  1. We'll begin our worship this morning by singing to God's praise. We're going to sing in Psalm 25, the first version of the psalm,

  2. in the Scottish Psalter, Psalm 25,

  3. page 231.

  4. The tune is Dennis. We're going to sing from verse 1 down to verse 6.

  5. To thee I lift my soul, O Lord, I trust in thee.

  6. My God, let me not be ashamed, nor foes triumph for me.

  7. Let none that wait on thee be put to shame at all, but those that without cause transgress, let shame upon them fall.

  8. We'll sing from verse 1 to 6 to God's praise.

  9. To thee I lift my soul, O Lord, I trust in thee.

  10. Let thou that wait on thee.

  11. Let thou that wait on thee.

  12. My God, let me not be ashamed, nor boast high of glory.

  13. Let the man that wait on me be put to shame and all.

  14. And those that will and cause transgress, let shame upon them all.

  15. O me, my grace, O Lord, my past, O tree, shall we?

  16. And do thou read me in my truth, then my teacher be.

  17. For thou art God, let us to meet salvation, strength.

  18. And die upon thee, O Lord, my best, O Lord.

  19. Amen.

  20. Let us bow our heads in a word of prayer.

  21. Let us pray.

  22. Our Father in heaven, as we gather in your name this day, as we come praising you, as we come offering up praise to you in song,

  23. as we come looking to you in prayer, as we come seeking to hear from you in your word.

  24. We thank you that you are a God who has remembered us, that you have remembered us in such a special and a significant way,

  25. that you have sent salvation to us as we have sung.

  26. We thank you that we come in the name of Jesus today, that we come looking to him to be Lord and God of all,

  27. and Lord and God for us, that we would come looking to him to trust in him with all our heart, with all our soul,

  28. and to love you as we should.

  29. And we pray and thank you, Lord, for your word that instructs us, that helps us.

  30. Your word teaches us day by day.

  31. And we thank you that all of us together here, from youngest to oldest, hears from your word and help us to learn,

  32. help us to hear what you are saying to us.

  33. And as we come to the end of this year, as we come to the last day of the year,

  34. we thank you for all your goodness to us in so many ways over this year.

  35. Through all the ups and downs of life, Lord, you are faithful.

  36. You are our constant companion.

  37. And we pray, Lord, that as we look, God, willing to a new year,

  38. that we will put our hand in yours and walk with you and trust in you with all our hearts.

  39. May you guide us and help us along every step of the way.

  40. So, Lord, be near to us as we worship you this day.

  41. And in all our homes and our families, Lord, we ask your blessing, your help, your strength in all the different needs that we have.

  42. We thank you, Lord, for a time of holiday.

  43. We thank you for many families being together, both here and maybe some away as well.

  44. We thank you for these times that we are able to share together and to be able to share it around your word today as well is a real blessing to us.

  45. So, Lord, we thank you for everyone here, everyone visiting with us, everyone tuning in online as well, wherever they may be, Lord,

  46. that you will surround us all with your love and with your grace.

  47. We thank you for your faithfulness, Lord, and help us that we may be faithful to you in all that we do, in all that we say,

  48. and in all that we do in the days ahead as well, Lord.

  49. May we know your goodness with us and your mercy upon us.

  50. So, Lord, hear our prayers and pardon all our sin as we ask all these things in Jesus' name.

  51. Amen.

  52. Before some of the younger ones go out, I'll just share a word with you.

  53. We're thinking today in our service about what it means to walk with God,

  54. to go on looking to him and trusting in him every day of our lives.

  55. And I hope you've had a good week this week.

  56. I hope you've been enjoying your holiday and enjoy the last few days of it.

  57. And today is the last day of 2023.

  58. Tomorrow, all being well, we'll be into 2024.

  59. Another year has gone by.

  60. And when you think about a year and you think about it in terms of numbers,

  61. there's so many numbers that you can think about in a year.

  62. You think about it as one year.

  63. And it sounds quite small in some ways.

  64. One year has passed.

  65. Or we think about it in another way.

  66. We think about it in terms of months.

  67. And we have 12 months in the year.

  68. And everybody in that period of time,

  69. I'm sure everybody's had a birthday or other different occasions over these months.

  70. Then you think about it in terms of weeks.

  71. How many weeks are there in a year?

  72. We've got 52 weeks in the year.

  73. Then you can break it into days.

  74. And how many days there are in a year?

  75. 365 days in the year.

  76. So the numbers are getting bigger.

  77. And then you start thinking,

  78. well, I've got 365 days.

  79. Every day's got hours.

  80. So how many hours are there in a year?

  81. Now the numbers are starting to get quite big.

  82. 8,760 hours in a year.

  83. Now we're going to go one more.

  84. What about number of minutes in the year?

  85. A lot higher than 8,000.

  86. How many minutes are in a year?

  87. 525,600 minutes in a year.

  88. Now we're not going to go to seconds

  89. because that will just be getting a really big, big, huge number.

  90. But you just think about all these numbers that we have.

  91. From one year down to 525,600 minutes.

  92. And you break it all down into that.

  93. And the question is this.

  94. What have we done with our time?

  95. In Ephesians, the letter of the Ephesians,

  96. in the New Testament, in chapter 5 and verse 15,

  97. it says,

  98. Look carefully then how you walk,

  99. not as unwise but as wise,

  100. making the best use of the time.

  101. It's talking there about walking.

  102. How are we walking with God?

  103. Are we making the best use of our time?

  104. All of the last year,

  105. and as we look ahead to another year to come,

  106. God willing,

  107. as we look back over 12 months,

  108. as we look back over 52 weeks,

  109. as we look back over 365 days,

  110. as we look back over all these numbers,

  111. and we think of them,

  112. yes, some of them are just small numbers,

  113. but we ask ourselves,

  114. have we lived every minute trusting in God?

  115. Have we lived 525,600 minutes trusting in God

  116. with all our hearts?

  117. And is that what we will do

  118. as we go into a new year?

  119. If we haven't already done so,

  120. are we going to make the best use of the time?

  121. Walking with God,

  122. not as unwise,

  123. which means we're doing silly things with our time,

  124. stupid things with our time,

  125. but as wise.

  126. Wise people,

  127. making the best use of our time

  128. every minute that we have.

  129. We often say time is precious,

  130. and we are to spend it in the right way.

  131. It means looking out for others,

  132. helping others,

  133. living our lives in a good way,

  134. but above all,

  135. it means trusting God

  136. every minute,

  137. every second of every day,

  138. that we will walk with Him

  139. and trust in Him.

  140. So may God bless these thoughts to us

  141. and be with us all

  142. as we look ahead to a new year.

  143. We're going to say now

  144. the Lord's Prayer together.

  145. Amen.

  146. Our Father,

  147. which art in heaven,

  148. hallowed be thy name.

  149. Thy kingdom come.

  150. Thy will be done on earth

  151. as it is in heaven.

  152. Give us this day our daily bread,

  153. and forgive us our debts

  154. as we forgive our debtors.

  155. And lead us not into temptation,

  156. but deliver us from evil.

  157. For thine is the kingdom,

  158. the power,

  159. and the glory forever.

  160. Amen.

  161. Amen.

  162. We're going to sing again

  163. to God's praise,

  164. this time in Psalm 57,

  165. in the Sing Psalms version.

  166. Find us on page 74

  167. of the Psalm books.

  168. Psalm 57.

  169. We're going to sing

  170. from verse 1 to verse 5.

  171. The tune is Selma.

  172. Have mercy on me, Lord,

  173. to you my soul holds fast.

  174. Your covering wings will shelter me

  175. until the dangers pass.

  176. I cry to God,

  177. most high,

  178. to God who answers me,

  179. for he fulfills his purposes

  180. for me most perfectly.

  181. We'll sing from verse 1 to verse 5

  182. to God's praise.

  183. God's praise.

  184. Let's amen.

  185. Let's pray.

  186. د hands

  187. I cry to God most high, to God who answers me.

  188. For he fulfills his purposes, for he moves perfectly.

  189. He sends his help from her, and saves me all my love.

  190. Reveal me close to see my life, God sends this truth and love.

  191. I live with savage peace, I dwell with high up strong.

  192. With man who speak, with piercing words, a sharp sword is their tongue.

  193. Above the highest head, O God, exalted thee,

  194. And O God, on the earth below, display your majesty.

  195. We'll turn together to read in God's word now in the Old Testament, in the book of Micah.

  196. Micah, we're going to read in chapter 6.

  197. Micah chapter 6, you'll find it around page 942, towards the end of the Old Testament.

    Micah 6 chapter mention

  198. Micah chapter 6, and we can read the whole of this chapter together.

    Micah 6 chapter mention

  199. Micah chapter 6, from the beginning.

    Micah 6 chapter mention

  200. Hear what the Lord says.

  201. O my people, what have I done to you?

  202. How have I wearied you?

  203. Answer me.

  204. For I brought you up from the land of Egypt, and redeemed you from the house of slavery.

  205. And I sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.

  206. O my people, remember what Balak, king of Moab, devised,

  207. And what Balaam, the son of Baor, answered him,

  208. And what happened from Shittim to Gilgal,

  209. That you may know the saving acts of the Lord.

  210. With what shall I come before the Lord,

  211. And bow myself before God on high?

  212. Shall I come before him with burnt offerings,

  213. With calves a year old?

  214. Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams,

  215. With ten thousands of rivers of oil?

  216. Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression,

  217. The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

  218. He has told you, O man, what is good,

  219. And what does the Lord require of you,

  220. But to do justice, and to love kindness,

  221. And to walk humbly with your God.

  222. The voice of the Lord cries to the city,

  223. And it is sound wisdom to fear your name.

  224. Hear of the rod and of him who appointed it.

  225. Can I forget any longer the treasures of wickedness

  226. In the house of the wicked,

  227. And the scant measure that is accursed?

  228. Shall I acquit the man with wicked scales,

  229. And with a bag of deceitful weights?

  230. Your rich men are full of violence,

  231. Your inhabitants speak lies,

  232. And their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.

  233. Therefore I strike you with a grievous blow,

  234. Making you desolate because of your sins.

  235. You shall eat, but not be satisfied,

  236. And there shall be hunger within you.

  237. You shall put away, but not preserve,

  238. And what you preserve I will give to the sword.

  239. You shall sow, but not reap.

  240. You shall tread olives,

  241. But not anoint yourselves with oil.

  242. You shall tread grapes, but not drink wine.

  243. For you have kept the statutes of Omri,

  244. And all the works of the house of Ahab,

  245. And you have walked in their councils,

  246. That I may make you a desolation,

  247. And your inhabitants a hissing.

  248. So you shall bear the scorn of my people.

  249. And so on.

  250. And may God bless to us that reading of his word.

  251. Let's again turn to God in prayer.

  252. Let us pray.

  253. Amen.

  254. Our Father in heaven,

  255. As often as we read of your blessings in your word,

  256. The many great and wonderful promises

  257. That you have given to us,

  258. That are all fulfilled in your Son,

  259. Christ Jesus our Lord.

  260. We recognize and give thanks, Lord,

  261. For every one of them,

  262. That are precious to us as a people.

  263. And yet, O Lord,

  264. As we read your word as well,

  265. In the fullness of it,

  266. We see the many promises,

  267. But also the many challenges,

  268. And rebukes that there are for us.

  269. The many truths that they are reminding us

  270. Of the consequence of sin.

  271. The many truths that remind us of what it means,

  272. What it entails not to listen to you

  273. As you speak to us.

  274. And as we have read in your word together just now,

  275. We see so many of these things.

  276. We see the challenges and the rebukes to your people.

  277. But we thank you that in the midst of them,

  278. We read too of your great love towards us as a people.

  279. That you know our sins,

  280. You know our helplessness,

  281. You know how we cannot do anything for ourselves

  282. Because our hearts are so inclined to wander away from you.

  283. We are pulled in so many different directions.

  284. We are pulled so easily away from your truth and from your ways.

  285. The things that appeal to us in this world, O Lord,

  286. Can so easily take over our hearts.

  287. But help us, Lord, to find mercy with you.

  288. Help us to find renewal with you.

  289. Help us to repent as your word calls us to.

  290. Help us to turn away from our sin

  291. And to seek to walk humbly with the Lord.

  292. For we thank you for your steadfast love,

  293. Your covenant love,

  294. Through which we are blessed and blessed abundantly.

  295. That you are a God who loves steadfast love.

  296. That you are a God who desires it for all people.

  297. And yet so quickly, Lord, we turn away.

  298. And so help us, Lord,

  299. Even as we reflect at the end of this year.

  300. As we look back and

  301. As we are maybe reminded of the many ways in which your promises have blessed us and helped us

  302. Throughout so many different situations.

  303. We thank you that we can look back and see your faithfulness to us in so many ways.

  304. The way that you have kept us, sustained us, watched over us.

  305. The way that you have provided for us.

  306. In the simplest of ways, Lord, that we so often forget.

  307. Whether it's the air that we breathe, the water that we drink.

  308. The simple things in life that we see as attained by ourselves.

  309. And yet your word reminds us that every good and perfect gift is from above.

  310. From the one who changes not.

  311. And so, Lord, humble us before you today.

  312. That we might walk rightly with you.

  313. That we would seek your face.

  314. That we would come, O Lord, with much to give thanks for.

  315. And that we would praise your name.

  316. That we would also come, O Lord, confessing our sin.

  317. Our sin of forgetfulness.

  318. Our sin of turning away from you.

  319. Our sin of not leaning on your word or trusting in it.

  320. And also, Lord, in the many things that go on in our lives.

  321. When we are challenged.

  322. When we are finding the way tough.

  323. We thank you that we can come, O Lord, and cast our cares upon you.

  324. And help us to do so for ourselves and for others around us.

  325. For our communities.

  326. For our nation.

  327. For our world.

  328. We thank you that you are a God who hears and answers prayer.

  329. And every one of which we have seen answer to in this past year.

  330. We give you thanks.

  331. For every prayer offered up that we wait upon.

  332. Still wait upon.

  333. We pray for patience to wait.

  334. For every prayer that we offered up, Lord.

  335. Not according to your will.

  336. But for our own selfish hearts.

  337. We ask forgiveness.

  338. And we pray, Lord, that you will be the one that guides us in the days ahead.

  339. That as we go into a new year, God willing.

  340. We would know your presence with us.

  341. We would know you going before us in all things.

  342. Directing our paths.

  343. Helping us to walk closely with you.

  344. We pray that, Lord, for our nation as a whole.

  345. When we think of our rulers and all who govern us in so many different ways.

  346. We think of our king and his family, Lord.

  347. We pray your blessing on them.

  348. We pray, Lord, for them all to come to see the light of the glory of Jesus Christ.

  349. We pray for them to come to know what it is to fully believe in God.

  350. And the fact that you sent your son as a savior for this world.

  351. That they would come to believe in the power of the Holy Spirit.

  352. The one who is there for us.

  353. Lord, help them.

  354. We pray in all their own needs as well, Lord.

  355. We pray above all for their souls, O Lord.

  356. That you will bless them richly.

  357. That you will bring them to know and to rule according to your word and to your truth.

  358. We pray that also for our governments.

  359. For Westminster.

  360. For Holyrood.

  361. For Prime Minister and First Minister.

  362. Lord, again, that their hearts will be turned to you.

  363. That they would come to know the glory of God.

  364. That they would come to know the wonder of your grace.

  365. And the power of your word.

  366. The power of prayer.

  367. And that righteousness exalts our nation.

  368. We pray, Lord, for the year ahead to be seeing your glory in our land.

  369. To be seeing your power at work.

  370. To be seeing people turn to you in great numbers.

  371. And people coming to know and believe in the Lord Jesus.

  372. We pray these things so often, Lord.

  373. Maybe just asking as a token gesture.

  374. Not really believing it's possible.

  375. But we thank you that your word reminds us of how quickly you can turn a people.

  376. Turn a nation.

  377. Turn a world to yourself.

  378. And we pray, Lord, that you will come in your power.

  379. That you will hear your praying people throughout the world today.

  380. Far and wide.

  381. That you will look down upon us.

  382. That you will remember those in need in all corners of the earth.

  383. The persecuted church.

  384. Those who suffer for your name.

  385. Those who are suffering in the midst of conflict and wars just now.

  386. Those who suffer in so many different ways.

  387. Through rulers oppressing a people.

  388. Keeping things for themselves when a people are in need.

  389. And we, oh Lord, pray for mercy.

  390. And your goodness to be poured out upon us.

  391. We thank you, Lord, that you remember us.

  392. That you know us in every need that we have.

  393. That you know our names.

  394. That you know us in all our personal needs, our innermost thoughts.

  395. And we come, oh Lord, pleading with you to remember our people here.

  396. To remember our homes.

  397. And our families and our communities at this time.

  398. Remember those in sorrow and sadness.

  399. Remember those who are anxious over loved ones.

  400. Remember those who are unwell.

  401. In whatever situation that may be.

  402. Physically or mentally or spiritually.

  403. Oh Lord, we know that the battles in this world are so many.

  404. And so varied.

  405. But we thank you that we have a God who is able.

  406. A God who is able to help and do abundantly more than all that we ask or imagine.

  407. And so we pray, Lord, to draw near to us.

  408. And to help us to draw near to you.

  409. That every day of a year to come.

  410. Every week.

  411. Every hour.

  412. Every second even.

  413. That we would live for the Lord.

  414. That we would seek to trust in you.

  415. And to walk closely with you.

  416. Lord, bless us, we pray.

  417. From our youngest to our oldest.

  418. That you would be with us in all that we seek to do in your name.

  419. In families and communities.

  420. In all our island communities here, Lord.

  421. We pray for your goodness and mercy to be with us.

  422. To pour out your spirit upon us.

  423. To revive us as a people.

  424. And to do us good.

  425. Lord, help us, we pray.

  426. And all we ask, we ask.

  427. Knowing our own frailties and weakness.

  428. But thankful, Lord, for your goodness towards us.

  429. Your strength.

  430. Your grace that is always sufficient.

  431. And we pray.

  432. Pleading in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

  433. The name above every name.

  434. The name before whom we must all come and give an account.

  435. On that day of judgment.

  436. And we pray, Lord.

  437. Help us to be prepared for that day.

  438. To be ready for it.

  439. To be trusting in you.

  440. Recognizing that there will be no injury time when it comes to that.

  441. There will be no second chances.

  442. There will be no time to make amends when the Lord comes.

  443. Our day is now.

  444. Our time is now.

  445. And we pray, Lord, that you will help us in this day.

  446. To hear your voice speaking to us.

  447. Give us ears to hear then.

  448. And go with us, we pray.

  449. Pardoning all our sin as we ask it all in Jesus' name.

  450. Amen.

  451. Amen.

  452. We're going to sing again to God's praise before we turn back to look at the passage in Micah and Psalm 39.

  453. Psalm 39, we'll sing from verse 7.

  454. Page 258 of the Psalm book.

  455. Psalm 39 at verse 7.

  456. And now, O Lord, what wait I for.

  457. My hope is fixed on thee.

  458. Free me from all my trespasses.

  459. The fool's scorn make not me.

  460. We'll sing from verse 7 to 13.

  461. And the tune is, Wetherby.

  462. Amen.

  463. The fool's scorn make not me.

  464. The fool's scorn make not me.

  465. The fool's scorn make not me.

  466. The fool's scorn make not me.

  467. Because this world was nigh.

  468. Thy soul's scorn make not me.

  469. The fool's scorn make not me.

  470. Of thy hand I do hide.

  471. When with refuse thou dost glory,

  472. Man for iniquity.

  473. The fool's scorn make not me.

  474. The fool's scorn make not me.

  475. The fool's scorn make not me.

  476. The fool's scorn make not me.

  477. The fool's scorn make not me.

  478. But then, my cry, Lord, that my tears

  479. And there's the silent beat

  480. I soldier not

  481. My father's all

  482. And Savior come with me

  483. O say by me

  484. That I my strength

  485. Recover me again

  486. Before progress

  487. I do depart

  488. And here

  489. No more

  490. Reveal

  491. Let's turn back to our reading in Micah chapter 6

    Micah 6 chapter mention

  492. We can read again at verse 8

  493. We're going to look really at verse 1 through to verse 8

  494. Micah 6 at verse 8

  495. He has told you, O man, what is good

  496. And what does the Lord require of you

  497. But to do justice

  498. And to love kindness

  499. And to walk humbly

  500. With your God

  501. To do justice

  502. And to love

  503. Steadfast love

  504. You could say there

  505. And to walk humbly

  506. With your God

  507. As we think of coming

  508. To the end of a year

  509. As we've thought about

  510. Our time in that sense

  511. Of the year gone past

  512. And what we've done

  513. With our time

  514. Has it been a year

  515. That we have been walking

  516. Humbly with the Lord

  517. Or is it something

  518. That we have to reflect on

  519. And think about

  520. How we could be better

  521. In that sense

  522. Of walking

  523. Humbly with the Lord

  524. Have we lost our focus

  525. From him

  526. As we look at the book of Micah

  527. It's a book that's

  528. Full of this challenge

  529. Both in the sense of

  530. Yes, in many ways

  531. Things are going well

  532. The people are getting on

  533. Okay

  534. But they're losing sight

  535. Of God

  536. And that always has

  537. Consequences

  538. And Micah comes to them

  539. With a word

  540. With a rebuke

  541. With a challenge

  542. And to walk humbly

  543. With your God

  544. You imagine going

  545. Into your workplace

  546. And you're going in

  547. Expecting that your boss

  548. Will give you the jobs

  549. For that day

  550. But instead

  551. They say to you

  552. I'm sure you've

  553. Got enough

  554. To catch up on yourself

  555. I know you've just

  556. Been on holiday

  557. You're coming back

  558. After your Christmas

  559. And New Year break

  560. But you've probably

  561. Got things that you

  562. Would like to do yourself

  563. Things you want to get

  564. Back on top of

  565. So just take the day

  566. To yourself

  567. You're probably thinking

  568. Well

  569. My job must be at risk

  570. Or something

  571. There's something

  572. Just not right here

  573. Maybe he's not going

  574. Not going to get paid

  575. For this day's work

  576. So you ask that question

  577. What about my pay?

  578. And they say

  579. Don't worry

  580. You'll still get paid

  581. But just go

  582. And do your own thing

  583. I'm sure you'll be surprised

  584. If any boss

  585. Would say that to you

  586. Because you go to work

  587. Expecting

  588. To do a job

  589. Likewise

  590. You wouldn't go into work

  591. And just say to your boss

  592. Look I can't do the work

  593. That you're paying me for today

  594. I've got so many things

  595. I've got to do for myself

  596. I'm going to go and do that

  597. But you're going to still pay me

  598. My wage at the end of the week

  599. You wouldn't go in doing that

  600. Because if you did

  601. You would probably expect

  602. To be sacked

  603. But what is our relationship

  604. With God like

  605. In this way?

  606. How are we living

  607. With God?

  608. Do we treat God

  609. With a selfish

  610. Kind of attitude?

  611. Where we come to God

  612. And say to him

  613. I'm going to do my own thing

  614. I'm going to live as I want

  615. But at the end of the day

  616. You're going to give me

  617. The goodness

  618. Of your heart

  619. You're going to give me

  620. All the good things

  621. That you promise

  622. In your word

  623. But I'm still going to

  624. Just go and do

  625. My own thing

  626. That is how we

  627. So often end up living

  628. We want to do

  629. Our own thing

  630. And we want to do it

  631. In our way

  632. But we want the blessings

  633. Of God too

  634. And as you look through Micah

  635. That's the very situation

  636. You find

  637. They were doing

  638. Anything they wanted

  639. To please themselves

  640. But still expecting

  641. To God

  642. God to be on demand

  643. As well

  644. When he was needed

  645. They'd call

  646. And they would expect him

  647. To give them

  648. Exactly what they wanted

  649. And that's why God

  650. Sent Micah

  651. He sent Micah to them

  652. To show them

  653. The error of their ways

  654. To show them

  655. Where they were going wrong

  656. How they're turning

  657. Away from God

  658. And expecting just God

  659. To do as they wanted

  660. When they wanted

  661. This was going to have

  662. Consequences

  663. Consequences

  664. That without their way

  665. Being changed

  666. Would lead them down

  667. A path

  668. That was not good

  669. The relationship

  670. With God

  671. Was breaking up

  672. The steadfast love

  673. That they had enjoyed

  674. From God

  675. So much

  676. And that the goodness

  677. Of God

  678. As we read through

  679. Here of what he'd done

  680. For them

  681. They were forgetting

  682. And just turning

  683. Away from

  684. When you see

  685. The setting of Micah

  686. And the kind of situation

  687. He's writing into you

  688. Begin to realise

  689. How similar it is

  690. To our own day

  691. You read through Micah

  692. And you see

  693. Turning away from God

  694. Leads us to turn

  695. To other things

  696. To pleasing ourselves

  697. To getting our own gain

  698. And there's probably

  699. Four different ways

  700. That you could see it

  701. When you read through Micah

  702. You read in chapter 3

  703. Verse 11

  704. Something that was happening

  705. There was bribery

  706. There was bribery

  707. Going on

  708. In verse 11 of chapter 3

  709. Its heads give judgment

  710. For a bribe

  711. Its priests teach for a price

  712. Its prophets practice divination

  713. For money

  714. Yet they lean on the Lord

  715. And say

  716. It's not the Lord

  717. In the midst of us

  718. No disaster

  719. Shall come upon us

  720. It's this situation

  721. Of bribery going on

  722. Just you tell us

  723. What will please us

  724. And we'll give you money

  725. For it

  726. But if God is not happy

  727. You can bring God into it

  728. And give him a token gesture

  729. So that he will bless us

  730. And isn't that how

  731. Our nation seems to operate

  732. So much now

  733. We bring God in

  734. Just for the essentials

  735. From time to time

  736. But we want to continue

  737. And live our lives

  738. In our own way

  739. Turning away from God's word

  740. Rejecting God's word

  741. But in the midst of disaster

  742. We'll come and say

  743. Oh but God help us

  744. It doesn't work

  745. You see there was violence

  746. In Micah's day as well

  747. Micah chapter 2 verse 8

    Micah 2:8

  748. But lately my people

  749. Have risen up as an enemy

  750. You stripped the rich robe

  751. From those who passed by

  752. Trustingly

  753. With no thought of war

  754. There was this violence

  755. Going on for self gain

  756. Again you look at our world today

  757. Such a similar situation

  758. Corruption was there as well

  759. Similar to bribery

  760. But slightly different

  761. Micah 6 verse 11

    Micah 6:11

  762. Which we read

  763. Shall I acquit a man

  764. With wicked scales

  765. And with a bag of deceitful weights

  766. Corruption going on

  767. And you see too

  768. In chapter 7

  769. There's a sense of community

  770. Breakdown too

  771. In verse 5 and 6

  772. Of chapter 7

  773. Put no trust in a neighbor

  774. Have no confidence in a friend

  775. Guard the doors of your mouth

  776. From her who lies in your arms

  777. For the son treats the father

  778. With contempt

  779. The daughter rises up

  780. Against her mother

  781. There's community and family

  782. Breakdown to the fore here as well

  783. Again it's the same kinds of things

  784. That we see in our own society today

  785. All these things are so prominent

  786. In our life

  787. And what is behind it all

  788. We fail to acknowledge

  789. We fail to look at

  790. Is abandoning God

  791. And turning her back on God

  792. There are consequences

  793. To doing that

  794. In Micah's day

  795. And in our own day

  796. And yet God still comes in

  797. God still speaks to a nation here

  798. And to a nation ourselves

  799. To a people ourselves

  800. And he calls his people

  801. To repentance

  802. What remains constant

  803. Throughout Micah's day

  804. And our day

  805. And every generation

  806. Is the need of repentance

  807. And the offer of salvation

  808. From the Lord

  809. In Micah chapter 7

    Micah 7:18

  810. Verse 18

  811. You read there

  812. Who is a God like you

  813. Pardoning iniquity

  814. And passing over transgression

  815. For the remnant of his inheritance

  816. He does not retain his anger forever

  817. But he delights

  818. In steadfast love

  819. He delights

  820. In his covenant love

  821. In his faithfulness

  822. Towards his people

  823. And that is what Micah

  824. Is calling us to

  825. In this section

  826. Just as the Lord

  827. Loves

  828. Steadfast love

  829. So in verse 8

  830. We are being called

  831. To God

  832. He has told us

  833. What is good

  834. What he requires of you

  835. To do justice

  836. To love

  837. Steadfast love

  838. And to walk humbly

  839. With your God

  840. It is there

  841. Before us

  842. And the question is

  843. What are we doing

  844. With it

  845. Somebody once

  846. Put it like this

  847. The same old story

  848. Which is what we see

  849. And look at here

  850. The same old story

  851. Of all that is wrong

  852. With our world

  853. He said

  854. It needs

  855. The same old story

  856. The same old story

  857. Needs

  858. The same old story

  859. The same old story

  860. Of corruption

  861. And bribery

  862. Turning away from God

  863. Needs the same old story

  864. Of the steadfast love

  865. Of God

  866. It needs

  867. The gospel

  868. And that is what

  869. We all need

  870. As we come to the end

  871. Of a year

  872. Going to a new year

  873. God willing

  874. The gospel

  875. The goodness of God

  876. With us

  877. And to walk humbly

  878. With our God

  879. And there's three things

  880. That we learn here

  881. Of what we need

  882. To walk humbly

  883. With God

  884. And the first is this

  885. We see it in verse 1 and 2

  886. Hear the Lord

  887. Hear the Lord

  888. If we're not listening to God

  889. If we're not hearing God

  890. It is impossible

  891. To walk humbly

  892. With God

  893. Because if we're not

  894. Listening to God

  895. We're listening to ourselves

  896. Or to everything else

  897. That this world

  898. Will throw our way

  899. And we're turning away

  900. From God

  901. And so

  902. Micah's role

  903. If you like

  904. As a prophet

  905. Was to bring

  906. The word of God

  907. That the people

  908. Would hear

  909. And listen

  910. To the word of God

  911. There were these

  912. False prophets

  913. Who were coming

  914. They were taking a bribe

  915. They'd tell the people

  916. Whatever they wanted

  917. To hear

  918. Not what God

  919. Was saying to them

  920. But whatever they wanted

  921. To hear

  922. Just carry on as you are

  923. Do as you please

  924. Do what you want

  925. But God will still

  926. Be there for you

  927. But Micah

  928. He comes

  929. With the truth

  930. In verse 1

  931. And verse 2

  932. You see

  933. It says

  934. Hear what the Lord

  935. Says

  936. Hear what the Lord

  937. Says

  938. Hear you mountains

  939. The indictment

  940. Of the Lord

  941. God is speaking

  942. And he is speaking

  943. Powerfully here

  944. To the people

  945. And they need

  946. To listen

  947. And how much

  948. Has the Lord

  949. Been speaking to us

  950. All through our days

  951. All our lives

  952. All our years

  953. All our weeks

  954. All our months

  955. All our hours

  956. Every second of the day

  957. God is speaking

  958. To us

  959. Through everything

  960. That goes on

  961. In our own lives

  962. Our lives around us

  963. The world around us

  964. God is speaking

  965. And yet

  966. What had happened

  967. To the people

  968. In Micah's days

  969. The same as is

  970. Happening to ourselves

  971. Today

  972. People are growing

  973. Tired of listening

  974. To God

  975. They are growing

  976. Tired of hearing

  977. What God is saying

  978. And they are

  979. Turning away

  980. And Micah is saying

  981. There are consequences

  982. If you do

  983. What you need to do

  984. Is hear

  985. What he is saying

  986. To you

  987. Have you ever had

  988. Someone

  989. Who has always

  990. Got advice

  991. To offer

  992. It doesn't matter

  993. What you are doing

  994. It might be just

  995. A little job

  996. Around the house

  997. You might be working

  998. With this person

  999. But they have always

1000. Got a bit of advice

  1001. To give as to

1002. How it should be done

1003. Or to do it like this

  1004. Instead of like that

1005. And if this is going on

  1006. All the time

  1007. You can become

  1008. Tired of hearing it

  1009. You become frustrated

  1010. With hearing it

  1011. You don't want to

  1012. Hear it anymore

  1013. And yet

  1014. When we are hearing

  1015. God speaking to us

  1016. It is so often

1017. The way we can be

  1018. God

  1019. Why do you keep

  1020. Saying that I am a sinner

  1021. God

  1022. Why do you keep

1023. Telling me that I need

  1024. To repent

  1025. And turn and live

1026. My life in a particular way

1027. Can I not do it

  1028. My own way

  1029. And it tires us

  1030. It wearies us

1031. It is a recurring problem

  1032. Throughout the scriptures

  1033. From the old

  1034. Into the new testament

  1035. You find a people

  1036. Who become weary

  1037. With God

  1038. Although he is offering

  1039. His steadfast love

  1040. His salvation

  1041. His redemption

  1042. People just reject it

1043. And turn away from it

1044. We will do it our way

1045. We will go our own path

1046. We will walk our own way

  1047. Not humbly before God

  1048. But proudly before others

  1049. We will show them

  1050. How it is done

1051. But it will not end well

  1052. And so

  1053. The word of God

  1054. Is telling us

  1055. To listen

1056. To hear what he is saying

1057. Not to tire of it

  1058. But to love it

  1059. To love the fact

  1060. That God speaks

  1061. To love the fact

  1062. That God

  1063. Longs for goodness

  1064. For his people

  1065. To love the fact

  1066. That we have

  1067. A great story

  1068. To hear

  1069. Not to tire

  1070. Of it

  1071. There was a woman

  1072. Called Catherine Hankey

  1073. And she was born

  1074. In London

  1075. In 1834

  1076. And born into

  1077. A very wealthy family

  1078. But she came

  1079. To love the Lord

  1080. And serve the Lord

  1081. From her young age

  1082. She was very young

  1083. When she became

  1084. A Christian

1085. And she had a real

  1086. Love for God

1087. And a love for sharing

  1088. His word with others

  1089. And when she was

  1090. Just a teenager

  1091. She began

  1092. A Bible class

  1093. For girls

  1094. In her neighborhood

  1095. In her late teens

  1096. She began organizing

  1097. Sunday schools

  1098. Around different parts

  1099. Of London

  1100. For girls

  1101. In her late teens

  1102. As well

1103. And she used to love

  1104. Just serving the Lord

  1105. She used to publish

  1106. Poems and tracts

  1107. To share with others

  1108. She was always busy

  1109. With the Lord

1110. But then when she was

  1111. In her thirties

  1112. She became seriously ill

  1113. And she was ill

  1114. For quite a long

  1115. Period of time

  1116. And she realized

  1117. During that time

1118. That in all the busyness

1119. Of what she'd been doing

  1120. She had become

  1121. In a danger

  1122. Of forgetting

  1123. The gospel

  1124. Forgetting to listen

  1125. To God

  1126. And she wrote

  1127. A poem

  1128. And it's called

  1129. Tell me

  1130. The same old story

  1131. And it goes

  1132. Like this

  1133. Tell me the story

  1134. Slowly

1135. That I may take it in

  1136. The wonderful redemption

  1137. God's remedy

  1138. For sin

  1139. Tell me the story

  1140. Often

  1141. For I forget

  1142. So soon

  1143. The early dew

  1144. Of morning

  1145. Has passed away

  1146. At noon

1147. That was one of the verses

  1148. In it

1149. She longed just to hear

  1150. The story

  1151. The same old story

1152. Tell it to me often

  1153. For I forget

  1154. So soon

  1155. And it's so important

  1156. That we listen

  1157. To what the Lord

  1158. Is saying

  1159. To us

  1160. Tell me

  1161. The story

  1162. Often

  1163. Let us

  1164. Love

  1165. Hearing

  1166. The gospel

  1167. The good news

  1168. Of God

  1169. Through Jesus Christ

  1170. To us

  1171. We are to listen

  1172. To the Lord

  1173. Why is that

  1174. So important

  1175. Well the second thing

  1176. We see here

  1177. Is because we have

  1178. To give answer

  1179. To the Lord

  1180. The day is coming

1181. When we have to give

  1182. Answer

  1183. To the Lord

1184. We have to give answers

1185. We see in verse 6

1186. With what shall I come

  1187. Before the Lord

  1188. And bow myself

  1189. Before God

  1190. On high

  1191. A day is coming

1192. When we will have to

  1193. Appear before God

1194. And what are we going to

  1195. Bring

  1196. Before God

  1197. On that day

1198. How am I going to

  1199. Bow myself

  1200. Before God

  1201. On high

  1202. Do you realize

  1203. The significance

  1204. Of this

  1205. Yes we can

  1206. Not listen

  1207. To God

  1208. Just now

  1209. We can turn

  1210. Away from God

  1211. Just now

  1212. But the day

  1213. Is coming

  1214. When you must

  1215. Come face

  1216. To face

  1217. With God

  1218. And what will

  1219. You bring

  1220. Before the Lord

  1221. On that day

  1222. You might

  1223. Watch

  1224. Television

  1225. And see

  1226. These programs

  1227. They have now

  1228. When they have

  1229. A judge

  1230. Judge Judy

  1231. Or judge

  1232. Rinder

  1233. Of one of these

  1234. Programs

  1235. And it's all

  1236. Televised so people

  1237. Can see what's

  1238. Going on in people's

  1239. Lives

  1240. And a person

  1241. Will come

  1242. Making a case

  1243. Against somebody

  1244. Else

  1245. Presenting

  1246. The evidence

  1247. And this is almost

  1248. Like a court case

  1249. We're having here

  1250. In verse 6

  1251. In verse 6

  1252. And 7

  1253. What we see here

  1254. Is God

  1255. While saying

  1256. What evidence

  1257. Do you have

  1258. Against me

  1259. You go back

  1260. To verse 3

  1261. And it says there

  1262. Oh my people

  1263. What have I done

  1264. To you

  1265. How have I

  1266. Wearied you

  1267. Answer me

  1268. What have I done

  1269. To you

  1270. How have I

  1271. Wearied you

  1272. Answer me

  1273. And when you

  1274. See God

  1275. Put across

  1276. His case

  1277. There

  1278. In verse 4

  1279. And verse 5

  1280. For I brought

  1281. You up

  1282. Out of the

  1283. Land of Egypt

  1284. And redeemed

  1285. You from the

  1286. House of slavery

  1287. And I sent

  1288. Before you

  1289. Moses and

  1290. Aaron

  1291. And Miriam

  1292. Oh my people

  1293. Remember

  1294. What Balak

  1295. King of Moab

  1296. Devised

  1297. And so it goes

  1298. On

  1299. And then

1300. In the end of verse 5

  1301. That you may know

  1302. The saving acts

  1303. Of the Lord

  1304. This is God's case

  1305. What have I done

  1306. To weary you

  1307. I've brought you

  1308. Out of Egypt

  1309. I've brought you

  1310. Out of slavery

  1311. I've brought you

  1312. Redemption

  1313. I've brought you

  1314. All of this

  1315. How have I

  1316. Wearied you

  1317. Answer me

  1318. God is a God

  1319. Of covenant

  1320. A God of

  1321. Faithfulness

  1322. A God of

  1323. Steadfast love

  1324. And he shows it

  1325. Again and again

  1326. And again

  1327. And he says

  1328. How can this

  1329. Be wearisome

  1330. To you

  1331. And what is

  1332. Our case

  1333. That we are

  1334. Going to make

  1335. Against that

  1336. How are we

  1337. Going to answer

  1338. Is there anything

  1339. That we could

  1340. Bring against

  1341. God to

  1342. Justify and

  1343. Say

  1344. Look Lord

  1345. You did this

  1346. Wrong

  1347. Look Lord

  1348. This would have

  1349. Been better

  1350. In my life

  1351. When God

  1352. Knows best

  1353. For us

  1354. All the time

  1355. The word

  1356. Of God

  1357. Is so clear

  1358. To us

  1359. If you think

  1360. Of it

  1361. When you go

  1362. To a workplace

  1363. And you have

  1364. A contract

  1365. It makes clear

  1366. Everything for you

  1367. But you don't

  1368. Always read

  1369. All the fine

  1370. Details

  1371. Until something

  1372. Goes wrong

  1373. And they say

  1374. Well if you read

  1375. The small print

  1376. You'll see

  1377. It's there

  1378. And even when we

  1379. Think of the hard

  1380. Things in our life

  1381. The troubles

  1382. That come our way

  1383. The trials

  1384. That are there

  1385. Can we say

  1386. But Lord

  1387. You didn't tell me

  1388. No because

  1389. It's there

  1390. Before us

  1391. And it's not

  1392. In small print

  1393. It's in bold

  1394. It's clear

  1395. To us

  1396. God makes

  1397. Clear to us

  1398. There will always

  1399. Be challenges

  1400. There are consequences

  1401. To sin

  1402. Death has come in

  1403. Pain and misery

  1404. And suffering

  1405. It's all there

  1406. It's clear to us

  1407. So that there is

  1408. Nothing that we can

  1409. Say to God

  1410. You didn't tell me

  1411. When it comes

1412. To that day of judgment

  1413. We can't come

  1414. And say

  1415. Lord

  1416. You didn't tell me

  1417. My life would be

  1418. Like that

  1419. My life would be

  1420. This hard

1421. The Lord has told us

  1422. In this world

  1423. You will have

  1424. Many troubles

  1425. It's there

  1426. Before us

  1427. But he also

  1428. Says

  1429. But be of good

  1430. Courage

  1431. For I have

  1432. Overcome the world

  1433. There is always

  1434. That promise

  1435. That God

  1436. Will be with us

  1437. So that when we

  1438. Appear before

  1439. The judgment seat

  1440. With what

  1441. Shall we come

  1442. Before the Lord

  1443. How will we

  1444. Bow ourselves

  1445. Before God

  1446. On high

  1447. What answer

  1448. Will we give

  1449. There is no

  1450. Avoiding this

  1451. There is no

  1452. Hiding from him

  1453. The message

  1454. From Micah

  1455. To his people

  1456. Then is the same

  1457. As for ourselves

  1458. Today

  1459. How are we

  1460. Living with God

  1461. Are we walking

  1462. Humbly with him

  1463. Are we bowing

  1464. Ourselves before him

  1465. In all our need

  1466. How will we answer

  1467. God

  1468. Well the final

  1469. Thing we see

  1470. Is as we come

  1471. Into the

  1472. Verse 8

  1473. He gives us

  1474. The answer

  1475. We cannot

  1476. Come

  1477. In verse 7

  1478. With thousands

  1479. Of rams

  1480. Or ten thousands

  1481. Of rivers

  1482. Of oil

  1483. We cannot

  1484. Come with any

  1485. Of these things

  1486. So what can

  1487. We come

  1488. With

  1489. He has told

  1490. You a man

  1491. What is good

  1492. And what does

  1493. The Lord

  1494. Require of you

  1495. But to do

  1496. Justice

  1497. To love

  1498. Steadfast love

  1499. And to walk

  1500. Humbly

  1501. With your God

  1502. He is telling

  1503. Us

  1504. What to do

  1505. He is giving

  1506. Us

  1507. The answer

  1508. In the same

  1509. Way as he

  1510. Reminds the

  1511. People of

  1512. All that he's

  1513. Brought them

  1514. Through

  1515. From the land

  1516. Of Egypt

  1517. Redeeming

  1518. Them from

  1519. The house

  1520. Of slavery

  1521. Sending

  1522. Moses

  1523. And Aaron

  1524. And Miriam

  1525. Before them

  1526. We look

  1527. At our lives

  1528. And what has

  1529. God done

  1530. For us

  1531. He has

  1532. Bought us

  1533. Out of the

  1534. Bondage of

  1535. Sin

  1536. He has

  1537. Redeemed us

  1538. Through his

  1539. Son Christ

  1540. Jesus

  1541. He has

  1542. Given us

  1543. His spirit

  1544. To guide us

  1545. And to help

  1546. Us along

  1547. The way

  1548. Has he

  1549. Wearied us

  1550. With these

  1551. Things

  1552. Are we

  1553. Tired of

  1554. Hearing

  1555. Of the

  1556. Goodness

  1557. Of God

  1558. Or do we

  1559. Need to

  1560. Hear it

  1561. Again and

  1562. Again

  1563. Tell me

  1564. The same

  1565. Old story

  1566. Of the

  1567. God of

  1568. Steadfast

  1569. Love

  1570. Of the

  1571. God of

  1572. Faithfulness

  1573. To his

  1574. People

  1575. When we

  1576. Think of

  1577. The world

  1578. In which

  1579. We live

  1580. In

  1581. And the

  1582. Way

  1583. We have

  1584. Turned

  1585. Away

  1586. From

  1587. The word

  1588. Of

  1589. God

  1590. Are we

  1591. Surprised

  1592. At where

  1593. We're at

  1594. When there's

  1595. Consequences

  1596. Outlined

  1597. For us

  1598. Charles

  1599. Swindle

  1600. He's got a

  1601. Book called

  1602. Living above

  1603. The level

  1604. Of mediocrity

  1605. And listen

  1606. To what he

  1607. Says

  1608. In this

  1609. Imagine if

  1610. You will

  1611. That you

  1612. Work for

  1613. A company

  1614. Whose

  1615. President

  1616. Found it

  1617. Necessary

  1618. To travel

  1619. Out of

  1620. The country

  1621. And to

  1622. Spend an

  1623. Extended

  1624. Period of

  1625. Time

  1626. Abroad

  1627. So he

  1628. Says to

  1629. You and

  1630. To the

  1631. Other

  1632. Trusted

  1633. Employees

  1634. Look

  1635. I'm

  1636. Going

  1637. To

  1638. Leave

  1639. And while

  1640. I'm

  1641. Gone

  1642. I want

  1643. You to

  1644. Pay

  1645. Close

  1646. Attention

  1647. To the

  1648. Business

  1649. You

  1650. Manage

  1651. Things

  1652. While I'm

  1653. Away

  1654. I will

  1655. Write

  1656. To you

  1657. Regularly

  1658. And when

  1659. I do

  1660. I will

  1661. Instruct

  1662. You

  1663. In what

  1664. You should

  1665. Do

  1666. From now

  1667. Until

  1668. I return

  1669. From this

  1670. Trip

  1671. And

  1672. Everyone

  1673. Agrees

  1674. To this

  1675. So the

  1676. President

  1677. Leaves

  1678. And he

  1679. Stays

  1680. Gone

  1681. For a

  1682. Couple

  1683. Of

  1684. Years

  1685. During

  1686. That

  1687. Time

  1688. He

  1689. Writes

  1690. Often

  1691. Communicating

  1692. His

  1693. Desires

  1694. And

  1695. Concerns

  1696. Finally

  1697. He

  1698. Returns

  1699. He

  1700. Walks

  1701. Up

  1702. To the

  1703. Front

  1704. Door

  1705. Of

  1706. The

  1707. Company

  1708. And

  1709. Immediately

  1710. Discoveres

  1711. Everything

  1712. Is

  1713. In a

  1714. Mess

  1715. Weeds

  1716. Flourishing

  1717. In

  1718. Flower

  1719. Beds

  1720. Windows

  1721. Broken

  1722. Across

  1723. The

  1724. Front

  1725. Of

  1726. The

  1727. Building

  1728. The

  1729. Person

  1730. At

  1731. The

  1732. Front

  1733. Desk

  1734. Sleeping

  1735. Loud

  1736. Music

  1737. Roaring

  1738. From

  1739. Several

  1740. Offices

  1741. Two

  1742. Or

  1743. Three

  1744. People

  1745. Engaged

  1746. In

  1747. Horse

  1748. Play

  1749. In

  1750. The

  1751. Back

  1752. Room

  1753. Instead

  1754. Of

  1755. Making

  1756. A

  1757. Profit

  1758. The

  1759. Business

  1760. Has

  1761. Suffered

  1762. A

  1763. Great

  1764. Loss

  1765. Without

  1766. Hesitation

  1767. He

  1768. Calls

  1769. Everyone

  1770. Together

  1771. And

  1772. With

  1773. A

  1774. Frown

  1775. Asks

  1776. What

  1777. Happened

  1778. Didn't

  1779. You

  1780. Get

  1781. My

  1782. Letters

  1783. And

  1784. You

  1785. Say

  1786. Oh

  1787. Yeah

  1788. We

  1789. Got

  1790. All

  1791. Your

  1792. Letters

  1793. We

  1794. Even

  1795. Bound

  1796. Them

  1797. In

  1798. A

  1799. Book

  1800. And

  1801. Some

  1802. Of

  1803. Us

  1804. Memorized

  1805. Them

  1806. In

  1807. Fact

  1808. We

  1809. Have

  1810. A

  1811. Letter

  1812. Study

  1813. Every

  1814. Sunday

  1815. You

  1816. Know

  1817. Those

  1818. Were

  1819. Really

  1820. Great

  1821. Letters

  1822. I

  1823. Think

  1824. The

  1825. President

  1826. Would

  1827. Then

  1828. Ask

  1829. But

  1830. What

  1831. Did

  1832. You

  1833. Do

  1834. About

  1835. My

  1836. Instructions

  1837. And

  1838. No

  1839. Doubt

  1840. The

  1841. Employees

  1842. Would

  1843. Respond

  1844. Do

  1845. Well

  1846. Nothing

  1847. But

  1848. We

  1849. Read

  1850. Everyone

  1851. What's

  1852. He

  1853. Getting

  1854. At

  1855. There

  1856. He's

  1857. Getting

  1858. At

  1859. The

  1860. Fact

  1861. That

  1862. Yes

  1863. We

  1864. May

  1865. See

  1866. God

  1867. Has

  1868. Gone

  1869. Away

  1870. For

  1871. A

  1872. Time

  1873. But

  1874. He

  1875. Is

  1876. Coming

  1877. Again

  1878. And

  1879. In

  1880. The

  1881. Meant

  1882. Time

  1883. He

  1884. Has

  1885. Spoken

  1886. To

  1887. Us

  1888. Through

  1889. His

  1890. Word

  1891. Which

  1892. We

  1893. Have

  1894. Bound

  1895. In

  1896. A

  1897. Book

  1898. Before

  1899. Us

  1900. Which

  1901. We

  1902. Hear

  1903. Every

  1904. Sunday

  1905. Which

  1906. We

  1907. Maybe

  1908. Memorize

  1909. Great

  1910. Parts

  1911. Of

  1912. It

  1913. But

  1914. The

  1915. Question

  1916. Is

  1917. What

  1918. Have

  1919. We

  1920. Done

  1921. With

  1922. It

  1923. Have

  1924. We

  1925. Listened

  1926. To

  1927. What

  1928. God

  1929. Is

  1930. Saying

  1931. Do

  1932. We

  1933. Hear

  1934. What

  1935. God

  1936. The

  1937. Lord

  1938. Is

  1939. Saying

  1940. To

  1941. Us

  1942. He

  1943. Calls

  1944. Us

  1945. Here

  1946. To

  1947. Hear

  1948. Because

  1949. We

  1950. Are

  1951. To

  1952. Appear

  1953. Before

  1954. God

  1955. And

  1956. God

  1957. Will

  1958. Say

  1959. To

  1960. Us

  1961. What

  1962. Have

  1963. I

  1964. Done

  1965. To

  1966. You

  1967. How

  1968. Have

  1969. I

  1970. Weed

  1971. You

  1972. Answer

  1973. Me

  1974. What

  1975. Answer

  1976. Do

  1977. You

  1978. Give

  1979. Do

  1980. You

  1981. Have

  1982. Anything

  1983. To

  1984. Come

  1985. Before

  1986. God

  1987. And

  1988. Say

  1989. You

  1990. Got

  1991. That

  1992. Wrong

  1993. There

  1994. Is

  1995. No

  1996. Answer

  1997. Before

  1998. God

  1999. In

  2000. That

  2001. Way

  2002. The

  2003. Only

  2004. Answer

  2005. Is

  2006. To

  2007. Listen

  2008. And

  2009. To

  2010. See

  2011. That

  2012. All

  2013. We

  2014. Are

  2015. To

  2016. Do

  2017. All

  2018. We

  2019. Are

  2020. Required

  2021. Of

  2022. Us

  2023. Is

  2024. Before

  2025. Us

  2026. In

  2027. This

  2028. Word

  2029. To

  2030. Do

  2031. Justice

  2032. To

  2033. Love

  2034. Steadfast

  2035. Love

  2036. And

  2037. To

  2038. Walk

  2039. Humbly

  2040. With

  2041. Your

  2042. God

  2043. How

  2044. Do

  2045. We

  2046. Do

  2047. That

  2048. We

  2049. Look

  2050. To

  2051. God

  2052. We

  2053. Trust

  2054. In

  2055. His

  2056. Faithfulness

  2057. His

  2058. Steadfast

  2059. Love

  2060. His

  2061. Covenant

  2062. Love

  2063. That

  2064. We

  2065. See

  2066. Before

  2067. Us

  2068. Fulfilled

  2069. In

  2070. Christ

  2071. Jesus

  2072. And

  2073. We

  2074. Seek

  2075. To

  2076. Walk

  2077. Humbly

  2078. Putting

  2079. Our

  2080. Trust

  2081. In

  2082. Him

  2083. Turning

  2084. Away

  2085. From

  2086. Our

  2087. Sin

  2088. Repenting

  2089. Of

  2090. Our

  2091. Sin

  2092. And

  2093. Looking

  2094. To

  2095. And

  2096. Trusting

  2097. In

  2098. Him

  2099. It's

  2100. No

  2101. Use

  2102. Having

  2103. The

  2104. Word

  2105. Beautifully

  2106. Bound

  2107. Before

  2108. Us

  2109. Memorizing

  2110. It

  2111. And

  2112. Doing

  2113. Nothing

  2114. With

  2115. It

  2116. We

  2117. Are

  2118. To

  2119. Hear

  2120. And

  2121. Do

  2122. As

  2123. The

  2124. Word

  2125. Commands

  2126. So

  2127. As

  2128. We

  2129. Come

  2130. To

  2131. The

  2132. End

  2133. Of

  2134. A

  2135. Year

  2136. As

  2137. We

  2138. Look

  2139. To

  2140. A

  2141. New

  2142. Year

  2143. God

  2144. Willing

  2145. We

  2146. Seek

  2147. To

  2148. Do

  2149. These

  2150. Things

  2151. To

  2152. Do

  2153. Justice

  2154. To

  2155. Love

  2156. His

  2157. Steadfast

  2158. Love

  2159. And

  2160. To

  2161. Walk

  2162. Humbly

  2163. With

  2164. Our

  2165. God

  2166. Let

  2167. Us

  2168. Pray

  2169. Our

  2170. Father

  2171. In

  2172. Heaven

  2173. We

  2174. Thank

  2175. You

  2176. That

  2177. You

  2178. Have

  2179. Revealed

  2180. Yourself

  2181. To

  2182. Us

  2183. Through

  2184. Your

  2185. Word

  2186. That

  2187. You

  2188. Are

  2189. Speaking

  2190. To

  2191. Us

  2192. Today

  2193. As

  2194. You

  2195. Have

  2196. Ever

  2197. Been

  2198. For

  2199. We

  2200. Are

  2201. Living

  2202. The

  2203. Same

  2204. Days

  2205. As

  2206. Micah

  2207. When

  2208. We

  2209. See

  2210. So

  2211. Many

  2212. Of

  2213. The

  2214. Problems

  2215. And

  2216. Troubles

  2217. Of

  2218. His

  2219. Day

  2220. Are

  2221. So

  2222. Common

  2223. To

  2224. Our

  2225. Own

  2226. And

  2227. We

  2228. Are

  2229. Turning

  2230. Away

  2231. From

  2232. You

  2233. In

  2234. The

  2235. Same

  2236. Way

  2237. But

  2238. We

  2239. Thank

  2240. That

  2241. You

  2242. Speak

  2243. That

  2244. You

  2251. Us

  2252. To

  2253. Hear

  2254. What

  2255. You

  2256. Are

  2257. Saying
