  1. Father. But how many people go into the room and

  2. we've got this prayer list. We've got this great, big

  3. one prayer list of things, and we go, okay, God,

  4. I'm ready. I'm going to bring you all the things

  5. that I've got to share with you today. And we

  6. start down our prayer list and then we get to

  7. the end and we think, Okay, time's gone. I've got

  8. to go now. And I'm sure the father's looking down

  9. at us going as he wants to speak back to us.

  10. And I want to encourage you. This is this is

  11. an encouragement. This is an all age or family service

  12. or nation service. I want to encourage every one of us.

  13. Do you make time to listen to the Father? Do

  14. you make time? Do you then take it? Sometimes our

  15. diaries are so full of stuff that we have to

  16. put stuff in our diary and say I'm going to

  17. make some time. You know, for example, when I get

  18. a very busy day, I have to put in my

  19. diary that I'm going to walk the dog. The dog

  20. gets walked every day, but in a busy day, suddenly

  21. it will get to the end of the day it

  22. will be done, and poor Teddy will be going, where's

  23. my walk, And I'm sure God's very much like that too.

  24. He's going, where's my time with you? Dave? And so

  25. when my day starts to fill up with appointments, I

  26. have to put in my diary a quiet time. I

  27. don't know whether you do that. I don't know whether

  28. you're diary orientated. Maybe you're just you just have a

  29. structure to your day and just say, okay, my quiet

  30. time is first thing in the morning. Well, what happens

  31. if you're going to be on a you know, you're

  32. going to be busy doing something, there's a prayer meeting

  33. going on. Maybe it doesn't work. I want to encourage

  34. you make time to spend time with the Father and

  35. in that time deliberately be quiet. So, Father, have you

  36. got something to say to me? Because I'm absolutely sure

  37. that when God speaks to us, it's creative, it's purposeful,

  38. It impacts us, it changes us. His word is living

  39. and effective. We know that. But that's not just the Bible.

  40. It's his voice speaking into our lives when he speaks.

  41. When you've had a prophetic word, there are people in

  42. this room who've walked with prophetic words. You've walked with

  43. the truth that God has given you, and you said,

  44. but God, said Keith Hazel, who's now gone to be

  45. with the Father. Part of the network we're part of.

  46. He was on a plane and he had he had

  47. prophetic words, and he was on a plane traveling. I

  48. think it was in India. He was traveling in India

  49. and one of the engines stopped working and everybody started panicking. Now,

  50. this plane had three engines, one at the back and

  51. two on the wings, had three engines. One of the

  52. engines stopped working, and everybody started panicking, and the pilot

  53. was coming over, it's okay with the plane has been

  54. designed to lose an engine. That's fine, We're okay. We

  55. will get to our destination, Keith going to his neighbor.

  56. We will get to our destination. And then the second

  57. engine stopped working. Now everybody's panicking. Even the pilot's going, well,

  58. I've never flown a plane with one engine. And Keith

  59. turned to the people around him he said, it's okay.

  60. I have unfulfilled prophecy in my life. There is stuff

  61. that God has promised he's going to do. It's been

  62. spoken over me, and it's yet to happen. This plane

  63. is not going to crash. There is no one is

  64. going to die. And he said that out the confidence

  65. of the fact that God had spoken to him. The

  66. plane landed. Eventually he got there and there was lots

  67. of rounds of applause, and that one or two people

  68. who hugged him and said, thank you Keith for sharing

  69. that with me, because he got to know it was

  70. it was a fairly small plane. If you, if God

  71. has spoken to you, that job is to be done.

  72. That job is to be fulfilled. That job is to

  73. be fulfilled by you. As I shared last week, you

  74. know there is not an alternative you or all alternative me.

  75. I shared the story about the youth group, and somebody said,

  76. they've seen me in another country. You are unique, just

  77. like snowflakes are unique, just like fingerprints are unique. You

  78. are unique. And the plan that God has for you

  79. is the plan for you, the plan for you. In

  80. Matthew chapter five, it says this, you are the salt

  81. of the earth, and you are the light of the world.

  82. You are the salt of the earth. But if the

  83. salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again?

  84. It is no longer good for anything except to be

  85. thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of

  86. the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.

  87. Neither do people put a light a lamp and put

  88. it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on the stand,

  89. and it gives light to everyone in the house. In

  90. the same way, let your light shine before others, that

  91. they may see your good deeds and glorify your father

  92. in heaven. You know, salt is about proximity. You can't

  93. have salt separate to food. You can't say, oh, salts

  94. sitting here and the food's here, and it's going to

  95. make the food taste better. One of the things you've

  96. got to do is you've got to put salt in

  97. You know, I understand, And I'm not a cook. Please

  98. don't ever, don't never ask me to cook anything. Julius

  99. nodding very vociferously there, you know, But I do know

  100. that if you want to salt something, maybe you want

  101. to bring the flavor out of the meat. You maybe

  102. you need to rub salt into it to bring the

  103. flavor out. You can't leave it on the side. Sometimes

  104. people forget to put salt in something and they realize, oh,

  105. I forgot to put the salt in you can taste

  106. it because the flavor hasn't come out. We need to

  107. be closer to one another to be able to rub

  108. up against one another. When you rub up against one another,

  109. you smell things, You get warmth coming from people. If

  110. you've ever been in a very very very very crowded train,

  111. maybe the underground in the winter, you know you're standing there,

  112. you can't even put your hands in your own pockets.

  113. You can put your hand in somebody else's pocket, but

  114. you can't put your hand in your own pocket. And

  115. you know, you start to smell a bit. You know,

  116. you think you can smell whether somebody's got oud color

  117. or something else. And you feel the warmth of other people.

  118. You can gen. You know, some people are hot people.

  119. Are you a hot person? You come and stand next

  120. to someone who's not a hot person, they say, oh,

  121. come and stand closer, I'll have some of your warmth.

  122. You know, there'll be some people here who've got two

  123. or three I was on the underground this week on Tuesday.

  124. It was and there was somebody who's sitting on the

  125. underground and they had a jumper on and a puffer

  126. coat on, and I was there in a single shit

  127. with my sleeves were rolled up. I was seeing God,

  128. it's hot in here. They're obviously from a different country,

  129. you know, they're obviously used to thirty five forty degrees

  130. and there's me quite comfortable at seventeen. You know, salt

  131. salts brings out flavor. We need to bring out the

  132. flavor in the world. There are good people in the

  133. world who just need to come alongside a Christian and

  134. see God at work and see God's hand at work.

  135. And when God's hands at work, there will be flavor

  136. brought out. And likewise light. What does it take to

  137. drive back the darkness? Just one light and anybody here

  138. fearful of the dark. I'm not going to pray about that.

  139. But we're not like that. It's a few people. It's

  140. one or two people who know, okay, But you know,

  141. if we are, we wonder what's in the dark, don't we,

  142. Because that's the thing fear. Do you know what gets

  143. rid of darkness? Turn the light on, guys, turn the

  144. light on. And one of the things that I honestly

  145. feel missionary is mission. Being a missionary is all about

  146. is taking light into a dark place. That place which

  147. was dark becomes less dark because someone is there holding

  148. a torch, someone is there lighting a candle. In Isaiah

  149. chapter six, I'm not going to read it today, but

  150. in the in the year King Usiah died, I saw

  151. the Lord sitting on a throne high and lifted up,

  152. and his robe filled to the temple. And he goes

  153. on to say in verse three, and he cried unto

  154. another and said, Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of hosts.

  155. The whole earth is full of his glory. If we

  156. just get a glimpse of God's glory. Do you know what?

  157. In worship this morning, I was in tears. I was

  158. just thinking, okay, little old r CFI and we've got

  159. a oh choir up the front, singing harmonies, beautiful harmonies,

  160. and I just imagine, Okay, let's turn that from four five,

  161. six to one hundred to one thousand. When angels worship

  162. with us, and then you start to hear a Welsh

  163. choir or whatever nationality choir you prefer, other other nationalities

  164. are available. You know, whatever, whatever you hear, just get

  165. lost in worship. Now I have I have sung alone,

  166. and I've sung with a choir. I'm saying that again

  167. I've sung alone, but I've sung with the choir no

  168. one else in the room, but I've sensed harmonies. I've

  169. sent others singing with me. They weren't in the room.

  170. That's just angels coming and joining in and not saying

  171. my worship was any special to anybody else's. And please,

  172. if you say, like some of my friends have said

  173. to me, Dave, I can't sing. Julie and I had

  174. some very good friends at at university. They used to

  175. sit behind us at church, and they love to worship,

  176. but they couldn't sing. And when I say couldn't sing,

  177. if you went la la, they couldn't tell you whether

  178. that was up or down. They couldn't tell you. But

  179. I'll tell you what. They love to worship, and God

  180. loved their worship, so they'd be going for it. And

  181. if you try to follow them, you get lost because

  182. they weren't going where you were going. They were singing

  183. the words, and they were singing them in the right time,

  184. but they weren't singing them in the right tune. But

  185. God loved their worship, and I loved sometimes sitting in

  186. front of them, as long as I managed to tune

  187. out to their tune. Our need to make a difference

  188. is that we need to be to see God and

  189. see God at work. Some people will tell you I

  190. don't know God, I don't know this God that you're

  191. talking about. I say, well, can I show you him?

  192. Can I pray? How can I pray for you? One

  193. of the most important things that we can do, and

  194. this is saltiness at work, is to say, can I

  195. pray for you? It was in the high street last week.

  196. I was chatting to someone. I just I had a

  197. bit of time, and I sat down on a bench

  198. next to somebody and then I realized I knew them,

  199. and I started talking and then they got up and

  200. went and somebody sat down on the bench next to me.

  201. I hadn't realized the person had changed. I carried on

  202. talking to them, and they turned to me and said,

  203. excuse me, are you talking to me? And I went, oh, sorry,

  204. And then we got into a conversation, so I thought, okay, God,

  205. you've done this nothing to do with me. Got into

  206. a conversation and they were talking about how they had

  207. a family member at home who wasn't well, and I said,

  208. I'm a Christian, would you mind if I prayed and

  209. they went, oh, please do And I am absolutely sure

  210. that they thought I meant I was going to go

  211. home and pray. And I grabbed hold of their hand.

  212. I said, I hope you don't mind, and I prayed.

  213. I don't know what God's done in that meantime, but

  214. Heaven touches Earth. When we pray, the Father responds to

  215. the persistent widow. The Father responds to you and to

  216. me when we pray. When we get into the throne

  217. room with God, when it's us and him and we're

  218. crying out to him, you know what stopped, you know?

  219. And I said to her, do you know God? You

  220. said not really. I said, well, let me pray and

  221. let's see what God will do. And I've left that

  222. in his hands. You know, one of the reasons we

  223. don't get into a room with God is because we're lazy.

  224. I'm lazy. I guess you might say you're lazy sometimes.

  225. You know, day gets too busy and we can't do

  226. stuff and we can't be bothered. You know, the Father's

  227. sitting there waiting to hear from you and me. One

  228. of the other things that stops us getting close to

  229. God is our sin. Have I sinned this week, Yes,

  230. anybody else. I'm not going to ask you to put

  231. your hands up, but think about it. And what I

  232. mean by sin is not just I don't even doing

  233. bad things. I mean doing things that God doesn't want

  234. us to do. And some of those things can be

  235. good things, good can be the enemy of God thinks.

  236. Sometimes we can do things and we think, oh, we're

  237. in a hurry. Anybody in a hurry today? Yeah, We're

  238. always in a hurry, aren't we. Yeah that was too quick, Juliet.

  239. That was too quick, Juliet. But do you know what?

  240. Our ability to see God and to see God at

  241. work lifts us up, encourages us, and I want to

  242. encourage you. If you are discouraged. Right now, I'm going

  243. to ask you to talk to God. And when I

  244. finish talking, I'm going to ask you to talk to

  245. God and say, Lord, would you just show me something

  246. of yourself? Would you show me something of your presence?

  247. Because our ability to see God is impacted by our sin,

  248. by our knowledge of who He is and where we

  249. expect to find him, we often don't reach out to

  250. God because that we feel we're in a place we

  251. shouldn't be in. We'll get out of that place. Then move,

  252. take a step, and there might be a mindset. Sometimes

  253. we're in a cycle of downward a downward spiral, and

  254. we're in a pity party and we say, oh God,

  255. where am I? Where are you? What does David say

  256. in some one hundred and thirty nine, if I go

  257. to the uttermost parts of the earth, even there, your

  258. hand will guide me. How far is uttermost? How far

  259. is uttermost? I think as at least around the globe?

  260. Once twice I watched a very interesting program of astronauts

  261. and they were talking about Sorry I was sorry not

  262. watched the program. The conference I was at this week,

  263. the key speaker was Tim Peak, and he said he

  264. saw the sunrise eight times in one day. When you're

  265. in the space station, you say good morning a lot

  266. of times, then, don't you. I mean, you see the

  267. sunrise as a glorious moment. You see God's creation, you

  268. see it at work. You see, he said, you see

  269. stars that you don't see from earth. He said, I

  270. don't know how any astronaut cannot be a Christian. Interesting point,

  271. interesting thought. I want to kind of pull this all

  272. together with the last scripture that's in the Mica. I

  273. want to talk about the Feeding of the five thousands,

  274. just briefly, so let me read it to you first. Matthew,

  275. Chapter fourteen, verses thirteen to twenty one. When Jesus heard

  276. what had happened, he withdrew with by boat privately to

  277. a solitary place. He went to a quiet place. Hearing

  278. of this, the crowds followed him on foot from the towns.

  279. Imagine how annoying that would be. When Jesus landed, he

  280. saw a large crowd. He had compassion on them and

  281. healed the sick. As evening approached, the disciples came to

  282. him and said, this is a remote place and it's

  283. getting late. Send the crowds away so they can get

  284. to the villages and buy themselves some food. Jesus replied,

  285. they do not need to go away. You give them

  286. something to eat. We only have five loads of bread

  287. and two fish, they answered. Bring them to me, he said,

  288. and he directed the people to sit down on the grass,

  289. Taking the five loads and two fish, and looking up

  290. to Heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loads. Then

  291. he gave it to the disciples, and the disciples gave

  292. it to the people they all ate and were satisfied,

  293. and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces

  294. that were left over. The number of those who ate

  295. was about five thousand men plus women and children. So

  296. when we say the feeding of the five thousand, it's

  297. a lot more than five thousands. I just want you

  298. to take three principles from this simple story. Because I

  299. used to have a bracelet. It's broken and worn out. Now.

  300. It used to say, WWJD, what would Jesus do? If

  301. you ever find yourself in a place where you're running out,

  302. You're running out of yourself, you're running out of time,

  303. you're running out of food, let me encourage you to

  304. do what Jesus did. Number one, Sit down, don't panic

  305. and rush around and try and do all the things

  306. you need to do. Sit and be still, as it

  307. says in some forty six verse ten, be still and

  308. know that I am God. Be still. Stop. And that's

  309. not just in the heart, that's not just with the body. Sit. Sit,

  310. if you need to sit on your hands, be still

  311. and know that I am God. Because there's a moment

  312. where you're saying, Lord, I can't do anymore, I can't

  313. do anymore. So I'm just going to hand this over

  314. to you. You hand it over to him. Be still.

  315. That's number one. Number two is give thanks, give thanks,

  316. Give thanks for what you have, give thanks for what

  317. you don't have. Be thankful in all things. More in

  318. your love this because we've talked about this before. Give

  319. thanks out all times, even when life is pretty bad.

  320. I was about to say a bad word, though I

  321. won't say a bad word. Life is is not good.

  322. But give thanks. Get your eyes off the things, get

  323. your eyes off the lack, onto the God who will provide.

  324. So number one, be still. Number two, give thanks. Number three,

  325. then disperse what you have, just distribute what you have.

  326. The fascinating thing is they started with five loaves and

  327. two fish, and yet there was many. Many baskets have leftovers.

  328. God is a god of plenty. God is a god

  329. of more than enough. I'm believing, not just in that

  330. basket this morning, there's going to be more than enough

  331. to pay for the wall and the offering that's going

  332. to be given for those who are giving online. Believing

  333. that that wall bill is covered. Juliet stepped out and

  334. face she said, the wall's come down. She said, I

  335. need to get it repaired for the safety of everything involved.

  336. We don't want anybody nipping in and causing trouble. So

  337. she got it sorted. Now it's God's bill. In my opinion,

  338. we felt, we felt, we felt that we should do that,

  339. which didn't feel we should wait, so crack on. There

  340. are times when God says, you've got to go back

  341. to him and say you'll build God. You're bill because

  342. you said. I'm not saying we should be crazy. But

  343. if God says, God says, and we need to stand

  344. on that word, and we need to walk in that goodness.

  345. We will see need at many times in our world.

  346. We will see need at many moments, perhaps due to hopelessness,

  347. sometimes due to selfishness, sometimes due to pride. But you

  348. know what we can give, and God is able to

  349. give more than we ask or imagine. So let me pray. Father,

  350. You're a god of more than enough. Lord, you own

  351. the cattle on a thousand hills. It says that in

  352. your word. And so Father, we look to the author

  353. and perfector of our faith, who sent his one and

  354. only son, as I talked about last week, to pay

  355. the price for you and me, to pay the price

  356. for our wrongdoing. To pray the price for our sinfulness,

  357. that we might have a unique relationship through Jesus, through

  358. Christ with the Father. And so Father, I pray Lord,

  359. you'd cause breakthrough today. I'm going to pray for a

  360. number of things, and I'm just going to ask people

  361. to stand as there's a number of things in my

  362. heart I want to pray for. I want to start

  363. with there's a number of people in the room and

  364. those listening online and those listening later where you need

  365. to see a change in circumstance, not something This is

  366. not something you can change. This is not something you

  367. can do anything about. This is not about you making

  368. a bad decision. You need to see a change in circumstance.

  369. One or two of you are praying for your bosses,

  370. and your bosses are giving you a really hard time.

  371. You can't get your boss dismissed. You can pray for them.

  372. Some of them will get promotions because of the prayers

  373. that happen today, but they won't be your boss anymore. So,

  374. if you need to see a change in circumstances, I

  375. am not talking about something you can do. I'm talking

  376. about something you can do nothing about. I'd ask you

  377. to stand I'm not going to ask you what it is.

  378. You can take that to the Father. You can bring

  379. it to the Father. But if you need a change

  380. in your circumstances, would you stand, because I'm going to

  381. pray that God changes circumstances. Those at home, those listening later,

  382. If that's you, please just stand. Just God, God sees

  383. there's an important thing where we go. Lord, it's me.

  384. It's me. I'm standing, and so Father, as we stand

  385. in your presence right now, Father, I pray for a

  386. change in atmosphere Father, where there is a shortage of

  387. funds in the company and the jobs at risk. Father,

  388. I pray that you'd call the bills to be paid

  389. on time. Father, I pray that you'd release funds and Lord,

  390. suddenly customers will be paying who haven't been paying. Father,

  391. I pray for a confidence in a future career. Lord,

  392. for those who are worried about jobs and job certainty,

  393. who are standing right now, For someone who's waiting for

  394. a diagnosis, and the diagnosis is all in the hands

  395. of the doctors. Father, I pray, Lord, you'd you'd shine

  396. a light on what needs to be done. Father, I

  397. pray that it will be very, very clear what needs

  398. to be done. Father, for reputational issues, for those who

  399. are standing, because reputation has come under question. Father, I

  400. pray that, Lord, God, you draw a line in the sands. Lord,

  401. you draw a line at the bottom of the page. Lord,

  402. you'd sign it off and say enough's enough. Let's move

  403. on into the next chapter. Father, I pray for closure

  404. for some of those people, and for all the other things. Father,

  405. I bring them to you and say, Lord, would your

  406. hand be at work? Would your hand be at work?

  407. We pray in Jesus' name. Move circumstances, move people, move,

  408. situationis complete paperwork. Lord, let that which was lost be found.

  409. We pray in Jesus' name. Amen. So if you just

  410. want to take your seats, there's two more things I

  411. want to pray about. I want to pray for those

  412. who are wrestling with a friend or a close family

  413. member who has a long term health problem, and you're

  414. carrying the burden of caring for them, worrying about them.

  415. If that's you, would you stand Because there is something

  416. that we do as care is there's something we do

  417. which becomes very, very burdensome if we're not careful and

  418. we can't do anything about the health of this friend

  419. or this family member. But we carry all the junk,

  420. the stuff, and I want to pray that. I want

  421. to pray, as it says, his burden is light, I

  422. pray that his You are carrying your friends worry, but

  423. I want you to take it to the foot of

  424. the cross today. So Father, we stand in your present,

  425. Lord God, worried about our friends, worry about our family members,

  426. Lord God, and we carry all that worry. Father, I

  427. pray you'd help us to leave it at the foot

  428. of the cross right now. Lord. It's not that we

  429. don't care, but Lord, we have to place it in

  430. your hands. And we say, Lord, would you take our worry?

  431. Would you take our concern? Would you take our caring,

  432. Lord God, and help us in that tireless giving to others. Father,

  433. I pray that you'd lift that burden office as we

  434. stand or Father, I pray you'd take it from us,

  435. and Lord it would stay nailed to the cross. But Father, too,

  436. I pray for the healing of those that we are

  437. caring for. I pray for the mental breakthrough for those

  438. who need a different mindset, Father, for those who are

  439. dealing with parkins AND's for those who are dealing with Alzheimer's,

  440. for those who are dealing with mind battles. Father, I

  441. pray right now in Jesus' name, Lord, you bring freedom

  442. and liberty. Lord, you'd reposition story, you'd reposition yourself in

  443. light of where they are. Let them see you. We

  444. pray in Jesus' name, and Father, I pray that our

  445. walk would be a skip and a step in your

  446. name Jesus name. Amen. How if you just want to

  447. sit down and the final one, then just want to

  448. pray for those who have a sense of hopelessness right now.

  449. I'm not going to ask you what that's about. It

  450. might just be in one very specific area. It might

  451. be one area where you've given up and I'm going

  452. to ask you to stand again. I know it might

  453. be difficult, but I'm going to ask you if you

  454. if you if you have lost hope over a circle.

  455. It might be a prophetic word being fulfilled. It might

  456. be someone that you desperately want to see saved, but

  457. you are in a place of hope less ness. I

  458. sense the Father wants to download hope to you today.

  459. So if that's you, would you stand. I'm not going

  460. to ask you what it is, you know what area

  461. that's in You lift that to the Father because his

  462. word is powerful and effective, and he's able to do

  463. immeasurably more than we ask or imagine. So, Father God,

  464. I pray, Lord God, that you would release fresh hope

  465. to those who are standing. Father, I pray you'd release

  466. hope right now, a bundle of hope, a bucket full

  467. of hope, no, a ton of hope. Lord God, Lord,

  468. would you release hope nor not just into the situation,

  469. but through our brothers and sisters. Lord, that they would

  470. not only sense your hope and your presence, but be

  471. able to share that with others. Father, I pray for

  472. an atmospheric change of hope in Jesus Mighty name. Amen. Amen,
