  1. Heavenly Father, once again, thank you so much for my

  2. brother Simon. He's a man of God. Thank you for

  3. what you have placed already in his heart to share

  4. with us. Made the Holy Spirit will be poured upon him,

  5. a Lord, that he will deliver exactly the heart of

  6. yours through him to us, Father, and help us to

  7. be the recipients of that word and the power that

  8. comes with that word. In the name of Jesus, we

  9. pray Amen, Thank you.

  10. Come on.

  11. So I think this is the last in the series

  12. of the new start, or it was not. Anyway, January's gone.

  13. Yes.

  14. So, as I was preparing this message, I thought, you've

  15. heard a lot of new starts and new things. The

  16. Lord led me in a slightly different way. And the

  17. title of this message is this is the Way walk

  18. in it. Also, I was taken from the book of Isaiah.

  19. I'll see you we're familiar with that. So the way

  20. the Lord's been leading me is it's a new year.

  21. We all know that we have a new year every

  22. twelve months, so that there's no surprises there. But go

  23. on to talk this morning about relationship, you know, how

  24. we communicate with him, or maybe don't communicate with him.

  25. We've all got our smartphones, whether you're an Apple fan

  26. or an Android fan. But you know you're rather on Instagram,

  27. or you not on Instagram, you'rerather on Snapchat, you're not

  28. on Snapchat. But we communicate quite regularly with everyone their way.

  29. I don't know if you hear people's phones pinging and

  30. binging wherever you're going, but you know, we're very good

  31. at communicating together with each other.

  32. But the Lord wants to talk about how.

  33. We communicate with him because end of the day, it's a

  34. new start, it's a new day, all that sort of stuff.

  35. We need to hear what he's saying. It's like, how

  36. easy would it be if whatever we needed to know,

  37. we know we knew the answer, if he knew what

  38. God was saying to us at that point in time,

  39. if he knew he said to us, this is the

  40. way walking it. Sometimes it's easy when it's just something simple.

  41. There's something that's like whoa and went into a slang there.

  42. But well, you know, if if it's something that's like

  43. out there and you want an answer and you need

  44. could give some answer in twenty four hours, and it's like, oh,

  45. I don't know what to do that's that puts different

  46. perspective on hearing what God is saying to doesn't it.

  47. You know, there's always challenges and we need an answer

  48. to a question. What to do, where to go? Why

  49. am I here? Why is this happening to me? There's

  50. a lot of questions that we have in our lives

  51. at some point in time. Now there's those people who

  52. are my age and older who might go to the

  53. help sex section, help section of the bookshop and through

  54. a book about how to this and how to that.

  55. And there's some people who are slightly younger than me.

  56. I might just look on their phone and surf and

  57. online books or to see what we're going to do,

  58. or look through something on Google to find out what

  59. the answer is. Let me give you a new flash.

  60. Google is not the answer. The bookshop is not the answer.

  61. Hearing for God from God for yourself is the answer.

  62. Right now, this is quite fundamental stuff. But I said

  63. to the lady today, why am I doing this? It's like, well,

  64. because I want you to share this today. There's a

  65. purpose behind it, Okay, It's about reinforcing what we know

  66. so that we know what to do when we need

  67. to know what to do. You can't just pick up

  68. your mobile device and ring him up and say hey,

  69. I've got a question, you know, and he's going to

  70. be it's not that ringing your dad or your mum

  71. and they'll give you some advice and you put a

  72. fat okay, or can I have some money, or you know,

  73. I'm coming. I'm coming this weekend. I want this food. Yeah,

  74. it's not that.

  75. Late with God.

  76. In God, we need to have a regular conversation all

  77. the time. To be successful in life. We need to

  78. make the right decisions at the right time every time.

  79. HM.

  80. So today he's gonna go to some scriptures and see

  81. what the holy spirits are. I've got many scriptures, John,

  82. but we'll see what the Lord does. So for look

  83. at Extras three I meaning for the New King Jai's version,

  84. verses one to five. This is talking about Moses. Now,

  85. Moses was tending the flock of Jethrow, his father in law,

  86. the priest of Midium, and he led the flock to

  87. the back of the desert that's obviously way out on

  88. the back in the middle of nowhere, and he came

  89. to horror the mountain of God, and the Angel of

  90. the Lord appeared to him like a flame of fire

  91. from the midst of a bush. So we looked and

  92. behold the bush was burning with fire, but the bush

  93. was not consumed. Then Moses said, I will now turn

  94. aside and see this great sight. Why the bush does

  95. not burn. So when the Lord saw that, he turned

  96. aside to look. God called to him from the midst

  97. of the bush and said Moses, Moses, and he said,

  98. here I am. Then he said, do not draw near.

  99. Do not draw near this place. Take your sanders off

  100. your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.

  101. So this is how God communicated with Moses.

  102. Right.

  103. I was in Moses an inquisitive guy because decided to

  104. light a bush up and he wasn't burning. And Moses said, oh,

  105. I'll go and look at this. I haven't seen it before.

  106. So God got his attention, and then God spoke to

  107. him through a bush. Very often God is trying to

  108. get our attention. Newsflash. Is not going to go and

  109. light up a bush for you down egg High Street

  110. or whatever. But he does want to get our attention.

  111. You know, God treats us all as individuals. He doesn't

  112. have a pattern. If you're five foot six, you're from Bradford,

  113. I'm going to speak to you like this. He doesn't

  114. do that. He treats us all as individuals. I once

  115. asked him, you know, why do you speak to different

  116. people differently? He said, because they're all different people. And

  117. I choose to speak to my children how I choose

  118. to speak to them differently. Everyone is an individual. Everyone

  119. is precious in God's sight. Here today, you need to

  120. hear that you are precious in God's side, no matter

  121. where you came from, where you're going, You're precious in

  122. God's side, and God wants to speak to you. God

  123. wants to communicate with you. Okay.

  124. This is known in the.

  125. Scriptures one Samuel three. Now, the boy Samuel ministered to

  126. the Lord before Eli, and the word of the Lord

  127. was rare in those days. There was no widespread revelation.

  128. And it came to pass at that time when Eli

  129. was lying down in his place, and when his eyes

  130. had begun to grow so dim that I could not see,

  131. and before the lamp, God went out in the tabernacle

  132. of the Lord where the ark was, and while Samue

  133. was lying down, the Lord called to Samuel, and he answered,

  134. here I am. So he ran to Eli and said,

  135. here I am. You called me, and he said, I

  136. did not call you. Lie down, and he went and

  137. lay down. Then the Lord called again Samuel. So Samuel

  138. rose and went to Eli and said, here I am,

  139. for you called me. And he answered, I did not

  140. call your son.

  141. Lie down. Now Samuel did not yet.

  142. Know the Lord, nor was the word of the Lord

  143. yet revealed to him. And the Lord called again to

  144. Samuel the third time. So he arose and went to

  145. Eli and said, here I am, for you did call me.

  146. Then Eli perceived that the Lord had called the boy.

  147. Therefore Eli said, Samuel, go lie down, and it shall

  148. be if he calls you that he must say, speak Lord,

  149. for your servant hears. So Samuel went and laid down

  150. in his place. Now the Lord came and stood and

  151. called other other times, like other times Samuel Samuel, and

  152. Samuel answered, speak for your servant hears. Different perspective. Samue's

  153. a small boy. If remember Hannah his mother. I think

  154. it's Elkin and his father. She went up to the

  155. house of the Lord. She went to the boy, she prayed.

  156. He gave her Samuel. I think she had another three

  157. boys and three girls something like that.

  158. For a memory.

  159. Either way, she gave that boy to the Lord, and

  160. he served the Lord. Isn't interesting that God does there

  161. speak in his voice Samuel, Samuel right. And God is

  162. speaking our voice, our name through his voice every day. Yeah,

  163. and he wants us to connect with him every day. Yeah.

  164. Let's look at Joshua. After death of Moses, the servant

  165. of the Lord, it came to pass that the Lord

  166. spoke to Joshua, the son of None, Moses' assistant or

  167. minister's of the Word, saying, Moses, my servant is dead.

  168. Now.

  169. Therefore, arise, go over the Jordan, you and all this

  170. people to land which I'm giving them, the children of Israel,

  171. even the place that the soul of your foot will

  172. try upon. I have given you, as I said to Moses,

  173. from the Willness and this Lebanon, as far as the

  174. Great River, the great River Euphrates, on all the land

  175. of the Hittites, and the great Sea towards the going

  176. down of the Sun shall be your territory. No man

  177. shall be able to stand before you all the days

  178. of your life. As I was with Moses, so.

  179. Will I be with you. I will not leave you,

  180. nor forsake you. Be strong and of good courage.

  181. For to you, For to this people you shall divide

  182. and inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers

  183. to give them. Only be strong and very courageous, that

  184. you may observe to do according to all the law

  185. which Moses, my servant commanded. You do not turn from

  186. it to the right hand or to the left, that

  187. you may prosper wherever you go. This book of the

  188. Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall

  189. meditate in it day and night, that you may observe

  190. to do account to all that is written in it.

  191. For then you shall make your way prosperous and successful.

  192. Have I not commanded you be strong and have got courage.

  193. Do not be afraid nor be dismayed, for the Lord,

  194. your God is with you wherever you go. That's Joshua

  195. one one through nine. Another person, another situation. So Joshua

  196. used to work for Moses, and you had to get

  197. what sirk a four million Jews across to Jordan, take

  198. the promised land, divvy all up and move on. Imagine

  199. managing four million people. That was a job that God

  200. spoke to him. He gave him specific direction, and as

  201. God spoke to him. God will speak to us and

  202. give us specific direction. God's no respector of persons. Yeah,

  203. if you need an answer to a question, don't go

  204. to Google unless it's something pretty simple. You know, speak

  205. to God and God will speak to you. God wants

  206. to have a one to one regular communication with everybody

  207. in this room and listening online.

  208. Yeah.

  209. He wants us to know that, to recognize that, and

  210. to operate that way.

  211. Yeah.

  212. He doesn't want us to come to him when we've

  213. got a problem, or when we've only got a problem.

  214. Should I say, you don't ring your friend up when

  215. you got a problem to here. I was on the

  216. on the train I come out of London. I was

  217. in the meeting or on a meeting in London. I

  218. was this young lad sitting opposite me with his phone

  219. and he was messaging his measures and calling all his

  220. friends on his phone.

  221. Love you bye bye, love you bye bye. What are

  222. you doing tonight?

  223. Love ye bye bye? What are you doing tonight? I

  224. was thinking, Okay, there are blokes you're speaking to, you know,

  225. and they rang up his his his girlfriend or can conson?

  226. So come around? Can we do this? Can we do that?

  227. His planigs his social life on the throne from from

  228. water to loop back back out.

  229. He was connecting.

  230. Yeah, it was I find it amusing because I wouldn't

  231. do that sort of thing personally. But you know, I'm

  232. a different generation. But I said that to say this.

  233. He was communicating from the time he got on the train,

  234. when he finished work. He didn't put his phone down

  235. to we go off the train. He was playing with

  236. his phone, measuring somebody, talking to somebody. God wants us

  237. to communicate with him throughout the day. Yeah, from the

  238. time we get out of bed or God resurrects you

  239. out of bed, depending what sort of person you are,

  240. if you're a morning person or a night person. He

  241. wants us to having that connection with him. He wants

  242. to speak to us. He wants to talk to us

  243. right now. Somebody might know that, but God wants to

  244. remind you. He wants you to go deeper. Relationship doesn't

  245. stop after five minutes. If you've known somedy for five

  246. minutes and you've known something for five years, it's a

  247. bit deep for you. Lot on the front road knows

  248. something for fifty years. There's a different relationship, yeh, because

  249. you know more about that individual. You know more about

  250. that person. It's going to be a bit creepy for

  251. some of us, but sometimes our parents know more about

  252. us than we know about ourselves.

  253. You're looking tired. No, no, yes you are.

  254. Why do they know that because they had us in

  255. our in their arms and then they says this big

  256. and this big and this bid and you're always their child,

  257. doesn't matter how old you are, yes, mum, no, mom,

  258. you know when you're when you're that age or that age.

  259. I've seen big blokes, yes, okay, yes, mum, and mum's

  260. this big in their seventies and it's yes, yes, m'am.

  261. There's a relationship there, and the Lord wants a better

  262. relationship than that with us.

  263. Okay hmm.

  264. So there's a key in Joshua Joshua one, verse eight.

  265. This book of the Lord shall not depart from your mouth.

  266. You shall meditate in it day and night. I think

  267. the word meditate means to mutter or to repeat, that

  268. you may observe and do all that is written in it,

  269. that you may make your way prosperus and they have

  270. good success when we give attention to the word of God,

  271. when we spend time in the word of God, that's

  272. a vehicle that God used to speak to us. More

  273. often than not, God will speak to us to his word. Yeah,

  274. thank you, shir. God will speak to us to his word.

  275. He agrees with me. If you know God, you'll learn

  276. his voice. But he speaks to us through the word.

  277. He also speaks to us when you're walking down the street,

  278. but it might be through the word as well. But

  279. the key here in this scripture is if we spend

  280. time in the word of God, we'll get to know

  281. God better. So when the time comes to have a

  282. conversation about something which is a bit sticky difficult, we'll

  283. know his voice. When Sunday rings you up, you recognize

  284. their voice because He's used to hearing their voice. And

  285. God wants to be in that place with us. So

  286. this is fundamental stuff we talk about now. And then

  287. you go, oh, no about that time. I've got my

  288. tic this day, and you know I've got my tic

  289. this dear, And that's good. But we need to do

  290. more and tick a box. We need to apply that

  291. principle so we know so when again into a situation

  292. we need an answer, We've got an answer.

  293. Hm.

  294. I know a guy who's we're still a lived in

  295. his nineties. Now he was he remembered the sort of

  296. the end of the Welsh Revival, good old Welsh name.

  297. I'm not.

  298. Mentioned on the film on this Preacher, but I remember saying,

  299. have I been saying to me? When people come to

  300. come working for prayer? I don't want to know where

  301. their situation. I don't know what I don't want to

  302. know what their problem. I want to come to me.

  303. I'll pray, and I'll pray what God gives me to pray.

  304. I don't want my perception to be influenced by what

  305. I know. I want to hear what God is saying

  306. to me. That's why it's so important to know God's

  307. voice and not be moved by other voices. Because we

  308. have preconceived ideas. If I say the word dog, I

  309. ask you on the front row, because you're nearest me,

  310. what dog did you see? It wouldn't be the same

  311. dog all the way down that row. It'll be a

  312. different dog. It might be a poodle, it might be

  313. a spaniel. It might be a labrador, it might one

  314. of those little handbag dogs. You know, you will all

  315. see something different because we're all individuals. So when God

  316. speak to us. We need to have make sure we

  317. don't have any preconceived ideas or perspectives.

  318. We need to get it from the sauce.

  319. Yeah, I know, I get it from the source's getting

  320. to know the word, because the word is the sauce Jesus,

  321. the living Word.

  322. The word was with God. The word was God. Yeah.

  323. Or to put it another way, Proverbs from twenty to

  324. twenty two. My son, give attention to my words. Incline

  325. the ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart

  326. from your eyes, keeping in the midst of your heart,

  327. for they are life to those who find them health.

  328. The translations medicine to all their flesh. I don't know

  329. the familiar scripture, but I'm going to put out there

  330. today is to give attention to his word.

  331. All right.

  332. God wants you to know where you're going, why something's happening,

  333. without asking somebody else. It's okay to ask directions for

  334. the person you ask directions, need to know where you're going.

  335. Not go down the road there, but don't turn right.

  336. That's the wrong way. You know, that's not the directions

  337. you want to hear. He wants you to know for yourself.

  338. It's okay to speak Sunday who's maybe older or more mature, whatever,

  339. and get some advice when it comes to your life,

  340. your plan, your purpose, your direction. You need to know

  341. all right. And any way you know is if you

  342. know the voice of God.

  343. All right.

  344. So sound forty six and verse ten, a very very

  345. familiar scripture, be still and know that I am God.

  346. I will be exalted to among the nations. I will

  347. be exalted in the earth. Another key here I wanted

  348. to to mention today, be still, I know that I

  349. am God.

  350. Be still.

  351. In other words, don't talk when we come to God.

  352. Everyone wants to talk talk talk.

  353. Talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk.

  354. Talk that God says, be still and know that I

  355. am God. Because God wants to talk to you. And

  356. if you're yapping, yeah, he can't talk. Now it's I mean,

  357. it doesn't mean it's okay not to talk to God.

  358. But there are times and places to talk to God.

  359. So when when you want God to speak to you,

  360. you need to lay down your preconcert, idea, ideas, lay

  361. down the day, lay down all this stuff because we

  362. all have stuff. If I wanted to put their hand

  363. up today, have you got any stuff going on? You

  364. know you're going to go, no, everything's cool, man. They're

  365. going to go, yeah, I've got stuff going on, because

  366. they one has stuff going on.

  367. Otherwise you're dead.

  368. So we'll go on to say this morning wards, when

  369. you come to me, listen rather than talk. When you

  370. go to the library. If people still go to the

  371. library nowadays, but you know there's there's use a big

  372. sign up the rule of silence must be observed in

  373. this library, or something like quiet to please with an

  374. exclamation mark. They won't talk like this in the library

  375. because there's a pattern there.

  376. You don't.

  377. You don't have a chat in a library because people

  378. try to do some work or they try to read

  379. the book. And so there's times when we can be

  380. loud with God and there's times we need to be

  381. quiet with God. But we need to understand those timings.

  382. So it could be that you're coming to God and

  383. you're chashing and then you disappear and he's going, hey,

  384. I want to say something to you. Sometimes God will

  385. say to me I want to have a conversation about something.

  386. Need to sit down have a chat. I say okay, sure.

  387. Then we sit down, have a chat and he speaks

  388. and I go okay, and then I'll write it down

  389. on my phone or something. But it's important I need

  390. to remember it. But God deals with all of us

  391. in a different way. And there's somebody who escapes to

  392. God to the nod their head this way, say they

  393. head that way. I know people here hear from God

  394. months and say yours and the advants.

  395. God talks us differently.

  396. I guess when you tundstand that, you need to find

  397. the pattern how God talks to you as an individual.

  398. Remember that pattern so when God is speaks about something important,

  399. you recognize it's God, not the cheese you had to

  400. night before. Yeah, Or you're not running through your mind

  401. some plan which have conceived yourself and trying to fit

  402. it to God's plan for your life, because sometimes God's

  403. timing is not our timing. You're thinking, come on, God,

  404. now now, and he's going nah, And then they now

  405. can be thinking is it really now?

  406. Yeah?

  407. Okay, that's the way he does things. He has a

  408. certain pattern. People say, it's never early, is never laid

  409. his own time. He has his own time frame and

  410. God's time. Prayer is not necessari our time frame. Or

  411. maybe you're so cool that it always is your time frame.

  412. Who knows. H We need to be active listeners.

  413. Get your tablet, get your smartphone, be ready to listen.

  414. And if you're going somewhere and you can have and

  415. you want to write something down or communicate something, You're

  416. ready to go, aren't you. There's a guy who to

  417. do some work for me years ago, and he was

  418. in church. I think he ended up. He was going

  419. to preach. So if I got his bible, if I

  420. got his glasses, he had to borrow a bible. You

  421. had to borrow some glasses so he could do the preach. Now,

  422. I said, I'd like to say this. He wasn't ready.

  423. He had the word. I thought, Oh, I left my

  424. glasses at home. I can I borrow your glasses? Something

  425. to fairy glasses? Oh I left my Bible home. Ah,

  426. I never do that. We need to be ready to

  427. listen to God. H. So some questions people ask, how

  428. don't know when God's speaking to me? Was it the cheese?

  429. Generally speaking? Does it align with the word of God?

  430. Go out from here and jump off the bridge does

  431. not align with the word of God. Have you got

  432. some peace in your heart about what God's saying to you?

  433. Does it align. We've got current plan for your life.

  434. You've just got a new job. He just bought a

  435. new house. He says, A you know, I need to

  436. move to other side of the world, and you better

  437. have a work from God before you do that. Yeah,

  438. that does happen to somebody or some people, but you

  439. need to know. So don't do something for lak and

  440. just go out there on nothing. Make sure we build

  441. our life on the word of God and hearing what

  442. God says to make sure it lines with his word. Yeah,

  443. this is all simple stuff. It's all foundational stuff, but

  444. it's something we do every day.

  445. We need to know what to do God. We have

  446. choices to make. It's not like God.

  447. Sh'll have a I can't remember now, I'm not a

  448. coffee drink of it. Can I have a cafe latter,

  449. can have a double expresso, can have a America Why,

  450. He'll probably say, it doesn't matter. Choose what you like. Yeah,

  451. it doesn't really matter. You can have a conversation about it.

  452. What would I fancy today? Well, I think you fancy that? Okay,

  453. Oh I'm gonna like that cake.

  454. Oh that cake.

  455. No, you don't like that, you're like that? You can

  456. have that conversations with God. He likes to be engaged,

  457. but you can do that. So when you come to

  458. the situation, is this the right girl for me? Is

  459. this the right bloke for me?

  460. Yeah?

  461. Or I've got to get my first job is as

  462. to where i should be going? Or what want we

  463. do about my kid? My kid's having some problems or

  464. the kid says I'm have some problems with my parents.

  465. What I'm going to do about it? I'm going to

  466. manage it. God, look give you the answer because you've

  467. learned to have a conversation. Yeah, So I think we'll

  468. leave it there. So something to connect our faith with

  469. this morning, if you want to refresh or if you

  470. want to reset with God in you're here in their time,

  471. you stand up, I'll pray. If you don't need a reset,

  472. we don't stand up. It's something that you can connect

  473. your faith to. There's someone's need to have a reset

  474. or a restart. If you want a computer. You know

  475. you've restart computer, don't you it's not working, Restart it,

  476. reboot it. If you want to have a restart with

  477. God so that you know you need to get a

  478. better amplification about hearing, or maybe I even some people

  479. don't even listen to God, so I don't even know

  480. that they can talk to God. If you want to

  481. start that journey, we'll pray and then we'll wrap this.

  482. We'll go back over to that's all right, oh Father.

  483. I pray for the people who won't have a reset,

  484. won't have a refresh load. In Jesus name those who

  485. are standing or those who are not standing that I

  486. pray for those people that you would reset them. They

  487. give them a hearing here so they know what the

  488. Holy Spirit is saying to them.

  489. This is the way, walk in.

  490. It, so they know that, they know that, they know that,

  491. they know that, they know that they know what you're

  492. saying and where you're going.

  493. In Jesus' name, M
