  1. and the camp and holiday club, I spoke about King Josiah and that young king,

  2. eight-year-old king, the one that reformed Israel,

  3. and he who had found the workers in the temple had found the book of the law,

  4. and they brought it to him, and then he brought it before the people.

  5. And I remember saying that, well, we hope and pray that the young ones that would find and have be shown the Bible,

  6. and that they too would embrace it and understand it and look at it and say,

  7. why are these things not being taught?

  8. And that they would hold it high and regard it as high in their lives

  9. and show forth to others how to live their lives.

  10. And like I was thinking of the influence that children can have in our lives,

  11. the providence that God gives us.

  12. It was amazing to have all these children with us last week,

  13. and how God brought them to that place,

  14. some from church backgrounds, others from unchurched backgrounds.

  15. It was wonderful to have them,

  16. and you can't help but wonder afterwards what influence these children will have when they leave.

  17. And it is important for us to remember to keep praying for these children and the families that they go back to.

  18. And in our two passages tonight,

  19. we meet with two young girls,

  20. two little girls.

  21. We're not entirely sure of their ages.

  22. In Exodus,

  23. we have Moses's sister.

  24. And in second Kings,

  25. we have the slave girl who worked in the house of Naaman.

  26. And each,

  27. we'll take each in turn.

  28. We'll start with Moses's sister.

  29. But before we do this,

  30. there's things that are common between the two of them,

  31. and apply in the same.

  32. Both their situations are far from ideal.

  33. They're far from comfortable.

  34. They're far from good.

  35. One,

  36. Moses's sister,

  37. had her brother cast out into the water,

  38. for fear of him being murdered.

  39. And the other

  40. was captured as a slave to the Syrians from the land of Israel.

  41. But both of them,

  42. notably,

  43. are

  44. Hebrews or

  45. Israelites.

  46. Both within the promises of God,

  47. both God's people.

  48. Whether they realized it or not in their young lives,

  49. they were marked by God and set aside for his purposes.

  50. But in the

  51. childish ways

  52. and the innocence of the child,

  53. they can

  54. bring before us things that are hugely profound.

  55. They reason in ways that we don't seem to reason,

  56. and they can

  57. leave us stumped by the questions they bring to us.

  58. And we can say,

  59. well,

  60. I didn't quite think of it like that.

  61. But it is worth thinking about.

  62. We can be refined

  63. how they think and how they reason.

  64. And the child has an approachability that some others won't.

  65. Even we as adults,

  66. we don't have the same

  67. approachability to,

  68. could be our own families,

  69. or those we come into contact with as a child.

  70. We have a voice that can be heard in a way that

  71. others can't.

  72. Their innocence

  73. can have a huge influence

  74. on the lives of many.

  75. And there are many who can probably voice that sentiment,

  76. that it was their own child

  77. that brought them to Christ,

  78. or made such an influence on them

  79. to bring them to hear more

  80. about the Word of God.

  81. And we see the placement

  82. of these children.

  83. Children who are of

  84. God's,

  85. within the promises,

  86. placed into

  87. hard situations.

  88. And we don't know the situations

  89. that our children go home to.

  90. And we must remember

  91. they may not be as comfortable as ours.

  92. But

  93. we continue to pray for them.

  94. And that they too

  95. are loved by God.

  96. And that they are too

  97. may be within the providence

  98. and found,

  99. providence and promises

  100. of God.

  101. When we think of all the children

  102. who have attended camps this summer,

  103. who attended various holiday clubs,

  104. those who come to

  105. Twini Sunday School,

  106. Creche,

  107. and they're all being taught

  108. about the good news

  109. and the gospel,

  110. what Jesus Christ

  111. has done for them.

  112. However,

  113. or however,

  114. they came,

  115. it is God's purpose

  116. and God's providence

  117. that they all

  118. are there

  119. to hear the gospel

  120. and the good news

  121. of Christ.

  122. and we pray

  123. that they may

  124. may voice

  125. in their innocence

  126. faithfully

  127. the life

  128. and the good news

  129. of Jesus Christ

  130. to others,

  131. maybe in places

  132. that we

  133. can't even

  134. get to.

  135. So first,

  136. we'll consider

  137. Moses'

  138. sister.

  139. Read there

  140. in verse

  141. Mark 7,

  142. Then his sister

  143. said to Pharaoh's daughter,

  144. Shall I go

  145. and call

  146. you a nurse

  147. from the Hebrew woman

  148. to nurse

  149. the child

  150. for you?

  151. That's a remarkable

  152. statement

  153. when we actually

  154. consider it,

  155. which we will do

  156. in a second.

  157. Moses'

  158. big sister,

  159. and we know

  160. when we look at

  161. 1 Chronicles 6,

    1 Chronicles 6:3

  162. verse 3,

  163. it gives us

  164. the family line.

  165. Their father

  166. was Amram

  167. of a Levite,

  168. their mother

  169. was a Levite

  170. as well,

  171. we heard here.

  172. And they had

  173. three children,

  174. Miriam,

  175. Moses,

  176. and Aaron.

  177. So we know

  178. that this girl

  179. is Miriam.

  180. And

  181. we understand

  182. that she is

  183. old enough

  184. to grasp

  185. what is going on.

  186. knowing that

  187. there is a risk

  188. to her

  189. baby brother,

  190. that he must

  191. be hidden,

  192. the family

  193. must hide her

  194. and keep him

  195. safe.

  196. And now

  197. the childlike

  198. innocence,

  199. of maybe not

  200. understanding

  201. everything,

  202. leaves her

  203. watching

  204. this basket,

  205. or leaves

  206. even her

  207. watching her

  208. parents making

  209. the basket,

  210. and winding

  211. the rushes

  212. together,

  213. and

  214. putting

  215. bitumen

  216. and pitch

  217. on the

  218. inside of

  219. it to

  220. protect it.

  221. And then

  222. watching her

  223. parents lay

  224. in this

  225. basket in

  226. the river

  227. amongst the

  228. reeds with

  229. her baby

  230. brother in

  231. it.

  232. And after

  233. that,

  234. the parents

  235. left,

  236. it would

  237. seem.

  238. Possibly it

  239. was that there

  240. would be no

  241. attention drawn

  242. to the site

  243. where they

  244. had left

  245. the baby

  246. Moses.

  247. Maybe they

  248. couldn't

  249. bear to

  250. stay there

  251. and see

  252. what happened.

  253. But the

  254. sister stayed

  255. on and

  256. watched.

  257. She maintained

  258. from afar

  259. an eye upon

  260. the basket

  261. where her

  262. brother was.

  263. And you can

  264. picture the

  265. scene as

  266. she watches

  267. Pharaoh's

  268. daughter and

  269. her,

  270. I don't

  271. name for them,

  272. the ladies

  273. that were

  274. with her,

  275. come walking

  276. along the

  277. riverside.

  278. And you

  279. can imagine

  280. Miriam there

  281. seeing them

  282. coming with

  283. fear.

  284. Because this

  285. would have been

  286. the last

  287. person she

  288. would have

  289. wanted to

  290. come.

  291. Hearing maybe

  292. her brother

  293. crying,

  294. if you picture

  295. the scene.

  296. This is the

  297. worst of

  298. situations.

  299. in her

  300. mind.

  301. Surely

  302. he will

  303. be taken

  304. and killed.

  305. But she

  306. makes a

  307. bold approach

  308. into this

  309. situation.

  310. Situation that

  311. could have so

  312. easily turned

  313. on its head

  314. for her.

  315. She walks

  316. into it.

  317. She says

  318. there that

  319. the Pharaoh's

  320. daughter had

  321. pity when

  322. she saw

  323. the child.

  324. When she

  325. opened it,

  326. she saw

  327. the child

  328. and behold,

  329. the baby

  330. was crying

  331. and she

  332. took pity

  333. on him

  334. there in

  335. verse 6.

  336. And the

  337. baby is

  338. identified

  339. clearly as

  340. one of the

  341. Hebrew

  342. children.

  343. Whether or

  344. not Miriam

  345. realised the

  346. pity she

  347. had,

  348. she surely

  349. sensed it.

  350. And children,

  351. we don't give

  352. them credit

  353. at times

  354. how they

  355. sense

  356. things.

  357. But they

  358. can pick

  359. up on

  360. things like

  361. maybe we

  362. don't.

  363. And they

  364. can trust,

  365. they know

  366. who to

  367. trust and

  368. know who

  369. not to

  370. trust.

  371. And she

  372. knew this

  373. woman had

  374. pity on

  375. her brother.

  376. And she

  377. placed

  378. ignorance to

  379. knowing the

  380. baby.

  381. pity.

  382. And in

  383. the situation

  384. walks in

  385. seeing that

  386. she had

  387. pity and

  388. says,

  389. shall I

  390. go and

  391. call you

  392. a nurse

  393. from the

  394. Hebrew

  395. woman to

  396. nurse the

  397. child for

  398. you?

  399. to say

  400. this to

  401. Pharaoh's

  402. daughter is

  403. quite

  404. remarkable.

  405. But she

  406. went straight

  407. into that

  408. tender

  409. situation

  410. where the

  411. life of

  412. her brother

  413. hanged on

  414. the edge

  415. of a

  416. cord and

  417. said these

  418. things.

  419. That she

  420. would go and

  421. get a

  422. Hebrew

  423. woman from

  424. the Hebrews

  425. whom they

  426. hated,

  427. the Hebrews

  428. whom they

  429. wanted to

  430. reduce a

  431. number.

  432. That she

  433. would go

  434. and get

  435. one of

  436. them.

  437. And likewise

  438. that she

  439. would go

  440. and risk

  441. others

  442. Hebrew

  443. child

  444. given to

  445. her that

  446. you should

  447. be killing.

  448. But how

  449. to come

  450. into this

  451. situation

  452. and say

  453. these things?

  454. It's

  455. unfathomable.

  456. We

  457. wouldn't

  458. say it.

  459. It's just

  460. too far

  461. beyond our

  462. understanding

  463. that no

  464. one would

  465. respond to

  466. it in

  467. such a

  468. way.

  469. We

  470. would maybe

  471. get a

  472. hostile

  473. retaliation

  474. to suggest

  475. to get

  476. a Hebrew

  477. mother to

  478. look after

  479. the Hebrew

  480. child that

  481. should have

  482. been killed.

  483. In a sense

  484. no one else

  485. could have

  486. said it but

  487. a child.

  488. And the

  489. words that

  490. she heard

  491. from the

  492. Pharaoh's

  493. daughter was

  494. go.

  495. So she

  496. went and

  497. she had the

  498. wisdom to

  499. discern that

  500. she could get

  501. her mother

  502. as the

  503. best of

  504. woman to

  505. look after

  506. her brother.

  507. And you

  508. can imagine

  509. the joy

  510. she had

  511. in running

  512. to get

  513. her mother

  514. to come

  515. and nurse

  516. her brother

  517. and her

  518. son.

  519. He was

  520. within moments

  521. of death.

  522. We have

  523. here the

  524. most wonderful

  525. restoration of

  526. the greatest

  527. love, of

  528. one of the

  529. greatest loves

  530. that we

  531. can know

  532. in our

  533. existence.

  534. A mother's

  535. love for

  536. a child

  537. who she

  538. had to

  539. painfully

  540. abandon,

  541. who she

  542. had to

  543. lift,

  544. she had to

  545. leave there

  546. because she

  547. had done all

  548. she could

  549. for the

  550. child and

  551. she couldn't

  552. do any

  553. more for

  554. it.

  555. Her heart

  556. would have

  557. been broken

  558. putting the

  559. child into

  560. the river.

  561. But we

  562. have this

  563. restoration

  564. made through

  565. this child

  566. of one of

  567. the greatest

  568. loves that

  569. we can

  570. know.

  571. This child

  572. in the

  573. providence of

  574. God

  575. faithfully

  576. kept an

  577. eye upon

  578. the child

  579. and responded

  580. with these

  581. childlike

  582. impulses

  583. to restore

  584. that love.

  585. And the

  586. situation

  587. which was

  588. so bleak

  589. and so

  590. hopeless

  591. before

  592. is turned

  593. on its

  594. head

  595. to give

  596. an unspeakable

  597. joy,

  598. because it

  599. was really

  600. an unspeakable

  601. joy.

  602. They

  603. couldn't

  604. say of

  605. whom their

  606. love was

  607. for each

  608. other.

  609. It had

  610. to be a

  611. secret.

  612. And his

  613. sister,

  614. Miriam,

  615. whatever

  616. she had

  617. been taught,

  618. this young

  619. girl had

  620. witnessed,

  621. well,

  622. strange things.

  623. She witnessed

  624. the faith

  625. enacted by

  626. her parents

  627. for making

  628. the basket,

  629. placing her

  630. brother in

  631. it,

  632. and leaving

  633. him there

  634. in the

  635. river.

  636. She was

  637. the one

  638. that waited

  639. on their

  640. faith.

  641. She waited

  642. to see

  643. what would

  644. be the

  645. outcome of

  646. the parents'

  647. faith.

  648. She could

  649. stay,

  650. and so

  651. she remained

  652. there.

  653. waited to

  654. see what

  655. would come

  656. of it.

  657. And she

  658. saw the

  659. favour of

  660. God acted

  661. in faith.

  662. And she

  663. spoke herself

  664. out of

  665. faith,

  666. and knowing

  667. a joy to

  668. have a love

  669. restored,

  670. she saw

  671. faith being

  672. acted out,

  673. and she

  674. herself acted

  675. out faithfully,

  676. and drawing

  677. near into

  678. that tender

  679. situation.

  680. And by

  681. trusting in

  682. God,

  683. was able to

  684. restore the

  685. greatest love.

  686. And it is,

  687. in a sense,

  688. what we have

  689. in the

  690. gospel.

  691. It may be

  692. a weak

  693. image,

  694. in a sense,

  695. but we

  696. have here

  697. in the

  698. girl,

  699. like the

  700. gospel message.

  701. that Christ

  702. is like

  703. the child.

  704. And we

  705. are the

  706. ones,

  707. as the

  708. parents,

  709. that have

  710. been pushed

  711. away because

  712. of sin.

  713. The sin,

  714. the Pharaoh

  715. had sinfully

  716. said that the

  717. children should

  718. die.

  719. And we

  720. have been

  721. pushed away

  722. from that

  723. love.

  724. We have

  725. been separated

  726. from the

  727. greatest love

  728. because of the

  729. sins of men

  730. and the sins

  731. of our own.

  732. sin.

  733. But the

  734. believer

  735. who knows

  736. Christ,

  737. who has

  738. that blood

  739. connection

  740. with Christ,

  741. holds on

  742. throughout the

  743. situation,

  744. though it

  745. would be

  746. fearful,

  747. though it

  748. would be

  749. difficult.

  750. And they

  751. can see

  752. that the

  753. son,

  754. whom they

  755. have been

  756. faithfully

  757. watching on,

  758. has been

  759. uplifted from

  760. death and

  761. rescued.

  762. and we

  763. can run

  764. and say

  765. to each

  766. other,

  767. he is

  768. alive,

  769. he is

  770. alive.

  771. How

  772. beautiful were

  773. these feet

  774. that brought

  775. the good

  776. news to

  777. that mother.

  778. As if

  779. the spirit

  780. at work

  781. asking,

  782. that gospel

  783. message asking,

  784. shall I

  785. go?

  786. And God

  787. saying,

  788. go,

  789. go and

  790. tell the

  791. people

  792. that their

  793. love can be

  794. restored.

  795. and that

  796. men and

  797. women can

  798. have the

  799. greatest love

  800. restored in

  801. knowing Christ

  802. Jesus.

  803. Maybe it's a

  804. love that we

  805. don't know

  806. in full.

  807. But through

  808. the gospel,

  809. and through

  810. the ones who

  811. brings it,

  812. and through

  813. the ones who

  814. faithfully keep

  815. their eye on

  816. Christ,

  817. we can say

  818. to one

  819. another,

  820. to come.

  821. but he

  822. calls us

  823. to himself.

  824. No greater

  825. joy is

  826. there to

  827. know the

  828. love of

  829. God in

  830. our lives.

  831. A love

  832. that was

  833. known in

  834. past ages.

  835. God

  836. dwelt with

  837. man in

  838. the Garden

  839. of Eden.

  840. And through

  841. that son,

  842. it is

  843. restored to

  844. us a

  845. great love.

  846. For Moses

  847. became the

  848. ruler,

  849. defender,

  850. deliverer,

  851. intercessor for

  852. the people.

  853. And so

  854. Christ is

  855. to us

  856. the source

  857. of all

  858. hope,

  859. as Moses

  860. came to

  861. be for

  862. the people

  863. of Israel.

  864. And in

  865. Christ he

  866. is the

  867. source of

  868. our hope.

  869. And great

  870. joy we

  871. find when

  872. we know

  873. that we

  874. are called

  875. and we

  876. know that

  877. the love

  878. of Christ

  879. is restored

  880. to us.

  881. through that

  882. young girl

  883. who held

  884. on in

  885. faith,

  886. saw an

  887. enacted

  888. faith,

  889. and went

  890. boldly into

  891. situations that

  892. were terrifying

  893. for her,

  894. but received

  895. great joy

  896. in restoring

  897. love.

  898. Wouldn't it be a

  899. great joy for

  900. us if we

  901. saw people

  902. coming to

  903. know of that

  904. love?

  905. boys and

  906. girls,

  907. men and

  908. women,

  909. to know

  910. the

  911. restoration

  912. of the

  913. great love

  914. of Jesus

  915. Christ for

  916. when.

  917. We'll turn

  918. now to the

  919. book of

  920. 2 Kings.

  921. And there's

  922. a passage

  923. there about

  924. the girl

  925. who was

  926. captured

  927. by the

  928. Syrians.

  929. And let's

  930. read there

  931. in verse

  932. 3 what

  933. she says.

  934. Would

  935. that my

  936. lord were

  937. with the

  938. prophet who

  939. is in

  940. Samaria,

  941. he would

  942. cure him

  943. of his

  944. leprosy.

  945. This young

  946. girl, as we

  947. said, is

  948. not in the

  949. preferred

  950. conditions that

  951. she would

  952. have liked,

  953. far from

  954. ideal,

  955. captured from

  956. Israel,

  957. likely to

  958. have been

  959. separated from

  960. her parents,

  961. but again

  962. this mouthpiece,

  963. and little

  964. mouthpiece as

  965. it is,

  966. placed by

  967. God, by

  968. his providence

  969. again,

  970. among the

  971. esteemed of

  972. the world,

  973. to give

  974. them

  975. direction.

  976. We

  977. couldn't have

  978. been there.

  979. It could

  980. only have

  981. been a

  982. child.

  983. She has

  984. identified

  985. the plight

  986. of Naaman

  987. by being

  988. in that

  989. household,

  990. by being

  991. in that

  992. esteemed

  993. household,

  994. working

  995. alongside

  996. his wife,

  997. and

  998. confidently

  999. declared a

  1000. message of

  1001. hope there.

  1002. in verse

  1003. 3.

  1004. And there's

  1005. a message

  1006. of hope

  1007. that draws

  1008. them closer

  1009. to the

  1010. enemy,

  1011. of whom

  1012. they had

  1013. been

  1014. stealing

  1015. from,

  1016. and plundering

  1017. many a

  1018. times,

  1019. and she

  1020. herself had

  1021. been plundered

  1022. from them.

  1023. And there

  1024. she brings

  1025. this message

  1026. of hope

  1027. to be

  1028. found

  1029. amongst

  1030. that land.

  1031. And you

  1032. wonder why,

  1033. or how did

  1034. she know

  1035. these things?

  1036. How did

  1037. she know

  1038. that the

  1039. prophet

  1040. would save

  1041. and cure

  1042. Naaman's

  1043. leprosy?

  1044. We don't

  1045. know for

  1046. sure,

  1047. but we

  1048. know that

  1049. she knew

  1050. about the

  1051. prophet,

  1052. and she

  1053. knew that

  1054. he could

  1055. do miraculous

  1056. works and

  1057. signs.

  1058. she had

  1059. been taught

  1060. things of

  1061. God.

  1062. She had

  1063. been taught

  1064. about the

  1065. power of

  1066. God,

  1067. and she

  1068. had no

  1069. doubt about

  1070. it.

  1071. She did

  1072. not waver

  1073. in it,

  1074. but she

  1075. had confidence

  1076. in this

  1077. time to

  1078. say that

  1079. Naaman can

  1080. be healed

  1081. of his

  1082. leprosy if

  1083. he would

  1084. meet the

  1085. man of

  1086. God.

  1087. And God's

  1088. providence,

  1089. she is

  1090. there.

  1091. To bring

  1092. hope to

  1093. this man.

  1094. She had

  1095. been prepared

  1096. and taught

  1097. likely by

  1098. her parents

  1099. she would

  1100. have seen

  1101. these things

  1102. beside her.

  1103. Whether she

  1104. valued it at

  1105. the time when

  1106. she was younger

  1107. or not,

  1108. we do not

  1109. know.

  1110. But she

  1111. remembered it,

  1112. and she

  1113. remembered the

  1114. effects of

  1115. the man of

  1116. God,

  1117. and the

  1118. power of

  1119. God,

  1120. and what

  1121. God could

  1122. do.

  1123. she remembered

  1124. it in her

  1125. own affliction,

  1126. no doubt,

  1127. and she

  1128. had confidence

  1129. to say

  1130. that in the

  1131. afflictions of

  1132. Naaman,

  1133. and the

  1134. saving of

  1135. him from

  1136. his own

  1137. leprosy,

  1138. the confidence

  1139. of a child

  1140. who knows

  1141. the truth,

  1142. who has

  1143. been taught

  1144. the truth,

  1145. and has

  1146. that childlike

  1147. faith not

  1148. to doubt

  1149. it.

  1150. It's a

  1151. situation

  1152. where you

  1153. think a

  1154. man or

  1155. woman,

  1156. had they

  1157. said such

  1158. a word,

  1159. would have

  1160. doubted that

  1161. well, if he

  1162. went, will

  1163. he come

  1164. back healed?

  1165. They would

  1166. have to face

  1167. the retribution

  1168. of a

  1169. returning

  1170. commander if

  1171. he came

  1172. back unhealed,

  1173. and what

  1174. would that

  1175. mean for

  1176. them?

  1177. But the

  1178. child,

  1179. just out

  1180. of faith

  1181. and

  1182. confidence,

  1183. plainly

  1184. stated,

  1185. that Naaman

  1186. can be

  1187. healed if

  1188. he goes

  1189. to the

  1190. prophet who

  1191. is Samaria,

  1192. he would

  1193. cure him

  1194. of his

  1195. leprosy.

  1196. She had

  1197. confidence

  1198. in the

  1199. man of

  1200. God,

  1201. and she

  1202. sets forth

  1203. a hope

  1204. to Naaman

  1205. that otherwise

  1206. he did

  1207. not have,

  1208. a hope

  1209. that he

  1210. could not

  1211. find in

  1212. anywhere

  1213. else,

  1214. and the

  1215. influence

  1216. again

  1217. of the

  1218. innocent

  1219. child's

  1220. voice.

  1221. It's

  1222. remarkable.

  1223. And of

  1224. course she

  1225. returned

  1226. cleansed,

  1227. so we

  1228. know the

  1229. story.

  1230. And I

  1231. wonder what

  1232. joy it

  1233. brought to

  1234. the family

  1235. of Naaman,

  1236. the household

  1237. of Naaman,

  1238. I wonder

  1239. what joy it

  1240. brought to

  1241. the girl,

  1242. in knowing

  1243. that God

  1244. did not

  1245. fail her,

  1246. in knowing

  1247. that she

  1248. was assured

  1249. of God's

  1250. power,

  1251. that she

  1252. would have

  1253. been confident

  1254. again to

  1255. speak and

  1256. trust in

  1257. that God

  1258. of whom

  1259. she had

  1260. been taught.

  1261. The children

  1262. who are set

  1263. aside as the

  1264. Lord's

  1265. children,

  1266. these two

  1267. voiced hope,

  1268. and they

  1269. brought joy.

  1270. And we

  1271. pray that

  1272. the children

  1273. whom we

  1274. teach,

  1275. whom we

  1276. meet,

  1277. whom we

  1278. know in

  1279. our families,

  1280. would do

  1281. likewise,

  1282. that they

  1283. would bring

  1284. hope into

  1285. this world,

  1286. that they

  1287. would bring

  1288. hope to

  1289. the souls

  1290. of men

  1291. and women

  1292. who are

  1293. suffering,

  1294. and they

  1295. would,

  1296. in their

  1297. childlike

  1298. faith and

  1299. confidence,

  1300. speak of

  1301. the healing

  1302. of sin

  1303. that we

  1304. can each

  1305. know,

  1306. and the

  1307. peace of

  1308. heart,

  1309. and the

  1310. freedom from

  1311. the world's

  1312. oppressions,

  1313. and the

  1314. eternal

  1315. security that

  1316. we can

  1317. have,

  1318. trusting

  1319. in God.

  1320. There is a

  1321. man,

  1322. there is

  1323. Christ,

  1324. he died for

  1325. your sins,

  1326. he is one

  1327. that will

  1328. restore your

  1329. life,

  1330. and restore

  1331. and give

  1332. you the

  1333. greatest love

  1334. that you

  1335. will ever

  1336. know.

  1337. In the

  1338. providence of

  1339. God,

  1340. these children

  1341. are set

  1342. in their

  1343. midst,

  1344. maybe they're

  1345. in an

  1346. experience in

  1347. situations that

  1348. are not

  1349. favourable,

  1350. we don't

  1351. know,

  1352. yet we

  1353. pray that

  1354. they will be

  1355. ones who

  1356. will trust

  1357. in God,

  1358. and to

  1359. understand

  1360. what we

  1361. teach them,

  1362. and understand

  1363. what Christ

  1364. has done

  1365. for them,

  1366. and that

  1367. they will be

  1368. prepared in

  1369. their young

  1370. lives,

  1371. we don't

  1372. know where

  1373. God will

  1374. lead them,

  1375. but the

  1376. providence of

  1377. God will

  1378. take them

  1379. to the

  1380. people that

  1381. they would

  1382. meet,

  1383. but we

  1384. pray that

  1385. they will

  1386. not forget

  1387. what they

  1388. were taught,

  1389. and they

  1390. would remember

  1391. in their

  1392. afflictions,

  1393. and in

  1394. other

  1395. afflictions,

  1396. that they

  1397. too would

  1398. have

  1399. confidence

  1400. to turn

  1401. and direct

  1402. others to

  1403. the man

  1404. of God,

  1405. with great

  1406. trust and

  1407. faith,

  1408. that they

  1409. would likewise

  1410. know the

  1411. joy of

  1412. one's

  1413. returning,

  1414. who knew

  1415. the cleansing

  1416. of their

  1417. sin,

  1418. who knew

  1419. a restored

  1420. joy,

  1421. that they

  1422. would set

  1423. their hearts

  1424. on God's

  1425. word,

  1426. and trust

  1427. in it,

  1428. we would

  1429. be witnesses

  1430. of the

  1431. goodness of

  1432. God in

  1433. all things,

  1434. and we

  1435. likewise

  1436. would know

  1437. joy in

  1438. seeing them

  1439. grow,

  1440. the importance

  1441. of teaching

  1442. our children,

  1443. the influence

  1444. that they

  1445. can have

  1446. in our

  1447. lives,

  1448. and in

  1449. the lives

  1450. of others,

  1451. they can

  1452. go into

  1453. places where

  1454. we cannot

  1455. go,

  1456. and they

  1457. can speak

  1458. to people

  1459. that we

  1460. cannot speak

  1461. to,

  1462. so we

  1463. must be

  1464. mindful to

  1465. be praying

  1466. for them,

  1467. that they

  1468. would bring

  1469. the gospel

  1470. to others,

  1471. and that they

  1472. would likewise

  1473. share in the

  1474. joys of

  1475. knowing God

  1476. and trusting

  1477. in him.

  1478. May these

  1479. thoughts be

  1480. blessed to

  1481. us.

  1482. we'll

  1483. conclude

  1484. our

  1485. wash.
