-
Good morning.
-
So I'm right thinking day, this a new month, a
-
new series. So the topic is that is gifts.
-
Well they spirit. I welcome you.
-
Please speak to each individual person in here, and the
-
people online and the people later.
-
Thank you. So this is sort of a foundational preach.
-
I titled it every good gift and every perfect gift
-
is from above, which.
-
Is Aims one seventeen.
-
The amplified version says, every good gift and every perfect, free,
-
large and full gift is from above. So every good
-
gift and every perfect, free, large and full. So let's
-
see where the scriptures go today. I know exactly where
-
it's where it's gonna end up. It's one of those
-
sort of preachers. But we're gonna look at some foundacial scriptures,
-
initially about gifts and about who gives those gifts, and
-
then we're going to talk about some fundamentals. Ephesians four,
-
seven and eight, Poor wrote, but to each one of us,
-
grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift. Therefore,
-
he says, when He ascended on high, he let captivity captive.
-
And gave gifts to men.
-
Then it goes on thinks Verse eleven twelve thirteen talks
-
about apostles, prophetes, pastors, teachers, etcetera, etcetera, as those gifts.
-
Acts two thirty eight Peter said, repent, and let every
-
one of you be back tied to the name of
-
Jesus Christ for the remission. You can't translate that forgiveness
-
of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the
-
Holy Spirit. I guess the greatest gift of God that
-
we have.
-
Received is Jesus.
-
And sometimes you get those preachers at Christmas worse and
-
it becomes a big arm colorful red square box with
-
a nice gold driven around, and they talked about the gift.
-
Maybe you've been there Christmas. I've seen that before.
-
John three sixteen says, for God so loved the world
-
that he gave his only son, who ever believes in
-
him shall not perish but have eternal life. Jesus is
-
the greatest gift we're going to ever receive.
-
And if you.
-
Believe today you've all entered through that door. We all
-
come to a point in life where we enter through
-
a door. God brings us to a place in our
-
life where everything seems to disappear and there's a stillness.
-
So we make a decision. We enter through a door,
-
Paul said in Romans ten, verse six. But the rights
-
of faith speaks in this way. Do not say in
-
your heart, who will ascend into heaven, that is to
-
bring Christ down from above, or who will descend into
-
the abyss, that is to bring Christ up from the dead.
-
But what does it say? The word is near you,
-
in your mouth and in your heart. That is the
-
word of faith that we preach that if you confess
-
with your mouth and believe in your heart that God
-
raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For
-
the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth
-
confession is made unto salvation. So that's the door that
-
we went through. If you believe, whether here and whether
-
you're online, that's what.
-
The Lord's nudge me to pray this prayer.
-
To those people who don't know who listening later, listen online,
-
Lord Jesus, I thank you for loving me enough to
-
die for me. I accept that you shed your blood
-
for me on the cross, and I receive you as
-
Lord and Savior.
-
Amen.
-
So if you pray that prayer, drop us a message
-
via the website, since that's the right thing to do
-
this morning. So some maketure for somebody. So back to
-
the preach. So the concept of gift giving came from God.
-
And there's a inherent something within us that we like
-
to receive gifts. Let me ask this question. Who doesn't
-
like to receive gifts? Yeah, it's something in us that
-
got put there that we like to receive gifts.
-
Yeah.
-
And God likes to give gifts. He gave us his
-
son to those who believe. He gave the Holy Spirit.
-
He also gave gifts to men and women to build
-
the church. This is all foundation of stuff. Haven't gotten
-
too the pre shet He gave us the gifts of
-
the Holy Spirit one Corinthians twelve. I just find it
-
on my phone, reading from verse one. Now concerning spiritual
-
gifts or spirituals, brethren, I do not want you to
-
be ignorant. You know that you were gentiles carried away
-
in these dom idols.
-
However you were led.
-
Therefore, I make known to you that no one speaking
-
by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no
-
one can say that Jesus Lord except by the Holy Spirit.
-
There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There
-
are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there
-
are diversities of activities, but it's the same God who
-
works all. In all, but the manifestation of the Spirit
-
is given to each one is given the word of
-
wisdom through the Spirit to another, the word of knowledge
-
through the same spirit to another, Faith by the same
-
spirit to another, gifts of healing by the same spirit
-
to one another to another, the working of miracles to another,
-
prophecy to another, discerning spirits to another, different kinds of
-
tongues to another, the interpretation of tongues but one and
-
the same Spirit is working in all these things, distributing
-
to each one individually as he wills, the gifts of
-
one Corinthians twelve. And the fact all the gifts are
-
all received by faith. If I had a big pile
-
of presence around here, then called you out by name
-
and give you.
-
I gave you a gift.
-
You know that's you have to get off your seat.
-
You've got to come here. You've got to receive the gift.
-
You've got to open the box, and they do, You're
-
going to enjoy that gift.
-
God gives us gifts.
-
His mechanism to come and get it is to perceive
-
it by faith. There's some things that we are born
-
with a natural ability which comes from our family line,
-
and there's some things that got puts in there and
-
have to be developed. So in the conscious of this piece,
-
I'm talking about those things that God gives us, not
-
that it is natural to you. Okay, So when he
-
gives us that gift, like giving some day a big
-
red car and the and and the person's a little child,
-
and he gets into the car, but he can't put
-
his feet on the pedals and you can't really reach
-
the steering wheel. But recom managed to put the key
-
in the ignition. And then the Holy Spirit teaches us
-
how to walk in that gifting and we grow into
-
that gifting. And it's not the work of a man.
-
It is the work of the Holy Spirit, because our
-
glory goes to God. And these gifts work by faith
-
and be the load saying that He's given gifts to
-
this body. But some of those gifts adornment. And like
-
Paul said to Timothy, it's time to stir up the
-
gift of God which is in you through the laying.
-
On of hands. That's on here.
-
That's to Timothy one verse six. It's time to stir
-
up that gift that is in you through the laying
-
of hands. God give us gifts for a purpose. It's
-
not to have a fun time, or it can be fun.
-
Operating the gifts is to build up and edify His body.
-
May be the thought saying it's time to step into
-
your destiny and not to be bound by fear, but
-
to choose to refuse fear and to walk by faith.
-
To those who God is speaking to, Dave Richards wrote.
-
A song a long time ago, I think about nineteen
-
seventy five. I was very young. I was I was
-
very young. Back thank you, it goes. I am building
-
a people of power. I'm making a people of praise
-
that will move through this land by my spirit and
-
will glorify my precious name. The Lord reminded him about
-
that for a purpose. God is building a people of
-
power here because he wants us to move through this
-
land Egham, the university, the local area by his spirit
-
in power. That means everyone needs to be in the
-
right place at the right time. In the body. God
-
is all about building people. It's not all about building buildings,
-
because some nice church buildings they are very well built.
-
But God builds people. He builds the individual, and he
-
builds the body. A that in the spirit there's a
-
move of God coming to this place, a sense that
-
we need to be ready, a sense it's time for
-
us to take our place.
-
But how do we do that?
-
Hebrews eleven and verse six says it's impossible to please
-
God without faith, so we don't do things in our
-
natural strength.
-
If the Holy Spirit is prodding us.
-
Then we go and speak to the leadership, Dave, Julia, whoever,
-
and share what God is saying to us. It's about
-
that purpose, and it's about destiny. As a prayer about
-
doing this preach, it was on those interesting preachers. We
-
don't get tho of scriptures. You just get a very
-
vague sense to what you've got to preach, which is
-
not helpful. I prefer to have a road map. As
-
was praying this preach, I saw the Lord positioning pieces
-
on a chessboard, and he was specifically placing pieces in
-
a specific place, and once he put the pieces on
-
the board, he sort of step back to watch what
-
their next move would be. It's like it positioned them
-
in a place as watching what they were going to
-
do next. It's one thing to be in the right
-
place and be positioned in the right place. It's the
-
next thing to take the next step and to walk
-
with the Holy Spirit into His plan and purposes in
-
that time, in that season. Because there are times and
-
there are seasons, there are promotions in the Kingdom of
-
God where God moves people around his chessboard. H I
-
f you'l like he's waking to see what next steps
-
of faith we are going to take. So I guess
-
three things. God knows us. He knows whether you know.
-
He knows us. He knows.
-
Whether you're doing the right thing or not doing the
-
right thing. Nobody else does, but he does. He's a
-
guy who has a conversation in our heads. We might
-
we might have about thinking something on God's in the back.
-
Saying well, what about this? What about that? What about
-
the other?
-
You cannot get away from God. Jha tried to do that.
-
It didn't work out very well. Jeremiah one verse five
-
says before I found you in the womb, I knew you.
-
Before you were born. I sanctified you.
-
And in terms of Jeremiah, I ordained you a profit
-
to the nations.
-
But it could be.
-
I dan knew Dave to be the pastor and senior
-
leader of running me Christian Fellowship, and I could go
-
around the room, but I'm not going to do that.
-
Dave's just sitting there, so he's an easy person to reference.
-
He knews before he we were formed in the womb.
-
He sanctified us. God has a plan and purpose for
-
your lives. I guess a crutch of this. What I'm
-
sensing is we mustn't miss what that plan is. That
-
plan changes to our lives from when we are younger
-
to when we get older. There's people here who are young,
-
and there's people here who are old, and there's people
-
in the middle. But we are all serving a purpose.
-
We're all fulfilling our purpose in the.
-
Kingdom of God. So God knows us.
-
So when he's speaking to us, let's respond number two.
-
He gives us direction. And it's really nice when God
-
speaks as us through the word. But guess what We've
-
got to do something with it. Sometimes we can dwell
-
in that place of receiving direction and not take the
-
next step. As I thirty twenty one says, you should
-
hear the word behind you saying this is the way
-
walk in it. Whether you turn to the right hand
-
or whether you turn to the left hand, this is
-
the way walk in it. And sometimes we'll get that
-
quiet nudge saying, come on, now, let's do this. Or
-
it might be a loud voice, or it might be
-
I had this conversation before. Are we going to go
-
around the mountain again? How are we going to do it?
-
If we just take the mask of the mascot for
-
the recording. God's not going to beat us up. He
-
wants us to fill our potential. Even though Jonah went
-
to Niniva fulfilled his potential. I'm sure he had regrets
-
he didn't go there first time. Let's not live in
-
there of regret. Let's live in doing what God asked
-
us to do when he asked us to do it.
-
So why does he give us direction number three? Why
-
does he give us direction.
-
One?
-
Corinthians nine twenty four to twenty five says, do you
-
not know that those who run in a race or
-
run but one receives the prize, run in such a
-
way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes
-
for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they
-
do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we fought
-
an imperishable crown in a natural You might not be
-
a runner, you might not be built to run. He
-
might have the two big feet, two short of legs.
-
You just might have that physique for running. In the spirit,
-
we're all runners. We're all running our race, and we're
-
going for that imperishable crown. It's not about looking around
-
you about how competing with your contemporaries. It doesn't matter
-
what other people they're doing. It really doesn't matter. In
-
the Kingdom of God. What matters is that do you
-
run your race. You step into the gifting that God
-
has placed within you, whatever that may be. I'm not
-
going to go through particular elements or giftings. But you
-
step into the gifting that God has purposed for you
-
at that period of time, and you run your race.
-
You know, God has a God of purpose, plan, design,
-
and objectivity. Nobody is here by accident today. Nobody is
-
listening to my does it tones on the recording by accident.
-
If you listen again later, you know this by accident.
-
We all have a destiny, we all have a purpose
-
in the Kingdom of God.
-
That's not just some nice words. That's the fact.
-
So don't switch off and go here he goes again,
-
because then you miss what God's doing for you. God
-
wants us to follow his direction and run the race
-
by faith, and it will not be the work of
-
a man.
-
It'll be the work of the Holy Spirit.
-
So to wrap this, it is time for us to
-
step into our destiny, in your gifting, in your position
-
in this body, in your position in the kingdom. Listen
-
to what the Holy Spirit is saying and step into it.
-
Take the next step, and don't be afraid. Sometimes the
-
devil can try and scare eragent to not doing things.
-
Forced to Timothy in the next few verses, for god'sn't
-
giving you a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power,
-
a spirit of love, and the spirit of a sour mind.
-
So let's stir up the gift of God that was
-
putting us and run our race. I just pray im
-
over to Juliet. Okay, Father, thank you, your word does
-
not return to your void, but it accompanies that which
-
you please, and prospers something where until you sent it.
-
I pray that your word will not return to your void.
-
Today people accompass that which you please, and they will
-
prospering nothing wherein to you sent it.
-
Do what you gotta do, Jesus, do what you gotta do.
-
Father, pray for the people in this room listening later,
-
listening now, h I prayly move in their hearts and
-
in their spirits that in jes Day and they would
-
take the next step on their journey. Father, in Jesus name,
-
I think each step is a miracle.
-
Amen, Thank you, Thank you, Brother Simon. The word has come.
-
Now we go to the next level, which is holy, convenient,
