Let me pray, Father, thank you for Peter. Father, I
-
thank you for his ministry.
-
Father.
-
I think he's got a heart for the world, for
-
the nation, for preaching the gospel, for seeing churches arise
-
and be different and be touched and filled by your spirit.
-
Father.
-
I pray that Lord, you move in our hearts as
-
we hear your work today in Jesus name. Amen, Amen,
-
thank you.
-
Yeah. Good to be with you in this expression of
-
what was running meat Christian fellowship or community church in
-
it's various times. I've been in four different meeting places
-
I think since I've started visiting you many many years ago.
-
We were in a little chapel kind of Then we
-
were in a school, then we were around the corner
-
by the station, and here we are, and I think
-
this is the best of the lot. Yeah, yeah, and
-
is the beginning of a new adventure for you, I'm sure.
-
So it really is encouraging to be with you. I
-
was Saturday and Sunday morning. I play the keyboard a
-
little bit, well, the piano. I don't like the keyboard,
-
it's too complicated. The acoustic piano is my limit. But
-
I play a bit like Les Dawson for those of
-
you are older and remember but I was playing this
-
morning and one of the songs I played was for you,
-
O Lord, art high above all the earth, I exhort you.
-
So I was really encouraged this morning to feel, hey,
-
we're in the flow and this is good news. So
-
I'm encouraged that we're going to experience something of God's
-
presence and God's power this morning as we meet together.
-
I've been around for many years. Last week, last Sunday
-
was my birthday. How old do you think I was? Yeah?
-
So how old do you think I was last Sunday?
-
Come on, come on, be honest. I've got a daughter
-
of fifty three. Or we've got a daughter of fifty three,
-
so we're one hundred and three nearly. Yeah, up higher higher, Yeah. No.
-
I was seventy six last weekend. And Irene and I
-
got married in nineteen seventy, so we've been married fifty
-
three years. We also started in ministry not that far
-
from here in Barnett, North London, in nineteen seventy, so
-
we've been around and we're still going and we're looking
-
forward to a new season for us as well. We're
-
actually moving to Warton on the knees up on the
-
Essex coast there in the next couple of months. Not
-
to retire, well kind of, but in response to prophetic encouragement.
-
And we believe we going into another new season for us.
-
So we're excited. We're not settling down or dying. We're
-
living with a real sense of expectation of being part
-
of a move of the Spirit of God. I've written
-
five books, actually, Dave the first one. It's about the
-
Holy Spirit. Lots of prophetic words about what I believe
-
God is going to do, and also a basic theological
-
outline of the work of the Holy Spirit. Anybody like
-
that book, Here you are, my dear catch that, Yeah
-
all right. I shouldn't have thrown it. I should get
-
you to get it. Here's one on the gifts of
-
the Spirit. Number two, Yes, sir, you're very encouraging. Yeah,
-
come and get that. Yeah all right, yeah, all right.
-
And then anybody wondering what God has for them and
-
the ministry my brother from Iran at the back. Yeah yeah, yeah,
-
that's for you. All right. I've got two and I'm
-
not giving them away. You left to buy them. This
-
one's called Our Journey. It's the story of our journey
-
with God. Somebody read it and said to me, I
-
believe God is going to use this book to bring
-
people back to Him, people who've known what it is
-
to walk with God and have walked away from God,
-
that they're going to read it and be touched by
-
God and start their journey back to God. That's available
-
fiver of that one. And this one is a funny book.
-
It's called A Time to Laugh. I wrote it after
-
the COVID thing when there was a lot of miserable
-
people about. And it's full of stories of mission experiences.
-
When we've been on mission. Some funny things have happened.
-
Some of them will make you smile, some of them
-
will make you laugh, laugh out loud, some of them
-
will horrify you. But all the money from that book,
-
I raised the money to have it printed, and every
-
penny from the sale of that book goes to missions.
-
And that's a fiber as well. In fact, every book
-
on the back table there is a fiver and if
-
you buy four for twenty pounds, you can have the
-
fifth one for nothing. So there you are. I'm not
-
trying to get rid of them. I just want to
-
give you the opportunity to take these of their hands
-
and whatever. Okay, so that's the commercial and I can
-
take cards by the way, yeah as well. So I'm
-
speaking this morning on a prophetic word that came to
-
us at a little while ago in the church. But
-
I felt it's more than a word for our church.
-
It's a word for the church, and therefore you, as
-
part of the church, this is a word for you.
-
It comes in three statements, wake up, look up, and
-
rise up. And I believe in those three statements we
-
have a word from God to encourage and inspire us
-
in this present day in which we're living. Wake up,
-
because if you don't wake up, you'll sleep through it
-
and miss it. Have you had that experience? At seventy six?
-
It's increasingly happening to me. I'm a football fan, and
-
for some reason, they put Match of the Day on
-
late Saturday night, and my team are never on first
-
because they're not good enough. And so I start at
-
half past ten watching the football and I get through
-
the first couple of matches, and then I wake up
-
in the middle of some other match and I've slept
-
through it and missed it. You had that experience? I
-
know my wife does. She starts watching a film and
-
then she goes to sleep. She wakes up, she said,
-
what happened? What happened? Because you go to sleep. Now
-
here's a really deep thing. We've got some students here
-
this morning. So yeah, so they're clever, aren't they students? Clever? Yeah? Anyway,
-
so here's a really deep thing. Listen to this. You
-
don't know you've been to sleep until you wake up.
-
Think about it. This is very deep. You don't know
-
you're asleep until you wake up. It's true, isn't it.
-
You don't look back, So, hell, I went to sleep.
-
Then when you wake up, you think, oh, I've been asleep,
-
And you don't know that you've been asleep until you
-
wake up. So it's possible to be asleep and not
-
realize it. In fact, you never realize you're asleep until
-
you wake up. You think I've been asleep. And I
-
think for many believers and many churches and networks and
-
Christians today, they are asleep and they're not aware of it. Asleep.
-
I'm not aware of it. That's a really unfortunate, disappointing
-
condition to be in. I believe that God wants us
-
to wake up, you know, God worked amongst these people
-
through Joshua. And there's a very powerful chapter, chapter three
-
of Joshua. And in that chapter we find Joshua waking
-
up early in the morning. It says, a Joshua arose
-
early in the morning, and God did incredible things through
-
him that day they went through the Jordan. The Jordan
-
opened up miracles. But if he'd ha stayed asleep, he'd
-
have missed it. If you're going to be part of
-
what God's doing, you've got to wake up. And we
-
have to wake up to what he's doing. You know,
-
in Isaiah fifty one and fifty two, three times God
-
says exactly the same thing, and he starts all three
-
of those verses with these words awake, awake, oaion, awake awake.
-
Why did he tell his people to awake because they
-
were asleep? In fact, here's some really deep theology. Following
-
Isaiah fifty one, You've got Isaiah fifty two, and it's
-
in those chapters. Three times God says, awake awake, I'm
-
going to do something. I'm going to move, I'm coming.
-
And in Isaiah fifty three, which follows I fifty two,
-
we have this prophetic word about the coming Messiah who's
-
going to come and suffer and die and pay the
-
price for people's sin, and God saying, wake up, wake up,
-
because your salvation is coming. And what happened when he
-
came to his people, they were asleep and they missed
-
it because the very people he came to, the Jewish nation,
-
to Israel, when he was born and lived when Jesus came,
-
what happened they missed it because they were asleep. And
-
he longed for them to respond to him and come
-
to him and experience this wonderful salvation. But they slept
-
through it and missed it. It's really serious, you know,
-
to be asleep and not aware of what is happening.
-
We need to be aware of what's going on in
-
our world. There's a verse in one Chronicles twelve. It's
-
one of my favorite verses, and it says this. In
-
One Chronicles twelve thirty two talks about the sons of
-
Isakah who had understanding of the times to know what
-
Israel ought to do. There were these people who had
-
understanding of the times and knew what the people of
-
God should do. And I believe for us as the church,
-
with this prophetic anointing, that we have and this prophetic
-
gifting that we have. We need to be aware of
-
the times in which we're living and know what we
-
ought to be doing. The world is in chaos, The
-
world is in a mess. What is going to be
-
the next horrific news item that we watch. It's almost
-
like at lunchtime today, you might switch on the news
-
and you just know that there's going to be another
-
bomb drop, There's going to be another chaos chaotic situation.
-
There's going to be another flood, another fire, another disaster,
-
another train crash. It's like we're living in a world
-
full of chaos, and we need to understand the times
-
because Jesus spoke about times of chaos and wars and
-
rumors of wars. And as I understand what I'm reading
-
and what I'm seeing, I believe that God is saying
-
to us one of two things, or even both one thing.
-
Either Jesus is coming again very soon because this world
-
is in such chaos, or we desperately need a move
-
of the Holy Spirit to come and change the situation
-
because we can't go on in this chaotic world. I'm
-
kind of I know many people were looking for the
-
change of government to make a difference. It's almost like
-
within three months the answer is not there. The answer
-
is in a significant, powerful intervention of the Holy Spirit.
-
That's the only thing that's going to change it. Or
-
Jesus is coming again, or it's both, because the scriptures
-
speak of both, and we need to wake up to
-
what's happening. I don't know if you are aware of this,
-
but in nineteen seventeen in Moscow in Russia, Oh, what's
-
the bloke's name, Stalin and his friends Lenin Rather and
-
his friends were gathered together to plan the over pro
-
of the Czar of Russia and to initiate a communist regime,
-
and very successfully, within a few years, the whole of
-
the Eastern Lot countries came under the domination of an
-
atheistic communistic philosophy and up the road. At exactly the
-
same time, the Orthodox Church were having a convention and
-
they were discussing what color vest the priest should wear
-
on Easter Sunday, whether it should be purple or blue.
-
While the world is coming under demonic influence and activity,
-
the church is discussing what color shirt to wear. We
-
need to wake up to what's happening in church. We
-
need to wake up to what is happening in our world.
-
There are things going on in our world that we
-
need to be aware of in order to respond as
-
God comes. You know, in the church, extraordinary things are happening.
-
God is pouring out his spirit in unprecedented ways in
-
unprecedented places. The church is in decline in the West,
-
but in extraordinary growth patterns in the East. It's interesting
-
that we've got a brother from Iran here. You know
-
where the fastest growing church in the world is today.
-
It's in Iran and Afghanistan, both of which get a
-
bad press as countries for their political stance and activities.
-
But God is working and moving in those very places.
-
And China is still expressed, experiencing extraordinary growth. And God
-
is working in India. The church in India is larger
-
than it has ever been in the whole of history. Hey,
-
so God is working. God is moving by his spirit.
-
God is doing extraordinary things in extraordinary ways. We've got
-
some students here this morning. Let me encourage you. God
-
is moving amongst the student population. Last year in February
-
or at the end of January in a small college,
-
small Christian College University in Asbury, a few students stayed
-
behind after their service to pray and wait upon God.
-
The service was over, the benediction that happened, and half
-
a dozen students began to cry out to God that
-
he would come, and he came, and the power of
-
God broke in upon that place. And God came with
-
his presence and his power, and the rest of the
-
college was impacted, and students began to gather from There
-
were only a thousand students in the college, and they
-
into the auditorium, the main one, which held six hundred
-
and fifty people, and within a short time it was
-
jammed packed with students crying out to God, and the
-
Holy Spirit fell upon them, and kids were having radical
-
transforming experiences and encounters with God. And it broke out
-
all over the place until people from all around the
-
world were gathering. And a friend of mine called rich
-
Wilson actually went and was part of it. He knew
-
the leaders of it, and he came into the middle
-
of this thing. He said, it was the most extraordinary
-
thing he'd ever seen in the church. The police had
-
put up signs half a mile out from the town,
-
the small town of Asbury, saying revival for no car
-
parking space because people couldn't get into the town they
-
were and people the move of God was so power
-
that people watching on the screens outside waiting to get
-
in the gatherings. We're having these transforming encounters with the
-
power of the Holy Spirit. Hey, and it didn't stop there.
-
All around the world we're hearing stories of student communities
-
being impacted by the presence of God. You're in the
-
right place, girls, Yeah, you're in the right place because
-
God is coming by his spirit and moving powerfully in
-
the world in which we live, and we need to
-
be aware of that and respond to what God is doing.
-
It's great to hear that you moved out to accommodate
-
that because you believe God is going to work in
-
that way for you. Guys, we need to be aware
-
of what's happening in the world in terms of mental health.
-
I don't need to go through the statistics with you,
-
but just to say it is absolutely phenomenal what is happening.
-
I watched the news just about a year ago on
-
BBC News and they declared that three hundred thousand people
-
had not returned to work following COVID with mental health issues.
-
Three hundred thousand. The next week, there was an article
-
on the news BBC News that one hundred thousand eleven
-
to eighteen eleven to eighteen year olds had not returned
-
to school due to anxiety and fear. When I spoke
-
about that in the Midlands, the Director of Education for
-
the West Midlands was in the meeting. He came to me.
-
He said, it's not just one hundred thousand, he said,
-
it's a phenomenal number of eleven to eighteen year olds
-
whose mental health has been absolutely devastated by the COVID experience,
-
and fear and anxiety and depression is rampant amongst our teenagers.
-
We're living in a world where people, you know, people
-
in your street, your neighbors, are struggling with mental health issues.
-
It's a massive, massive problem. And I could speak for
-
ages about that, but I don't want to accept. To
-
say this that I believe God's heart is moved by
-
people who are in need, and I believe that God
-
sees the need of the people in our nation, and
-
I believe the cry of the people is being heard
-
in heaven. You know. In the Old Testament, in Exodus
-
chapter two, it talks about the children of Israel, and
-
it says this in Exodus two twenty three, the Israelites
-
were still groaning under their slavery, and they cried out
-
for help. Their cry went up to God, who heard
-
their groaning. He saw the bondage of the Israelites and
-
was concerned for them. God heard their groaning. I believe
-
God hears the groaning of people who are struggling and
-
suffering with anxiety and fear and depression in our day,
-
in our country, in our streets, in our towns. I
-
believe that when Jesus spoke in Matthew nine, as he
-
looked across the multitude, and his heart was moved with
-
compassion because he saw they were tired and scattered like
-
sheep without a shepherd. I believe that Jesus' heart is
-
still the same in heaven, and he sees people who
-
are struggling and suffering, and his heart is moved with compassion.
-
And I believe we as the Church are the people
-
with the answer to Thank God for every organization for
-
national health, for every medication and help that is available.
-
But actually it's an encounter, a transforming encounter with Jesus
-
that's going to make the difference we need to wake up.
-
We need to wake up. I believe God hears the
-
cry of people's hearts. I've been reading a lot about
-
the move of the Spirit one hundred years ago, the
-
Pentecostal move of the Spirit. In the twenties and early thirties,
-
there was a phenomenal move amongst the working class of
-
our country. It didn't touch the established church and the
-
middle classes. It was a working class movement. The twenties
-
were very difficult years. There was massive unemployment, there was
-
no national health Any medical treatment you needed you had
-
to pay for, and people had no money. The homelessness,
-
homelessness was rife. There were major social problems. Alcoholism was rampant,
-
and people were living in dreadful poor conditions. And the
-
twenties and Notorious you read their history, our social history
-
of this country, and you'll read that in the twenties
-
there were massive, massive problems. I believe God heard the
-
cry of people in those days and he raised up
-
healing evangelists and George and Steven Jeffreys and Smith Wigglesworth
-
were rampant in this country and held massive crusades in
-
working class areas all around London. I visit barking regularly
-
and embarking. In nineteen twenty four, there was an extraordinary
-
move of the Holy Spirit, and there hundreds and thousands
-
of people came to Christ. Incredible miracles took place because
-
God heard the cry of the people. And I believe
-
God is hearing the cry of people with mental health
-
problems and anxiety and fear and depression, and He's raising
-
up people and ministries and Julia to minister to people
-
with those needs because he hears the cry of those people,
-
as he did in the nineteen twenties. And God moved
-
and worked, and extraordinary things happened. I mean miracles of
-
the most extraordinary order. My favorite miracle is the miracle
-
of a young nine year old girl who had no
-
eyes at all, just eye sockets, and hands were laid
-
on her and she was prayed for by George Jeffreys,
-
and instantly beautiful blue eyes appeared in those eye sockets. Haha,
-
What a wonderful, glorious God. How great is how God? Yeah?
-
How great he is? Yeah? And he hears the cry
-
of suffering people as he did in the Old Testament,
-
as Jesus responded to the needs in the New He's
-
the same God. He hasn't changed, and his heart is
-
moved with compassion and a generation of people who are struggling,
-
of young people struggling with mental health issues, of old
-
people struggling, of single parents, struggling of the knee of
-
the hour, and we need to be aware of that.
-
We need to wake up to that and respond. And
-
the second thing, because I could talk about waking up
-
for ages, because I believe it's really important that we
-
are challenged by what's happening and wake up to what's
-
going on around us. God save us from becoming like
-
that church in Russia. We're discussing about what color shirt
-
to wear when there's a world out there that needs,
-
desperately needs to know Jesus and he's transforming power. But
-
we don't just need to wake up. We need to
-
look up. Because the problem with waking up. When you
-
become aware of the needs, you can go down the tubes,
-
as we say, you can actually give up. You can say, well,
-
what can we do about it? You know the government
-
and can't do anything about it. Whichever crowd are in,
-
So what can we hope to achieve? We can only
-
reach this one or that one. Well, actually, the answer
-
is that having woken up, we then need to look
-
up because we can't do this. We can't solve this.
-
We can't resolve this. Only God can, and so we
-
need to look up. And we're encouraged to do that
-
in both the Old and the New Testament. In PS
-
one and the Psalmist says this, I will lift up
-
my eyes to the hills. Where shall my help come from? Hah?
-
He asked the question, where does my help come from?
-
My help comes from the Lord. Ha ha. That's where
-
our help comes from. Who made heaven and earth. That's
-
where our help comes from. We don't give up, we
-
don't go down the tubes, we don't lay down and die,
-
we don't come under some heavy depression because we have
-
a hope that in heaven there is a God who
-
can move powerfully into any situation and change it and
-
transform it, as he is doing today, as he has
-
always done in the past. When we were encouraged to
-
worship and seeing how great is our God, I was
-
reminded of occasions when ire In and I of experience
-
God's help in hopeless situations. I could keep you for
-
a few hours if you like, telling you stories of
-
where there was no way out, there was no possibility
-
of change, but God stepped in. I mean God even
-
gave a guy a dream one time to come and
-
help us because we're in a mess and we couldn't
-
get out on our own. And God sent somebody via
-
a dream. I mean, he is incredible and nothing is
-
impossible with him. Nothing is impossible, not anything is impossible
-
with him, and so we need to look up. In fact,
-
Jesus told us to look up when these things were
-
happening in Luke twenty one, where he says about the
-
time when wars and rumors of wars and famines and
-
all this stuff was happening. What did Jesus say, go
-
into a flat spin and go into depression and shut
-
your door and hope it's all going to go away.
-
No he didn't. He said, when you see these things,
-
be happy, begin to happen Luke twenty one, twenty eight.
-
Then look up, haha, look up and lift up your heads.
-
For your redemption draws near. Now I know that's talking
-
about the Second Coming, but I want to tell you
-
I believe with all my we need to look up
-
for our redemption draws near, and that may come in
-
the form of a significant revival, a significant move of
-
the Holy Spirit. God changes nations. I don't have forgot
-
any Ugandans here, anybody from Uganda here. Yeah, oh wow, wonderful.
-
Uganda as a nation was stripped of everything in nineteen
-
eighty five. He was in an absolute mess. The infrastructure
-
was broken down. One in four people had been infected
-
with AIDS as a result of idio means hideous. Ten
-
years of dictatorship and then five years of civil war
-
had left the nation absolutely on its knees. And in
-
nineteen eighty five a move of the Holy Spirit started
-
and the nation began to be trans formed. And now
-
there are massive churches all throughout the land. Extraordinary miracles
-
have been happening for the last thirty five years. God
-
has been working and their economy has grown. They've still
-
got a way to go, but it's one of the
-
fastest growing economies in Africa. The AIDS statistics are one
-
of the only countries where it's going down because people
-
are living in monogamous monogamous relationships, and so the statistics
-
are changing because God has broken in to that nation.
-
And God can do that anywhere in any place, at
-
any time. I believe God is going to do it.
-
I believe God is going to come. I believe God
-
is going to move. Take you back to that chapter
-
in Joshua three. You know, he woke up Joshua to
-
what was happening, and then God says to him, look up.
-
In in Joshua three, verse five, God says to Joshua,
-
sanctify yourselves for tomorrow, the Lord will do wonders among you.
-
Get yourself ready because God's coming. Right at the beginning
-
of the service, Dave was rushing here and there and
-
blacking out windows and making sure everything was all all right.
-
But he did just get a few seconds with me,
-
and he said, he said, God said to us, at
-
the end of last year is going to send us
-
a tsunami of souls. Do you believe that? Yeah? Get
-
yourselves ready, Yeah, look up, get ready, because tomorrow, tomorrow,
-
God is going to do wonders among you. It's a
-
new day, it's a new season. We need a new word,
-
We need to do things in a new way. You know.
-
One of the things God says to Joshua in those
-
early verses in Joshua three is this, you have not
-
passed this way before. Yeah, you've not passed this way before.
-
You're going to do things. You're going to be involved
-
in things that, yeah, there it is, well verse four
-
of Joshua three. I knew it was there. You've not
-
passed this way before. God's doing new things in new ways.
-
What I love about that story is that they went
-
they were going to march towards the Jordan and to
-
get into the Promised Land. And God said, you know,
-
you've not passed this way before. It's a new day,
-
new word, new things. And because some of the people
-
would have been around, who remember Moses opening the Red Sea,
-
And I can imagine some of the old fogies like me,
-
you know, been around for years, coming up to Joshua
-
the young man or the younger man and say to him, now, listen, Joshua,
-
we saw Moses do it. This is what you do.
-
You take the staff and you hold it out over
-
the Red Sea and you say, just like Charlton Heston
-
did in the film, you say, you say, stand still
-
and see the salvation of God and it will open.
-
And God says, no, that's not it's a new day,
-
it's a new word. It's a different miracle. So God
-
said Tom Joshua, what I want you to do is
-
get the priest to pick up the ark and walk
-
towards the red Sea. And I can imagine the old
-
fogs saying, won't work. You know, that's not how you
-
do it. That's not how God did it yesterday. That's
-
because God's always doing a new thing, something different, something fresh.
-
That's why we need to be open to God doing
-
something new and fresh and different for us in this day,
-
in this generation. We've not passed this way before. We're
-
going to have to adjust to meet the needs of people.
-
I want to tell you that a lot of these
-
folks are struggling with anxiety and fear. Can't set through
-
forty five minutes of worship and forty five minutes of
-
some old guy out the front spout in his mouth.
-
They can't do it. We're going to reach them. We've
-
got to find is that right, Julia. We've got to
-
find new ways of communicating, of connecting. The Gospel doesn't change,
-
Worship doesn't change in terms of the importance of all
-
of these things. But it's a new season, a new day.
-
God's going to do something new and fresh. We must
-
be people willing to change. I believe we have a really,
-
a really wonderful opportunity to be part of what God
-
is going to do. I'm convinced he's going to move.
-
I love that you've got ready for I love that
-
you didn't stay where you were and said, hey, we
-
can stay here and wait till it happens and then
-
we'll do it. But you actually took a risk and
-
took a step of faith and an action of faith.
-
And here you are preparing yourself because why because you're
-
convinced that what God says is going to come to pass. Yeah.
-
There might be a few saying, oh, you know, we
-
really loved it in the earth. It was so nice
-
and cozy and all of that, and we live with
-
all of that, but we understand the importance of moving
-
forward and believe in God for a fresh new movement
-
of the Holy Spirit. Oh. I could say a lot more,
-
but I don't want to. What I want to do
-
is I want to bring up Isaiah sixty one, verse
-
one to five. It's there on the overheads. Can you
-
flip through to the last one? Yeah, okay, well that
-
was quick, well done. Yeah, these are the words of Jesus,
-
and I believe, you know, you say, what should we do, Well,
-
this is what we should do. This is what God's
-
calling us to. This is why God has moved you here,
-
so that you can fill this place with people. Huh.
-
He's moved you here because He has a heart for
-
those who are struggling and suffering, for those who have
-
fear and anxiety and are struggling to survive. He has
-
a heart for people who are going through all kinds
-
of problems with depression and other issues. For people who
-
are struggling to pay their bills, for people who are
-
struggling in relationships, and people who are struggling with issues
-
of sexuality, for people who are struggling just to get
-
up in the morning. God has anointed us with the
-
message of truth. The spirit of the Lord God is
-
upon me. What for to have great meetings, to have
-
fabulous worship. Well, the secondary issues, and they're the blessings
-
that come to us. But this is the reason for
-
the anointing. The Lord has anointed me to preach good
-
news to the poor, good news to the poor, to
-
who the poor. He's sent me to heal the brokenhearted.
-
We're living in a nation have broken a world of
-
broken hearted people. You can't watch your television news seeing
-
people who have lost fathers and mothers and children without
-
being moved. They're broken hearted people. Jesus come to heal
-
broken hearted people, whether they're Arabs or Jews, or Iranians
-
or white British people. He's come to heal the broken hearted.
-
Has come to proclaim liberty to captives, addicts and people
-
who are captive in slavery of different kinds. Has come
-
to open the prison of those who are bound, and
-
next to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, the
-
day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn.
-
Every one of those statements about the purpose of the
-
Holy Spirit has to do with meeting the needs of people.
-
Heal the brokenhearted, set the captive free, comfort those who mourn,
-
preach the Gospel to the poor. The purpose us of God,
-
filling us with the Holy Spirit, is for people's lives
-
to be radically transformed by the power of the Living God.
-
That's what you're here for. Are you still running me
-
Christian fellowship? Yeah, running me Christian fellowship. God is adding
-
to you, growing you a students at the university. You
-
are there to do a degree and I want you
-
to study really hard. But God's purpose for you is
-
much bigger than that. The spirit of the Lord is
-
upon you because there's a whole generation of students who
-
are lost and broken and wounded and struggling with fear
-
and anxiety. This move of the spirit in Asbury, three
-
months after it happened, they did an evaluation of the
-
effect of this move of the spirit. Before it happened,
-
in any one month, around forty or over forty percent
-
of the students would go for counseling, mainly for anxiety
-
and fear. Over forty percent of the students. Three months
-
after the move of the spirit, they did an evaluation
-
and they found only two percent two percent of the
-
students were going for counseling. Why is that world Because Jesus,
-
Jesus heals the broken hearted, Jesus releases the captive. Jesus
-
comforts those whom on. Jesus releases us from anxiety and
-
fear and depression. Ha, Jesus does it. The Spirit comes
-
upon us and through us, through you girls other students here,
-
and through you in your workplace and in your street
-
where you live. God wants to anoint you to bring
-
this message of good news that Jesus makes people hole
-
and sets people free, and I prophesy over you. If
-
you'll respond, wake up, look up, get up, Rise up,
-
get active. Not just come to meetings on Sunday to
-
discuss whether you like this song or that song, or
-
what vest you should wear, or whether you like this
-
one leading worship or that one leading worship, or whether
-
the preacher goes on too long or not. Most weeks
-
we do, but actually get serious, get serious about seeing
-
this anointing released into a world that is struggling and broken.
-
I believe God will fulfill every prophetic purpose that He
-
has for you Running Meat Christian Fellowship. I look around
-
and I see all the faces. I see some really
-
black faces, dark skin. I see some brown skin. I
-
see some lighter skin. I even see some Chinesey skin somewhere.
-
And I see God bringing the nations to Running Meat
-
Christian Fellowship. Why, because through you He wants to touch
-
the world. I see many people from different nations watching
-
today through the through the camera. Yeah, what do you
-
call it? Come? Yeah, that's right, the live stream. Yeah.
-
And I see God wanted to touch and bless and
-
reach the world through this ministry. Father in the name
-
of Jesus, call on your name today. I pray for
-
a new, fresh, dynamic, increasing anointing of your wonderful Holy Spirit.
-
I pray you will come with new dynamic sense of
-
your presence upon your people, to release through them your
-
purpose in this day. Help us to wake up and
-
see the need all around us, see the people who
-
are struggling all around us. Pray that we will look
-
up and understand that in our own strength, out of
-
our own resources, we can't do this but to rise
-
up under the anointing of the Holy Spirit and in
-
your name, to lay hands on the sick and see
-
them recover in your name, to speak deliverance and freedom
-
to the captives, in your name, to bring your word,
-
to bring release to fear and anxiety and depression, and
-
to see your glory released in our day, in our generation,
-
in our nation, in the nations represented in this gathering,
-
and across the live stream. In the name of Jesus.
-
In the name of Jesus, please come to us, Lord,
-
we really do want to wake up and not be
-
irrelevant in our day and generation. Pray for the leadership
-
of this church. Pray for every person in this gathering.
-
Pray for the students in this place, Lord, that together
-
we might rise up to fulfill your purpose for us
-
and through us, in this day, in this generation, in
-
Jesus' name. Amen. Amen. Books at the back if you want,
-
and if you would like prayer because you're struggling with
-
anxiety or fear
