  1. Good morning. I just see what the title was. I

  2. didn't write on my notes. So this morning is the

  3. last set in the season, Foundations of Faith. All right, oh,

  4. one next week. I'll got it wrong one next week.

  5. I'm just praying about this. The Lord gave me a

  6. foundational scripture, which was Matthew seven twenty four through twenty seven,

  7. and they also gave me a children's story, which is interesting.

  8. I don't retually get children's stories. Thank you, well, hold

  9. this bit. We welcome you. Take these words, use them

  10. for your glow. Sory touched people's hearts and life this

  11. morning him. So let's have a read of Matthew seven

  12. twenty four through to twenty seven, reading from the new

  13. King James version. Therefore, whether he hears these sayings of

  14. mine and does them, I liken him to a wise

  15. man who built his house on the rock, and the

  16. rain descended, the floods came, the winds blew and beat

  17. on that house, and it did not fall. It was

  18. it was far. It's founded on the rock. But everyone

  19. hears these sayings of mine and does not do them,

  20. will be like a foolish man who built his house

  21. on the sand and the rain descended, the floods came,

  22. the winds blue and beat on that house, and it fell,

  23. and great was its fall. Jesus previously in Matthew seven,

  24. had talked about not judging others, doing to us what

  25. he wanted you to do to them. It's about the

  26. narrow way, how to live and will know people buy

  27. their fruits. Yeah, then they said, if you do these sayings,

  28. you're good. If you don't do these sayings, it's don't

  29. going to work out for you. So from a building

  30. point of view, I know a lot about this, so

  31. that's an advantage. When you build on a rock, isn't

  32. going anywhere. I could ask Day to come and talk

  33. about geology for twenty minutes, but I won't do that

  34. because they have studied geology. Rocks are foundational. They do

  35. not move. When we build on the sand that will

  36. shift when you eat. Some commentary it talks about people

  37. that actually build on the river beds in the summer,

  38. and obviously in the river beds in the summer it

  39. was dry, but in the winter, when the rain came,

  40. the floods would wash what they built away. Jesus said,

  41. I will build my church and the gates of Hell

  42. will not prevail against it. You know, in life, sometimes

  43. we build on the sand. We build relationships on the sand.

  44. We build our plans on the sand. We take no

  45. care or no thought should I say or what the

  46. Lord is saying. Yeah, Jesus said, I will build my church,

  47. and the gates of Hell will not prevail against it.

  48. Jesus builds on the rock. It's a lot harder to

  49. build on the rock because you've you've got to chip

  50. things away to get a level foundation. On the signs,

  51. you can hike it out or dig it out quite

  52. quickly and get a quick result. Fyi, Jesus is not

  53. interested in getting quick results in our lives. He's interested

  54. in building on revelation, knowledge and getting to the point

  55. where we can be successful. Jesus said, if you hear

  56. and do the sayings that I have said, you'll like them.

  57. How builds his house on the rock. Yes, Jesus speaks

  58. to us today. It speaks us through the word of God,

  59. the living Word of God. I've heard many times Dave

  60. talk about this is my handbook for life when he

  61. did the assemblies for the school children. And God wants

  62. to remind us that anything we do in life. We

  63. need to base it on the word of God or

  64. else it will not be successful. You know, the higher

  65. that you build, the better the foundation and the more

  66. complex structure. Nay, two story dwelling. The foundations are typically

  67. I think about a meter deep for a strip foot

  68. in at about six inches deep for people who are

  69. no met no imperial. When you build a skyscraper, those

  70. foundations are piled and they can go down meters. Yeah,

  71. that's had all like to say this. God is building

  72. a complex structure when he builds us. So the foundations

  73. are deep. So let's talk about the three Little pigs.

  74. Does anybody know the three little pigs? Yeah? I'm not

  75. sure that if that translates to Indian or African, I

  76. don't know. I didn't check, does it? Yeah's Jonathan? They

  77. translated the three Little pigs? No, okay, okay, So I'm

  78. just going to summarize this rather than read it all out. Okay,

  79. So we have three little pigs who built houses of

  80. different materials, and there was a big bad wolf in

  81. this story who came to huff and puff and blow

  82. the houses down. Okay, that's the that's the basis. The

  83. first pig was lazy, and impatient, and he quickly built

  84. a house of straw so he could go and play.

  85. The second pig was more careful, but still lazy, and

  86. he built a house of sticks. The third little pig

  87. was wise and hard working and spent his time building

  88. a sturdy house of bricks. So the hungry, big bad

  89. wolf came along looking for dinner, and he approached each

  90. house one by one. So obviously he huffed and he puffed,

  91. and he blew down the house of straw. So the

  92. pig from the house of straw pegged it to his brother,

  93. and they both huddling in the house of sticks, and

  94. of course the big bad wolf came again, and he

  95. huffed and he puffed, and he blew that house down

  96. to So then they pegged it again to their other brother,

  97. who was the wise guy who built his house out

  98. of brick. And obviously, guy guy, the wolf puffed and

  99. he puffed, and he couldn't blow that brick house down.

  100. So I thought, I'll go down the chimney and I

  101. would say the bright pig put a big pot of

  102. water on the fire, so that the wolf landed in

  103. the pot of water, and I say that was the

  104. end of him. So why do they share that. I'm

  105. not used to telling stories in the preach, but it's

  106. what the Holy Spirit game is, so I went with it.

  107. That's the best thing to do. In the Kingdom of God.

  108. It's important what we build on, how we build with

  109. what we build when it comes to our spiritual development. Okay,

  110. when we're born again, we're all brand new and it's

  111. all very nice and lovely. But God's aim is to

  112. make his church without spot or wrinkle or any such

  113. thing Asians five twenty seven. So that means that we

  114. are his workmanship. He works us, He shapes us, he

  115. molds us, he chips away at us, he belts away

  116. at us sometimes if he needs to to make something

  117. which is fit for purpose. So he deals with our

  118. hard hearts. He deals with the challenge that we've had

  119. in life as a journey. Everyone has their own journey

  120. in life, and everyone starts somewhere and everyone ends somewhere.

  121. God's plan is that we run our race that day,

  122. said a couple of weeks ago, finish our course. So

  123. to do that, he's got to shape us. He's got

  124. to mold us. He's got to take us on that journey.

  125. So today I was going to talk about three principles,

  126. how God does what God does, and then depend how

  127. it plays. We'll see what the Holy bit wants to

  128. do with us as individuals and as a collective. Is

  129. that okay? That was just the introduction three or four pigs.

  130. So what we build on simple answers, we build on

  131. the living word of God profits for twenty to twenty

  132. two says my son, give attention to my word. Inclineate

  133. here to my sayings. Do not let them depart from

  134. your eyes, keeping them in the midst of your heart,

  135. for they are life to those that find them, and

  136. their health to all their flesh. Proverbs from twenty to

  137. twenty two. Attend to his words, do not letting them

  138. depart from your eyes, keeping in the midst of your heart.

  139. It's a well known scripture that I just shared their.

  140. I guess the Lord that's to reinforce today. The word

  141. of God is true. It does not return to him void,

  142. but it will accomplish that which He pleases and prosper

  143. the thing whereunto he sends it, as are fifty five eleven.

  144. You there are many occasions when he has to deal

  145. with something when the people involved haven't spent the time

  146. and given attention to his word. As a consequence, they

  147. get into a situation and they don't know how to

  148. get out of it, and he has to deal with

  149. it graciously. His preference is that we attend to his word,

  150. apply his word by faith, and deal with the situation. Okay,

  151. that's his preference. But God is a gracious god, and

  152. he will do what he needs to do. So it's

  153. a reminder for us to attend to his word. Yeah,

  154. so that when we get into a situation, we know

  155. how to deal with it because the word inside has

  156. comes up and comes out of our mouth. Okay. Proverbs

  157. for twenty to twenty two. My son, give attention to

  158. my words. Incline your ears to my sayings. Do not

  159. let them depart from your eyes. Keep them in the

  160. midst of your heart, for their life, to those that

  161. find them health or medicine, to all their flesh. Other

  162. scripture which say is the same thing. So, Joshua, this

  163. book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth.

  164. It shall not return to you. This book oft not

  165. prought to your mouth. But you shall meditate only day

  166. and night, that you may observe and do according to

  167. all that's written in it. But then you shall make

  168. your way prosperous, and then you have good success. Joshua

  169. was a man who had to step in somebody's big shoes.

  170. Moses by all the council as a big boy, a

  171. big tall guy, and Joshua had to take on the

  172. responsibility of leading Israel people who had their own ideas,

  173. wanting to make golden calves and do it their own way.

  174. God's abjunction to joshuas don't let this book of the

  175. Law out of here, out of your arm, but it

  176. on in day and night. They may be prosperous and

  177. sexual to do what I want you to do. So

  178. the Lord was encouraged this morning to just do that.

  179. Don't wait till something comes around the corner where that's stress,

  180. that's tension, or that sickness. He wants us to be prepared. Yeah,

  181. so wants us to use the word of God when

  182. we build. John fifteen, verse seven says, m hmmm, if

  183. you abide in me and my words, abide in you,

  184. if you will ask what you design, and it will

  185. be done for you. If you abide in me and

  186. my words, abiding you, you will ask what you design,

  187. it will be done for you. That's Jesus speaking. So

  188. I picked up some scriptures of those show me through

  189. through the Bible. But there's a thread if you go

  190. from Genesis to Revelations, a thread about we should prioritize

  191. the word of God to be successful, to overcome. Let's face,

  192. we've all got challenges in life. I'm not going to

  193. have a show. Go for a showhands. We've all got

  194. stuff we need to deal with. Which nests you don't

  195. actually talk about with people because it's something that's sometimes

  196. ongoing and long or complicated or not easy to talk

  197. about to share with you. You know, you maybe your

  198. your your prayer partners you hang with. But God wants

  199. us to prioritize his word. Yeah, it helps him to

  200. build when we prioritize the word. Yeah, it helps him

  201. to build. God builds with us. You know, we are

  202. the material he builds with. If you prioritize the word,

  203. he can shape us and molders, He can smooth off

  204. those rough edges. How we build. How we build we

  205. build guided and directed by the Holy spirituals, as Holy

  206. Spirit who teached us all things to Crinton's three verse

  207. eighteen says but we are all with unveiled faces, beholding

  208. as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are

  209. being transformed into the same image, from glory to glory,

  210. just as by the spirit of the Lord, we are

  211. being transformed from glory to glory. It's like a sculpture

  212. takes a block of marble and he sees in the

  213. marble what he's going to create, and then he takes

  214. the hammer and the chisels and he shapes the marble

  215. to get the rough shape, and he starts to go

  216. into slightly more detail, and he creates the curves and

  217. the shapes of the I think he wants to create,

  218. and then he starts to polish and shape it so

  219. that it's not smooth, and jagab, it's a nice smooth curve.

  220. It's like that when a thought takes us. We have

  221. a big block, and he sees in his mind eye

  222. what he wants to create, because he shows us before

  223. the foundation of the earth, and he knows what your plan,

  224. he knows what your purpose is, and he shapes us

  225. for that plan, and he shapes us for that purpose

  226. because he wants us to ruin our race. The stone

  227. doesn't have to surrender because it's just it's a block

  228. of stone, so it's not going to it's not going anywhere.

  229. But we need to surrender. We sing lots of worship

  230. songs about I surrender all etcetera, etcetera, etcetera, and it

  231. comes out of here, but sometimes not in here. Take

  232. the mask off today. Yes it is war warning, isn't it. Yeah,

  233. he just needs to take the mask off today and

  234. recognize that God doesn't look at the outward appearance. He

  235. looks at the heart. We may be able to who

  236. converse with the people. Everything is good, I'm cool here, right, yeah, yeah, good,

  237. thank you lovely. But in you know, God sees our

  238. heart and God works with our heart, so we need

  239. to surrender to allow him to shape and toom mold us.

  240. You know. Typically speaking, we deal with things like the rejection, anxiety, loneliness, pride, inferiority, rebellion, hurt, insecurity,

  241. all that sort of stuff, depending where you've come from,

  242. can need to be dealt with. Unlike the statue, God

  243. deals with that a lot of these things are heart conditions,

  244. which means that we've got to do something. We've got

  245. to forgive, we've got to surrender We've got to see

  246. things from God's perspective so he can change us. And

  247. that can be quite challenging. That can be some ouch moments,

  248. but you know that's the way he does it. So

  249. want to hurt us, but he wants to transformers so

  250. that we have good roots with good fruits. Jesus talks

  251. seeing John fifteen about abide in the vine and how

  252. we dick clip the vine, got it right back so

  253. it bores more excellent fruits. Sometimes God's got to go

  254. down to the root and root the issue so it

  255. doesn't manifest. Yes the game. Yeah, if we've got a

  256. root of hurt or bitterness, only he can deal with that.

  257. I bet he needs his our cooperation to do that.

  258. Typically everyone can be fine for a while and then

  259. God brings something. Look to us, Hey, I just want

  260. to talk to you about this. We talked about two

  261. years ago, and hey, we didn't deal with it. Then

  262. I thinks about time we deal with it. Now it's

  263. like it goes around the mountain again. It's like we're

  264. not going to go anywhere. Do we deal with this

  265. particular issue, simon what we're going to do about it?

  266. And then and then you said, am I ready to

  267. do with that issue now. I'm not going to just

  268. put it behind me, so I don't see it. God

  269. wants his body to be healthy. Yeah. The title this

  270. preach was I will build my church. Yeah, I will

  271. build my church. Jesus interested. He's not interested in embarrass anybody.

  272. What is interesting is getting people to where they need

  273. to be, to be successful, to be a whole. What

  274. do you like to do with to say, Hey, this

  275. is Dave as an example, this is how it was,

  276. this is how he is. Now look what I have

  277. done in this man's life and his family. Go. That

  278. is not the same person we grew up with. Yeah,

  279. David is a man of God that God has shaped

  280. and mode as an example. Yeah, he's not the same man.

  281. I would suggest that Jull you are married because has

  282. been shaped and moldered. So in terms that could just

  283. sit into my am. I right. So he wants us

  284. to be healthy and without spot and about wrinkle. So

  285. we've got to do our bit. We've got to say yes,

  286. I surrender Seasian five twenty seven. I've re mentioned this

  287. before that it might present her to himself as a

  288. glorious church not having spot or wrinkle. Or any short thing. Well,

  289. that she should be holy and without blemish. So we

  290. as a collective need to be holy and without blemish.

  291. And each step is a miracle. Right, we are the

  292. sort of like the substance. He takes, He shapes and modes.

  293. So how we build, we build with the Holy Spirit.

  294. He helps us, He works with us. He's there constantly

  295. twenty four to seven with us, going through all the

  296. stuff that we go through. And if we surrender our

  297. lives to God and walk with him, he gets us

  298. through those situations and circumstances. Because we have a choice

  299. of how we react to a circumstance and a situation.

  300. We can react by faith, or we can react by fear.

  301. As an example, we can be gracious, or the old

  302. man can raise up and we can have a moment

  303. of canality. So what we build with we build with faith,

  304. hope and love. Faith, hope and love, these are all

  305. spiritual forces, and therefore they come from God. We don't

  306. go down saying bersin and by them they are from God. Remember,

  307. faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

  308. It's a spiritual force. We receive revelation as we apply

  309. our faith to the word of God. It's like using

  310. the muscle. The more you use it, the stronger it becomes.

  311. The less you use it, you know it's not there

  312. when you need it. God wants us to apply our

  313. faith to every situation. He wants us to persevere. Do

  314. we get the manifestations of what we are believing for? Okay?

  315. Because he wants that church without spot or wrinkle or

  316. any such thing. Hope is like earnest expectation Hebrews eleven.

  317. Now faith as a substances things. Hope for the evidence

  318. of things not seen. For by it, the elders obtained

  319. a good report by faith. You understand, the worlds were

  320. framed by the word of God, so that things which

  321. are seen were not made of things which aren't visible.

  322. This is how God does stuff. Haven't got time today

  323. to talk about that. You can read the scriptures yourself.

  324. I haven't look at the podcast later. But God wants

  325. us to understand these principles. He wants her to apply

  326. these principles. Yeah, He wants to take a step back

  327. and look at the bigger picture, where we are as

  328. an individual and where we are in His body. Right,

  329. God's got a lot of stuff to do it's not

  330. difficult for him, but it makes a lot easier for

  331. him when we are doing our part. We all have

  332. our part to do. Everybody. Nobody's excluded Love and now abides, faith, hope, love,

  333. these three. But the greatest of these is love one

  334. Corinthians thirteen thirteen. Without love one Crintain's thirteen wance is

  335. without God. Without love, we're like a sound in brass

  336. or a clanging symbol. Possibly one of the most preached

  337. about topics, Jus said that you'll know, they will know

  338. that you are my disciples if you love one another.

  339. For God's loved the world. He gave his only begotten son.

  340. There were believes in him shall not perish, but have

  341. everlasting life. For God so loved the world. So it's

  342. a bit like God straplin, isn't it. I loved you

  343. a lot, so Jesus came. But I want you to

  344. walk in love to love suffers long and is kind.

  345. Love does not envy. Love does not parade itself. It's

  346. not puffed up. It does not behave rudely, does not

  347. seek its own. It is not provoked thinks no evil.

  348. Does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoice us in the truth,

  349. braying all things, believe in all things, hopes in all things,

  350. endures all things. Love never fails One Corinthians thirteen four

  351. to eight. We can't walk in love until goes down

  352. with our heart, because otherwise we're walking with a limp.

  353. A little while ago, I was going from our kitchen

  354. into our living room and I got there some lights,

  355. some glass doors, and I kicked it with nothing on

  356. my feet and jumping up and down because it was

  357. so and he went black and he went blue. H

  358. and uh, it's hard to wear no a pair of shoes.

  359. And I had to put my foot down. I thought,

  360. I'm just gonna go on with this, just get on

  361. with it, put my foot down and walk on the sofa.

  362. It was uncomfortable. It was uncomfortable. Sometimes I said that

  363. to say this. Sometimes God wants to do something that's uncomfortable.

  364. You know, walking in love sometimes isn't comfortable. Yeah. Sometimes

  365. we've got to lay that song. Do you see that

  366. song this morning? Later down? Yeah? Good choice. It's like

  367. I got later down and just get on with him.

  368. I got to crucify the flesh wherever you want to.

  369. How we're going to put him all these things that

  370. I'm talking about this morning are potentially ouch moments for us,

  371. you know, but you know it's good to get the

  372. mask off, good get the reality. God wants us to

  373. succeed in what we do in the world, right, He

  374. does not want us to fail. Rich Gowers here last

  375. week he talked about a finishes anointing. So you'll finish

  376. your race. Yeah, you finish your race. You see those

  377. things on the TV. Don't wear. Some blokes running to

  378. ours ennything marathon and his legs have just gone. It's

  379. like all over the shop and it just tries to

  380. go to thee and then people run past him. And

  381. then there's one clip I saw where some bloats stopped

  382. literally helped him over the line. God wants us to finish.

  383. He wants us to finish well. He doesn't want us

  384. to wobble. He wants us to run our course with purpose,

  385. all right, So that means that he's got to do

  386. some open high surgery. He's got to deal with some

  387. stuff in our lives. And we're all different. We are

  388. all different, and nobody here is the same. No to

  389. the carbon copy for you've got twins. I used to

  390. school with twins, and they used to be. The two

  391. lads are the same, but they had different characters. So

  392. after all you knew who was who because one wouldn't

  393. say what the one said. Because you get to know

  394. the person, not the image. God sees past what we

  395. project to who we really are. You cannot HiPE from God.

  396. That's FYI. And news flash, you cannot hide from God.

  397. You cannot HiPE from God. Yeah, some people in this

  398. room want to need to hear that today you cannot

  399. HiPE from God. God is here today, and if you

  400. want to do business with God today, he will do

  401. business with you. If you don't, he won't. That's the

  402. way he works. He sets up I wouldn't say God sneak,

  403. because that'd be that be unreasonable. But he sets up

  404. circumstances and situations to be able to deal with something

  405. in our lives. And it's to us to go and

  406. press the button and then it just plays. We can go, yes,

  407. I'll deal with that. Now we can go oh no, no, no,

  408. I don't deal with that. That's just too soft, too

  409. uncomfortable with me. Right now, everything is built on love.

  410. I was just friended the Holy Spirit. He'll work in

  411. our lives. He'll move in our lives. H I've asked

  412. him Maniger, just to come and play. I've talked about

  413. a lot of difficult things. To be fair, I didn't

  414. choose us such a matter. I just did as I

  415. was asked. I'll do what got Tom to do. I'll

  416. go go out times to go. That's what I signed

  417. up to. So that just bring this to a close now.

  418. Consciously at the time. If God's been speaking to your

  419. heart today and you know you want you want He

  420. wants to do with something, and you're open to deal

  421. with it, I invite you to deal with it. I'm

  422. asking you to come to the front. I'm not trying

  423. to embarrass anybody. That's not what I want to do.

  424. I just wouldn't want to do that. God might do that,

  425. or I don't do that. I'll let you ask me.

  426. But what we'll do if you God's wants, if goes

  427. working your life and you want to stand up, I

  428. will pray for you. And other than them people they

  429. assume God is speaking to and you know if that

  430. see you, if you want to go for it. People

  431. are interested in you. They just want you to receive

  432. what God wants you to receive. And to move forward.

  433. So we'll play for a few minutes, a couple of minutes,

  434. and then I'll pray. I'll pray anyway. If you're not

  435. standing with me, not standing up with that's spitching you

  436. and God. Okay, m
