you glory God, on seeing how we can please you, Lord,

thank you for just the craziness that twenty twenty five

is almost coming to an end, Lord, and we get

to enter into this fall season and all the new

things that we'll be doing and leading into Thanksgiving and

Christmas and the Lord, we're we're just excited for what

you're doing here. And so God, I pray that as

we bless you, Lord, God, we just thank you for

Well. It's good to be with you. I'm glad you're

with us this morning. If you have your bible's turning

with me to John chapter six, the Gospel of John

chapter six. This morning, this morning, I ask you the

table till we had the table out before today, where

we'll get the joy of having the Lord Supper together

as a body of believers. And so I'm excited about

that today we're coming to John chapter six, and I

want to look In John chapter six, Jesus says I

am the Bread of Heaven, and so this morning I

want to look at what that means in correlation to

the Lord's Supper. You ever, I don't know if you've

been recently to a lot of the kind of stores

we have, big stores Walmart, other stores, Sam's, you know,

that's one of my favorites. Have you ever been to

one of those stores lately? And you kind of kind

of making your way through the store and suddenly you

see someone approaching you, and there you could tell like, oh,

I think this may be a salesman, all right, And

they come to you and you're like, don't make eye

contact with them. If you make eye contact with them,

they're going to ask you a question. And so you

try to but then they kind of sleep and sneak

their way to you, and they they'll come up and say, hey, sir,

how are you doing? And they kind of start with

some very nice, pleasant trees, you know, trying to find

out how you're doing, and then they hit you with

it who's your stuff on provider? With how much you

pay month? You know, or who's your internet provider with

how much do you pay him a month? Or do

you get water at your house? How much water do

you drink? I mean, why are you asking how much

water I drink? Does it really matter? And then they'll say,

you know, if you drink certain amount of water, we

can save you a lot of money by having a

water cool deliver to your house and you can get

up free. And it's only you know, ten dollars down today,

and then they you know, then you realize very quickly

the pleasantries, hey, how are you doing? Really, they really

didn't really care so much about you. They really only

sought you because what do they want. They wanted you

to sign up for something. They wanted you to sign

up for a service. As we come to this passage

of scripture this morning, in John chapter six, Jesus recognizes

as that there are those who are seeking him, and

really what they're seeking for him is not to know Jesus.

They really seek him for what they can get from Jesus.

It's John chapter six. The beginning of John chapter six

is the feeding of five thousand Jesus as he's on

the Sea of Tiberius. There and a large crowd gathers

around and there he takes you know, five lows and

two fish, and he feeds five thousand people. The next morning,

he and disciples they get into a boat and they

go across the sea into the across the sea Galilee

to Capernaum and there the next morning, as those five

thousand get up and they realize Jesus is not there,

they pursue him. They're pursue him across the sea. And

as we come to this passage of scripture, they're they're

seeking Jesus. He's he fed them the night before, He's

went across the sea. They sought him, and Jesus as

they find him, he confronts why they are seeking him,

and he really shows us today how we should seek him.

I wonder today as we think about Jesus confronting and

they're those who are seeking Jesus only for what they

can get from Jesus. Really, and Jesus is going to

show us how we should seek Immus. A question for

you and I today, as we come to the Lord's table,

or as we come to worship today, how do you

seek Jesus? Maybe another question is why do you seek Jesus?

Why do you have a relationship why do you seek

a relationship with him? Today? I think it's very important

as we think about Christ and what Christ has done

for us, and what Christ has provided for us, as

we think about the bread, the body, and the blood

that was poured out for us, as we examine our

own hearts and say, today, Lord, why do I seek you?

And how am I seeking you? Is it really for

me to get something that I want in this life?

Our Lord?

Do I really just want you? Today? Let's read God's

word together. We're going to start in verse twenty four

of John chapter six, Verse twenty four. Will you stand

with me, Let's read God's word together. It says so

when the crowds saw that Jesus was not there, nor

his disciples, they themselves got into boats, and they went

to Capernaum seeking Jesus. And when they found him on

the other side of the sea, they said to Jesus, Rabbi,

when did you come here? And Jesus answered him, truly, truly,

I say to you, who you are seeking me? Not

because of because you saw signs, but because you ate

your fill of the loaves. Do not labor for food

that perishes, but the for food, but for the food

that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Men

will give you. And on him God, the Father, has

set his seal. Then they said to him, what must

we do to be doing the work of God. And

Jesus answered, this is the work of God that you

believe in him and who he has sent. So they

said to him, then, what sign do you do that

we may see in believe in you? And what work

do you do do you perform? Our fathers ate manna

in the wilderness. As it's written. He gave them bread

from heaven to eat. And Jesus said to them, truly, truly,

I say to you, it's not Moses who gave you

the bread from heaven, but the Father who gives you

the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God

is he who comes down from heaven and gives life

to the world. And they said to him, Sir, give

us this bread always. And Jesus said to him, said

to them, I am the bread of life. Whoever comes

to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me

shall never thirst. But I said to you that you

have seen me, yet do not believe all the Father

gives me will come to me. And whoever comes to me,

I will never cast out, for I've come down from

heaven not to do my own will, but the will

of him who sent me. And this is the will

of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing

that he has given me, but raise it up on

the last day. For this is the will of my Father.

That everyone listen to this, who looks on the Son

and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I

will raise him up on that last day. Let's pray together, Father,

We thank you Lord for today. Lord. We thank you

Lord that today as we come to this place, as

we seek you, Lord and Spirit and the truth. God,

you know our motives. God, you know why we seek you.

If we seek you for the temporal things and the

temporal satisfaction of this world. But or God, we seek

you because we want to know you. We seek you, Lord,

our satisfaction, our fulfillment in you. Say, Lord, I pray

today that you would, Lord, you'd use your Holy Spirit

to prod our hearts, that our hearts would be exposed

Lord before you and God, you would lead us to

love you, to seek you and nothing else, Lord, to

find spiritual nourishment in you. Lord, We love you. We

thank you, Lord. You are the bread of heaven that

came sent by the Father that you might die for

us and that we can have a right relationship with you. Lord.

Lead us Lord today, and your name we pray. I

mean you may be seated. So how do we seek Jesus.

Jesus kind of first starts out in this passage on

what not to do or how not to seek. He says, first,

don't seek Jesus for temporal nourishment. So it comes to

this pastor of scripture. As I said, they just the

day before.

You have to.

Understand that Jesus has just what He's just fed them.

He fed them a meal on the mountain. It was

a meal of bread and fish. Right. And so the

next morning they get up, they can't find Jesus. What

it's morning, So guess what. They're hungry again, And so

they can't find Jesus, and so they get in the boat.

They realize he's going to the other side. They go

to him, and they come to him and they say

to him, what, Jesus, Jesus, how did you get here?

How long have you been gone? Jesus doesn't answer their question.

Jesus goes in to revealed the motives of their hearts.

And look at what he says in this passage of scripture.

In verse thirty two, Jesus says, he says to them, truly, truly, surely, shirley,

or this is true. The truly truly is emphatic of

saying this is this is true? What is true? I

say to you? It was not Moses. Yeah, I went back,

I went down too far. Verse twenty six, he says

that truly, truly, I say to you, you are seeking

me not because you saw signs, but because you ain't

your fell.

Of the loaves.

Jesus says, you know what you come, and you're seeking

me this morning. And the reason why you're seeking me

it's not because I did a miracle and I fied

five thousand people. The reason why you're coming to me

is because you're hungry, and I fed you the night before,

and you want me, as you come to me, to

do the miraculous again and give you a free food,

give you another free What you're seeking today is not

a relationship. You're not seeking me, the man of God,

the one who does the miracle. You're seeking the temporal.

You want another meal and listen to what he says. Therefore,

he responds by saying, listen, do not labor for the

food that perishes, but the food that endures to internal life.

He's saying, listen, don't seek the temporal food of this world.

Don't seek the temporal things.

Of this world.

What seek what the eternal? They wanted food, They only

wanted Jesus for what Jesus could provide for them, and

that was a free meal, you know, for Jesus. He

recognizes that as he confronts them, what you're really seeking. Listen,

you're not really seeking me. You're just seeking me because

you think I'm your free ticket to what you really want.

And what you really want is the temporal things of

this world. It's kind of like I said, just like

that salesman. The only reason they want to maybe talk

to us is maybe that we can might sign up

for something. And Jesus is saying, you're only coming after me,

You're only seeking me because you think you might can

get something from me. You recognize this morning, that's a

temptation for us. All, the temptation for us all is

to seek Jesus, only for him to be our genie.

In the bottle that we can rub and get him

to provide something for we want in this world. Temp

something that many times is temporal for athletes, how many

times before a game? God, help me win this game?

Or for our students, Lord, I got a big test

this week, Gotta, I really need you, Or are those

who work in the work for Lord. I've got a

big project at work and I really need you to

help me get through this this project. Or Lord, you

know my health is really declining right now and I've

got this big, big, big thing that's coming up. Lord,

I really need your help with this. Or Lord, my

finance is really kind of getting out of order. God,

I really need your help with this. Listen to me,

and don't misunderstand. I'm not saying that you and I

should not seek God for everything in over all the

needs of our life. Jesus says, Cash, your cares upon him,

because He cares for you. Jesus says in Matthew, asking

will be given to you. Seek and you will find,

knock and it will be given to you. The thing

that I think is the problem is is the only

time we come to Jesus is when we need something.

We go in Lord and prayer a few times a week,

and the only time we go to the Lord of Prayer,

or the only time we go to church is when

we need something. But the rest of the days of

the week, or the rest of the time and the

hours of the day, we're not seeking Him for the

needs of our life. We're only seeking Him to get

something for our life. No, no, no, yes, we should

seek God for all the needs of our life. But

we should seek God every day, every moment, every our Lord.

I need you, not just I need you when I've

got an issue that I need you to fix. God,

you see that. But listen, there's a temptation for all

of us. And I think it's important as we come

to this passage of Scripture that there's a temptation for

all of us aught to seek Jesus just for the temporal.

And Jesus is saying in this passage of Scripture, the

temporal things that you come after me with will never satisfy.

They won't satisfy. Can I tell you? In this passage

of Scripture, there's not only this temptation that we only

come to Jesus for the temporal things of this life,

but there's also this temptation to think, listen to this,

that the temporal things in this life is what will

satisfy us. See that. See they come to Jesus, and

Jesus says that you're coming from me, not just because

I did the miracle. You're coming to me because you

want bread. And that's a problem that you only seek

me for the temporal. But the other problem is that

you think the temporal things of me giving you another

meal is going to satisfy your heart. It's going to

satisfy the nourishment and the longing of your heart. Can

I tell you this is a temptation for us all?

And you know how we know that because in the Bible,

in Matthew chapter four, Jesus is being tempted before he

begins his ministry. You remember that he goes into the

wilderness and he's tempted for forty days and forty nine.

Scripture tells us he fastened his forty days and Satan

temps Jesus three different ways. You remember the first thing

he tips Jesus with. Scripture says in Matthew chapter four

that Jesus went away in the wilderness. He's been tempted,

and he was fasting, and Scripture says he was hungry,

and Satan came to Jesus, and his first temptation for

Jesus is what, hey, Jesus, you see these stones. Why

won't you turn these stones into bread and eat? What

is the understanding he understood? Then? What is he tempted?

To use your miracle power, Jesus, to transform the stones

in their bread? And you could be satisfied what by eating?

It's finding nourishment in the temporal things of this world

instead of what, Instead of finding nourishment in obeying the

will of the Father, find your happiness, find your fulfillment,

find your satisfaction, Jesus, in the things of this world.

And what Jesus said in that moment, he quoted Deuteronomy ate,

and he says, man shall not what live by bread alone,

but by every word that comes from the Father. Do

you know actually what Jesus is quoting. There is Deuteronomy

chapter eight, And Deuteronomy chapter eight is talking about Mana

that God sent from heaven. And this is what it says.

And he humble to you and let you hunger and

feed and fed you with mana which you did not

know or did not fathers know that he might make

you know that man does not live by bread alone,

but man lives by every word that comes from the

mouth of the Lord. You know what the instructions were

for Mana many many years ago under Moses. Is that

Mana has helped you to realize every day you need

new Manna. Why because Mana will never ever satisfy. What

will satisfy the longing of your heart? Only the voice

and the mouth and the word of the Lord. Today, listen,

we are not to seek. Listen, we are not to

seek nourishment in our soul or in our life. Are

satisfaction or fulfillment, or whatever you want to describe it,

We are not to find it in the temporal things

of this world. The things of this world will never ever, ever,

ever satisfy the longings of your heart. What will satisfy

your heart only Jesus, only Jesus, And we should not

seek Jesus for the things in this life that will

not satisfy our hearts. Ask you today, how are you

seeking Jesus? Are you coming to Jesus? The only time

you come to Jesus is last week. The only time

you prayed last week is for something that you want

him to fix. I challenge you maybe next week, say Jesus,

I'm going to spend some time in prayer and God,

I'm not going to ask you for one thing. God,

I just want to be with you, just want to

talk with you. And the motives of my prayer is

I want you Lord, not you in order that you

might fix something here. God, I just want you. May

we do not seek Jesus for the temporal things. Secondly,

may we realize that things of this world are never

satisfied in the lungs of our heart only Jesus. Secondly,

in this passage how to seek Jesus. Secondly, we are

to seek Jesus for spiritual nourishment. Jesus recognizes that they

are seeking satisfaction, fulfillment, and the temporal things in this world,

and they're only seeking him for those things. So in

verse thirty two, he gives them what will satisfy their heart.

I love that song we sing. What will satisfy my soul?

Jesus shows them what will satisfy their soul. He says

in verse thirty two, Truly, truly, I say to you,

it was not who gave you the bread from heaven.

But my father gives you the true bread. Who's the

true bread. True bread is Jesus from heaven. For the

bread of God is he who comes down from heaven

and gives to the world. And they said to him, Sir,

give us this bread. Always look at what Jesus said.

Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life.

And whoever comes to me listenings shall not hunger, and

whoever believes in me shall not shall never thirst. What

is he saying? If you eat bread from this world,

are you consumed the temporal things in this world? You're

still gonna be hungry? Right the other day, I told

our Wednesday Night crowd and my birthday, and you get

these free birthday things last month, and I got a

coupon for three three donuts, and all of the months

of September, all I thought about was when I was

going to go to a chrisphy Kreme and get those donuts.

And so last week I was running the air and

I was there on Hillsboro Street, and it reminded me

of my mind that this seven o'clock and the red

lights normally own at seven o'clock. So I left that

park store and I headed straight to the Krispy Kreme.

I went there two weeks before and their machine down

was down, and I had weeping and gnashing the teeth

right there in the parking lot. And so I went

in and I got to the drive through, and the

first question I asked, was this machine working? And they

said the machine was working, but it was only gonna

work for just a little bit longer. I said, well,

I got three free donuts. That's all I cared about.

So I got my free through donuts, and I ate.

I ain't gonna tell me. I ate on the way home.

But some didn't make it back. But you know what,

as good as those hot Krispy Kreme donuts were, I

still like to have some more. As good as they were,

it didn't satisfy, right. I still would like to eat

more in the future. And that's what happens with us.

So we may have a craving for something in this

life and we'll get it and we'll consume it, but

it doesn't satisfy, right. We have a longing for more

and more Christophy Kreme donuts, or more relationships, or more things,

or more money, whatever it may be, it doesn't satisfy

Jesus says, Listen, you have cravings, you have desires, or

you think, if if I can just do well in

that game, or if I just do well on this exam,

or I just do well at work, or if I

could just get my relationships in order, if I could

just get my finances in order, if I could just

get my flour of one k in the right place,

or if I can just get this house that I want,

a car that I want, whatever it is, I'll be okay,

I'll be satisfied. And you know as well as I do.

We'll get whatever we think. We must have to be satisfied.

And when we get it, guess what we have a

longing for something else? And Jesus says, if you have me,

If you have me, I am the true Manna sent

from God from heaven. And if you eat of me,

if you believe in me, if you find your nourishment

in me, you will never hunger or thirst again. I

will satisfy the longings of your heart. Listen, seek me,

and why do you want me? Seek me? That I

might fulfill you. I might satisfy your heart a love.

There's so many passages of scriptures, some one of seven

nine says, he satisfies the longing of the soul, and

the hungry soul he fills with good things Psalm forty

two one through two. As the deer pants for flowing

strolls streams, So my soul for you, Oh God, my

soul thirst for God, the Living God. I ask you today,

where are you finding nourishment? Where what are you feeding on?

Are you coming to Jesus and recognizing Jesus, you are

all I need? God? You will satisfy the longings of

my heart. There's many different things in this world that

try to satisfy me, but there are nothing that satisfy

me like you, Jesus. You're all I need.

You're all I need.

Jesus.

Do you see, lastly, in this passage of scripture, how

do we seek Jesus. Don't seek Jesus for temporal nourishment,

seek Jesus for spiritual nourishment, but lastly, seek Jesus for

eternal life. You know in this passage of scripture that

what happens in this passage is that come to Jesus.

Jesus tells them that you're seeking the bread from heaven.

But believe in me, receive me and you'll find spiritual nourishment.

And then they say, okay, how do we do that?

We do this by believing in you, by doing your work? Well,

how do we do your work? And Jesus says you

you do my work by believing in me. And they say, okay,

you want us believe in you. I tell you what?

Do a miracle?

And that's something.

He just did a miracle the night before by feeding

the five thousand, and they asked for another one, and

they said, I'll tell you what. If you want us

to believe in you and then we might find spiritual,

the true bread in you, then do a miracle. And

I tell you what. I tell you what miracle to do?

You know when Moses and the people were were in

the wilderness, you know that Moses provided manna from heaven.

I tell you what, Jesus, if you really want us

to believe in you, why don't you do another miracle

for us? And why don't you provide us mana? And

Jesus and what are they looking for? They're looking for

temporal nourishment. And Jesus says to them, your father's got

manna from heaven. But it didn't satisfy them, and Furthermore,

they died. You see, they ate the mana, but it

didn't provide life for them. Actually, they died. And if

I give you manna from heaven, it's not going to

satisfy the nurse your heart. But it also is not

going to provide you eternal life. Instead, what you receive

me and believe in me, and not only would I

feed your soul. But listen, if you receive me, I'll

give you what your fathers didn't get in the wilderness.

With the manna. I'll give you what eternal life. So

seek me that I might give you eternal life. Read

what the Pastage says. How Jesus says this in verse

thirty six, He says, but you said, I say to

you that you have seen me. Yet you do not believe.

Although the Father gives to me, I will come, and

whoever comes to me, I will never cast out. For

I've come down from heaven not to do my own will,

but the will of the one who sent me. And

this is the will of him who sent me. That

I should lose nothing out of all that he gives me,

but he will raise it up on the last day.

For this is the will of my father. That everyone

who looks on the Son and believes in him shall

should have eternal life, and I will raise him up

on the last day. They're wanting the temporal things. What

Jesus wants to give them. He wants to give them

spiritual nourishment, but furthermore, he wants to give them eternal life.

It's so interesting, isn't it that these Pharisees are so

focused on the temple. Jesus is like, hey, believe in me,

and I'll give you spiritual nourishment for the rest of

your life. You'll never hunger thirst. And they're like, hey,

we really want some man, and we really like a

good breakfast. He's like, hey, believe in me and you

won't die like your father's And they're like, we still

want the temporal you see, for Jesus, I think it's

so important as we look at this passage scripture. Jesus

wants you to seek him for spiritual nourishment that will

last for your life, but also he wants you to

seek spiritual seek him for eternal life. Because the truth is, listen,

we live in temporal bodies and this life is temporal.

Today all of us, there's one thing that's certain for

all of us. We are all going to die. You

know that, every one of you, every one of us

in this room, everyone watching online today, you are going

to die. Now, think about that. Is that is a

problem for all of us. How you're going to solve it?

Is that having more money? Is that having more things?

Is it eating more Christphy cream donuts? No, is it

any of these things. Temporal solutions are temporal things that

we can seek ever in this life. Will that solve

the problem of our eternity that we are going to die?

And the reality is nothing that we consume of the

temporal things in this life, whether it's money, food, relationships, whatever,

nothing will satisfy the ultimate destinony that we will all die.

But Jesus knows that we have a problem.

Not only do we have a problem that we want

satisfaction in the temporal things in this life, but we

have a problem that we want to solve our death

problem with trying to fill our life in consuming more

and more things of this life that will never ever,

ever answer the issue of our ultimate death. But Jesus says,

I provide you the bread of life, the bread from

Heaven that God sent me from Heaven, that would live

and die on the cross, that you might take of

me and you might find a satisfaction of your soul.

But you might take of me, and I will provide

you eternal life. This life is but a vapor, Scripture says.

But in eternity, Scripture says, and second Peter three. But

don't overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord,

one day is a thousand years, and a thousand years

is a day. The average life span of some and

here on this earth is seventy eight years compared that

to a thousand years. And Scripture says, we'll live thousands

upon thousands of years in eternity, and Jesus wants to

give you eternal life. You today, what do you seek?

How do you seek Jesus? Do you seek Jesus for

your satisfaction, for your spiritual nourishment? Or do you seek

Jesus only provide you for the temporal things of this

world that will never satisfy. Do you seek Jesus for

eternal life? Jesus lived and died on the cross. He

came from heaven that he might live and die, that

he might give you eternal life, and that you will

never thirst or hunger, but also that you would never die.

Why because he loves you. I love the imagery of

this passage scripture.

He knows one thing right. They're hungry. They're hungry, and

for Jesus, what does he want?

He wants to be the bread sent from heaven that

satisfies their souls. He wants to be the bread of

heaven that satisfies their need for salvation. Listen, can I

tell you today Jesus loves you, and Jesus knows that

you're hungry and that you can try to find your

satisfaction of things in this world. But he wants to

be what satisfies you today. He wants to be your

spiritual nourishment. Today, he wants to save you. Can you

say today, as we take the Lord's Supper, I think

as beautiful as we come to the lord Supper today

and we recognize as the bread that was broken for us,

as we recognize the blood that was poured out for us,

that we declare, Lord, you are what satisfies my soul. God,

you are the one who saved me.

And gave me eternal life.

And as we take of the cup and we the bread,

we declare God you satisfy my heart if you pray

with me. Lord, I thank you Lord for this morning.

I thank you Lord for this service. And Lord, I

thank you that today, as we remember the body that

was broken for us, we remember that God You were

the bread of Heaven sent down from the Father. Lord,

that we would never thirst again, we would never hunger again,

that God you would satisfy the longings of our soul.

Lord.

I pray for those that are here today who say

Lord today. Maybe they spend some time today before we

take the Lord's Supper to confess. Lord. Today, I've been

trying to find my satisfaction, my fulfillment, and all kinds

of things in this world. And today, Lord, I pray

they be those who say, Lord today, I'm empty because

I've tried to find my satisfaction in the wrong place. Lord,

I pray they be those who say, Father today, Lord,

I want you, Jesus. Lord, I believe that you came

from heaven for me, that you might satisfy the longing

of my soul. Lord, or today I want you Jesus.

I'd pray they'd be those the law cross this room

would make that their prayer. Only you Jesus is what

I want today and whether you fixing him my problems

or make my life better, Lord, I only want you.

I pray it'd be those today, say, Lord, I thank

you today that not all you came to satisfy the

longing of my soul, but God, you came that you

might or give me eternal life, forgiveness of sins and

eternal life. I pray it be those today that would

confess their sins before you, Father, and today they would

spends time thanking you God for the provisions of salvation,

the provision of eternal life that was given through the

Bread of Heaven.

Lord.

We love you today. God, thank you Lord that you

know our motives. God, you know when we seek you wrongly. Lord,

I pray that we would seek you today why you

may be found. And God, we celebrate what you've done

for us in communion and your name. We pray. Amen.

All right, So our deacons that come forward and never

lead us in the time of the Lord's supperten a.

Scripture tells us that it was the night of the Passover,

and Jesus gathered his disciples together, and he took the bread,

and he broke it, and he says, this is my

body was broken for you. As often as you eat,

do this and the remembrance of me. You know, you

wonder in the minds of those disciples who were there

when Jesus declared, I am the Bread sent from heaven.

And as they heard those words, and in the few

days to come, as they took that Jesus and that

body which he said, which is for you, and they

saw that body that was beaten, that was beaten with

the rods and the staff and all those different things,

and that body that hung on the cross. Must they

remembered that it was his body sent from heaven that

came to satisfy my soul. And Lord, there's nothing like you, Jesus.

There's nothing in this world that ever satisfies like you, Jesus.

Yet you gave your body for me to satisfy my soul. Today,

as we take the body that was broken for our sins,

may we declare today, Lord you or what satisfies my soul?

Will you pray about every I cluse, will you say

today I believe Jesus, that you died for me. You're

broken for me.

Today I recognize Lord you, or what satisfies my soul, Rick, would.

You pray over the bread? He took the bread. He says,

this is my body, which is for you.

Do this in remembrance of me.

And and.

The look of the.

Don't them.

Recently our Bible city, we've been reading Leviticus, and if

you read Leviticus, it's just chapter, chapter after chapter about sacrifice.

If you do this, you give this sacrifice. And one

of the things that Leviticus teaches us is that because

of sin, something must die. Because of our sin. It's

basically what every chapters teaching you. Because you sin against

the Holy God, something must die in order to pay

the penalty of your sin. But you know, if you

think about Leviticus and you think about what happened in

the New Testament. In the Old Testament, year after year

they sacrifice. It never provided one sacrifice that would pay

for the penalty of sin for the life of the individual, right,

just perpetually, every year, every just time after time, right,

a sacrifice must be given. And so thousands upon thousands

of animals or sacrifice to atone for the sin of

those who had I mean for the tone for the

sin of the individuals. As we come to the passage,

this morning, we remember that Jesus was the blood that

was pour out for us. Jesus was the bread from heaven,

sent by God here to live and die, and he

died on the cross that his blood would be poured out.

Why that his sacrifice, once and for all, would pay

for the sin and the atone for the sin of

all mankind, once and for all. It's not year after year,

but he paid the price to atone for all of

your sins. Listen, they would nothing ever satisfy. Listen, your

guilt and your shame and your sin. There was only

one thing. There was only one sacrifice that was given

once and for all who would satisfy your sin debt

that you might have eternal life. And that was the

man Jesus. His blood was poured out to satisfy your sin.

That so today as we take the cup, we remembered, God,

you died that I might be forgiven my sin. The

consequences of my sin is death. That God, you paid

the price for my sin that I might have life

and eternal life in you. Jesus, thank you for forgiving

my sin. Would you pray that everybodyvery I close, would

you just recognize today God, my sin there's consequences for

my sin, and that's death. But God, you paid the

penalty for my sin that I might be cleansed to

my sin and I woul might have eternal life in you. Jesus,

Thank you for being my sacrifice. Thank you for atoning

my sin. Jesus.

Man. Scripture says that night he took the cup after

supper and he said, this cup is the new covenant

in my blood. Do this as often as drink and

remembrance of me. M okay, let's pray together. Father. We

thank you Lord for the time of her room remembrance

today where we remember Lord, the body and the blood

that was poured out for us. Lord, May we continually

this week seek you, and Lord, we seek you, Lord,

to be our spiritual nursement, to find our satisfaction in you.

This week are fulfillment in you in a relationship with you, Jesus. Lord,

we thank you Lord for the reminders Lord of how

you came to be our satisfaction, how you came to

provide nourishment for us not only nourishment in this life,

but Lord in the life to come. Lord, thank you,

Lord for your sacrifice for us. In your name, we

pray Amen. We ask our ushers to make their way

up and we're going to take up the offering as

they do that. There's different ways you can give, and

you'll see that on the screen. One of the things

that we're doing today is we're starting a new kind

of pledge. We're doing a fundraiser, a gain if you will,

or a love offering, for that's the word for North

Carolina Badness on Mission. If many of you know, it's

about a year ago that Helen came through western North

Carolina and ravaged the western part of our state. And

there are so much work to be done. There are

so many people that our houses are being built, and

I tell you that God is using they are Baptist

community that we're a part of a Southern Baptist convention

in North Carolina Baptists to rebuild homes in North Carolina.

But there's still a lot of work to be done.

There's thousands of homes still to be rebuilt. So as

you give to North Carolina Mission Offering, you're giving to

help rebuild houses and do rebuild work, not only North

Carolina but all over the world. And so this is

a video that's going to talk about that. So I

pray that you'll give your tithes this morning, and you

could do that by different ways. But also I ask

you to pray in the coming weeks to give a

little something. It could be five dollars, whatever it may be,

small or as big as you would like, but give

to Baptist omission that we might continue to reach people

for the Gospel. And so as they take up the offering,

watch this video about what's happened in what we're doing

as North Carolina Baptists in western North Carolina.

All right.

One year ago, North Carolina was hit with one of

the most damaging and deadly storms on record as Hurricane

Helene roared across the western part of the state. An

unprecedented storm requires an unprecedented response, and God calls us

to expect great things from Him and attempt great things

for him. No, and with eighteen recovery and feeding sites

in operation, volunteers worked NonStop meeting the needs of people

whose lives had been torn apart by rising rivers, flooding, tornadoes,

and acid power outages, while chainsaw and mud out teams

worked on homes. Feeding units provided up to forty thousand

hot meals a day wherever food was hard to come by.

Every aspect of disaster response, every ministry was utilized. In

the weeks that followed, we quickly moved into rebuilding homes

damaged by the floodwaters. Teams from North Carolina as well

as other states have spent thousands of hours getting over

five hundred families back in their homes. Even as we

continue that rebuild process, we're beginning the next phase as

we build new homes for families who've lost everything in

the midst of trauma and disasters. People remember what you

do for them. I remember after one disaster, we were

set up in a town that had been devastated, and

a lady came up to me and she said, can

volunteers help my homes been flooded? Can they do mudouts

and tearouts? And we said sure, just go up to

the church and sign up so we'll have permission to

go in your homes. Said over down a block, over

a block, you can't miss the church, and I'll never

forget what she said. She said I've lived in this

town all my life, and I didn't know there was

a Baptist church here. That afternoon, volunteers were in her

house doing mud outs and tear outs and talking with

her and praying with her and just caring about her.

And I thought to myself, she'll never forget that there's

a Baptist church and where it's located. More important than that,

she'll never forget that Christians cared about her. And more

important than that, she'll never forget that God cares about her.

Contributed to Baptist on Mission disaster relief, or have already

volunteered your time, thank you for helping bring hope and

healing to those impacted by Hurricane Helene. There is still

so much to be in western North Carolina. Won't you

come and help. I'd like to encourage you to join

us to be the hands and feet of Jesus as

we not only rebuild homes, but rebuild lives. Thank you

for helping us offer relief for today and hope for tomorrow.

Giving challenge when it comes to a lot of moon

and any armstrong, don't I would just challenge you. Maybe

we as a church, we'd give two thousand dollars that

together to go to the Baptist on Mission that we

can continue to help support the rebuilding processes in Rustern,

North Carolina. So be praying about that. There are I

think in your pews there are giving envelopes, it says

Baptist on Mission. So grab one of those, taking home,

pray over it, bring it back. We're gonna be doing

this through the month of October. But it's exciting to

see just what God has done. I also encourage you

as we talk about Baptists on Mission not only the offering,

but one of the things we want to continue to

grow in at Bathasda is sending people to go. And

so if you're interested in going and serving there in

western North Carolina, talk to us. We love their training

places that you can get trained in North Carolina and

then you can go be a part of one of

these teams that help do rebuilds. There are seven rebuild

Centers stops in North Carolina now, and so we can

send you there. We'd love to help kind of grow that.

We know basically, we know that many people are called

to go international, but some people are called to go locally,

and so we want to be a part of helping

you go on mission and so whether that's North Carolina

or to the ends of the earth. So talk to

us if you're interested in serving in that capacity. As

we finish out today, I want to remind you of

Big three our workdays. Next Saturday at nine we have

prayer Walk the twelfth, which is next Sunday from four

to five fifteen, and then Fall festivals coming up October

twenty fifth, from five to eighth. Isn't it wasn't it
