  1. I just come to worship God now by singing to his praise in Psalm 84 of the Scottish Psalter version.

  2. Psalm 84, you'll find that on page 338 of the Blue Book.

  3. A familiar psalm to us, as it's good to sing the familiar psalms with the young ones here present with us before they go next door.

  4. From the beginning of that psalm, how lovely is thy dwelling place.

  5. O Lord of hosts to me, the tabernacles of thy grace, how pleasant Lord they be.

  6. My thirsty soul longs vehemently, ye faints thy courts to see.

  7. My very heart and flesh cry out, O living God for thee.

  8. We'll sing from the beginning of that psalm down to the end of verse Mark 6.

  9. To God's praise, let us stand to sing.

  10. How lovely is thy dwelling place.

  11. Our lovely is thy dwelling place.

  12. O Lord of hosts to me.

  13. The tabernacles of thy grace.

  14. How blessed Lord they be.

  15. My heart and fleshly, my heart and flesh cry out, O living God for thee.

  16. My heart and flesh cry out, O living God for thee.

  17. My heart and flesh cry out, O living God for thee.

  18. I have seen the name of that psalm down to the end of verse Mark 6.

  19. The heart and flesh try out, O living God for thee.

  20. Behold the spot of thy divine, and thy strength to rest.

  21. The swallow also for herself, a purchase of the nest.

  22. In thine own altars where she stayed, her young was forth made vain.

  23. O love, almighty Lord of hosts, who art my God and King.

  24. Lest, darling, in thy hearts not dwell, may ever give thee praise.

  25. Lest is the man who strength the heart, in whose heart are thine ways.

  26. You passing that of me, God's will, may in due day God dwells.

  27. O so the rain that falleth die, the pools with water fills.

  28. Amen.

  29. We'll say a short prayer for the young ones before they go through next door.

  30. Let us pray together.

  31. Our Heavenly Father, we give thanks for this day that you have given to us,

  32. and all the privileges of it.

  33. We thank you for the people that are gathered here,

  34. and we pray that we would be known by you,

  35. and that you would know us in the depths of our hearts,

  36. the things that trouble us,

  37. and the things that we are ever so thankful to you for.

  38. And we just thank you for all the families that are gathered here.

  39. We pray for the young ones that are meeting with us,

  40. and we pray that they would come to know Jesus Christ,

  41. and that they would trust in him for their lives.

  42. And as they go through next door,

  43. we pray that they would learn more about him,

  44. and his beauty and presence with them,

  45. that they trust in him.

  46. We pray also for the teachers that teach them,

  47. and ask that you too would be with them.

  48. We pray for this time of holiday,

  49. and we thank you for friends and family gathering from other places,

  50. and that we have the time to go and meet with others,

  51. and that we can just enjoy the company of one another,

  52. and the love that we share with one another,

  53. be restored and renewed.

  54. We just pray that ultimately,

  55. we would know as we gather together,

  56. that we would meet with you this morning,

  57. and that our love for you would be rekindled,

  58. and that we would say that it is good to meet with you.

  59. As we draw near to your word,

  60. may it speak to us,

  61. and we just ask that you would go with us

  62. in every step that we take,

  63. even as we gather here,

  64. protect our minds from being led astray,

  65. and that we would give our minds attention

  66. to the Lord Jesus Christ,

  67. who died at Calvary for us.

  68. So we thank you for all that we receive through him,

  69. and we ask all things through his name.

  70. Amen.

  71. I'll just say a short word to the younger,

  72. young ones that are here with us,

  73. and I was in the garden shop a couple of months ago,

  74. probably about six months ago,

  75. and I love raspberries,

  76. and there was a wee raspberry bush there.

  77. It just looked like sticks.

  78. There wasn't much to it.

  79. I thought, well, we'll buy one.

  80. I said to the girls,

  81. we'll buy one,

  82. we'll stick one in the garden,

  83. and hopefully we'll get raspberries of it.

  84. But the man said to us,

  85. well, I don't know,

  86. will you get any of it this year?

  87. You might get one or two.

  88. But we did get a few,

  89. and the girls found a raspberry on the bush

  90. a couple of weeks ago,

  91. and they were delighted coming into the house

  92. saying, we found a raspberry.

  93. I thought I would take one in to show you.

  94. Now, I have a watch here.

  95. You see it?

  96. A raspberry there.

  97. It's big, isn't it?

  98. Looks juicy and yummy, doesn't it?

  99. Yeah?

  100. You like raspberries?

  101. Yeah?

  102. Yeah, they're good.

  103. I love them too.

  104. This isn't the one I brought in from my bush.

  105. Let me show you the one I brought in from my bush.

  106. That's it.

  107. There's not much to it, is there?

  108. No.

  109. No, I thought I could just plant it,

  110. and I would get loads of lovely raspberries

  111. from this plant.

  112. But I didn't really look after it.

  113. I just stuck it in the ground,

  114. and we got one or two,

  115. but that was it.

  116. The birds have been eating the rest.

  117. So I wasn't really doing a good job

  118. looking after the plant.

  119. But in the Bible, we are told,

  120. and we'll spend time on this with the grown-ups,

  121. that we are branches,

  122. that Jesus Christ is like the main stem of the branch,

  123. like the roots,

  124. and God is the one that looks after the plant.

  125. And when God looks after the plant,

  126. and that we are like branches attached to Jesus Christ,

  127. we bring forth loads of fruit.

  128. We look tasty like that,

  129. nice juicy raspberry.

  130. It's good, isn't it?

  131. It is good.

  132. This one isn't good.

  133. And I'm not going to eat that one.

  134. I won't eat it.

  135. When we stay with Jesus,

  136. we will be beautiful.

  137. We will be something that pleases

  138. the one who looks after the plant.

  139. The one who looks after the plant is God.

  140. I didn't look after this plant very well,

  141. and I wasn't very pleased to see

  142. that the birds had eaten all my raspberries.

  143. But God looks after you.

  144. And if you trust your lives to Jesus,

  145. and you stay with Jesus,

  146. and you listen to the words of Jesus,

  147. when he tells you to obey your parents,

  148. that's a good thing to do,

  149. to share all your things that you have with others.

  150. That's a good thing to do,

  151. to love one another,

  152. to be nice and to be kind,

  153. to do all these good things.

  154. God will be happy with you.

  155. Yeah?

  156. So when you see raspberries,

  157. when you see these juicy raspberries,

  158. or juicy strawberries,

  159. remember that you can be a branch,

  160. and that you can be something pleasing to God,

  161. if you listen to what God says,

  162. and you listen to all that he asks us to do.

  163. So we'll say the Lord's Prayer together before you go.

  164. Okay?

  165. Close your eyes,

  166. put your hands together.

  167. Our Father,

  168. which art in heaven,

  169. hallowed be thy name.

  170. Thy kingdom come.

  171. Thy will be done on earth,

  172. as it is in heaven.

  173. Give us this day our daily bread,

  174. and forgive us our debts,

  175. as we forgive our debtors.

  176. Lead us not into temptation,

  177. but deliver us from evil.

  178. For thine is the kingdom,

  179. the power and the glory,

  180. forever.

  181. Amen.

  182. Well, thank you,

  183. boys and girls,

  184. for listening to me.

  185. And remember,

  186. Jesus,

  187. if we stay with him,

  188. we will become beautiful

  189. in God's eyes.

  190. So we'll continue in our praise by singing in Psalm 63 of the Sing Psalms version on page 80,

  191. page 80 of the blue book.

  192. Psalm 63 from the beginning of that psalm.

  193. Psalm that speaks about having confidence in God in the times of trouble.

  194. We'll sing from verse down to verse 1 to 8.

  195. Oh God,

  196. you are my God alone.

  197. I seek your face with eagerness.

  198. My soul and body thirst for you

  199. in this dry weary wilderness.

  200. Down to the last verse there from 7 to 8.

  201. Because you are my help alone.

  202. And shadow off your wings I'll sing.

  203. You hold me up with your right hand.

  204. To you,

  205. O God,

  206. my soul will cling.

  207. So we'll sing these verses together.

  208. We'll stand to sing.

  209. O God,

  210. you are my God alone.

  211. O God,

  212. you are my God alone.

  213. I seek your face with eagerness.

  214. My soul and body thirst for you

  215. and rest my weary wilderness.

  216. In this dry weary wilderness.

  217. I've seen you in your holy place.

  218. Your power and glory held my gaze.

  219. For better is,

  220. your love,

  221. the light,

  222. and so my lips

  223. will sing your praise.

  224. I'll bless you,

  225. Lord,

  226. throughout my life,

  227. and raise my hand to you in prayer.

  228. My joyfulness will sing your praise.

  229. My soul is fed with riches fair.

  230. Upon my bed,

  231. I lie awake,

  232. and in my thoughts remember you.

  233. I meditate throughout the night,

  234. and keep your constant love in you.

  235. Because you are my help alone,

  236. in shadow of your wings I'll sing.

  237. You hold me up with your right hand.

  238. To you,

  239. O God,

  240. my soul will play.

  241. Amen.

  242. We'll turn now to a reading of the Word of God.

  243. We'll find that in the Gospel of John,

    John 15 chapter mention

  244. chapter 15,

  245. from the beginning of that chapter.

  246. Gospel of John,

  247. reading from chapter 15 at the beginning.

  248. And we'll read down to the end of verse Mark 17.

  249. Let us hear the Word of God.

  250. I am the true vine,

  251. and my Father is the vine dresser.

  252. Every branch of mine that does not bear fruit,

  253. he takes away,

  254. and every branch that does bear fruit,

  255. he prunes,

  256. that it may bear more fruit.

  257. Already you are clean

  258. because of the word that I have spoken to you.

  259. Abide in me,

  260. and I in you.

  261. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself

  262. unless it abides in the vine,

  263. neither can you.

  264. Unless you abide in me.

  265. I am the vine,

  266. you are the branches.

  267. Whoever abides in me,

  268. and I in him,

  269. he it is that bears much fruit.

  270. For apart from me,

  271. you can do nothing.

  272. If anyone does not abide in me,

  273. he is thrown away like a branch and wither,

  274. and the branches are gathered,

  275. thrown into the fire,

  276. and burned.

  277. If you abide in me,

  278. and my words abide in you,

  279. ask whatever you wish,

  280. and it will be done for you.

  281. By this my Father is glorified,

  282. that you bear much fruit,

  283. and so prove to be my disciples.

  284. As the Father has loved me,

  285. so I have loved you.

  286. Abide in my love.

  287. If you keep my commandments,

  288. you will abide in my love,

  289. just as I have kept my Father's commandments,

  290. and abide in his love.

  291. These things I have spoken to you,

  292. that my joy may be in you,

  293. and that your joy may be full.

  294. This is my commandment,

  295. that you love one another,

  296. as I have loved you.

  297. Greater love has no one than this,

  298. that someone lays down his life for his friends.

  299. You are my friends,

  300. if you do what I command you.

  301. No longer do I call you servants,

  302. for the servant does not know

  303. what his master is doing,

  304. but I have called you friends.

  305. For all that I have heard from my Father,

  306. I have made known to you.

  307. You did not choose me,

  308. but I chose you,

  309. and appointed you,

  310. that you should go and bear fruit,

  311. and that your fruit should abide,

  312. so that whatever you ask the Father in my name,

  313. he may give it to you.

  314. These things I command you,

  315. so that you will love one another.

  316. Amen.

  317. May the reading of God's word

  318. be a blessing to the hearer of it.

  319. Let us join together in prayer.

  320. Our Father in heaven,

  321. we give thanks that we are gathered here again,

  322. and that we have your word set before us,

  323. and that by reading it,

  324. we have revealed to us

  325. the greatest things of you,

  326. and the greatness of your love for us,

  327. and how we struggle to comprehend it.

  328. We struggle to grasp it.

  329. We struggle to understand the depths of your love for us,

  330. the breadth of it,

  331. the height of it,

  332. the length of it,

  333. the width of it.

  334. But Lord,

  335. we pray as we gather this morning,

  336. and consider your love,

  337. that a measure of it would be made known to us,

  338. and that we would be certain of your love to mankind,

  339. and your love to us.

  340. Lord,

  341. let your word speak to us.

  342. May the riches of it come before us,

  343. and our rested hearts.

  344. May your love be evident amongst your people,

  345. that we would be fulfilling the command that is set before us,

  346. to love one another,

  347. to love the brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus,

  348. but to love also those who are not in Christ,

  349. that their heart desire would be,

  350. and our love would be,

  351. for the lost amongst us,

  352. and the lost that are within our community,

  353. and our families,

  354. and our friends,

  355. that we would have the greatest desire to go out,

  356. and tell them about the greatest love of the world,

  357. greatest love beyond the world,

  358. that we find in Jesus Christ,

  359. that it would be openly shared,

  360. and not with hell,

  361. as Christ himself shared,

  362. the things of God with us,

  363. and his plans and purposes for our lives,

  364. that he will be one that will go before us,

  365. and prepare a place for us,

  366. and we can be assured of his love,

  367. when we come to the cross at Calvary,

  368. because he died for us,

  369. and we can be certain,

  370. and sure,

  371. that his love,

  372. is for us,

  373. Lord,

  374. as we come to these things,

  375. we admit our weaknesses in understanding it,

  376. but we pray that your spirit would enable us,

  377. and if we do things of our own selves,

  378. it says there in the words,

  379. that we will come to nothing,

  380. and likewise,

  381. more so when we come to your words,

  382. that we do not rely on our own strength,

  383. or our own wisdom to understand it,

  384. or to speak to the hearts of others,

  385. or to speak to the hearts of others,

  386. or to rely on the power of your spirit,

  387. that it would go forth from your words,

  388. into the hearts of sinners,

  389. convicting, converting,

  390. persuading,

  391. and enabling them to embrace the greatest love of Jesus Christ,

  392. and that they may come and abide in him,

  393. and rest in him,

  394. receiving the greatest joy of life,

  395. and finding in themselves the purpose of their lives,

  396. that they are not left estranged,

  397. they are not abandoned,

  398. they are not forgotten about,

  399. but the love of Jesus Christ extends to them,

  400. as our loving heavenly father does to his child,

  401. the father does not forget about his children,

  402. but he calls them to come to him,

  403. and to come and confess the pains of our hearts,

  404. and the agonies of our hearts,

  405. the plights of life,

  406. and that you will hear our prayer,

  407. and you do not withhold your grace from us,

  408. and that you will answer us,

  409. according to your wisdom,

  410. and your ways,

  411. often it is just the groaning of our hearts,

  412. that we can echo,

  413. but you know them too,

  414. Lord,

  415. we give thanks for all that you have done for us,

  416. and continue to do for us,

  417. we ask that you would continue to go before us in all things,

  418. and every step of life,

  419. which is so uncertain to us,

  420. we do not know what an hour brings forth for any of us,

  421. we are often surprised,

  422. we are often shocked,

  423. but we can rest assured,

  424. that the love of God will ever remain,

  425. it surprises us when it comes to us,

  426. but it is not one that will depart from us,

  427. we can trust in it eternally,

  428. and even beyond this life,

  429. for death will not end that love,

  430. that love will continue in eternity,

  431. for Jesus is alive,

  432. and his love is ever present with us,

  433. we pray for each one that is gathered here,

  434. and our situations,

  435. we pray for those who are sick,

  436. we pray for those who are mourning,

  437. we ask that you would be their comforter,

  438. and draw near to them,

  439. be their strength,

  440. O Lord,

  441. we pray,

  442. that they would know you,

  443. being present with them,

  444. and abiding with them,

  445. Lord,

  446. we just ask that you would be with us,

  447. in the preaching of the gospel,

  448. whatever it be,

  449. gathered here,

  450. or across our nation,

  451. that it would go with your power,

  452. that it would go with your spirit,

  453. that it would grow with great effect,

  454. and we say,

  455. that we may see,

  456. people turning to abide in Christ Jesus,

  457. and turning to rest,

  458. under the shadow of his wings,

  459. and the shelter that he gives to us,

  460. that we are joy may be full,

  461. and the joy of Christ Jesus,

  462. may fill the land of Scotland,

  463. that we remember Alex and Nina from Moldova,

  464. we pray for him,

  465. as he preaches the gospel also,

  466. that he may be an encouragement to one another,

  467. that we may strengthen one another,

  468. as we meet tonight,

  469. we pray for Alex and Nina,

  470. and the boys,

  471. as they speak to us,

  472. and speak to the young ones,

  473. that they may,

  474. to likewise,

  475. bring the beauty of Christ with them,

  476. that dwells within their hearts,

  477. we pray for them,

  478. in Nisborain,

  479. and the work that they do in the church,

  480. and that you would be their strength,

  481. as they welcome,

  482. and support neighbouring Ukraine,

  483. and the people that flee,

  484. from the dangers that are there,

  485. we pray,

  486. that you would bring peace in that land,

  487. we pray for Russia,

  488. and their forces,

  489. and that they would turn from their ways,

  490. in which they are set upon,

  491. that they may see the folly of their ways,

  492. that they would question their ways,

  493. and ask why are we doing such a thing,

  494. to our mankind,

  495. we just pray,

  496. that you would,

  497. be over us in all things,

  498. we pray for the young,

  499. as they enjoy time of holiday,

  500. and return to schools,

  501. we remember the teaching staff as well,

  502. as they prepare,

  503. to have the children come back,

  504. just ask that you would bless the children,

  505. in their young years,

  506. and that they may hear the gospel,

  507. and know it,

  508. and not depart from it,

  509. and their lives may grow in,

  510. through him,

  511. and become beautiful,

  512. in the eyes of God,

  513. as we too,

  514. trust in Christ,

  515. may our lives,

  516. echo his beauty,

  517. and be pleasing,

  518. to God,

  519. all these things,

  520. we ask in the name of Jesus Christ,

  521. your son,

  522. and our saviour,

  523. amen,

  524. we continue in praise to God,

  525. by singing in Psalm 45,

  526. in the Sing Psalms version,

  527. on page 56,

  528. Psalm 45,

  529. from the beginning of that psalm,

  530. a noble theme inspires my heart,

  531. with verses for the king,

  532. my tongues a skillful writer's pen,

  533. composing lines to sing,

  534. you far excel the best of men,

  535. your lips are full of grace,

  536. for God has blessed you evermore,

  537. as light shines on your face,

  538. we'll just sing,

  539. down to the end of verse Mark 4,

  540. these four stanzas,

  541. it is a love song,

  542. a love that the king gives to his people,

  543. and it is a noble theme,

  544. that should inspire the heart,

  545. of every one of us,

  546. the love that Jesus Christ,

  547. our king has for us,

  548. so we'll sing these four stanzas,

  549. a noble theme,

  550. inspires my heart,

  551. let us stand and sing,

  552. praise to God,

  553. a noble theme,

  554. inspires my heart,

  555. with verses for the king,

  556. my songs a skillful writer's pen,

  557. my songs a skillful writer's pen,

  558. from the old sea lines to sing,

  559. you far excel the best of men,

  560. your lips are full of grace,

  561. for God has blessed you evermore,

  562. his light shines on your face,

  563. O mighty one,

  564. and find it on your thigh,

  565. with glorious center,

  566. with glorious center,

  567. and with your majesty,

  568. sacrifice,

  569. your badge,

  570. glad to hend to be worthy of,

  571. I can't display your deeds

  572. of all of separate and lies.

  573. Let me turn back to the passage that we read together.

  574. And we'll have a focus between verse 9 and verse 13.

  575. Verse 9, as the Father has loved me, so I have loved you.

  576. Abide in my love.

  577. And verse 13, greater love has no one than this,

  578. that someone lays down his life for his friends.

  579. Have you ever wondered if God loves you?

  580. Have you ever questioned God if he cares for you?

  581. I'm sure many of you have.

  582. On often times of difficulties, when life is hard,

  583. we ask these things of God.

  584. We don't tend to ask it, though, when life is going well.

  585. Maybe that's for fear that we may think that it is true,

  586. that God loves us.

  587. Regardless of whatever situation we are in tonight,

  588. or today, this morning,

  589. I hope that we will realize that God loves us

  590. as we come to this passage.

  591. And this passage that we have here in chapter 15,

  592. it's the last words of Jesus Christ to his disciples.

  593. As he met with them in the upper room

  594. before he was taken away to be crucified.

  595. He is preparing and strengthening his disciples,

  596. his friends, before he departs,

  597. and for what is to come.

  598. And the chapters between chapter 13 and chapter 17,

  599. we have some of the richest passages of Scripture set before us.

  600. It is, as anyone's last words would be,

  601. a weighty expression of his love for them.

  602. And in it, what we have set before us today,

  603. is love present and love practiced.

  604. There are two points today,

  605. love present and love practiced.

  606. But before we take these points by means of introduction,

  607. we look at the image briefly that is set before us here

  608. of this true vine.

  609. The vine that is used to express the love of God

  610. and the love of Jesus Christ.

  611. The vine that grows with many branches.

  612. The father that cares for this plant.

  613. The vine, which is Christ,

  614. the substance of it, the stem, the roots, is Christ.

  615. And this is the main focus of the father's devotion and love.

  616. And out of that stem, that root, that vine,

  617. comes the branches.

  618. We are the branches, the people of God,

  619. who only bear fruit when we abide in Christ.

  620. Jesus is saying to them,

  621. you are made as a branch.

  622. You are made to bear good fruit.

  623. And you can only do that when you are connected to me.

  624. When you are connected to the vine.

  625. And if you do not take your strength from me,

  626. well, we learn that the branch withers.

  627. For the branch will not be a pleasing sight like fruit.

  628. It will be bare.

  629. And we only fulfill our created purpose

  630. by abiding in Christ.

  631. What we have here,

  632. we are the branches.

  633. Every one of us here is like a branch.

  634. And you are created by God

  635. to be a part of his purposes.

  636. And even in that itself,

  637. your answer to your question,

  638. does God love you?

  639. He has created you.

  640. And he wants you to be a part of him.

  641. Answer it with assurance

  642. that yes, he does love you.

  643. This is the best place for you.

  644. To be adjoined to Jesus Christ.

  645. To be abiding in the love of Christ.

  646. And if you are,

  647. it says that your life will be abundantly beautiful.

  648. There is no comparison

  649. between the branch that bears fruit

  650. and the branch that withers.

  651. And it is a joyful thing

  652. to have fruit.

  653. Just like my children

  654. came running into the house

  655. to show me

  656. that they had found a raspberry.

  657. It is a joyful thing

  658. to bear fruit for God.

  659. And it is a joy

  660. that you bear fruit to God.

  661. We will find joy

  662. in abiding in Christ.

  663. And what is expressed in this image

  664. is the love of God.

  665. The love of God made known

  666. to the branch through the vine.

  667. The love of God

  668. that we know through Jesus.

  669. Just as the Father loves me,

  670. so I love you.

  671. It is passed on.

  672. The love of God

  673. we know through Jesus Christ.

  674. And he is comforting

  675. his friends,

  676. his disciples in these words

  677. by saying

  678. that God

  679. will remain with you.

  680. The love of God

  681. will be known

  682. in your life

  683. through me.

  684. And when you know my love,

  685. you will know my joy.

  686. And it will be like no other joy

  687. that you have ever known.

  688. So we ask ourselves,

  689. what sort of branch

  690. are we this morning?

  691. Do we abide in Christ?

  692. Are we bringing forth fruit

  693. for God?

  694. Or are we a branch

  695. that is set on its own ways

  696. and will ultimately wither?

  697. So love present

  698. in this passage.

  699. Really what I want to do first

  700. is see how love present

  701. in our lives.

  702. and how we understand love

  703. in comparison

  704. to the presence

  705. of God's love.

  706. Because we are so often

  707. the branch

  708. that does not want

  709. to abide in Christ,

  710. aren't we?

  711. We so often want

  712. to do things our way.

  713. We want to love

  714. the things of the world

  715. without Christ.

  716. We don't want

  717. to love Christ

  718. in and of ourselves.

  719. We want to live

  720. without him.

  721. But we are told

  722. that that branch

  723. withers.

  724. life without Christ

  725. leaves us empty

  726. at the end of the day.

  727. A love

  728. without the love

  729. of Christ

  730. leaves us bare.

  731. And in the sight

  732. of God

  733. is no good.

  734. And you can think

  735. of all the things

  736. that you love

  737. in this world,

  738. not in a romantic sense,

  739. but where the affections

  740. of your heart

  741. are drawn to.

  742. You have many

  743. different things.

  744. It may be football,

  745. it may be rugby,

  746. cars,

  747. bikes,

  748. it may be your home,

  749. it may be your bed.

  750. You can love

  751. the smallest of things

  752. and you can love

  753. the greatest of things.

  754. As the people

  755. around us,

  756. the friends

  757. and the families

  758. that we have,

  759. there's a vast difference

  760. between these loves.

  761. But love

  762. is every bit

  763. a part of us.

  764. What is your

  765. greatest love

  766. in this world?

  767. What is your

  768. greatest love

  769. in this world?

  770. And has your love

  771. been perfect

  772. to that thing

  773. or person?

  774. Has your love

  775. ever deviated

  776. in its devotion

  777. to the object

  778. of your love?

  779. Has your love

  780. ever grown cold?

  781. Has your love

  782. ever changed?

  783. Has your love

  784. ever been distracted

  785. by something else?

  786. It probably has

  787. if we are honest

  788. with ourselves.

  789. Because our love,

  790. it's not perfect.

  791. Our love fluctuates.

  792. It grows.

  793. It fades.

  794. Our love moves.

  795. It changes.

  796. And our love

  797. can decay.

  798. We place our love

  799. in the things

  800. of this world.

  801. But they are liable

  802. to disappoint us.

  803. And so also

  804. we can disappoint them.

  805. And ultimately

  806. the loves

  807. of this world

  808. will come

  809. to an end.

  810. and that may

  811. leave us

  812. chasing other loves.

  813. Our heart's desire

  814. is to love.

  815. Love

  816. of the world

  817. only temporarily

  818. satisfies us.

  819. And it is true

  820. that maybe

  821. we can say

  822. that we can exhaust

  823. the loves

  824. of this world.

  825. And sometimes

  826. we can say

  827. sadly

  828. that the loves

  829. of this world

  830. fail us.

  831. where do you go

  832. then?

  833. When every love

  834. of the world

  835. has failed you

  836. where do you go?

  837. What do you love?

  838. So we can chase

  839. after all the things

  840. of this world.

  841. We can grab

  842. a hold of them

  843. but our love

  844. deviates.

  845. Our love grows

  846. cold.

  847. Our love changes.

  848. It's like

  849. chasing the wind.

  850. We try and grab

  851. and hold love

  852. but we never

  853. quite get it.

  854. We're never

  855. quite satisfied

  856. with it.

  857. It never quite

  858. gives us joy.

  859. We're left

  860. withered

  861. when we try

  862. and satisfy

  863. ourselves

  864. with the love

  865. of the world.

  866. When we try

  867. to keep our love

  868. alive

  869. by our own strength

  870. and our own loves

  871. we're left

  872. fruitless.

  873. Someone once

  874. said that the

  875. loneliest place

  876. in the world

  877. is a human heart

  878. where love is absent.

  879. And there's truth

  880. to that.

  881. But love

  882. is not absent

  883. in God.

  884. It is our nature

  885. to love

  886. to give love

  887. to know love

  888. and we can all

  889. say and agree

  890. together

  891. in one voice

  892. that love

  893. gives us

  894. the greatest joy

  895. in this life

  896. but love

  897. so also

  898. gives us

  899. the sourest

  900. of pains.

  901. Great are the marks

  902. of great love

  903. and great

  904. are the marks

  905. of great love

  906. that is lost.

  907. Love

  908. it leaves

  909. an impression

  910. on us

  911. and while

  912. so sore

  913. and so painful

  914. at times

  915. it still

  916. retains

  917. something

  918. of beauty.

  919. the dictionary

  920. describes love

  921. as something

  922. profoundly tender

  923. and that it is.

  924. John Owen

  925. would say

  926. that love

  927. is a jewel

  928. of human

  929. nature

  930. because it's

  931. well it's a precious

  932. thing.

  933. A jewel

  934. is precious.

  935. It's valuable,

  936. it's beautiful,

  937. it's desirable

  938. but really

  939. the beauty

  940. of the jewel

  941. is only

  942. fully seen

  943. and fully

  944. realised

  945. and put

  946. on display

  947. when it

  948. trusts and

  949. abides in

  950. Christ.

  951. The love

  952. of our nature

  953. is only

  954. fulfilled

  955. and made

  956. joyous

  957. when we

  958. dwell

  959. in Christ

  960. and we

  961. become branches

  962. that please

  963. the vine

  964. dresser.

  965. our love

  966. of itself

  967. fluctuates,

  968. it's not

  969. perfect.

  970. Our love,

  971. what is our

  972. love

  973. in comparison

  974. to the love

  975. present here

  976. in Jesus

  977. Christ?

  978. We think

  979. of the love

  980. of Christ,

  981. we have it

  982. equally

  983. in the love

  984. of God.

  985. We are of

  986. the same

  987. thing

  988. in verse 9,

  989. as the

  990. Father has

  991. loved me

  992. so I

  993. have loved

  994. you and

  995. he calls

  996. us to

  997. abide

  998. in that

  999. love.

  1000. This is

  1001. the greatest

  1002. love we

  1003. can know.

  1004. This is

  1005. the greatest

  1006. love that

  1007. we can

  1008. receive.

  1009. This is

  1010. a love

  1011. that does

  1012. not fluctuate,

  1013. it does

  1014. not move,

  1015. it does

  1016. not change,

  1017. it does

  1018. not decay

  1019. over time.

  1020. Christ's

  1021. love and

  1022. God's

  1023. love are

  1024. firm and

  1025. sure.

  1026. The vine

  1027. Christ is

  1028. loved by

  1029. the vine

  1030. dresser.

  1031. God's

  1032. love is

  1033. continually

  1034. expressed

  1035. towards

  1036. Christ.

  1037. God's

  1038. love is

  1039. eternally

  1040. present

  1041. towards

  1042. Christ.

  1043. God's

  1044. love is

  1045. inexhaustible

  1046. and it

  1047. is a

  1048. love that

  1049. we receive

  1050. through

  1051. Christ.

  1052. And we

  1053. can be

  1054. secure

  1055. and assured

  1056. of that

  1057. love as

  1058. God loves

  1059. his Son.

  1060. love is

  1061. perfected

  1062. because love

  1063. is

  1064. untainted

  1065. in God.

  1066. God's

  1067. love is

  1068. pure.

  1069. We can

  1070. say that

  1071. love is

  1072. fulfilled

  1073. in God

  1074. and Christ.

  1075. Love is

  1076. complete.

  1077. His love

  1078. is the

  1079. greatest

  1080. love and

  1081. really his

  1082. love, it

  1083. is the

  1084. essence of

  1085. what love

  1086. is because

  1087. it is

  1088. full,

  1089. because it

  1090. is

  1091. untainted.

  1092. The

  1093. greatest

  1094. love is

  1095. the love

  1096. of God.

  1097. The

  1098. greatest

  1099. love we

  1100. receive is

  1101. the love

  1102. of God

  1103. through

  1104. Jesus

  1105. Christ.

  1106. Great

  1107. love, it

  1108. is never

  1109. alone.

  1110. It is

  1111. something that

  1112. stimulates

  1113. action.

  1114. Love is

  1115. outworked by

  1116. some means

  1117. and it is a

  1118. great confirmation

  1119. of the love

  1120. within the

  1121. heart when

  1122. you see the

  1123. actions of

  1124. it.

  1125. Jesus is

  1126. not only

  1127. telling his

  1128. disciples about

  1129. the love

  1130. that he has

  1131. for them,

  1132. he is

  1133. preparing them

  1134. and expressing

  1135. them about

  1136. how he will

  1137. show it

  1138. to them.

  1139. Love is

  1140. present and

  1141. abounding in

  1142. Christ,

  1143. but love

  1144. will be

  1145. practiced

  1146. by Christ.

  1147. You see

  1148. there,

  1149. in verse

  1150. 13,

  1151. greater love

  1152. has no

  1153. one than

  1154. this,

  1155. that someone

  1156. lays down

  1157. his life

  1158. for his

  1159. friend.

  1160. Our

  1161. second

  1162. point,

  1163. love

  1164. practiced.

  1165. Christ's

  1166. life is

  1167. a manifestation

  1168. of the

  1169. perfect love

  1170. of God

  1171. and the

  1172. resulting

  1173. actions of

  1174. what you

  1175. see in

  1176. Jesus'

  1177. love.

  1178. You search

  1179. through the

  1180. gospels and

  1181. you see the

  1182. love of Jesus

  1183. Christ coming

  1184. through.

  1185. He cared

  1186. for others,

  1187. he cured

  1188. for others.

  1189. He did

  1190. not revile

  1191. or reject

  1192. others.

  1193. He called

  1194. them to

  1195. come to

  1196. him with

  1197. a loving

  1198. heart.

  1199. He compelled

  1200. them to

  1201. come.

  1202. He

  1203. compassionately

  1204. taught them

  1205. and met

  1206. their need.

  1207. The low

  1208. were not

  1209. too low

  1210. for him,

  1211. the high

  1212. were not

  1213. too high

  1214. for him.

  1215. But here

  1216. in verse

  1217. 13 we have

  1218. an explanation

  1219. of what

  1220. great love

  1221. looks like

  1222. and what

  1223. the greatest

  1224. display of

  1225. love is

  1226. that a man

  1227. would die

  1228. for his

  1229. friends.

  1230. But we are

  1231. mindful as we

  1232. come to this

  1233. that this is

  1234. only a portrayal

  1235. of what great

  1236. love looks

  1237. like.

  1238. In human

  1239. terms it

  1240. is understandable

  1241. that we would

  1242. die for someone

  1243. whom we

  1244. greatly love

  1245. and the

  1246. greatest action

  1247. that we could

  1248. have for that

  1249. person would

  1250. be to die

  1251. for them.

  1252. And if

  1253. someone died

  1254. for us

  1255. out of

  1256. love we

  1257. would be

  1258. left in

  1259. no uncertain

  1260. terms as

  1261. to the

  1262. love that

  1263. that person

  1264. had for

  1265. you.

  1266. He died

  1267. because he

  1268. loved you

  1269. with a

  1270. great love

  1271. and there

  1272. would be no

  1273. doubt about

  1274. it in your

  1275. heart if he

  1276. had died

  1277. for you.

  1278. And others

  1279. would say

  1280. if they

  1281. looked at

  1282. the person

  1283. that died

  1284. they could

  1285. say well

  1286. look how

  1287. much he

  1288. loved you.

  1289. And you

  1290. could say

  1291. yourself

  1292. look how

  1293. much he

  1294. loved me

  1295. because he

  1296. died for me

  1297. and he gave

  1298. his life

  1299. for me.

  1300. Jesus is

  1301. reminding his

  1302. disciples here

  1303. before he

  1304. goes of what

  1305. great love

  1306. looks like

  1307. and what the

  1308. greatest love

  1309. of man

  1310. looks like

  1311. because Christ

  1312. was shortly

  1313. going to die

  1314. for them

  1315. and the

  1316. love of

  1317. Christ

  1318. for his

  1319. friends

  1320. drove him

  1321. to die

  1322. for them.

  1323. This is how

  1324. he would

  1325. show his

  1326. love so

  1327. that they

  1328. would not

  1329. doubt,

  1330. so that they

  1331. would not

  1332. question nor

  1333. wonder whether

  1334. he loved

  1335. them or not.

  1336. Is this the

  1337. greatest display

  1338. of love

  1339. in human

  1340. reasoning?

  1341. Yes,

  1342. that a man

  1343. would die

  1344. for one of

  1345. his friends.

  1346. But is this

  1347. what Christ

  1348. did?

  1349. Well,

  1350. not really.

  1351. You see,

  1352. the love of

  1353. Christ was

  1354. greater and

  1355. more, far

  1356. more abounding

  1357. than the

  1358. greatest of

  1359. man's love.

  1360. The death

  1361. of Christ

  1362. was a

  1363. greater display

  1364. of the

  1365. greatest of

  1366. what man

  1367. could give

  1368. and offer.

  1369. For Christ

  1370. died for

  1371. his friends

  1372. and his

  1373. enemies.

  1374. We see in

  1375. Romans 5,

  1376. it tells us

  1377. that God

  1378. shows his

  1379. love for

  1380. us,

  1381. that while

  1382. we were

  1383. still sinners,

  1384. Christ

  1385. died for

  1386. us.

  1387. He died

  1388. for his

  1389. friends,

  1390. yes.

  1391. He died

  1392. for those

  1393. who loved

  1394. him.

  1395. But he

  1396. died also

  1397. unequally

  1398. for the

  1399. people

  1400. that

  1401. condemned

  1402. him to

  1403. the cross,

  1404. the people

  1405. who spat

  1406. on him,

  1407. the one

  1408. who took

  1409. his name

  1410. in vain,

  1411. the one

  1412. who wanted

  1413. nothing to

  1414. do with

  1415. him,

  1416. the passerby

  1417. who slandered

  1418. him.

  1419. He died

  1420. for the

  1421. sinner.

  1422. He died

  1423. for the

  1424. one that

  1425. does not

  1426. want to

  1427. go to

  1428. church on

  1429. Sunday

  1430. morning,

  1431. nor listen

  1432. to this

  1433. service.

  1434. Christ

  1435. died

  1436. for you.

  1437. And you

  1438. might ask,

  1439. well,

  1440. why did

  1441. Christ

  1442. die for

  1443. me?

  1444. Well,

  1445. it's so

  1446. that you

  1447. may know

  1448. in no

  1449. uncertain

  1450. terms how

  1451. much he

  1452. loves you.

  1453. And that

  1454. I can say

  1455. with confidence

  1456. to you,

  1457. see how

  1458. much Jesus

  1459. loves you.

  1460. And that

  1461. you can

  1462. say in

  1463. your heart,

  1464. see how

  1465. much Jesus

  1466. loves me.

  1467. And we

  1468. can't

  1469. understand

  1470. really

  1471. someone

  1472. dying

  1473. for their

  1474. enemy.

  1475. We

  1476. struggle to

  1477. comprehend

  1478. that someone

  1479. would give

  1480. their lives

  1481. for someone

  1482. they did

  1483. not like,

  1484. someone that

  1485. did not

  1486. love them

  1487. back.

  1488. But such

  1489. was Christ's

  1490. love.

  1491. And so

  1492. far more

  1493. abounding

  1494. than the

  1495. greatest love

  1496. of man,

  1497. that he

  1498. died for

  1499. us while

  1500. we did

  1501. not love

  1502. him.

  1503. And that

  1504. is why the

  1505. cross is so

  1506. treasured by

  1507. Christians.

  1508. When we

  1509. come to that

  1510. place, when we

  1511. view it, when we

  1512. consider what

  1513. Christ has

  1514. done for us,

  1515. what we

  1516. see is the

  1517. greatest love

  1518. perfectly

  1519. practiced.

  1520. We come

  1521. to something

  1522. worthy of

  1523. our time.

  1524. It's the

  1525. greatest display

  1526. of love

  1527. that we

  1528. can know.

  1529. It's a love

  1530. that is beyond

  1531. our understanding

  1532. and beyond the

  1533. loves of this

  1534. world.

  1535. And even

  1536. though it is

  1537. a place of

  1538. pain and

  1539. sorrow,

  1540. it is

  1541. wrapped in

  1542. sweet beauty

  1543. and leaves

  1544. the deepest

  1545. marks

  1546. eternally.

  1547. For the

  1548. love of God

  1549. has not

  1550. died.

  1551. Jesus is

  1552. alive and

  1553. that love

  1554. still lives

  1555. and that

  1556. love is

  1557. still expressed

  1558. to every

  1559. single one

  1560. of us

  1561. today.

  1562. Jesus has

  1563. died for

  1564. you so

  1565. that you

  1566. can say

  1567. in no

  1568. uncertain

  1569. terms that

  1570. he loved

  1571. you.

  1572. If you

  1573. take the

  1574. fact that

  1575. someone dies

  1576. for another,

  1577. if someone

  1578. died for

  1579. you, what

  1580. implications

  1581. do we have

  1582. of that

  1583. action?

  1584. Why die

  1585. for someone

  1586. else?

  1587. For what

  1588. cause would

  1589. you need

  1590. someone to

  1591. die for

  1592. you?

  1593. Well,

  1594. usually it

  1595. is to

  1596. pay

  1597. punishment,

  1598. to pay

  1599. justice.

  1600. he dies

  1601. for you

  1602. so you

  1603. can go

  1604. free.

  1605. It may

  1606. die for

  1607. you to

  1608. rescue you

  1609. so you

  1610. can go

  1611. free.

  1612. By the

  1613. giving of

  1614. his life,

  1615. you may

  1616. continue to

  1617. live.

  1618. You may

  1619. not suffer

  1620. death.

  1621. Jesus is

  1622. the one

  1623. who gives

  1624. his life

  1625. so that we

  1626. can be

  1627. free.

  1628. Jesus is

  1629. the one

  1630. who bore

  1631. our punishment,

  1632. died as a

  1633. ransom for

  1634. many, as

  1635. we were

  1636. teaching the

  1637. children last

  1638. week, so

  1639. that we

  1640. may be

  1641. free.

  1642. This is

  1643. the great

  1644. action of

  1645. Christ's

  1646. love for

  1647. you, and

  1648. it bears

  1649. testimony to

  1650. the love

  1651. of God.

  1652. These

  1653. things are

  1654. not hidden

  1655. from us.

  1656. The

  1657. gospel has

  1658. been revealed

  1659. to every

  1660. single one

  1661. of us.

  1662. The love

  1663. of Jesus

  1664. Christ has

  1665. been shown

  1666. forth on

  1667. the cross,

  1668. that we

  1669. may come

  1670. and receive

  1671. it and

  1672. abide in

  1673. it, so

  1674. that we

  1675. may know

  1676. our purpose

  1677. in this

  1678. life, and

  1679. that we

  1680. may bear

  1681. fruit, and

  1682. that we

  1683. may with

  1684. confidence

  1685. rest and

  1686. remain with

  1687. him, and

  1688. assuredly

  1689. say,

  1690. Jesus loves

  1691. me.

  1692. Some of you

  1693. may be

  1694. sitting and

  1695. listening and

  1696. saying,

  1697. well, how

  1698. does all

  1699. this affect

  1700. me?

  1701. I

  1702. didn't

  1703. choose

  1704. Jesus to

  1705. die for

  1706. me, and

  1707. you're

  1708. right.

  1709. Read

  1710. verse 16

  1711. with me.

  1712. You did

  1713. not choose

  1714. me, but

  1715. I chose

  1716. you, and

  1717. appointed

  1718. you that

  1719. you should

  1720. go and

  1721. bear fruit,

  1722. and that

  1723. your fruit

  1724. should abide.

  1725. We did

  1726. not choose

  1727. God nor

  1728. Christ, but

  1729. he chose

  1730. us.

  1731. And he

  1732. is making

  1733. known these

  1734. things to

  1735. you today,

  1736. even if

  1737. you have

  1738. not chosen

  1739. him.

  1740. He is

  1741. displaying to

  1742. you and

  1743. portraying his

  1744. love for

  1745. you, so

  1746. that you

  1747. may know

  1748. how much

  1749. he loves

  1750. you, that

  1751. you may

  1752. come and

  1753. receive that

  1754. love, so

  1755. that you

  1756. may not be

  1757. a withered

  1758. branch, but

  1759. that you

  1760. may be

  1761. fruitful and

  1762. abounding in

  1763. fruit.

  1764. It is no

  1765. loneliness in

  1766. the love of

  1767. God, but

  1768. his love

  1769. gives us

  1770. the fullness

  1771. of joy, as

  1772. we see in

  1773. verse 11,

  1774. that we

  1775. come and

  1776. abide in

  1777. his love

  1778. with the

  1779. greatest

  1780. confidence,

  1781. growing in

  1782. his strength

  1783. that comes

  1784. to us,

  1785. pleasing to

  1786. God by the

  1787. fruit in

  1788. which we

  1789. bear.

  1790. love.

  1791. Jesus Christ

  1792. loves you

  1793. with an

  1794. everlasting

  1795. love, and

  1796. he has

  1797. chosen you

  1798. today to

  1799. hear these

  1800. things, to

  1801. hear that

  1802. he loves

  1803. you, that

  1804. you may

  1805. come and

  1806. abide with

  1807. him.

  1808. His love

  1809. was practiced

  1810. perfectly, but

  1811. he asks us to

  1812. practice love

  1813. too.

  1814. as the

  1815. love of

  1816. Jesus Christ

  1817. made an

  1818. impression on

  1819. you, have

  1820. you realized

  1821. just how

  1822. much he

  1823. loves you?

  1824. Well, he

  1825. asks us to

  1826. love him in

  1827. return by

  1828. obeying his

  1829. commands.

  1830. Read there

  1831. in verse 12,

  1832. this is my

  1833. commandment, that

  1834. you love one

  1835. another as I

  1836. have loved

  1837. you.

  1838. that we

  1839. in Jesus

  1840. Christ love

  1841. one another

  1842. that is here

  1843. and love the

  1844. world that is

  1845. out with the

  1846. doors of this

  1847. church, that

  1848. we practice the

  1849. love of Christ

  1850. as he did,

  1851. that we look

  1852. at him and

  1853. abide in his

  1854. word and

  1855. learn from him

  1856. and how to

  1857. practice love,

  1858. that we may

  1859. please God

  1860. the Father

  1861. by obeying

  1862. the commandments

  1863. of Christ

  1864. and likewise

  1865. the commandments

  1866. of God.

  1867. What are

  1868. our actions

  1869. of the love

  1870. of Christ?

  1871. How do we

  1872. respond to

  1873. the love of

  1874. Christ?

  1875. It's love

  1876. present in our

  1877. heart.

  1878. We are loved

  1879. with an

  1880. everlasting love,

  1881. a steadfast

  1882. love, an

  1883. eternal love,

  1884. a perfect

  1885. love and it

  1886. is for you to

  1887. hear about it

  1888. today.

  1889. He has

  1890. chosen you

  1891. and therefore

  1892. none of us

  1893. can leave this

  1894. building today

  1895. doubting that

  1896. love.

  1897. We are in no

  1898. uncertain terms

  1899. with doubts

  1900. or questioning

  1901. in our heart

  1902. whether Jesus

  1903. loves you or

  1904. not because

  1905. he gave his

  1906. life for you

  1907. and died for

  1908. you at

  1909. Calvary.

  1910. That is even

  1911. before we

  1912. consider the

  1913. sufferings of

  1914. the cross

  1915. and in such

  1916. a manner

  1917. in which

  1918. he died

  1919. but he

  1920. gave his

  1921. life for

  1922. you.

  1923. Come and

  1924. abide in

  1925. his love,

  1926. grow in

  1927. his grace

  1928. and bear

  1929. fruit to

  1930. the glory

  1931. of God.

  1932. That's what

  1938. May these

  1966. From verse

  1967. 10.

  1968. Because thou

  1969. art exceeding

  1970. great and

  1971. works by

  1972. thee are

  1973. done which

  1974. are to be

  1975. admired and

  1976. thou art

  1977. God thyself

  1978. alone.

  1979. Teach me

  1980. thy way and

  1981. in thy

  1982. truth O

  1983. Lord then

  1984. walk will

  1985. I unite

  1986. my heart

  1987. that I

  1988. thy name

  1989. may fear

  1990. continually.

  1991. O Lord

  1992. my God

  1993. with all

  1994. my heart

  1995. to thee

  1996. I will

  1997. give praise

  1998. and to

  1999. the glory

  2000. will

  2001. ascribe

  2002. unto thy

  2003. name

  2004. always

  2005. because

  2006. thy

  2007. mercy

  2008. toward

  2009. me

  2010. in

  2011. greatness

  2012. doth

  2013. excel

  2014. and

  2015. thou

  2016. delivered

  2017. hast

  2018. my

  2019. soul

  2020. out

  2021. of

  2022. the

  2023. lowest

  2024. hell.

  2025. We'll

  2026. stand

  2027. together

  2028. and sing

  2029. these

  2030. verses

  2031. from

  2032. verse

  2033. 10

  2034. down

  2035. to

  2036. 13

  2037. because

  2038. thou

  2039. art

  2040. exceeding

  2041. great.

  2042. great.

  2043. Because

  2044. thou art

  2045. exceeding

  2046. great

  2047. and works

  2048. by thee

  2049. are done

  2050. which are

  2051. to be

  2052. admired

  2053. and life

  2054. art

  2055. taught

  2056. thyself

  2057. alone.

  2058. Teach me

  2059. thy way

  2060. and turn

  2061. thy truth

  2062. O Lord

  2063. then walk

  2064. will I

  2065. unite

  2066. my heart

  2067. that I

  2068. thy name

  2069. may fear

  2070. continually

  2071. O Lord

  2072. O Lord

  2073. my God

  2074. with all

  2075. my heart

  2076. to thee

  2077. I

  2078. will

  2079. give

  2080. praise

  2081. and

  2082. die

  2083. the glory

  2084. well

  2085. has

  2086. died

  2087. unto

  2093. towards

  2094. me

  2095. in

  2096. greatness

  2097. doth

  2098. excel

  2099. and

  2100. thou

  2101. deliver

  2102. deliver

  2103. touch

  2104. my

  2105. soul

  2106. I

  2107. call

  2108. the

  2109. lowest

  2110. hell

  2111. conclude

  2112. in prayer

  2113. as we park

  2114. our loving

  2115. heavenly

  2116. father

  2117. may we

  2118. realise

  2119. your love

  2120. as we gather

  2121. in your presence

  2122. this day

  2123. and may we

  2124. leave

  2125. abiding

  2126. and trusting

  2127. in that love

  2128. may your

  2129. grace

  2130. may

  2131. by abiding

  2132. in your

  2133. grace

  2134. may we

  2135. grow

  2136. the fruit

  2137. to the

  2138. glory

  2139. of God

  2140. and all

  2141. things

  2142. as we

  2143. live

  2144. our lives

  2145. sets

  2146. forth

  2147. love

  2148. as our

  2149. direction

  2150. and to

  2151. give

  2152. that glory

  2153. and return

  2154. to God

  2155. be with us

  2156. as we

  2157. part

  2158. which over

  2159. us

  2160. in the

  2161. evening

  2162. hours

  2163. and evening

  2164. services

  2165. may it

  2166. be a blessing

  2167. to our

  2168. hearts

  2169. and souls

  2170. forgive us

  2171. our sins

  2172. in Jesus

  2173. name

  2174. Amen
