Anchored in God's unchanging Promises

Amen. So good morning church.

I'm excited to be here today. I have a word

that the Lord have given me. But I've always God

likes to interrupt my preaching, so we have a bit

of interruption before I get to the preach. But I

also want to just say thank you to Dave and

Julia for loving God and serving God all these years.

Like we've journeyed for many many years together, and it's

great just to be here to be with you today

and just thank you for just towing the past and

impacting lives. So this morning, I'm going to be sharing

with you on a message titled and goored in God's

Unchanging Promise. But I've always, you know, God have a

way of, you know, interrupting my preachers. So he interrupted

this one. And I'm going to start by telling you

a story and whatever happens this morning, I blame Yazarin

for that prayer this morning, and we were praying in

the prayer room and she just prayed certain things that

kind of stared stuff. And I want to tell you

a story very quickly because we had a moment for testimony.

But I want to give you a testimony because i'd

let you are sharing this morning, this testimony came into

my heart and I thought God, I should share it,

which would lead us to the next point that I'm

getting to, and the testimony of this I was ministerrying

in Mexico many many years ago, thanks to Letty for

opening the doors for me to go to Mexico. I

was minister in a city called Chalcoal, a small city,

and we had an open air crusade on a Thursday

night and God healed people and people got saved. And

then on the Friday night, I got to the crusade

ground a little bit early, and when I got there,

there was my translator with me and one of the pastors,

and we were just sitting there and this boss arrives

and the young man by the name in Manuel steps

out of the bus. It's probably fifteen years old, and

he was pulling, literally dragging this older man who was

his neighbor to the crusade ground. And I talked to

my translator and said, I wonder why Emanuel was here early.

It's like almost forty five minutes before the service is

to start. And Emanuel makes a bee line for me

and my translator and introduces his neighbor, and he said Sir,

this is my neighbor because of what I saw God

do yesterday. My neighborhoods been dying of diabetes. And I

told him last night that if he comes to this

crusade ground, not only will he get healed, but he

will be filled with the Holy Ghost and so over

to you.

And there I am.

I'm looking at this boy. I'm looking at my translator.

I'm looking at God. And I was like, what do

I do now? And the spill Lord said something to me.

He said, this man is already healed. He was healed

on the forty five minute journey because Emmanuel's faith made

him whole.

And so I looked at the man.

I said, man, you were shield in the name of Jesus.

But not because I'm praying for you, but because this

young boy had enough faith to get you on a

bus and bring you forty five minutes to a crusade ground.

Because of what he saw yesterday.

And so all I'm going to do now is ask you,

do you want to give your.

Life to Jesus. He gives his life to Jesus.

He gets filled with the Holy girls before the crusade starts.

And that is one miracle that I know when I

get to heaven would not have my name on it,

would say man healed of diabetes in Chalcol, Mexico.

Healer Immanuel.

Right, we know Jesus is the healer, but that miracle

is not going to be credited to me. It's going

to be credited to him because he heard God in

his heart and he therefore took an action because he

was anchored in the fact that if God did it yesterday,

he can do it today. And I don't know about

you this morning. I don't know why you're here, don't

know why you came, don't.

Know how long you've been coming.

But I've come to tell you this morning that if

God could do it yesterday, guess what he can do

it today. And so, whatever you're going through, whatever you're experiencing,

whatever is an interruption in your life, this morning, I

want to give you an encouragement from a Manuel's story

that Emmanuel brought a miracle into a man's life because

he just believed God. He refused to accept that distance

of a challenge. He refused to accept that whether I

was ready or not, he didn't care. He didn't care

whether I was ready or not. He just said over

to you, sir, and yeah, so how that story inspires

some faith in you as we look at the word

of God this morning. But like I said, God interrupted me,

and this is what he said to me this morning.

He said, God is not a man that he should like.

I want you to start at the deep end this

morning and ask my people, is there anybody here this morning?

It's probably the most important thing I'm going to do today.

Is there anybody here this morning that is struggling to

hear the voice of God? You're struggling to hear the

voice of God. There's so much noise, so much activity,

so much going on, change locations or change situations, and

you know in your heart that this morning you're not

hearing clearly the voice of God. Or maybe you have

heard the voice of God before, but right now you

can honestly put your hand on your heart and say,

I'm not hearing the voice of God as clearly as

I would like to hear it.

I'm just going to ask you to be bold, to

be brave, and just stand.

God wouldn't interrupt me unless he knew that there were

people that needed this this morning.

Just stand where you are.

You're struggling I see you standing, Just stand, stand.

Stand.

You're not standing for me, You're standing to him. You're

standing to him. You're asking him to come and speak

to you. You're struggling this morning to hear the voice

of God where you're standing. Just place your heart and

hand on your heart. Yeah, just place your hand on

your heart. God, I ask you in obedience to you

this morning. I'm responding to what you're asked me to do,

and I'm asking God, would you flood these men and

women who were standing before. You're asking you to be

able to hear your voice clearly and accurately.

God, I pray that.

Your voice will become clear, not an echo, not like

an echo chamber, but actually clear, clear clear.

I ask for clarity.

I ask for ears to be on blogs, for spirits

to be made alive, and for your voice to be

heard above every other voice. Right now the Bible say

the voice of a stranger you will not hear in

Jesus name. Just stay where you are, to stay there

for a second. Just stay where you are. Your heart

might stop beating faster, your mind might start receiving stuff.

Just stay where you are for a moment. Just stay there.

Speak to my heart, Sweet Spirit of God, speak to

my heart.

And let me no.

Speak to their hearts, Sweet Spirit of God, speak to

their hearts.

And let them no. Amen, you may be seated. I

have the full assurance that God's voice it's going to

be louder and louder from this moment on because God

wouldn't interrupt my preach for no reason. And God knew

that you needed to be here to hear me. Make

that call to hear me. Ask you to step into

something different from this moment.

Amen.

So if you can go to my first slide, I

was talking today about being anchored in God's on changing promise.

You see, life is unpredictable. The shifts shift in the economy,

shift in politics, shift in relationships. One thing that is

absolutely sure is that change is constant. There will always

be change. But you see, God offers us something very different.

He offers us an anchor for Assaul. The Bible says,

this anchor, this hope that comes from God is unchangeable.

It's unchangeable. It's character. You see, God promises based on

his character. Like I've been involved in prophecy for a

long time in my life and recently this year, God's

beginning to tell me there's a difference, my son, between

prophecy and promise. See the Bible saying that first going

to thirteen, that prophecies have a destiny, that they might fail.

Prophecies might fail, prophecies might change, prophecies can become unpredictable.

But the one thing that doesn't change is a promise.

And I'm like, God, how did.

I miss this?

How did I not see the difference between promise and prophecy?

And God is asking us this morning to step into.

Something around promise.

That I would say, the expectation of the righteous shall

not be cut shot. But we need to be expecting

in hope. We need to be expecting with gratitude. We

need to be expecting with an anchor. What is anchoring

your life today? Is it the voice of God, the

voice of the media, the voice of your fear?

What is anchoring you?

So let's look Conscripture Hebrews, chapter six, verse seventeen to nineteen.

This is what I'm anchoring this in today. Thus God,

in New King James version said this. Thus God determined

to show more abundantly to the health of the promise

you and I the.

Imitability of His counsel.

He confirmed it by an oath that by two immutable

things in which it is impossible for God to lie,

we might have strong consolation who have fled for refuge

to lay hold of the hope set before us. This

hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both

sure and step for us, which enters the presence behind

the veil. Let's really from the amplified, then get it amplified.

He says this the.

Same way, God, in his desire to show to the

heirs of the promise the unchangeable nature of his purpose.

Intervened and guaranteed.

It with an oath. Let me explain that a little bit.

What are you saying that God made a promise? And

when he made the promise to you, he then said,

I want to seal this promise. I want to guarantee

this promise. This promise is sure, this promise is accurate,

but I want to seal it.

And then God.

Said, I swear I would keep my promise to you.

God says, I promise you I will neither leave you

nor forsake you.

But in case you don't believe.

Me, I swear I will neither leave you nor forsake you.

That's what that verse is saying. God is saying, I

promise you.

Look, my promise is guaranteed like it's it's guaranteed, but

I want to double guarantee you. Therefore, I'm gonna swear

to you that I will keep my promise. Then it

says this, so that by two unchangeable things, two things

that are not one that can't change his promise and

his oath in which it is impossible for God to lie,

we who have fled to him.

I mean, I don't know whether about you, but I

had to.

Flee to God for refuge, would have strong encouragement and

in duelling strengths to hold tightly to the hope.

Set before us. This hope, this hope.

Faith, They're say in Hebrews eleven one. Faith is the

substance of things hoped for the evidence of things, not saying.

This hope that we have we have as an anchor

of the soul. It cannot slip, it cannot break down

under whatever pressure bears upon it.

A safe step fod hope that enters.

Within the veil the heavenly Temple, that most holy place

in which the very presence of God dwells. God is

inviting us into a hope that's not in man, a

hope that's not in Halifax, a hope that's not in

your guaranteed credit card. It is a hope that's guaranteed

on the very presence of God. See, if I have

hope in anything else, that hope could shatter, could break.

Even though I do have hope in my breaks that

they're gonna work. This is stronger than that. This is

deeper than that. See next line. You see God's promise

is unchangeable. He gives us the assurance because we are

heirs of that promise. We are inheritors of that promise.

We're inheritors with Jesus Christ of the promise. He said

to Jesus, I would not leave your soul in hell.

As a promise.

In Romans, chapter one, verse four, said that he was

determined to be called the son of God because the

power of God went into Hell and pulled him out.

So, yes, you died for the sins of the world. Yes,

I know.

I know you're guilty because I put the guilt of

the world upon you.

Now you're in hell for three days.

But I promised you that I will not leave your

soul in hell. And he goes into hell and pulls

him out, yanks him out.

Hell's like, WHOA, what happened? Right now? It was a promise.

There was a promise. I will not leave your soul

in hell, no matter where you go.

Guess what, I'll find you even if I was even

if you make your bed in hell, Sam, the want

that in night I will find you. So this morning,

when I'm talking to you about a promise, Keeper, I'm

talking to you about a God.

Who can fulfill his promise.

He confirms his word with an oath to show he

does not change. Number twenty three, Verse nineteen says says

God is not a man that he should lie. If

he spoke it, he will bring.

It to mast. See.

God is more interested in fulfilling his promise than we are.

You see people break promises, but God doesn't promise. Keeper.

I'm sure you've heard that song Waymaker lights in the darkness.

In Acts twenty seventh, verse twenty two to twenty four, Paul,

it's like Acts twenty seven, Paul tells the people, I

don't think we should go on this journey. I want

you to understand. Paul was a prisoner, and he's like, goes

to the governor of the ship. He says, dude, like,

I perceive there will be loss of life, loss of

good if we go on this voyage. The Bible says

that the captain goes to the navigator and goes to

the navigator and says, navigator, what do you think this

guy is saying.

Don't mind. Damn, We'll be fine.

And so they go on this journey, and in the

middle of the journey, the boat begins to be.

Tossed from left right.

And then Paul in verse twenty acts twenty seven, Verse

twenty two, Paul goes to.

The captain and says, I told you back then I

don't think we should go on this voyage, but you

wouldn't listen. Now we're here. But here's the good news

I have for you.

The one whom I serve and the one who I

am here is sell an angel to me this morning

or this evening or whatever time it was and said

to me there shall be no loss of life. It's

a promise, is guaranteed. Shud just don't get out of

the boat. Actually, what we need to do is we

need to run aground onto an island. The boat will

be destroyed, but there will be no loss of life.

If you know your scriptures very well.

They're on the ground on an island called Malta, Acts

twenty eighth, verse one, And when they get to the island,

they buy the fire and a snake comes. A poisonous

snake comes and wraps himself around Paul's arm.

And the people of the.

Town said, Wow, this guy must be really evil because

he escaped a shipwreck and now he's gonna die from

a snake bite. Shakes the snake into the fire and

they wait, he's gonna die now, He's gonna die now,

just about now historically okay, maybe he's got strong blood.

Literally should be now. And then Paul doesn't die, and

they say to him, you must be a god. What

happened is that they're dealing with the situation that they

don't understand.

They're dealing with the promise.

There shall be no loss of life, whether in the

ship or on the island, there will be no loss

of life. I traveled to multi a couple of years ago.

When I got there, they a take you and afford

the experience, and they talk about Paul and how when

Paul came to this island, these poison mistakes stopped existing.

My point promise unchangeable. Paul had a promise there.

Will be no loss of life.

When I say no loss of life, I also include

myself there will be no loss of life next side. See,

I hope is secure in God's character. You see what

God used as a guarantee for his promise was his nature,

his character.

It's like I am a good God.

Like I mean, when you think about everything, you can

think about every name you can think about, ask giving God.

God has one name that can be changed. I was

says an Act ten, verse thirty eight. How God anointed

Jesus chribe now that with the Holy Ghost with power

and went about doing what good. I'm like, God, why

don't you say he was the sick first? Why don't

you see raised the dead first? He said, no, no, no,

What's more important is that you probably need to You

probably need to go back to slides. Please, So you're

ahead of me there.

I'm on.

I don't know what sight it is, but it says,

I hope he's secure in God's character. Yes, thank you,

all right? So this is what God is saying. God's

promise his oath. It's impossible for God to lie. I

swear to you, I will neither leave you nor forsake you.

God swore by himself to Abraham.

See anchor your faith in God's word, not in your

feelings or the news.

Run to him for refuge.

He'll establish your heart next night. I hope he is

anchored in God himself. God is the ankle of the ful.

He's sure he steppfast.

We're hoping God who promises to keep his promise. I

want to introduce you to somebody who changed my life.

God a promise keeper, so confident in his ability to

keep promises, he said, I swear by myself, so I

always say there's no people swear by something greater. And

God looked around and say, oh, okay, there's nothing greater,

nothing greater.

So I swear by myself.

I promise to promise you that I will keep my promise.

You see, a ship without an anchor drifts. In the

Kingdom of God, drifting is optional. If your choice is

to anchor your soul in Him, it's a choice You're

gonna make that choice. Life without Christ drifts and fear

and distraction. But if you anchor in God, guess what

You're safe. So now this leads me to my main point,

the triple guarantee. Triple guarantee. You go buy a car,

you can change next life.

Yeah, thank you.

Triple guarantee. You go buy a car, they give you

a guarantee. They give you a warranty. You buy a product,

they give you a guarantee, They give you a warranty.

Well, with God, he.

Gives you a triple guarantee. Number one. First of all,

he gives you his promise. Then he swears, I promise

to keep my promise right. Then number two, he swears

on that promise. God swears by himself, gives an extra

layer of certainty that the promise he just made to

you he's gonna keep it. And then finally he gives

you this third guarantee. You see, my nature, the nature

of God is that God is unchangeable. See, no matter

what philosophers tell you, no matter what science tells you,

no matter what your life might tell you, because your

life sometimes tried to tell you a different story than

the story that God is telling you. Here's the truth.

God's character is unchangeable. His nature is unchangeable.

In Genesis, if you go to Next Life.

In Genesis twelve to twenty five, we read the story

of Abraham. God promises him you will have a child,

and he has to wait twenty five years by virtue

of the nature of the people in this room, not

twenty five seconds for the TikTok to change you hear me,

twenty five years for some of us, as might be

looked like a long time by Abraham waited for twenty

five years.

Now. In that delay, of course, doubts came in.

Sarah was barren, his body was about to be dysfunctional,

and so they tried to help God, and they brought

Ishmael into the picture. And God had to say, guys,

you don't understand. The promise is not to you and

he guy, It's to you and Sarah.

The promise of a child is.

To you and Sarah. No matter how impossible this looks.

Right now, I am telling you the truth. You and

Sarah are going to have a child. Oh yeah, we

are going to break medical science completely totally. It's going

to be impossecant, but it's going to happen because I

said it so. And there's certain things in your life

that would happen, not because you earned it or deserved it,

just because he said so. I think somebody said once

that God would jump over a thousand heads to get

to you to fulfill his promise. And so in the end,

Abraham had to make a choice. He made a choice

to believe God. I don't have time to unpack that,

but it's a choice. You See, when God makes you

a promise, you have to make a choice to believe God.

It's not an easy choice.

Because even after Abraham believed God and they did have

a child, one day God says to him, Hey, Abraham, how.

Are you doing.

Take that your son, a son? I promised you take

him and go and sacrifice him to me. The scripture

tells us he takes the son into tells his eyes.

He said, guys, me and the boy were going up

the mountain. Just sacrifice to God, but we will be back.

Hebrews letters make us understand that Abraham believes God so

much that even if he did go ahead and kill

his son, God was responsible for bringing.

That song back to life. See, because God promised it.

It doesn't mean it's gonna be easy, but what it

does mean is that it's going to come to pass.

So let's bring this to a close because I think

I'm about five minutes over time, so just take my

testimony as testimony time. So the storms are inevitable like

this morning. You know this, but drifting is optional. There

will always be a storm. But for you to drift,

it's optional because if you're anchoring God, you ain't drifting.

God's promise, God's olds equals unshakable hope.

You know what Peter says.

He said, when people ask you, what is the reason

for the hope that is in you.

Tell them a good answer.

So here's three calls to action, and it's four for

those who I prayed for for the for the three

cause of action for everybody's like, identify where you've been drifting.

Identify where you've been drifting.

Once you identify, re anchor yourself in God's promise through

prayer and the word. Number three, live daily with hope

anchored in an internal presence, an internal purpose.

And number four.

Assignments for those who are looking out for the voice

of God. Be more aware of the voice of God. See,

God speaks not just in our hearts. God speaks through nature.

God speaks through everything. And look at what The Bible

says in Psalm sixty two, verse five, my soul waited

for God silently, for God alone, for my expectation is

from him. He only is my rock, my salvation. He

is my defense. I shall not be moved. Let me

read that again. My soul waits silently for God alone,

not for any other voice, not for any other opportunity,

but just for God alone, for my expectation is from him.

He only is my rock and my salvation. He is

my defense. I shall not be moved by her head

with me. Please, just talk to God for a moment.

I've said a lot of things, but maybe there's just

one thing. God wants you to take this moment. Maybe

he just wants you to angle in. Just re establish

your confidence in.

Him, because my hope is built in nothingless. Then Jesus

mut hand righteousness.

I shall not mm hmmm, but solely, solely didn't geezus

Christ alone.

Crist stop the calmer stone the weak may strong in.

The samevir love through the storm.

He Lord.

Lord, as the Father.

We just.

Declare with our mouths you a lot of all.

For those of us who are drifting. Would you anchor

us for those of us who need re anchoring. Would

you cost what they've heard today to just re anchor them?

Because we know if we go through the storm, only

one thing is sure, You our Lord, if the Father

establish you as Lord over our ears, Lord over our hearing,

Lord over our hearts. And this week that we step into,

may your voice be clear, distinct above every other voice.

And may we recollect with joy every promise, every truth

in Jesus name. Because through the storm mm hmmm, Heavenly Father,

we pray
