RCF 200823 Infill Service - Simon Chaffer - Where is the Word

Okay, I'm reminded of a school lesson I was in. There's been many

years ago, and it's a geographer lesson, and the teacher said, because

of the advents in technology, when you go to work, you only work

three or four days a week. All the technology, all the computers,

all this sort of stuff, well you know you'll be just having three or

four days, three or four days of work. I didn't think much of

it from then until now to honestly, until the Lord's reminded me of it.

So we're all on thirty plus forty plus years probably and know just working

three or four days a week. In fact, people are working longer.

We have our laptops, we have our tablet, we have our smart phones,

and we talk to people around the world, an't we m m hm,

just waiting for the aeroplane to fire and in the body of Christ.

With hands that technology, we can now live streams around the world. We

can now have meetings through Zoom. Anyone can join from anywhere. So technology,

technology is a good thing. We can harness it, we can use

it to extend the Kingdom of God. Were in this fast paid society.

We're our phones, we have our tablets. Just get my phone out,

h Where is the word of God? Where is the Word of God?

Mhm, this device and all my slartphone. This is very reinforcing. It

generates to reinforcing behavior when you use it. It depends what you're reinforcing.

Right now. This is Matthew seven on my phone, So I'm reinforcing Matthew

seven. And what the Lord then talked to today is about reinforcing the Word

of God in our lives. All this technology stuff is good, but we

need to be rooted and we needed to be founded in the Word of God.

As God builds this church, and God is building this church. Just

look around you. God is building this church. And God builds on precept

upon precept upon precept. He likes to build. That's his thing. He

builds people, he builds community, he builds hope. But it all starts

with the Word of God. Matthew seven thinks in Matthew seven is Matthew seven

talks about Yeah, Matthew seven twenty four talks about the guy who builds his

house on the rock. So they just change that slightly, you know,

if we build on the rock. The revelation of the Word of God we

will not fail. Yeah, if you build on other stuff, we get

on these devices, we're build on the sand or when the when the storm

comes in and get washed away. In summary, that's for free. Romes

eight and verse ten says the Word is near you, in your mouth and

in your heart. Your Roma's ten per se yes says the Word is near.

It's in your mouth and it's in your heart. That is the word

of faith which we preached. That's Paul speaking. Just the word is near

us. It's in our mouth and it's in our heart. The only way

it gets into our hearts by coming through our mouth and coming through our eyes

and coming through our ears. The policepaper wants to build with each one individually

here in this room here and people who are joining online but part of our

CF. He wants to build you anyway. Who we're not part of our

CF, you want to build with you, but specifically today he wants to

feel a people in our CF that's individually incorporately. So everybody's got a responsibility.

That's me as Dave, it's everybody. If we have the faucidly,

if the foundation is right, everything else will be right. If the foundation

is not good, it will not stand. And as God bills this community,

we need to be founded on the word of God. So we need

to get it in our eyes, getting our ears, getting our mouth,

and got into our our hearts post in Romans ten on Bersey. I think

it's just He wants to take us from where we are now as a fellowship

is where He wants us to be. That's got a pitch. I get

a little steps by step, step by step, and as you go the

steps, the there's like a line on top of the line gets bigger as

he builds and he builds and it builds. You got to start somewhere.

So what God brings people into this fellows. God builds this fellowship, just

God builds your fellowship. Part this fellowship. It's on precept upon precepts,

on precept on precepts. So it's time to dig deep. It's time to

evaluate where we are going individually and then corporately because we're all part. It's

we need to be ready. So if you wanted me to share a few

scriptures around that piece to encourage us and so we can look at ourselves and

make sure that we're making the right adjustments. We're all different. That way

we all smile. Ah yeah, all that sort of jazz. But we've

all got our own challenges, we've got our own walk with God, and

that work has got to be right. That what's got to be found on

the word of God. Then we've come together. There's a release of power,

because there's power in the word. Anyway. That's just the introduction really,

So got five points. The first is meditate it. Meditate it very

familiar scripture. These are foundational scriptures, but that doesn't make any difference.

The lad wants to reinforce something versus today. So you know you reinforced with

foundational scriptures. Joshua one and verse e. This book of the Law shall

not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and

night, that you may observe to do according to that just written in it.

But then you shall make your way prosperous, and you have good success.

Then you make it away prosperous and have good success. Who wants to

be prosperous and have got success? Okay? One or two of us?

All right? Okay, God to speaking to Joshua, give them direction.

Moses was gone. Joshua had a load of people to manage and before four

million people. Here's a big task with Joshua to step up to the plate.

What did God say to him? Do not let this book with the

Lord depart from your mouth. Meditate on it day or night, that you

may be re suscepted the world that's written in it, that truth, that

principle remains today. Like I said, God builds on precept upon precept,

upon precepts. He runs patterns. There's patternsn't run through the word of God.

There's patterns to run how he does things. Learn God's pattern for you

and you'll be on the right path. The word meditate here can be translated

mutter speak or ponder. It's just about muttering, declaring, speaking the word

of God. You know, we're designed to meditate on the word of God.

A lot of people now meditate on worry, meditate on fear. What

if this? What if that? What if the other? I've known some

people and that was their hobby to meditate on, to worry about something they

nothing to worry about. They didn't know what to do with themselves. That's

not a joke, that's just that is reality. They did not want to

know what to do with theirselves. But we've got to harness that ability that

God has given us and focus on meditating on the Word. Sounds pretty simple,

but Cherrian said, sometimes I mind can go everywhere. We've got to

bring it back to the Word of God. O're awn different places. And

I'm not putting anything to anybody online or in the room here. It's just

claiming down some precepts which God wants to reinforce us to pray over and to

do. Like a health check. You know, we go to the the

surger and you say it's time for your health check. So you know,

they take your blood, tricky finger for your cholesterol, you know, standing

away in scales, breathe in, you know, all that sort of stuff.

Check your height, Yeah you're you're okay, all that sort of stuff.

This is a health check. Yeah, we all need a health check.

So where where are we? Okay? I need to keep that word

in our eyes, in our ears, in our mouth. Yeah you might

be doing that, which is great, and just check and check the Lord

from taking the next step. Where where's my next where's my next move?

Where am I going? Because we're on the journey. H It's not about

I'm better than you. I'm quicker than you. It's about where am I?

Where do I need to go next? Why I don't need to stretch

to God always stretches us. If you notice that got always stretches, you

can't be complacent with God otherwise you're not doing it. You know, it's

a stretch. Faith is always a stretch. To believe. It's a stretch.

Those don't be faith with it. You know, you've got to believe

the word of God. You've got to stand on the word of what the

Word of God says. That's why we need it in your heart. It's

not in our heart. It's not rooted in our heart. It's not going

to come out of our mouth when we need it. So meditate on it.

Number two, attend to it, probably four twenty. I soon give

attention to my words. Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let

them depart from your eyes. Keep them in the midst of your heart.

For their life, to those that find them health. Another translator says,

medicine to all your flesh. It's very familiar scripture, my son, give

attention to my words. We give attention to something, it means we put

it first place. If you got kids, you give attention to your kids

when they're young, you give attention to you make sure they're eating something.

We make sure they are dressed. When they get to sort of like seven

eight, you know, they should get and dressed themselves. But it's to

give attention to them, because that's how it is. You don't just leave

them to it. We have a friend and he went to his sister and

his his niece. I just got dressed for the first time by herself.

She chose. She chose her own clothes. You know, I just did

her own thing. And he said to her sister, WHOA, what's going

on here? What she's wearing? What she doing? It's the first time

she dressed herself. Just shut up. You know, we all need to

take that first step. So to someone this might be a new concept,

so as it might just be an oak concept. Either way, we need

to end to the word of God. I'll put the word of God as

a priority. Keep it in your eyes and in the midst of your heart.

Out of the abundance the heart and the mouth speak of King James six

forty five. Out the abundance of the heart and the mouth speaks. Don't

put the word of God in here. What's going to come out again.

We're building a foundation here, We're building community, We're building fellowship. God

wants to build with you, wants to build with me. For their life,

to those that find them health medicine, to all their flesh. You

want some life, get in the word of God. You want some health,

Get in the word of God. If you take pills nowadays, you

know you can take take your My mum and dad were down last week.

We went to fetch them on the weekend. Then we took them back on

this weekend. Sometime they got they've got this pill box which he has been

got for them, which is basically a red box with a little containers in

it, and then it's numbered for each day because they pop. They pop

pills now, so they dinner at the dinner table, they get out of

the box for that day, and then that box for that day. It's

like, okay, and pills you go in there. You know, let's

keep them going because I take so much today with the word of God.

You don't need a pill box. You can take as much as you like

anytime you want to take it. It's not going to do you any harm.

You cannot overdose on the word of God. It has benefits to us,

to our soul, to our spirit, so I tend to it.

It's powerful. Is the next one as R fifty five eleven. It's very

familiar scripture. I'm sure what a rain comes down and the snow from heaven,

and do not return there, but water the earth and make it bring

forth and bud that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the

eater. So shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth, It

shall not return to me avoid, but it shall accomplish that which I please.

I shall prosper in the thing wherein to I scent it. Yeah,

we all know that scripture. So shall my word be that goes forth out

of my mouth? It shall not return to me avoid, but it shall

accompliss that which I please. I shall prosper in the thing whereinto I sent

it. If you meditate on the word at tenth, the word of God's

where it's in your heart, When you speak God's word out of your mouth,

it will not return to you void, and it will accompass that which

you please, and they'll prosper in the place where you want it to be.

God wants to build. Here you watch the stretchers. So we're speaking

the word of God that we declared decreeing the word of God are and lives

are changed, communities are changed, right, But we've got to stretch that

how away, guys. Doesn't all happen all at once? Is that you

know, you don't go in a sort of sixteen stone to a gym and

come out the next day at twelve and a half. We'll building muscles.

It doesn't happen that way. You've got to build. You've got to make

a choice. I guess the days about making the right choices, isn't it

Nowadays? When you go down the supermarket there's so much junk in there,

just for the sugar, which isn't very good for you as of healthy stuff.

What choice we're going to make? God doctor here should tell her about

that. Later. We need to choose the right thing to do, which

is meditating, attend to it's with that powerful word of God comes out of

our mouth. H God wants us to legislate in the heaven lies. That

might be a bit of a weird word some people here wants us to legislate

in the heaven is. But to do that you need to work now to

minus the word of God. You need to know the spirit. It all

starts with these principles I'm sharing with this morning. Next point, keep it

near where you talk about Romans ten, verse eight. The word is near

you, in your mouth and in your heart. M hm. So having

this device, if you don't clicked on the scripture we need at the time

we need it. So it's in our heart, in our mouth and our

heart. It's not near all these scripture. I'm not looking at my notes

and just speaking out of my mouth. Not not look at me. But

it's a case of that's what's in there. I've made a deposit. You've

got to You've got to make the deposit to draw deposit. Mad You remember

I first started work. I bet a opposit in the bank and they say,

what's the money? I go and draw that money. You know that,

Well, I've got the money. Now I have to be in a

student. You've got to make the deposit to draw it out. You've got

nothing in there, you know. You look look on an overdraft. You

can't go overdraft with a word of God. You either have it or you

don't have it. You've got if you've got no connection. You're not connected

to the Word of God. You're not connected to the source, you're not

connected to the power. You're in trouble. M h, m hm.

So God's encourage us to meditate, to ponder the word of God, to

stretch ourselves. That's why Dave takes up those scriptures. I know we get

chocolates, which is always a nice incentive, but the reason behind that is

so that we're in A man is strengthened, he's built up, or he's

built up, or she's built up. So meditate it, attend to it

is powerful, keep it near you, in your mouth, in your heart.

And the last part is living. Mh. This is my work for

today. It is not a book. It's not a dead piece of word.

These are living words. These are living words where God is alive.

Hebrews can rock over John he Brews four twelve. The Word of God is

living and powerful, sharp and eight two edges, so penetrating the light,

nas soul and spirits as amplified, and the joints in the mind, discern

the intense, the thoughts of the heart, says and the New King James

version. It's living the way that God is living. It's not a dead

book, it's a living book. We need to imbibe that life because God

wants us to give life to the people around here. We wants to build

community around here. We can't give what we haven't got. I know.

We all spend time in the Word, which is great. All God's asking

us to do is consider what we're doing now and see what just as we

need to make to develop. If I go to the gym, which I

do, and I live the same way every every day, I'm not going

to develop the way some of you probably don't know. But you've got to

increase your weights and change your reps and all the rest of it to develop.

That's how it is. If you go for a walk, you can't

go for a ten mile walk and then go for a fifty mile walk the

next day, then go for one hundred mile walk the next day. It

doesn't work like your body what you're doing. Lie down, fool, what

you're doing. It's not work that way. So we've got to build a

bit at a time, stretched on the next place. And that's all God

is saying to us today is to consider my word, Consider where you are,

Consider what steps you need to take. Distract to the next paint.

We have the Holy bit will lead them, guides and directors. Just I'll

send you the Holy Bit when I go. The guys went, oh right,

okay, yeah, didn't really understand. Yes, he brings power.

He also teach us leads and guards and directors. So God wants to build

with us individually. He wants to build with us corporately. We're all different

places where it starts with us. So I want to encourage you to do

to just take some time of the Lord this week and just have a have

a chat. See what adjustments you need to make. I need to make.

Speak to me about this as well. So it's it's not like I've

arrived and I've had but I haven't for He's a case of understanding what he

wants you to do. He wants to see a spiritual explosion in here,

right, But we all bring something to this meeting. We all brings them

to this meeting. It's not sharing giving it this at the front he brings.

We bring. We come together in the spirit has in one spirit alisburg

rocks up and as an explosion as we wants to do. But we've all

got to be connected. That's everybody. Yeah, we've all got a part

to play. The body of Christ is not the people on the front road

do it and the people in the back rows it. Then go okay,

I'm then to watch the football. In a few minutes, I've go got

out of here. H. It's about being all inclusive. We are.

There's there's a there's a space in this body for every person. Every person,

and we all bring something every week. But to bring something every you've

got to be connected. You've got to be full of the word of God.

And God's encourage us to be in that place. And it's a stretch.

H. It's a stretch work. If pend, if you store,

some people might not work anymore from I might be retired. For those who

do work and do work in should we say in industry, do work in

commerce, do work in business? Those people are stretched because that's why how

they work with it. So it's in case you find the time cutting out

that time for God. So this is my time with Him, and that

is it. Sometimes you've got to be strict to make it work for you.

Otherwise, things in my digital world just pushing the us. What God

is saying is prioritize my word put it first place. You're saying, let's

build together. Let's build community together here in this place and those people listening

online. You know, the principles I'm sharing today apply to everybody, not

just the fellowship today, applied to everybody. So where you are, build

community, Build with the Word of God, Build as God leads you.

Let's pray. I'll wrap this up, thanks, Jonathan Father. I pray

that your word would would would speak to everybody who's heard it to it's online

or in this room. Afterwards, I pray take each person by the hand

and tell them where they need to be, step by step, shaping their

journey in the name of Jesus, so they reach their potential in the Kingdom

of God that they bring why you want them to bring Lord and Jews now,

so they're bigger on the inside than they are on the outside because they

have spent time in the word of God. The Word of God can do

anything that God can do. We've got to be full of the word of

God to help these people and start in my voice online and in here to

be full of the Word of God. Help them to get to that place

in the image is God will not do it for you but he'll work with

you. This is not a baby spoon job. Now we do that with

your chuldren. We spoon feed them, you know. But you know we

need to take the word, open the way and fill ourselves with it.

God wants us to stretch to the next level. And we're all at different

points, so your level is different to my level. As long as you

stretch to the next level, that's where God wants you to be. So

let's do it together. Let's do it corporately. Let's build and see what

God will do in this town. This is our watch, it's our time.

It's up to us to make a difference. And when that starts with

the word of God, that starts with prayer, and then we see things

happen. Amen.
