Lord, Teach Us To Pray (Luke 11:1-4)

Well, it's good to be with you.

Glad you're here worshiping with us this morning in person

or online if you have your Bible has turned with

me to Luke the Gospel, Luke chapter eleven. This morning,

Luke chapter eleven. We, as Devin alluded to and mentioned

a minute ago, we are this month, this Prayer emphasis month,

and so we have a little book for you to

help you pray through this month. So we'll ask you

to grab one of those as you go out. There's

a little basket. But this month, since we're doing Prayer

Emphasis month, I wanted to do a series on prayer

and us to grow in prayer. And so what better

teacher to teach us how to pray than Jesus himself.

And in Luke chapter eleven, Jesus teaches his disciples how

to pray. And I over the next few weeks we're

going to stay in Luke chapter eleven, and look how

Jesus taught his disciples to pray. And I hope that

through this, sir, this series, that the Lord will grow

you in your prayer. I don't know about you, but

all of us, I feel like for me personally, all

of us feel like there are places where we can

grow in our faith, and one in particular for me

is I feel like I can grow a lot in prayer.

And as we look to this sermon, I hope that

he will grow us, he will strengthen us and how

to pray, and how to pray more effectively. Heard of

a little boy one day and he was walking by

a pictures picture of Christ, and it was Jesus. And

there in the picture the painting, Jesus was knelt down praying.

Little boy looked at his dad and said, Daddy, what

is he doing. His dad looked to his son and

told his son, he says, well, that's Jesus and Jesus

is praying. Little boy kind of looked at his dad

kind of said, well, that's kind of strange, isn't it.

She says, he said, but Jesus is God.

Is you think about it? It's interesting to think that

Jesus is in Carnine. He is he was fully God

and fully man. Yet he saw the importance of daily

bowing before the Father and praying.

Heard of a saint, his name is Cyprien.

Cyprium said this once about prayer and about Jesus praying.

If he prayed.

Who was without sin, how much more it becomes a

sinner to pray. Well, as we look at this amazement

by this saying, and also this little boy of watching

Jesus pray, as we come to Luke eleven, the disciples

have watched Jesus pray. They have constantly seen in his ministry.

They spent years with him, him getting along and praying,

and they saw that there was something different about how

Jesus prayed compared to how they prayed. And they thought,

just as this young boy said, and just as this

Saint Cyprien said, if it was important for Jesus to pray,

so it must be important for us to pray. And

so therefore they asked Jesus teach us how to pray.

And so in Luke chapter eleven, Jesus teaches them how

to pray. And in this prayer, this prayer is commonly

known as the Lord's prayer. There's two times in scripture

the Lord's Prayer seen. It's in Luke chapter eleven and

also in Matthew chapter six, and Matthew.

Chapter six is a longer version.

It's the version that most of the time we quote together,

or maybe you've heard people quote.

As a prayer to the Lord.

In Luke chapter six, it's a little bit abbreviated section.

The setting is different.

In Matthew chapter six, Jesus is preaching his Sermon on

the Mount. He's preaching among thousands of thousand people who

have gathered together to hear him preach, and he's preaching

what we understand is the Sermon on the Mount. In in

the midst of his sermon, he prays the Lord's prayer

there full of version and Luke chapter eleven, it's a difference.

Setting here, it's just his disciples. It's kind of a

small gathering, just his disciples. His disciples ask him, Lord

teaches how to pray, and Jesus gives them a condensed

version of the prayer that he gave on his Sermon

on the Mount. There's several really unique aspects of Jesus's prayer.

One as he praise here, as he teaches them how

to pray. The prayer is a it's a corporate prayer,

you know. I don't know if you've as you've heard

of the Lord's prayer and you've heard people say the

Lord's prayer. I don't know if you maybe just always

understood it be a corporate prayer, But it is Jesus

taught them to pray this together, that they should pray

this corporately as a body.

How do we know that?

Well, in the prayer he uses plural pronouns to indicate

that it's a group prayer. Our Father, give us, forgive us,

lead us. And so we see that he says that

we should pray this corporately. Another aspect, this unique element

of this prayer that Jesus teaching, is how Jesus devised

the prayer.

He divides the prayer kind of.

Two parts, if you will, or two divisions he did

one the beginning of prayer, he teaches his disciples of

things that they.

Are to declare.

So part of the prayer is us declaring things to God,

declaring things about who God is.

And the second aspect of the prayer is request. What

should we pray? What should we ask of God? How?

What should we petition God for? So this morning I

just asked you as we come to this pastors Luke

chapter eleven, tought of my sermon this Lord teach us

to pray? I wonder today, where are you in your

prayer life? How are you in the discipline of prayer.

Pray daily weekly? Is it just over the meal a

few times a day? How are you growing in prayer?

And may today, as we see our savior pray. May

we say just like those disciples today, Lord, teach me

to pray. Teach me how to pray. Lord, help me understand.

What are some things that as I pray, that I

should declare to You and God? What are some things

that I need to ask of you daily? And so

let's learn from the Father today. Let's learn from Jesus

as he taught on prayer. Let's listen to his teaching.

We still with me. Luke chapter eleven. We'll start in

verse one, and we'll read through verse four. The Bible

says in Luke chapter eleven, starting in verse one, now

Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he

had finished, one of his disciples said to him, Lord,

teach us to pray. As John told his disciples. And

he said to them, when you pray, say Father, Hollo.

Be your name, your Kingdom.

Come give us each day our daily bread, and forgive

us our sins for we ourselves. Forgive everyone who is

indebted to us, and lead us not into temptation. Let's

pray together, Father, or teach us to pray today.

Teach us how to pray.

Father, and Lord, just as those group of disciples were

hanging upon your word that day, Lord, may Lord we

hang upon your word today. May we see Lord, your

example of how you prayed. And Lord, may we long

to have the same prayer life, the same communication with

a personal God. So, Lord, I pray today. Lord, you

know I am a frail weak man, Lord, that you

called to be a pastor. And Lord, I pray today

that you would feel me. You would clear my thoughts,

my thoughts, Lord, and that you would feel me, Lord,

with not my words but your words. And Lord, I

would declare your word today faithfully. Lord, May your spirit

feel this place, and may our hearts be a tentative

Lord to your word. Lord speak today, we pray in

your name.

We pray. Amen. You maybe see the So.

How how to pray? Jesus instructions on prayer. First, Jesus

teaches us what we are to declare in prayer?

First? What do we declare?

We are declare His Holiness Now in verse as I

said in my introduction, you see the beginning the passage

begins where Jesus was praying in a certain place. So

they've seen Jesus praying, just like that little boy saw

Jesus praying in the picture. They see him praying. They say,

how much more should we, as sinners pray? And so

they say to him, Lord, teach us how to pray.

As you see.

Also this passage, it says, as John's taught his disciples,

it was common that the teacher would teach their followers

how to pray. Jews would be instructed and have many

writings on how to pray. And so he's they've seen

other disciples, other teachers like John the Baptist, teach their disciples.

And they're saying, Jesus, we're following you, and we see

that you're praying.

You teach us how to pray.

And then Jesus begins, and and he said to them again,

this a corporate prayer. When you pray, say and then

he gives them instructions of what to pray.

The first thing he says.

To them and when and how to pray, or is

his instructions how to pray?

He says that we pray. Father.

The term father there is a personal Greek word for

father is from the Aramaic. We would hear the term abbah.

You've heard people say abba father. It's a personal term.

It's a term that someone used to call their dad

by name. We would have different terms we would use

to call our father's by name, and it would be

a termin of endearment. It's the same idea here. This

was a Greek word for his father. It's interesting if

you think about this in scripture. Every time in scripture

in the New Testament, the only person that we ever

see called God father would be Jesus and Jesus talking

about God, he calls him father. There's no other place

in all of scripture where we see God is described

as father except Jesus.

Why because Jesus was God's son and he.

Had a personal relationship with what God, and he knew

him as what his father and Jesus.

So you see this understanding what Jesus is saying.

When you pray, when I pray and we see Jesus pray,

he called him father. He says to you and I,

when we pray to the Lord, to the God of

this universe, you're to call him father. You know, in

Jewish when they taught how to pray. In Jewish literature

when they talked to pray, there was never a time

where Jews would say, when we call out father, we

would ever call him father without first calling him a

heavenly father. You would just call him simply father. It

was heavenly Father. And it kind of created this idea

that there was this He is magnificent, he is greater,

he is creator, he is sovereign, he is Lord, and

he is in heaven. And you really don't have maybe

the authority or maybe the relationship to call him personal

god yet or a personal father.

Yet. Jesus says what, No, God.

Wants to know you and have a personal relationship with you,

and when you talk to him, he wants it to

be a personal communication between you and him, just as

you would talk to your earthly father. God wants you

to see him as a personal god who wants a.

Personal relationship with you.

He doesn't want this distant relationship where you see that

he's up in the heaven and he can't be reached,

he can't be access No, he is a personal God

who wants a personal relationship with you.

And when you cry out to him, say Daddy, Father,

I need you, there was this. No.

He says first that we when you praise a father.

The second aspect of this, he instructions of what we

are declared. We declare him his father, but next week

we declare Father.

Hallo be your name.

The word hallo there is not a term we use

at all. It's kind of foreign to us in the

English language. But it means to sanctifier or to make holy.

If you would translate it with that understanding, we would

maybe translated as Father, let your name be made holy

or let your name be sanctified. God as who God is,

and one of the divine attributes of God, as God

is holy.

What does it mean for God to be holy?

It means that God is It's set apart, He's different,

He's like no other. We see the angels cry out

when Isaiah sees the Lord high and lift it up.

What did the angels cry out?

And Seraphim and the Isaiah six, Holy, Holy, Holy is

the Lord. They're describing God. You are unique Lord. There

is no other. There's no other God like you. God.

You are set apart, you are holy. God. You are

there is no God like you. That's what the idea

of holiness.

And so when we declare God, Father, We say God,

let your name be Holy, God.

Your name is unique. God. There is none like you.

There's an old song that was written in nineteen ninety

two by a writer named Bill Gaither. You may have

heard it, and it's called there is something about that name,

you know that song.

Jesus Jesus.

There's just something about that name, Master Savior Jesus, like

the fragrance after the reign Jesus Jesus. Let all heaven

and earth proclaim, kings and kingdoms will all pass away.

But there's something about that name in that truth. There

is something about the name of Jesus.

It's like a name like no other.

When you pray to you, say Father, Today, I have

a relationship with you and God. I want a personal

relationship with You and God. There is no other God

like you, God and God. There is nothing in my

life that compares to you. There's nothing in this world

that compares to you. There is something about your name,

and it's something about your name in my life. God,

You're greater than all things in my life.

God.

Today I declare you as Father, but God, I declare Lord.

There is something about your name. You're greater than everything

in my life and everything in this world. And God,

I want your name to be known. I want your

name to be holy. There's nothing compares to you God.

As you pray, Jesus teaches us to declare God's holiness. Secondly,

what are we declare? We declare God's coming kingdom.

That's what he says. When you pray, he.

Says in verse two, Father, holl love be your name,

your kingdom, Come, Oh Jesus command.

By the way, these.

First two parts of this prayer, these decorations are in

the English terms we would use imperatives. Imperatives means its commands.

These are things that he's commanding us to pray. When

we pray, we are to pray. Jesus commands that we

declare his holiness. Secondly, he commands or that we declare

God's coming kingdom. Not only we declare by saying God

and our prayer, how will be your name.

And let your name be holy? God?

Let you are all together unique, and we want the

whole earth to know that you are great.

If you think.

About that today, as we as God's people, if we

have our personal relationship with Jesus, we know there's nothing

there's something about that name, right, we know there's something

about God. The reality is, we see others throughout our world,

maybe some in your family, maybe some in your neighborhood,

maybe some people that you come in contact with, and

they don't know God like you do. They don't know

God as father. They don't know the uniqueness.

Of who God. They don't understand the holiness of God.

Like there's no thing like Jesus.

But the desire is what that they would know that

God is holy. And reality is when Jesus comes again

and his second coming. Every scripture says, every kneed will

bow and every tone will confess that Jesus is Lord.

You understand that that when Jesus comes again and his

second coming, you understand when he came in his first coming,

he began, he inaugurated the kingdom of God.

But we know that one.

Day when Jesus comes again his second coming, that's the

the culmination of the Kingdom of God on this earth.

And everyone in this whole earth will know that God

is holy.

Everyone on this whole earth will know.

That Jesus is Lord, that Jesus lived on this earth,

that he died and rose again, and that there is

nothing there is something.

About his name. Scripture says as well.

I just quoted in Philippians that when Jesus comes again

and the culmination of his kingdom, not only will everybody know,

but every need will bow and every.

Tone will confess that Jesus, what is Lord? This prayer?

Jesus says, when we pray, God, let your name be holy,

Made it be made holy, May it be unique.

Lord, I declared, there's nothing like you, God.

But the second part of this decoration is God, I

loan for your kingdom to come.

Lord, let your kingdom come.

The other day, you know, I'm a huge sports fan.

I love sports. I love to watch I don't know

if I love to watch Tar Hills right now. It's

kind of hard, but I still do love them. And

I love the Mets. I'm a baseball fan, so like

New York Mets. And when I was a little kid,

there was a player from North Carolina who played on

the football team, the New York Giants. His name was

Lawrence Taylor. And I became a New York Giants fan.

And that's hard. That's been hard for the last ten years. Well,

Thursday night, something miraculous happened. They won a football game.

And not only did they win a football game, they

won a football game against the reignings Super Bowl champions,

the Philadelphia Eagles. If you like the Eagles, I'm sorry,

but you just had to let me have a little.

Bit of joy, okay. And so the next day I

was so excited. I went.

I went in my clawst upstairs into attic and I

pulled out a Giant's T shirt. It'd be collecting dust

because nobody wanted to wear it because it's been so bad. Right,

I got it out and I put it on Friday,

and I was off on Friday, so I went and

run some errands and we did some shopping.

You know where I went.

I went to Sam's and I went to some other places.

And I tell you, you would think I was part of

the team. I've walked and somebody to look at you,

and he pointed my shirt and see my Giants.

He come up give me. We clapped high five. He said, Man,

wasn't there great?

I bet twelve people, no kidding, twelve people. We almost

had like a rally in the midst of one of

these stores.

Three Giants fans came together and.

I think we were going to start jumping up and

elbowing each other.

I mean, just celebrating there in the store. We were

so excited.

Twelve different people stopped me in the middle of my

shopping that here's Teeed or Sam's and all the different places,

just to celebrate that the giants won.

You know, here's the thing.

One day, I know, listen, I know because of what

Jesus has done for me. I know, as that song

we just sang, I know that he called me by name,

and I know when he called me by name, Jesus,

a personal god, stepped out of heaven and he stepped

into my heart, and he saved me from sin, and

he gave me victory over sin. And one day He's

going to get me victory over death. And I know

the victory that Jesus has. But there are so many

people that I cross path with at the grocery store

and in our neighborhoods, and in our schools and in

the workplace, and they don't know the victory of Jesus.

But one day, listen, I long for the day that

he comes and everybody will know, and the whole world

will know.

That Jesus is Lord.

And in this prayer, Jesus says, we should pray and say,

may it be today God, Come Jesus, Come Lord. I

want all the people to know, Lord, what you have done.

I want everyone to know. There is something about your name, Jesus,

that you are great, and you are the God of

all God, and you're the king of all kings. When

you pray, will you pray God, let your name be

holy that God. Would you pray this boldly, Lord, let

your kingdom come.

Lord. I want you to come.

I want your come. I want you to come, and

I want people to know that you are Lord Lord.

May your kingdom come. The second aspect, the second part

of this prayer is he teach us first what we

are declared.

Would you clear.

That God's God's holiness, Weird declare God's coming kingdom. And

then the second part of the prayer is what weird

to request. First, Weird to requests daily provisions. Jesus says

here verse two, and he said to them, when you pray,

say Father.

Hall it be your name, let you know your kingdom

come first. That says, give us each day our daily bread.

The first request there is a request for daily provisions.

It's interesting as we walk through this passage and kind of.

Understand what does he mean by daily provisions.

He's teaching us that we are to request daily our

daily bread. Is really suggests that Jesus want of his

disciples to recognize that God was a provider of all things.

He provided every need for every individual and every need

for every disciple, so much as the elemmentary needs of bread.

God was the brider of everything that they had and

everything that they needed.

Jesus was the provider.

You know, one thing about prayer I think is so

important when we think about just conceptionally, you say, pastor,

why do I pray?

Why should I pray? Well? Prayer?

One of the aspects of prayer is prayer as decoration

of our dependence upon the Lord. When we pray, we're

demonstrating to our Lord and our heart posture that Lord,

I recognize in my prayer that I need you, Lord,

that I can't make it through this life without you, Father,

I can't make it through this life without you.

I need you.

Jesus in turn takes that and he says, when you pray,

you pray with the heart of dependent saying God, I

need you, and God, I need you.

Listen for the very very basic needs of my life.

I need you for bread. I need you for food, Lord,

for the very basic needs of my life.

It reminds me of this prayer, or remind us if

you think about it, it really reminds us of Jesus.

I mean the teaching in the Old testamount about manna.

You remember the Bible and the Exodus. I think it's Exodus.

Let me look here, Exodus sixteen. The Israelites were in

the wilderness and they were hungry, and they've been taking

out a captivity in Egypt where they have plenty of.

Food, and now they're in the wilderness that have no food,

and they're hungry.

And says Therefore, the Lord hears their cries right, and

he decides he's going to send them something.

And it's bread, bread from heaven.

They call it mana and Exodus sixteen for it says

then the Lord said to Moses Bold, I'm about to

rain down bread from heaven for you, and the people

shall go out and gather.

Listen to this.

They should gather what a day's portion every day that

I might test them.

See it gives them instructions.

Hey, I'm want to bring manna from heaven it's going

to rain down every day, and it gives them instructions.

Y were to go out and you're to get enough

bread from heaven manna for what that day. And he

tells them don't gather too much and don't try to

what gather too much that you don't need, or also

don't gather so much that you try to store it for.

The next day. But what happens next day They wake

up and they see the man from heaven.

They went out, and some of them gather what they needed,

but some of them got more than they needed, and

they tried to store it up for the next day.

And scripture says in verse sixteen twenty, but they did

not listen to Moses, and some left part till the morning,

and it bred worms and it stunk, so that Moses

was angry for them. See, the thing that the Lord

wanted to teach them in Exodus was every day, I'm

going to provide what you need for that day, and

you need to ask God's people. You need to trust

me for your daily provisions of Lord, what I need

for today.

I trust in you.

As we pray our prayer as a hart posture saying God,

Lord everything that I need in this life, everything I

need for Sunday, Lord, I trust that you will provide it.

Have you ever thought? Have you thought about that when

you prayed? You pray, Lord, I need you for today. God,

I can't provide for myself. You know that was the

thing for that people in Exodus. They couldn't provide for theirself.

They really needed God to provide for them. So they're

trusting in not their provisions, but God's provisions. I think

it's interesting if you notice in this prayer and also

in Exodus, in this prayer, Jesus says he doesn't tell

them when you pray, say give us each week our

daily bread, or give us each month our daily bread,

or give us each year our daily bread.

No no, no.

And you think about why if God would give you

all that you need in one month's time or one

month allotments, or one or six months allotments or one

year allotments, why why would God want you.

To go to him every day?

Because if He gave you enough for a month, or

give you enough for six months, or give enough for

a year, you would only call.

To him once a year, or once a month or

once a week.

God wants you and I to go him daily and

say God every day, or do I need you? I

wonder today have you gotten to a place? I think

the danger for all of us is we depend too

much upon ourselves to provide for our all needs and

not the Lord. We said, well, I don't need to

pray God. I got a hot pocket in the freezer.

I can make it if I get real hungry, So

I don't really need the God provide I gotten a

microwave from we will mill in the house, or I've

got a shelter from my roofs. I don't really ask

God to provide me shelter. I've got a good job.

I don't really need to God provide me financially. How

God healthy relationships. I don't really need God provide me

a relationship. I really have got everything I need. And

as a result, we are dependent upon ourself to provide

for ourself, and we lost the desire to understand God.

Every day.

God, I need you, And the Lord says to you

and I that daily we should say to him, Father, Lord,

I know you put the hot pocket in the freezer. Lord,

I know you're the one that gave me the roof

of my head. God, you're the one that gave me

the job. God, You're the one that gives me the relationship.

So Sunday today, Lord, I need you again. I need you, Lord, Lord,

provide for me today.

I depended upon you to provide.

Secondly, weird request and only daily provisions first. But secondly

we'd a request forgiveness. Secondary request Jesus teaches disciples is

that they should go daily before the Lord and they

should ask God to forgive them of sins. Not only

does he teach them that they should request forgiveness of sins,

but also he teaches them that how we are to be,

how we are to be forgiven, we also should respond

by forgiving others.

It's interesting if you look at his passage.

Let's read it together. In Verse four says, and forgive

us our sins. Listen to the next part here, for

we ourselves forgive everyone who is indebted to us. Uses

two words for sin. He uses sin and then use

the word debt to describe sin. The idea for there is,

if we when we sin against God, we God. Let

me use it say it this way, when we sin

against Him or others, that creates a debt to those

that we sin against. Right, that's the imagery of debt there.

So if we sin against God a debt against us, right,

if we sin against others, they have a sin sin

debt against us. Daily we sin against the Lord. Think

about it, we do, don't we. It's not a day

that you goes by that you don't sin.

I don't sin. We all are sinners.

Sometimes it's knowingly, deliberately we sin against God. Sometimes it's unknowingly,

and that collects a dead against the Lord has against

us for the sins. Right now, we know that Jesus

down on our cross for gives us all of our

sins pressed in past, present, and future. But it doesn't

He still says to you and I that we are

to go before him and requests forgiveness of sin. And

you say, why, Well, when Jesus saves us and he

adopts us into the family of God, right, we're his children, right,

and there's no sin that will lose that relationship we

have with the Lord because he's bought us with his blood,

He's cleansed us from.

All of our sins.

Right, But it doesn't mean that it doesn't hurt our relationship.

Right, I might Barbie's son, right, my dad.

There's times in my life that I did some things

against my father right that were wrong.

I had wrong attitude, wrong.

Whatever, And because of the things that I'd done against

my father created a relationship struggle distance between men and him.

Right now, there was nothing ever going to change that

I was his son, but there were some things that

I could do or he could do, to create distance

between men and him. The same thing with you and

the Lord. If you have a relationship with Jesus Christ,

you have scept him as the Lord and Savior. He

has bought you with the prize. He has adopted you

into the family of God, and you are a child

of God. Nothing will ever change that. But if you

have sinned daily, deliberate, in deliberate sin, it creates what

a relationship drift between you and the Lord. So why

do we go to the Lord daily for our sins.

It's because we want to make sure we restore daily

that right relationship with him.

You understand that we want that cleared.

The debt that we've may create, that we've made created

that's created a gap, right or a hindrance between.

Our relationship with him.

So we should go it's just, you know, I think

about this sometimes in our life. We go by times

and time, maybe days, maybe weeks without going to the

Lord and asking for forgiveness.

The other week.

As much as you know that, I'm doing some advanced

degrees at school and I write a lot, so I

write a lot of papers, and I have to go

get a lot of books from the library.

And so I went to the school and I.

Checked out some books, I think, like fifteen books or whatever,

and I get to keep them for like three months.

And I kept him for a while and a time

had gone by and I've forgotten that they had to

do date and the day do date expired and I

was late, well like fifteen books, you know. Every day

was going by and I was a crueing a debt.

So the library emailed me and said, hey, you've got

these books due. And I was like, oh, no, I forgot,

you know, I didn't even know. And I went online

and looked and I had accumulated this debt library debt

to these overdue books. But I tell you that story

because day after day I was accruing a debt and

I had no idea of.

What it was doing to me or what it was

going to cost me later.

I wonder for you and I, how often do we

do that with the Lord? We sin against him in

weeks and days and months go by, and we wonder

why it seems like the Lord seems like he's far

and our relationship with him is not where it needs

to be. And maybe that's simply it is where we

just not going to him and say, Lord, I know

you know this sin.

You know I did this, and God, I'll just what

I need you forgive me.

Well, I don't want this sin to hinder my relationship

with you, So Father, forgive me.

If you.

Very simply, when's the last time you just you went

to the Lord and said, God, I need you forgive

me of a sin. Sometimes we're guilty just to think, well,

he forgave us once and for all at the beginning.

I don't have to go to him daily, don't you know?

Don't you love that You're that your savior. Your father

loves you so much. He wants nothing to get into

way between you and him, and he longed for us

to come to him and say, Father, I need you,

but Father, I need forgiveness.

He is willing and able to forgive us of all

our sins. What if we confess our sins to you?

So what scripture says?

Right, he is faithful to forgive us of all our

sins if we confess our sins before him?

Would you do that? The next part of this prayer

is not only because of Jesus forgave us.

or temptation. It's easily to understand that this Jesus is

talked about being forgiven of sin. So he talked about, Okay,

we've been forgiven of the sin that we've committed against father,

against our father. Now we need to think about what

we can do to not do it again, not to

fall into sin again.

So Jesus says, how do we do that? Will we

pray again? Lord?

I need you again? The dependence of God in prayer. God,

I need you for provision. God, I need you for forgiveness.

And God, I need your power to be delivered from temptation.

There's a there's an understanding by Jesus that God has

the ability or the power to help you and I

to overcome to temptation. Scripture says that no temptation that's

come to us is not common to men, right, but he.

the temptation. Right, So therefore, what did the mom do?

She delivered the child from temptation.

I know I'll fall on weak or I need you

to lead me away. Now here's the problem with many

of us when it comes to sin. We think we're

You may be strong enough to go down to candy out,

but I can go down and it won't tempt me.

we do think many times, Lord, I can handle I

something in there appropriate on it, got it.

We're a lot like that child and the candle. We

will fall.

the last time that you just said to Lord Lord, Father,

I need you, Father, or I declare that there is

no one like you God.

There's nothing in my life like you. God and Lord,

I want your name to be holy. Lord.

I want your kingdom to come. I want all people

to know and Lord, I want you.

on this earth.

Will come when of you just declared, Lord, I I.

Really need you in my life. I need you to

provide for me. Lord. I really need you to give me. Lord,
