Three Functions of the Lord’s Supper (1 Cor. 11:23-32)

Well, I'm so glad that you're with us this morning,

worshiping with us together. What a great song to start

off our service and saying, this morning, my life is

in your hands, if you have your Bible is if

you're turned with me the First Corinthians, chapter eleven. This morning,

it is a wonderful service to be together, worship together,

in fellowship together. And one of the parts of today

is communion. And today we get to have a service

together where we join together as a body believers and

taking the Lord's Supper. And this morning I want to

take up some time in First Corinthians, as Paul address

is the subject of the Lord's Supper and how important

it is that we worship properly this morning.

You know, I don't know about you.

There's times in my life that I am so busy

that I just I feel like at times I'm just

going through the motions. I'm doing things. Sometimes I don't

know what I'm doing, how I'm doing, why I'm doing it.

Just go through.

Like this morning, for example, I don't know about you.

I just have a morning routine. I get up every

morning and I have a few things I'm gonna do.

The first thing I gonna do it every morning. Is

gonna get up, I'm gonna turn off the alarm. I'm

gonna go let the dogs that way too, little dogs,

let them out, use the bathroom. And then most of

the time, if I get up early before most time,

I get up before Brandy. Sometimes she gets up before me,

especially during the school school week. But now you know,

a lot of times I'll get it before her, and

so I'll let the dogs out, and then I'll make

her a pot of coffee, and then I feed the dogs.

One of why I'm making the pot of coffee. And

then after they you know, finish eating, and then I

take them out again. You know, you just you do this,

you know, day after day. You know, turn off the alarm,

you make the coffee, feed the dogs, take the dog.

I mean, just do that every day. You know, you

just get a routine. And sometimes you know, you sometimes

you ever done this that you do so many things

at times you do it over and over. Sometimes you

do them and you don't even realize you did it.

You know, you forget that I actually feed the dogs

that actually make the coffee. Well, this morning I went out,

I got up this morning, I turn off the alarm,

let the dogs out, and as the dogs are eating,

I fix the coffee and then you know, went back

outside my daily rot team, letting them back outside while

the coffee's brewing. And I came inside and I was like,

you know, the coffee smells a little.

Stronger than it did normally.

You know, I hear a sudden noise that I have

not heard well. When I decided to make the coffee,

I decided to put the coffee pot back in the

coffee machine. So I made coffee on top of the

coffee table, underneath the coffee table, on the on the floor.

So we had coffee everywhere this morning.

And I say that because you know, sometimes we just

go through the motions and we're doing things. We don't

know what we're doing. We're not really paying attention. We're

just going through the motions. And sometimes when we do that,

we what we intended to do, something that was going

to be good, we end up making a mess. And

sometimes as we think today about the Lord's Supper, as

we come to the Lord's Supper, sometimes if we're real

ones as church together we have the Lord's Supper six

times a year, and sometimes we together can come together

and we can go through the motions of the Lord's Supper.

We can take the bread, we can take the cup,

and we can walk through an entire communion and have

no idea what we're doing and why we're doing it.

And as we come to First Corinthians this morning, Paul

wants you and I today to stop and think about what.

Is the purpose of the Lord's Supper.

Why do we take the Lord's supper, Why do we

take the cup, why do we take the bread? What

are we doing and why are we doing it? And

so this morning, I pray this morning, as we look

at First Corinthias chapter eleven, will understand that the Lord

Supper is important. It's something that we shouldn't take casually.

We shouldn't go through the motions. We should understand why

we are doing and why we are doing it, and

what it functions.

For us as a body of believers.

So this morning, as we take the Lord suppering just

a little bit, let's think this morning, Lord help us.

Let's not walk through the motions.

Lord help us rightly consider what the Lord's Supper means

for me today, what it means for us as a church.

And may we may we worship in truth. And may

God receive all the glory from our worship.

Today.

Let's stand together and let's read God's word together.

It start First Corinthians, chapter eleven and start verse.

I think I wrote down the yeah, yeah, First Corinthians,

chapter eleven, starting verse twenty three. This is what it

says here. This is the word of the Lord. When I,

for I received from the Lord, what also I.

Delivered to you.

That Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed,

took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke

and said, this is my body, which is for you.

Do this and remember it to me.

In the same way, you also took the cup, and

after the supper, saying this cup is the new covenant

in my blood. Do this as often as you drink

and remembrance of me. For as you eat this bread

and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until

he comes. Whoever therefore eats it's the bread and drinks

of the cup, and the unworthy manner will be guilty

concerning the.

Body and the blood of the Lord.

Let a person examine themselves with them, so he eat

the bread and drink the cup. For anyone who eats

and drinks without discerning the body eats and brings drinks

and brings judgment on himself. That's why many of you

are weak and ill, and some of you have died.

But if we judge ourselves truly, we will not be judged.

For when we are judged by the Lord, we discimine

so that we may not be condemned along with the world.

Let's pray together, Father, God, we today don't want to

walk through the motions.

Lord. We don't want to walk.

Through this service today and lose sight of Lord, what

You've called us to do and his purpose. And Lord,

how we are to give you glory, how we to remember,

how we are to proclaim, how we are to examine

this morning. So, Lord, today I pray that your word

would speak.

Lord.

There is no doubt in my mind that this passage

is for today, This service is for a Lord. You

have ordained it, and you have led me in my preparations.

Lord.

I pray Lord today that the words of my mouth

and meditation in my heart will be pleasing Lord to you. Lord,

that what I will proclaim Lord today would not be

my thoughts, my words would be yours.

Lord.

I pray that I would decrease and you would increase

through me. Lord, And may your word be spoken, and

may your spirit speak. Father, and Lord, as you speak,

may you give us ears to hear and hearts to obey.

Lord. We love you, We thank you Lord for today,

and your name we pray, Amen, you may be seated.

There's three function as we look in this First Corinthians,

chapter eleven, twenty three through twenty thirty four. Here we

see three functions of the Lord's Supper that Paul is

telling the church at Corinth. The church at Corinth have

at times kind of gone through the motions, and just

before verse twenty three he confronts the church on this,

and so now he kind of in verse twenty three

he explains what is the function of the Lord's supper,

and so let's look get that together. He first just instructs,

he reminds them of the Lord's supper, what happened that

night when Christ's first institute of the Lord's supper. He

says a verse twenty three, for our received from the

Lord would also have delivered you that Lord Jesus on

the night he was betrayed, took bread. We know he

referencing back he's calling in the church to remember the

night that the Lord instituted, and that night was seen

as the Last Supper. There's paintings you've seen probably before

the Last Supper of the disciples and Jesus and his

last meal. We called it the last Supper because there

was the last supper that Jesus had before he went

to the cross. And we know that night that was

also the night is the night that Jesus was betrayed.

But if you remember, if you know some of the

details of that night, we know that last Supper was

actually the Jewish Passover meal, is a meal that every

jew that night would have taken. They were taking a

passover meal. And there's different elements of that Passover meal

that were to remind every Jew of how God saved

the Israel from the death angel coming and striking all

the firstborn children in Egypt. Do you remember that story

in the Exodus? And so God had commanded why every

family wought to take a spotless lamb and to sacrifice

that lamb, and to have a meal as a family

over that lamb that night, and then to take the

blood of that lamb, you remember, and to put it

over the doorposts of the home.

And that night the death Angel was.

Going to come over Egypt and strike every firstborn child.

But those who have sacrificed the lamb and those who

had put the blood over the door posts, the angel

would pass over their home and God's wrath.

They would be spared from God's wrath.

So this night, the night of the Lord's Supper, Jesus

and his disciples were celebrating, and they were taking the

passover lamb.

They were taking the passover meal. And so he.

Reminds them of that that last night that you received

from the Lord. The Lord instructed you of the Lord's

supper that night. Listen to what it says that Lord

Jesus that night when he was betrayed, betrayed. We know

that night istrayed by Judas. That was his night as

he was making his way to the cross. And then

he reminds them of how Jesus instructed to partake of

the Lord's ouper.

Look at these instructions from Jesus.

In verse twenty four, when he had given things, he

broke in and said, this is my body which is

for you.

Do this and remember it to me.

That night at the Last Supper they reminded.

Jesus took the bread.

The bread was to be reminded of the sacrifice that

was broken.

He broke the bread.

And he says, this is what This is my body

which is broken for you. He's reminding them that I

passed over. They would have taken a spotless lamb, a

lamb without blemis, and they would sacrifice that. You remember,

if you go back to Exodus, you can see they

would have taken the passover lamb. Would They would expected

their herds and they would find a spotless lamb and

they would watch it for three days and make sure

it without blemish. After the third day, they would offer

it for the family and together that night, the family

would come together and have a meal over that. Jesus

was reminding them as he takes the bread. He says,

listen to this. He he says, this is my body

which is for you. And he's foreshadowing, right, He's foreshadowing

what's about to happen. This is their last supper. This

is not he is betrayed. Soon Jesus would be taken

in the garden Yosemite, and then he would make his

way to the cross, and there on the cross he

would hang and he would die as a as a sacrifice.

Christ is saying, I am the spotless Lamb. I am

the spotless Lamb who will be sacrifice for your sins.

I am the Lamb who are going to save you

from your sins. John knew that, and Luke. And John

says in John one nine the next day, when when

he saw Jesus coming towards him, he says, behold what

the Lamb of God who takes away the.

Sins of the world. We know that.

And Luke, as he is Luke's test Gospel, he tells

a story of Jesus instituting the Last Supper. You know

in Luke's account, alike the wording of Luke, because this

is what Jesus says in that account.

This is my body which is given for you. I'm

the Lamb. I'm the Lamb that.

Is giving as a sacrifice for you, for you disciples,

for you here this morning, Jesus. As we think about

the body, and we think about the bread, we to

think about the Lamb who was spotless, that was given

as a perfect sacrifice for our sins. I love what

Ephesians five to two says, walk in love as Christ

loved us, and listen to this. He gave himself for

us as a fragrant offering and as a.

Sacrifice to God.

As we think about the bread, Paul is reminding him,

as you take the Lord's supper, you were to take

the bread, and that bread is to get remind you

that Christ died as your sacrifice for your sins. Not

only did he's he instructed to take the bread, he

instructs them to not only take the bread, and to

be reminded that this body which is for you. In

the same way, the scripture says in verse twenty five,

he took the cup, and after the supper, he says,

this is the cup in the New Covenant, in my blood.

Do this as often as you drink in remembrance of me.

It was the blood of the Lamb that they were

taking that night, and they would have put over the

door post that that night, as God's judgment was coming

upon Egypt and upon the firstborn children there, if they

had taken a sacrifice that would pay the price for

their sins, they would have taken a sacrifice, and they

would taken the blood of that sacrifice, and they would

put it over the doorposts of their homes, that when

the wrath of God would come, the wrath of God

would what pass over them. Jesus saying to the cup

that night, and he says, what this cup is the

cup of my blood. It's not the blood of Lamb

that saves. It's my blood that cleanses you. And it's

my blood that listen to this not only cleanses you,

but it's my blood that will satisfy the wrath of

God for you.

You know.

In Ephesians one seven says in him we have redemption

through his blood, the forgiveness of trespasses according to the

riches of his grace. You know, as we think about

taking the cup in the moment, that cup is a

reminder to us of the blood of Jesus that cleanses

us from our sins. It's his blood that cleanses us.

In First John one seven says, if we walk in

the light, he is in the light, and we have

fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus cleanses

us from all our sin.

It's the blood of Jesus is that cleanses us.

But it's also the blood of Jesus said satisfies the

wrath of God. You know, Scripture says in ro almost

three twenty three, for all of sin and falling shore

of the glory of God and the wrath of God.

What is death and hell?

But praise be to God that even though we're of

all sin and falling shore of the glory of God,

that Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty

for our sins. But also he died on the cross

that his blood might satisfy the wrath of God for us. See,

we deserve death, we deserve hell. But the good news

of the Gospels Jesus was to sacrifice, and by his

blood he's.

Satisfied the wrath of God for us. He cleanses us.

He satisfies the wrath of God. But why, but why

do we take the bread? Why do we take the cup?

Will notice here in both instances of this vert of

this passage, verse twenty four and twenty five, every time

he mentions taking the body, and he takes or tells us.

To take the cup.

He tells us and structure us why we to do it? Listen,

this is my body which for you do this in

remembrance of me. He says about the cup, This is

the cup of the new coven in my blood. Do

this as often as you drink in remembrance of me.

So why does he tell us to do this? He

tells us because he wants us to remember. He wants

us to remember his body that was broken for us,

that he was the sacrifice for our sins. He wants

us to remember that it is his blood that cleanses

us from our sins. He wants us to remember that

is his blood that satisfies the wrath of God.

Why why does.

He instruct Why does he give the Lord's Supper? Because

God knows that you and I.

Are forgetful people.

We're prone to forget, aren't we. We forget to put

the coffee pot in the coffee maker, right, We forget

all kinds of things, and we're easy to We're prone,

if you will, to forget what God's done for us.

You know, I've noticed in being a pastor over the

years and seeing people who lose loved ones. You know

what are the greatest fear of someone who loses a

loved one is that they'll be forgotten.

They'll be forgotten did after they die and after they.

Are gone, that they'll be forgotten, forgotten what they did,

forgotten what they said, forgotten what the memories they'd have.

My dad died three years.

Ago, and I think that's that's the tendency in my

heart is I don't want him to be forgotten. So

there's things that I do so I don't forget him.

I have his He gave me his trucks.

Every day I drive his truck, and a lot of

times in driving his truck, I find different things that

was his and it makes me remember him. I have

shirts that he left me, clothes, and when I wear

this one shirt, it has got his name and brought

it in the back of it, and every time I.

Put that shirt on, I think of my dad.

I've got voice messages that he left me and I

saved them on my phone that I.

Could I could hear his voice again. And why do.

I I do these things because as time goes by,

I don't want to forget.

And you know the reality.

Is, just as much as there's a fear that we

might forget those who died, God knew, there's a fear

that you and I will forget.

What Jesus has done for us. We'll move on with.

Our lives and we'll forget of how he died that

we might be forgiven of our sins. He knows that

there's a danger that you and I will move on

our lives and will forget of how his bloods will

cleanse us from our sins. I wonder today, as you

think about what Jesus has done for you, when's the

last time of this last week have you thought about

how Jesus died as a sacrifice for your sins?

Just this last week? When have you thought about it?

When have you thought about it in the last week,

about how it's Jesus's blood that was poured out that

would satisfy the wrath of God for you. Every one

of us in this room can say we're guilty of that,

aren't We We go about our dailies, making the coffee,

our work schedule, our hobbies, our TV shows, whatever it

may be, our entertainment, and we go through a day,

twenty four hours.

Week, months, six months.

Maybe even a year, or maybe just simply an entire

church service, and we forget about what Jesus has done

for us. Listen, the Lord's Supper was given to call

us to remember, to remember individually what Jesus has done

for you. This morning, the Lord's supper functions. The first

function is to remember Christ's sacrifice. So this morning, as

we take it in a moment, may we remember what

Jesus has done for us what you see. Secondly, the

second function of the Lord's supper is we are to proclaim.

It's to proclaim Christ's death. Tell a guy, call tell Gallio.

I try to practice that and just didn't work. If

you look at the verse twenty six, you see this

Greek word here is as often as you eat this

bread and drink of this cup, you proclaim the Lord's

death until he comes. The word there in the Greek

means proclaim throughout is to announce, to speak about. It

carries this idea. In the Greek, there's other words that

mean proclaim. Paul uses a different word for proclaim in

this in verse twenty six, and this term really has

this tone of announcing broadly. You know, technology is wonderful, right.

We all have phone smartphones in our pockets, and one

of the great things about technology is its ability to.

Send out announcements.

Right, just yesterday, I was I was busy, and I

was talking to some individual. I forgot who's who it was,

and as I was talking. I got an alert on

my watch and it was Amber Amber alert. Many of

you probably got it, and it was Amber alert that

was a child missing somewhere over God. I think it

was in South Carolina, and it was telling us what

the child's name, age, the cars located, what city was

last in. Right, and that Amber alert sent out it

probably all of you here maybe got that Amber alert,

but through North Carolina, South Carolina. It's announcing broadly. Why,

because there's a critical need. Right, someone's life is in danger.

This announcement needs to go out so everyone would hear

that this child is in danger, their their life is

in danger. Right, that's the idea of announcing. That's the

idea of this word. This word is is a broad announcement. Right,

it's announcing. And what is an announcing to all the world.

What it's announcing to all the world is that Jesus

Christ was the sacrifice for sins for all the world.

For God so loved the world that he gave his

only begotten son, that whoshoever shall believe in him shall

not perish about have ever lasting life. It's a proclamation,

but it's not just a proclamation that should be just

in the church house or just it should proclaim throughout

all the earth.

That's what Matthew twenty eight says.

What go ye therefore and make disciples of all nations right?

It is to go throughout all the world right. That's

the imagery of this word. And it's interesting as Paul

is describing this, he says, as you take the Lord's supper,

not only you to remember, but the Lord's Supper is

a reminder that you proclaim Jesus.

To all the world, to the lost around you.

If you think about the Lord's supper, Lord's supper one

of things that as we take the Lord's supper, one

of the things we ask this morning, as you've come

into the service you're not a believer, we ask you

not to take the Lord's supper because the lord supper

is for those who proclaim that Jesus has saved me

from my sins, and Jesus has cleansed me from our sins.

And so if you've not done that, we ask you

to not partake. The scripture says if you take the

Lord's supper and an unworthy manner, you bring judgment upon yourself.

So we ask you not I remember, as a little boy.

I don't know if you remember this, but I remember

before I came to Christ and going to church, which

I was raised in church.

And I remember going.

To church and they would pass that Lord's Supper, and

of course everybody else is in the room taking the

Lord's Supper, and I wanted to take the lord Supper.

But I remember Mom saying, no, you can't take it yet.

Why And I would say, why why can I take it?

Well, it's because you've not received Jesus yet.

And I remember like having a longing in my heart

right to want to take the Lord's Supper. But I

knew there was something missing in my life, right. See,

the Lord's Supper proclaims to those who are here today,

if you've not received Jesus Christ, there's something missing in you.

What is the missing element that you're missing this morning?

You're missing Jesus. You're missing what Jesus has can and

will do for you, that he will to save you

from your sins. He will to cleanse you from your sins.

The Lord's Supper is to proclaim to those who are here.

But I think it's a reminder for all of us.

It's a reminder that no one only should plane proclaim

the Gospel and are through the institution of the Lord Supper.

But just a reminder, listen that we have a calling

to proclaim the Gospel throughout all the earth. You know

what's interesting, Just last Saturday in Raleigh, I think there

was one hundred forty thousand people that descended on Raleigh,

right for one purpose. They descended on Raleigh for one purpose.

What was it to celebrate the victory of the Carolina Hurricanes, Right,

that they won the championship, the Stanley Cup. Right, And

so one hundred and forty thousand people all rally together

in the city to so librate victory, victory on a

global stage, in the United States stage. It's amazing that

I got me a Caroline Hurricane shirt and you wear

it out and you'll just see someone and someone just

you never met, you've never talked to you in your

whole life, and they'll start talking to you about the Hurricanes,

how the Hurricanes did, how great that was, how great

the victory, what it was like.

Winning the Stanley Cup.

And we'll talk to random people about the victory of

the Caroline Hurricanes.

But we won't stop and tell someone about the victory

that Jesus has given us.

Listen, there's a story that's greater than any story they're

ever told, and that's the story of Jesus. And listen,

it's not only the story of Jesus, but it's also

the story of what Jesus has done for you. And

may we be believers. It says, the Lord's Supper reminds

me of what Jesus has done for me. But it

reminds me that there's a victory of what gess this

is done for me.

And there's people who don't know about the victory.

And I need to proclaim Jesus to them because he

can give them victory too. Can I remind you today

remember Christ's sacrifice, proclaim Christ's death. Lastly, this morning, this

third function of the Lord's Supper is examining your heart.

Listen to the passage of Scripture. Here go with me.

In verse twenty seven, he says, whoever therefore eats the

bread and drinks of the cup and the unworthy manner

would be guilty concerning the body and the blood of

the Lord. Let the person examining themselves, then, so they

eat the bread and drink the cup. For anyone who

drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself.

Paul in verses previous verses. In verses seventeen and on,

Paul is confronting the church about some things that's happened,

how they've taken the Lord Supper and unworthy manner. There's

some mishandlings, if you will, of the Lord's Supper. One

was there was divisions in the church. There was some

disunity in.

The church, and so they were.

Coming unified, as we take the Lord Supper, we're to

do it unity, the reminder that we were united as

the body of Christ, and yet the church was divided.

There was some visions in the church.

There was also some other mishandling of the Lord's Supper,

and that there was abuse of the supper. Here we're

having our Lord supper. We have a little piece of bread.

We're going to give you a little bit, a little

cup of grape juice. There back in New Testament, at

times it was a full meal, and there were those

who were using the Lord's Supper to get full, to

have a good meal, and it was about enjoying a meal,

enjoying a drink. Some would actually in this passage. You

look in verse twenty two. I believe you look with

me verse twenty one. Since we're eating, one goes ahead

in with his own meal, and one goes hungry, and

another gets drunk. There were some that were you using

it to get fulled. I have a great meal. It

was not about honoring the Lord, or remembering the Lord,

or proclaiming the Lord. It's just about let me have

a good meal. And someone using lord supper to have

a good drink. And they were, they were getting drunk

with the Lord's supper. And and Paul is confronting that,

and he says, listen to the Lord's Supper as he

goes through. It's about remembering what Christ's sacrifice. It's about

proclaiming the Lord's death. It's not about you going through

the motions and just enjoying a milk, enjoying a drink.

It's about us remembering. It's about proclaiming.

So there he calls them, turn to examine examine your heart.

I think it's a reminder for you and I today

as we come to the Lord's Supper. Now, as I've

said already, we're good badness, right, you're not getting you're

not getting the leaf of bread. Today, you're not getting

a laid out meal. There's no cash, old disses here

right for our Lord's supper. And if you think you're

gonna get drunk on a grape juice right this morning,

you're gonna be We're sorely disappointed. Right, you're getting about

this much of grape juice. So so many of the

things that were they were struggling with, you're not going

to struggle with today. So you say, pastor, how am

I abusing the Lord's supper? How am I maybe taking

the Lord's supper and unworthy manner? I think we take

the Lord's supper and unworthy manner of one when we

just go through the motions and we just make it

about service.

We do it. We don't know what we're doing. We

just go through the motions.

I think we can take the Lord' supper and unworthy

manner when we take the Lord's supper and we say

I love my church body, but we know we have

conflicts and divisions among one another, and we're.

Not resolved that.

I think we take the Lord's supper and unworthy manner

when we come to the Lord's supper and we say

God I know that you've cleansed me of my sin,

but I've got this pet sin in my life that

I let's not talk about that.

Lord, I'm right with you.

And we take the Lord's Supper, and we've not we

have unconfessed sins in our life that we've not brought

to the Lord. Therefore, Paul commands us, then when we

take the Lord's supper, look at verse twenty eight. Let

a person examine himself then, so eat the bread and

drink the cup the Lord's take the Lord' supper.

We need to take a time examine our hearts.

God, is my heart right with our brothers and sisters

in Christ? God is my heart right with you? Is

there anything in my life and sin in my life

that's right now that's created separation between me and you. Yes,

I'm forgiven. I'm saved of nothing will ever take me

out of your hands. But Lord, there's some things in

my life right now they're.

Not honoring you.

So God, I need to examine. I need to confess

these things before you. Scripture says, if we confess our sins,

what He's faithful and just to forgive us of our sins.

So before we take the cup this morning.

I think it's important for us not just to go

through the motion to say, Oh, everything's fine, everything's fine,

everything's fine.

Not fine.

I think it's important for us to say, Lord, I

want my heart right to be right with you before

I remember, before I proclaim. So Lord, let me confess

to you the.

Areas of my life that are not right.

And God, just as I remember that you cleanse me, God,

I remember today, you'll cleanse me again today. Would you

pray with me every head abouty every I close and

grask our band to come forward, and our and our

deacons are going to come forward to lead us in.

The Lord's Supper. But as they do that, would.

You take some time to pray?

You take some time to say, Lord, help me this morning, Lord,

I don't remember, Lord, forgive me in the times where

I go through the motions and I forget what you've

done for me.

Lord, Maybe you.

Say, this morning, Lord, help me heet Lord, I've not

been faithful to proclaim Lord, what you've done to me

in my life. There's a family member, there's a coworker,

there's a neighbor, and they need to hear about the

victory Lord that you've given me, Lord, help me be

faithful to proclaim Lord today. Help me be faithful today,

to examine my heart. Lord, if there's sin in my

the Lord's supper. Because Lord, you know, Lord, we're attempted

to go through the motions. We easily forget Lord, what

you've done for us. It's a Lord today, help us

be faithful to remember, help us be faithful to proclaim,

and God examine us. Lord, search us, O, God, or

know our thoughts, know our hearts. Reveal to us if

there's anything in us that's not honoring you God, or

lead us to confession, repentance, restoration this morning, or we

love you in your name.
