-
Good morning. So the title of today's preach is healing
-
through the written and the living Word. Let's pray how
-
the Spirit will welcome you this morning. Thank you that
-
you hear that. Thank for lood. You are a spirit
-
John four twenty four. God is a spirit. And for
-
those people in the room, those people who are listening online,
-
those people to listen later. Because God is a spirit.
-
What he does today here you can experience where you are.
-
There's no boundary in the spirit. So Lord, let's yeah,
-
let's get this done. Amen. So there's one of those
-
preachers where I've got a lot of scriptures but not
-
a lot of words. Sometimes God gives you some words
-
or something to give you those scriptures and he feels
-
the words in when you're speaking, which is really fun sometimes.
-
But today we're going to look at the word of
-
God regarding healing, and the Lord wants to speak to
-
us through the word, and it give us an opportunity
-
to respond to the word. So we'll start a bit
-
of a foundation that we're moving to the scriptures. So
-
when Jesus died on the cross, he took our sins
-
in his own body. And when we repent and are
-
converted our sins are washed away or blotted out. First
-
scripture John is Acts three, verse nineteen. There's Peter speaking
-
to the crowd. He said, repent therefore and be converted,
-
that your sins may be blotted out, so that times
-
of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.
-
The word repent here is the word metanoia in the Greek,
-
which means to turn around or go from one direction
-
to the direction, to change one's mind. And when we
-
are born again, that's what happens. We change our mind,
-
we go from one direction to the direction, and God
-
restores our souls. That's wrong thing to say. God restores
-
our spirit and we come into fellowship with His spirit.
-
But many people stop with receiving God in their spirit.
-
They don't stretch to what God wants, which is more
-
than that. God is able above to do more that
-
we can ask or think. Yeah, so what wants to
-
get over today is salvation? Is not the end is
-
more right? And the more we want to talk about
-
this morning, it is healing. So you are saved, you
-
are healed. Yeah, it's the same thing. So many people
-
come to church, go a fellowship wherever your call, where
-
you go and they put a ceiling on what God
-
can do, and we need to take the limits of God. Okay,
-
we need to take the limits of God. So Jesus
-
also paid for our healing. So we're going to walk
-
through the Word, and we're going to apply the Word
-
to our circumstances. I got a sense when I was
-
praying about this, this is not a one off occurrence.
-
There's the start of a change of a mindset and
-
the change of how He wants to engage with us
-
here in this place. In other words, he wants us
-
to expect healing. He wants to expect people's lives to
-
be changed when they come here, right, And it won't
-
be the work of a man. It'll be the work
-
of the Holy Spirit. So go on to stretch our
-
thinking today, right, want to stretch our thinking. So when
-
we're sharing Jesus, or when we're here worshiping Jesus, we
-
recognize there's no limit with God. So very familiar scripture
-
as I have fifty three four through five. Surely he
-
hath borne our griefs and carried our sorrows. Yet we
-
esteemed him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he
-
was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities.
-
The chastisement of our peace was upon him, and by
-
his stripes we are healed. By his stripes, we are healed.
-
You know, when Jesus went to the cross, he was
-
already dying. His back would have been cut open with
-
the lashes. His flesh was hanging off the back of
-
his body. When we see Jesus on the cross, when
-
you look at the back of the cross, because that's
-
where the wounds were, that's where the blood was running
-
down his back and making the pool on the floor.
-
And it's by his stripes that we are healed. Matthew
-
eight sixteen and seventeen says when evening had come, that
-
was at the end of the sabbath. In this instance,
-
they brought to him many who were demon possessed, and
-
he cast them out. He cast out the spirits with
-
his word, and healed all who were sick. That it
-
might be a Filldris who spoke can buy is as
-
the prophet, or as are the prophet saying himself took
-
our infirmities and bore our sicknesses. Jesus took it all
-
for us on the cross. That means you don't have
-
to live with it. He took infirmity, he took sickness.
-
One Peter two twenty four says, who himself bore our
-
sins in his own body on the tree, that we,
-
having died to sins, might live for righteousness. By whose
-
stripes you were healed, Asiah, ohk Covenant. By his stripes,
-
we are healed. One Peter two twenty four, New Covenant.
-
By his stripes, you are healed. That's a spiritual fact truth.
-
But we need to appropriate our healing through the written
-
word and the living word. In other words, God is
-
not trying to keep healing from us, but we need
-
to follow his pattern and his plan to receive it.
-
Psalm ninety one and verse sixteen says, with long life,
-
I will satisfy him and show him my salvation. The
-
word salvation here, I'm not going to go with the
-
Greek right now. I don't want to butcher that word.
-
His deliverance, prosperity, and victory, health welfare. God wants to
-
satisfied with long life health welfare. He wants to have
-
a mindset of recognizing that we can walk in divine
-
health in our lives. Yes, we're going to pray for
-
people to for healing here today. It's a ingreen service,
-
was it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, So we're going to pray
-
for people who want to be prayed for. But more
-
than that, going to change our thinking to recognize that
-
we can walk in divine health. We don't have to
-
be sick, all right to me, we denied the circumstances,
-
but we know the truth. Yeah. A few weeks ago,
-
I hurt my leg. Hurt a very sort of strange
-
noise when I moved my leg, which wasn't very comfortable anyway,
-
I think as a miner. And Wednesday or Thursday, we
-
came here on this Sunday, I was walking around, not
-
coming to publice it. And I still a small voice
-
says I'm hearing your leg. Don't walk around the corridor,
-
staying here, And obviously, ah hear heal my leg. I
-
healed the muscle in my leg. I went see the
-
we went for some treatment. At time. The minus tream
-
was nothing as significant it would have been I had
-
got heal my leg. I say that as a example.
-
You know, I wasn't I wasn't necessary. I was believing
-
with the word of God by his stripes. I'm healed,
-
and I released my faith to believe I was healed
-
and God healed me, and that there's a followed his pattern. Yeah,
-
Sam I undred and seven, verse twenty said he sent
-
his word and healed them. He sends his word. One
-
job in the beginning was the word. The word was God.
-
The word was with God. God did nothing without the word. Jesus,
-
the written word and living word. Jesus brought healing to
-
the people. The written word brings healing. Yeah, Jesus is
-
here now, I know because I brought in with me.
-
He lives with me. But God's word does not return
-
to him void, and it will accomplish that actually pleases
-
and prospering the thing whereunto he sends it. So we
-
need the word in our lives to see some healing.
-
You got pray it for healing, didn't you for what
-
was it? Malaria? Yeah? You didn't go up there and
-
just go maybe, did you? Yeah? What did you do?
-
I just ask God? Here here my body, take away
-
the pain, take away the suffering. Just do what you
-
can do.
-
Don't sit down. Sorry? How long ago? Was that? Years ago?
-
And you're still healed? Yes? Absolutely, you sit down. God's
-
healing lasts. It's not like some products. Slap this and
-
you'll be okay. Oh sorry, Apply this and you'll be okay.
-
God's healing lasts. I wasn't planning to do that. I'm
-
not sure what I'm planning to, but they go. But
-
God's healing lasts. That was about malaria when Dave was
-
working in Papi in Guinea. So the thirty five years later,
-
he's still healed. That. When God does something, it's permanent. Yeah,
-
but Dave believed and Dave received. And what God did
-
for Dave, you can do for you, and he can
-
do for me. Because he's no respect of persons. I
-
haven't seen super Christian running around here anywhere. You know.
-
We're all people, are we? You know? So they have
-
believed and they have received the weather God recalls that
-
Jesus healed them. Adverse, that recause that Jesus made them whole. Yeah, Matthew,
-
fifteen thirty. Then great Multitus came to him, having with
-
them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others, and
-
they laid them down at Jesus' feet and he healed them.
-
So the same power that's in Jesus is in you
-
and me. The same power that's in Jesus is in
-
you and it's in me. That means that if you
-
apply your faith, you can believe. He looke for forte
-
when the sun was setting. All those who had any
-
that were sick with various diseases brought them to him,
-
and he'd lay them. He laid his hands on every
-
one of them and healed them Mark three thirty four.
-
And he said to her daughter, your faith has made
-
you well. Go in peace and be healed of your affliction.
-
He has made you well. He is the Greek word souso,
-
which means to do well or be made whole. Jesus
-
wants to make as whole mind, body, soul, spirit. Yeah,
-
he wants to make us whole, all right, but we
-
need to recognize that, we need to believe that, we
-
need to receive that. Okay, So the lady with issue
-
of blood, which is the scripture this is referring to,
-
was made whole. So if you've got a need this
-
morning where you're online, you're listening later in the room,
-
God can make your whole, but you need to meet
-
his conditions. You need to believe, and you need to receive. Yeah.
-
I remember a story. I heard a story in account
-
of a guy who was praying for some people in
-
a line and he got to this one guy and
-
he said, okay, what do you want to pray for
-
you for? And the guy just listed out his problems,
-
and then the preacher bout said yes, but God says,
-
by his stripes you're healed. And the guy says yes,
-
but he goes no, God's work says And this conversation
-
went on about three or four times, and then three
-
said you need to listen to me, and they started
-
poking the guy in the chest, and I said, the
-
word of God says, by his stripes, you're healed if
-
you agree with me, and you will agree with the
-
word of God, and don't talk about your circumstances. You're
-
going to get healed. What you want to do. So
-
the guy was quiet, and then the penny dropped and
-
he said, yes, by the God says, by his strikes,
-
I am healed. Sometimes you look at the bigness of
-
our circumstances rather than the bigness of our God. Okay,
-
doesn't mean we deny the but the word of God
-
says it. When the guy agreed that the guy prayed
-
of him, and the guy was healed. It's just an
-
example of how our mind can try and override what
-
the word of God says. Okay, Mark ten fifty one
-
to fifty two. So Jesus answered and said to him,
-
what do you want me to do? The blind man
-
said to him rabone, that I may receive my sight.
-
And Jesus said to him, go your way. Your faith
-
has made you well. And immediately he received his sight.
-
That made you well is the word. So who was
-
made whole? So that was blind Bartimeus, who was no
-
longer blind. Acts ten thirty eight, a very familiar scripture.
-
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the holy ghost,
-
our holy spirit, and with power, who went about doing
-
good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil,
-
for God was with him. The word for healing here
-
is the Greek word hey oh my, which means to heal,
-
to make whole. So what the Lord's trying to impress
-
on us is he wants to heal us, and he
-
wants to make us whole. All right. He wants us
-
to change our perspective about what we think we have
-
a conversation about anything, and we have a viewpoint. We
-
have a standpoint, whether it's politics, the environment, football, we
-
have a view. But God wants to see from his perspective.
-
All right, when we're born again from one from the
-
Kingdom of Dart since the Kingdom of Light, our spirit changes.
-
We've got to work through stuff in our minds. Yeah,
-
our perspective, our worldview that we've built up over time.
-
God wants to recognize that, by Jesus stripes, we are healed,
-
made whole mind, body, soul, spirit. He wants us to
-
get into that place of understanding whether we're really bright,
-
I've got a really high IQ, or where we don't
-
know what our IQ is. It doesn't matter, It doesn't matter.
-
Matthew eight two to three, and behold, a leper came
-
and worshiped him, saying, Lord, if you're willing, you can
-
make me clean. Then Jesus put forth his hand and
-
touched him, saying, I am willing be cleansed. Immediately his
-
leprosy was cleansed. Interesting to note leprosy can be contagious.
-
Jesus didn't know whether it was contagious or not, but
-
he acted in faith and believed noticed that person was
-
made whole Mark nine thirty five. And Jesus went about
-
all the citizen villagers, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the
-
Kingdom of God, and healing every sickness and every disease
-
among the people. Every sickness, every disease, Nothing is too
-
difficult for God. Behold, I am the Lord that God
-
above flesh. Is there anything too heart for me? As
-
Jeremiah thirty two, Verse twenty seven, Nothing is too heart
-
for God. So we have to learn not to have
-
our list of what we think is too hard for God.
-
Should just burn that list, Mark sixteen fifteen to eighteen.
-
Jesus speaking, go into all the world and preach the
-
Gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized
-
will be saved, But he who does not believe will
-
be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe
-
in my name. They will cast out demons, they will
-
speak with new tongues. They will take up serpents. If
-
they drink any deadly, anything deadly, he will by no
-
means hurt them. They will lay hands on the sick,
-
and they will recover work caught. To lay hands on
-
the sick and believe they will recover. You can't do
-
that unless you believe that God's going to be able
-
to heal it. D can heal you. Yeah, You've got
-
to come from a position of knowing. Can't be theoretical, Yeah,
-
can't be theoretical. You've got to know that. You know that,
-
you know that, you know that, you know that, you
-
know if you know what I mean. You've got to know.
-
You get to know by reading the word of God.
-
You get to know by applying the word of God
-
and seeing the results. So when you do play with
-
somebody in the street, or you pay somebody here or
-
somebody at work, you release your faith and believe. Change
-
five fourteen to fifteen says, is any sick, you let
-
him call for the others of the church and let
-
them pray over him, anointing him with all in the
-
name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will
-
save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up.
-
If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Now,
-
it is the prayer of faith which saves the sick.
-
It's not the prayer of indecision. It's the prayer of faith.
-
Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of
-
God Hebrews eleven one, Hebrews eleven six. Without faith, it's
-
impossible to please God. So we need faith, right, it's
-
the prayer of faith. Prayer of faith will save the sick.
-
So if you're going to pray, you need to pray
-
in faith. Scripture three John one, verse two. Beloved, I
-
pray that you may prosper in all things and be
-
in health, just as your soul prospers. Beloved, I pray
-
that you may prosper in all things and be in health,
-
just as your soul prospers. That was John. That's the
-
word health. Gosh ah hohog hoogi hoogi iing on whogi
-
on who better? Is? To have sound health? That's the
-
Greek I just butchered it sorry, to have sound health,
-
to be well, to be in health, to be whole,
-
to be sound. Below, I pray that you may prosper.
-
The word prospercu she means to prosper, to do well
-
and be in health, even as a soul prospers. So
-
we need to stretch towards walking in divine health, knowing
-
it's God's best that we shall prosper. We prosperly can
-
be a blessing spiritual, physical, financially, associal, emotionally, and be
-
in health even as our soul prospers. So I've read
-
a lot of scriptures. Member faith comes by hearing and
-
hearing by the word of God. So we have an
-
opportunity today to respond to the word of God. Whether
-
that's in your seat or appear. I don't mind. The
-
choice is ours. I must have have ut did the
-
preach like this before? Where I stand the pan crotol
-
the scriptures. But you know you do what you asked
-
to do, don't you. God is a spirit John four
-
twenty four. So God is here. So whether you want
-
to see in your set seat and received from God,
-
or whether you want to come here and receive from God,
-
that's entirely up to you. No pressure. If you don't
-
received from God, no pressure, I am. It's not the
-
work of a man. It's the work of the Holy Spirit.
-
But if before we do that, the bower says, if
-
you believe in your heart, confess with your mouth that
-
Jesus Lord, you will be saved. So maybe somebody's in
-
this room, or maybe as something's this known line doesn't believe.
-
So if you believe in your heart, confess with your
-
mouth of Jesus. Lord, you will be saved. But you
-
need to turn around that meta or your peace from
-
the direction you're walking in and walk in the direction.
-
Say if that's you, turn around, give Jesus your life.
-
He'll do something with it. Nobody else will. Let's just
-
mess it up, but he'll do something with it. You know,
-
ask him to commend your life. Turn her out from
-
what you're doing and start walking Jesus a way, drop
-
us a WhatsApp, drop us a message on the website,
-
something to pick it up, or come a speed someday later.
-
But don't miss the opportunity. So where's it going, Emmanuel? Yeah?
-
You playing the keyboards, mister, thank you? M m h.
-
So God is a spirit, he manuals playing the keys.
-
But God is here. I can feel him. So if
-
you've got a need that's a physical need, emotional needs, personally,
-
come out here. We'll pray for you if you want that. Otherwise,
-
releash your faith and believe God for to reach out
-
to you like I do. As walk around the back
-
of that room. Early
