No, it's Court Strokes. Maybe that's Strokes College. It's literally
-
just around the corner. It's about five hundred yards away. Now,
-
we're not going in through the front door. The hall
-
we're meeting in is literally just behind the front door. Now,
-
first thing's real bonus for anybody who drives. Free parking
-
starting next Sunday. Ever since, ever since earlier on this year,
-
they started charging for parking in the on Sundays. We
-
have a car park at Strode So free parking, so
-
you're can invite your friends and don't have to be
-
embarrassed about saying, oh, you might have to pay for parking.
-
Free parking, and there's plenty of there's plenty, plenty, plenty
-
of spaces. Okay, I'm going to show you a couple
-
of quick videos about how to find it in a moment.
-
But the other thing I also want to say is
-
this is about growth. This room seats maximum fifty people.
-
This one here, the one that Cooper's Hall that we're
-
going to next Sunday, seats up to ninety people. But
-
I'm not just thinking about ninety people church. I'm thinking
-
about what next. And there's a sports hall at Strokes
-
College at six two hundred people, So you know, we're
-
moving just up the road. But we've got room to
-
grow to two hundred people there, you know, and I'm believing.
-
I mean, there was a band at a party last
-
night and I said to Hope as she looked at
-
the band, all the instruments, I said, I said to you,
-
how long before we have a band like this? Because
-
they had a keyboard player and three guitarists and a
-
drammer and a singer. How long before we have a
-
band like this at church? How long do you think?
-
She said?
-
How long?
-
Would you say? Hope said three months. I'm not holding
-
her to that, but I love the faith in that.
-
I love the faith in that says we're going to
-
have a big Now what I'm saying to you church,
-
and for those who are listening online, those who are part.
-
Of who we are.
-
You know, if you've got a musical gift, we need
-
a bigger band because we're going to fill a bigger
-
space and we're going to make more noise. There's gubby
-
room to dance, we're going to put flags up, room
-
to wave flags and things like that. So firstly, let's
-
give you So I don't know where you know wherest
-
Roads is. But if you know there's a there's a
-
there's a new cafe. Can I call it a cafe?
-
A place that serves pancakes. It's called Fluffy Fluffy. So
-
if you want to give a reference point to anybody,
-
it's just round the corner from Fluffy Fluffy.
-
So let's let's play the first video.
-
Up the drive.
-
So this is the way you would drive in or
-
walk in. This is the way to come in. I
-
thought i'd speeded it up. It just speed it up
-
because the people don't walk that fast. And then you drive,
-
drive through the gates and you get into the car park.
-
Please park anywhere in here. You we're just driving past
-
the entrance at the moment. It'll stop in a moment,
-
so plenty of parking space. Please come and join us.
-
Please invite your friends. Okay, Now, once you get to
-
the door and you've parked, there should be somebody there
-
to greet you. We need a bigger welcome team. We're
-
going to need a bigger welcome team. So now we're
-
going to go inside. You're going up up a few
-
stairs and there's just another thirty seconds, so you know
-
where you're going there will be signs, there will be
-
a frames and things to point you in the right direction.
-
Let's play the next one, Jonathan.
-
Up the steps and we will need to help people out,
-
anybody who If we need disabled access, we'll need to
-
talk to the college about that. But at the moment,
-
we're just going to come in this way. You turn first,
-
right around the corner. There'll be a sign there that
-
was just to help you to know where you're going.
-
I love the fact that we walk under a thing
-
that says be inspirational, be inspired, and then you walk
-
in here and this is the It won't look like
-
this on Sunday. We were just testing it out, but
-
this is the room that we'll be worshiping in and
-
as you can see a prophetic picture there of Hope
-
playing the guitar.
-
Okay, so now you know.
-
Now you should be able to find it between Fluffy
-
Fluffy and disquise if you want a reference point between.
-
So it's at the end of the high Street, go
-
in through Strodes and that's where we're meeting. And we
-
do need help to set up because it's going to
-
be different. It's not our own space, and we'll be
-
meeting there every Sunday doesn't mean we won't be using
-
this place. Friday Night's prayer will still be here if
-
we have a prayer, if we have a midweek meeting,
-
it'll be here, you know, until it doesn't fit in
-
here when we have a midweek meeting with sixty people,
-
then okay, maybe we'll have to hire. But so that's
-
where we're going. That's what it looks like. There's a
-
couple of pictures. We tried it out about a month ago.
-
We checked out all the technology. Jonathan's been playing around
-
is like a big kid at the moment because he's
-
buying extra wires.
-
And extra things.
-
Because all we need to do is take what we've
-
got here more toys and it's already we already know
-
it's working. We will all everything. So so thank you
-
Jonathan for all the hard work. This's so just a
-
little thing. Good job, and it won't be I really
-
do want to say one final thing before I give
-
an opportunity for some testimonies.
-
It won't be perfect next week.
-
There will be teething troubles, and so I want to say,
-
bear with us. If there's something you think doesn't work,
-
tell us one of the things we've already got is
-
Keris and cherry and helped us with this. We wanted
-
to have a better connection card. I don't know whether
-
you filled that. Most of you have filled out a
-
connection card at some point, but we wanted it to
-
be more engaging, more colorful, more bright, and just a
-
place to connect with us as church. So you know
-
that's already designed and that should be ready for next
-
week and ready to go. So there's plenty more things
-
coming in the pipeline. You may have noticed our giving envelopes.
-
Our giving envelopes started last week. That's all part of
-
us preparing for growth. So that's a little bit about strokes.
-
If you've got questions, ask me, come and let me
-
know if you've got next week onwards, if there's something
-
you've got a suggestion. We've got a room for Sunday school,
-
we'll have a place for crache, and we'll have a
-
place in the room. Actually sorry, let me just go back. Okay,
-
see these dividers at the back, We're going to have
-
a private space at the back for people to pray
-
and for pre prayer, also apprice if people want a
-
bit of more privacy, if they need prayer, We will
-
have space to pray for people. One of the big
-
things I think is a problem here. We don't have
-
room to make the Holy Spirit, not make the Holy
-
Spirit room to make space for the Holy Spirit to move.
-
He does sometimes, but it's just awkward because we're all
-
a bit crowded and it's all a bit awkward. We'll
-
have plenty of space for that. We'll have badges of
-
the ministry team and everything else. So that's what's coming, guys.
-
I'm excited. Are you excited? Yeah, So I'm going to
-
give an opportunity for testimonies if anybody's got a testimony
-
this morning.
-
Arash, do you want to come?
-
Come, Come, come, my friend.
-
He's upon all of you. So this is one of
-
my hugest tests. So many revealed to me to share
-
with all of you. It is listened clearly, So I said, God,
-
I have tested many you know, I have many, many
-
tests them, each of those I should share it, and
-
please show me also the worse and bye, as I
-
had Chapter six, verse eight. Also I heard the voice
-
of the Lord Jesus. Also I heard the voice of
-
the Lord saying, saying, whom shall go and who will
-
go for us? Who shall I send, Who shall I send?
-
And who will go for us? Then I said, here
-
am I Jesus? Here am I send me? He said,
-
go and tell these people. Keep on hearing, do not understand,
-
keep on seeing, do not perceive.
-
So showed me from morning time. But I did not notice.
-
When I said, God, please show me again and show
-
me the verse I should use. It showed me again
-
this verse. And when I was thirteen or fourteen, when
-
I got a light mind to understand around myself. When
-
I was young, too young, in my whole life, I
-
was looking for God. In my whole life, I was
-
looking for God.
-
God knows. But I never quit. Never I did not live.
-
I always have been on that way to looking for God.
-
My mom sent me to some religion, some religion school,
-
and somewhere else. We've done a lot of things about
-
religion and to also about acted. So one of the
-
big things was in my mind when I was too young.
-
I'm saying about young people. First I was in Iran.
-
I said, good, if someone burns in the first jungle.
-
How they can understand you? Who wants to.
-
Define about you to them or introduce you to them?
-
And if I was born Jewish or Christian or any ideology,
-
because there are many ways people are following. So who
-
could who could say Jesus is true? All glory bit
-
to God. So when I got this age, I think
-
I turned to forty years thanks to God and revealed
-
to me the mission ended and started another mission. So
-
I wasn't my parents choose to both?
-
I was.
-
We got two brothers, that's all. They choose him. But
-
I wasn't they choose look at God's way to light
-
people to shoot? Okay? So you were thinking about someone
-
if born in younger? Okay, you were my choose. I
-
got to be to God.
-
I gave book to them, the Bible.
-
I've been around thirty five or thirty three, four years
-
south of Iran. Whoever whoever was around me. I introduced
-
Jesus to them. Also I gave the book. It's not
-
easy to find a book in my country. I had
-
connection by Germany and also America. They sent me by
-
post by Ryan address.
-
I took it.
-
It was many books, not just one, not just two,
-
not just tree like these books. And then I moved
-
North Afria for two years. Also that side, I was
-
talking about Jesus to them, How amazing is God.
-
Don't be shy.
-
If I'm using some word, please, because God hasn't created
-
us to be shy. If you cannot understand my word,
-
maybe that's my bad. So I'm talking about botion. If
-
I'm saying correct, how important bortion is in all of
-
the world. They're fighting to make it legal Jesus. So
-
they cannot fight against God. They cannot never. So Now
-
if someone thinking, oh, if someone lives in jungle or
-
far away, they cannot touch any technology, book or something,
-
how they can understand God has put something within us.
-
You cannot live alone.
-
If someone says, no, there's no God, but he's following something,
-
you cannot understand. He's okay, you're following science. Science shows
-
you there's God. Yes, a lot of things. I'm going
-
to finish it. So obedience and gratitude must learn, and
-
we will find the ability to move to recognition, to acceptance.
-
Please speak that word. It riveled to me Jesus. So
-
some people are ashamed. They think, oh, I'm too old,
-
I shouldn't do this. I can did memorize verse pastor challenge.
-
I am not young, I'm not kid. Also, I'm not old.
-
I'm in bitwain. I product to my age, but all
-
glory be to Gods. I am seven for him. So
-
if there is pastal challenge, picky quick, picky quick, for that,
-
you have to go forward.
-
You shouldn't go back.
-
I can memorize it, and also I can leave it you.
-
No, I don't need to do.
-
You need to encourage people, be very very open for
-
His actions.
-
You will see what does for you.
-
The elders of the church are carrying lights from the Jesus.
-
If we are here, we are here.
-
To find something. But here is not outside. So people
-
can give you lights. Your friend can give your lights,
-
your parents can give your lights. But this light is
-
completely different. You have to pick it. You have to
-
put it in the center, not on the left, not right,
-
not behind. You pick it from here for a whole week,
-
and next week you will get a little bit more
-
shine depends your capacity, your carry and then God will
-
give you more and more and more and more. God
-
bless all of you.
-
So our Rash mentioned age. So age has been a
-
factor for me in the last couple of weeks because
-
I got to sixty. I like it.
-
I like it.
-
Thank you a Rash.
-
I think for me what I heard from you is
-
very much about we have a responsibility to hear from
-
God for ourselves and to respond that. It's not just
-
about hearing. We can read the Bible, we can go
-
out and we can do whatever. But if we read
-
the Bible and we hear God and we respond to God,
-
then we go out and we do different things. And
-
I just wanted to reflect back on a word Showler bought.
-
See I was listening. I was listening. So I've read
-
this scripture several times. Shola preached on it. So this
-
was blind Bartimaeus. This is actually Luke's version. So there
-
is blind Bartimaeus sitting by the road where he always sat,
-
hearing loads of people go by, and they told him
-
that Jesus of Nazareth was the one going by, and
-
he cried out and said, Jesus, son of David, have
-
mercy on me. So this is just a guy. He'd
-
not met Jesus, he hadn't been taught, but sat there
-
in his normal place, begging at the side of the road.
-
God spoke to him because he knew to say son
-
of David. He recognized who God was, who Jesus was,
-
And Jesus stood still and said, come to me. And
-
they said, oh, okay, he wants you so and then
-
he Jesus said to him, what do you want me
-
to do for you? And he's said, Lord, that I
-
may receive my sight, and Jesus said, receive your site.
-
Your faith has made you well. So that I think
-
this is such an example of a man being in
-
the right place at the right time, with an open
-
heart and a willing heart, because he could have just
-
sat there, you know, he didn't have to cry out.
-
I think the version Shoulder read it sounded like actually
-
people thought he was a bit of a nuisance crying out,
-
sort of telling him to shush. But he had a
-
conviction in his heart, just like the man who might
-
be living in a jungle, who might be living, you know,
-
far from anybody who could explain, or away from technology,
-
away from even the Bible. You know, appreciating Arash what
-
you said that Bibles in Iran are not readily available,
-
Praise God that you managed to import some and share them.
-
You know, God blessed that word that you shared. However,
-
many years ago that there are still those Bibles are
-
still speaking God and salvation to people in Iran. So yeah,
-
I just want to say Thank you for the word Sean.
-
I did remember it. I'm still reading it. But being
-
in the right place at the right time, with the
-
right heart and being willing to move is the kind
-
of combination we need to have. So has anybody else
-
got a testimony?
-
Oh?
-
Come, Selma, come, I mean not go over the technology.
-
Good morning everyone. Firstly, I would like to warn everyone,
-
like apologize if I have a shaky wise because I've
-
been reading for this moment. And firstly, praise God for
-
this moment of testimony that he has a point in
-
my life because I've been waiting for a long time.
-
It's not like I don't have any testimonies. I have
-
tons of testimonies, but I've been waiting for this moment.
-
I was asking God, I want to start my sharing
-
from this point with this testimony. So I was being
-
childish with him during my prayer and praise God. He
-
was faithful and He's faithful forever. And I would like
-
to share that I got a job. Praise God, and
-
thank you church family. Thank you because we've been praying
-
for my job for a long time and you all
-
were with me in this journey. I really thank each
-
one of you, and thank you Jonathan my husband, because
-
he was with me no matter what people said he was.
-
He stood next to me and he was like.
-
Don't worry, just go whatever God does. He knows he
-
has his perfect time. Thank you for that and thank you,
-
thank you so much. And I would like to say
-
that God has plans to prosper us, not to harm us,
-
and it's it's for each one of us. And he
-
can do impossible things to possible. And praise God. And
-
now I'll start my testimony journey every.
-
Time, I mean every opportunity.
-
I'll not lose it, like I'll start it from my
-
first testimony to date from next time. And thank you Jesus,
-
thank you for this day.
-
Thank you Sama. And it's a good job. It's the
-
right job for you. And even before you start it,
-
God's increased it for you. So Sama applied for a
-
job which was a certain number of hours, and then
-
even before she started, they've given.
-
Her more hours. So praise God.
-
Anybody else got a testimony before we have, Oh.
-
Yeah, yeah, praise God. Yesterday I was studying the Word
-
and I was reading John telf So as I read
-
about Lazarus dying, Jesus knowing is gonna be dead, but
-
he wants to use that as a testimony. So Jesus
-
goes and raise and speaks, Lazarus, come forth.
-
You know what happened.
-
Lazarus comes forth, he says, and take off whatever bind
-
seems so he can be free.
-
So I'm looking at how.
-
Jesus, with just one word causes somebody who is long dead,
-
decaying and smelling, probably that the womb had already bastard,
-
because before you bury somebody, you keep him a day
-
or two.
-
Then they say he was buried for four days. And
-
I sat there and I pondered, and I said, God,
-
how can this be?
-
You know how you sit there and start imagining. Of
-
course Jesus is God.
-
But then the next time he sits as he was before.
-
He's reclining with him at the table and they are
-
eating together. And then the people who saw this, like me,
-
were just so shocked that this happened. What did they do?
-
The next day? They laid palm trees and everything. In all,
-
they didn't have any more words to say. As believers,
-
we need to get to a place where we believe God,
-
where we have no words to say. Cherion was encouraging
-
us to say, there is nothing bigger than God. God
-
sees our problems before they happen.
-
So in all of.
-
This they laid palm trees, and he came, and they
-
could only say, Whosannah, hoosana? That was they could they
-
well shot for words, Whosana?
-
Can the church get?
-
Can we get to a place where even before we
-
see anything that we are looking for, get to that
-
position where we say, God, you can you already have
-
done this? Hosanna to you who has already saved me,
-
who has brought me to this place of glory, who
-
has a.
-
Plan for me.
-
Whether you're born in the jungle, like Arius, Aras was
-
here sharing and you, he identified with us in the jungle.
-
He was born in the couch shed, he was born
-
to identify with the poor. So that we may not
-
say it's only for kings, it's only for the land,
-
it's only for graduates that we can get to this
-
place where we say Hosanna.
-
What can I say?
-
I'm short of words apart from saying Hosanna to you
-
must high Hosana, my father, my king, my deliverer, my healer,
-
my advocate, Hosanna.
-
You've seen this and you've got.
-
A plan so yes, our Hosan, where is our Hosanna?
-
As we move in the next position, we require faith
-
to get there. We require faith to make a difference.
-
We require faith to participate in what the church is doing.
-
Let's take our positions Hosanna.
-
Thank you, Dear.
-
Anybody else Okay, we'll come around the word. So Dave's
-
bringing the word. Might even pray for you, Father God,
-
I thank you for Dave, and I thank you for
-
the word that you've given him for us for this morning. Lord,
-
you only give words that are in season. So this
-
word is for us who are here and those listening
-
online and who will listen later, and it's for today.
-
So I pray you would help Dave to utter words
-
that are truly and only from the heart of God.
-
Amen.
-
Amen, Thank you.
-
Do I need this?
-
Jonathan?
-
Okay, we're talking about abundance this month in September. October,
-
sorry October, talking about abundance. So I don't know whether
-
you live in abundance in the United Kingdom, but it
-
doesn't seem like it is full of abundance, because for me,
-
abundance means we have more than enough, more than enough, plenty,
-
more than enough. And so when you put your hand
-
in your pocket and there's nothing there. Am I living
-
in abundance. I have the privilege of being a trustee
-
of Abba Father's House, the orphanage in Uganda, and every
-
week juliet sends me a little email that says, Dave,
-
can you send this money to Uganda? Because we got
-
we manage the money we send and I feel very
-
rich every week because Juliette says, please send a hundred
-
or two hundred pounds. That's millions of Ugandan shillings. My
-
wife got dressed up for her birthday party and Debbie
-
did her hair, and I thought, you look like a
-
million dollars. It's saying we use, isn't it. You look
-
like a million dollar and we think a million's a
-
big number. So when I talk about abundance today, I
-
wonder how big you're thinking. Because abundance, well, do you
-
know what, Well, I could be a millionaire every week
-
because I send over a million Ugandan shillings to Uganda.
-
Not my money, it's Abba Father's houses money. But just
-
just typing that number into the exchange system, it got
-
lots of numbers.
-
You know, I could pick up this.
-
It's a thousand scholar Kumbe one thousand Nira from Nigeria.
-
I believe it's worth about fifty pence. So to say
-
you look like a million dollars will be to say
-
you look like about five hundred quid in Nira. I
-
could say in Venezuela, you look like a million bolivar.
-
That would be about twenty quid. So we talk different languages,
-
we talk different currencies.
-
Some of you know.
-
I worked in Papua New Guinea for a number of
-
years and they used to call me Brother David. They
-
used to call me Brother David because they were very
-
sad that I didn't have a wife. I was twenty
-
three years old at the time, and so they gave
-
me this. And this is a necklace in red coral
-
that is enough to buy a wife in Papua New Guinea.
-
They gave this to me because they said, brother Dave,
-
you need a wife. I'm glad I waited, but I
-
promised Joel. I promised Joel this. I said, I'm going
-
to give you a million dollars today and we'll get
-
to that in a moment. Now you're all excited, don't you.
-
You're all excited. We'll get to that in a moment.
-
Let's just have a few scriptures just to encourage us
-
on the way. Jonathan, do you want to bring up
-
the first one? Do you know you're special, You're precious,
-
You're unique? And it says in Psalm one hundred and
-
thirty nine, where you formed my inward parts, you covered
-
me in my mother's room.
-
You are not a mistake.
-
I want to declare this because I think it's very important,
-
very interesting that Arash said about abortion. You know, you
-
are created in God's image. Every one of you, not
-
just not that's the best looking people. Every one of
-
you is created in God's image. And it goes on.
-
David goes on to say, I praise you for I
-
am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are your works, and
-
that my soul knows very well. I want you to
-
look at yourself and put your hand upon yourself and say,
-
i'd be made in God's image, and I am precious.
-
And so I want to declare that. I want to
-
proclaim that. I want to shout that out. And if
-
you ever doubt, if you kind of look at yourself
-
in the mirror and go ooh, you're looking a bit
-
wrinkly today, or do you've got a spot you know,
-
just wash the spot will go away, and look back
-
in the mirror and say, you're looking good today. I
-
want to encourage you to feel good about yourself because
-
it's one of the lies the enemy loves to keep
-
on rubbing in our face. Oh you're not quite as good.
-
It's one of the reasons why one of the biggest
-
industries in the world is makeup and creams and those
-
kind of things. It's one of the biggest industries in
-
the world. And there are a number of I've got
-
a couple of friends who said I'm going make up free.
-
They say, I feel really good about myself now because
-
I don't have to worry about all this stuff to
-
put on. Jonathan, give me the next next scripture. So
-
I'm just going to go through a few scriptures I
-
want to. I've not got the quotes in front of me.
-
You're going to sick, yes, okay, okay, it's just not
-
on that screen there. We're trying to get really technical.
-
We've got a screen in front of us now. In
-
Isaiah forty three, verse four, and Chola influenced by you
-
amplified because you are pressing.
-
Now, why are we pressured?
-
Because you are precious in my sight and honored, and
-
because I love you, I will give men in return
-
for you, and people's in exchange for your life. God
-
actually ultimately did this when he sent his son Jesus
-
John three to sixteen. God sent his one and only
-
son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but
-
have everlasting life. Now, these are the precious things that
-
God has for us, the precious things that he shows us,
-
the precious things that He wants to bring to us.
-
In one Peter two nine, it says, but you are
-
a chosen generation. Do you know you are chosen? You're
-
not a mistake, and you are chosen, a chosen and
-
not just a chosen person, A chosen generation, a royal priesthood,
-
a holy nation, a holy nation set apart his own
-
special people. We're not just ordinary people. We're His special
-
people that you may so, why are we saying all this?
-
Why are we chosen? Why are we royal? Why are
-
we holy?
-
Why are we a special people that you may proclaim?
-
That means speaking out loud, guys, I want to encourage you.
-
I've shared this with a few people. This week, I said,
-
do you know what, I'm getting more used to praying
-
out loud. I used to do quite a bit of
-
praying in my head. I did quite a bit of
-
praying in my head because I didn't want to disturb people.
-
Here's a little trick. I should have brought my headphones
-
out with me. I'm going to be doing this. I'm
-
going into London this week. I'm going to be putting
-
my headphones in and then the lead will go into
-
my pocket, but it won't be connected to my phone,
-
and I'll be talking on my headphones and I'll be
-
praying out loud as I'm walking. Because none of us
-
think it's crazy when we see somebody walking down the
-
road with headphones in. Well, okay, just talking to someone
-
on the phone. So why can't we pray it out
-
loud as we're walking. It's a simple little trick, you know.
-
We're just do you know what? When we pray in
-
our heads, it gets all confused, It all gets mushed up.
-
We don't make sentences, We just get concepts and they
-
all get blurred up. And do you know when we
-
have to actually put it into a sentence, it becomes clear.
-
It becomes formed, it becomes.
-
Formulated, and speaking it forth is a moment of faith.
-
When it's still in our head, it's just a concept.
-
When we speak it forth, we make it.
-
You know. Salma said, you know, I'm coming up here,
-
and I'm shaking a little bit.
-
You know. She was nervous, you know, but when she
-
started to speak, calmness came upon her. When we speak,
-
confidence comes. So we are chosen royal, holy and special,
-
so that we proclaim his praises for him who called
-
out of darkness where we were into his fantastic light.
-
Now I'm not just talking about a torch light. Now,
-
I'm not just talking about strip lights. I'm talking about
-
imagine yourself being on the biggest stage in the world
-
and a spotlight is shining on you. That's the kind
-
of his marvelous light that I read about. And this
-
is my memory verse for this week. So I'm giving
-
you a bit of warning here now, not the amplified version,
-
by the way, But Zephah, When was the last time
-
anybody in the room read Zephyniah? Yeah, when I meet
-
him in when I meet him in heaven, I'm probably
-
going to have to say, do you know I didn't
-
read your book very often.
-
I'm really sorry, and again.
-
Amplify the Lord, your God is in the midst of you,
-
a mighty one, a savior who saves. He will rejoice
-
over you with joy. He will rest in silent satisfaction.
-
You know that moment when you go, that's silent satisfaction.
-
I know I still went. But you know, as parents,
-
when your children do something brilliant, you just you sink
-
in yourself and you go, oh, this.
-
Is a moment. He will rejoice over you with joy.
-
He will rest in silent satisfaction and in his love.
-
He will be silent and make no mention of past
-
sins or even recall them. He will exalt over you
-
with singing for anybody who's had I have a voice,
-
Julia told me. Julia and I were at university together.
-
We were in the same block. We were nearly neighbors.
-
There was a staircase between us, and I like singing.
-
And apparently I didn't know this till quite many, many
-
weeks later, but I used to go in the shower
-
and sing. It's a shared shower, you know, there'll be
-
a shower on each floor. And apparently I had my
-
I managed to the right note that made the pipes
-
in the building vibrate. So I'd be singing in the
-
shower and the pipes in the building would be vibrating.
-
But do you know what, I know that I have
-
a fairly resonant voice. I know I have a loud voice,
-
and there have been various children that I've sung over,
-
just like I believe this scripture is about. Because there's
-
something about going from spoken word to singing. I've got
-
some people I know who've got Alzheimer's, do you know what?
-
Sing a song from their children from Sunday school from
-
They can remember every word, they can't remember what they
-
had for dinner yesterday, but start a song and they'll
-
finish it. There's something about singing, you know. And why
-
are choir is so popular? It's because we corporately do
-
something together. And do you know what, I think that's
-
just an illustration of Heaven. You know, we're designed to
-
sing even if you've got even if you think you've
-
got an average voice, and we can all sing again
-
at university. Julie and I used to have a couple
-
oh what was his name? Who couldn't sing? Ohen, Yes,
-
there he goes straight away she knew. We'd often sit
-
in front of Owen in church, and he wasn't very tuneful.
-
But you know what, he loved worshiping God, and I
-
loved hearing him worship God. Okay, you couldn't follow a tune.
-
He couldn't tell you. When people say they're tone deaf,
-
they can't tell you which is up and which is down.
-
You know, you go.
-
Most of us are not tone deaf. We just need
-
to train our voices better. Could We would completely agree
-
with me on this one, and she could help you
-
with that if you were.
-
As an advert for you, Joe Jingles.
-
But you know what, he rejoices over us with singing.
-
In Corinthians, it says this, therefore, why are we done this? Therefore,
-
if any person is ingrafted, not just aligned ingrafted, ingrafting
-
is about cutting into a tree and putting something else
-
in there, so that you draw strength and sustenance from
-
the plant you've been grafted into. Ingrafted in Christ, the Messiah,
-
He is a new creation. We are new creations when
-
we're grafted in. That means a new creature all together.
-
The old, previously moral and spiritual.
-
Condition has passed away. It's dead.
-
Behold afresh and new has come. Jean, I just love
-
this scripture. I think this is fantastic. Therefore, if any
-
person be grafted into Christ. And so why am I
-
telling you all of this? I'll come to my final
-
verse in a moment, Joel, when you come and help me,
-
I want you to give one of these to everybody.
-
What does it? What does it say on there?
-
Million pounds, pounds.
-
Dollar?
-
Okay?
-
So Joel is going to come around and give you
-
a million dollar note, one each. It's my gift to you.
-
It's my gift to you. And you might think wow
-
when you say to someone you look a million dollars. Okay,
-
depends what currency you're talking depends depends which dollars you're
-
talking about. Do you know what there's something worth more
-
than a million dollars? You're worth more than a million dollars.
-
And as Joel brings that around, I want to end
-
with a story a friend that I know quite well,
-
Colin Dye, who used did in League Kensington Temple. He
-
was out doing a mission in Brazil. He'd been ministering morning, afternoon,
-
evening and he was tired and one of the meetings
-
that he was meant to be involved in got canceled.
-
The whole weekend got canceled, and so he had an
-
opportunity to go home earlier. So he rang up the
-
airline and he wanted to get a ticket to come
-
home early. And it was going to cost him thousands
-
of dollars more to change his ticket to come home early.
-
And do you know what, he kind of thought, well,
-
maybe I could stay, but I want to be back
-
with my kids. So he paid a couple of thousand
-
dollars for this extra seat, thinking what a waste of money.
-
And he sat down in the plane and the lady
-
sitting next to him turned to him and said, so,
-
I can't remember her name, but she's She introduced herself,
-
he said, and who are you? And he started talking
-
and they talked all the way back from Brazil. All
-
the way back. He led her to Christ on the plane.
-
He talked about miracles.
-
He prayed for her. I believe she was healed on
-
the plane as well. And do you know what.
-
He got to Heathrow and as he got off the
-
plane as is, he said, farewell to them, Farewell to
-
this lady, he said, and said it was worth one thousand
-
dollars to sit next to you. Just think about it.
-
I'm not really giving you a million dollars. Sadly, it
-
does look like a million dollar notes, but if you
-
turn it over on the other side, it talks about
-
how precious you are, how.
-
Valuable you are. And I want to give you all
-
one of those.
-
Put it in your wallet, put it in your pocket,
-
put it in your handbag, and then give it away
-
to somebody. Don't just give it away. Talk about it.
-
Are you taking one for yourself? Do you want one
-
as well? You're welcome, You've got one. Okay, good? Because
-
I believe you're a million dollars. I believe you're wonderful,
-
beautiful people. And I'm not talking of Venezuelan Bolivar, and
-
I'm not even talking to you Agandon shillings. I'm talking
-
dollars or more than dollars. Maybe there are accourrencies that
-
are better than the US dollar.
-
I don't know.
-
But do you know what you have been paid as
-
a price has been paid for you?
-
The Lord God, the Lord your God.
-
In your midst, the Mighty One will save, He will
-
rejoice over you with gladness. For those listening at home,
-
I believe this is true. As well. He will quiet
-
you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.
-
Let me pray, Father God, thank you for the privilege
-
to know more about you. Thank you that you made
-
away despite our sin and our humanity, and our fleshfulness
-
and our lustful desires. Father, even though we've made bad choices, Lord,
-
you still sent your one and only son, Jesus to
-
die in our place and pay a price for our sin.
-
And let us know freedom from guilt and freedom from
-
the fear of sin and death. And so, Father God,
-
we embrace the fullness of that truth. Help us to
-
walk in it. We pray in Gus's mighty name.
