So great to be here. I was going to start by saying that it's
-
a real privilege to be speaking this morning, but to be honest, I
-
got to say, it's a real plublage to worship with you guys today because
-
I really felt God's presence, I gotta say, And that for me is
-
the hahollmark of a fantastic church as a church where God is and that makes
-
all the difference. And I've a growing sense me, so before I get
-
into the message, I've growing sensing me whilst being here that God's just confirmed
-
again in the worship time there. This is a church that's God's on the
-
move. Believe it. Clem. Many of you know Clem Pherise. He
-
came to our church. We came recently, but it came about a year
-
or so ago. And one of th things he said to us is put
-
more chairs out because you're going to need it. And I was reminded of
-
that, and I want to encourage you with the same kind of thing.
-
I feel like God's the moving this place, and I think, get ready,
-
seriously, get ready, get ready for people coming in, and get
-
ready for problems. There are good problems to have, but problems of space
-
and problems of just trying to get around a number of people that's coming here
-
because God is on the moon. Amen. Amen, fantastic. Okay,
-
well, I was listening to Dave just the other week talk about harvest time.
-
He mentioned about how he really loves how there's an international feel to the
-
church is mentioned today as well, so you can actually say that you have
-
had a Yorkshireman come to your church. Okay. So I'm trying my best
-
not to speak in Yorkshire terms because there are no worship songs that you can
-
sing in Yorkshire. You can't say e by gum like and get the center
-
shop and all that type of stuff, but you can say that Yorksman coming.
-
And Lea does send her love. By the way, she was genuinely
-
gutted that she couldn't be here. It's just one of those things, a
-
little kind of a minium urgency yesterday that she just just she had to stay
-
at home. But she would have definitely been here if she could have been.
-
So I want to welcome everyone online as well. Thanks for tuning in.
-
You're a part of this just like everyone else is in the room.
-
So it's great to know that you're a part of this as well, and
-
so please drop in the chat, send the message in if you know you
-
listen to what we're saying, you want to say our men, you want
-
to get involved, you can do that as well, because we want to
-
be as much a part of this as everyone who was here in the room
-
today. As Dave said on Maritalia, we did that on purpose because it
-
needs you to remember just to beik star Wars, Luke Leah star Wars.
-
I really remember. We've got four kids. As Dad mentioned, we've got
-
hands Yoda if we've got Jared and Phoebe. Kezia is sixteen, Rubens thirteen,
-
and Jared and Phoebe your twins and they are eleven, and so we
-
have our handsful. Okay, let's get into the word. Let's just pray.
-
First, Father, we thank you, We thank you for this time
-
together. We pray Lord that we will be encouraged this morning. I pray
-
for the things I have to say, Lord will be of you and not
-
of myself. Lord, as I sought you this week. I believe that
-
this is a word You've given me for these people, and so I pray
-
to God it will land on good soil. I pray for that you're something
-
that will build and encourage people in Jesus' mighty name. Hey, I even
-
tried to remember your memory verse this week because I saw I saw you guys
-
give out chocolates, and I am a firm believer that you know, it's
-
a dream of mind to live in a world where chocolate is given away for
-
free and indiscriminately. So I hope I get an opportunity later or with some
-
chocolate zero calories. Yeah, yeah, I think you're beating Church is always
-
zero anyway. So I remember on an occasion where I was just I was
-
in the wrong place. I still work in office, and it had numerous
-
floors. It was quite a big office, and one day I needed to
-
go to the toilets, and the toilets on my floor were being renovated or
-
worked on, so I couldn't get into them. And normally I'd walk out
-
of my office door into the hallway and I turned left to go into the
-
toilets. So I went looking for more toilets, and there's toilets at every
-
single level in this building. So I went downstairs. I walked through the
-
office space downstairs, and I went out into the hallway and I turned left
-
like I always do and went into the bathroom. Immediately, I realized I
-
felt something was different about his bathroom. I couldn't figure out what it was,
-
and so I went into the cubicle and sat down, and after a
-
while I realized the difference was there were no urinals in this toilet, and
-
also it smelt a lot better than almost fragrance. And it wasn't until I
-
here's to let our heels that I was I just say left. I was
-
in the wrong place, and it was. It led to a very awkward
-
moment. I remember a different time where Lee and I we went to someone's
-
wedding and we didn't know them that well. Actually we've been invited. It
-
was like a church connection. Leah's dad was the pastor of the church at
-
the time, and so there's this church connection between the two churches, and
-
so we were representing a little bit the church. And so we got ready,
-
we went to all the pros. I mean, I hate wearing shirts
-
and ties and stuff like that, so I'm wearing shirts and ties. It's
-
warm outside. It was summer like it is today, and I was just
-
I was really not enjoying the fact that I had to get dressed up.
-
But anyway, it's what you do weddings, right, So I went along
-
to the venue and we started looking around. This is a big venue and
-
it had various different rooms with different weddings going on. So he looked around.
-
I went to one room and that was not the people that we expected.
-
So we went to a different room, not the people we expected.
-
Went to the last room. I thinking this is ridiculous. Sure it should
-
be better signage. We should be able to find a wedding of our friends,
-
and so we went to his third room, not their wedding, which
-
is really strange. So we wrang up my father in law and said,
-
this is where's this supposed to be. We made a mistake. He said
-
it's next week. So I was annoyed. We didn't even go to the
-
wedding next week and forget it. Forget it. I'm not going, I'm
-
not getting ready. Twice it was I was in the wrong place, that's
-
the wrong time. Sorry, there was this wrong time where I was in
-
the wrong place at the wrong time, and then we've been in the wrong
-
place at the wrong time at the same time. So when I was a
-
teenager, we were out. The other friend of mine was out walking down
-
a back path and there was this like woodland area. Used to be a
-
quarry on the side of this, and then the other site was the backs
-
of these houses. We're walking down this path looking for something to do,
-
and when you were a teenage boy, what's better to do than climb trees.
-
And so we saw this massive tree was perfect for climbing. There was
-
branches all the way down, and so we got to we saw this tree.
-
But the problem was is that as the quarry ended, there was a
-
fenced off area where some industrial estate was, where these industrial factories were,
-
and so it was on the land, on the private land of these factories,
-
and so the fence, we know we can we can't climb this tree.
-
Never mind, we started walking a bit further down and discovered a hole
-
in the fence and thought, hmm, okay, we think we can probably
-
get away with sneaking through the fence climb because on the other side there was
-
all these bushes, bushes and more trees and whatever. Climb through all the
-
bushes and trees and get to this tree and climb it and it would be
-
amazing. So that's what we did. We climbed this tree at the top
-
of the tree. This is fantastic. I can't believe it made it to
-
this tree and no one's no one even knows we're here. It's fine.
-
And so we heard police silence going off, and now we didn't know,
-
but apparently there was some crazy man who was running around with a bb gun
-
shooting people, and the police were looking for him, but we thought they
-
were looking for us. So we plan it so like this. This is
-
really in the wrong place at the wrong time, and so we quickly climbed
-
down the tree and I started to head back through the bushes and through the
-
kind of the brush to get back to his whole fence. But my friend
-
saw that at some point they chopped down some of the trees and they piled
-
up the looks and the branches to one side against the fence, and he
-
said to me, look, if we climb up those branches and trees now
-
we can get over the fence. It'd be a lot quicker and we'll be
-
able to get away. I'm not getting in trouble, and that's what I'm
-
doing because I don't know if that's safe. I don't know if those branches
-
could hold our weight. So when I went back through the bushes and took
-
a bit longer to get to the hole the fence, but halfway through me
-
climbing through the bushes, I hear this loud, cracking noise and then this
-
high pitched scream that could only be uttered by a young man having certain parts
-
of his body tore off. I got through the hole in the fence and
-
I ran back to see what happened, and my friend had popped his leg
-
over the fence just as the branches broke, and he was straddled over the
-
top of the fence, screaming like a little girl. And I just pulled
-
him down quick and I quickly got to get away and nothing. He wasn't
-
injured, but it was definitely just the wrong place at the wrong time.
-
Has anyone been in the wrong place at the wrong time before? It's not
-
a good place to be. And today I want to talk to you though,
-
about someone who actually was in the right place at the right time,
-
but they didn't want to be Oh yes, sure, can I Okay?
-
Do I sound deeper? Now? I want to talk to you about Esther.
-
I'll give it a con text before they get to the verse that probably
-
you're all anticipating, because there's a verse in Esta that everyone knows. I
-
want to give you some context first, just to set the scene a little
-
bit. Esther is in exile, the Israelites in exile, and Esther is
-
one of those people, and she's lost her family. She'd been looked after
-
by her uncle. And one day the king aside he wants a new wife.
-
We've all been there joke. Hopefully Lee is not watching this online joke.
-
Love my wife. She's the best, but he fell out with his
-
wife. Decided because he's a king, he can just choose another wife.
-
So they go out and they look for the most beautiful women in the land,
-
and they find Esther and they bring her in and they give her this
-
whole beauty treatment regime, and she's called into the king ever so often.
-
She gets to talk to him and he gets to get to know her a
-
bit, and kind of like the Bible's version of like X Factor auditions,
-
she goes in. If he likes her, she gets to stay around kind
-
of thing, and ever so often, and he call them in to chat
-
to her and to get to know a bit. Then there's this guy,
-
though, a quite important guy called Hayman, and he falls out with Esther's
-
uncle Mordecai. They don't Modechai, won't bow down to him, he won't
-
honor him, and so Hayman plops this this scheme, plans his scheme to
-
not just get rid of Mordecai, but to get rid of all of Mordecai's
-
people. It's a really vindictive person, is Haymen. And so he convinces
-
the king that the Jewish nation Israelites are bad news. And so he convinces
-
him that that you know, on a certain day that we can allow people
-
basically to kill the Israelites and take all their stuff. It's a good thing,
-
he thinks. So he convinced them, and Mordecai finds out about this,
-
send out all the notifications, and Mordechai finds out, and he's absolutely
-
distraught. He basically does, I would say from Yorkshire, palls a paddy.
-
He has a tantrum, He puts sacloth on, he goes and he
-
cries loudly in the town center and and he lets everyone know that he's really
-
upset. And Esther finds out about this and sends a Mester and says,
-
what are you doing. I hear's some clothes, put some clothes on and
-
and and you know, stop making a scene kind of thing. And he
-
replies and says, I can't because because humans arranged for all our people to
-
be killed. He says, you've got to go into the king's presence and
-
ask him for mercy and put a stop to this. In other words,
-
he says to her, look, you're the only person who is positioned to
-
do this in the right place at the right time. And Esta says,
-
don't you realize if I go into the King's presence without him calling me in,
-
then he can kill me. That's the usual routine that I'm supposed to
-
be called in. And if I'm not called, if anyone in without being
-
called then unless the king is feeling gracious towards them, their executor for it.
-
So he's not even asked to see me for a month. In other
-
words, he's probably lot a bit of interest in me. He's probably speaking
-
to one of the other ladies and he's not really bothered about me. And
-
so if I go in there now, the like it is is the King's
-
going to kill me. And this is what Mordecai says in response in Esther
-
four verses twelve to fourteen, he says that he sent back this answer,
-
do you not think that I do not think that because you are in the
-
King's house, that you alone of all the Jews will escape. For if
-
you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise
-
from another place, but you and your father's family will perish. And then
-
it comes to the verse that we love to quote, and who knows but
-
that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this most
-
you know the end of the story Esther, She decides to go ahead with
-
it. Then she goes into the King's presence grants her grace. She explains,
-
after several parties, I'm not really show that the purpose of those were
-
by the several parties. She explains situation. She explains how Harman's vindictive and
-
trying to wipe out her nation. She convinces the king to actually to kill
-
Harman instead and to create a situation whether Israelites can be free from this edict,
-
this rule that the kingyard had already put out. And it's a massive
-
victory saves the day. It's incredible. I want to just look at a
-
few things from this story that I think will help us in our own walk
-
with God. And you want here play chess, one person, Norman,
-
do you play chess? No? No, no grace there at all,
-
Like, no, No, she's wrong, she's I started to I used
-
to play chess when I was a kid. I learned how to play with
-
a kid. But then recently we're doing some like interest groups in our church,
-
and one of them was this chess thing, and so we do it
-
actually via an app, and we chat on the app and stuff, and
-
we played chess together, and so I got learning. I started playing chess
-
again, and I got thinking about chess. They preparing this, I thought,
-
you know, can you imagine if you were playing chess for a minute,
-
you set the whole thing up on the table, and then as you
-
started to play, you kind of crouched down and looked through the pieces to
-
the board and played the whole game looking through the pieces. You wouldn't do
-
it, would you. The way you play chess is you look from above
-
looking down, because from above looking down you have the perspective to see exactly
-
what's going on all over the place. If you crouched down, you can
-
only see what's right in front of you, and you haven't got the perspective
-
to see actually where you should move them to planning such a way to win,
-
to have victory. Can imagine if a poem turned round to the person
-
playing chess and said, leave it with me. I know what to do.
-
There's no problem, I'll win this game for you. It wouldn't happen.
-
And you're the same with God. And I think Mordekai knew this.
-
Mordekai says to Esther. He says, if you remain silent at this time,
-
relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place. I've read
-
Esther so many times, and I focus every time on the verse that talks
-
about being positioned for such a time as this, that I've missed what Mordecai
-
says. Mordecai's faith is not in Esther. Mordekai's faith is in God.
-
And he's saying, Esther, your position for such a time as this,
-
But if you decide not to go ahead and do what needed to be done
-
to save your people, God will find another way. God's got plan ABC.
-
God knows the plan. God can see everything from above. God's plan
-
is perfect. Monaka. I knew that God had a plan. But Esther's
-
choice wasn't Shall I save the Israelites or shann't I? Esther's choice was simply
-
this. Do I want to be a part of God's plan? And I
-
think God's inviting all of us to play a part in his plan. To
-
trust him for the plan, and to trust that when we're in the right
-
place at the right time, that we can play an important part of his
-
plan. God has a plan? Do you want to be part of it?
-
And we read often we quote Jeneremiah twenty nine, verse eleven. I
-
bet you can all say off by heart, for I know the plans I
-
have for you, declares the Lord plans. I prossiber you not to harm
-
your plans to give you a hope and a future. And I've done it
-
myself. You cut that verse to yourself. God's got great plans for me.
-
God's got great plans for me. Or sometimes I read it and I
-
go, God's oh, yeah, I can't wait. God's God's gonna provide
-
me with the house, and provide me with the car, provide me with
-
the money, provide me with the job, and yes, I believe all
-
those things. But the truth is I'm playing a part in God's plan.
-
God's not playing a part in my plan. God's got a plan. Do
-
you want to be part of it? And we might never see the reason
-
for the plan. We might never know the bigger picture on some things.
-
Sometimes we will, but the truth remains, God has a plan, he
-
has a higher purpose. He's working things around for good and we get the
-
wonderful privilege of being a part of it. So I want to ask you
-
today where are you relying on your own plans? Because that's where God So
-
that's where you are blind to God's plan. The second thing I want to
-
talk to you about with this from this this passage of scripture is, you
-
know, recently I married my brother and sister in law. I found that
-
strange saying that as a minister. I know it means that I performed the
-
ceremony, but it sounds like there was some kind of weird three way relationship
-
going on. That's what I married them, so as in I officiated the
-
service, and like all weddings, and you'll, I would imagine, mostly
-
been a part of a wedding. At some point after the wedding, you
-
go and you have the photographs. Yes, And so we went to have
-
the photographs and like like like you like you expect. The camera man was
-
there and he looked for the best possible place for the photograph. And then
-
what he did is is he he positioned everybody perfectly. So it's right,
-
I want you to come over there a bit and I can have all the
-
bride's family up first, and I want you over there, and Dad,
-
can you move around the back over there please? And you over there?
-
Can you just turn slightly this way? He positioned it perfectly. Now,
-
my son Jared, he's a little bit awkward it comes to photographs. So
-
when you know, most people go to a photograph, they say, smile
-
and you smile and it's nice. How genuine it is. Look, it's
-
nice, you think about nice things and you smile. My son Jared,
-
though, when you sit to him smile, he goes this. He can't
-
put a genuine smile. This is really weird. He's got the best sense
-
of humor, the best laugh, the best smile when it's genuine. But
-
put a camera in front of him and he's like like this, Monechai says
-
to Esther, who knows that you have come to your royal position for such
-
a time as this, Just like that, Cameron, Man is positioning people.
-
God is positioning you. He's positioning you the whole time. And our
-
job as Christ followers is to be positioned by him and then to what smile,
-
to have the right attitude towards saving our God. God positions us,
-
but we position our heart one Samuel sixteen, verse seven. People look at
-
the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. As human beings,
-
we have an attraction to how things look, to how things feel,
-
to what things do. We spend a vast amount of time thinking and working
-
and working for where we want to be and how we want to be perceived
-
and what we want to do. But before we do anything, before we
-
look a certain way, before we ever get to where we want to be,
-
before we ever have the things that we want to have, God is
-
looking at our hearts. A heart that is positioned to serve God belongs to
-
a person that God can position for his plan. The bigger the heart position,
-
the bigger the position in the plan. God. Listen, God does
-
not need your good looks. Thank Goodness for that. God doesn't need your
-
good looks. He doesn't need your money, he doesn't need your time,
-
he doesn't need your position or socialtard status. He doesn't need anything that you
-
can bring to the chessboard. He just wants your heart. He can do
-
anything if you give him your heart. So I'll ask you a question,
-
what areas of your heart are you reserving for what you want? Because that's
-
the area in your life that God won't move. I recently went to the
-
gym on Saturday. I never go on a Saturday. I always go using
-
Monday to Friday. I mean in the gym every day, but then I
-
have the weekend off. And this one week, just a couple of weeks
-
back, I missed a day in the week, and so I'll go on
-
Saturday instead. It was quiet and I went in bout it quite when I
-
first got there. It got busier and so I did my workout routine,
-
and then I had to go and speak to the gym owner. It's a
-
small gym, and I've known the guy for eight years now, be going
-
there for about eight years. Got a decent relationship. We don't always chat
-
most times morning morning and that's it. But occasionally have we have chats.
-
And I went on this occasion up to speak to him about something I need
-
to ask a favor of him. And we were chatting and he got onto
-
complaining, moaning about how difficult things were for him with the gym since COVID,
-
you know, financially, and some of the struggles he was having.
-
He was just he was unburdening himself. And I was just listening, thinking,
-
why I think I've come to day to train, That's all I come
-
to do. But you know, I can spend a bit of time and
-
listen to a friend. It's not a problem. And so he's chatting away
-
and then he turns onto his the conversation on to his health and he had
-
some health issues. I knew about it, tom Me about it before,
-
and so's he's he's chat away about his health and he's getting more and more
-
worked up, and he just he's just talking and talking, and I just
-
got to sense a real desperation in him, and he's getting more upset,
-
and I started to get upset. I'm thinking, I care about this guy,
-
like I've known him for eight years now. I genuinely and he's telling
-
me all this stuff. He's getting upset and he tears the sort of fall
-
down his face, and then I started to get emotional and tears the phone
-
down my face and I said, look mate, I said, I've known
-
you for eight years. I don't just come here because like it's the gym,
-
like I come for you as well. I care about you. I
-
genuinely care about your power. I mean hugging and crying together, and he's
-
he's absolutely weeping in my arms, and the whole gym is looking and my
-
heart was completely broken for him in that moment in time. And as we're
-
they're just both crying, I said that I love your mat. I love
-
him, and I said, I said, I just couldn't leave without praying
-
for him. And so I said, kind I pray for you, and
-
he said, yes, please keep praying for me. And he knows I've
-
been praying for him before. I said, I'll be praying for your man
-
as I've left, you know, So he knows I pray pray for him
-
at times. And I was like, no, I had his urgency.
-
I have to do this now. I have to pray for you now because
-
my heart's breaking for it, And so in the in the middle of the
-
gym, with everyone looking, with two big blokes crying with arms round each
-
other, I'm saying, Jesus healing, Jesus, give it, you know,
-
give him the finances, and Jesus bless his business, Jesus bless his
-
marriage, Jesus look after him, heal him because I love him, God,
-
and I need you to step in and do something. And then we
-
just we hooked and he says like, thank you so much. And I
-
left and I got in the car and I cried all the way home,
-
and I watched my house and Leah's like, what's wrong. What happened?
-
You went to the gym, I said, I just went to work out.
-
I wasn't even in a good mood. I just want to be left
-
alone, I said. By having this conversation, and I never I never
-
expected to happen, it was so powerful, and I was able to pray
-
for Ryan in front of everybody in the entire gym. Was it was such
-
a good moment and I never anticipated it. I never knew that was going
-
to happen that day when I decided to go to the gym. And the
-
point I want to make is my third and foul point is Esther's time in
-
this story was now. It was now. It wasn't let me think about
-
it for a while. She acted in the moment. The person that you're
-
sat next to now, they may need your encouragement or prayer. Now.
-
The home that you're going back to may need the peace that you can bring
-
now. The workplace you're going to tomorrow may need your gospel message now.
-
That friend that you have now may need your forgiveness and your acceptance. The
-
church that you're in now, I won't say may need your service, does
-
need your service. We sometimes read that scripture about being positioned for such a
-
time as this and thinking, yes, it's that big moment, that big
-
moment for Esther, But God's been positioning you since the very start. Every
-
single day that you walk around this planet, you are God's servant to be
-
used now, and you never know when it's the right time, the right
-
place for you to be God's servant. You can change someone's life walking to
-
the shops. You can be that beacon of hope in that dark work foot
-
workplace. You can be that person who shows up earlier on a Sunday to
-
help set up and pack down. I gotta say, I've not been here
-
for a while. I've just seen you guys come here in days. I
-
know you've been such a great blessing to Dave and Julia. I got to
-
say, I see your hearts. I really see your hearts. I think
-
it's fantastic. Keep going because I think when I was talking early about God
-
doing something in this place, it's through God's presence being here, and it's
-
through the worship. I think if you guys can get people through the door,
-
God's Holy Spirit will do the rest. I mean, so play your
-
part. Play your part, pick up your tools, do something. Help
-
in some way. You never know how God can use you because you are
-
always in the right place at the right God's not waiting to position you.
-
He's been positioning you since the very start. We just have to wake up
-
to that. James two, verse fourteen to nineteen says, what good is
-
it, my brothers and sisters? If someone claims to have faith but has
-
no deeds, can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or sister is
-
without clothes and daily food. If one of you say to them, go
-
in peace, keep warm and well fed. But there's nothing about their physical
-
needs. What good is it? In the same way, faith by itself,
-
if he's not accompanied by action, is dead. But someone will say
-
you is talking to James the writer. You have faith, but I have
-
deeds. But James says, no, you show me your faith without deeds.
-
But I'll share my faith by what I do. God's called you for
-
such a time as this, So I'll ask you a third and five question,
-
what thing do you believe you need to do? But the fear seems
-
too great because that's where the miracle happened. In that moment, hugging Ryan
-
the gym owner, with everyone watching, I had a choice, just like
-
Esther did. Do I do the thing that's going to bring God into the
-
situation or do I run away? Do I walk away? Do let it
-
go? And I chose in that moment. I don't always choose, but
-
in that moment, because my heart was so broken him, I chose to
-
bring God into it. And it was a powerful moment. There's powerful moments
-
for eaching every one of you, because God's positioned you for such a time
-
as this. Amen, Amen, now this message today, I was thinking
-
about it. I've preached an awful lot of message in my time where I'm
-
trying to rev people up into serving church more or whatever, and that's not
-
what the heart behind what I'm saying today at all. I just think there's
-
been so much focus in churches who preach messages about, you know, people's
-
callings and people's destiny. I'm tired of trying it myself great, tired of
-
trying it myself look good. I've just come to a conclusion, after many,
-
many years and trials and things that God's brought me through, that I
-
exist for one reason, one reason only to serve His purposes and to make
-
him look great and to glorify him. So God's inviting you today. He's
-
saying, Hey, normOn, I'm doing something pretty amazing. Do you want
-
in? He's saying, Hey, Dave, I'm doing something amazing in this
-
place. Do you want in? He's saying, Jonathan, I'm doing something
-
amazing in this space. Letty, I'm doing something amazing in your life if
-
you'll let me. Do you want in? Do you want to be a
-
part of my plan? I have the privilege of leading the church, as
-
Dave said in Sheffield and a Church. I love my church so much and
-
when I come to places like this. I fall in love with places like
-
this as well, And there isn't being because we have the same heart.
-
I do, gen you mean that that's what I love about life links we
-
all have the same heart. But I love my church and I love it
-
because it's full of incredible and generous and loving people. And I never feel
-
qualified to lead it, and I never feel deserving of the attention and the
-
respect that people give me. They are so good to me. But there
-
is one reason and one reason only that I've seen God move at times in
-
my life, and that's when there was a chance to attend a service,
-
I SUI yes. And when I was asked to stat chairs at church,
-
I said yes. And when I was asked to serve on production team and
-
set up all that stuff and spend countless I was fixing wires, and I
-
mean, Dave and Julia remember me at life thinks conference running around sweating like
-
I'm doing now, not because of the heat, because I was trying to
-
fix some speaker that wasn't working or something. When I was asked to serve
-
on production, I said yes. When I was asked to set up for
-
parent and toddlers every single week before school, I said yes. And when
-
I was asked to clean the church every single Saturday, I said yes.
-
And when I was asked to lead the production team because no one else wanted
-
to, I said yes. And then when I when I heard that the
-
church needed youth helpers in the youth team and I could. I couldn't at
-
the time, even I couldn't even walk at the time. I had an
-
hour in a car accidental water for five years. But because there was a
-
need, I said yes. And when the church needed someone to develop its
-
media because it had no media. There was no Facebook page, there was
-
no images and graphics and all type of stuff, even though I knew nothing
-
about it, I said yes, I'll figure it out if you need it.
-
And when I got asked to lead the youth team, me and Leah
-
together I said well, we said yes, And when we asked to when
-
we were asked to lead the kids team, we said, guess what.
-
Yes. And when I was asked to join the leadership team at the church,
-
I said yes. When I got asked to join the trustee team,
-
I said yes. And then one day when the church needed a new pastor,
-
we said yes. Nothing, there's no rocket science, just about glorifying
-
God and saying yes, being in the right place at the right time,
-
and giving him your your own And you know, when I put out that,
-
it kind of sounds easy, but it's not, because the devil will
-
try and get on the back of everyone who'll be saying yes. But it's
-
worth it. Esther Nearly said no. God has a plan, and its
-
plan will lead people to eternal salvation and freedom from all the things that hurt
-
and buying them up. And you are positioned for that plan. Just say
-
yes, amen, Amen, can we pray it's cause, in fact,
-
let's have a response. I'm not planning. But you know, maybe maybe
-
today God's been steering your heart. Maybe today you want to re commit yourself
-
to saying yes. Maybe you want to ask God to open your eyes more
-
to those moments in your life where he's looking for you, to recognize that
-
you're there at the right place at the right time, so that he can
-
do something powerful for you. Then if that's you today, why don't you
-
just while no one's looking, raise your hand and I'll pray for you and
-
will pray and believe that God's going to do something powerful in your life.
-
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.
-
Amen Amen, Ah God, thank you so much for the people who have
-
raised their hands. And pray from Father that you will, even from the
-
moment that this service has finished, Lord, you'll create little God moments where
-
they can be u as powerfully as part of your plan. I pray Lord
-
that you will begin to open their eyes to every single situation in their life
-
where they can bring life and hope and joy and peace to be Jesus in
-
that situation. I pray, Lord God for miraculous moments, for times low
-
where people come to know You because of these folk who have stepped and said,
-
I want to be used by you God. Whatever it may be,
-
whether it's stacking chairs, whether it's praying for somebody, whether it's serving in
-
production, whatever it may be. I pray, Oh God, that will
-
be powerful moments as a result where lives get changed. I pray for this
-
church Lord as well. I thank you for that word. Lord, you
-
gave me that confirmation that you were on the move in this place. Lord.
-
We're excited to see what you're going to do. Lord. We're asking
-
for the harvest. I know they've preached it last week we're asking for the
-
harvest. The harvest is ripe. Lord, and you say that the workers
-
are few, will not in running me Christian Fellowship. There will be plenty
-
of workers here farther, because we're the ones who are going to say yes
-
and so follow bring the harvest in. In Jesus' mighty name, Father,
-
we pray that in quick time, Lord, that Lord, this room will
-
be completely f to the rafters. We pray for good problems. We pray
-
for double services. We pray for new buildings. We pray Father for movement
-
forward. We pray the Kingdom of God will be expanded in this place in
-
the mighty name of Jesus for your glory, so that we might lift up
-
your name even into a greater place in this area, so that people that
-
surround this church, Father will come to know you. They'll find that life
-
because we believe, Father that you have a plan and we want to be
-
part of it. Jesus name, Amen, Amen, Thank you ever so
-
much for listening, your patience and your enrolment. It's been a pleasure. And Dave
