  1. We join together in the worship of God by singing to his praise in Psalm 25 of the Scottish Psalter version.

  2. Psalm 25, find that in the blue book on page 231.

  3. We'll sing there from verse mark 4 down to verse mark 10.

  4. A psalm that speaks of the individual, the psalmist himself, and we can also likewise echo what he says in our call for help as we gather to worship his name.

  5. Show me thy ways, O Lord, thy paths, O teach thou me, and do thou lead me in thy truth, that in it my teacher be.

  6. For thou art God that dost, to me salvation send, and I upon thee all the day expecting to attend.

  7. We'll sing Psalm 25 from verse mark 4 down to the end of verse mark 10 there, when we'll stand to sing.

  8. Show me thy ways, O Lord.

  9. Amen.

  10. Show me thy ways, O Lord.

  11. Thy paths, O teach thou me,

  12. And do thou lead me in thy truth, that in my teacher be.

  13. For thou art God that dost, to me salvation send, and I upon thee all the day expecting you.

  14. Thy tender mercy, O Lord.

  15. Thy tender mercy, O Lord.

  16. Thy tender mercy, O Lord.

  17. I pray thee to remember,

  18. And thy loving kindness is for thee, I'll be noble forever.

  19. My sins and faults of truth,

  20. My sins and faults of truth,

  21. Do thou, O Lord, forget,

  22. After thy mercy, O Lord.

  23. After thy mercy, think on me, And for thy goodness claim.

  24. God good and how bright is The way he'll sin and show,

  25. God good and how bright is The way he'll sin and show,

  26. The way he'll sin and show,

  27. The way he'll sin and show, The way he'll sin and show,

  28. The whole mass of the Lord are truth and mercy sure

  29. To those that do his covenant keep and testimonies due

  30. May we join together in prayer. Let us pray.

  31. Our Father in heaven, it is to you this day that we come

  32. And it is to you that we give thanks. You are one that does not leave us.

  33. You are one who is that loving fatherly figure whom we can call to

  34. And in the distress of our souls you hear our cry

  35. And when we don't know the path to walk upon you show us the way

  36. So as we come and draw near to you

  37. Individually and as a gathered people

  38. May we know the blessing of being here

  39. And may you pour down by the power of your spirit

  40. The riches known in Christ Jesus

  41. And how we can be forgiven of our sins

  42. And that we may walk following his example

  43. A sure path to walk upon

  44. And we pray for each that is gathered here

  45. From the youngest to the oldest

  46. We pray for the young that will go through next door

  47. We pray for those who will be leading them

  48. Bless them as they gather together likewise

  49. That they in their young lives may understand and grasp

  50. The wonder and glory and beauty

  51. Of the man Jesus that died on the cross for them

  52. And following him and his ways, his word and his paths

  53. Will lead them upon sure ground and level ways

  54. And though it may be difficult as we grow older

  55. And it is difficult to hold fast

  56. To the confession that we make in Christ Jesus

  57. You are there to uphold us and sustain us

  58. And so it is in that place we come

  59. Looking for your upholding grace and guidance

  60. As we gather together

  61. To offer our worship to you

  62. May it be acceptable and pleasing in your eyes

  63. And may you bless us as we gather in your name

  64. So be with us we pray

  65. Watch over us and guide us at hearts and minds

  66. In this short time that we meet together

  67. Asking the forgiveness and confession of our sins

  68. In Jesus Christ's name, Amen

  69. Just like to say a short word to the young ones

  70. That are here gathered with us

  71. Before you go through and those who will stay with us

  72. On Friday I was at a wedding at the castle

  73. And we were standing outside

  74. Myself and Fiona

  75. We were waiting for

  76. I think it was the bridesmaids to come out

  77. She was always waiting for the bridesmaids to get ready

  78. And I was driving them

  79. Just to make that clear

  80. And you were standing outside

  81. And Fiona looked up

  82. And she said

  83. I've never noticed that before

  84. Above the front door of the castle

  85. I wonder does anyone know

  86. What is written

  87. There's three words written

  88. Above the door

  89. The main door of the castle

  90. Does any young ones know what it is?

  91. I've seen any hands go up

  92. I didn't know

  93. But when you look above the main porch of the castle

  94. It is there written

  95. In the sandstone

  96. It is heart and hand

  97. That's what's written

  98. Heart and hand

  99. It turns out

  100. That's the motto of James Matheson

  101. The Adams

  102. Don't understand what it means entirely

  103. That's what he had

  104. Heart and hand

  105. And when you think about that

  106. Heart and hand

  107. We love things with our heart

  108. And we do things with our hands

  109. And the things that we love with our heart

  110. Are the things that we do

  111. We love playing football

  112. And that's what we do

  113. We use our feet

  114. Don't use our hands for football

  115. If you're playing games

  116. You might love playing different games

  117. And that's what you do

  118. You use your hands

  119. To play different games

  120. But you're standing there

  121. And you think

  122. Well

  123. I wonder

  124. Why that man

  125. Put that there

  126. He built that great castle

  127. And he put

  128. Heart and hand

  129. Above the front door

  130. I was thinking

  131. Well it's usually kings

  132. That live in castles

  133. It wasn't a king that lived in that castle

  134. But usually it is kings

  135. That live in castles

  136. And the greatest king that ever lived

  137. Had a heart and hand

  138. To do

  139. And his heart

  140. And great love

  141. That he had

  142. Was for his people

  143. And that great love

  144. And that great heart

  145. That he had for his people

  146. Meant that he came

  147. And he did

  148. Something great

  149. For all of the people

  150. That he had

  151. A love for

  152. And what Christ's

  153. Greatest love

  154. And the greatest display

  155. Of his heart

  156. Towards the people

  157. That he loved

  158. Was that he died

  159. On the cross

  160. Jesus

  161. Our king

  162. Has a heart

  163. Has a heart

  164. Of love

  165. And that he

  166. Brought himself

  167. To do

  168. The greatest

  169. Display

  170. Of love

  171. That any man

  172. Can do

  173. John 15

  174. Is a verse

  175. That says

  176. No greater love

  177. Has anyone

  178. That he would

  179. Die for them

  180. Or give his life

  181. For them

  182. Jesus

  183. Is a man

  184. That has

  185. That great

  186. Love

  187. For each of us

  188. Every single one of us

  189. And he is

  190. Our king

  191. And he

  192. Has a heart

  193. And hand

  194. To do

  195. Abundantly

  196. Good

  197. And loving

  198. Things

  199. For us

  200. So when you go to the castle

  201. Next time

  202. Above the porch

  203. Look right up

  204. It's right above

  205. On the wall

  206. High up

  207. It's his heart

  208. And hand

  209. And remember

  210. The heart

  211. That Jesus Christ

  212. Has for you

  213. And what he

  214. Did

  215. Because of that

  216. Great love

  217. That he has

  218. May that be

  219. Blessed to you

  220. Let us say

  221. The Lord's prayer

  222. Together

  223. Our Father

  224. Which art in heaven

  225. Hallowed

  226. Be thy name

  227. Thy kingdom

  228. Come

  229. Thy will be done

  230. On earth

  231. As it is in heaven

  232. Give us this day

  233. Our daily bread

  234. And forgive us

  235. Our debts

  236. As we forgive

  237. Our debtors

  238. And lead us not

  239. Into temptation

  240. But deliver us

  241. From evil

  242. For thine

  243. Is your kingdom

  244. The power

  245. And the glory

  246. Forever

  247. Amen

  248. Well thank you all

  249. For listening

  250. Now we'll continue

  251. In our praise

  252. Of God

  253. By singing

  254. In Psalm

  255. 145

  256. Of the Scottish

  257. Psalter version

  258. Again

  259. Psalm 145

  260. The first version

  261. You'll find that

  262. On page 442

  263. Of the blue book

  264. Page 442

  265. At the very bottom

  266. Of that page

  267. Verse mark 8

  268. Psalm 145

  269. Verse mark 8

  270. The Lord is very gracious

  271. In whom

  272. Compassions flow

  273. In mercy

  274. He is very great

  275. And is to anger

  276. Slow

  277. The Lord

  278. Jehovah

  279. Unto all

  280. His goodness

  281. Doth declare

  282. And over all

  283. His other works

  284. His tender

  285. Mercies are

  286. We'll sing

  287. Down to verse

  288. Mark 14

  289. Thy kingdom

  290. Shall forever

  291. Stand

  292. Thy reign

  293. Through ages

  294. All

  295. God raises

  296. All that are

  297. Bowed down

  298. And upholdeth

  299. All that fall

  300. We'll sing

  301. These verses

  302. To God's praise

  303. From verse mark 8

  304. Down to verse mark 14

  305. We'll stand to sing

  306. The Lord

  307. Is very gracious

  308. In whom

  309. Compassions flow

  310. The Lord

  311. Is very gracious

  312. In him

  313. All Compassions flow

  314. In mercy

  315. Is very great

  316. And is to honor

  317. His love

  318. The Lord

  319. Behold

  320. The Lord

  321. Jehovah

  322. Unto all

  323. His goodness

  324. I'll declare

  325. And over all

  326. His other words

  327. His tender

  328. Mercies are

  329. The all

  330. Thy works

  331. Shall praise

  332. O Lord

  333. And in thy

  334. Saints

  335. Shall bless

  336. They shall

  337. Thy kingdom's

  338. Glory show

  339. Thy power

  340. Thy speech

  341. To make

  342. To make

  343. The sons

  344. Of men

  345. To know

  346. His acts

  347. All nightly

  348. And all

  349. His kingdom

  350. And all

  351. His kingdom

  352. Excellent

  353. And all

  354. His majesty

  355. Thy kingdom

  356. Shall

  357. Johns

  358. beaten

  359. John

  360. Try

  361. Wake

  362. language

  363. Hung

  364. wieder

  365. upon earth all, upon.

  366. We'll turn now to the Word of God,

  367. and if we could turn to the Gospel of Matthew.

  368. Gospel of Matthew, chapter 13.

    Matthew 13 chapter mention

  369. And we'll read there from verse Mark 25.

  370. The Gospel of Matthew, chapter 13.

    Matthew 13 chapter mention

  371. I'm reading from verse 25 down to the end of that chapter.

  372. A passage that sets before us a number of parables

  373. that speak about the kingdom of God.

  374. May we hear God's Word.

  375. Verse 24.

  376. He put another parable before them, saying,

  377. The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man

  378. who sowed good seed in his field.

  379. But while his men were sleeping,

  380. the enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat

  381. and went away.

  382. So when the plants came up and bore grain,

  383. then the weeds appeared also.

  384. And the servants of the master of the house

  385. came and said to him,

  386. Master, did you not sow good seed in your field?

  387. How then does it have weeds?

  388. He said to them,

  389. An enemy has done this.

  390. So the servants said to him,

  391. Then do you want us to go and gather them?

  392. But he said, No,

  393. lest in gathering the weeds

  394. you root up the wheat along with them.

  395. Let both grow together until the harvest.

  396. And at harvest time I will tell the reapers,

  397. Gather the weeds first

  398. and bind them in bundles to be burned.

  399. But gather the wheat into my barn.

  400. He put another parable before them saying,

  401. The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed

  402. that a man took and sowed in his field.

  403. It is the smallest of all seeds,

  404. but when it has grown it is larger

  405. than all the garden plants

  406. and becomes a tree

  407. so that the birds of the air

  408. come and make nests in its branches.

  409. He told them another parable,

  410. The kingdom of heaven is like leaven

  411. that a woman took and hid

  412. in three measures of flour

  413. until it was all eleven.

  414. All these things Jesus said

  415. to the crowds in parables.

  416. Indeed, he said nothing to them

  417. without a parable.

  418. This was to fulfill

  419. what was spoken by the prophet.

  420. I will open my mouth in parables.

  421. I will utter what has been hidden

  422. since the foundation of the world.

  423. Then he left the crowds

  424. and went into the house.

  425. And his disciples came with him saying,

  426. Explain to us the parable

  427. of the weeds of the field.

  428. He answered,

  429. The one who sows good seed

  430. is the son of man.

  431. The field is the world

  432. and the good seed

  433. is the children of the kingdom.

  434. The weeds are the sons

  435. of the evil one

  436. and the enemy who sowed them

  437. is the devil.

  438. The harvest is the clothes of the age

  439. and the reapers are the angels.

  440. Just as the weeds are gathered

  441. and burned with fire,

  442. so it will be at the close of the age.

  443. The son of man

  444. will send his angels

  445. and they will gather

  446. out of his kingdom

  447. all causes of sin

  448. and all lawbreakers

  449. and throw them

  450. into the fiery furnace.

  451. In that place

  452. there will be weeping

  453. and gnashing of teeth.

  454. Then the righteous

  455. will shine like the sun

  456. in the kingdom of their father.

  457. He who has ears,

  458. let him hear.

  459. The kingdom of heaven

  460. is like treasure

  461. hidden in a field

  462. which a man found

  463. and covered up.

  464. Then in his joy

  465. he goes and sells

  466. all that he has

  467. and buys in that field.

  468. Again,

  469. the kingdom of heaven

  470. is like a merchant

  471. in search of fine pearls

  472. who on finding one pearl

  473. of great value

  474. went and sold

  475. all that he had

  476. and bought it.

  477. Again,

  478. the kingdom of heaven

  479. is like a net

  480. that was thrown

  481. into the sea

  482. and gathered fish

  483. of every kind.

  484. When it was full

  485. men drew it ashore

  486. and sat down

  487. and sorted the good

  488. into containers

  489. but threw away the bad.

  490. So it will be

  491. at the close of the age.

  492. The angels will come out

  493. and separate the evil

  494. from the righteous

  495. and throw them

  496. into the fiery furnace.

  497. In that place

  498. there will be weeping

  499. and gnashing of teeth.

  500. Have you understood

  501. all these things?

  502. They said to him,

  503. Yes.

  504. And he said to them,

  505. Therefore,

  506. every scribe

  507. who has been trained

  508. for the kingdom of heaven

  509. is like a master

  510. of a house

  511. who brings out

  512. of his treasure

  513. what is new

  514. and what is old.

  515. And when Jesus

  516. had finished these parables

  517. he went away from there

  518. and coming to his hometown

  519. he taught them

  520. in their synagogue

  521. so that they were astonished

  522. and said,

  523. Where did this man

  524. get his wisdom

  525. and these mighty works?

  526. Is not this

  527. the carpenter's son?

  528. Is not this

  529. mother called Mary?

  530. And are not

  531. his brothers

  532. James and Joseph

  533. and Simon and Judas?

  534. And are not

  535. all his sisters with us?

  536. Where then

  537. did this man

  538. get all these things?

  539. And they took

  540. offence at him

  541. but Jesus said to them,

  542. A prophet

  543. is not without honour

  544. except in his hometown

  545. and in his own household.

  546. And he did not

  547. do many mighty works there

  548. because of their unbelief.

  549. Amen.

  550. May the reading of God's word

  551. speak to us

  552. and be blessed to us.

  553. May we draw again

  554. to God in prayer.

  555. Let us pray.

  556. Our Father in heaven,

  557. we give thanks

  558. for the words

  559. that we have read

  560. and words

  561. that portray

  562. the beauty

  563. of your kingdom

  564. of heaven,

  565. the riches of it,

  566. the outworking of it,

  567. but also

  568. set before us

  569. a stark warning

  570. that there will be

  571. a separation

  572. of the kingdoms

  573. and that

  574. there is a place

  575. where we fear

  576. and tremble at.

  577. And Lord,

  578. we pray

  579. that we would hear

  580. and understand

  581. these things

  582. this morning.

  583. That you would speak

  584. to the heart

  585. of everyone

  586. that is gathered here

  587. and everyone

  588. that is listening online.

  589. That your word

  590. would go with power

  591. and a great effect

  592. convincing

  593. and converting

  594. souls that lie

  595. in sin

  596. to see the folly

  597. of their ways

  598. and how

  599. futile and vain

  600. the things

  601. of the world are

  602. and the things

  603. which our heart,

  604. if we are honest,

  605. hold on to.

  606. But we are inclined

  607. to seek after

  608. the riches

  609. of this world.

  610. We are inclined

  611. to love them.

  612. We are inclined

  613. to set our hands

  614. upon them.

  615. But Lord,

  616. set us apart

  617. this morning

  618. as your people.

  619. People

  620. adhere

  621. of the

  622. measurable

  623. riches

  624. of Christ Jesus

  625. and what

  626. the kingdom

  627. that is prepared

  628. for those

  629. that believe

  630. in him.

  631. We pray

  632. and thank you

  633. for what you

  634. have done

  635. for us.

  636. Things that are

  637. inconceivable

  638. in our minds

  639. and understanding

  640. yet such

  641. is revealed

  642. so that we

  643. are not

  644. ignorant

  645. of it.

  646. That we

  647. may set

  648. our hearts

  649. towards you

  650. and draw

  651. near to you

  652. and hold

  653. fast

  654. to you

  655. confessing

  656. our trust

  657. and belief

  658. in all

  659. that Christ

  660. has done

  661. for us.

  662. And it is

  663. nothing of

  664. ourselves

  665. that we

  666. bring

  667. but it is

  668. to the

  669. glory of

  670. God

  671. and that

  672. we glorify

  673. God

  674. as we

  675. come

  676. and worship

  677. you.

  678. May your

  679. spirit

  680. be active

  681. amongst us

  682. as the wind

  683. that pathes

  684. over the land

  685. and we see

  686. the trees

  687. blow.

  688. May it

  689. have the

  690. effect in our

  691. hearts

  692. that sways

  693. us towards

  694. you and

  695. inclines us

  696. in your

  697. direction

  698. and paths

  699. that should be

  700. followed that

  701. are sure

  702. and steady.

  703. Lord,

  704. we pray

  705. that your

  706. spirit would

  707. come with

  708. power today

  709. in the

  710. gatherings of

  711. your people

  712. and across

  713. our nation

  714. and the

  715. proclamation

  716. of your word

  717. may be

  718. faithful

  719. by your

  720. servants

  721. to reveal

  722. treasures of

  723. old and

  724. treasures that

  725. are new

  726. and reveal

  727. the kingdom

  728. of heaven

  729. that has

  730. been prepared

  731. for the

  732. people.

  733. May we

  734. seek after

  735. this kingdom

  736. the riches

  737. of it

  738. to be a

  739. part of

  740. it

  741. that we

  742. would be

  743. welcomed

  744. into it

  745. we would

  746. respond

  747. to the

  748. call

  749. that is

  750. set before

  751. each of us

  752. this morning

  753. to come

  754. unto Christ

  755. to set

  756. aside

  757. the loves

  758. and the

  759. desires

  760. of our

  761. heart

  762. to forsake

  763. all other

  764. loves

  765. and cling

  766. to him

  767. we pray

  768. that the

  769. beauty of

  770. Christ

  771. would be

  772. revealed

  773. across our

  774. nation

  775. and that

  776. we as a

  777. nation

  778. would not

  779. leave

  780. this great

  781. treasure

  782. forgotten

  783. but that

  784. we would

  785. uplift it

  786. and elevate

  787. it and

  788. share in

  789. its riches

  790. those that

  791. seek and

  792. find joy

  793. in it

  794. and others

  795. can likewise

  796. do so

  797. we pray

  798. for our

  799. nation

  800. and we pray

  801. for those

  802. who rule

  803. us and

  804. govern us

  805. that they

  806. may seek

  807. after your

  808. wisdom

  809. and that

  810. they may

  811. read your

  812. word

  813. and come

  814. under the

  815. means of

  816. your grace

  817. and may

  818. know the

  819. grace

  820. and love

  821. of the

  822. Lord Jesus

  823. Christ

  824. and that

  825. they would

  826. be people

  827. to lead

  828. us in

  829. your ways

  830. and direct

  831. us in

  832. your paths

  833. as they

  834. themselves

  835. look unto

  836. you and

  837. keep their

  838. focus upon

  839. Christ

  840. we pray

  841. and ask

  842. these things

  843. and it

  844. seems such

  845. a great

  846. ask

  847. but you

  848. are a

  849. great God

  850. who answers

  851. people's

  852. prayer

  853. may we

  854. as a

  855. people

  856. pray

  857. great

  858. things

  859. holding

  860. with great

  861. expectation

  862. that you

  863. can do

  864. them

  865. faithfully

  866. holding

  867. on to

  868. your

  869. promises

  870. faithfully

  871. holding

  872. on to

  873. your

  874. kingdom

  875. Lord we

  876. pray this

  877. day

  878. for those

  879. those who

  880. are in

  881. turmoil

  882. of heart

  883. those

  884. who are

  885. uncertain

  886. of what

  887. lies ahead

  888. the hearts

  889. of many

  890. gathered even

  891. in this

  892. building and

  893. listening online

  894. so vast

  895. they are

  896. but you

  897. know every

  898. one of

  899. them

  900. you know

  901. the hairs

  902. upon their

  903. heads

  904. and we

  905. ask that you

  906. would meet

  907. us at our

  908. needs

  909. that we

  910. would come

  911. to you

  912. us that

  913. fatherly

  914. figure who

  915. knows what

  916. is best

  917. for us

  918. confessing

  919. the cries

  920. of our

  921. hearts

  922. and the

  923. groanings

  924. of our

  925. own

  926. spirit

  927. we pray

  928. that you

  929. would be

  930. an aid

  931. and a

  932. strength

  933. to those

  934. who are

  935. in need

  936. those

  937. who are

  938. laid

  939. aside

  940. those

  941. who do

  942. not have

  943. strength

  944. of body

  945. we pray

  946. that you

  947. would give

  948. them strength

  949. of mind

  950. and soul

  951. pray for

  952. those that

  953. look after

  954. them

  955. pray for

  956. those also

  957. who are

  958. mourning the

  959. loss of

  960. loved ones

  961. we pray

  962. that you

  963. would be

  964. their comfort

  965. and guide

  966. pray the

  967. memory of

  968. those who

  969. they have

  970. lost

  971. be blessed

  972. to them

  973. and that

  974. the memories

  975. that do not

  976. part from

  977. us

  978. but leave

  979. scars in

  980. our hearts

  981. bind them

  982. in your

  983. love we

  984. pray and

  985. uphold them

  986. by your

  987. hands

  988. we just

  989. ask that

  990. you would

  991. bless

  992. the works

  993. of our

  994. church

  995. and all

  996. that we

  997. do

  998. here

  999. locally

  1000. and

  1001. in our

  1002. nation

  1003. we pray

  1004. that you

  1005. would bless

  1006. every effort

  1007. that we put

  1008. our hands

  1009. to

  1010. that it

  1011. would be

  1012. for your

  1013. glory

  1014. we remember

  1015. the work

  1016. of the

  1017. camps

  1018. we pray

  1019. your special

  1020. blessing

  1021. upon them

  1022. and the

  1023. young that

  1024. gather

  1025. they

  1026. that they

  1027. may

  1028. leave

  1029. that place

  1030. that has

  1031. been set

  1032. aside

  1033. and see

  1034. what it

  1035. means to

  1036. be a

  1037. Christian

  1038. what it

  1039. means to

  1040. trust in

  1041. Christ

  1042. what it

  1043. means to

  1044. follow your

  1045. path

  1046. to go in

  1047. your ways

  1048. we pray

  1049. for the

  1050. young of

  1051. our

  1052. nation

  1053. and so

  1054. we just

  1055. ask as we

  1056. gather here

  1057. in your

  1058. name

  1059. that you

  1060. would be

  1061. pleased to

  1062. bless us

  1063. speak to

  1064. us we

  1065. pray

  1066. open our

  1067. eyes to

  1068. see

  1069. the ears

  1070. so we

  1071. may

  1072. understand

  1073. set our

  1074. minds upon

  1075. your word

  1076. without

  1077. distraction

  1078. keep the

  1079. evil one

  1080. from us

  1081. keep the

  1082. evil one

  1083. from the

  1084. seeds

  1085. sprouting

  1086. within

  1087. our

  1088. hearts

  1089. and yet

  1090. just

  1091. ask

  1092. and come

  1093. to you

  1094. confessing

  1095. all our

  1096. sins

  1097. and our

  1098. knowledge

  1099. that we

  1100. have drawn

  1101. away from

  1102. you so

  1103. often in

  1104. our lives

  1105. that you

  1106. are so

  1107. kind and

  1108. loving to

  1109. welcome and

  1110. to call us

  1111. back and

  1112. to redeem

  1113. us as your

  1114. people so

  1115. be with us

  1116. we pray

  1117. watch over

  1118. us guide

  1119. us and

  1120. keep us

  1121. in Jesus

  1122. name

  1123. amen

  1124. we'll

  1125. continue in

  1126. praise by

  1127. singing in

  1128. psalm 84

  1157. we'll sing

  1158. from verse

  1159. and if we

  1160. could just

  1182. will just

  1183. sing down

  1184. to that

  1185. verse

  1186. there

  1188. let us

  1189. praise god

  1194. how lovely

  1211. lord

  1212. may be

  1213. my

  1215. is

  1216. so

  1217. long

  1218. dim

  1219. and

  1220. he

  1221. gave

  1222. his

  1223. thy

  1224. court

  1225. scurge

  1226. my

  1227. very

  1228. heart

  1229. and

  1230. flesh

  1231. triumph

  1232. some

  1233. yang

  1234. h

  1235. and

1236. The soul who also for herself hath purchased in Thine rest.

1237. In Thine own altar, where she's saved, Thy young ones for favoring.

1238. O Thou Almighty, Lord of hosts, who art my God and King.

1239. If you turn back with me to the passage that we read together in the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 13.

    Matthew 13 chapter mention

1240. And here in this passage is set before us images that explain and show forth the kingdom of heaven.

1241. And we don't have time to dwell on the whole passage or every image that is set here.

1242. So what I would like to do is take the smaller of these images and set aside the parable of the weeds,

1243. if it is titled such in your Bible.

1244. We'll take the mustard seeds and the leaven.

1245. We'll take the treasure and the pearl.

1246. And we'll take the parable of the net.

1247. And we'll put these together, these five short Bible similes that show us what the kingdom of heaven is like.

1248. And now if you are there listening to Jesus speaking these words,

1249. I'm sure we'd all be excited to hear what he was going to say when he said the kingdom of heaven is like.

1250. But we're not presented for the image as we might expect.

1251. He does not describe a place.

1252. When we describe for someone as some place as like,

1253. if you were to describe this church, you'd say, well, it's full.

  1254. It's got wooden pews.

  1255. It's got a red carpet.

1256. It's got blue walls and a pink ceiling.

1257. And you may not quite have the image that is before you.

1258. But the images that is presented by Christ here, they're kind of obscure.

1259. They don't tell us really what the kingdom of heaven is like as a place.

1260. It's not John's revelations that we have before us.

1261. And yet it is an interesting point that we ask, well, why has he not explained it like that?

1262. Why has he not explained the kingdom of heaven as a place?

1263. It seems like there's more to it.

1264. Does he mean, well, what does he mean when he speaks of the kingdom of heaven?

1265. Initially we think, well, it's heaven in the heavenly realm.

1266. But is it that or is it something else?

1267. Funnily enough, when you read through these things, we get very little of what heaven is like as a place.

1268. And we actually hear more of what hell is like as a place.

1269. But as we look at these few parables and we put them together,

1270. we must primarily keep in mind that they are all representing the kingdom of heaven.

1271. What does a kingdom consist of in its most basic form?

1272. Well, usually you have a king or a royal seat, a leader as such.

1273. And the kingdom is of a certain territory, a certain area.

1274. It is a place where the king sets out certain rules, certain ways in which the people are to live.

1275. But the essence of the kingdom really is the people.

1276. The people are the strength of the kingdom.

1277. The people who abide by the rules of the king are the completing of the kingdom.

1278. The kingdom of heaven has Christ as its king.

1279. And these parables reveal the outworking of that kingdom.

1280. And the coming of that kingdom, as we pray together in the Lord's Prayer.

  1281. Thy kingdom come.

1282. The kingdom of heaven, then, is there not a descriptive sense of what the place is like.

1283. But how this kingdom is outworked and the privileges that contribute to the gathering of the people of this kingdom.

1284. That great effect that the gospel has upon the people.

1285. And the spiritual outworking of that effect of the people that are set aside to be gathered into the kingdom of heaven.

1286. By the work of the gospel.

1287. And the effectual application of that Holy Spirit.

1288. You see, the kingdom of heaven, it has a king.

  1289. We said that.

  1290. It has king.

  1291. Christ is its king.

1292. It has a kingly order.

1293. And means by which the king sets out for the people to live by.

1294. We have that in the word of God.

1295. And there is a place set aside that the king has set aside for the people.

1296. All these things are in place already.

1297. It is just the people that need to be gathered into the kingdom of heaven.

1298. All those who are Christ's are the kings.

1299. The Christian is a son of the king.

1300. And a partaker of that kingdom of heaven.

1301. Each of us are receivers of the kingdom of heaven.

1302. If we believe and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.

1303. And it is hard to get our head around these things.

1304. And hard to grasp these things.

1305. But we have before us these images.

1306. That likens it to something else.

1307. That aids our understanding of it.

1308. And we'll fittingly pair them together.

  1309. Although we have five.

1310. The last one, the parable of the net.

1311. There are really two divisions in it.

1312. A parable of the mustard seed.

  1313. And the leaven.

  1314. Can be paired together.

1315. To give us a title of two sizes.

1316. And the following images of the treasure and the pearl.

1317. Sets before us two treasures.

1318. And finally the parable of the net.

1319. Sets before us two gatherings.

1320. Or two separations that are made.

1321. So we have here set before us.

1322. As the kingdom of heaven.

  1323. Two sizes.

  1324. Two treasures.

  1325. And two gatherings.

1326. So we begin with the two sizes.

1327. We look at the grain.

1328. The grain of mustard seed.

  1329. And the leaven.

1330. If you look at that section there.

  1331. From verse 31.

1332. These two pictures present a great contrast.

  1333. And a great impact.

1334. That this kingdom will make.

1335. The mustard seed was a fairly small seed.

1336. About one or two millimeters.

1337. And it would grow into this tree.

1338. That I believe would grow to three or four meters.

1339. As the small quantity of leaven.

1340. That we worked into the dough.

  1341. Would have the significance.

1342. Of impacting the whole amount.

  1343. And change and convert.

1344. The dough in its entirety.

  1345. The seed.

  1346. In the first instance.

1347. Is so small and insignificant.

1348. That it could be dismissed.

  1349. As invaluable.

1350. If you did not know.

  1351. What it was.

1352. Something that could be easily rejected.

  1353. But the seed.

  1354. In its nature.

  1355. Is something.

  1356. That grows.

  1357. As is.

  1358. The kingdom.

  1359. The kingdom of heaven.

  1360. And it becomes.

  1361. The greatest.

  1362. Within the whole.

  1363. Garden.

  1364. The kingdom of heaven.

  1365. Becomes the greatest kingdom.

  1366. That we could know.

1367. And becomes that safe refuge.

1368. Where the birds of the air.

  1369. Take home.

  1370. In its branches.

  1371. As we sung.

  1372. There in Psalm 40.

  1373. Of the bird.

  1374. That rests.

  1375. In the security.

  1376. Of the dwelling place.

  1377. Of the kingdom.

  1378. Such is the kingdom.

  1379. Of heaven.

  1380. In some man's eyes.

1381. That it is so small.

  1382. And insignificant.

  1383. The person of Christ.

  1384. The word of God.

  1385. So despised.

  1386. By many.

  1387. And rejected.

  1388. As being worthless.

1389. And has been trampled upon.

  1390. Throughout the ages.

  1391. And yet.

1392. The seed of the gospel.

  1393. Is a seed.

  1394. Which by its nature.

  1395. Grows.

  1396. Many have viewed it.

  1397. As insignificant.

  1398. Even those.

  1399. In whom that seed.

  1400. Has been planted.

  1401. And the growth.

  1402. That comes with.

  1403. The strength.

  1404. Of that kinder.

  1405. What is weak.

  1406. Before men.

  1407. Is strong.

1408. And some of the most unlikely.

  1409. Seeds.

  1410. Have sprouted.

  1411. In lives.

  1412. The gospel.

  1413. Has taken root.

  1414. The kingdom.

  1415. Of heaven.

  1416. Has welcomed.

  1417. The most.

  1418. Surprising.

  1419. People.

  1420. In our eyes.

  1421. But they are great.

  1422. In God's eyes.

  1423. And also.

  1424. When we speak.

  1425. Of Christ.

  1426. He was a stone.

  1427. That was rejected.

  1428. By men.

  1429. But he has become.

  1430. The corner stone.

  1431. Christ.

  1432. Christ.

  1433. When he lived.

1434. Was seen as such an insignificant.

  1435. Man.

  1436. Such an insignificant.

  1437. Seed.

  1438. But from that.

  1439. Seed.

  1440. And the apostles.

  1441. The few.

  1442. The little.

  1443. The weak.

  1444. That went out.

  1445. A great kingdom.

  1446. Has come.

  1447. A great kingdom.

  1448. That is secure.

  1449. A great kingdom.

  1450. That we ourselves.

  1451. Have come.

  1452. To rest in.

  1453. That seed.

  1454. That was.

  1455. Ready.

  1456. Christ.

  1457. That people.

  1458. Were ready.

1459. To throw on the rubbish heap.

  1460. When he was crucified.

  1461. Two men.

  1462. Took that.

  1463. Body.

  1464. And it's as if.

  1465. They planted it.

  1466. That seed.

  1467. And that.

  1468. Seed.

  1469. The most amazing.

  1470. And greatest.

  1471. Of all.

  1472. Seeds.

1473. That could ever be planted.

  1474. That kingdom.

  1475. That has come.

  1476. From.

  1477. Christ.

  1478. Also.

  1479. Despised.

  1480. By men.

  1481. Has become.

  1482. The greatest.

  1483. Of all.

  1484. Kingdoms.

  1485. Likewise.

  1486. The leaven.

  1487. The woman.

  1488. Took her leaven.

  1489. And hides it.

  1490. In great quantity.

  1491. Of flour.

  1492. And dough.

  1493. Until the whole.

  1494. Mixture.

  1495. Is leavened.

  1496. And the quantity.

  1497. Is said.

  1498. To be here.

  1499. Enough bread.

  1500. To feed.

  1501. A hundred people.

  1502. The three measure.

  1503. It's an abundant.

  1504. Amount.

  1505. Of dough.

  1506. And the sour dough.

  1507. The leaven.

  1508. I believe.

  1509. They would keep.

  1510. Keep it aside.

  1511. And they would tear.

  1512. A bit of it.

  1513. And mix it in.

  1514. With the dough.

  1515. I'm not.

  1516. A hundred percent.

  1517. Sure on it.

1518. But they would mix it in.

  1519. With the dough.

  1520. And thus.

  1521. That fermented flour.

  1522. Would work.

  1523. Silently.

  1524. Throughout the whole dough.

  1525. Changing it into.

  1526. A dough.

  1527. That would rise.

  1528. Into bread.

  1529. When baked.

  1530. It gives us.

  1531. An image.

  1532. Of something.

  1533. Silent.

  1534. Working.

  1535. Underneath the skin.

  1536. An unstoppable.

  1537. Food.

  1538. That converts.

  1539. The whole mixture.

  1540. The kingdom of God.

1541. Works in such a way.

  1542. To grow.

  1543. To change.

  1544. In size.

  1545. To gather.

  1546. The people.

  1547. To draw them in.

  1548. And change.

  1549. And even.

  1550. To change.

  1551. Ourselves.

  1552. The dough.

  1553. The fleaven.

  1554. That is.

  1555. Mixed in.

  1556. With our heart.

  1557. Changes us.

  1558. Slowly.

  1559. And works.

  1560. Within us.

  1561. That kingdom.

  1562. To filter.

  1563. Into.

  1564. Into.

  1565. Every.

  1566. Every.

  1567. Extremity.

  1568. Of our lives.

  1569. That we may.

  1570. Reflect.

  1571. His.

  1572. Glory.

  1573. It is.

  1574. In each of us.

  1575. But.

  1576. Who is it.

  1577. That needs.

  1578. That.

  1579. Into.

  1580. Our hearts.

  1581. It's as if.

  1582. Christ's hands.

  1583. Are needing it.

  1584. Into.

  1585. Our being.

  1586. And into.

  1587. The church.

  1588. You could extend.

  1589. That.

  1590. That.

  1591. That.

  1592. That.

  1593. That.

  1594. That.

  1595. From ourselves.

  1596. Into the church.

  1597. And the strength.

  1598. Of that.

  1599. Kingdom.

  1600. Has been mixed in.

  1601. And needed in.

  1602. And the needing.

  1603. May.

  1604. Unsettle us.

  1605. In our lives.

  1606. The uncertainty.

  1607. Of our lives.

  1608. As Christ.

  1609. Outworks.

  1610. That kingdom.

  1611. In it.

  1612. We're left.

  1613. Confused.

  1614. Of.

  1615. Why.

  1616. He does.

  1617. Such a thing.

  1618. And why.

  1619. He outworks it.

  1620. In such a manner.

  1621. But it is so.

  1622. That the whole.

  1623. Of us.

  1624. And the whole.

  1625. Of the church.

  1626. Will be affected.

  1627. By the strength.

  1628. Of that kingdom.

  1629. He changes.

  1630. Our whole being.

  1631. He knows best.

  1632. He is the loving.

  1633. Father.

  1634. And we have comfort.

  1635. In the uncertainties.

  1636. Of life.

  1637. And the things.

  1638. That turn us.

  1639. Upside down.

1640. That it is the hands.

  1641. Of God.

  1642. That are doing it.

  1643. And it will.

  1644. Come.

  1645. To be the greatest.

  1646. Of all things.

  1647. So let us turn.

  1648. To the two.

  1649. Treasures.

  1650. From verse 44.

  1651. To 46.

  1652. We have two treasures.

  1653. Set before us there.

1654. Treasures that are of immense value.

  1655. Treasures.

  1656. That have been found.

  1657. And sought out.

  1658. The man who dug.

  1659. The field.

1660. Seems to give the impression.

1661. That he stumbles across it.

1662. So it was common then.

  1663. To bury your treasure.

  1664. There was no banks.

  1665. To store your valuables.

  1666. And it has become.

  1667. A forgotten treasure.

1668. By the one who buried it.

  1669. The man who dug.

  1670. Seems to be surprised.

  1671. By its find.

  1672. And what a find.

  1673. He instantly.

  1674. He recognizes.

  1675. The value.

  1676. Of this treasure.

  1677. He knows.

  1678. What it is.

  1679. And so.

  1680. Sets himself.

  1681. To sell everything.

  1682. That he has.

1683. In order to gain it.

1684. And only by the purchase.

  1685. Of the field.

  1686. Can he attain.

  1687. The treasure.

1688. And say that the treasure.

  1689. Is hers.

  1690. Of everything.

  1691. That he gave.

  1692. It is incomparable.

  1693. To the treasure.

  1694. That is set before.

1695. Such is the kingdom of heaven.

1696. He is full of joy.

  1697. At his find.

1698. And by the eternal providence.

  1699. Of God.

  1700. Some stumble.

  1701. Across it.

  1702. By surprise.

1703. The power of the gospel.

  1704. Is revealed to men.

  1705. And women.

  1706. By surprise.

  1707. Surprise.

  1708. And they realize it.

  1709. And they grasp it.

  1710. And they say.

1711. How was I not told this before?

  1712. And they become receivers.

  1713. Of the greatest riches.

  1714. And treasures.

  1715. That they have.

  1716. In knowledge.

  1717. Righteousness.

  1718. Wisdom.

  1719. Peace.

  1720. And joy.

  1721. The gospel is.

  1722. The revealed.

  1723. Spiritual.

  1724. Treasure.

  1725. And people.

  1726. Who see it.

  1727. And know it.

  1728. And understand it.

  1729. Are possessed.

  1730. The treasures.

  1731. Of great things.

  1732. Supposing.

  1733. They forsake.

  1734. All other treasures.

  1735. That they have.

  1736. Some.

  1737. It is true.

1738. It is revealed to them.

1739. And it is a surprise.

  1740. To them.

  1741. That the gospel.

  1742. Is such.

  1743. But to others.

  1744. They seek it out.

  1745. With diligence.

1746. And it is much like.

  1747. The man.

  1748. The pearl.

  1749. The merchant.

  1750. Who found.

  1751. That pearl.

  1752. He worked.

  1753. With pearls.

  1754. He knew.

  1755. The value.

  1756. Of the pearls.

  1757. He had a treasure.

  1758. He knew.

  1759. The treasure.

  1760. Of them.

  1761. But there comes.

  1762. To him.

  1763. One.

  1764. Immeasurable.

  1765. One.

  1766. Greater.

  1767. One.

  1768. That he forsakes.

  1769. All other pearls.

  1770. In order.

  1771. To gain it.

  1772. And I suppose.

  1773. We could say.

  1774. That it is like.

  1775. The man.

  1776. Who wants.

  1777. To live.

  1778. To live.

  1779. His life.

  1780. Well.

  1781. And has a multiple.

  1782. Of good qualities.

  1783. And good pearls.

  1784. In his life.

1785. And while they may be.

  1786. Admired by others.

1787. And all that he has done.

1788. And all that he has gained.

1789. And all that he has worked for.

  1790. He is always dealing.

  1791. Back and forth.

  1792. With these qualities.

  1793. To find his satisfaction.

  1794. But never quite.

  1795. Gains it.

  1796. Until.

  1797. He understands.

  1798. The gospel.

  1799. Until the kingdom.

  1800. Of heaven.

  1801. Is set before him.

1802. And then all his desires.

  1803. Are met.

  1804. In this kingdom.

  1805. Are met.

  1806. In Christ Jesus.

  1807. Like the man.

  1808. That we found.

  1809. This great pearl.

  1810. Casts aside.

  1811. All other treasures.

  1812. As worthless.

  1813. To invest.

  1814. In this one pearl.

  1815. And in this.

  1816. He invests.

1817. This is the great treasure.

  1818. Set before him.

  1819. He knows.

  1820. It's value.

  1821. He understands.

  1822. What is set.

  1823. Before.

  1824. He knows.

  1825. There's no other pearl.

  1826. Like the kingdom.

  1827. Of heaven.

  1828. Do we.

  1829. Understand that.

  1830. Do we.

  1831. Have our.

  1832. Desires.

  1833. Satisfied.

  1834. Like what is set.

  1835. Before us.

  1836. In the kingdom.

  1837. Of heaven.

  1838. The man.

  1839. Would have secured.

  1840. His inheritance.

  1841. Selling all.

  1842. That he had.

  1843. And placed it all.

  1844. In this pearl.

  1845. Are we.

  1846. Such people.

  1847. That forsake.

  1848. All worldly.

  1849. Inheritances.

  1850. To receive.

  1851. The kingdom.

  1852. Of God.

  1853. What would it mean.

  1854. For you.

  1855. To set.

  1856. To sell everything.

  1857. To gain.

  1858. Christ.

  1859. If you added up.

  1860. The treasures.

  1861. And accumulation.

  1862. Of your life.

  1863. What value.

  1864. Does it come to.

  1865. Is it enough.

  1866. To sell.

  1867. To forsake.

  1868. The riches.

  1869. Of this world.

  1870. To receive.

  1871. The heavenly.

  1872. Kingdom.

  1873. Does the kingdom.

  1874. Of heaven.

  1875. Have such a value.

  1876. To you.

  1877. More than these things.

  1878. And it's not really.

  1879. As to us.

  1880. To sell everything.

  1881. That we have.

  1882. In measure.

  1883. In measure.

  1884. I suppose.

  1885. It does.

  1886. But not.

  1887. Entirely.

  1888. Everything.

  1889. Physically.

  1890. Materially.

1891. It asks for that heart.

  1892. Of first place.

1893. And that if we have.

  1894. That heart.

  1895. That forsakes all other.

  1896. Loves.

  1897. And treasures.

  1898. That our heart.

  1899. Inclines itself to.

  1900. In this world.

1901. And we place our hearts.

  1902. And our lives.

  1903. Entirely.

  1904. Upon what is set.

  1905. Before you.

1906. In the kingdom of heaven.

  1907. What Christ.

  1908. Has done.

  1909. For you.

  1910. It is that image.

  1911. Of the heart.

  1912. And the hand.

  1913. That I said.

  1914. To the kids.

  1915. That at heart.

  1916. Knows.

  1917. And understands.

  1918. This love.

  1919. Forsaking.

  1920. All other loves.

  1921. And the resulting.

  1922. Thing.

  1923. Is that at hand.

  1924. Is set to do.

  1925. And react.

  1926. To how that.

  1927. Love.

  1928. Is implanted.

  1929. In our hearts.

  1930. So the man here.

  1931. Who knows.

  1932. And loves.

  1933. This pearl.

  1934. Forsakes all.

  1935. To gain.

  1936. What he has.

  1937. The two treasures.

1938. Let us look at the two.

  1939. Gatherings.

  1940. Very briefly.

  1941. In the night.

1942. The parable of the night.

  1943. Sets before us.

  1944. A kingdom.

  1945. That gathers.

  1946. A kingdom.

  1947. That sifts.

  1948. All that is good.

1949. And all that is bad.

  1950. And it is.

  1951. A simple picture.

  1952. Maybe simpler.

  1953. And more common.

  1954. To many of you.

  1955. Who are fishermen.

  1956. You keep.

  1957. What is worth.

  1958. And you throw away.

  1959. What is worthless.

  1960. And it is compared.

  1961. To the gathering.

  1962. Of the church.

  1963. And to the gathering.

  1964. Of eternity.

  1965. And the judgment.

  1966. Ultimately.

  1967. Of all men.

  1968. The good.

  1969. Are safe.

  1970. And the evil.

  1971. Are cast aside.

  1972. And it really needs.

  1973. Little of my explanation.

  1974. To set before you.

  1975. What the kingdom.

  1976. Of heaven means.

  1977. There are.

  1978. Two gatherings.

  1979. In this parable.

  1980. You can see.

  1981. That like a net.

  1982. It was thrown out.

  1983. Into the sea.

  1984. And gathered.

  1985. The fish.

  1986. Of every kind.

1987. And while it was full.

1988. The men drew it ashore.

  1989. And sat down.

  1990. And sorted it.

  1991. Into containers.

  1992. But threw away.

  1993. The bad.

  1994. There is first.

  1995. The gathering.

1996. Of all that was in the sea.

  1997. And then.

  1998. The gathering.

  1999. Of the good.

  2000. Likewise.

  2001. There are separations.

  2002. Equally represented.

  2003. By each.

  2004. The first.

  2005. The net.

  2006. Into the sea.

  2007. It's like the gathering.

  2008. Of the.

  2009. People of God.

  2010. The gathering.

  2011. Of this worldly.

  2012. Church.

  2013. Church.

  2014. And it is.

  2015. The kingdom.

  2016. The king's.

  2017. Call.

  2018. To everyone.

  2019. Today.

  2020. Christ's.

  2021. Call.

  2022. To each of us.

  2023. To come.

  2024. Into.

  2025. The body.

  2026. Of the church.

  2027. To understand.

  2028. And to gain.

  2029. Understanding.

  2030. To grow.

  2031. In wisdom.

  2032. Knowledge.

  2033. Righteousness.

  2034. Peace.

  2035. And joy.

2036. But there is a second.

  2037. That.

  2038. That gathering.

  2039. Is made of.

  2040. So many.

  2041. Varied.

  2042. Fish.

  2043. Varied.

  2044. People.

  2045. And there are such.

  2046. Amongst it.

  2047. That have used.

  2048. The church.

  2049. For their own.

  2050. Satisfactions.

  2051. And gratifying.

  2052. The evils.

  2053. Of their hearts.

  2054. Though they are.

  2055. Within the body.

  2056. But they will be.

  2057. Separated.

  2058. The good.

  2059. Will be gathered.

  2060. The evil.

  2061. Will be gathered.

  2062. Together.

2063. And it is the divine hands.

  2064. That will sift.

  2065. Such.

  2066. The good.

  2067. And the bad.

  2068. To bring.

  2069. Into completion.

  2070. The kingdom.

  2071. Of heaven.

  2072. To gather.

  2073. The people.

  2074. That has been outworked.

  2075. And ultimately.

  2076. These divine hands.

  2077. At the.

  2078. Close of time.

  2079. Will gather.

  2080. The kingdom.

  2081. Of heaven.

  2082. Together.

  2083. May your kingdom.

  2084. Come.

  2085. The kingdom.

  2086. Of heaven.

  2087. Is set.

  2088. Before you.

  2089. Today.

  2090. Do not.

  2091. Despise it.

  2092. It is.

  2093. Within it.

  2094. The greatest.

  2095. Hope.

  2096. That you can have.

  2097. And the greatest.

  2098. Treasure.

  2099. That you could know.

  2100. And the greatest.

  2101. Security.

  2102. For your life.

  2103. Have you received.

  2104. This kingdom.

2105. Are you part of this kingdom.

  2106. Have you understood.

  2107. What has been set.

  2108. Before you.

  2109. Do you see.

  2110. The value.

  2111. Of the kingdom.

  2112. Of heaven.

  2113. It is.

  2114. To ask ourselves.

  2115. To whom.

  2116. Will we be gathered.

  2117. To where.

  2118. Shall we be gathered.

  2119. From what.

  2120. Shall we be separated.

  2121. From.

2122. Are we with the Lord's people.

2123. Are we in the Lord's place.

  2124. In the Lord's ways.

2125. And under the Lord's command.

  2126. The kingdom of heaven.

  2127. Is at work.

  2128. Today.

  2129. To gather its citizens.

  2130. The small.

  2131. And the weak.

  2132. Shall be great.

  2133. The kingdom of heaven.

  2134. The forgotten.

  2135. Treasure.

  2136. Becomes.

  2137. The greatest.

  2138. The greatest.

  2139. The greatest.

  2140. The greatest.

  2141. The greatest.

2142. To those who know it.

2143. And to those who find it.

2144. And as they find it.

  2145. They receive.

  2146. The greatest.

  2147. Joy.

  2148. In Christ.

  2149. Jesus.

  2150. The kingdom.

  2151. Of heaven.

  2152. It's a kingdom.

  2153. That gathers.

  2154. And separates.

  2155. Under the divine.

  2156. Authority.

  2157. To whom.

  2158. Are we gathered.

  2159. Pray these thoughts.

  2160. Be blessed to us.

  2161. This morning.

  2162. We'll conclude.

  2163. In praise of God.

  2164. By.

  2177. Her citizens abound.

2178. A number shall like to the grass.

2179. That grows upon the ground.

2180. His name forever shall endure.

  2212. Amen.

  2213. Amen.

  2214. So let it be.

2215. Close with a word of prayer.

2216. Our Father in heaven, help us to understand these things that we have set our mind to this morning.

2217. And as we part, we pray your blessing upon us.

2218. That we may be received into the kingdom of heaven.

2219. And know through Christ Jesus the security of such a blessing.

2220. And the immeasurable riches of such a place.

2221. May we set our hearts upon you.

2222. And be changed to our heart.

2223. And the love of Christ Jesus that dwells within the believer.

2224. Be with us as we part.

2225. Go forth and go with us.

2226. Be with us in the service in the evening.
