  1. Morning here at Bethesa. If you have your Bibles, hope that you do.

  2. If you'll turn with me to First Chronicles, First Chronicles, chapter twenty

  3. two. This morning's First Chronicles, chapter twenty two taught on My sermon today

  4. is arise and work today. As we walk through this passage of scripture,

  5. I want to see. I want us to see together on what God's call

  6. is for us, his charge to us, his instructions for us. I

  7. don't know about you, but I am the type that I like to do

  8. one thing at a time. I like to if I have a task before

  9. I start on another task, I want to get that first task done.

  10. I don't like, you know, starting on something and getting on something and

  11. then I don't know about you, Sometimes when I get started on one task,

  12. all these thoughts of something ELSEIDE need to do come up, and then

  13. I get sidetracks. A lot of times I write down those things so I

  14. can do them later. Even shopping, like I am at one type.

  15. Man. We went into that store for one thing, We're going first to

  16. that one thing. Now. Bless my wife's heart, she's totally different.

  17. The other week, just the other week, we went to a store and

  18. we went in for the wedding. We were going to get some coffee syrup.

  19. We were going into the store for a coffee syrup. I'll walk in

  20. and Brandy's got cup cake plates and cake stands, and I thought, where's

  21. the coffee SRT. I mean, that's what we came in here for.

  22. So my mind, as we go in, we get the coffee syrup,

  23. then we can look at something else. And so constantly was we were shopping.

  24. I said, Brannie, stay on task. Brannie, stay on task.

  25. She's off everywhere. So I don't know about you, but I like

  26. to stay on task now in our lives. I don't want you to think

  27. about has God called you to a task and the task that God's called you

  28. to, have you completed it? Or has things in your life come about

  29. that have gotten you off task or off the task that God has called you

  30. to do. I think I've shared with you before when I was in college,

  31. my freshman year or in my sophomore year, I had a car accident.

  32. And in that car accident, I had put my head through a windshield,

  33. and I remember sitting in the ambulance on the way to the hospital,

  34. and I really didn't know how bad my injuries were, and I was contemplating

  35. it was just the end for Jonathan. And I remember in the hospital,

  36. I mean sitting in the ambulance on the way to the hospital, as I

  37. was contemplating whether I was going to make it or not. I was not

  38. worried about whether I would go to heaven or hell. I knew I had

  39. a relationship with the Lord. I knew I was going to go to heaven.

  40. What broke me that day was God, I know, You've put me

  41. on this earth for a task, and I knew at that point I had

  42. not been faithful to do what God called me to do. And I felt

  43. like in that moment, God was giving me another opportunity to complete the task.

  44. You know, as we come to the end of the year into twenty

  45. twenty three, as you look at the last year, just span over your

  46. last year of your life. I don't know what God's called you to do

  47. last year. I don't know whether you stayed on task or you got off

  48. task. But I tell you this today, I can tell you with all

  49. confidence today God's given you another day. God's going to give you another year

  50. to complete the task that God has before you. And so today, as

  51. we look at this pastor of scripture, I want you to see what God's

  52. called us to to tie this sermon as we walk through it, use three

  53. different parts of this passage. This morning, we're going to see God's work,

  54. We're going to see God's instructions, and we're gonna see God's charge.

  55. And this morning I want you to consider God, did have I completed what

  56. You've called me to do? How am I staying on task? And how

  57. am I following your work? How am I following your instructions? How God

  58. am I obeying your charge? So let's stand and let's read God's word together.

  59. It's first Chronicles twenty two, and we're going to start in verse six.

  60. This morning, this is what the Bible says. This is the word

  61. of the Lord. Then he called Solomon for his son and charged him to

  62. build a house of the Lord, the God of Israel. David said to

  63. Solomon, my son, I had it in my heart to build a house

  64. of the to the name of the Lord, my God. But the Lord,

  65. the Lord came to me, saying, you shall you have shed much

  66. blood and have waged great wars, and you shall not build a house to

  67. my name because you have shed so much blood before me, and on earth.

  68. Behold, a son shall be born to you and to you, and

  69. who shall be a man of rest. And I will give him rest from

  70. all his surrounding enemies, and for his for his name shall be Solomon,

  71. and I will give peace and quiet to Israel and to his in his days.

  72. And he shall build a house for my name, and he shall be

  73. build my and he shall be my son, and I will be his father,

  74. and I will establish his royal throne in Israel forever. David says in

  75. verse eleven. Now, my son, the Lord be with you, so

  76. you may succeed in building the House of the Lord your God. As he

  77. has spoken concerning you. Only may the Lord grant you discretion and understanding,

  78. and that he and that when he gives you your you charge over Israel.

  79. You may keep the law the Lord your God. Then you will prosper if

  80. you're careful to reserve the statutes and the rules that the Lord commanded. Moses,

  81. visual be strong and courageous. Fear not, do not be dismayed,

  82. for with great pains, I've provided for the House of the Lord one one

  83. hundred thousand talents of gold, and a million talents of silver and bronze and

  84. iron beyond weight, for there is so much of it. Timber and stone

  85. too, I have provided to these you must add. And you have an

  86. abundance of workmen, stonecutters, masons, carpenters, and all kinds of Christmas

  87. without numbers killed in working gold, silver, bronze and iron. Arise and

  88. work. The Lord be with you. And David also commanded all the leaders

  89. of visual to help Solomon's son, saying, is that not the Lord your

  90. God with you, has not giving you peace on every side, For has

  91. delivered the inhabitants of the land, and too my hand, and the land

  92. is subdued before the Lord is. People. Now set your mind, listen

  93. to this and your heart to see the Lord your God. Arise and build

  94. the sanctuary of the Lord your God, so that the ark of the Covenant

  95. of the Lord and the holy vessels of God may be brought into the house

  96. built for the name of the Lord. Let's pray together, Father, I

  97. thank you for this morning. I thank you that to who you've brought here

  98. to the service, and those who are watching on TV and online. God,

  99. we know that this is a time that we have given ourselves as a

  100. church body to worship you, to hear your word. Say the Lord,

  101. I pray today that you might feel me, that I might decrease, God,

  102. that you might give me your words, and Lord, I would declare,

  103. Lord, what you want for your people Today, Lord, we long

  104. to hear from you, God, So speak Father. Today we pray,

  105. give us hearts to hear, a will to obey, And Lord, may

  106. we listen for you today. God, God, may you move in this

  107. place in a way that only you can. Lord, Father, we ask

  108. in your name. We pray, Amen, you may be seated. So

  109. again, there's three parts of the sermon. When you see God's work,

  110. which you see God's instructions in God's charge. First, let's look at God's

  111. work. The Bible says David comes to his son Solomon, and he has

  112. a message for his son Solomon. The first thing he says in verse eight.

  113. Look, he says that David said to Solomon, and verse seven,

  114. my son, I had in my heart to build the house of the name

  115. of the Lord, my God. But the word came to me saying,

  116. you have shed much blood and have waged great wars, and you shall not

  117. build the house of my name, because you've shed so much blood before me.

  118. Behold, a son shall be born to you, and he shall be

  119. a man of rest, and I will give him rest from all his surrounding

  120. enemies. And for his name shall be Solomon. David comes to Solomon,

  121. says to Solomon, I want you to know the God spoke to me,

  122. and so I don't want you to know. God spoken to me that God's

  123. got a plan for you, and I want you to understand. For David,

  124. he understands this was God's work. God's work was that God was going

  125. to give him a son. And then that son that God was going to

  126. give him, God was going to give that sum with the gifts that he

  127. was needed, the talents that he's needed to build the House of the Lord.

  128. Here David is planning to build a temple, and here he comes to

  129. Solomon. He assures him, Solomon, God's created you for this, which

  130. you see. He explains that in verse eight and ten, he says,

  131. in verse ten, he shall here's God's instructions. God shall, I mean

  132. God's work. He shall build a house for my name, and he shall

  133. be my son, and I will be his father, and I'll establish his

  134. royal throne. He explains to Solomon, Solomon, God has chosen you for

  135. this. God created you for this. God created you for this purpose.

  136. Verse ten says that He says thirdly that Solomon, God created you for this.

  137. God's given you purpose for this, and You're going to do this for

  138. the Lord. You see in all the things of God orchestrating different things in

  139. your life, Solomon, my son, God did this for a purpose,

  140. and God wants to use you that you might bring glory to his name.

  141. Do you just think about that just a minute for you and your life.

  142. You know that God created you for a purpose. God's created you for a

  143. task. And just as God uniquely equipped Solomon with gifts, with wisdom,

  144. with different things for the purpose of building the temple, God's uniquely given you

  145. talents and gifts that you might be used to bring glory to his name.

  146. Have you ever thought about that? Have you ever considered, Lord, what

  147. are the gifts and the talents that You've given me? And that I might

  148. use those gifts and talents that you created in me for a purpose that I

  149. might give glory to your name. I don't know about you. I think

  150. all of us can think about people in our lives that are gifted. I

  151. can think about a friend of mine that we were friends in college and just

  152. a man who was uniquely gifted. And he was gifted with a voice.

  153. It had one of the most incredible voices I've ever heard vocally, But you

  154. know, as much as he was gifted with that voice and gifted to sing,

  155. he didn't like to use the gift. He didn't like to sing.

  156. He did sing, and he would do it for school and for different things

  157. at church occasionally, but he didn't like to use the gift. And I

  158. think many of us know stories and now times past twenty years of past,

  159. and I'm sure he's probably using his gift in an incredible way now, but

  160. then he didn't want to use that gift. And I think all of us

  161. can think about people that you know are gifted at different skills. Maybe it

  162. is craftsmanship, maybe it is vocally, maybe it is their personality. They're

  163. gifted with different things. Some are gifted with teaching, some are gifted to

  164. serve and just our servant. Some are gifted with hospitality. And you've ever

  165. met people who are gifted in such a way, but they don't want to

  166. use their gifts for the Lord. And you have thought, and I have

  167. thought, oh what a waste man. They use these gift in different areas.

  168. But what if they would just use that gift for the Lord. I

  169. want to ask you today God's work today as we look at this passage of

  170. scripture, God's work is a work of equipping you and gifting you to be

  171. used for His glory. You ever thought about that? What is God doing

  172. today? One of the thing that God has done already today as we come

  173. to this passage scripture, is he already equipped you with the gifts and the

  174. talents that's needed that you might be used for His glory? Says you come

  175. today and you think about last twenty twenty three and whether that I use what

  176. was that on task? Do what God asked me to do? Can I

  177. tell you part of God's work already is He's already given you everything you needed.

  178. He's already given you everything you need to accomplish the task that was His

  179. work. Now it's left up to you whether you're going to do your work

  180. and completing the task. Maybe this year is this year that God's given you

  181. another chance. He's given you another chance to use to do the work that

  182. he's done with giving you the gifts and doing that for the glory of the

  183. Lord. I want you see. Secondly, God's instructions. So he comes

  184. to Solomon. He says, I want you to tell you, Solemn and

  185. God's done at work already, and that work is that God's given me a

  186. word. And that word is that God has raised you up. God's raising

  187. you up to build a temple for his name, and God's given you the

  188. skills. God's given you the talents, and you're going to do it for

  189. the Lord and for the glory of the Lord's name. That's God's works.

  190. I'm Solomon, It's already been completed. Now he comes to Solemn money and

  191. gives God's instructions. Look at verse eleven. He says, now, my

  192. son, the Lord be with you so that you may succeed in but building

  193. the house of the Lord your God, as he has spoken to concerning you.

  194. So he says, okay, now, son, God has done his

  195. work. He's given you all the talents and that you need to do the

  196. task. Now, I want to give you some instruction. Son, I

  197. want to make sure you're successful. And that's how he begins that the Lord

  198. may be with you, and that you may succeed in the task. And

  199. what is the task? Building the house of the Lord. So he wants

  200. to give him instructions God's instruction. Look at verse twelve. Here's the first

  201. instruction. Only may the Lord grant you discretion and understanding, that when he

  202. gives you a charge of Isuel, you may keep the law of the Lord,

  203. your God. The first instruction that God has for Solomon is Solomon,

  204. set your minds to seek only the Lord. Look at this passage of script

  205. sure in verse twelve. He says, in verse eleven, here's God's destructions

  206. that you may succeed. And here's the verse instruction, Only may the Lord

  207. grant you discretion and understanding. The word only there is is commonly in the

  208. Hebrew no one or nothing else, the idea that no one or nothing else

  209. may give you understanding or discretion or guide you in completing the tasks the imagery

  210. here that Solomon's saying, and just follow the passages of scripture in verses twelve,

  211. Only may what may the Lord grant you discretion? You know what his

  212. first instruction is to Solomon, Solomon, set your mind to seek only the

  213. Lord's will, his instructions, his directions. You know, many years ago,

  214. we Oprah had a she would have her TV show back then, and

  215. she was interviewing Joelstein. She was bringing Joel Elsteen in and she wanted to

  216. he was still very popular back then, and as she's probably ten years back

  217. and then that in that interview, she wanted to ask Joel Olsten what his

  218. view is whether Jesus was the only way. She also wanted to get Joelsteine's

  219. view on homosexuality and what he thought about whether Jesus is the only way or

  220. and what Joelstein believed about homosexuality. Can I tell you today, it really

  221. doesn't matter what Oprah Winfrey says about whether Jesus is the only way. It

  222. really doesn't matter what Oprah Winfrey says about homosexuality. It really doesn't matter what

  223. Joelsteine says about homosexuality, and what Joelstein says about Jesus is the only way.

  224. The only one who we should listen to for direction and wisdom and discretion

  225. in this life is only the Lord. And I tell you that because listen,

  226. there's so many of us in our lives. We say, God,

  227. I want to complete your task, but I want to look for instructions on

  228. how to do it from someone else besides you, Lord. I want to

  229. get wisdom and I want to get direction on on how I've used my life.

  230. I want to get wisdom and direction from my friends, or from my

  231. family, or from some person I see as wise in the world or better

  232. yet in our world today, I want to get wisdom from the culture and

  233. what the culture says is right or wrong for the direction of how I'm going

  234. to complete the task, David says to Solomon. Solomon, Okay, God's

  235. work is He's already given you everything you need. And now as you set

  236. on the task and accomplish what God has given you, can I tell you

  237. first, Son, the very most important thing that you start with is only

  238. listen to the Lord. Listen to all the other voices out there. Only

  239. set your mind and your heart to only listen. Look at the verse twelve.

  240. Only may only the Lord grant you discretion and understanding. Man, Too

  241. many times in our lives we fail at the task God's given us. It's

  242. because we're listening to other voices besides the Lord's, he says to Son God

  243. sets you on a task. God's got something for you. God's equipped you

  244. to do it, and Son, if you're going to have success, it

  245. starts with you only listen to God and only listening to the word of God.

  246. I want you to see. Secondly, this is really powerful here.

  247. Not only does David say to Solomon, Okay, if you're going to complete

  248. the task, want to hear God's work, which see God's instructions. The

  249. first structure of God is only listen to the voice of God. Secondly,

  250. instruction is set your heart to seek only him. Look at verse thirteen.

  251. Scripture says, and we'll leave re twelve up to thirteen. Only may the

  252. Lord grant you discretion and understanding that when he gives you a charge over Israel,

  253. you may keep. And here's the imagery the law the Lord your God,

  254. and listen to what verse thirteen. Then you'll prosper if feel careful to

  255. observe the statues and the rules that Lord commanded Moses for Israel. Be strong

  256. and courageous, do not fear, do not be dismayed. The first imagery

  257. there instruction for David was listen to only listen to the voice of God.

  258. Then the next part is not only will you only follow God's or hear from

  259. God's voice and get instructions from only the Lord, but supporting when you hear

  260. those things, to be faithful, to have a heart that obeys. So

  261. here the second instruction from the Lord is set your heart the Lord only to

  262. hear his voice and only his voice, to hear his instruction and only his

  263. instructions. But secondly, to have a heart to only obey the Lord and

  264. his commands. I think it's really important for you understand that as we come

  265. to this pastor of scripture, he says that your mind only hear from the

  266. Lord. Set your heart only obey the Lord. And as you follow the

  267. verse you see David says here in verse thirteen, then you will prosper.

  268. Right, if you have a heart and you had a mind I only listen

  269. to the voice of God and not listen to all the other voices of the

  270. world. If you have a heart to then obey what God tells you,

  271. then you'll want prosper. You know, as we come to this world and

  272. we come to our task, and we come to the different things that God's

  273. asked you to do and leading you to do. Is giving you the gifts

  274. to do it. And as you start thinking about what does God want me

  275. to do? Was instructions for me? Then you have to go to the

  276. next part. Well, second, lea, or do I have a heart

  277. to obey it? You know, it's one thing today. I mean,

  278. there's so many people here today, and there's so many people watching online,

  279. and some of you are been faithful. You've been part of the that's it

  280. for a long time. And it's not the first time you've heard me preach

  281. a sermon. It's not the first time you heard the word of God.

  282. So it's not really a problem where you've heard the instructions of God, right,

  283. you know the word of God. Some of the problem is not the

  284. first part. The problem is the second part. Am I really obeying what

  285. God has asked me to do? So it comes to the question, what's

  286. the problem? If I had the mind to comprehend the word of God and

  287. I'm only listening to the word of God and only really really God's word says,

  288. then why can I not complete the task? Why did I not complete

  289. the task in twenty twenty three? Well, why did I complete it a

  290. month ago? Why did God tell me to do something many many years ago,

  291. and today I still haven't ever done it. And the reason why is

  292. because listen, we did not have the heart to what obey. You know,

  293. as as a passage of Scripture I think is really troubling. I think

  294. it's not really troubling, it's really powerful verse. And the Bible verse is

  295. actually Matthew six nineteen through twenty one Jesus speaking, and Jesus says these words.

  296. He says, do not lay up your self treasures on earth, where

  297. mouth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and still, but lay

  298. up yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, where thieves

  299. do not break in and still. For where your treasure is, there your

  300. heart will also be. You know what Jesus is instructing there. He's instructing

  301. us to set our heart on things in heaven, or set a heart to

  302. heaven, because where heaven, where our heart is, Scripture says, there

  303. our treasure will be. And what he's saying there is what you love is

  304. what you worship. What you love is what you obey. You know the

  305. reason why many of us have not completed the ties that God has put before

  306. us. It's not an obedience issue. It's a heart issue. It's not

  307. a obedience issue. Listen to this. It's a love issue. We love

  308. something else more than we love what God has commanded us to do. This

  309. week, as you see these flowers, it's laying out here. This is

  310. flowers for my daughter's wedding. We wanted to get another use out of Amen.

  311. But this week we you know, we we did all kinds of different

  312. things and getting ready for the wedding. We on Christmas Day we ironed ironed

  313. boy, I'm a good ironer, ironed tablecloths to eleven o'clock on Christmas Day

  314. night. Yep, we we did all kinds of stuff. We got dressed

  315. up. We we spent time for doing different things. We did just we

  316. spent an enormous amount of time. We spend an enormous amount of money.

  317. But why do we do all that? Why don't we go through a great

  318. lens to make sure everything's right, to get all the right things, to

  319. get the cake plates even though we were only going for coffee, sir?

  320. Right, when did we go through all that? And why do we do

  321. all these great lens for that day? You know? Why? Why don't

  322. we sacrify much, so much time and so much money because we love our

  323. daughter, and so our doing things for her was based not because we had

  324. to, because we loved her. And we take that into our relationship with

  325. the Lord. If we love God and he is where our heart is,

  326. then out of a flow of a love for him than what we will want

  327. to obey him. We don't obey him because we have to. We obey

  328. him because we love him and he is what's first for us. You know,

  329. a passage of scripture that's probably one of the greatest illustrations that this is

  330. in the Old Testament story of Sampson. You know, the Bible tells this

  331. that before Samson was born, he was chosen, just like Solomon was chosen.

  332. I mean, just like, yeah, Solomon is chosen. His parents

  333. even made this what they call a Nazarite vow. It means that he would

  334. be a holy man. He would not eat or he would only eat certain

  335. things. He would not drink wine, he would not touch certain things.

  336. He was committed to that. His parents wanted to send him part wanted to

  337. do something really special. But you know the problem is when they made that

  338. vow, when he was born. But when Solomon rose up or grew up,

  339. guess what, he loved women more than love God, and so he

  340. gave himself to Harlot's Delilah was a woman who came, and instead of committing

  341. to obeying his vows that he made to the Lord, he gave himself to

  342. Delilah. He was not supposed to cut his hair, and he what loved

  343. Delilah than he loved God, so he will cut his hair. You see,

  344. the problem with Sampson was this. It wasn't a commitment problem. It

  345. was a heart problem. He loves something else more than he loved God.

  346. And I ask you today when it comes to your task that God's called you

  347. to. God's given you the talents and the gifts. God has given you

  348. instructions, and I hope that you're only listening to the voice of God.

  349. But the next thing that you and I must consider if we're going to complete

  350. the task that God's called for us, is God, do I love you

  351. more than anything else? Or is what's taking me the off task that You've

  352. tell me to Is I really love my job more than I love the church,

  353. or really loved this hobby more than I love the church, or I

  354. really loved this hobby more than I loved you, Or I really loved my

  355. job more than I loved you, I really loved my money more than I

  356. loved you. I really love this relationship more than I love you. And

  357. God, what keeps me from doing what you call me to do? It's

  358. not a commitment problem, it's a love problem. I really just don't love

  359. you like I should. God. Can I tell you today? God loves

  360. you, and right where you are, it may not your love may not

  361. be like it should. And your treasure is where your heart is, and

  362. where your heart is today is not where it should be. And maybe today

  363. God's calling you to say in twenty twenty four, I want more of your

  364. heart. I want more of your love. I want you to love me

  365. with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. I want you

  366. to love me with all of yourself. I want you to see. Lastly,

  367. I want you to see God's work. God's gifted you. God's instructions.

  368. Set your minds to seek him, set your heart to obey him.

  369. And by the way, that's what he says to the leaders in verse nineteen.

  370. Set your mind and your heart to seek the Lord your God. You

  371. see God's instructure, I mean God's work, God's instructions. But lastly,

  372. God's charge. Scripture says that after he tells Solomon all these things, in

  373. verse fourteen, he says, with great pains, I've provided all these things,

  374. and he describes all the provisions. He has all the gold, and

  375. all the silver, and all the iron, all the workers who are provided

  376. in the verse fifteen. In verse sixteen again he describes the rest of the

  377. gold, and then verse sixteen, at the very end, he says,

  378. arise and work. May the Lord be with you. What is God's charge

  379. to us? Lastly? Today? Number one, God's gifted you. That

  380. was God's work. Secondly, God's instructions is what set your minds to seek

  381. him, set your hearts to obey. What is God's charge? Arise and

  382. work? Can I say to you today as we come to the very end

  383. of this passage, as we come to the end of the year today,

  384. God's charged for you. Today. You look in the past and you say,

  385. you know what, twenty twenty three, I didn't finish what God called

  386. me to do. I'm coming into a new year. What is God's message

  387. for you to do today? Arise and work. Can I say to us,

  388. maybe today all through this room, listening today with the people today,

  389. say you know what today, no more excuses. Today, It's time for

  390. me arise and go to work. God's given me everything I need to accomplish

  391. the task. You know, I don't know about you, but there's times

  392. where I'll have a little task and I'll be excited about doing it. Accomplishing

  393. one thing I like to do is the one thing that God's kind of gifted

  394. me at is pretty good with technology and different things. And a few years

  395. ago, I had a Mac computer that was messed up, and so I

  396. think it was Mac Minnie, and so I decided that I was gonna tear

  397. it apart, and I'd watch YouTube and watch a bunch of videos how to

  398. do it. And so I went to go to do it and realize that

  399. I didn't have one of the right tools. I had to have a specially

  400. security screwdriver. So I went to Seers at the time and found that particular

  401. special screwdriver I had to have. I came back and thought it was excited

  402. about doing it, and realized that the part that was in the computer that

  403. was broken, I didn't have, so as much as I wanted to complete

  404. the task, I didn't have everything needed. You ever felt like that in

  405. your life? You ever felt like Okay, Pastor, yeah, I hear

  406. you. I feel like God called me to do something. God's calling me

  407. to do something. God calling me to use my times, my talents.

  408. I feel like God's gifted me to serve the church, and I really need

  409. to get involved in serving. I really need to get involved in using my

  410. gift of really getting more involved to just in church. Whatever it is God.

  411. I feel like God want me to do that. But Pastor, I

  412. feel like there's something missing in me. And although I want to do it,

  413. I'm excited about doing I really feel like the Lord wants me to do

  414. it. I really feel like I don't have everything necessary to complete the task.

  415. Can I tell you what the Word of God says in First or Second

  416. Peter one three says, his divine power has granted to us all all things

  417. that pertain the life and Godliness through the knowledge of Him who has called us

  418. to his own glory and excellence. You know what that pastor says to you

  419. that as you became a believer in Jesus Christ, listen to me, God

  420. gave you everything that you need, all divine power Scripture says, and everything

  421. that you need for a life, and God inness God has granted to you

  422. in salvation. There's nothing else missing in you. The only thing that's missing

  423. is for you today is to obey God's call, to obey God's charge to

  424. rise and work. Can I say to you last the today? You know?

  425. The beautiful message as we finish up this story is, I guess a

  426. sad and beautiful message. The sad message is that Solomon did complete the temple.

  427. But the sad message is he didn't listen to just instructures of the Lord.

  428. He didn't have a heart to obey the Lord. Actually Solomon failed.

  429. Sad news is that temple that Solomon built would be destroyed because of the sin

  430. of visual But the good news is, and the beautiful messages today that Solomon's

  431. story is pointing to a greater story. And the greater story is that God's

  432. work and only would give you everything that you need. But God would raise

  433. up another son. And his son was born in Bethlehem, and his name

  434. was Jesus. And God's work in that that he would raise up a son,

  435. that that son might be your perfect sacrifice for your sins. That God's

  436. working this, that He loves you today, even though you may have felled

  437. on the task, even though you may not love him like you should,

  438. even though you may be listening to other instructions or following other people's advice.

  439. God so loved you that scripture saved that he gave his only begotten son for

  440. you, that who shall over believe in Him shall not perish, but have

  441. ever lasting life. Good news for you today if you're not a believer here

  442. today is that Jesus loves you, and God loves you, and he sent

  443. his only son to die for you. And also the good news is another

  444. part of God's work is not always God's sh struction. And God's instruction to

  445. his son was what even though you and I may failing hearing God's word and

  446. obeying God's although times we may fear and fail, and having a heart to

  447. obey the God's word, that son that would be born would follow God's instructions

  448. even to the point of death. Philippians too says that though he was in

  449. the form of God, he did not count equality with God a thing to

  450. be grass, but he emptied himself by taking the form of a servant,

  451. being born in likeness of men and being found in human form. Listen to

  452. this, he Jesus humble himself to become obedient to the point of death,

  453. even death on the cross. Isn't it the good news today that even though

  454. we may fail, and listening in God's instructions, even though we may fell,

  455. and having a heart to obey the Lord, our savior, Jesus Christ

  456. obeyed perfectly. He followed God's structions perfectly. That listen, that where we

  457. failed, he might be our What substitute? Can I tell you? The

  458. good news today is that lastly God's charge was what to rise up and work,

  459. rise up and build a temple, a temple that would be destroyed.

  460. But Jesus came and lived and died that he might what be the new temple?

  461. The Bible says in First John, not First John, in the Gospel

  462. of John two nineteen. Jesus answered them, says, destroy this temple.

  463. In three days, it will rise up. And then the Jews says,

  464. it's taken forty six years to build this temple, and you'll raise it up

  465. in three days. But he was speaking about the temple of his body,

  466. and when therefore he was raised from that his disciples remembering that he had said

  467. this, and they believed the scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.

  468. Can I tell you today that Jesus arose again that he might be the new

  469. temple, that you today might worship him. Can I tell you today,

  470. if you've never accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior, no matter how

  471. bad you've wasted your life, that God has given you. God so loved

  472. the world that he gave his son for you. Can't tell you today,

  473. no matter how bad you've just disobeyed the Lord, Jesus obeyed the Lord perfectly

  474. that you might be forgiven. Can't I tell you today how, no matter

  475. how bad you have been about using your gifts for God, Jesus died and

  476. rose again that you might your worship today might be restored today. Would you

  477. believe in Jesus today? Would you put your trust in Jesus for salvation today?

  478. Will you accept his love for you today? Will you accept his gift

  479. of salvation today? Would you arise? Would you work? Will you by

  480. God's instructions? Will you believe in God's work for you? Will you pray

  481. with me. Lord, we love you. We thank you for what a

  482. wonderful passage of scripture. God, we thank you for what a wonderful son.

  483. Scripture says. We've all gone astray. We've each have gone our own

  484. way, But God, you laid on him the iniquity of us all.

  485. God, we thank you that, Lord, and our failure. We thank

  486. you where there's grace that's found in our Savior today. And I pray that

  487. to be people today all across this room would acknowledge their shortcomings but find hopeing

  488. You Jesus, hope in your love, hoping your forgiveness, hoping repentance today

  489. and pray to be those who would evaluate Lord their love for you Father,

  490. and say, today, Lord, I want to hear your voice, or

  491. today I want to give you my heart in my life. And I pray

  492. thee be those who would make that decision today, or would pray that this

  493. would be a time where we would respond to you in your leading. Today,

  494. in your name, we pray amens and draw too. Fis
