Everything about it, but there might be some questions you have about prophecy.
-
It's just talking with it's Eddie, right, So Eddie and I were just
-
having a little exchange, just talking about there's there's this tends to be sometimes
-
pushed back against the prophetic and for right, for good reasons. But uh,
-
anybody, yeah, yeah, a question, and it wasn't public.
-
How does one taste the profit as opposed in the prophecy and this word althing
-
that right, that's a great question. Part of what data Day was alluding
-
to. The Scripture requires prophecy to be judged, evaluated. That's required as
-
part of the package. You can't there is no private prophecy because it's very
-
subjective, and so the Bible is very clear how there should you should be
-
the multitwo three witnesses. There's propas he must be evaluated, the Scripture says,
-
because it can be very destructive if it's not properly evaluated and judged.
-
So you have to be authenticated by some kind of spiritual authority. The most
-
dangerous thing for any Christian, I would say, is to self authorize any
-
kind of ministry. Self authorization is what got Adam in trouble. Come on
-
this. We're all started and so again Eddie and we're talked about the internet
-
phenomena of prophetic words has become an epidemic and it's been very destructive because people
-
are going on social media and saying the Lord says, and they go who
-
said the Lord said? Right as you think the Lord said. So we're
-
very careful about how we distribute the prophetic It needs to be done under governance.
-
It needs to be spoken into a governmental environment where there's some kind of
-
leadership and somebody is responsible. Quite frankly, so you might get a letter
-
from someone, but hopefully you know the person and that they're connected to a
-
local church and they're governed. Bottom line. If they're not, then I
-
would just say take it with a grain of salt. So yeah, I
-
mean that's the short end of it. Authorization is very important. Who authorizes.
-
So for me, I use myself as an example. I only go,
-
first of all, where I'm invited. Thankfully, Dave just keeps inviting
-
me, and if he doesn't, I ask Julia, can I please come?
-
I just invite myself. No, No, I go where I'm invited,
-
and I'm only authorized to speak and prophesy in the church I'm invited into
-
because the local leadership has invited me in. I'm under their authority, and
-
then if there's any problems, it's they have to handle it. And then
-
I come under authority. I'm part of a local church. I'm an elder
-
in my church. They know where I am, they have my schedule,
-
and if I do something weird, you can get a hold of them.
-
So, because the again the prophetic is very subjective in nature, there needs
-
to be some kind of governance over it. So that's why. So as
-
far as you can judge content, but judging the person, well, there
-
has to be certain qualifications that someone becomes a recognized prophetic voice, and that's
-
first tim To me, it's first Timothy three and Titus one. Those are
-
the character qualities of an elder. So they have been good standing in their
-
church and good report and all those things are part of again, why you
-
need to be part of the local church. So does it make sense that
-
helped you so stay off the internet? Just stay off there, get your
-
prophecies somewhere else. That's a good question, though, Nicky, I think
-
I was going gives you know how to for that suit either that judge is
-
me, judge is believe by a judge and in this in this case will
-
be row If I share this, what fas I'm sitting next to whom are
-
they never see again? Right? Yeah? Well there, that's in the
-
category that of first Printain's fourteen I would not find that person. If this
-
word myself giving it, I have to check it according to the Word of
-
God to see if it's true, then I would share it. But in
-
this case, would it be wrong if it falls in the category of first
-
Printain's fourteen three, which says prophecies for edifications, build up, exhortation,
-
and comfort. That's that's great. You can do that without being a prophet.
-
You can do just exactly what David. Hey, you're okay. God
-
loves you. You can give a word that can bring comfort to somebody.
-
It's when you the dangers when you start getting into prediction and fu mature things
-
and specificity about somebody's personal life, that has to be weighed and governed because
-
it could really, it could really hurt somebody if it's wrong. You know
-
what I'm saying. So it's okay if you get something that's going to really
-
help their life. Maybe you just sense sorrow and just say I don't know
-
why, I just feel like you're going through a sorrowful time. Can I
-
pray for you? Something like that? So it's not wrong, it's just
-
that you got to watch how deep you're going into someone's life because you could
-
actually mess them up. Does that make sense? I mean, I don't
-
think God's going to use you to change someone's career and tell them who they're
-
going to marry on an airplane to a total stranger. Probably they're not even
-
going to receive it. But if it's something that's very life changing, you
-
may be the one that God wants to use. So we're not against it.
-
It's just a matter of guarding it. I would say, does that
-
make sense to you? Yeah, could be careful how you're how you're going
-
to be saying. And then again, you know, if you have someone,
-
of course on an airplane rising and you're a Christians here, I think
-
I have a prophecy for somebody and we need we need a witness. It's
-
like, now those would just be that quick little word of knowledge, that
-
little word of comfort. I'm finding too. I think this is a real
-
segue to activating, and Dave basically mentioned it. We're in a season now.
-
People want prayer. They want it. They don't know that they even
-
want it. They don't even they don't even know what the word prayer really
-
means, but they want it. And so I think it is that the
-
greatest open door in this hour is offering to pray for people. And I
-
was in an elevator at a hotel in Florida a few weeks ago. Oh
-
this is actually it was a few years ago because we were still wearing one
-
of those things we were in our faces and what were they call it again?
-
Oh? Mask? Yeah, anybody remember the mask? So and and
-
that's when you know in an elevator, you he had a maximum you know,
-
occupancy if an elevator is like four four people. Right. So I'm
-
on a like fourth floor and I pushed the button and I get in,
-
and I'm standing there and I see a guy comes around the corner and he
-
sees me in the elevator and he just stood there. He wouldn't get in.
-
So the door starts to close. Well, he pushed the button too
-
soon, and the door reopens and I'm still standing there, and he looked
-
at me and kind of looked around like, oops. We did it two
-
more times. He just kept push it too soon. Finally I said,
-
come on in, there's just the two of us. I'll stand over here.
-
You stand over there, okay, And he's like okay, and he
-
goes there. He stands there and I just looked at it and said,
-
so, how are you doing today? And he goes, well, not
-
too good back and he starts telling me about his back pain. That guy
-
never met before, right, And I just I said, okay, Well,
-
I got three floors to go. I said, what's your name?
-
John? John? You know what, John, I'm a praying kind of
-
guy. I said, would it be okay if I prayed for your back?
-
He goes, would you? I said sure, I'd be glad,
-
and I prayed for John's back and the door opened and we both left and
-
it was just that quick. Most of it a divine appointment because he didn't
-
want to get on the elevator, but he was in back pain, and
-
God says, I can help you. People want prayer. I don't know
-
if you've made it over in the United States and the news, but there
-
was a major what we call football. I know it's fake. It's fake
-
football. It's not real football. You have the real football, but our
-
version of football with doesn't even look like a football, does it. I
-
don't know what is anyway. There's a young twenty to twenty four year old
-
millionaire, they're all millionaires, collapsed in a football game, and the whole
-
stadium started praying. The team's all praying, they're all bowing down. A
-
very good friend of mine who's a pastor, was at the game and said
-
he just started praying. People all around got in a big humble of the
-
ulcer and first of all, half of them they don't even know the god
-
they're praying to, but you know what, everybody prayed. It made it
-
on the news. Even the sportscasters are talking about it, and you know,
-
we're just living in an era. It's kind of like what I was
-
saying this morning. There's a famine. God has ordained a famine, a
-
hunger. People want want prayer. So I have to say, the greatest
-
open door that God will give you is offer prayer. And I think nobody's
-
gonna say no, thank you. People want prayer. So I don't know
-
why I said all that. Anyway, Yeah, pray start with the prayer.
-
Sometimes the prophetic will just come as you start praying. So don't be
-
afraid to pray. Even now I lay me down to sleep. I mean,
-
just start with something and God can open a prophetic door for you.
-
And the other questions that was those are great questions too, by the way,
-
any other questions. One thing that happens yesterday, that's for my sake.
-
My she loves talk about the business. We do you know for what?
-
And then she started pulling out to me she's as m so londy.
-
And then she says she's only young, she got banned at work, she
-
was bad. She says, my whole brother's bad. I'm going to get
-
the company to be to say me. And then my husband died in Convid
-
certainly. And then in my family, ma'm I's got children who have got
-
sicknesses, only me and I'm the only one to have got up problem.
-
But this is she's only young, but she's she's a week or twice.
-
Yeah, and in her family she's got all things happening. So I sat
-
there and I was questioning myself where to put this from She's AMoD me.
-
I'm a work where I'm not allowed to get her faith in such circumstances.
-
So I said to her that two lads, I can see that something from
-
the first is traveling you and your family. From what you're saying, you
-
need, you need some prayer. You need to be prayed for. I
-
almost did. I almost prayed for her, and I said, I haven't
-
put it in a line. Yeah, because she's there unless you said that.
-
I first to uh to ask that she didn't ask me? So what
-
would you do in this case? So she did or did not ask you?
-
I ask, yeah, right, you know you get you can pray,
-
though you don't have to ask someone else's permission to just to praise to
-
God yourself obviously, right, I would just for me. I would just
-
pray for her anyway, not out loud. I don't wanna, you don't
-
wanna violate your work. You did tell her that, and she would quickly
-
turn around to sit to one to demand, so tell tell me what.
-
So how did you leave it? Then you did pray for her, but
-
not there that you're going to pray for her. I think that's beautiful.
-
I'm gonna pray for you with confidence. You say, I'm gonna tell me
-
your name I'm gonna pray for you and just walk away. It's like they
-
can't stop you from me. And if you get something, it might be
-
interesting. If God actually give you something, you know, you can even
-
write it down and bring it back to I was praying for you at home.
-
And I hope this encourages you. Don't have to call it a prophecy
-
or anything, but I hope these words encourage you. There's a church I've
-
worked with and did prophetic training at, and they have a whole prophetic team.
-
But it's interesting how again, because there's pushback on the language. They
-
don't call it prophetic ministry. They call it a time of encouraging words because
-
they want to couch it in that framework. Who needs an encouraging word.
-
We have a team up here. They love to give encouraging words, say
-
some of that. Thank you. Yeah, it's prophecy. But that's what
-
prophecy is. It brings encouragement. So if you keep it in that category,
-
it's safe. Yeah, good, any other questions. You know the
-
word prophecy the way, and I love what Dave was saying in his illustrations.
-
The Greek groups pro fu tale the root word foetaloe comes from another root
-
word called fame may, which is where we get the word epiphany and the
-
idea of famey is. I guess the easiest way to say it is to
-
assert one statement over another. You're asserting a statement from God over your statement,
-
okay over So you say, this is where I'm at today, this
-
is how I feel, this is what's going on in my life. But
-
God comes and speaks something totally different. Right, He's asserting the way he
-
sees you out of Isaiah. My thoughts aren't your thoughts. That's how you're
-
thinking, But here's how I'm thinking about you. So prophetic word comes and
-
asserts itself over your current situation. And that's where you grab hold of the
-
prophecy and believe it whether you feel like it. It's like I don't feel
-
that at all. God says, I know you don't, but I see
-
you that way. So it's really it's an elevated statement from an elevated source.
-
God is up here. My thoughts aren't as higher as the heavens are.
-
That's where I come from. And the other thing to remember, God
-
sees the end from the beginning. Another Isaiah wisdom Isaiah forty six ten.
-
God who knows the end from the beginning. God already sees you finished.
-
So God doesn't evaluate you where you are currently. Isn't that good news?
-
We look in the mirror every morning, go, well, I guess as
-
good as it's going to get today. So you know, we evaluate on
-
our current circumstances. God looks at you and he sees the end. So
-
that's that's good news. Well, we're going to just kind of finish up
-
in Second Kings now, the sixth chapter, and I think the way to
-
be back and look and say how did you put that down? There have
-
says to do with it. You're, you know, restoring your cutting edge,
-
so to speak, how to stay on the cutting edge, and how
-
the prophetic is designed to give us that edge and bring wisdom, help us
-
walk in wisdom. I think what Dave was sharing was a great story even
-
in the marketplace. I mean, God was given him wisdom. So here's
-
an interesting story. Two Kings, chapter six, Verse one. The sons
-
of the prophets said to Elisha Seed, the place where we dwell under you
-
is under your charge is too small for us. So let's go to the
-
Jordan and each of us get there a log. Let's make a place for
-
us to dwell there. And he answered go And one of them said,
-
well, be pleased to go with your servants, and he said, okay,
-
I'll go with you. So he went with them. And when they
-
came to the Jordan, they cut down trees. But as one was felling
-
a log, his axe had fell into the water, and he cried out,
-
alas, my master, it was borrowed. Then the man God said
-
where did it fall? When he showed him the place, he caught off
-
a stick threw it in there and it made the iron float. Actually,
-
the Hebrew It says it actually swam. The word swim swimming iron. And
-
then he said take it up. So he reached out his hand and he
-
took it. It's an amazing story. It's easily as much of a miracle
-
as donkeys talking and water turning to wine. And here's a piece of metal
-
swimming. So we start out the story, and I kind of call this
-
kind of broadening out the prophetic company. So we've seen how you know,
-
we've seen how Elisha was ministering to the Shunamite woman, the death of her
-
son. There's other things happening in this amazing story. But now we have
-
the sons of the prophets. It's another generation coming and realizing. First of
-
all, you have to recognize your confinements, recognize your limits. And I
-
think God wants to take the limits off. And God is They said,
-
see the place where we dwelt under your charge is too small for us.
-
And so I think God is broadening us right now. I think he wants
-
the prophetic not to be contained in a few minutes on a Sunday morning.
-
He wants it out there. So I think the church is too small for
-
the prophetic. So he says, let's go to the Jordan, and each
-
of us get there a log and make a place for us to dwell.
-
And it's exactly what the Schunemite woman did. She built something. The prophetic
-
is to build. It's meant to build. I mean the very idea of
-
equipping and building. Infrast Corinthians. The fourteenth chapter is one of the most
-
dense pieces of theology and doctrine on prophecy, where Paul teaches strongly on what
-
prophecy is and he uses the word build I think eight or nine times in
-
that one verse or that one chapter. Because the prophetic builds as a design.
-
So the word build to build somebody oikodomos is the Greek word. It
-
means to build according to a specific pattern or design, with a focus on
-
the process involved. Isn't that interesting? So it's to build something specifically with
-
a focus on the process involved. That's how God builds. So I said
-
it earlier, but to remind us, God is more interested in the process
-
than anything else because it's the process that actually builds you. It's the process
-
that God takes you through is what builds you. So we're going to talk
-
at the end how to engage in the prophetic process for your own life.
-
I've got a handoff for that, but I just want to hit a couple
-
of these principles. So recognizing the confinement and though now watch, the strategy
-
is, let us go to the Jordan and each get a log. I
-
would say that everybody recognize your gift. Everybody has a log. Everybody needs
-
to get your log. Let us each get there are building material? Right?
-
What was a log for them? Building material? You are God's log.
-
Isn't that encouraging? Don't you feel better now? Bumps and sticks and
-
bark and everything, so you might even bark. I don't know your God's
-
building material. I mean God wants to use you to help build somebody else.
-
Let's all get a log and make a place, build something to dwell,
-
the dwelling place God wants you. You're building gift. Okay, a
-
dwelling place, another chamber. We saw how the Shunamite woman built a profits
-
chamber. These are the sons. Now the prophets want to build a place
-
where they can dwell, where they can express their gift. Right. They're
-
prophetic men, men being trained by Elisha. So they move in team.
-
Then one of them said, be pleased to go with your servants. And
-
he says, I will go team ministry going no more no loan rangers out
-
there. That's where the internet got problems. We have all these self authorized
-
loan rangers not even going to church and saying I've got a word. Now
-
go with us. Who's going with you? Travel together? He went with
-
him, and they came to the Jordan. They cut down trees and then
-
here's the problem. Now here's this problem. This one guy is he's felling
-
his lug his axe, said fell into the water. When you begin to
-
minister, you're going to encounter some challenges. If he just stayed home and
-
there wouldn't have been any problem, right, But in the going, you're
-
going to have obstacles, You're going to have challenges. So he literally,
-
as we said, he lost his cutting edge. So into the water it
-
goes, and he comes to the Man of God, and the Man of
-
God says, where did it fall? It starts with a question. It
-
goes back on him, and it wasn't like, you, stupid idiot,
-
why didn't you glue it on? You know, it didn't chastise him.
-
He said, let's let's go back to where it fell. And so sometimes
-
when you feel like you've lost your cutting edge, you need to you need
-
to let the Lord take you back to where you begin to lose it.
-
If you begin to lose your passion, maybe got distracted. And so again
-
here's the miracle. He showed him places. We went in right there,
-
and he cut down a stick or wood actually again hebrew wear a tree,
-
some some kind of wood, and he threw it in up came the iron,
-
and then he turns it back on the guy and says, now you
-
take it up. Because a lot of times when we lose our cutting edge,
-
we're afraid to go back. Or like again, we were talking like
-
I don't believe in prophecy anymore. I lost my cutting edge. I just
-
I don't believe in it anymore. I've lost confidence. He says, no,
-
you take it up, and so he reached out his hand and he
-
took it. So notice in this there's the restoration that comes. And the
-
bottom line that I want to point out in this whole little text I think
-
is so important is the concept of mentoring. We really need to mentor and
-
have a mentor. Everybody needs a mentor if you don't have a living one,
-
and find a dead one. Isaiah happens to be one of my dead
-
mentors. I love Isaiah, can't wait to meet him, my older brother
-
in heaven. He's taught me so much. But really, you do need
-
a mentor of some kind that can someone that's just enough ahead of you to
-
pull you up, someone you can go to when you have a crisis.
-
He knew exactly who to go to. He went to his mentor. And
-
we have a saying all the time in our circle of churches, encouraging pastors
-
and leaders. Everybody needs a mentor, and everybody needs a model. We
-
always say, what are you modeling right now? Who are you modeling your
-
services after? Who's mentoring you? Chris Hodge says this. He says,
-
imitation is a lot easier than innovation. Who are you imitating? Find someone
-
that's doing it better. We also have another thing for all of our staff.
-
We always say, find three people that do your job better than you.
-
Somewhere in America, we say in America, could be find them and
-
develop a relationship with him. They have the same job you do, but
-
they're doing it better. They're at a bigger church, whatever, they're out
-
there, and he says, and you build a relationship. Our pastor did
-
that. Took over our church eighteen years ago. We were around three hundred
-
people, and we always with pre COVID numbers, right, that always sound
-
better. We're almost back to pre COVID numbers. But in fifteen years built
-
us up to fifteen hundred people. How did he do that? He found
-
a mentor, and he found a model. He found three guys that did
-
his job better than him, and just pursued relationship. He invited him in,
-
they spoke, He went to their conferences. He went to their churches,
-
coached me up. What do I need to do? I'm now at
-
five hundred? How do I get to eight hundred? Okay, I'm in
-
one thousand? What's it going to take to break a thousand? While you're
-
going to need to hire this person, change this, and change it.
-
That's all he did was become coachable and teachable. And I think, whether
-
it's the prophetic or the apostolic, or pastoral or healing or whatever, whatever
-
log you have, find someone that knows logging really well, you're type of
-
logging and say, can I learn from you? Will you with Can I
-
go with you? Can I travel with you? Can I let's meet up
-
together? So these are ways that we can stay sharp because the Bible says
-
iron sharpens iron, And these are ways that we can walk in wisdom,
-
walk in someone else's wisdom. Because there will be battles. Let me just
-
go on a little bit further down in this story, because the battle is
-
for vision, prophetic vision, and the next part of the story, I'll
-
make it. I'll try to make it fast. But this is now.
-
The kings are at war. King of Syria is fighting the ing Israel,
-
And every time the King of Syria went and set up a camp to attack
-
Israel. The prophet would tell the King of Israel where the Syrians were,
-
and they blew it, and so they warned them more than once, the
-
King of Israel, and so the mind of the King of Syria was greatly
-
troubled because this is military intelligence that hadn't even been invented on the planet.
-
Right, this is coming from another source. He called to servants and said,
-
will you not show who's for the King of Israel. In other words,
-
he's accusing one of his servants as a spy and a trader, basically
-
like, how does this guy know what we're doing all the time? Every
-
time we go to attack them, they knew, they knew we were coming.
-
So one of you must be a trader. I mean, the king's
-
mad. His mind is trouble. He's mad. And finally one sheepish guy
-
goes, oh, excuse me, sir, No one, my lord,
-
but Elisha the prophet who is in Israel. He tells the King of Israel
-
the very words you speak in your bedroom. Wow, testing it's like somebody's
-
listening. Pretty scary thought, isn't it. Yeah. So his response is
-
we need to go get this guy. He did. He says, go
-
find out where he is. I'm gonna seize him. He said, well,
-
we heard he's in Dothans. So he sends an army for one guy.
-
One guy that can hear from God is a threat. Man that's a
-
threat to an entire army. So they send an entire army for one guy.
-
And he goes, Oh, and by the way, go at night
-
so he won't know you're coming. Excuse me, he hears the word you
-
speak in your bedroom. Do you think are we going to surprise him or
-
what? So they do, they go at night, They surround the city
-
of Dothan. When the servant of the Man of God rose early in the
-
morning, he went out. You can just just see him getting up,
-
could of rub him the sleep out of his eyes, getting ready to make
-
a cup of tea for his Master opens the windows and out there it's not
-
like now the Bible tones it down. He says, alas, Master,
-
alas ah, there's an army out there. What shall we do? And
-
he said, don't be afraid. First, Now, how did he come
-
up with that one? Do you think he was afraid? Alas? Now,
-
he's probably like don't be afraid. First of all, don't be afraid
-
of what you see, because those who are with us are more than those
-
who are with them. And the servants probably now really think of this guy
-
has lost it. Go back to bed. You know, there's two of
-
us and there's an army out there. What are you even talking about?
-
So Elisha didn't argue with him, He didn't explain anything. He didn't have
-
a Bible study. He prayed one short, powerful prayer. It's the same
-
one we can pray. Here's what he prayed. Lord opened his eyes so
-
he can see not agreement. Think about that. We can be so spiritually
-
blind sometimes that what we actually see we think is actually real. What we
-
see is often an illusion of what's really there. So the Lord opened the
-
eyes of the young man his other eyes. How many know you have two
-
sets of eyes. You got a set in your head, but the Bible
-
tells us we also have a set of eyes where in our heart. Fijians
-
Chapter one, Paul prayed for the Ephesian Christians. He prayed for Christians that
-
the eyes of their heart would be and the word is foot tides, oh
-
would be enlightened, which is where we get the word photograph. That's why
-
Dave was so good at saying, get a picture, get an object.
-
God opened my eyes. What I want to see heavenly pictures, pictures in
-
the spirit realm. That's all. That's all Elishah did. I said,
-
God opened his eyes, give them a picture of what's really there, because
-
his current picture is producing fear. So I'm training him. Lord opened his
-
eyes and he saw and behold watched the mountain was full of horses and chariots
-
of fire. Now there's a whole nother army there, the heavenly host.
-
So that's what we learn is often what we see is just an illusion of
-
what's ably real. This mortal life is a temporary illusion of what's to come.
-
So what's the second thing we learned? A statement of truth begins to
-
change your sight. Notice how he responded, alas, Master, what shall
-
we do? Watch? We said, don't be afraid what those who are
-
with us are more than with them. Was that true or false? It
-
was true. That was a statement of truth. He just stated the truth,
-
and that begins the process of change in someone with truth. That's why
-
the word of God is truth. Right. So I have a question for
-
you when did that other army show up? When did the chariots of fire
-
show up? Do you think it showed up when he prayed? Or do
-
you think they were already there? How many think they were already there is
-
their last chance to raise your hand in church today. I promise, Okay,
-
they were already there. Right. So here's my other question. What's
-
already in this room? You just don't see it? What's already right here
-
in egham? Sister, our intercessors, you're praying for eghem, what's already
-
around the egghem? Maybe we don't see it. We have to pray.
-
Lord open our eyes for every individual. If you're walking to the train station
-
on your way, God, open my eyes. I want to see what
-
you see. And that's how you become prophetic by just seeing what God sees.
-
So when you're sitting on an airplane, just say, God, open
-
my eyes. What do you see in this person? Is there anything you
-
might get silence? I don't know. Or when you go to work,
-
Lord, open my eyes. Let me see what's already there. But they
-
don't see it. These are things that we can pray. It's in the
-
Bible. It's one of the most powerful prayers. Not only did the prophet
-
pray that, the Psalmist prayed it Psalm one and nineteen verse eighteen. The
-
Psalmist said, opened my eyes that I could behold wonderful things from your law
-
if he prayed that. And God did, and I think that's why he
-
wrote the longest psalm in the Bible. It's one hundred and seventy six verses.
-
He couldn't stop once God popped his eyes open. He just kept going
-
right. And then the apostle prayed it. I just quoted it in Pheesians
-
Ie. Paul prayed that for Christians, that the eyes of our heart would
-
be enlightened that we may know. It says, But that's that word ido
-
that I used earlier, which literally means to see with faith, that we
-
may see with faith the hope of our calling. That's why Paul prayed for
-
their eyes to be open. So the battle for prophetic vision, I don't
-
know. Faith is the substance of things, hope for the evidence of things
-
not seen with the eyes. I was just close with this. Elisha's final
-
enemy was Jezebel, and I would say that prophetic enemy number one is witchcraft.
-
It's the false dimension of the prophetic. It's where we get fortune telling
-
from and all the stuff that comes with the tarot cards. It's all in
-
the realm of witchcraft because people people want to know the future, they really
-
do. And you know, there's another way into the spirit realm, but
-
it's illegal. That's why Jesus said, I'm the door. If you want
-
to get in the spirit realm, you got to come through me. You
-
can get in another way. If you do, you're a thief and a
-
robber. You're trying to get revelation. You're trying to steal it from another
-
entrance. So there is another way. There's a dark way to get into
-
the spirit realm. But Jesus said, you've got to go in through the
-
door. So Elisha's final enemy was Jezebel, and Elijah prophesied her destruction,
-
prophesied it. But Elisha, what did he do? Did he destroy her?
-
No? You know what he did. He anointed leaders. See,
-
the prophetic helps release leaders to combat in spiritual warfare. No one person can
-
do it. You need leaders to train the saints and how to do spiritual
-
warfare. So Jehu was anointed. He was a leader. He was a
-
warrior. He was anointed to destroy the false prophetic dimension, which is Jezebel.
-
I mean that was even brought up in Revelation chapter two in the Seven
-
Churches. They said, you know that woman Jezebel who calls herself a prophetest.
-
She wasn't, but that's what she called herself. I'm a prophetest.
-
No you're not. You're a witch, that's what you are. So prophetic
-
input is always dependent on the strategic use of your faith. It's how we
-
use our faith strategically, how we use the wisdom that God gives us.
-
Because ultimately, in the battle, there's only one target Satan has and that's
-
your faith. He wants to destroy your faith. How does he do it?
-
Oh, finances, relationships, your health. He'll come at you in
-
so many ways, but what is really after is your faith. That's the
-
one thing that he just can't stand. It's your faith, having faith in
-
God. Have faith in God. So what I want to do now is
-
we'll take a little bit of time left. I'm going to give this to
-
you. We won't get it all done today, but I want to take
-
these home. I'll take you through these six little points and hands of his
-
way. This is just a tool to help you engage in the prophetic process.
-
So I'm kind of drafting off of the second teaching today when I talked
-
about if you don't engage in the process, there's no arrival that the destination
-
God has. And again the reminding phrase, the prophetic isn't the delivery of
-
a singular word. It is a process of inquiry. So I hope you
-
use these to stimulate your conversation with God. That's all this is. This
-
is a God assignment. This is between you and God. And I'll just
-
talk to you through these real quickly. Number One, in reviewing your own
-
historical journey with God? Are there things which God has spoken to you that
-
have yet to be built or manifested? And again we're not talking abracadabra,
-
We're talking about what kind of a process are you in that you're currently building?
-
Something could be a relationship, could be anything that God's building you,
-
could be faith. Are you Are you in a faith journey right now?
-
So you do want to go back and rehearse your own history with God.
-
You know God loves to rehearse history. This book is full of God rehearsing
-
history with his people, right, So it's good to go back and rehearse
-
and see where you've come from. If you have had a personal prophecy,
-
go back to it. I just did that before I took this trip.
-
I was amazed. I look back at prophetic words my wife and I got
-
in the early eighties, almost forty years ago, and I just had forgotten
-
him. Thank God, I had him written down, but I hadn't read
-
him. In probably twenty twenty, I haven't gone back, and most of
-
them have been fulfilled. But I looked back and there were some things they're
-
going, my goodness, Yeah, that was I didn't even understand what God
-
was saying then, and I look at it now and go, oh,
-
that was God. God did that. And there's still some promises from things
-
he promised back twenty forty years ago that have not yet been fulfilled. And
-
I had to go back and revisit that and say, God, what's next?
-
Then? What do I need to do to build the mechanism in me
-
to see that fulfilled? But God has to build internal systems in us to
-
fulfill what he wants for us. As I said, God's all process,
-
it's what he's building on the inside. So you know, you can get
-
a prophetic word, but if there's no capacity to actually execute that, God
-
has to build that into you, and he does it through the equipping the
-
church are in and the people you're around. Wooho, that exciting. So
-
go ahead and change churches. See how that works out. You're just going
-
to slow down the building process. I mean I laugh at people going,
-
ah, I'm just going to go to another church. High good luck.
-
God will meet you there too. The same God that's aggravating you and frustrating
-
you here, He's going to love you and not give up on you.
-
Number two, if if there were were there any specific or strategic performance imperatives
-
that were established where God could specifically say I want you to do this,
-
you just have to go back and talk with God about that. And that's
-
why again we record prophecies and we write them out so we can remember it,
-
because I don't remember. Were there any assumptions that quote if God said
-
it, He'll do it, which absolves you of any personal responsibility. There
-
might be we're just but God has to clearly say that to the point where
-
you then can say this has got to be God, not me. But
-
there are other things that for instance, there's well, I'll put that down
-
at the bottom. I'll move on. Number three. Has your process started
-
from a correct starting point? That's pretty good, But now has you deviated
-
into religious postures and formulas? Isn't that good? I'll remind you what Paul
-
wrote to the Galatians? Are you so foolish? Having begun by the spirit?
-
Are you now being perfected by the flesh? And we can all fall
-
into that because we're very capable and we have the Internet, ding ding ding
-
ding ding. Hey we got Google. We don't need God. So the
-
danger is to impose human ingenuity and fleshly creativity upon a divine process. Transformation
-
of a human is a divine process. We age on our own, no
-
problem there, but christ like transformation is a divine process, And the danger
-
is to impose human ingenuity or fleshly creativity on what only God can do?
-
Number four? Are there areas of your life which now require a fresh season
-
of inquiry? There may be you may have to go back and God,
-
say God, are there any areas of my life? I need some fresh
-
questions? What about that? Am I done with that? Do I pick
-
something up that I haven't was supposed to pick up. That's part of our
-
prayer life is talking and questioning God so that He can refresh us in our
-
journey with him. Number five, In reviewing what God has said to you
-
previously, can you find any clearly declared requirements? It's just good to go
-
back. Sometimes a word will pop out when you say, I'm supposed to
-
be doing this. God's requiring this of me to do this? Or Number
-
six, are there any implied requirements? They're not overtly stated, but they're
-
implied. For instance, if someone maybe you got a word I was talking
-
about something to be a missionary, right about a couple here, So you
-
get a word about missions and everything, Well, the implied requirement is do
-
you have a passport? You know? It's like, well, God never
-
said I had to get a passport. Everybody's called you to the mission field?
-
How are you gonna? You know, that's just wisdom. That's using
-
the wisdom, or that's using the question game where I call it the journey
-
of inquiry with God. That's how you journey with God in questions and keep
-
going back, say God, is the anything I missed? God's got perfect
-
memory? Is there something I missed? God, is there something I should
-
be doing but maybe I'm just not getting it made me? Can you open
-
my eyes? Am I blind to something? All these are just tools to
-
help you engage in the process of development, because that's what God wants.
-
Man. Any questions on that I did go a little fast. We got
-
to look. But I really want you to take these with you. That's
-
why we've haven't printed out. Take them with you and spend some time with
-
God and start and seriously just read the questions and go Okay, God,
-
Well, anything I should be working on right now, anything I'm supposed to
-
be building, Anything I'm not supposed to be building? How about that one?
-
Right? That journey of inquiry has to go on both sides. Is
-
there anything I'm supposed to be doing? Is there anything I'm not supposed to
-
be doing? So Someth'm supposed to pick up, someone I'm supposed to let
-
go. God will tell you it's not a game, it's your development and
-
he's very interested in that process. So good Any questions on any questions on
-
the questions they make sense to you. Good? Well. God is a
-
rewarder of those that diligently seek him. So we're going to reward you with
-
ten minutes early dismissal. Is that okay, Professor, Okay, go back
-
to you, Dave, if you want to
