  1. Brother Jim: Four weeks ago, we started a series on the Great Commission.

  2. Brother Jim: Kind of scratched the surface of what it was.

  3. Brother Jim: The following Sunday was Pentecost.

  4. Brother Jim: The Great Commission is the mission.

  5. Brother Jim: The power comes from Pentecost for the mission.

  6. Brother Jim: Now, last week we started

  7. Brother Jim: heading into what a dying church

  8. Brother Jim: can be because in my mind, we

  9. Brother Jim: need to know what we're facing,

  10. Brother Jim: what we're dealing with before

  11. Brother Jim: we go.

  12. Brother Jim: And this Sunday, next Sunday, we're going to talk about the

  13. Brother Jim: mission of the other, the mission of Satan.

  14. Brother Jim: And believe you me, he has a mission just as strong as we

  15. Brother Jim: have our mission.

  16. Brother Jim: And I asked earlier in the beginning of the church service,

  17. Brother Jim: are you feeling dangerous today?

  18. Brother Jim: Well, Brother Jim, what is dangerous mean?

  19. Brother Jim: I mean, do you have the power of

  20. Brother Jim: the Holy Spirit running through

  21. Brother Jim: you to where nothing is going to

  22. Brother Jim: stop you?

  23. Brother Jim: No fear comes into your heart, your mind, your eyes, your soul.

  24. Brother Jim: You are jacked and ready to go.

  25. Brother Jim: Just putting it out there.

  26. Brother Jim: Are you feeling dangerous today, church?

  27. Brother Jim: Well, what better place to start in the Scripture?

  28. Brother Jim: The scripture Ephesians six twelve tells us, and I want you

  29. Brother Jim: to listen to these words, my friends, for we do not wrestle

  30. Brother Jim: against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against

  31. Brother Jim: powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,

  32. Brother Jim: against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly

  33. Brother Jim: places, the principalities against the power.

  34. Brother Jim: And yes, they have power.

  35. Brother Jim: Rulers of the darkness.

  36. Brother Jim: Yes.

  37. Brother Jim: Satan is a ruler.

  38. Brother Jim: Satan has his kingdom, does he not?

  39. Brother Jim: And again, Satan's number one job is to draw you away from

  40. Brother Jim: God, to break that communication, to pull you away,

  41. Brother Jim: to make you suffer, to make you miserable, to lie to you by any

  42. Brother Jim: tactics deemed necessary by him and his minions.

  43. Brother Jim: His goons.

  44. Brother Jim: How many people sitting here

  45. Brother Jim: this morning believe that life's

  46. Brother Jim: greatest battles are against

  47. Brother Jim: difficult people, difficult

  48. Brother Jim: circumstances?

  49. Brother Jim: The government, forgotten passwords, pin numbers, spam

  50. Brother Jim: emails and phone calls, or perhaps even against ourselves.

  51. Brother Jim: Yet God's Word reveals that

  52. Brother Jim: behind many of the struggles you

  53. Brother Jim: and I face is a much greater

  54. Brother Jim: reality.

  55. Brother Jim: There is a spiritual battle, and

  56. Brother Jim: I hope you understand that today

  57. Brother Jim: there is a spiritual battle

  58. Brother Jim: going on.

  59. Brother Jim: Do we truly comprehend this

  60. Brother Jim: morning that there really is one

  61. Brother Jim: though?

  62. Brother Jim: Do we understand that that's

  63. Brother Jim: being fought every hour of every

  64. Brother Jim: day around you and I, around

  65. Brother Jim: this church, around our

  66. Brother Jim: families, and yes, even within

  67. Brother Jim: our own hearts, our homes, our

  68. Brother Jim: schools, our workplaces, our

  69. Brother Jim: government buildings, our

  70. Brother Jim: hospitals, our nursing homes,

  71. Brother Jim: and yes, even within our

  72. Brother Jim: churches.

  73. Brother Jim: The battle is taking place.

  74. Brother Jim: Now, God's Word teaches us that Satan is real.

  75. Brother Jim: I hope you believe you know that Satan is real and that he

  76. Brother Jim: actively, actively, actively opposes the purpose of God.

  77. Brother Jim: Satan wages war against humanity not because of anything we've

  78. Brother Jim: personally done to him, but because of who created us and

  79. Brother Jim: what God intends for us.

  80. Brother Jim: The devil's hatred for mankind is ultimately rooted in his

  81. Brother Jim: hatred for God.

  82. Brother Jim: Now we'll all agree we are

  83. Brother Jim: created in God's image, loved by

  84. Brother Jim: God, and offered a future with

  85. Brother Jim: God.

  86. Brother Jim: And guess what?

  87. Brother Jim: Satan despises every one of those things.

  88. Brother Jim: So once again, Rockford Church.

  89. Brother Jim: Do you believe that in our world today that there is a real

  90. Brother Jim: active and violent, yes, violent spiritual battle taking place, a

  91. Brother Jim: war that rages unseen by many.

  92. Brother Jim: And unfortunately leaves

  93. Brother Jim: devastating casualties in the

  94. Brother Jim: wake.

  95. Brother Jim: Here we go.

  96. Brother Jim: A little bit of reality right here.

  97. Brother Jim: A war where marriages are attacked.

  98. Brother Jim: Families are divided.

  99. Brother Jim: Truth is distorted, faith is

  100. Brother Jim: weakened and souls, yes, souls

  101. Brother Jim: are lost.

  102. Brother Jim: A war that is not fought with tanks, missiles, or armies, but

  103. Brother Jim: with deception, temptation, fear, pride and unbelief.

  104. Brother Jim: A war that each day produces eternal consequences.

  105. Brother Jim: As countless souls are drawn further away from God.

  106. Brother Jim: This God who loves you, who loves them.

  107. Brother Jim: Church.

  108. Brother Jim: The battle is real.

  109. Brother Jim: The enemy is real, and the stakes are eternal.

  110. Brother Jim: It's not like we're going to go out and lose the game and have a

  111. Brother Jim: new week to come up to prepare for the next battle, the next

  112. Brother Jim: opponent, eternity is at stake.

  113. Brother Jim: The question is not whether the war is taking place.

  114. Brother Jim: The question is, are we prepared to fight the battle God's way?

  115. Brother Jim: Again, this morning I am talking about the war of good versus

  116. Brother Jim: evil, a war that is waged around you and I and me.

  117. Brother Jim: Just think about it this very moment.

  118. Brother Jim: How many of you sitting here right now?

  119. Brother Jim: There is an internal conflict in

  120. Brother Jim: your heart, in your mind, a war

  121. Brother Jim: being raged because Satan is

  122. Brother Jim: whispering.

  123. Brother Jim: Satan is trying to tear you apart.

  124. Brother Jim: And guess what?

  125. Brother Jim: Your soul, my soul, your eternity, and my eternity, they

  126. Brother Jim: are at stake.

  127. Brother Jim: And if you do not believe that, then you need to wake up and

  128. Brother Jim: open your eyes to see what God's Word clearly teaches.

  129. Brother Jim: And let's be honest, this morning you might be sitting

  130. Brother Jim: good with God and praise God for that to your loved ones, their

  131. Brother Jim: eternity is on the line.

  132. Brother Jim: The war has been raging.

  133. Brother Jim: Let's be honest, the war has

  134. Brother Jim: been raging since it first found

  135. Brother Jim: its way into the heart of

  136. Brother Jim: Lucifer.

  137. Brother Jim: Let's go beyond Adam.

  138. Brother Jim: It started with Lucifer in heaven.

  139. Brother Jim: And this battle is not merely

  140. Brother Jim: political, cultural, social, or

  141. Brother Jim: even philosophical.

  142. Brother Jim: It's a spiritual battle for the hearts, minds, and souls of men

  143. Brother Jim: and women of children.

  144. Brother Jim: So who's involved in this war?

  145. Brother Jim: Who are the soldiers, brother Jim.

  146. Brother Jim: Who is the enemy?

  147. Brother Jim: The war involves you and I. Yes.

  148. Brother Jim: Hear me on this church, you and

  149. Brother Jim: I, as believers in Jesus Christ

  150. Brother Jim: around the world, believers,

  151. Brother Jim: it's just not designated

  152. Brother Jim: Rockford Church.

  153. Brother Jim: It's around the world.

  154. Brother Jim: Standing against us is Satan.

  155. Brother Jim: Anybody disagree with that?

  156. Brother Jim: This morning?

  157. Brother Jim: Satan, his demons in a fallen

  158. Brother Jim: world that often follows his

  159. Brother Jim: influence.

  160. Brother Jim: Is that getting through to you?

  161. Brother Jim: Looking around our world today, what our society is producing.

  162. Brother Jim: Riddle me that one, folks.

  163. Brother Jim: Prove me wrong.

  164. Brother Jim: Look around what the world is producing.

  165. Brother Jim: It's a fallen world.

  166. Brother Jim: And we so often follow its influence.

  167. Brother Jim: His influence.

  168. Brother Jim: Now, as we've said, Jesus gave his followers a mission known as

  169. Brother Jim: the Great Commission.

  170. Brother Jim: Satan the enemy.

  171. Brother Jim: God and humanity.

  172. Brother Jim: We all have a mission.

  173. Brother Jim: Again, God has a mission.

  174. Brother Jim: Satan has a mission.

  175. Brother Jim: Christ seeks to save.

  176. Brother Jim: Satan seeks to destroy.

  177. Brother Jim: Christ seeks to bring truth.

  178. Brother Jim: Satan seeks to spread lies.

  179. Brother Jim: Christ seeks to give life.

  180. Brother Jim: Satan seeks to bring death.

  181. Brother Jim: Christ seeks to offer hope.

  182. Brother Jim: Satan seeks to spread despair.

  183. Brother Jim: Christ seeks to set people free.

  184. Brother Jim: How many of you are free today because of the Holy Spirit?

  185. Brother Jim: Because of Jesus Christ?

  186. Brother Jim: How many of you are held in bondage because of what Satan is

  187. Brother Jim: doing in your life?

  188. Brother Jim: Jesus said in John ten ten, the thief does not come except to do

  189. Brother Jim: what he comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy.

  190. Brother Jim: And guess what?

  191. Brother Jim: I have come that they may have

  192. Brother Jim: life, and that they may have it

  193. Brother Jim: more abundantly.

  194. Brother Jim: And my friends, I want you to understand this morning.

  195. Brother Jim: No matter what AI says, no matter what social media said,

  196. Brother Jim: there are two kingdoms.

  197. Brother Jim: Can we agree on that this morning?

  198. Brother Jim: There are two kingdoms.

  199. Brother Jim: There is God's kingdom and there is Satan's kingdom.

  200. Brother Jim: There is heaven and hell.

  201. Brother Jim: Nothing in between.

  202. Brother Jim: And you ain't coming back as a

  203. Brother Jim: butterfly or a unicorn or

  204. Brother Jim: whatever else some of them

  205. Brother Jim: believe.

  206. Brother Jim: I hate to burst your bubble.

  207. Brother Jim: I'm not coming back with a head full of hair.

  208. Brother Jim: But you know what?

  209. Brother Jim: As I said last night at his abilities.

  210. Brother Jim: I do believe I'm me and Samson.

  211. Brother Jim: We're going to be trading hair ideas.

  212. Brother Jim: I'm thinking of a man.

  213. Brother Jim: But as Jim Hartsock said, we

  214. Brother Jim: might try out deadlock

  215. Brother Jim: dreadlocks.

  216. Brother Jim: But again, death is death.

  217. Brother Jim: You got two choices, my friends.

  218. Brother Jim: And every day, every soul is moving toward one or the other.

  219. Brother Jim: That is why this battle matters.

  220. Brother Jim: If you really care, that is why the gospel matters.

  221. Brother Jim: That is why the Great Commission

  222. Brother Jim: matters, because souls are at

  223. Brother Jim: stake.

  224. Brother Jim: Do we understand that souls are at stake?

  225. Brother Jim: Eternity is at stake and the enemy.

  226. Brother Jim: Guess what?

  227. Brother Jim: He never takes a day off.

  228. Brother Jim: Now we all like our days off, don't we?

  229. Brother Jim: Except for you, retired folks.

  230. Brother Jim: Every day is a day off.

  231. Brother Jim: But Satan, he never takes a day off.

  232. Brother Jim: And Satan loves.

  233. Brother Jim: He seeks to spread lies to you, my watered down the truth.

  234. Brother Jim: AM I getting warm here?

  235. Brother Jim: Watering down the truth.

  236. Brother Jim: And mankind is often so sinful and gullible enough to believe

  237. Brother Jim: almost anything except the truth that God put right before us.

  238. Brother Jim: Plain and simple.

  239. Brother Jim: But we think we know better, do we not?

  240. Brother Jim: So many people think they know better.

  241. Brother Jim: Or maybe we're just lazy and we don't want to get in the word

  242. Brother Jim: and take the hard way at times.

  243. Brother Jim: Christ seeks to bring people to eternal life.

  244. Brother Jim: Satan seeks to keep people from God by any means possible.

  245. Brother Jim: And believe me, oh, believe you

  246. Brother Jim: me, if you've been in the

  247. Brother Jim: trenches, if you've been in a

  248. Brother Jim: battle, if you've went down to

  249. Brother Jim: the darkest places, you can

  250. Brother Jim: understand how bad Satan can

  251. Brother Jim: bring you down and try to keep

  252. Brother Jim: you there.

  253. Brother Jim: The pits of hell is what I'm talking about.

  254. Brother Jim: So this morning let's you and I examine the battle plan.

  255. Brother Jim: Let us compare Christ's great commission with the work Satan

  256. Brother Jim: is attempting to accomplish.

  257. Brother Jim: And yes, he's attempting very

  258. Brother Jim: hard because I truly believe he

  259. Brother Jim: knows his days are numbered on

  260. Brother Jim: this earth.

  261. Brother Jim: Does anybody agree with that today?

  262. Brother Jim: His days are numbered to take souls.

  263. Brother Jim: Again, Jesus Christ's mission is to reach the people.

  264. Brother Jim: And guess what?

  265. Brother Jim: I don't care if you're tattooed.

  266. Brother Jim: You're bald.

  267. Brother Jim: Multiple colored hair, earrings, piercings everywhere.

  268. Brother Jim: Dressing funny.

  269. Brother Jim: He loves you.

  270. Brother Jim: So how dare we say, oh, that

  271. Brother Jim: person doesn't deserve God's

  272. Brother Jim: love?

  273. Brother Jim: Well guess what?

  274. Brother Jim: Let me look in the mirror.

  275. Brother Jim: My friends.

  276. Brother Jim: Do you think I deserve God's love?

  277. Brother Jim: Do I deserve God's mercy?

  278. Brother Jim: No, not one of us.

  279. Brother Jim: But he still loves us so much he gives it to us, doesn't he?

  280. Brother Jim: To reach the people, the lost.

  281. Brother Jim: How many times?

  282. Brother Jim: And if we're very honest, have

  283. Brother Jim: we snubbed people out in society

  284. Brother Jim: because they don't fit our

  285. Brother Jim: standard?

  286. Brother Jim: How many people in this church

  287. Brother Jim: have been snubbed over the

  288. Brother Jim: years?

  289. Brother Jim: Now that's a quiet secret.

  290. Brother Jim: True.

  291. Brother Jim: I'm just asking questions this morning, my friend.

  292. Brother Jim: But you're the one that can come up with the answer.

  293. Brother Jim: Jesus said, go therefore and make disciples of all nations.

  294. Brother Jim: As I have said, the Great Commission begins with movement.

  295. Brother Jim: Jesus did not tell his followers to sit on their backsides.

  296. Brother Jim: No, said that the other day.

  297. Brother Jim: He said, get out there and go.

  298. Brother Jim: The church was never intended.

  299. Brother Jim: Think about it.

  300. Brother Jim: We got a nice little fortress here, do we not?

  301. Brother Jim: We're safe.

  302. Brother Jim: We feel good.

  303. Brother Jim: We're comfortable.

  304. Brother Jim: Going out there.

  305. Brother Jim: Doesn't make us comfortable, does it?

  306. Brother Jim: Going out there, fear can come in.

  307. Brother Jim: But Jesus said to go to be a lighthouse shining in the

  308. Brother Jim: darkness today, O church, there are people around us who

  309. Brother Jim: desperately need help.

  310. Brother Jim: As Miss Buffy said.

  311. Brother Jim: And if you don't believe, pull around after church, pull over

  312. Brother Jim: by the side and ask her.

  313. Brother Jim: Because every day they see it.

  314. Brother Jim: People are just in basic need of basic ways to function, to live.

  315. Brother Jim: If you can't feed your family, if you can't get to work, does

  316. Brother Jim: that not destroy your hope?

  317. Brother Jim: It does.

  318. Brother Jim: And that opens the floodgates wide open for Satan.

  319. Brother Jim: Families struggling with brokenness to make ends meet.

  320. Brother Jim: How many of us go to the grocery

  321. Brother Jim: store and pray we just got

  322. Brother Jim: enough?

  323. Brother Jim: How many of us go to the gas station and can only fill half

  324. Brother Jim: the vehicle up?

  325. Brother Jim: Because that's all we got.

  326. Brother Jim: Families struggling with brokenness.

  327. Brother Jim: Young people searching for a purpose and a direction.

  328. Brother Jim: Elderly people battling loneliness and isolation.

  329. Brother Jim: Individuals overwhelmed by fear, anxiety and uncertainty.

  330. Brother Jim: And here you go.

  331. Brother Jim: Now, it's hard to believe.

  332. Brother Jim: But people who have never heard the truth of Jesus Christ.

  333. Brother Jim: I had it last year, a young man getting married.

  334. Brother Jim: He had no idea what I was talking about, what it was to be

  335. Brother Jim: a godly man, what it was to even know Jesus Christ.

  336. Brother Jim: And he's almost thirty years old.

  337. Brother Jim: So it is true with everything around us, people still don't

  338. Brother Jim: hear the truth of who and why Jesus Christ came to this world.

  339. Brother Jim: Church, who is on the front line today is the pastor alone.

  340. Brother Jim: Is the missionary serving overseas?

  341. Brother Jim: Is it the church leadership, the governing body?

  342. Brother Jim: No, no, no. The front line is your.

  343. Brother Jim: It's for every believer, number one, every believer sitting here

  344. Brother Jim: in this sanctuary or listening in the front line is your home,

  345. Brother Jim: your workplace, your school district, your neighborhood,

  346. Brother Jim: down the road, up the road.

  347. Brother Jim: It doesn't matter.

  348. Brother Jim: The front line is wherever God puts you.

  349. Brother Jim: Every day God places people in our path who need encouragement,

  350. Brother Jim: need truth, need hope, and they need the gospel.

  351. Brother Jim: Now I. I'll admit I have an advantage being a pastor, but

  352. Brother Jim: you better believe it.

  353. Brother Jim: I see it every day.

  354. Brother Jim: It is amazing.

  355. Brother Jim: Marilyn's walking through the darkness here.

  356. Brother Jim: And guess what?

  357. Brother Jim: A shining light comes into her life right out of nowhere.

  358. Brother Jim: You think that's luck?

  359. Brother Jim: No. That's God putting someone in her life.

  360. Brother Jim: How many is that?

  361. Brother Jim: How many times has that happened to you?

  362. Brother Jim: The question is not whether God has given us opportunities.

  363. Brother Jim: The question is whether we are

  364. Brother Jim: willing to step in to the

  365. Brother Jim: battlefield, onto the

  366. Brother Jim: battlefield, to seize those

  367. Brother Jim: opportunities while Christ sends

  368. Brother Jim: his people in the world to reach

  369. Brother Jim: the lost.

  370. Brother Jim: Satan works tirelessly to keep

  371. Brother Jim: people isolated, distracted,

  372. Brother Jim: deceived.

  373. Brother Jim: And guess what?

  374. Brother Jim: Spiritually blind.

  375. Brother Jim: Christ says, go, Satan, stay.

  376. Brother Jim: Says stay comfortable.

  377. Brother Jim: Christ says, speak the truth.

  378. Brother Jim: Satan says, shh.

  379. Brother Jim: Remain silent.

  380. Brother Jim: Christ says, reach the lost.

  381. Brother Jim: Satan says, guess what?

  382. Brother Jim: Someone else will do it.

  383. Brother Jim: Jim, you don't have to worry about that church.

  384. Brother Jim: Every day we choose which voice we will follow.

  385. Brother Jim: Jesus called you and me to be on

  386. Brother Jim: the front line, defending the

  387. Brother Jim: faith and advancing the kingdom

  388. Brother Jim: of God, gaining ground, not

  389. Brother Jim: retreating.

  390. Brother Jim: Why is this so important?

  391. Brother Jim: Because Satan's mission is to keep people unreached.

  392. Brother Jim: Satan.

  393. Brother Jim: Oh, he desperately wants believers and churches to become

  394. Brother Jim: comfortable and complacent.

  395. Brother Jim: As we talked last week.

  396. Brother Jim: Characteristics of a dying church.

  397. Brother Jim: Again, he wants us to be comfortable and complacent.

  398. Brother Jim: And again, my friends, as I mentioned last week, traditions

  399. Brother Jim: are great, but sometimes we can get lost up in those.

  400. Brother Jim: Our time is now.

  401. Brother Jim: Do we understand that our time is now?

  402. Brother Jim: Starting today, tomorrow, the rest of the week coming up in

  403. Brother Jim: our world, today is not time.

  404. Brother Jim: One of the most valuable things we possess does not the enemy

  405. Brother Jim: whisper things such as.

  406. Brother Jim: As I said earlier, someone else will tell them.

  407. Brother Jim: You might offend them.

  408. Brother Jim: Keep your faith private, brother Jim Sue.

  409. Brother Jim: You don't know enough scripture.

  410. Brother Jim: Larry, you're not educated

  411. Brother Jim: enough to tell anybody about

  412. Brother Jim: God.

  413. Brother Jim: Jim Hartsock, you are not qualified.

  414. Brother Jim: Qualified to be a witness of Christ.

  415. Brother Jim: Is it not better to remain silent?

  416. Brother Jim: Church.

  417. Brother Jim: Those thoughts do not advance the gospel.

  418. Brother Jim: Satan does not want you and I testifying.

  419. Brother Jim: Last week.

  420. Brother Jim: We had some great testimonies, did we not?

  421. Brother Jim: Of how God is answering prayer and maybe, just maybe, that

  422. Brother Jim: inspired one of you going through something Satan does not

  423. Brother Jim: want believers testifying.

  424. Brother Jim: Satan does not want us speaking of hope.

  425. Brother Jim: Satan does not want us sharing

  426. Brother Jim: what Jesus Christ has done in

  427. Brother Jim: our lives.

  428. Brother Jim: How many could stand up and just

  429. Brother Jim: say, oh, if it wasn't for Jesus

  430. Brother Jim: Christ, I'd probably be dead by

  431. Brother Jim: now.

  432. Brother Jim: I would be in a place so low if it wasn't for my Jesus.

  433. Brother Jim: Keeping us silent.

  434. Brother Jim: So let me ask you something this morning.

  435. Brother Jim: This morning, church.

  436. Brother Jim: Have I become silent?

  437. Brother Jim: Have I become comfortable?

  438. Brother Jim: Have I become content to let someone else do what God has

  439. Brother Jim: called me to do?

  440. Brother Jim: The enemy knows that a gospel

  441. Brother Jim: that is never shared cannot

  442. Brother Jim: transform lives.

  443. Brother Jim: Rockford Church.

  444. Brother Jim: Ask yourself this morning whose

  445. Brother Jim: mission is receiving more of my

  446. Brother Jim: attention?

  447. Brother Jim: Christ's mission or Satan's mission?

  448. Brother Jim: My own mission.

  449. Brother Jim: Satan's mission is to create distractions.

  450. Brother Jim: Now, is it not true that we live

  451. Brother Jim: in a world that we've been

  452. Brother Jim: surrounded by so many

  453. Brother Jim: distractions?

  454. Brother Jim: Anybody here not distracted during the day?

  455. Brother Jim: If so, raise your hand and tell me how you do it.

  456. Brother Jim: Unless you're living in a little

  457. Brother Jim: bubble with no, I mean all by

  458. Brother Jim: yourself.

  459. Brother Jim: Distractions.

  460. Brother Jim: My friends look around our culture.

  461. Brother Jim: We are consistently, constantly

  462. Brother Jim: connected, constantly

  463. Brother Jim: entertained.

  464. Brother Jim: We are constantly busy.

  465. Brother Jim: And yet, how often are we spiritually exhausted?

  466. Brother Jim: Many churches.

  467. Brother Jim: Again.

  468. Brother Jim: Last week we talked about the dying church.

  469. Brother Jim: Many churches at once overflowed with.

  470. Brother Jim: People now have empty pews.

  471. Brother Jim: People gathered faithfully to

  472. Brother Jim: worship, to go to prayer

  473. Brother Jim: meetings, Bible studies, and

  474. Brother Jim: fellowship.

  475. Brother Jim: And where have the people gone?

  476. Brother Jim: What has captured our attention?

  477. Brother Jim: What has captured your attention?

  478. Brother Jim: Now, before anyone misunderstands me.

  479. Brother Jim: Hey, I get it.

  480. Brother Jim: Life is busy.

  481. Brother Jim: I completely understand.

  482. Brother Jim: Families are busy, work is

  483. Brother Jim: demanding and responsibilities

  484. Brother Jim: are real.

  485. Brother Jim: And I understand that.

  486. Brother Jim: But the question remains how much are we willing to

  487. Brother Jim: compromise when it comes to giving God our time?

  488. Brother Jim: How much do you compromise?

  489. Brother Jim: How much do you compromise?

  490. Brother Jim: How much do I compromise my time?

  491. Brother Jim: And consider what.

  492. Brother Jim: Consider what often consumes our attention.

  493. Brother Jim: Our children.

  494. Brother Jim: Our grandchildren, which are blessings, are they not?

  495. Brother Jim: But then you roll into children's sports.

  496. Brother Jim: That's a big one.

  497. Brother Jim: How many ball fields are filled on a Sunday morning?

  498. Brother Jim: And again, I am not anti sports,

  499. Brother Jim: but really on a Sunday morning,

  500. Brother Jim: Sunday afternoon, our

  501. Brother Jim: entertainment.

  502. Brother Jim: And again I've said we all love to be entertained.

  503. Brother Jim: Our social media time.

  504. Brother Jim: Guilty as charged.

  505. Brother Jim: Our material possessions, our careers, our hobbies, endless

  506. Brother Jim: schedules, endless schedules.

  507. Brother Jim: And again, none of these things

  508. Brother Jim: are necessarily sinful by

  509. Brother Jim: themselves.

  510. Brother Jim: Yet any good thing can become a

  511. Brother Jim: dangerous thing when it

  512. Brother Jim: consistently pushes.

  513. Brother Jim: God pushes God out of the margins of our lives.

  514. Brother Jim: And you know what, my friends?

  515. Brother Jim: The enemy does not always try to make people evil.

  516. Brother Jim: No he doesn't.

  517. Brother Jim: Sometimes Satan simply keeps

  518. Brother Jim: them busy enough to neglect what

  519. Brother Jim: matters most.

  520. Brother Jim: Now, isn't that a great ploy?

  521. Brother Jim: That's pretty ingenious, isn't it?

  522. Brother Jim: To keep you so busy to where, at

  523. Brother Jim: the end of the day, you got

  524. Brother Jim: nothing left.

  525. Brother Jim: God gets the short end of the straw again.

  526. Brother Jim: But there's always tomorrow.

  527. Brother Jim: Tomorrow morning, Lord, I'm

  528. Brother Jim: going to wake up and I'm going

  529. Brother Jim: to pray.

  530. Brother Jim: I'm going to get in my Bible.

  531. Brother Jim: Well, guess what happens?

  532. Brother Jim: The alarm doesn't go off.

  533. Brother Jim: Somebody calls, hey, can you come get the kids?

  534. Brother Jim: True work needs you early.

  535. Brother Jim: We miss out.

  536. Brother Jim: Neglecting what matters most.

  537. Brother Jim: Busy enough not to pray.

  538. Brother Jim: Busy enough not to truly worship.

  539. Brother Jim: Busy enough not to serve.

  540. Brother Jim: Busy enough not to share Christ.

  541. Brother Jim: And yes, busy O. Busy enough not

  542. Brother Jim: to notice those who are

  543. Brother Jim: spiritually lost.

  544. Brother Jim: Church.

  545. Brother Jim: Are you and I neglecting God?

  546. Brother Jim: Are we neglecting the mission Christ has given us?

  547. Brother Jim: Are we neglecting those who

  548. Brother Jim: desperately need the hope of

  549. Brother Jim: gospel?

  550. Brother Jim: Again, Christ's mission is to

  551. Brother Jim: spread truth John fourteen six

  552. Brother Jim: we are told, Jesus said to him,

  553. Brother Jim: I am the way, the truth, and the

  554. Brother Jim: life.

  555. Brother Jim: No one comes to him comes to the father except through me.

  556. Brother Jim: Either you believe the gospel or you don't.

  557. Brother Jim: Now to me this word, the gospel, proclaims the truth.

  558. Brother Jim: God created us and God loves us.

  559. Brother Jim: Sin separated us from him, you and I. Can we save ourselves?

  560. Brother Jim: No we can't.

  561. Brother Jim: Christ came into this world, died on the cross for our sins.

  562. Brother Jim: And here it goes.

  563. Brother Jim: It gets so sweet.

  564. Brother Jim: He rose again in victory through

  565. Brother Jim: faith in him, forgiveness,

  566. Brother Jim: reconciliation, and eternal

  567. Brother Jim: life.

  568. Brother Jim: They are all available to those who believe, and this is the

  569. Brother Jim: truth that changes lives.

  570. Brother Jim: This is the truth that sets people free.

  571. Brother Jim: And here's a newsflash for you.

  572. Brother Jim: This is the truth.

  573. Brother Jim: Satan desperately wants people to ignore, reject.

  574. Brother Jim: Or replace.

  575. Brother Jim: Are we not seeing replacement today, let alone the rejection?

  576. Brother Jim: But think about it.

  577. Brother Jim: What we're.

  578. Brother Jim: God's word is being replaced with.

  579. Brother Jim: God's commandments are being replaced with.

  580. Brother Jim: It's a free for all, is it not?

  581. Brother Jim: Christ's mission is to make disciples, make disciples, not

  582. Brother Jim: couch potatoes, not spectators, not believers hiding safely

  583. Brother Jim: behind church walls, within the.

  584. Brother Jim: Within the walls, with their bags packed, waiting on heaven.

  585. Brother Jim: Jesus did not merely tell us to make converts.

  586. Brother Jim: Jesus said, go and make disciples.

  587. Brother Jim: Now here's the thing.

  588. Brother Jim: As we come to an end here, a disciple obeys Christ.

  589. Brother Jim: A disciple grows in Christ, a

  590. Brother Jim: disciple becomes more like

  591. Brother Jim: Christ.

  592. Brother Jim: The goal is not simply helping someone pray a prayer.

  593. Brother Jim: The goal is helping people

  594. Brother Jim: become mature followers of Jesus

  595. Brother Jim: Christ.

  596. Brother Jim: Disciples learn God's work.

  597. Brother Jim: Disciples pray.

  598. Brother Jim: Disciples serve disciples,

  599. Brother Jim: worship disciples share their

  600. Brother Jim: faith, and disciples make other

  601. Brother Jim: disciples.

  602. Brother Jim: That's pretty simple, is it not?

  603. Brother Jim: But here you go again.

  604. Brother Jim: Satan's mission is very different.

  605. Brother Jim: Satan wants people spiritually immature.

  606. Brother Jim: Satan wants believers disconnected from God's word.

  607. Brother Jim: Satan wants Christians isolated from fellowship.

  608. Brother Jim: Satan wants churches filled with

  609. Brother Jim: attenders but empty of

  610. Brother Jim: disciples.

  611. Brother Jim: And why is that?

  612. Brother Jim: Because a growing disciple becomes, and here we go becomes

  613. Brother Jim: a dangerous threat.

  614. Brother Jim: And that's what I like that word today.

  615. Brother Jim: Dangerous threat.

  616. Brother Jim: Are you a dangerous threat?

  617. Brother Jim: To Satan's mission.

  618. Brother Jim: And if you are, then you know the truth.

  619. Brother Jim: You recognize deception.

  620. Brother Jim: You serve faithfully.

  621. Brother Jim: You share the gospel boldly.

  622. Brother Jim: You influence others for Christ, not for yourself, but for Jesus

  623. Brother Jim: Christ and the Kingdom Church.

  624. Brother Jim: Jesus never called us to simply occupy that pew.

  625. Brother Jim: Jesus called you and I as well

  626. Brother Jim: as this church, Rockford Church

  627. Brother Jim: to follow him and help others

  628. Brother Jim: follow him.

  629. Brother Jim: So let me ask you this morning.

  630. Brother Jim: Are you growing as a disciple?

  631. Brother Jim: Are you helping someone else grow in their journey and

  632. Brother Jim: becoming a disciple?

  633. Brother Jim: Is there anyone in your life who

  634. Brother Jim: is closer to Jesus because of

  635. Brother Jim: your influence?

  636. Brother Jim: Oh, think about that one, my friends.

  637. Brother Jim: Because of your influence, they're closer.

  638. Brother Jim: That's a yes or no answer.

  639. Brother Jim: Church.

  640. Brother Jim: The battle lines, they're very clear.

  641. Brother Jim: Now, we like to distort them.

  642. Brother Jim: But at the end of the day, they are very clear.

  643. Brother Jim: Whether you want to see it, whether you want to acknowledge

  644. Brother Jim: it or not, Jesus says, go.

  645. Brother Jim: Satan says, stay comfortable.

  646. Brother Jim: Jesus says, share the truth.

  647. Brother Jim: Satan says, stay silent.

  648. Brother Jim: Jesus says, make disciples.

  649. Brother Jim: Satan says, be distracted.

  650. Brother Jim: Jesus says, bring hope.

  651. Brother Jim: Satan says, spread despair.

  652. Brother Jim: The Great Commission remains the mission of the church today,

  653. Brother Jim: just as surely as it did two thousand years ago.

  654. Brother Jim: The question is not whether the mission still matters.

  655. Brother Jim: The question is whether you and I will answer Christ's call and

  656. Brother Jim: faithfully carry the gospel into a world that desperately.

  657. Brother Jim: Can anyone here come up with a

  658. Brother Jim: better word than desperately

  659. Brother Jim: that desperately needs Jesus

  660. Brother Jim: Christ?

  661. Brother Jim: And here's a challenge for every person here today.

  662. Brother Jim: If every person here today shared Christ as faithfully as

  663. Brother Jim: they were able, if you shared Christ as much as you share

  664. Brother Jim: Facebook posts and all that.

  665. Brother Jim: How many more people would hear the gospel this year?

  666. Brother Jim: Think about that.

  667. Brother Jim: Every person here this morning prayed daily.

  668. Brother Jim: If every person here today prayed daily for one lost

  669. Brother Jim: person, what might God do?

  670. Brother Jim: Think about that.

  671. Brother Jim: Church.

  672. Brother Jim: May we choose Christ's mission over comfort.

  673. Brother Jim: Obedience over fear, faithfulness over distraction,

  674. Brother Jim: disciple making, over complacency, and the Great

  675. Brother Jim: Commission over every excuse that we can come up with.

  676. Brother Jim: May God find you and I as well

  677. Brother Jim: as this church, Rockford Church,

  678. Brother Jim: standing faithfully on the front

  679. Brother Jim: lines until Jesus Christ comes

  680. Brother Jim: back.

  681. Brother Jim: Does anybody know that day?

  682. Brother Jim: No. Not one person here.

  683. Brother Jim: Not any.

  684. Brother Jim: I don't care how educated

  685. Brother Jim: philosophical you are, you don't

  686. Brother Jim: know.

  687. Brother Jim: So why take the chance?

  688. Brother Jim: We are told to go.

  689. Brother Jim: But first off, you better make sure y'all's inside your heart.

  690. Brother Jim: Your soul belongs to Jesus.

  691. Brother Jim: True.

  692. Brother Jim: This ain't no game, my friends.

  693. Brother Jim: This ain't no game.

  694. Brother Jim: From the back row to the front row.

  695. Brother Jim: To everybody in between.

  696. Brother Jim: We are all going to answer.

  697. Brother Jim: And again I said, there's only two kingdoms you can choose.

  698. Brother Jim: There's only two places you're going to go.

  699. Brother Jim: Heaven or hell, and it's your place.

  700. Brother Jim: It's your choice.

  701. Brother Jim: And if you find yourself in hell, don't you dare blame God.

  702. Brother Jim: And I truly believe.

  703. Brother Jim: When we read in revelations about the gnawing thrashing of

  704. Brother Jim: teeth and all that good stuff.

  705. Brother Jim: I honestly believe that is going to be people screaming out to

  706. Brother Jim: God and damning God.

  707. Brother Jim: Because why did you do this to me?

  708. Brother Jim: No, you did it to yourself.

  709. Brother Jim: You did it to yourself.

  710. Brother Jim: So, my friends, we don't know if

  711. Brother Jim: tomorrow is going to be there

  712. Brother Jim: for us.

  713. Brother Jim: So if you don't know Jesus Christ, what are you waiting on?

  714. Brother Jim: I am pleading with you.

  715. Brother Jim: Is there going to be no parties in hell?

  716. Brother Jim: There ain't going to be no bonfires.

  717. Brother Jim: Me and Jim and Jim and Joe and

  718. Brother Jim: everybody sitting around

  719. Brother Jim: drinking beer, having a good old

  720. Brother Jim: time.

  721. Brother Jim: That's what I hear.

  722. Brother Jim: So much of that is a straight out lie from Satan, is it not?

  723. Brother Jim: Next week we're going to get into hell a little bit.

  724. Brother Jim: So again, we understand what the people out there are facing and

  725. Brother Jim: maybe some of you are facing.

  726. Brother Jim: If you don't clean your acts up and change your ways, get down

  727. Brother Jim: on your knees, repent and ask God to forgive you.

  728. Brother Jim: Or better yet, ask God to get you into your heart.

  729. Brother Jim: Again, may God.

  730. Brother Jim: May God find you and I in this church, standing faithfully on

  731. Brother Jim: the front lines until Jesus Christ comes back.

  732. Brother Jim: So church, I ask you, are you feeling dangerous today for God?

  733. Brother Jim: This morning, my friends, are you feeling dangerous?

  734. Brother Jim: I like that.

  735. Brother Jim: Amen.
