  1. Have the honor of serving as the adjunct teaching pastor

  2. here at Church at the Crossing. So if we haven't met,

  3. this is our introduction. I'm going to let you know

  4. you picked a perfect place to worship this morning. Whether

  5. you're watching online or you're here in person, I'm so

  6. glad you're here today this morning. I've been on a

  7. little journey myself just with God as we talk about

  8. overflow and allowing the Holy Spirit to overflow in your

  9. life to guide you, to lead you into places and

  10. spaces that you may not have been prepared for. As

  11. many of you know, I serve a very distinct population.

  12. Although I've served young people my whole life, all the

  13. way from pre k all the way up to college age.

  14. I've worked with young people most of my life. I

  15. did discover that pre K is probably not my thing

  16. because when they take nap time, so do I. And

  17. not safe, not safe and so. But I found a

  18. particular population that my heart goes out to, and that

  19. is young people who are often forgotten, and those are

  20. young people who are incarcerated across the country at youth

  21. detention facilities. So several months ago, the Lord started speaking

  22. to me about this situation, and it started asking me, like,

  23. where's your ministry. I'm like, my ministry. Do it every

  24. day when I go to work, I'm doing it. I'm

  25. working with young people everywhere I go, I'm doing ministry.

  26. And the Lord is like, no, what about your ministry?

  27. What about your ministry? And then the Lord started downloading

  28. in small bits and pieces this ministry that has unfolded

  29. very quickly to go into those spaces and to be

  30. able to preach and teach young people the Gospel and

  31. expose them to the love of Christ. Just this week,

  32. I was able to go to a detention center in Springfield,

  33. Ohio and share the good news. And the good news

  34. is twelve young souls came to the world. Amen. Amen, Amen.

  35. And so how this ministry works is that it's based

  36. out of Matthew twenty five when Jesus says, what you

  37. have done to the lease of these. When I was hungry,

  38. you fed me, when I was naked, you clothed me.

  39. When I was in prison or sick, you came and

  40. visited me. So we do that through this ministry. We

  41. visit these young people to see about them, We feed

  42. them the word of God, and then we also leave

  43. behind the T shirt that's on the screen there. And

  44. what we do with this T shirt is basically, anyone

  45. who purchased one, they not only purchased a T shirt

  46. for themselves, but they're also purchasing one for a kid

  47. who's incarcerated. And so when these young twelve people gave

  48. their heart to the Lord, they receive the shirt, and

  49. even the other kids that were in the room receive

  50. the shirt because it's just a reminder when they leave

  51. that they're still counting. On the shirt, it says Everybody's it.

  52. And John three point sixteen lets us know that God

  53. so loved the world that he gave is only begotten son.

  54. He loved the world everybody. Everybody is it and so

  55. tagged these young people are it. And so glad to

  56. know that we have twelve added to the kingdom. Amen.

  57. So we talked about this. So much is happening at

  58. the church at this time. Pastor James is actually traveling

  59. at this time. He is in the backwoods of Wisconsin. Amen,

  60. He's at a outreach event where he's going to be

  61. sharing or has already started sharing, and we'll be sharing

  62. four times while he's there. And so this group of people.

  63. Are there many that are there unsaved and have not

  64. come into relationship with Jesus Christ. And so please pray

  65. for him as he shares the good news of Jesus,

  66. and we pray that others will come into the fold. Amen. Amen.

  67. I want to transition into this topic of overflow and

  68. get us back to that. I felt like everything I

  69. said before was an announcement, and I want to kind

  70. of get us back into this, uh, this idea of

  71. the overflow of the Holy Spirit. And so I'm gonna

  72. ask my granddaughter daughter, Kayln, Kaylyn, come on up here,

  73. help me out. Kaylyn's gonna help me out this morning,

  74. just kind of help us flow back by singing a

  75. prayer song. Okay, we're gonna make this our prayer song.

  76. So if you would bow your heads, close your eyes,

  77. and we're gonna sing this prayer song. She's gonna sing

  78. this pre song. Lead us in this pres song. Let's pray.

  79. Oh see.

  80. Come here, come floy please send busy yeah us.

  81. Your glove.

  82. God is is uh long to be over come by

  83. your passions.

  84. Love.

  85. Please spery a welcome here. Conflictis play in field themassphel

  86. Your God.

  87. God is a long.

  88. To be.

  89. Overcome by your presence.

  90. The spearing you a gone conflict class. Your regud is.

  91. To be.

  92. Come by your presis love.

  93. What's on hold.

  94. Spearing wld here come the place and if feed speed

  95. your God, God is word of love.

  96. To be.

  97. Come by your asis.

  98. Holy Spirit. You are welcome. Come in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen.

  99. Let me thank you for but you'll thank you Amen.

  100. So that have young people, there's always something so sensitive

  101. about when a young person sing. When our kids were little,

  102. we would go to their chapels at Liberty Christian School

  103. and Anderson and all these little kids, little babies singing

  104. these songs. And I would be sitting there bawling. I'm

  105. just bawling because of the sensitivity. Who thank you God

  106. in the spirit that it produces to remember the innocence

  107. of a child. Today, the big idea for today is

  108. experiencing the fullness of the Holy Spirit. We all have

  109. heard about the Holy Spirit. We have lessons taught to

  110. us about the Holy Spirit. We've heard about the gifts

  111. of the spirit, the fruit of a spirit, all those

  112. things that are produced through the Holy Spirit. But we

  113. need to understand who the Holy Spirit is. So I'm

  114. going to start us out by acknowledging that the Holy

  115. Spirit has always been a part of the life of

  116. the Church, the creation of the world, everything that the

  117. Holy Spirit has been a part of. Because the Holy

  118. Spirit is a part of God, the Triune God, God,

  119. the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

  120. And so when we encounter relationship with God, we come

  121. in through the Holy Spirit. It's the Holy Spirit that

  122. draws us and invites us. It's that tugg in your

  123. heart that says, ooh, my life needs more than what

  124. I'm living right now. It's that poll that says, come

  125. to an alter of prayer, give your heart to Jesus.

  126. You need Jesus. Come to Jesus while there is time.

  127. It's that feeling that we have. The Holy Spirit woos

  128. us into a place where we're open enough to receive Jesus.

  129. And so we have God, the Father, God, the Son

  130. and God, the Holy Spirit, God, the Father supreme over everything, Jesus,

  131. the sacrificial Lamb of God, who lays down his life

  132. to give us access to the Father, and the Holy Spirit,

  133. who then empowers the believer to be effective and to

  134. others into the presence of God, to be witnesses, ambassadors

  135. of God's presence and goodness. So this morning I want

  136. to spend a little time in the scriptures this series

  137. here overflow. So honored to be opening this series that

  138. we'll be doing over the next several weeks. But today

  139. we want to start out just in Chapter one, and

  140. we'll be moving through all the chapters there and Acts.

  141. I want to look at Acts one and we're going

  142. to start with verse one and we'll flow through verse eleven.

  143. I'm going to read this in your hearing, and if

  144. you will not turn because people don't turn pages, how

  145. many y'all got physical Bibles? How man y'all got physical

  146. Bibles with you right now? Amen? Just curious, all right,

  147. How man y'all got digital Bibles with you right now? Yeah? Okay,

  148. So swipe to swipe to Acts, the first chapter, and

  149. we're going to get reading the Bible says this in

  150. my form of book Theophilis, I wrote about all that

  151. Jesus began to do and to teach until the day

  152. he was taken up to heaven after giving instruction through

  153. the Holy Spirit. The apostles had chosen he had chosen

  154. after his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave

  155. many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to

  156. them over a period of forty days and spoke about

  157. the Kingdom of God. On one occasion, while he was

  158. eating with them, he gave them this command, do not

  159. leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my father promise

  160. which you have heard me speak about. For John baptized

  161. with water, but in a few days you will be

  162. baptized with the Holy Spirit. Then they gathered around him

  163. and asked him, Lord, are you at this time going

  164. to restore the king to Israel. He said to them,

  165. it is not for you to know the times or

  166. dates the Father has set by his own authority. But

  167. you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you,

  168. and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in

  169. all Judaea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

  170. After he said this, he was taken up before their

  171. very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.

  172. They were looking intently into the sky as he was going,

  173. when suddenly two men dressed in white stood before them,

  174. men of Gotie. They said, why do you stand here

  175. looking into the sky. This same Jesus who was taken

  176. from you into the heaven will come back in the

  177. same way you have seen him go into the heavens.

  178. Today I want to focus on that passage, that scripture

  179. in verse eight. But you will receive power when the

  180. Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my

  181. witnesses in Jerusalem and all of Judea and Samaria and

  182. to the ends of the earth. I want us to

  183. understand today that in order for us to be witnesses,

  184. we are going to need the Holy Spirit. There are

  185. three points I want to point out today. The first

  186. point is is that the Holy Spirit empowers believers. The

  187. Holy Spirit empowers believers. If we are a believer, you

  188. can be a believer in Jesus. And many people claim

  189. that they believe in God, that they're Christians, that they

  190. have confessed and accepted Jesus as their Lord and savior.

  191. But many walk around and they are not in powered.

  192. And when I say empowered, I mean able to do

  193. the things that Jesus did. It's a challenge for many

  194. of us to think about all that Jesus did. Jesus

  195. turned water into wine. I know some people are signing

  196. up for that miracle. Right he healed the sick, He

  197. restored sight to the blind, He caused death ears to hear.

  198. He the gave of sin, brought people back into relationship

  199. with God. He healed a woman who had been bleeding

  200. for twelve years, and he also raised the dead. And

  201. many of us we think about those miracles and they

  202. seem so far and in so far off. But I

  203. want to let you know that we have access to

  204. the same power that Jesus displayed in the earth. Amen.

  205. But the only way that we can have access to

  206. that power is to allow the Holy Spirit to empower us.

  207. The Holy Spirit brings this power to us, gives this

  208. power to the believer. I want to let you know

  209. that the Holy Spirit is not new, that it's the

  210. same power that we see in Genesis One when we

  211. see that at the beginning of creation, the Holy Spirit

  212. was therewith God hovering over the surface of the deep,

  213. hovering waiting for the moment when God says, let there

  214. be light, and there was light. The Holy Spirit is

  215. the acting moving power of God. I'm gonna say that

  216. the Holy Spirit is the acting moving power of God

  217. anytime there is a need for activity, anytime there is

  218. a need for movement, if there's ever a need for power,

  219. the Holy Spirit provides that power. The Holy Spirit provides

  220. those actions, that movement that needs to happen in the earth.

  221. It's the same power that separates water and allows people

  222. to walk on dry ground. It's the same power that

  223. allows Jesus to do the works that he was doing

  224. in the earth. That same power is available today to

  225. everyone who's under the sound of my voice. But what

  226. do we need to do in order to get that power.

  227. We have to be open to receive the power. Now

  228. this morning, if I came in this space and I

  229. said that the Holy Spirit is the acting moving power

  230. of God, I want to explain how it works. Right now,

  231. you are able to hear my voice because my voice

  232. is being carried through the sound system. But if I

  233. took my hand and put it here, it'll be very

  234. difficult to hear me. I'm sorry, mate, he's gonna get

  235. me for doing this. You can't hear me as well

  236. because it's muffled. But the acting moving power does this,

  237. the acting moving power. Here we go. When I say acting,

  238. what's the first letter of acting participation? When I say moving,

  239. what's the first letter of moving? Uh? Huh? And when

  240. I say power. What's the first letter of power, pee right?

  241. And so we got those letters together, and if you

  242. were doing an acronym, it would be amp right. The

  243. Holy Spirit amplifies God, amplifies the things of God, moves

  244. and amplifies, bring more sound to brings it to other people.

  245. It takes it to places that no one has seen before.

  246. And so it's so important as a body of Christ

  247. that we accept that power so that God can be amplified,

  248. amplified on your job, amplified in your marriage, amplified in

  249. your community, amplified in places where there's darkness. The Holy

  250. Spirit amplifies the light of God. Oh my God, it's

  251. nothing like when a believer. People of light walk into

  252. dark spaces and they can see now because you are there,

  253. because you're present, things change. There's a shift because you're there.

  254. There's got to be a shift in our world. I

  255. don't know about you, but this world is in a

  256. very oh Man treumunctuous place, a place that is devastating,

  257. a place that is falling apart. We need light. We

  258. need the amplification of the Holy Spirit in all spaces.

  259. We need amplification in the prison system, we need amplification

  260. in our school system. We need amplification in our white house.

  261. We need amplification all around. We need to see the

  262. light of God in every space. We are in need

  263. of amplified power. And so the Holy Spirit empowers the believer,

  264. gives us what we need in order to get the

  265. job done. I want to let you know you can't

  266. get this job done in your own strength, but you

  267. need power when Jesus says, and you will receive power

  268. when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. When you look

  269. at the word power, power. And this phrase is in

  270. Greek dunamous, dunamous, dunamous, it means there's some ability to

  271. do mighty works. Mighty works. Mighty works. Not just listen.

  272. It's not going to the mailbox. That's not mighty work. Okay,

  273. that's just normal natural thing you do. Go to mailbox,

  274. get to mail out, whatnot. But mighty works means moving mountains.

  275. We sing songs about stuff like this. I believe in

  276. moving mountains, and I believe this, and I believe that.

  277. Well do you well if you do allow the Holy

  278. Spirit to move some mountains out of people lives, out

  279. of our lives, out of our communities, out of all

  280. that we encounter because that is the dunamous power of

  281. the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit to do can do

  282. mighty acts, but needs a vessel that is willing to go.

  283. They won't know unless you go, unless you're willing as

  284. a disciple of Christ. Remember he said, then you will

  285. be my witnesses to all these places. I'm going ahead

  286. of myself. Let me slow down. So the Holy Spirit

  287. allows us and empowers us to do the work of

  288. the Father through this power, this power that does mighty works.

  289. Always think about the fishes and the loads. That's a

  290. mighty work. I think about the disciples on the stormy See,

  291. that's a mighty work because there's power. But they experienced

  292. this because Jesus was there. Here we go the Holy Spirit.

  293. Point two brings ongoing personal transformation. I want to let

  294. you know that if you are the same person that

  295. you were when you got saved, that's a problem. Talk

  296. to this side. They don't believe what I was saying.

  297. If you are the same person that you were on

  298. the day you got saved, that's a problem the whole Amen,

  299. y'all with me. Amen, I'm gonna give y'all another chance later, Okay.

  300. I promise, y'all just wasn't ready. So the reality is

  301. is that the Holy Spirit transforms us. The Holy Spirit

  302. changes us. The Holy Spirit starts to work in our

  303. lives in such a way that we start wanting transformation.

  304. The Bible tells us that in Romans, it says that

  305. do not be conformed any longer to the pattern of

  306. this world. When the Holy Spirit comes into your life,

  307. you are looking for ways to not look like the world.

  308. Mm hmm. You ever walked in someplace and somebody's got

  309. the same outfit you got on, and then you and

  310. your mind said, well, I work better than them. Right,

  311. what if everybody in the room had on the same outfit.

  312. There's something about the Holy Spirit says, no, no, no,

  313. I'm gonna pull you out of the pattern of this world,

  314. and I'm gonna give you a new identity. I'm gonna

  315. give you a new look. I'm gonna give you a

  316. new way that you're doing this thing under my power.

  317. But do not conform any lower too the pattern of

  318. this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

  319. The Holy Spirit will change your mind. You won't think

  320. the way you used to think. You won't act the

  321. way you used to act. You won't do the things

  322. you used to do. Why, Because the Holy Spirit is

  323. changing Your mind. Used to have a strong stance on

  324. certain things. But the Holy Spirit invade your life and says,

  325. ah ah, we don't think that way anymore. We don't

  326. do that anymore, We don't act that way anymore. So

  327. the Holy Spirit starts to impact your mental. If the

  328. Holy Spirit can impact your mental, everything else follows. Our

  329. bodies follow, our minds, our voices, our speech, our diet,

  330. all those things change because our minds have been changed.

  331. The Holy Spirit overflows. The Holy Spirit worked. The work

  332. of the Holy Spirit in our lives isn't a one

  333. time event. It's not like boom, I got the Holy Spirit.

  334. I'm good. No, it's a continuous renew and transformation that

  335. leads to overflow in every aspect of our lives, our attitudes,

  336. our actions, and our relationships. Our attitudes. Some of us

  337. got bad attitudes, let's just say it. Some of us.

  338. We don't wake up well, we're like, you know, I'm

  339. not a morning person. Then you have some people who

  340. are not night people. Can't stay up too late. I

  341. turn into another person. And then you have some people

  342. who are just bad in the middle of the day,

  343. and some of us just have a bad attitude all day. Right,

  344. So the Holy Spirit comes in and starts to change

  345. our attitudes, the way that we see things, the way

  346. that we focus, the way that we operate, the way

  347. that we deal with things. The Holy Spirit teaches us

  348. about him and then teaches us about us so that

  349. we can flow in the spirit. The Holy Spirit adapts

  350. our actions. The things that we used to do, we

  351. don't do no more. The places we used to go,

  352. we don't go no more. The way that we used

  353. to interact and communicate, we just don't do that anymore.

  354. The friends I used to have, I don't have no

  355. more because the Holy Spirit starts to move in our life,

  356. and I know it's easier just to go with the flow.

  357. Some of us we just want to be in control.

  358. Just want to be in control. You want to drive

  359. your own car, You want to go where you want

  360. to go, when you want to go with. You don't

  361. want anybody driving you around. Some people I have friends

  362. like that, And to be honest, I'm a little like

  363. that too. If you invite me somewhere, I'll drive myself.

  364. You know why, because I want to leave. When I

  365. want to leave, I will not be held hostage to

  366. your time schedule. M hm. And some of us do that.

  367. With the Holy Spirit, we're like, uh no, I'm gonna

  368. go to church, but I'm telling if that preacher preaches

  369. five minutes past, I'm out. The Holy Spirit changes our actions,

  370. our modes, the way that we think, and I know

  371. there's a game going on. I see people in jerseys,

  372. Amen today, go colts. Amen. Amen. We praying for them

  373. and they gonna need prayer. Amen anyway. But changes also

  374. our relationships. It changes our marriages, it changes he changes

  375. the way that we interact with our kids. He changes

  376. the way that we interact with people around us, the

  377. people that we love and the people that we are

  378. growing to love, the people that we don't even know.

  379. The Holy the Spirit will even impact the way you

  380. deal with your enemies. Some of us we love everybody else,

  381. but we will cuss out our enemies. The Holy Spirit

  382. will change those things about you, but you have to

  383. give access. So when I say ongoing transformation, that means

  384. you are continuously change, You're continuously going through the process.

  385. It looks a little bit like a fawcet a water

  386. falter that's being poured into water that's being poured into

  387. a glass from a divine place that the Holy Spirit

  388. continues to pour into us over and over again, removing

  389. all of the stuff that would normally settle to the bottom.

  390. The Holy Spirit, no, that can't settle. I need to

  391. renew you, refresh you, give you new all over again.

  392. So every time you think you're going to become stale

  393. as a Christian, the Holy Spirit says, nope, getting here.

  394. I'm gonna do something new. I am doing a new thing.

  395. Can you see it? The Holy Spirit It's word is

  396. not a one time thing. But the Holy Spirit continues

  397. to refresh us over and over. I can developing us personally,

  398. transforming us personally. Thirdly, the Holy Spirit equips us to

  399. be witnesses. It's hard to tell others about Jesus sometimes,

  400. but I want to let you know the best tell

  401. of Jesus. The best way we can tell people about Jesus,

  402. the best way we can communicate about Jesus is through

  403. our lives. Your life will speak more than your words

  404. could ever say. People are watching your life to see

  405. if what you say and do are connected. But after

  406. we have lived around people long enough and they watched you,

  407. it gives you permission to then speak. Oh watch that

  408. some of us we start talking first mm hmm. Live

  409. it out, and then the Holy Spirit gives you credit

  410. to be able to speak into lives, to be able

  411. to tell truth into lives, to be able to give

  412. direction into lives, because people know that what you say

  413. is what you do, and so the Holy Spirit equips

  414. us to be witnesses. I want to let you know.

  415. You could try to do this of your own. You

  416. could try to do it of your own power, do

  417. it your own way, but you will not be successful

  418. because you need the Holy Spirit. Every person in here

  419. under the sound of my voice and me included, and

  420. those who are online, we need the Holy Spirit if

  421. we are going to be equipped to carry this great news,

  422. if we're going to be equipped to be able to

  423. bring the message of Christ to others. The Holy Spirit

  424. is looking for those who will enlist in the army

  425. of the Lord to say, I am opening up my

  426. life so that you can have control and you can

  427. do what you want to do in me, so others

  428. will know Jesus well, how does this works? How does

  429. it work? How does this process work? Well, this is

  430. how it works. We receive the Holy Spirit and we're transformed.

  431. We share, and then we repeat. We receive again from

  432. the Holy Spirit. We continue to be transformed. We share, repeat, transform, share, repeat.

  433. This is happening through your whole life, because, believe it

  434. or not, you are not who used to be when

  435. you were twenty. That sounded like some needs that start popping. Amen,

  436. But I'm not just talking about the physical thing. You

  437. are also spiritually. You should not be thinking the same

  438. way you thought when you were twenty because the Holy Spirit.

  439. As you receive the Holy Spirit, he what transforms you,

  440. and you are being changed into the likeness of Christ.

  441. And then you share that good news about the change,

  442. the things that you're experiencing, the things that God is

  443. doing in your life. And guess what others are also

  444. being changed to? Well, why do you need the Holy Spirit? See?

  445. Because most of us we would settle just to be

  446. visual Christians. Right, it's gonna be a casual Christian, go

  447. to church, sing a couple songs, pray a little bit,

  448. and do all the other things. Because what it's really

  449. about is really about me, you know, doing well for

  450. myself and doing well for my family and doing well

  451. in the world. Well, I want to let you know

  452. that the Holy Spirit is not concerned about your personal gain.

  453. The Holy Spirit is there to equip you to spread

  454. the message of Christ. The Holy Spirit does not care

  455. about your house, your car, how much money you have

  456. in the bank. If you got the two point five kids,

  457. and I think the five is that little dog right,

  458. And no, the Holy Spirit's not concerned about that. The

  459. Holy Spirit wants to equip you to share the good news.

  460. Because everybody will not have a house. Somebody's gonna live

  461. in an apartment. Somebody's not gonna have a car. Somebody

  462. takes public transportation. But that same person who lives in

  463. the apartment and lives and takes the bus or takes

  464. the train, that the same person as being equipped to

  465. be filled with the Holy Spirit to share and spread

  466. the good news of Jesus. It's not about our stuff.

  467. The Holy Spirit doesn't care about your stuff. The Holy

  468. Spirit cares about you being equipped to carry the good

  469. news of Jesus. Well, why is the Holy Spirit so

  470. important to the believer? Why, I'm gonna give you the

  471. short list of why the Holy Spirit is so important

  472. to the believer. Now, remember this is the short list,

  473. short list in alphabetical order. Are you ready? The Holy

  474. Spirit gives us access to God, anoints us for service,

  475. assures us, author's scripture, baptizes us, burst believers, calls and commissions, cleanses,

  476. convicts of sin, creates, empowers believers, fills believers, gives gifts,

  477. glorifies Christ, guides us into truth, helps in our weakness.

  478. Can I take a breath and dwells in the inspires,

  479. prayer into seeds, interpret scripture, leads, liberates, molds, character, produces fruit,

  480. raises from the dead, regenerates, sanctify, seals, strengthens, teaches, testifies

  481. of Jesus, and gives us victory over the flesh. And

  482. that's the short list. So much more that the Holy

  483. Spirit does for the believer. You need the Holy Spirit.

  484. We need the Holy Spirit. There's no one who can

  485. make this life's journey without the Holy Spirit. Several years ago,

  486. I was traveling from Chicago to Indianapolis, and I normally

  487. fly on Southwest, and you know why, your bags fly free,

  488. and so seemed like the flights were always a little

  489. cheaper or something. You know that that was my airline

  490. but this particular flight, I was flying on a different carrier,

  491. and the carrier was going from Chicago to Indianapolis. And

  492. so I got on the plane, paid for my bags

  493. and my original destination, and on this one hour trip,

  494. I think it's even shorter now, this one hour trip,

  495. I was just ready to get home, had been journeying,

  496. ready to get home. My wife was going to pick

  497. me up from the airport. And so I got on

  498. the plane and my phone had started. I was in

  499. the red zone. You know what the red zone means.

  500. It's like it's about to die. But I was like, oh,

  501. we're good, I'll charge it when I get there, when

  502. we get in the car, I'll be fine. So I

  503. didn't call home right away. But then all of a sudden,

  504. my phone went past the red zone and it said

  505. and it died. Then we were on the tar. I'm

  506. at for over an hour, almost two hours, just waiting,

  507. waiting because there was bad weather in Indianapolis. So what's

  508. great at Chicago was like, why can't we go? Well,

  509. the weather's okay, fine. So I'm sitting there and I'm

  510. becoming a little anxious because I'm looking around and I

  511. know my wife at this point is at the airport

  512. waiting for me, and you know, we don't like to

  513. go into the airport. Just you know, call me and

  514. I'll come up, pick you up, swoop you up. And

  515. so I'm like, I need to let her know something.

  516. So I'm sitting in this row, I'm sitting seated here,

  517. and there's a lady by the window. There's an open

  518. seat here, and I'm just watching this lady and she's

  519. on her phone and she's just and I'm like a

  520. little envious, a little jealous, and so I'm looking at

  521. her and I'm like, man, I wish my phone was working.

  522. I wish I could call my wife. And I'm thinking

  523. in my head, you know what, maybe you should just

  524. ask her if you can use her phone to call

  525. your wife and let her know that you're okay. And

  526. then while I'm sitting there, I said, you are a

  527. grown man. You are not about to ask this woman

  528. to use her phone like some little fifth grader. So

  529. I fought through that and I became a little more humble,

  530. and I said, excuse me, ma'am, would it be okay

  531. if I use your phone to call home and just

  532. let my wife know that I'm okay that we're delayed

  533. a little bit. And she looked at me and she said,

  534. what's wrong with your phone? Yeah, there you go talking

  535. to God's special people again. Well, ma'am, my phone died

  536. and so I don't have I can't call. And then

  537. she said to me, she said, do you have a

  538. charge accord? Lady? I'm just like, really, okay. Now I

  539. could have sad anywhere on this plane, but I selected

  540. this seat. This is what I selected for my life.

  541. And so I was like, well, ma'am, still being respectful,

  542. because we got to be respectful, right, I'm the person

  543. in need. She could say whatever she want to say.

  544. So I said, yes, ma'am, I do have a charge

  545. of cord. It's in my in my laptop bag. And

  546. she said, good, that doesn't solve my problem. She said, well,

  547. if you get your cord and plug it into your phone,

  548. and then you take that same chord and plug it

  549. in the little outlet that's down here under the seat,

  550. you can have power. So I'm the problem. I'm the problem.

  551. It's not her. She's not special. He's not going to

  552. any No, that's not one of God's special people. She's

  553. somebody who knows what's going on on this plane. Because

  554. I was with a different carrier, I didn't realize I

  555. was sitting on power all along. I want to let

  556. you know that's just like the Church. Many of us

  557. are sitting on power that we have not access. We

  558. have batteries that are dying, spiritual batteries that are dying.

  559. And the Lord is saying, if you just get plugged

  560. into the Holy Spirit, if you will just plug in,

  561. I will empower your life. I will allow you to

  562. do the work that the Spirit is calling for. That

  563. when you walk into different places, you are so amplified

  564. with the power of God that people know there's something

  565. different about you. That you came to do business that

  566. devils tremble, when you walk into spaces that you're taking

  567. back territory, that you're shining light in darkness, that sickness

  568. says nine fooling with him today. I gotta get up

  569. off this person because they just walked into the room.

  570. I want to let you know that when you get

  571. in filled with the Holy Spirit, when you allow the

  572. power of God to rule in your life, things around

  573. you start to change. Situations start to change, marriages start

  574. to change, your kids start to change. When you surrender

  575. everything to the Holy Spirit, there's a change that happens

  576. in your life this morning, Church, I am telling you.

  577. I know it feels good to be saved and to

  578. know that Heaven is going to be your internal home.

  579. But I want to ask you, what will you do

  580. for the kingdom? Where will you cause things that are

  581. dark to see the light of Christ? Where will you

  582. step into the spaces empowered and begin to do the

  583. things that God wants. The Spirit is waiting on you,

  584. just like in Genesis, hovering and waiting. Will you stand

  585. on your feet with me today? What happens when the

  586. overflow comes? What happened when the overflow comes and starts

  587. to impact our lives. When the overflow comes, it takes

  588. control of everything. I don't know if you've ever had

  589. a flood in your home, your basement ever flooded. Several

  590. years ago, one of our kids probably brushing their teeth

  591. in the morning, and we were rushing out the door,

  592. and they left folk the bathroom sink on all day long.

  593. Eight hours. We came home and there was water from

  594. the second floor where the bathroom was, all the way down.

  595. There was an overflow. You can't control water. You can't

  596. hold it back. When it starts to move, it does

  597. what it wants to do. It goes where it wants

  598. to go. I want to let you know the Holy

  599. Spirit is just like that. The Holy Spirit wants to

  600. go to spaces that you have access to. To your classroom,

  601. you're the teacher. Wait until the Holy Spirit comes into

  602. your classroom. Wait until the Holy Spirit walks into the supermarket,

  603. into the bank, Wait until the Holy Spirit gets on

  604. the bus and sits beside a stranger. Lives will be

  605. changed when you allow the Holy Spirit to take control.

  606. I want to pray for you this morning. I want

  607. to pray that you will release control, that you'll stop

  608. trying to control your narratives, control how God operates in

  609. your life, and allow the Holy Spirit to do something

  610. that you may not even be ready for, but I

  611. promise you it will be beautiful. When you release control,

  612. you're changed and others are changed. To let us pray, Father,

  613. I thank you who for this message. God. I feel

  614. you in this place and somebody's in that space right now.

  615. They've been trying to fix it themselves. They've been trying

  616. to do it themselves. They've been tweaking it and trying

  617. to make it work. But Lord, I pray that you

  618. will help them to take their hands off and to

  619. invite the Holy Spirit to live in them. Holy Spirit,

  620. come come and fill every open vessel. The vessel doesn't

  621. need to be empty, Holy Spirit, but just available. And

  622. when you come, you will empty out everything that doesn't

  623. need to be there and fill it with your presence,

  624. fill it with your power. That we can do the

  625. work that Jesus spoke about. That we will be your witnesses,

  626. the witnesses of the Kingdom, and all the spaces, the

  627. high spaces, the load spaces, and every space in between

  628. that we will go. We will say, we will do

  629. only what the Spirit says. That we will be so

  630. sensitive and so tender to your presence that will acknowledge

  631. when we walk in a space and the space says

  632. that the Holy Spirit is necessary, that miracles can take

  633. place because we are open, open us up. Let nothing

  634. stop us. I pray this now.

  635. For every receptive ear, every receptive heart, every receptive believer

  636. to receive be filled, transformed, refreshed by the Holy Spirit.

  637. And She's as name. Let us all say Amen, Amen, hallelujah.

  638. The k
