  1. Good morning, Church family.

  2. There is nothing like what happens in this room during

  3. those ninety seconds.

  4. It is so powerful.

  5. Like I'm standing in the back and I'm like, I

  6. really don't want to go out right now because I

  7. feel like I am the cue to calm it down.

  8. And so it just kind of is so beautiful to

  9. hear all of the connection and the moments that's happening here. Well,

  10. I just want you to know that I am glad

  11. to be here with you this morning. It is exciting

  12. to be together today. As we look at the close

  13. of twenty twenty five. Wow, it seemed like it flew by.

  14. It seemed like it came and it went. But we're

  15. on the last Sunday of this year. Let us pray. Father,

  16. we just thank you for this moment. Thank you for

  17. the opportunity to gather in community as we reflect on Christmas,

  18. as you reflect on this year, and Lord, as we

  19. reflect on You, Holy Spirit, Speak to us today, help

  20. us to align ourself with your purpose and your will. Today, God,

  21. I ask you to speak through me. I sit down

  22. that you might stand up. I become silent so you

  23. may speak. Have your way in Jesus' snake. Amen, good morning.

  24. I'm Pastor Mike, and if I have not met you before,

  25. I am so glad that you're here with us today.

  26. If you're tuning in online, I'm so glad that you

  27. have decided to tune in to church at the Crossing

  28. Welcome this morning.

  29. As you know, this has.

  30. Been the Advent season, and we have celebrated Christmas together

  31. with our family and our friends, with those we love,

  32. and even new people that we met for the first time.

  33. And as we close this chapter, I want to make

  34. one declaration. Christmas is not over. I'm going to say

  35. that again. Christmas is not over.

  36. Now.

  37. Many of you probably got a little nervous when I

  38. said that, because you thought of all the gifts you wrapped,

  39. and all the shopping you did, and all the stuff

  40. that you just got through, and you were hoping that

  41. it actually was over that you can move on. But

  42. I want to let you know that it's not over.

  43. Even though the decorations may be coming down and the

  44. music is starting to fade off, of the radio stations

  45. and the gifts that you got that you really didn't

  46. want you've already exchanged. Christmas is not over, but the

  47. story of Christmas continues. Because for those of us who

  48. see Christmas as a waiting moment, waiting is one of

  49. the things that we must do as believers. Waiting is

  50. a part of the Christian life. Today, I want to

  51. talk to you from the topic waiting. Well, the Christmas

  52. story continues. We live in a society that hates to wait.

  53. We just don't like it. We want it now, we

  54. want answers now, we want breakthrough now, we want healing now,

  55. we want resolution now, and nobody wants to wait for it.

  56. In fact, studies tell us that the average American waits

  57. thirty seven hours a year waiting in lines. And guess

  58. what that does not include wait waiting on the Lord.

  59. Sometimes we feel like we're waiting in a line, waiting

  60. for the Lord to answer our prayers. And yet scripture

  61. shows us that some of God's greatest work happens in

  62. the arrival of the promise, not in the arrival of

  63. the promise, but in the waiting for it. It's not

  64. when it shows up, but it's while we are waiting.

  65. Consider this, Abraham and Sarah, they were waiting to start

  66. a nation. Joseph was waiting on a dream to come

  67. to pass. Moses waited for the promised land. Hannah waited

  68. for her womb to be opened. Naomi waited for bitterness

  69. to leave, Joe waited for restoration, and on and on

  70. and on. If you are a believer, I want to

  71. let you know that you will be in a time

  72. of waiting. All believers are waiting for something, and some

  73. of the things that we're waiting on we get confused

  74. because they are.

  75. Human conditions, human waiting.

  76. Some of us are asking right now, well, pastor Mike,

  77. where are you going with this? Well, Christmas is the

  78. greatest weight story ever. This promise was spoken about in

  79. Genesis and all the way through Malachi and a arrival

  80. that we were expecting that took forty two generations to

  81. manifest and to now be realized. Luke two introduces us

  82. to two people who I like to call hidden figures

  83. of Christmas. These people show up one day and we

  84. never hear of them again, but they are significant because

  85. of the impact they have on the Christmas story.

  86. Luke takes the time.

  87. To investigate and get information from we believe Mary in

  88. order to be able to describe or write, because only

  89. Mary could really understand the significance of what was happening

  90. when she meant these two people, these people are Simeon

  91. and Anna. These two teach us indeed how.

  92. To wait well.

  93. Well, Christians, if we are gonna be waiting, we need

  94. to learn how to wait well. We meet them in

  95. verse twenty five of Luke two. But let me set

  96. the background for this story. The reason that Mary and

  97. Joseph were in the temple in the first place was

  98. because they had to present Jesus.

  99. They had to present Jesus because he was the first born.

  100. Any first born of any human or animal had to

  101. be presented to the temple, and so Jesus would go

  102. to the temple to be presented. But also Mary was

  103. returning to the temple after forty days of being considered unclear.

  104. Now she was going to the temple to say that

  105. she was clean and to.

  106. Offer up her offering of purity. That offering usually was

  107. a lamb and.

  108. A pigeon, and so either those two things were offered up,

  109. but there also was an offering for the poor, which

  110. could be turtle doves or two pigeons, and we read

  111. in scripture that Mary offered up the latter. So this

  112. let us know that they were not wealthy. But they

  113. may have been in need, but they come into the

  114. temple to complete what needed to be done. Notice that

  115. the temple was not some small country church, but the

  116. temple was busy. Many people were coming to the temple,

  117. whether they were coming to offer sacrifice or whether they

  118. were coming to worship.

  119. The temple was active.

  120. God was using this temple to meet all of the

  121. people's need and the community. So get in your mind

  122. how chaotic it could have been to walk into the

  123. temple on this particular day with your new born who's

  124. like forty days ye old years old.

  125. Forty days old, not forty.

  126. Years old, Lord, a mercy, that's a rough newborn anyway.

  127. But your forty day you're day born baby.

  128. You bring that baby into the temple and you are

  129. going to present them to the Lord.

  130. You're presenting God's.

  131. Child to God. But let us turn to the scriptures, Luke.

  132. The second chapter, verse twenty five through forty, the Bible

  133. shows us a few things.

  134. Here it says, now there was a man in.

  135. Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout.

  136. He was waiting.

  137. For the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was

  138. on him. Don't forget that. It had been revealed to

  139. him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die

  140. before he had seen the Lord's Messiah. Moved by the spirit,

  141. he went into the temple courts. When the parents brought

  142. in the child Jesus to do for him what the

  143. custom of the law required, Simeon took him in his

  144. arms and praised God, saying, Sovereign Lord, you have as

  145. you have promised. You may now dismiss your servant in peace,

  146. for my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have

  147. prepared in the sight of all nations, a light for

  148. revelation to the gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.

  149. The child's father and mother marveled at what was said

  150. about him then, and blessed them, and said to marry

  151. his mother. This child is destined to cause the falling

  152. and rising of many in Israel, and to be a

  153. sign that will be spoken against so that the thoughts

  154. of many hearts may will be revealed. And I and

  155. a sword will pierce your soul to listen to this part,

  156. and a sword will pierce your soul to I believe

  157. that this portion of scripture right here is speaking to

  158. Jesus on the cross. And Mary sitting at the foot

  159. of the cross, and could you imagine the traumatic experience

  160. of this mother's first born being crucified and her watching.

  161. Some way or another, Simeon had an impression from the

  162. spirit to speak this truth. The Bible goes on to

  163. say there was also a prophet, Anna, the daughter of

  164. Pinuel of the tribe of Asher.

  165. She was very old.

  166. She had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage,

  167. and then was a widow until she was eighty four.

  168. She never left the temple, but worshiped night and day,

  169. fasting and praying. Coming up to them at that very

  170. moment that Simeon is speaking to them, she gave thanks

  171. to God and spoke about the child to all who

  172. were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem. When Joseph

  173. and Mary had done everything required by the law of

  174. the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to their own town

  175. of Nazareth, and the child grew and became strong. He

  176. was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was

  177. upon him. This morning, I would like to leave you

  178. with five quick points, some truths, and some takeaways.

  179. The first point this morning is that waiting is.

  180. Often where God is working most many of us in

  181. this room. We are waiting on something, But I want

  182. to push you a little bit deeper. It's not the

  183. thing we're waiting on. It is who we are waiting on.

  184. We are called to wait on the Lord. And so

  185. Simeon had been waiting for some time. The scriptures tell

  186. us now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon,

  187. who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the

  188. consolation of Israel, and the whole was upon him. He

  189. was waiting, like all of Israel for the Messiah to come.

  190. He was waiting for Messiah, and they had been.

  191. Waiting for a very long time.

  192. But he had the revelation that he would not die

  193. until he saw Messiah.

  194. And on this day he saw Messiah.

  195. Simeon was not idle in his waiting. He was not bitter,

  196. He was not checked out. I want to let you know,

  197. as Christians, we cannot afford to check out. We cannot

  198. afford to forget the reason we have come into faith,

  199. the reason we are walking with the Lord, the reason

  200. we are following Christ. We cannot check out, but we

  201. need to stay connected. Simeon was righteous, he was devoted,

  202. but he was also waiting. I want to let you

  203. know that this morning that although you may do be

  204. doing everything that God has called you to do, that

  205. does not take you away from the opportunity to also wait.

  206. Sometimes we believe if I'm.

  207. Doing everything I'm supposed to do, if I'm following the Lord,

  208. if I'm praying and I'm reading my word, and I'm

  209. doing all those things, things should just happen for me.

  210. It should come quickly, it should come now.

  211. Well, I won't let you know.

  212. The Lord may have you waiting for a reason, for

  213. a purpose by design. Here's the truth that we must embrace.

  214. Delay does not mean that God is absent. Often it

  215. means that God is shaping us. A waiting season stretches us,

  216. it refines us, it matures us. If God has you

  217. waiting right now, hear me when I say this, don't

  218. waste the season. Let Him form you you in it.

  219. He is forming you in your waiting. If you're waiting

  220. for healing, if you're waiting for deliverance, or you're waiting

  221. for restoration in your family, in your life, whatever you're

  222. waiting on in this.

  223. Moment, allow God to form you. Seek him.

  224. Because this is what Simeon did when God this quote

  225. by doctor Miles Monroe. When God delays, it is not

  226. because he is unprepared.

  227. It is because he is preparing you. God is prepared.

  228. He knows the beginning, and he knows the end, and

  229. he knows the end between. And while we are in

  230. the end between, he is preparing us for what we

  231. are not prepared for. Right now, there's some things that

  232. you are waiting for that if it happened today, you

  233. would ruin it. Oh, you know you would, because you're

  234. asking the Lord to bless you financially. But if God

  235. gave you money right now, you would buy that thing.

  236. You know, you ain't got no business buying. So the

  237. Lord may cause you to wait so you can become disciplined.

  238. If we wait in our own strength, frustration will always win.

  239. That's why Simeon teaches us.

  240. How to wait, and he also introduces someone we desperately need.

  241. Point two, Waiting when requires the Holy Spirit, not human patience.

  242. I'm gonna say that again, Waiting requires the Holy Spirit

  243. and not human patience. Listen, some of us are very patient. Recently,

  244. I had an encounter and I was working with a

  245. young person and I'm telling you they were doing some

  246. dastardly stuff, and I was super super patient. I'm telling

  247. you I was patient. Other people were saying stuff, and

  248. I was like, it's okay, it's all right. We can

  249. handle it, buddy, we can do it. We can take

  250. care of it. But I tell you, the God's on

  251. this truth. I came to a point where my patience

  252. ran out. And you know what's bad when you say

  253. I'm the most patient person with you, patience will run out.

  254. But the Holy Spirit will allow us to go the disc.

  255. And loop two.

  256. We pull away that it has been revealed to him

  257. by the Holy Spirit. So remember, the Holy Spirit reveals

  258. to him, and then the Holy Spirit moves him to

  259. the temple courts.

  260. He's being revealed and moved.

  261. The Holy Spirit will give you everything that you need

  262. to survive. If you don't have the Holy Spirit, I'm

  263. telling you you are missing the key that you need

  264. to survive as a believer. The Holy Spirit will guide you.

  265. So Simeon wasn't walking around guessing. He wasn't forcing doors open.

  266. You know about that, don't you making it work out?

  267. We gotta make it work out. But he was led

  268. by the spirit. He was led by the Holy Spirit.

  269. He was waiting and being led by the Holy Spirit.

  270. Here's the truth. Impatience grows when we relye on ourselves.

  271. Peace grows when we relye on the Spirit. I don't

  272. know about you, but I prefer to walk in peace.

  273. When I'm walking in peace, the Spirit gives me peace

  274. because I abide in the Spirit. When I stop abiding

  275. within the Spirit, guess what happens. All the things start

  276. falling apart.

  277. When I start.

  278. Doing my own thing and walking my own way and

  279. coming up with my own thoughts and my own designs,

  280. and I start strategizing and I have not included the Lord.

  281. I want to let you know. It always falls apart

  282. in my own life, and guess what I know about life, It.

  283. Falls apart in your life too.

  284. Some of your best strategies have fallen apart because you

  285. did not include or invite the Holy Spirit. Because guess what,

  286. most times when I am bite the Holy Spirit, the

  287. Holy Spirit straps my whole plan. Well, I'm just gonna

  288. call them and tell them about themselves. And the Holy

  289. Spirit says, you can't even find a number on the phone.

  290. You're like, I know, I put that number.

  291. In the phone.

  292. Just be quiet and wait. Now we know the secret.

  293. When you're really angry. Don't send the text. Some of

  294. y'all still don't listen to that, do you? You send

  295. it anyway?

  296. And you wait. You see the little doctor. You say, Well,

  297. they bet not, they bet not, they bet not. But wait.

  298. And seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit. God will

  299. give you peace if you rely on the spirit. Some

  300. of us here are exhaust You're tired waiting.

  301. When is it going to happen?

  302. Well, I want to let you know that you're not

  303. tired because you've been waiting. But you've been waiting without prayer.

  304. We must pray, wait and pray and prayer is this

  305. prayer is staying connected with the Father. In other words,

  306. I want to let you know my prayer life is

  307. not a lot of words I start talking, But the

  308. older I've gotten, I've learned that the Lord already knows.

  309. I just need to shut up and sit and let

  310. him speak. God, what do you want to say to

  311. me today?

  312. How do you want to guide me today? How do

  313. I work through the situation?

  314. Lord? God?

  315. I feel like I need to have a response, and

  316. he says, wait, don't move, just sit here, linger in

  317. my presence. I want to let you know that My

  318. prayer never ends when I say amen.

  319. It's the after prayer. That's when the Lord is speaking.

  320. It's when I shut up that he starts talking.

  321. Simeon knew how to linger in the presence of the Lord.

  322. He had time, he had practiced. The takeaway is stay

  323. prayerful while you're waiting. The Spirit sustains what your strength cannot.

  324. In your own strength, no, but in the strength of

  325. the Spirit you will be able to endure. And see

  326. this is the beauty of spirit led waiting. Eventually, God

  327. does show up, not when we told him to or

  328. requested him to the way we wanted him to, and

  329. how we wanted to, when we wanted where all those

  330. things that we put the constraints we put on God.

  331. But he shows up when it is time to show up.

  332. Oh you remember Lazarus. He heard that his friend was

  333. sick and died. He said, Hey, let's hang out a

  334. couple more days. We're good in this place.

  335. Why because he is God. He knows how to do

  336. the thing. He knows what we don't know.

  337. He knows how to navigate, he knows how to put

  338. the situation in order because He has already done it.

  339. We're the ones who are waiting. See, we're waiting in faith,

  340. and for some reason we have mixed up faith because

  341. we think faith has to be movement. I want to

  342. let you know, the greatest faith is the faith to wait.

  343. Well that hits somebody over here, let me say it

  344. over here. The greatest faith is the faith to wait.

  345. Lord.

  346. I trust you so much that I can wait here.

  347. I don't have to move because right here is good.

  348. I won't move without you, I won't step without you,

  349. I won't go without you.

  350. I am good. Waiting.

  351. Waiting is not endless, it is purposeful, which brings me

  352. to the moment. Simeon had been waiting for his whole life.

  353. And point three.

  354. God's promise is all ways worth the way.

  355. It's worth the way.

  356. Whatever the Lord has spoken, whatever the Lord said he

  357. would do, it is worth the way. Hold on, keep waiting,

  358. keep trusting. This summer, I had the wonderful privilege of

  359. going to Europe, and I got to one of my

  360. stops on my trip in Europe was Amsterdam, and I

  361. got to go to the Rembrandt Home and Museum.

  362. And in that museum, rem Brandt had.

  363. All these pictures, these beautiful works of art, all around,

  364. and there were a lot of them depicted these spiritual moments.

  365. But one of the pictures I did not get to

  366. see was this one right here.

  367. This picture is named Simeon in the Temple.

  368. Simeon is in the temple and he is holding the baby.

  369. I'm thinking that shadow in the background might be Anna,

  370. but at least I know this is Simeon in the

  371. temple and he is holding the baby. Could you imagine

  372. holding what you have been expecting, holding the miracle and

  373. knowing that it is the miracle some of us.

  374. I want to let you know that.

  375. You are already holding your miracle, but you have not

  376. been able to identify it. Your healing is already in

  377. your hands, your deliverance is already in.

  378. Your hands, but you're missing the fact because it looks

  379. like a baby.

  380. But Simeon knew that this was the Christ, that this

  381. is the Messiah. This is the answer. I am holding

  382. the answer in my hands. I've waited my whole life.

  383. One encounter with Jesus made sense of years of waiting.

  384. This truth is powerful. This is a simple one.

  385. One encounter with God can make years of waiting.

  386. Makes sense.

  387. I understand it now. Older people always can rationalize their life.

  388. Why it happened when it happened, why they married who

  389. they married, because the crazy one they were dating, Why

  390. they moved from that city to this city, because of

  391. the friendships that they gained. We can look back and

  392. we can see the hand of God. It's always easy

  393. to look back in the rear view mirror and see

  394. how God was moving in our lives. This is what

  395. he was doing in this moment, thinking about every time

  396. he went to the temple, every time he was praying,

  397. every time he was spending time.

  398. In the presence of the Lord, and the Spirit was

  399. with him.

  400. But now everything made sense while he was holding the baby.

  401. Notice this, Simeon didn't complain about the wake. He didn't say,

  402. why did you take so long, Jesus. His response was,

  403. now I can rest, oh man, now I can rest.

  404. The takeaway for that is trust God's timing. What he

  405. brings is all will always be better than anything we

  406. could rush. I don't know about you, but I don't

  407. like rushed mills. Oh you've had a few of them

  408. in your day. You were trying to get something on

  409. the table and you just rush through it and it

  410. turned out and you ate. But it wasn't good. You

  411. didn't tell anybody, but it wasn't good. There's something about

  412. waiting for the meal. Why is it so important to

  413. wait for the meal is because while you're waiting for

  414. the meal, your hunger increase. Believers this morning, I want

  415. to tell you, stay hungry for the Lord, Stay hungry

  416. for Jesus. Stay hungry, always longing, always waiting. But I

  417. want to let you know that we are not waiting

  418. for the next car, the next house, the next job,

  419. the next degree, the next income rise, the next baby,

  420. the next marriage. I want to let you know that

  421. this morning, the Church of God should be waiting.

  422. On the Lord's return.

  423. So often we get caught up in this human experience

  424. that we forget that we're not here permanently. We are

  425. here temporarily waiting for the return of the Savior.

  426. And guess what these two.

  427. Individuals and one I'm about to bring into the story.

  428. They had been waiting for so long, and here comes

  429. the child Jesus. Now here's where the story widens. Simeon

  430. teaches us how to wait with hope, but Anna teaches

  431. us how to wait with worship. I want to let

  432. you know that we were created to worship. We were

  433. created for worship. Our whole existence are life is worship.

  434. Worship is not what we did this morning. This was

  435. a meeting. Oh, I just want to let you know.

  436. This was a meeting. We did some singing, we did

  437. some teaching, but this was a meeting. Worship happens even

  438. after this. This was the reminder of why we come together.

  439. This was the reminder of who God is, that he

  440. created us for the purpose of worship. Worship is a lifestyle.

  441. It's what I do all day every day. When I'm

  442. at work, when I'm at school, when I'm in the car,

  443. when I'm at the bank, when I'm at the grocery store,

  444. when I'm by myself, when I'm with my family, I

  445. am in worship.

  446. I am in worship mode.

  447. Because I realize and acknowledge that everything in my life

  448. is connected.

  449. To the Savior.

  450. We are worshippers and we've been called to worship. The

  451. Bible says this.

  452. In Luke too. She never left the temple, but worship.

  453. Night and day, night and day, fasting and praying. Now,

  454. I don't want you to think that Anna actually lived

  455. in the temple. I don't know if the temple had showers,

  456. but Anna was there every time the church door's open. Oh,

  457. my Lord, I have some friends here at Church of

  458. the Cross, and that every time the church door opened,

  459. I see them.

  460. They're here.

  461. They're serving, they're finding a place, they're finding a space.

  462. They're always here. Why Because they are worshipers. She was committed,

  463. she was connected to the Lord. And even though she

  464. had some issues, she had reasons to quit, reason to withdraw.

  465. She has some things happening in her life.

  466. She was a widow, She had all the reasons to

  467. not worship, but she kept on worshiping.

  468. She kept on serving the Lord. She kept on showing up.

  469. I want to let you know, though you may be waiting,

  470. don't stop coming, don't stop showing up, don't stop worshiping.

  471. Worshiping is the key. So she was waiting, she was worse.

  472. Here's the truth. Faithful worship keeps our hearts aligned while

  473. we wait. Because worship says, Lord, you're faithful. Lord, you're moving. Lord,

  474. you're doing it. Lord, you're making it work together for

  475. my good.

  476. Lord, I know who you are.

  477. Worship reminds us that God is still worthy even when

  478. the answer has not yet arrived.

  479. Remember this worship is not.

  480. About what, it's about who. It's not what we do,

  481. it's who we do it for.

  482. Lord. Everything that I do, I want to do for you.

  483. From the moment I rise up to the moment I

  484. lay down, and even in my dreams, I want.

  485. To worship you.

  486. That is my desire, that should be our desire. The

  487. takeaway for that is, please, please, please, don't pause your

  488. worship just because a miracle hasn't arrived. Jesus hadn't shown

  489. up to the temple yet, but she was still worshiping.

  490. And guess what when you wait, well, God will work

  491. in your life when we stay faithful, when we keep worshiping,

  492. we will see how the Lord will show up for us.

  493. But not only will he show up for us, he

  494. will show up for others. That leads us two point

  495. five wait will one day encourage others. In Luke two

  496. we Gardner that she spoke about the child to all

  497. who were looking forward to the rediction of Jerusalem.

  498. She spoke to everyone who was in the temple.

  499. She was there, she saw the baby, She experienced the moment,

  500. and she took the moment and she carried it, and

  501. she talked about it. I want to let you know

  502. that somebody's waiting to hear the testimony of Jesus in

  503. your life. Somebody's waiting to know how He showed up

  504. in your life. Don't let the enemy steal your testimony.

  505. Sometimes we get so cleaned up that we forget where

  506. he found us. Some of us he found us in

  507. a bar. Some of us he found us in the

  508. wrong person's bed. Some of us he found us in

  509. all sorts of places, in addiction, in sickness. Don't forgetting

  510. your testimony. And so she testifies to what she experience.

  511. Here's the truth. God uses waiting seasons.

  512. To build powerful stories. Somebody's watching you. Wait.

  513. See while you're testifying and saying, I'm believing God for this,

  514. I'm believing God for that. Somebody's watching you. And because

  515. they're watching you, they're watching the way that you wait.

  516. They're watching the way that you keep pushing, the way

  517. that you may cry, and you still worship. You may

  518. be delayed, but you are not denying. You keep on waiting,

  519. You don't give up. Keep on waiting and telling people

  520. what you're waiting for, and then when it shows, tell

  521. them what you're seeing. The takeaway is this the way

  522. you wait today may give someone else hope tomorrow. Wait, well,

  523. because somebody's watching. You catch this real quick. Simeon and

  524. Anna are both old.

  525. Now I know.

  526. The scriptures are so raw. That's how it says. It

  527. says they're old. Right, they're old with no chaser, right,

  528. because you know, we say, oh, they were seasoned, they

  529. were mature, they had seen many years. No the scriptures

  530. that said she was old. But check this out. They

  531. see the baby, but they don't get to see the

  532. redemption on the cross. Chances are they had already died

  533. by time Jesus went to the cross. When Jesus rose

  534. from the grave, they had not seen the fulfillment of

  535. what they were waiting for.

  536. They only got a glimpse. Oh help me, Holy Spirit.

  537. They only got to see a glimpse of it. I

  538. want to let you know you may not get to

  539. see the fulfillment of all that you have prayed for

  540. and believed God for. You may not get to see

  541. that sun fully restored into the kingdom. You may not

  542. get to see that healing or experience those things.

  543. But let me let you know something. Today, God will

  544. give you a glimpse.

  545. It would be thirty years before Jesus would even go

  546. into ministry. They didn't get to see the multitude fed,

  547. the healing lad is being raised from the dead, but

  548. they got a glimpse because the Holy.

  549. Spirit revealed that this is the Christ, This is Christ,

  550. This is the Christ.

  551. And why is Christmas not over? Because Christmas means more Christ.

  552. I pray more Christ for you, more Christ in your life,

  553. more Christ in your family, more Christ in your experience.

  554. As you are walking.

  555. Through that you will experience more of Christ each day

  556. as we enter this new year, as we stand at

  557. the doorway of a new year, I want to encourage.

  558. You with this.

  559. If you are tired, keep trusting. If you are restless,

  560. slow down. If you are waiting, please, my brother, please,

  561. my sister, wait well, Simeon and Anna show us how.

  562. But the scriptures tell us best, for those who wait

  563. upon the.

  564. Lord shall renew their strength.

  565. If I went further, they shall mount up on wings

  566. as eagles.

  567. They shall walk and not be weary. They shall run

  568. and not think.

  569. They shall not fall apart. They will not fall apart.

  570. Because if you will wait on the Lord, stand on

  571. your feet with me this morning. If you would, I'm

  572. so glad They that we're here this morning together in

  573. one service. But I know some of us in this

  574. room you feel like you could faint, some of you

  575. feel weary.

  576. Keep waiting on the Lord. Don't stop waiting. It's not.

  577. What he produces, but it's who he is. If you

  578. don't get another job, wait on the Lord. If the

  579. report comes back bad, wait on the Lord.

  580. If the situation doesn't shift, Wait on the Lord.

  581. If it's confusing and you don't know which way to turn,

  582. wait on the Lord. Lord where he will renew your strength. Friends, family,

  583. you are stronger.

  584. Than you know you are because your strength is in

  585. the Lord. He will give you strength to endure.

  586. This morning, we're going to transition into anointing, and anointing

  587. is a time where we come together and we anoint

  588. with oil, and the oil is the symbolism of the

  589. presence of the Holy Spirit. Some of us are waiting

  590. in some things that we just need the presence of

  591. the Holy Spirit in our lives. We got some situations,

  592. we're dealing with, some circumstances.

  593. And we need the Lord this morning.

  594. If you are in a waiting period and this is

  595. something you've been waiting on, just like Simeon maybe you'll

  596. consider being anointed today. Those who will be assisting us

  597. with anointing will be on these aisles. But if you

  598. want to be anointed, you would come down the center aisle,

  599. and our sister will direct you which way to go.

  600. Let us pray.

  601. Father, we don't mind waiting though you made harry. Lord,

  602. we will wait though we have no answers today.

  603. We will wait because we are waiting.

  604. On you, waiting on your return, waiting on the moment

  605. when we.

  606. Get to see your face. Lord, give us the endurance

  607. of Simeon, and give us the spirit of worship like Anna,

  608. that while we wait we praise you both day and night.

  609. Lord, encourage the waiting soul today that we won't look

  610. lose sight of what you are doing in us. We

  611. trust you, and we have the faith to wait in

  612. Jesus' name. Amen, The anointing lines are open.

  613. Thank you, Lord,
