  1. Brother Jim: Dave. Well, again, as today is Father's Day.

  2. Brother Jim: And I asked you in the

  3. Brother Jim: beginning, what what is a father

  4. Brother Jim: to you?

  5. Brother Jim: What does dad mean to you?

  6. Brother Jim: Daddy.

  7. Brother Jim: Grandpa.

  8. Brother Jim: Pappy.

  9. Brother Jim: Pops.

  10. Brother Jim: El padre.

  11. Brother Jim: Did you ever think about it?

  12. Brother Jim: And if you look at the title,

  13. Brother Jim: why does Satan hate, hate a

  14. Brother Jim: godly father?

  15. Brother Jim: Now, there are many types of fathers in this world.

  16. Brother Jim: And unfortunately, in our

  17. Brother Jim: country today, many fathers are

  18. Brother Jim: men.

  19. Brother Jim: Let me rephrase that.

  20. Brother Jim: Men are stepping away from their responsibility to be a father.

  21. Brother Jim: And then you have the men who are in the family or involved,

  22. Brother Jim: but they are not willing.

  23. Brother Jim: And here's the key word.

  24. Brother Jim: Willing to be a man of God, a father that believes.

  25. Brother Jim: A father that prays kneels to his God.

  26. Brother Jim: Would you not all agree?

  27. Brother Jim: Maybe that's the problem.

  28. Brother Jim: One of the biggest problems in our country today.

  29. Brother Jim: Satan has destroyed the family unit.

  30. Brother Jim: And what better place to start

  31. Brother Jim: than right there at the man, the

  32. Brother Jim: father.

  33. Brother Jim: Because he leads, he sets examples.

  34. Brother Jim: And if we go back to biblical truth, there is a role for each.

  35. Brother Jim: A mother and a father, a husband and a wife.

  36. Brother Jim: What have we become?

  37. Brother Jim: Men?

  38. Brother Jim: Have we let society strip us of our manhood?

  39. Brother Jim: A very good friend of mine, just before service started said, you

  40. Brother Jim: know, Fathers Day services can be brutal because the fathers

  41. Brother Jim: get torn up And I don't want that to be today.

  42. Brother Jim: It's about encouragement.

  43. Brother Jim: It's about questioning.

  44. Brother Jim: AM I doing the job?

  45. Brother Jim: And there's nothing wrong with questioning yourself.

  46. Brother Jim: That's how we grow, is it not?

  47. Brother Jim: That's how we become more mature is by growing.

  48. Brother Jim: But we gotta stop and look and see.

  49. Brother Jim: How many gardens do we have out there today?

  50. Brother Jim: Oh, mine is a mess because the weeds take over.

  51. Brother Jim: All of us, including men and

  52. Brother Jim: women, need to check our gardens

  53. Brother Jim: to make sure we're pulling out

  54. Brother Jim: the weeds.

  55. Brother Jim: Because you know what a weed can do.

  56. Brother Jim: It will strangle the growth.

  57. Brother Jim: It will kill the plant.

  58. Brother Jim: And maybe today that is what has happened.

  59. Brother Jim: Because you know what?

  60. Brother Jim: I'm going to be very honest here this morning.

  61. Brother Jim: How many men just don't feel like anybody cares anymore?

  62. Brother Jim: I'm here to provide.

  63. Brother Jim: I'm here to protect.

  64. Brother Jim: But that's just about it.

  65. Brother Jim: Because dad gets skipped over so many times.

  66. Brother Jim: How many fathers out there today didn't even have a choice in

  67. Brother Jim: what they get to do today on their day, Huh?

  68. Brother Jim: Because we just go along and we're okay with that.

  69. Brother Jim: But there are some things we cannot be okay with.

  70. Brother Jim: And as I said today, we honor fathers, grandfathers,

  71. Brother Jim: stepfathers, adoptive fathers, and every man who has stepped

  72. Brother Jim: into the role of guiding and loving the next generation.

  73. Brother Jim: And that's what we need to

  74. Brother Jim: remember to the next generation

  75. Brother Jim: coming up the Sunday morning, I

  76. Brother Jim: want you and I to understand

  77. Brother Jim: something.

  78. Brother Jim: Many people, especially society,

  79. Brother Jim: our world today, they completely

  80. Brother Jim: forget about it or they ignore

  81. Brother Jim: it.

  82. Brother Jim: The devil is not intimidated by

  83. Brother Jim: a man simply because he has a

  84. Brother Jim: father.

  85. Brother Jim: Did you hear that?

  86. Brother Jim: The devil is not intimidated by a man who is simply a father?

  87. Brother Jim: And again, now, my son, a little harsh this morning, especially

  88. Brother Jim: on Father's Day.

  89. Brother Jim: But it is the truth and nothing but the to truth.

  90. Brother Jim: Satan is threatened by a father who belongs.

  91. Brother Jim: And there's the key word who belongs to Jesus Christ.

  92. Brother Jim: And nothing else belongs to Jesus Christ and nothing else.

  93. Brother Jim: Now Satan knows something that many people have forgotten.

  94. Brother Jim: If Satan can weaken the father,

  95. Brother Jim: Satan can often weaken the

  96. Brother Jim: family.

  97. Brother Jim: And how true that is today.

  98. Brother Jim: Now it's just my opinion here.

  99. Brother Jim: But Satan is definitely right in the middle of a very successful

  100. Brother Jim: campaign of sin and evil in our American families today.

  101. Brother Jim: True.

  102. Brother Jim: If Satan can divide and weaken the father, Satan can divide and

  103. Brother Jim: weaken the home again.

  104. Brother Jim: Simple truth there.

  105. Brother Jim: If Satan can silence a father.

  106. Brother Jim: Satan so many times can often

  107. Brother Jim: silence spiritual leadership if

  108. Brother Jim: Satan can.

  109. Brother Jim: Oh, here's a big one.

  110. Brother Jim: If Satan can discourage the

  111. Brother Jim: father, Satan may and will

  112. Brother Jim: influence generations.

  113. Brother Jim: In a nutshell, that is why a godly father.

  114. Brother Jim: Fathers are under constant attack and if you don't believe

  115. Brother Jim: that, pull your dad.

  116. Brother Jim: Pull your husband aside and just ask him.

  117. Brother Jim: Make a little time.

  118. Brother Jim: Say baby, I want to know are you under attack?

  119. Brother Jim: Are you under spiritual attack?

  120. Brother Jim: And tell me about it.

  121. Brother Jim: Put your phones away.

  122. Brother Jim: Sit down and actually ask the man.

  123. Brother Jim: Here's a fact for you.

  124. Brother Jim: Satan hates God's design and that design is the family.

  125. Brother Jim: He hates God's design.

  126. Brother Jim: From the very beginning, God established a family in Eden.

  127. Brother Jim: God created marriage.

  128. Brother Jim: God created the home.

  129. Brother Jim: God created parents.

  130. Brother Jim: God created children.

  131. Brother Jim: The family was not man's idea.

  132. Brother Jim: The family was God's plan.

  133. Brother Jim: The family was God's idea.

  134. Brother Jim: The first institution God established.

  135. Brother Jim: Guess what was not government was not businesses and not even

  136. Brother Jim: the nation of Israel.

  137. Brother Jim: It was the family.

  138. Brother Jim: First thing God established was the family.

  139. Brother Jim: The family is God's training ground for faith.

  140. Brother Jim: So if you are the enemy and you

  141. Brother Jim: really hate God as well as God's

  142. Brother Jim: creation.

  143. Brother Jim: Man, you and I. Why wouldn't

  144. Brother Jim: Satan attack the family unit

  145. Brother Jim: first?

  146. Brother Jim: Good question, isn't it?

  147. Brother Jim: And I think it's proven true today.

  148. Brother Jim: Now, if you go to Ecclesiastes or excuse me, Ephesians six ten

  149. Brother Jim: to twelve out of the NIV.

  150. Brother Jim: Ephesians six ten to twelve.

  151. Brother Jim: I got it up there on the board for you.

  152. Brother Jim: Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

  153. Brother Jim: And here's the problem today, friends, I'm going to interrupt

  154. Brother Jim: the scripture just for a minute.

  155. Brother Jim: Men don't even know about the armor of God.

  156. Brother Jim: Men are not willing to put on the armor of God because maybe,

  157. Brother Jim: just maybe, it might shame them because we're men.

  158. Brother Jim: Every guy here pound your chest.

  159. Brother Jim: I'm a man.

  160. Brother Jim: I can do it on my own.

  161. Brother Jim: I don't need help.

  162. Brother Jim: But that's the problem.

  163. Brother Jim: We all do, don't we?

  164. Brother Jim: So first off, put on the full armor of God.

  165. Brother Jim: So that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.

  166. Brother Jim: For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the

  167. Brother Jim: rulers, the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers

  168. Brother Jim: of this dark world and against.

  169. Brother Jim: And here we go again, what we've

  170. Brother Jim: been talking about against the

  171. Brother Jim: spiritual forces of evil in the

  172. Brother Jim: heavenly realms.

  173. Brother Jim: Now, you don't have to be a

  174. Brother Jim: brain surgeon to figure all this

  175. Brother Jim: out.

  176. Brother Jim: Every attack against the family

  177. Brother Jim: is ultimately an attack against

  178. Brother Jim: God himself.

  179. Brother Jim: Can we agree today?

  180. Brother Jim: Satan is not dumb.

  181. Brother Jim: Satan is not ignorant.

  182. Brother Jim: Satan knows that a healthy

  183. Brother Jim: family produces healthy and

  184. Brother Jim: strong followers of Jesus Christ

  185. Brother Jim: who will produce a healthy

  186. Brother Jim: church body.

  187. Brother Jim: Healthy churches strengthen communities.

  188. Brother Jim: Healthy communities influence nations.

  189. Brother Jim: But hey, the way Satan looks at it.

  190. Brother Jim: Destroy the family and

  191. Brother Jim: everything else becomes easier

  192. Brother Jim: to destroy.

  193. Brother Jim: And if we're honest today, we as

  194. Brother Jim: mankind, we've all played a part

  195. Brother Jim: in one way or another of leaving

  196. Brother Jim: the front door wide open for

  197. Brother Jim: destruction.

  198. Brother Jim: Whether you want to admit it or not.

  199. Brother Jim: And I know as a father looking back.

  200. Brother Jim: Oh baby, the mistakes I made.

  201. Brother Jim: I'm embarrassed about the way I

  202. Brother Jim: left all the doors, all the

  203. Brother Jim: windows open.

  204. Brother Jim: Not realizing what Satan hadn't planned.

  205. Brother Jim: Now, church, if we were at war, where is always a good place to

  206. Brother Jim: start with winning the battle.

  207. Brother Jim: If you take out the leaders, your odds become significantly

  208. Brother Jim: better for victory.

  209. Brother Jim: True in saying that Satan hates

  210. Brother Jim: Fathers who lead again, who lead

  211. Brother Jim: spiritually.

  212. Brother Jim: In Joshua twenty four.

  213. Brother Jim: Joshua twenty four fifteen.

  214. Brother Jim: But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose

  215. Brother Jim: for yourselves this day.

  216. Brother Jim: Whom will you serve?

  217. Brother Jim: Whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or

  218. Brother Jim: the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living.

  219. Brother Jim: But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.

  220. Brother Jim: We will serve the Lord.

  221. Brother Jim: Now notice Joshua.

  222. Brother Jim: He did not ask permission.

  223. Brother Jim: Joshua.

  224. Brother Jim: Guess what he did?

  225. Brother Jim: He accepted responsibility.

  226. Brother Jim: Satan fears fathers who will lead his family in prayer.

  227. Brother Jim: Who will read God's words.

  228. Brother Jim: Satan fears a father who will show up.

  229. Brother Jim: And bring his family to worship.

  230. Brother Jim: A father, a man who is not

  231. Brother Jim: afraid to talk about his own

  232. Brother Jim: shortcomings and repent of his

  233. Brother Jim: sins.

  234. Brother Jim: Oh, there's a big one there.

  235. Brother Jim: A man, a father who repents of his sins.

  236. Brother Jim: What are we teaching our kids?

  237. Brother Jim: It's okay.

  238. Brother Jim: You need to repent, don't you?

  239. Brother Jim: A father, a man who loves his wife and is willing to teach his

  240. Brother Jim: family biblical truth.

  241. Brother Jim: Not what you read on Instagram.

  242. Brother Jim: Not what you read on social media.

  243. Brother Jim: Teaching.

  244. Brother Jim: Showing loving biblical truth.

  245. Brother Jim: A father who kneels before God becomes very difficult for Satan

  246. Brother Jim: to knock down.

  247. Brother Jim: Church.

  248. Brother Jim: Imagine a lighthouse during a violent storm.

  249. Brother Jim: The waves crashed.

  250. Brother Jim: The winds.

  251. Brother Jim: How the darkness covers the sea.

  252. Brother Jim: Ships survive.

  253. Brother Jim: Think of them big old ships out there.

  254. Brother Jim: Them big freightliners.

  255. Brother Jim: Because the lighthouses, they never stop shining.

  256. Brother Jim: A godly father is meant to be the lighthouse of his home.

  257. Brother Jim: And Satan wants to extinguish that light.

  258. Brother Jim: No matter what.

  259. Brother Jim: God wants it shining brighter

  260. Brother Jim: than ever, especially in our

  261. Brother Jim: world today.

  262. Brother Jim: Thus, there sits dad, the battle raging in his heart, mind, and

  263. Brother Jim: soul, trying so desperately to keep the light on for his family

  264. Brother Jim: while the world, and at times even his own family keep trying

  265. Brother Jim: to put it out.

  266. Brother Jim: Again my friends, that is where

  267. Brother Jim: communication is so important

  268. Brother Jim: between mom and dad, husband and

  269. Brother Jim: wife.

  270. Brother Jim: because usually a man will not

  271. Brother Jim: complain about how he's getting

  272. Brother Jim: stomped, trampled on by the

  273. Brother Jim: world, and even times his own

  274. Brother Jim: family.

  275. Brother Jim: And most of the time they don't even know they're doing it.

  276. Brother Jim: And you know what?

  277. Brother Jim: I'm sorry, women, but on this one, and I'm being dead honest

  278. Brother Jim: from a man's perspective, a father, you have no idea the

  279. Brother Jim: pressure and self-judgment a man is under this day and age.

  280. Brother Jim: Now, I know our women.

  281. Brother Jim: Our moms have their own issues that we don't understand.

  282. Brother Jim: But for a minute, I want you to think about your man's pressure,

  283. Brother Jim: that he is on each and every day that he is under.

  284. Brother Jim: Trying to keep all safe, all well for the people that he

  285. Brother Jim: loves so much.

  286. Brother Jim: And Satan knows fathers.

  287. Brother Jim: He knows this.

  288. Brother Jim: As I said, he's no dummy Me father's shape.

  289. Brother Jim: Generations.

  290. Brother Jim: Fathers have the ability, if

  291. Brother Jim: they choose, to mold their

  292. Brother Jim: family, and especially those

  293. Brother Jim: sweet little babies, the little

  294. Brother Jim: ones who watch, listen and

  295. Brother Jim: imitate them.

  296. Brother Jim: Does that not make a man's heart so good?

  297. Brother Jim: When you see the little one come

  298. Brother Jim: out, grab his little plastic or

  299. Brother Jim: rubber tools and start

  300. Brother Jim: pretending to work imitating

  301. Brother Jim: you.

  302. Brother Jim: Out baling hay.

  303. Brother Jim: That made my day.

  304. Brother Jim: Seeing your little boys.

  305. Brother Jim: Todd out there trying to push these square bales.

  306. Brother Jim: And they were trying as hard as they could to get the job done.

  307. Brother Jim: Imitating daddy.

  308. Brother Jim: Father's shape.

  309. Brother Jim: Generations.

  310. Brother Jim: When dad forgives, they understand grace.

  311. Brother Jim: When dad serves, they see humility.

  312. Brother Jim: When dad prays, they learn dependence on God.

  313. Brother Jim: When dad loves mom, They witnessed Christ like love.

  314. Brother Jim: Let's be honest today.

  315. Brother Jim: No father is perfect.

  316. Brother Jim: Especially the man who stands before you today.

  317. Brother Jim: But faithful fathers leave footprints worth following.

  318. Brother Jim: Satan knows today's fathers, shapes tomorrow's adults, shapes

  319. Brother Jim: the future generations.

  320. Brother Jim: One faithful father can influence children,

  321. Brother Jim: grandchildren, great grandchildren, and generations

  322. Brother Jim: beyond that, my friends.

  323. Brother Jim: And that is exactly why Satan fights so stinking hard.

  324. Brother Jim: To keep a father, a man down.

  325. Brother Jim: For all men as well as fathers.

  326. Brother Jim: Today, how many of us can say

  327. Brother Jim: that Satan attacks fathers

  328. Brother Jim: through discouragement?

  329. Brother Jim: Discouragement?

  330. Brother Jim: One of the greatest, one of the

  331. Brother Jim: greatest weapons Satan has in

  332. Brother Jim: his arsenal is not always

  333. Brother Jim: temptation.

  334. Brother Jim: Sometimes one of the greatest

  335. Brother Jim: weapons Satan uses is

  336. Brother Jim: discouragement.

  337. Brother Jim: And if we're honest this morning, Satan can and will

  338. Brother Jim: whisper in a man's ear, Jim, you are not good enough.

  339. Brother Jim: Bob, you've already failed.

  340. Brother Jim: Chris, your kids just don't listen to you.

  341. Brother Jim: Todd you've messed up so much.

  342. Brother Jim: And Larry, just give up.

  343. Brother Jim: My friends, my brothers.

  344. Brother Jim: Those lies are not the voice of God.

  345. Brother Jim: No matter how hard he tries to

  346. Brother Jim: whisper, that is not the voice

  347. Brother Jim: of God.

  348. Brother Jim: God convicts, Satan condemns.

  349. Brother Jim: And yes, church, there is a difference.

  350. Brother Jim: The gospel says failure is never final.

  351. Brother Jim: When grace is what?

  352. Brother Jim: When grace is available.

  353. Brother Jim: I cannot speak for fathers from other generations, but I sure

  354. Brother Jim: can speak of it today.

  355. Brother Jim: Satan attacks fathers through distraction as well.

  356. Brother Jim: Never before have fathers been

  357. Brother Jim: surrounded by so many

  358. Brother Jim: distractions careers, money,

  359. Brother Jim: recreation, phones, social

  360. Brother Jim: media, entertainment and we

  361. Brother Jim: cannot forget.

  362. Brother Jim: Busy busy busy.

  363. Brother Jim: I know mamas who you're running all the time, but the fathers

  364. Brother Jim: are there too.

  365. Brother Jim: Trying to keep the home front up.

  366. Brother Jim: Who's going to mow the yard when

  367. Brother Jim: mom's gotta go here, here and

  368. Brother Jim: here?

  369. Brother Jim: Who's gotta do this?

  370. Brother Jim: Need tires?

  371. Brother Jim: Don't worry babe, I'll take the car in to get the tires.

  372. Brother Jim: Here, you take my car.

  373. Brother Jim: We miss out on so much because

  374. Brother Jim: we have to take care of all the

  375. Brother Jim: little things.

  376. Brother Jim: And again, I'm not saying mamas don't, but didn't God give us

  377. Brother Jim: each jobs to work together?

  378. Brother Jim: But again, Satan destroys that

  379. Brother Jim: fundamental o the family unit

  380. Brother Jim: that he wants, that God wants by

  381. Brother Jim: dividing our time, distracting

  382. Brother Jim: us.

  383. Brother Jim: I need to provide my.

  384. Brother Jim: So my family can have all that I never had.

  385. Brother Jim: How many daddies have said that in the course of their life?

  386. Brother Jim: Yes.

  387. Brother Jim: Guilty as charged.

  388. Brother Jim: Never had what I had when I was young.

  389. Brother Jim: I need to be there to support my children in their activities,

  390. Brother Jim: because all other men are there on the bleachers.

  391. Brother Jim: Even though I'm running on three

  392. Brother Jim: hours of sleep and I got a shift

  393. Brother Jim: coming up here in about five

  394. Brother Jim: hours.

  395. Brother Jim: And again, none of these are necessarily sinful.

  396. Brother Jim: But if Satan cannot make a

  397. Brother Jim: father evil, Satan will try so

  398. Brother Jim: many other ways today to keep

  399. Brother Jim: him busy.

  400. Brother Jim: Busy enough to stop praying, busy enough to stop bleeding,

  401. Brother Jim: busy enough to stop talking.

  402. Brother Jim: You ever run into a father?

  403. Brother Jim: A man who just doesn't talk anymore?

  404. Brother Jim: Ever asked that man why?

  405. Brother Jim: Busy enough to stop noticing.

  406. Brother Jim: And I'm going to add this one here.

  407. Brother Jim: Busy enough because nobody cares.

  408. Brother Jim: And I'm speaking today.

  409. Brother Jim: Nobody cares how you ask how

  410. Brother Jim: many men at the end of the day,

  411. Brother Jim: who do you got to talk to,

  412. Brother Jim: brother Tim.

  413. Brother Jim: Who you got to talk to, Dave.

  414. Brother Jim: Who you got to talk to.

  415. Brother Jim: It's true, isn't it?

  416. Brother Jim: Because if we talk, we show weakness.

  417. Brother Jim: If we talk, we show that we are

  418. Brother Jim: not as manly as we're supposed

  419. Brother Jim: to be.

  420. Brother Jim: Guess what, folks?

  421. Brother Jim: Men got feelings, don't we?

  422. Brother Jim: We hurt, we cry.

  423. Brother Jim: We grieve.

  424. Brother Jim: We worry.

  425. Brother Jim: But again, we're a man.

  426. Brother Jim: So that.

  427. Brother Jim: Gotta push that to the side.

  428. Brother Jim: Put your big boy boots on.

  429. Brother Jim: Right, Todd.

  430. Brother Jim: Man up.

  431. Brother Jim: Get through it.

  432. Brother Jim: Sometimes.

  433. Brother Jim: Satan's greatest victories happen not through rebellion,

  434. Brother Jim: but through distractions.

  435. Brother Jim: And here's another one for you.

  436. Brother Jim: Satan attacks fathers through division.

  437. Brother Jim: Jesus said, A house divided cannot stand.

  438. Brother Jim: Satan delights in that.

  439. Brother Jim: Material conflicts, marital conflicts, broken

  440. Brother Jim: communications, bitterness, resentment, and unforgiveness.

  441. Brother Jim: Why?

  442. Brother Jim: Because divided parents and divided homes often create.

  443. Brother Jim: You know what they create

  444. Brother Jim: confused children who do not

  445. Brother Jim: feel loved.

  446. Brother Jim: Children who don't know.

  447. Brother Jim: Where am I going to spend the night tonight?

  448. Brother Jim: AM I going to daddy's.

  449. Brother Jim: AM I going to mommy's?

  450. Brother Jim: Or I'm sleeping on Grandma and Grandpa's couch?

  451. Brother Jim: Or even worse situations?

  452. Brother Jim: I don't know where I'll be tonight.

  453. Brother Jim: If we go to Mark three twenty three to twenty six.

  454. Brother Jim: So Jesus called them over to him

  455. Brother Jim: and began to speak to them in

  456. Brother Jim: parables.

  457. Brother Jim: How can Satan drive out Satan if

  458. Brother Jim: a kingdom against is against

  459. Brother Jim: itself is divided against

  460. Brother Jim: itself, that kingdom cannot

  461. Brother Jim: stand.

  462. Brother Jim: If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

  463. Brother Jim: And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand, his

  464. Brother Jim: end has come.

  465. Brother Jim: In fact, no one can enter a strong man's house without first

  466. Brother Jim: tying him up.

  467. Brother Jim: Then he can plunder the strong man's house.

  468. Brother Jim: Truly, I tell you, people can be forgiven of all their sins and

  469. Brother Jim: every slander they utter.

  470. Brother Jim: But whoever blasphemies against

  471. Brother Jim: the Holy Spirit will never be

  472. Brother Jim: forgiven.

  473. Brother Jim: They are guilty of an eternal sin.

  474. Brother Jim: And I want to throw that in just a little extra bonus today.

  475. Brother Jim: God calls fathers to be peacemakers, not perfect men,

  476. Brother Jim: but humble men willing to apologize, willing to forgive.

  477. Brother Jim: Men willing to love.

  478. Brother Jim: First, Satan fears a father who prays.

  479. Brother Jim: And let me tell you something, my friends.

  480. Brother Jim: There is nothing.

  481. Brother Jim: Remember how I asked a couple Sundays ago?

  482. Brother Jim: Are you feeling dangerous?

  483. Brother Jim: Are you feeling dangerous?

  484. Brother Jim: Well, there.

  485. Brother Jim: There may be nothing more

  486. Brother Jim: dangerous to the kingdom of

  487. Brother Jim: darkness than a father on his

  488. Brother Jim: knees.

  489. Brother Jim: Let me repeat that.

  490. Brother Jim: A father on his knees.

  491. Brother Jim: Now, how many people have seen that personally?

  492. Brother Jim: A father on his knees.

  493. Brother Jim: Praying.

  494. Brother Jim: Prayer changes.

  495. Brother Jim: Fathers.

  496. Brother Jim: Prayer changes.

  497. Brother Jim: Marriages.

  498. Brother Jim: Prayer changes.

  499. Brother Jim: Children.

  500. Brother Jim: Prayer changes.

  501. Brother Jim: Homes.

  502. Brother Jim: Prayer changes, churches and prayers.

  503. Brother Jim: It can change communities and countries.

  504. Brother Jim: Satan trembles to the core.

  505. Brother Jim: When fathers and men stop relying on themselves.

  506. Brother Jim: are, as I said earlier, and begin to rely on God.

  507. Brother Jim: And here's some good news on Satan.

  508. Brother Jim: Satan cannot stop a father fully surrendered to Jesus Christ.

  509. Brother Jim: I'd like to think of a mule.

  510. Brother Jim: Stubborn, hard headed.

  511. Brother Jim: But you know what?

  512. Brother Jim: He's got a nasty kick, don't he?

  513. Brother Jim: Yes, you can.

  514. Brother Jim: Come on, Satan.

  515. Brother Jim: But you know what you're going to get.

  516. Brother Jim: Come on at me.

  517. Brother Jim: If we go back to Ephesians, the second part.

  518. Brother Jim: Excuse me.

  519. Brother Jim: Ephesians six thirteen to eighteen, therefore put on the

  520. Brother Jim: full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may

  521. Brother Jim: be able to stand your ground.

  522. Brother Jim: And after you have done everything to stand, stand firm.

  523. Brother Jim: Then, with the belt of truth

  524. Brother Jim: buckled around your waist with

  525. Brother Jim: the breastplate of righteousness

  526. Brother Jim: in place and with your feet

  527. Brother Jim: lifted.

  528. Brother Jim: Excuse me.

  529. Brother Jim: Fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

  530. Brother Jim: In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith.

  531. Brother Jim: There you go.

  532. Brother Jim: The shield of faith, which with

  533. Brother Jim: which you can extinguish all,

  534. Brother Jim: all the flaming arrows of the

  535. Brother Jim: evil one.

  536. Brother Jim: And yes, yes, yes, my friends, you don't think the devil

  537. Brother Jim: doesn't know Scripture?

  538. Brother Jim: Oh, trust me, the devil knows scripture.

  539. Brother Jim: Satan knows history.

  540. Brother Jim: Satan knows what happened when ordinary men surrender to God.

  541. Brother Jim: Ordinary men surrender to God.

  542. Brother Jim: Noah saved his family.

  543. Brother Jim: Through obedience.

  544. Brother Jim: Abraham became the father of nations.

  545. Brother Jim: Through faith, Joshua led an entire nation toward God.

  546. Brother Jim: Joseph protected his family

  547. Brother Jim: during famine because he

  548. Brother Jim: trusted.

  549. Brother Jim: He trusted God's plan.

  550. Brother Jim: Throughout history, God has

  551. Brother Jim: changed our world through

  552. Brother Jim: ordinary men.

  553. Brother Jim: And why is that?

  554. Brother Jim: Because they obeyed him.

  555. Brother Jim: And here's another fact.

  556. Brother Jim: Satan fears ordinary fathers who

  557. Brother Jim: become extraordinary because of

  558. Brother Jim: God's power.

  559. Brother Jim: So, church, let me ask you something as if I sometimes when

  560. Brother Jim: I say, let's flip the script, what does Satan want?

  561. Brother Jim: What does Satan want?

  562. Brother Jim: Have you ever taken the time to think about that?

  563. Brother Jim: What Satan desires fathers to do?

  564. Brother Jim: And it is so easy in our world today, a father who will quit, a

  565. Brother Jim: father who will compromise, a father who will stay silent.

  566. Brother Jim: A father who will neglect

  567. Brother Jim: prayer, neglect his family, a

  568. Brother Jim: father who chooses to ignore the

  569. Brother Jim: Scripture.

  570. Brother Jim: And here's the biggest one.

  571. Brother Jim: And I've said this and it plays right in to Satan's plan.

  572. Brother Jim: The one that kills a father's heart, his mind, his spirit.

  573. Brother Jim: A father who believes he does not matter.

  574. Brother Jim: A father who believes.

  575. Brother Jim: They just don't matter.

  576. Brother Jim: And I'm going to be honest here for a second.

  577. Brother Jim: How many men have had the

  578. Brother Jim: thought, I'm worth more when I'm

  579. Brother Jim: dead?

  580. Brother Jim: At least my families get a big check.

  581. Brother Jim: We're out of debt.

  582. Brother Jim: They can be happy.

  583. Brother Jim: How many fathers?

  584. Brother Jim: And I don't know how many men.

  585. Brother Jim: You'll get an actual answer from a truthful answer.

  586. Brother Jim: But I've thought that I'm worth more dead than alive.

  587. Brother Jim: That's a sad statement, isn't it?

  588. Brother Jim: But let me tell you something.

  589. Brother Jim: It's true.

  590. Brother Jim: But every one of those things I just mentioned is a lie that

  591. Brother Jim: collapses before God's truth.

  592. Brother Jim: So church, what does God really want from a father?

  593. Brother Jim: God wants a father who loves their wives.

  594. Brother Jim: A father who leads with

  595. Brother Jim: humility, a father who protects

  596. Brother Jim: their families.

  597. Brother Jim: A father who will teach the word and nothing but the word.

  598. Brother Jim: A father who models forgiveness.

  599. Brother Jim: A father who will serve and sacrifice.

  600. Brother Jim: A father who will walk faithfully, and a father who

  601. Brother Jim: will finish well.

  602. Brother Jim: A father who does not give up.

  603. Brother Jim: This morning, maybe, just maybe,

  604. Brother Jim: some fathers, men who are

  605. Brother Jim: sitting here in this sanctuary

  606. Brother Jim: thinking I've made too many

  607. Brother Jim: mistakes.

  608. Brother Jim: Brother Jim, guess what?

  609. Brother Jim: So have I and every other father man sitting here today.

  610. Brother Jim: Welcome to the club.

  611. Brother Jim: The Bible is filled with imperfect fathers.

  612. Brother Jim: Yet God redeemed them.

  613. Brother Jim: God restored them, and yes, God used them.

  614. Brother Jim: The cross reminds you and I that

  615. Brother Jim: our failures do not have the

  616. Brother Jim: final word.

  617. Brother Jim: Jesus has.

  618. Brother Jim: Jesus Christ has the final word.

  619. Brother Jim: No matter what your past is, brothers, today can be the

  620. Brother Jim: beginning of a new legacy.

  621. Brother Jim: Men, never underestimate your influence.

  622. Brother Jim: Your family may not remember

  623. Brother Jim: every sermon you preached, but

  624. Brother Jim: your family will remember how

  625. Brother Jim: you lived.

  626. Brother Jim: Men, your family will remember your prayers, your kindness,

  627. Brother Jim: your courage, and yes, even your forgiveness, your integrity,

  628. Brother Jim: your faith, your humility.

  629. Brother Jim: Satan knows the power of a godly father, and that's why Satan

  630. Brother Jim: attacks so fiercely.

  631. Brother Jim: Remember this, brothers and sisters.

  632. Brother Jim: Satan has already been defeated.

  633. Brother Jim: Remember that Satan has already

  634. Brother Jim: been defeated through the death

  635. Brother Jim: and the resurrection of Jesus

  636. Brother Jim: Christ.

  637. Brother Jim: So men, fathers, you stand firm.

  638. Brother Jim: You love deeply, you lead courageously, you pray

  639. Brother Jim: continually, and you finish.

  640. Brother Jim: You finish this journey here on earth faithfully.

  641. Brother Jim: That is a legacy, my friends.

  642. Brother Jim: Men, allow your greatest legacy

  643. Brother Jim: not to be what you leave to your

  644. Brother Jim: children, your four hundred one,

  645. Brother Jim: your life insurance, your tools,

  646. Brother Jim: your guns, your boats, your

  647. Brother Jim: fishing equipment.

  648. Brother Jim: But what you leave in your

  649. Brother Jim: children a living faith in Jesus

  650. Brother Jim: Christ.

  651. Brother Jim: Men, fathers, ask yourself today, am I?

  652. Brother Jim: Is my family closer to Christ because of my example?

  653. Brother Jim: AM I fighting the spiritual battles today that truly matter?

  654. Brother Jim: AM I spending more time building

  655. Brother Jim: my career than building my

  656. Brother Jim: children?

  657. Brother Jim: If Satan were looking for a threat to his kingdom, would my

  658. Brother Jim: life be one?

  659. Brother Jim: Would my life be a threat?

  660. Brother Jim: May God raise up fathers who refuse to surrender, who stand

  661. Brother Jim: on His Word and who leave a legacy of faith that echoes

  662. Brother Jim: through generations to come.

  663. Brother Jim: Fathers, men, I want you to hear me on this.

  664. Brother Jim: You do have meaning.

  665. Brother Jim: You do have value.

  666. Brother Jim: And brothers, you are loved.

  667. Brother Jim: Plus a bonus.

  668. Brother Jim: My men, you are never alone in this battle.

  669. Brother Jim: You've got a lot of good godly men here.

  670. Brother Jim: But most of all, you got Jesus.

  671. Brother Jim: Amen.
