Faith and the Word

Tenacity in you Father. I pray that Lord, as she's prepared,

as you've son seen in her heart, Lord, it would

be scattered into our lives, that our hearts and ears

be open and ready in Jesus' name.

Amen, Praise God. I received that pastor day that was good.

Are you ready? This is celebration Sunday? Come on, not

refine your face? All right? Hallelujah? Praise God.

Is always a joy, always a joy to bring the

message of the Lord.

Amen.

So this is our last Sunday, isn't it? For the

Foundation series? The basics of new life. You know, you

can't have a new life if you don't have the

right tools.

It can't be a new creation without the right equipment.

And God is so good because it's given us too

one wonderful things.

He's given us a lot of things.

I don't know if you were here when we talk

about the spiritual toolkit.

There's so many things that God gave us.

But these two main ingredients that will help us carry

through our lives as we navigate our new life.

Amen.

That is faith and the Word of God, two very

important things. And if you master this two, you're on

your way to the victorious, supernatural, abundant life the Jesus

gave for you, for me, for all of us.

Amen. Amen, Faith and the Word.

Are joined together. You cannot take them apart from each other.

They are directly linked to each other. The Word gives

power and authority, and faith activates that power and authority.

Amen. There is already power and authority.

In the world of God, but we need to execute

that power and authority.

It's like a car and a driver. Right.

The car has everything it has in order to make

the journey. You've got the engine, you've got the fuel,

you've got the battery already already to take you somewhere.

But it doesn't run without the driver. Man.

The driver is the one who makes and starts the

car and makes it move and goes to your destination.

Do you agree? Allelujah?

So the car is the Word and the driver is faith.

Both are necessary to reach the destination. They're both necessary.

You need both of them. Without the driver, the car

won't go anyware. It's not that it's.

Not useless, but it's just not being utilized. You still

got the car and it's perfect, but it's not being

utilized Without the car. On the other hand, where will

you go? The driver has no means to make the journey.

Of course you can walk, but it might not take

you very far, so you only go along a short way.

So do you see? We need both.

We need faith and the Word of God. Faith is

the beginning of life. It is the beginning of our

new life when we become born again. By the way,

if you haven't been saved, or if you haven't accepted

the Lord personally.

In your life, let us know. And it's important.

It's important because this is the start a new life.

We need to have this new life that God wants

for us.

We all know that faith is essential for being born again. Right.

Ephicients two, verses eight to nine says, for by grace,

you have been saved through faith.

It's not what you do. It's not how good you are.

It's not how much you work, or it's not how

much you give to other people. It's not only that

these are good things.

By the way, these are good things, but it's not

enough to give you salvation.

We need grace, and grace works through faith. Amen. We

need to believe that. And the Bible's definition.

Of faith is in Hebrews eleven, verse one. We probably

know all this already. Faith shows the reality of what

we hope for. It is the evidence of things we

cannot see. Now this is important, Okay, this is important.

Faith has three components.

What is number one? We must have hope. This is

where it starts. Amen. If you don't hope for anything,

then you.

Need faith probably, And then there's the invisible part. Ooh,

this is what's hard, isn't it When you cannot see,

when you're uncertain, when you don't know. But this is

essential part of faith. Without it, you don't need faith.

If you see something already, do you need faith for that?

You don't. If you have it already, do you need

faith for that? No, you don't. Right.

It is when you don't have something and then you

cannot even see.

You don't even know.

When it's coming, what's going to be in the future.

So this invisible part is an essential component of faith.

So you've got hope, you've got.

The invisible, and then you've got the evidence.

Whoa.

This is the best part, isn't it When your hope

suddenly manifests and becomes an evidence and the substance of

what you're hoping for.

It's now reality.

Okay, So if you think of a line between hope

and the evidence as a straight line, these are the

two points. The starting point is your hope when you're

wanting something, you're hoping for something, and the end point

is the evidence or the substance or the demonstration or

the fulfillment of what you're hoping for. That line between

the two end points, the invisible pie up, what you

call space, is where faith resides. This is where faith resides.

Faith resides in the waiting. It lives there, and that

is where we need to be mindful of. And this

is where the battle begins. Amen, This space between these

two points is where the battle begins.

Most of us, some of us.

And perhaps all of us at some point could not

endure that space, and we give up, and we never

see the evidence of what we hope for. We just

grow weary, we get tired because it's just too long.

Lord, it's just too long. But we need to endure.

We need to endure, be steadfast, be firm, stay in

that space with expectation, with hope, because God will see

us through.

And that is where the other component is.

Amen, there is a partnership between us and God.

God is not going.

To allow us to be helpless, but He has a

partnership with us.

Where is that partnership?

God will equip us.

With faith.

So that we can endure that space where we have

to be at. He gave each one a measure of faith.

It's like a deposit. God puts a deposit in us

so that we have something to start with. Isn't it good?

It's not completely empty everyone. The Bible says in Romans

twelve three. God has dealt with us a measure of faith, so.

We all have that. No one can say I don't

have faith. We do.

We have, But God wants us to partner with him.

Our faith is meant to grow. It's meant to grow.

God cannot make it grow. He gave us a deposit already, Amen,

a down payment. We need to cultivate that faith. And

how do we cultivate that? This is where our part

comes in. Okay, this is our part, and we need

to improve, cultivate, develop, add to what.

God has given us.

Faith grows when we continually hear, meditate, and apply.

The word of God. Romans ten seventeen. Amen. Faith comes

from hearing and hearing the word of God. Amen. So

if you want to cultivate that faith. You have to

hear always the word of God. It's that simple. That's

where it comes from.

Where it changes, it becomes bigger, stronger, and deeper.

And faith is perfected when.

Our eyes remain on Jesus Hebrews twelve two. Jesus is

the one who initiates and perfects our faith.

Amen. The moment we take our eyes.

Off of Jesus, our faith begins to weaken. Right, it goes,

it dies. We already saw what happened to Peter when

he was walking on water. Right, as long as he

his eyes were fixed on Jesus, he was doing the impossible.

But the moment he looked at the waves and the wind,

he began to sink.

That's the same thing. That's the same thing.

Faith cannot survive where fear dominates, and fear comes when

we take our eyes off of Jesus. So this is

where the word comes in. Word is the foundation of

our faith. Amen, How do we make Jesus tangible in

our everyday lives? You can't see Jesus. Yes, you can

talk to him, but he's not gonna talk to you back.

He does in a small, still voice. But how do

we make him tangible.

Through the word.

Through the word John one, verse verses one to fourteen,

the word became flesh.

In the beginning, the word was, the word was there.

Then the word was with God, and the word became flesh.

We all know who that is. Amen. So the Word

of God is Jesus himself.

Do we, I mean, can we even fathom that that

the Word is Jesus himself, that when we read it

we're talking and speaking and hearing and being instructed by

Jesus himself. So the best way to know Jesus is

through the Word.

Through the word.

There's no other way. Of course, there are things that

you could do, like you know, but the main thing

is through the world, because you're talking to him directly.

He is the one we do not need to physically

see him because he speaks to us through his word.

This is why if we truly want to know Jesus,

we must read the Bible.

That's why it's there.

It's so beautiful, it's so amazing, it's like a whole.

When I first read the Bible, it was like a

whole new universe open to.

Me that I never knew about. That was the impact

that had on me.

Without the revelation and the understanding that Jesus and the

Word are one.

He will never.

Take prominence in our lives. He will always take a

back seat in our everyday life, in our schedules, in

our confusions, in our worries, in our circumstances.

The Word will always be the last one in our

lineup of things to do.

But if we can understand that Jesus is the Word,

then he will take that first place in your heart

and in your day. Without the knowledge of scriptures, our

faith will never be strong.

Enough to endure trials.

It will never be Jesus rebuke the statuses because they

lack understanding of both scripture and God's power.

Matthew twenty two, Verse two nine.

Jesus said, you Satases, you priest, You know who who

knows everything about the law. You do not know the

scriptures and the power of God. Why did he say

scripture first and not power of God? Because the power

of God is in the scriptures.

Hey, man, it is in the scripture.

There is a direct connection between knowing the Word and

the power of God. If you knew the Word, you

have the power of God working in you.

Isn't that amazing?

Isn't that something that we should really look forward to

and just really utilize the power. Don't let the car

sit there idly with everything in it, Drive it, Drive it.

You know. In the natural world, the word is a

written contract.

Right. The word of God's is the guarantee that he

will do exactly what he says. You know, in this

world everything is about written contracts.

Don't you agree you read a house, you need a disagreement.

You buy a house, you need a purchase agreement. You

have a service, you get a service provider. Everything is

a written contract. Why Because a written contract.

Gives you the proof and the legal assurance for both

parties to perform their duties. The word is our legal

contract with God. It is Heaven's guarantee to us. Amen,

can you get that? It is our guarantee that we

can present to God. Look, you said this, you said

you will do this, You said you.

Will give me this, you said you will perform this.

It is the Heaven's guarantee to us.

It is the proof of his promises, backed by his

character and nature. And because God cannot lie, his word

cannot fail. If I ask pastor Dave, Pastor Dave, can

you lend me five hundred pounds?

Please? Can you lend me five hundred pastor? And Pastor

Dave said, of course I can. Of course I can't.

Oh, I'm gonna start rejoicing even if he hasn't given

the money yet.

Why Why is that?

Because I know him, because I know his character, I

know he's a man of God, and I can trust him.

I'm gonna start rejoicing the moment he says that, even

if he hasn't given me the money yet, because I

trust him, I know his nature, I know his character.

I know he's a man of God, and he's just

a man.

But we got himself.

When God says I will provide for you, I will

give you everything you need. You can ask me for

anything you wish, and you shall have it. Sometimes we

don't believe it. If I say I will heal you

by my stripes, you are healed.

Sometimes we doubt it. But it's God himself.

And yet with a man, we can trust somebody for

his word.

Amen, So we must trust God.

This is why the word will never return void and empty.

I say fifty five to eleven, my word goes out

from my mouth. It will never return empty. It will

always accomplish what He intended it to do.

For our lives.

It will always do that, no matter what happens, it

will always do that because God watches over his word

to perform it. He watches every word, and he makes

sure he's gonna do it, and he will.

And he will.

But we need to say to sit in that waiting

period when we don't see things happen yet, and when

we have the Word, we have the guarantee that heaven

will perform. Heaven will perform. So we have faith and

the word. So if we combine them together, what does

it really mean. It means we must have faith in

the Word.

That's what it means. We must have faith in the Word.

Jesus fought the devil and one in Matthew, for remember

the temptation. Three times the devil tempted him, and three

times he.

Answered him in scriptures.

Now, when I was thinking about this, yes, it's said

in the Bible in Matthew that Jesus answered him in

the scripture. But I said, okay, let me just check

if that scripture that Jesus said is really in the Bible.

Of course it is right, But I just wanted to

see physically because they didn't have bibles. Then they didn't

have bibles then, so I said, where is this when

Jesus said, man shall not live by bread alone, but

by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

Because that's what his first answer. Do you know where

that was that exact code. It was in Deuteronomy, Deuteronomy

chapters eight. So the rest of them are there really

in Deuteronomy Praise God.

Jesus cannot lie.

And then in the third temptation, this is what's interesting, guys,

Jesus said to them, okay, the third one. You know,

Jesus just got tired of the devil tempting him, so

he said, oh, away.

From me, sayan, he just got tired.

Of his temptation, for it is written you shall worship

the Lord your God.

And you know what happened. The devil left him. That's

what we need to say. Away from Satan, you know

we should say that. In other translation, it says get

out of here, Satan.

Jesus said that, you know, when the enemy invades our lives,

fight with the word of God and.

He will leave us.

Don't let him oppress you, don't let him torment you.

We have an arsenal of weapons. We have the sword

of the Spirit. According to Ephesian six.

These are all the words of God. This is what

we fight with.

Imagine a stranger coming to your house. Imagine a stranger

coming to your house and saying, knack knack, I want

to live here, bringing all the things inside your house.

What's going on? Who are you? You have no right

to live here. He has no authority over our lives.

What are we gonna do.

We need to fight him, get him out of our lives,

and we do it with the sword of the Spirit,

the word of God. Jesus came to give us life,

life that is overflowing, life that is full and even overflowing.

But the devil doesn't want us to have that kind

of life. So we must fight him. We must fight

him that only, and he can only be driven away

by the word of God. So know the word and

learn to fight back. We are in a spiritual battle.

We are not in a playground.

Every day.

There's a battle going on in our lives, and we

must fight.

We're not fighting with flesh and blood.

You're not fighting with your ball, You're not fighting with

your husband or wife. You're not fighting with your children.

You're not fighting with your whoever, even your friends, your family.

You're fighting with spiritual forces of darkness, and we must

learn to fight.

Amen. So faith in the world is what we need

to have. The Word gives God's.

Promise, and faith, faith lays hold of that promise until

it becomes a reality. The authority is in the world

and the movement is in faith. That's how we move

the authority.

Allelujah.

The word will give us direction, but faith will give

us demonstration. Faith does not work independently from the word.

True Biblical faith is faith in what God says.

It's faith in what God says, not when.

With with what our neighbor says, not with some other

people says. It's in the word of God. Whatever God says,

that is what we believe. Don't trust the bad report.

Trust the good report of God. Sometimes we trust, we

give trust more to the bad report, more than the

good report.

We shouldn't do that.

Keep your eyes on Jesus through his word, through his word,

and in time the evidence will appear, the evidence of

our faith. Since becoming born again, my life has always

been ruled by words because this is how it is

the only way I know to overcome every trial, every

challenge in my life. That's the only way I cannot

fight anywhere anyway else. I share to you before that

I survived ninety eleven because of one word of God

Proverbs three five to six. That word brought me to safety,

carried me through that horrible time. My prayer lists are

always supported with scriptures. If I ask for something, I

need to back it up with the word of God

because that's my guarantee from God that he will do it.

You know, in the Bible, I'm gonna tell you in John.

There are three chapters there where God says you can

ask for anything you wish.

It's like a blank check. God gave us a blank check.

I'm not gonna tell you which chapters. You have to

find that out.

Three chapters he said the same thing, and when he

repeats it three times, that means he's serious. He wants

us to know this, and he wants us to use

this every day. Before I face the world, I declare

the Word of God over my life.

I declare the Word of God over my life. It

becomes my spiritual armor, my protection, so.

That the fiery darts of the enemy will not get

through me, I declare it over my life. You know,

people can believe my age when I tell them why,

because every day I say, even in old age, I

will still produce fruit. I will remain vital and green.

I shall not die before my time. I will live

and not die. I will have a long and satisfying life.

I will be like a tree planted near the water,

whose sleeves stay green, always bearing fruits. These are not

my words. These are the word of God. I can

give you all the verses that pertain to it.

That is the power of the word of God.

When I move to London from the US, completely out

of my comfort zone, completely out of my comfort zone,

I don't have any support system here, but I ask

the Lord to work here. So he granted my request

that the Book of chand the one I told you.

So, I said.

But then I needed to know if this is really

the right one for me. So Lord, please confirm, confirm

for me that this is your will, that I would

move to a place where I have no support system

at all, even though I wanted it and you gave

it to me. I sought a word from God and

he confirmed it to me. In Zachariah ten verse twelve

in the NLT version, Now is.

That a word or what? Amen? That was thirteen years ago.

God cannot be wrong when you ask a word and

you get it, stand on that word. As I was reflecting, Lord,

I don't want to be there, and I don't want

to just give them you know stuff.

I don't want to just I don't want it to

come from me.

Let it come from you. And he gave me a word.

Matthew ten verse twenty, hallelujah.

Do you get it? When you ask the Lord? He

responds and he gives you a word.

And you stand on that word no matter how long

it will take you to see the evidence. You stand

on it like your delight depended on it, and you

will see the evidence, the substance, the manifestation, the demonstration

of your faith.
