  1. Thank you brother. Right, good morning everyone. How are you

  2. doing today? Yes, very good? Exciting. Well, they was telling us,

  3. I mean that we can't wait for Christmas and we

  4. are in this season that is the Advent season. And

  5. yes we can't wait. We are excited about it. And

  6. guess what, Well, Christmas is very important, the most important. Well,

  7. there are two really important events for us as Christians.

  8. When the Lord Jesus Christ was born and of course

  9. when he surrendered his life for us all but in

  10. that case, something that I just want to make sure

  11. that today we consider is exactly what is this Christmas

  12. season for us? What does that really mean? And for

  13. us as Christians it is not just Christmas all about

  14. the trees and the lights and the bulbs and the

  15. excitement the presence. For us as Christians, it is not

  16. even all about a baby in the manger. Okay for

  17. those as Christians. Is something that we need to consider.

  18. That is God himself coming to earth to our messy, dark,

  19. confused world to save us. So he had a mission

  20. when he sent his only son to earth. So he himself,

  21. being spirit, decided to send his son to earth for

  22. us have hope and be saved. All right, So that

  23. is the most important thing about Christians, about Christmas, and

  24. for us as Christians, we know that there is something

  25. for us, for each one of us. So the title

  26. for today what I'm talking is you are called to

  27. make a difference, all right. So that means that we

  28. all it is not just Pastor Dave or brother Rob,

  29. it is all of us. Okay, we had been called

  30. to make a difference. And I just wanted to share

  31. with you about things that you have heard. You are

  32. very well aware about these things, but it's important in

  33. this season to refresh our minds about how everything happened,

  34. all right, and how the Lord has chosen people all

  35. over the history to be difference makers, all right, difference makers.

  36. And today he's also calling us to be a difference maker.

  37. So the first one that I want to bring to

  38. our mind is Mary. Okay, this young girl, very humble

  39. in a small village, lost in Anywerland. Okay. So she

  40. was just a young girl, beautiful, and the Lord had

  41. her in her plans, right, and you know that Mary

  42. was already commissioned to be the mother of the Son

  43. of God. And she was there, I mean, being a

  44. little girl, young lady, Okay. And then the Lord called her,

  45. and when he called her, he could have said, no,

  46. way over my dead body. I really don't want to

  47. do this. This is going to put myself in a

  48. really difficult position. I will be embarrassed, I will be

  49. put on shame. Perhaps they are going even to stone me,

  50. because in the culture of those times, I mean, that

  51. was exactly what happened when they found that someone was

  52. pregnant without being married. But Mary decided to say yes

  53. to the Lord. The Lord called her, and Mary said, yes,

  54. here I am. So let's go to our first burst

  55. of today. When Mary responds to the Lord, and that's

  56. what she said. And Mary said, my soul glorifies the Lord,

  57. and my spirit rejoices in God, my Savior, for he

  58. has been mindful of the humble state of his servant.

  59. From now on, all generations will call me blessed, for

  60. the Mighty One has done great things for me. Holy

  61. is his name. And guess what this young lady all

  62. of a sudden became a revolutionary of love because of

  63. her acceptance to the mission that the Lord has given

  64. to her. By giving birth in her womb to the

  65. Son of God, he allowed the whole world to be saved,

  66. to have hope, to be in light. So for her

  67. it was just like perhaps a simple not a simple thing,

  68. and not a simple task even we could call it

  69. like a mission impossible according to the films, when the

  70. people says, if you wish to accept it, okay, in

  71. this case, well, Mary was ready to accept it. So

  72. she did and that was one of a big difference

  73. maker because she did it. Perhaps she may have said no,

  74. and what the Lord would have done, well, perhaps he

  75. had someone else in mind. But the Lord knew her,

  76. he knew her heart, he knew who she was, he

  77. knew that she loved the Lord. So the Lord didn't

  78. make a mistake selecting Mary for this impossible task. But

  79. she did. And here we are twenty first century, the

  80. same thing continues for us. All right. So that was

  81. the first one that I just wanted to bring to

  82. your attention. Then let's think about the shepherds, all right.

  83. So these people that have been in the middle of

  84. the night, out there in the gold of the night

  85. with the sheep, and they were taking care of them,

  86. and then all of the sudden In Luke chapter two,

  87. verse from eight to twenty, it describes exactly what was happening.

  88. They were already there. They were happy, just taking care

  89. of their their lamps, their sheep, and then all of

  90. the sudden, this huge light, this huge light came, the

  91. Angel appeared, and the angel gave the shepherds a great news,

  92. telling them that the Lord Messiah had been born, and

  93. that he was promised before he had arrived, and that

  94. they needed to go and worship him all right. So,

  95. and it was not just one angel. The Bible says

  96. in look in those verses eight to twenty piece read

  97. it if you can tonight. It says that not only

  98. that angel, it was hundreds, it was multitude. Multitudes or

  99. heavenly entities came. So I reckon that it was just

  100. like thousands of angels being there, and all of them

  101. were shouting, Hallelujah, hallelujah, Holy is a Man. So all

  102. sorts of things that they were doing to worship the Lord.

  103. And the shepherds were Originally I think that they were

  104. just scared. Imagine being in the middle of the night

  105. and something like this happened. I think that the first

  106. reaction was they were scared, But after they heard that

  107. it was something really good, it was great news, and

  108. they had promised with this coming, the Messiah coming towards

  109. of course, they said, hallelujah, that was amazing things. But

  110. let's read what the shepherds did. As soon as the

  111. angel and all the rest of the angels left, Let's

  112. go to look chapter two, verse seventeen. When they had

  113. seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been

  114. told them about this child. So the first reaction after

  115. the angels left, the shepherd said, okay, let's go, let's

  116. try to find the boy. Let's see what happened. Let's

  117. see if what the angel said is true. So there

  118. they go, all together with the sheep, they went to

  119. find the baby in that man job, and they found him.

  120. But after they have seen him that day, I could

  121. say that with their own eyes. I mean, we're experiencing

  122. what the angel had seen them, had told them. Then

  123. they immediately took a response because their goal at that

  124. point in time was to spread the news. There was

  125. no Instagram, there was no wants up, there was no

  126. social media to post hey you selfie with the baby,

  127. No way, there was nothing like that. But they played

  128. a critical point because they were the first ones that

  129. had to spread the news and how they were going

  130. to spread the news. Were going to village from village

  131. to village to spread the news that they had seen

  132. the Messiah, as the Angel said the same way that

  133. it had prophesized over hundreds of years before. It was

  134. true and they were there. So there we go another

  135. round of people that they were difference makers because they

  136. could have said, Okay, well we have seen a baby.

  137. Yeah it could be. It could not be that it's

  138. the Messiah. Just let's continue what we are doing. No,

  139. they received this goal to be the first responders and

  140. go and share the news. All right, So that is

  141. kind of the second round of difference makers. All right,

  142. let's go to the next one. Well, over the years

  143. and when Jesus started his ministry about thirty years plus.

  144. When he started, well, he wanted to have a gang okay,

  145. the gang of disciples, we can say. And basically what

  146. he did was to start calling people. How many did

  147. he call? Do you know how many disciples did he call?

  148. Come on? Twelve disciples? Right, And he was over the

  149. village calling him calling them, okay, one by one, until

  150. he had these group of people, these disciples that he

  151. had in mind. I am going to make him make

  152. them like a real difference makers. All right, I need

  153. them to do this again. Impossible task. I think Mary

  154. had perhaps the most difficult one at the beginning, But

  155. now what was coming was even more critical because they

  156. had to do exactly what the Lord came to do

  157. to die for our scenes, but making sure that after

  158. he left and would be resurrecting, the twelve disciples had

  159. the commission to continue with the job that he came

  160. to accomplish. Okay, because it was not going to end there.

  161. He needed someone that being testifying of what happened or

  162. what he had done. Now they had to go and

  163. do exactly the same thing, I mean, performing miracles, sharing

  164. the good news, sharing about their experiences, et cetera. So

  165. there we go. Let's just go to Matthew chapter four,

  166. verse nineteen. And the Lord with the simple friends said,

  167. come follow me, Jesus said, and I will send you

  168. out to fish for people. These guys were fishermen. Okay,

  169. that's what they were doing. They had a boat. They

  170. used to go to the sea, to the lakes just

  171. to fish, Okay, to go fishing. And well they were

  172. catting a fish. But the Lord came and just with

  173. a simple words, follow me, follow me. Imagine the power

  174. of his presence, of his words for these guys just

  175. to all of the sudden listening follow me. And they

  176. were following him. Okay. They didn't ask, they didn't say, okay,

  177. what to do for? How much are you going to

  178. pay for this? No, they just follow him because there

  179. was a mission for them. There was something that they

  180. needed to learn going with him through his ministry, but

  181. they didn't know about it at that point in time.

  182. They just heard the phrase follow me, and they did.

  183. I mean, and we know what happened with these twelve men, Well,

  184. perhaps it was only eleven. Then another was added later

  185. when Judas did what he did. But the whole world

  186. was transformed because of the obedience of these men, because

  187. their willingness to share the gospel, because of their willingness

  188. to travel to all that area and just share and

  189. make more disciples. There was one commission that the Lord

  190. gave them, and it was go and preach the gospel

  191. to every nation, baptizing them in the name of the

  192. Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. So they did, okay,

  193. And again they didn't have a car, they didn't have planes,

  194. they didn't have anything. So how did they do it.

  195. They were just walking from town to town, from city

  196. to city, traveling, doing all sorts of things. And that's

  197. how the gospel started moving forward over the years. Okay,

  198. have you noticed something in these cases that I have

  199. shared with you, and it is that the Lord really

  200. noticed nobody, okay, the nobodies of the world. Because when

  201. he elected Mary, Mary, as I said, was a young

  202. girl okay, in a lost village somewhere in that area.

  203. The shepherds very humble people, hard workers, are right, and

  204. then the disciples, they were fishermen. So the Lord really

  205. notices those people. He didn't go and selected perhaps a

  206. king from a very powerful country. He didn't select the

  207. most rich or the richest people of the world to

  208. do this commission. No, the Lord selected those that perhaps

  209. no one noticed before that they were not prominent, that

  210. they didn't have high profiles in any of the well

  211. platforms at those part in time, not LinkedIn or anything

  212. like that. But they were simple people. They were humble people.

  213. But what they had in common was a heart that

  214. loved the Lord and a willingness to do what he

  215. wanted them to do. So here is the challenge for

  216. you this morning, okay, because now the same call comes

  217. to us, to each one of us. All right. And

  218. perhaps you might have been thinking, Oh, Lord, but who

  219. am I? I have no skills. I haven't been prepared

  220. to be either or a pastor or a preacher, or

  221. a evangelist or anything like that. But the Lord seeks

  222. for hearts that are willing to do the mission, all right.

  223. And we are here in this place for one reason

  224. is because we are seeking for the Lord. We are

  225. trying to be closer to him. We really want to

  226. make a difference, and that's exactly what the Lord wants

  227. us to do. So let's go with our last verse

  228. of the day that is in Matthew chapter five, verse

  229. fourteen to sixteen. And this is like the second part

  230. because there is another one, but let's just focus on

  231. this one. You are the light of the world. A

  232. town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do

  233. people light a lamp and put up sorry sorry. Neither

  234. do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead,

  235. they put it on instand and it gives light to

  236. everyone in the house. In the same way, let your

  237. light shine before others, that they may see your good

  238. deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven. I mean, and

  239. that is exactly what the Lord is calling us to do.

  240. Where are we placed? Are we placed in a school?

  241. Are we placing a job in an office? Are we

  242. placing a community, the building where we live, the community,

  243. the shops to where we go in by and by

  244. store things. Where is our mission field? Okay? And we

  245. don't need to be those evangelists that sometimes have to

  246. travel far away to preach or do campaigns, et cetera.

  247. Each one of us have a small mission field, and

  248. we are there. As the Lord says, we are the

  249. light of the world. A couple of verses before this,

  250. one says that we are the soul of this earth,

  251. those things that please flavor to our food. Well, we

  252. are those people that place or give flavor to the

  253. environment where we live. Okay, That we bring, joy, that

  254. we bring, hope that we bring, help that we bring

  255. what other people living in darkness need. I mean, So please,

  256. today my encouragement to you is, please do not feel

  257. that you are a nobody because perhaps someone has told you,

  258. oh who you are, what do you have? You are

  259. no one, but you know what you are precious before

  260. the Lord, you are an amazing creation. Of his and

  261. he has given you all sorts of gifts and talents

  262. and a heart that loves the Lord. And that's all

  263. what we need a mean to do this or to

  264. accomplish this mission and the mission what is the mission

  265. in twenty twenty five, Well, we said, well, the Lord

  266. has already was born and died, resurrected, is in heaven. Yeah,

  267. but there is still lots to be done, because you know,

  268. the Prince of this world is working hard, just bringing

  269. confusion in the world, bringing words, bringing despair, bringing anxiety,

  270. bring mental health issues. And is so then what it

  271. is for us? Well, we are here to transform, to touch,

  272. to give hope to those around us, all right, and

  273. we are empowered to do that because we are not

  274. working on our own. The Holy Spirit dwells in us.

  275. The Holy Spirit is with us, and he will speak

  276. for us. Even when you touch someone who is seek

  277. and you pray for them, it is not going to

  278. be only your hand, I mean just laying on someone's

  279. It is the Holy Spirit through you who will be

  280. doing the job. And you need to believe that because

  281. if you have allowed the Holy Spirit to dwell in you,

  282. then you have the same power the Lord said, and

  283. even greater things than this you will be able to

  284. do if you believe and if you receive the Lord.

  285. I mean, so this Christmas, please consider meditate on these words.

  286. You know all of these stories, we have heard them before, Amen,

  287. But it's just a refresher how the Lord, being the

  288. Almighty One, creator of everything visible and invisible, he himself

  289. is giving him in a son coming to earth to

  290. transform the earth and our world. We can do the

  291. same in our small community, in our family, in our

  292. areas of influence. Amen. But let me ask you something,

  293. because I know that for some of us we had

  294. been Christians for ages, Amen, perhaps I mean in my

  295. case more than thirty or forty years a man, thank God.

  296. But for some of you, perhaps you have very recently

  297. heard about the Lord Jesus, and you have initiated your journey,

  298. and perhaps you have some doubts in terms of okay,

  299. is it really worth following the Lord? Am I doing

  300. the right thing? Am I just living a part things

  301. that I enjoy doing or that perhaps are not convenient

  302. to me to follow him? And I can tell you yes,

  303. it is worth it. I mean, because a life that

  304. has the Lord in it is full of love and

  305. peace and hope. I mean so, I just want to

  306. ask you today, do you need the Lord to come

  307. into your world? Your own world, because perhaps your world

  308. is a bit messy, it's a bit dark, has been

  309. in confusion. Perhaps there is no clarity about what the

  310. future holds, and you still do not
