  17. The Lord is full in majesty and might.

  18. The Lord is full in majesty and might.

  19. The mighty night.

  20. The Lord in throne, the night is strong.

  21. For power full is He.

  22. And then all the oceans waves are makers of the sea.

  23. Pure royal statutes, Lord, stand firm.

  24. And changing it to worth and holiness.

  25. Adore to us all endless days, O Lord.

  26. Now we're going to call upon the Lord in prayer.

  27. Let's join together as we call upon God.

  28. Lord, our gracious God, we come before you with thanksgiving.

  29. To give thanks for that reminder and these great words we have sung.

  30. Of your own greatness and majesty.

  31. Of your sovereign rule over all things that you have created.

  32. And we thank you, Lord, that that encourages us this evening.

  33. Especially as we look in on ourselves and find so many marks of our own failures.

  34. As we look over a world that seems to be in constant turmoil.

  35. We thank you, Lord, that you rule over all of these things.

  36. Sovereignly and in majesty.

  37. And that you are worthy thereby of our praise and our adoration and our service.

  38. We thank you, Lord, that you are worthy of the Lord.

  39. We thank you, Lord, for the privilege we have of gathering here in your presence.

  40. And of coming before you, Lord, not only to sing your praises.

  41. To read your word.

  42. To hear your gospel proclaimed.

  43. But also to speak directly with you in prayer.

  44. We thank you, Lord, for the promises that meet us as we come together in this way.

  45. Promises that meet us as individuals.

  46. Though we gather collectively before you, Lord, as a congregation.

  47. We acknowledge that we have our individual requests and our concerns.

  48. And our individual needs as well.

  49. And we bless you for the way that you continue to provide for us.

  50. And for the way especially that you do not mark our iniquity against us.

  51. You have provided us instead with salvation in all its abundance in the Lord Jesus Christ.

  52. And we thank you tonight that as we come to you,

  53. we come to one who has provided us with a mediator in him.

  54. A mediator to represent God to us fully.

  55. And to represent us before God.

  56. We thank you for the way that Jesus Christ carries out.

  57. All his tasks with perfect accomplishment.

  58. And for the way that we can come to trust in him fully.

  59. As one who is worthy of our trust.

  60. Lord, grant us, we pray as we come,

  61. that we may be conscious of your own presence.

  62. Here in our midst and for each of us personally.

  63. That we'll know our souls to be touched this evening.

  64. By the truth and by the power of your word.

  65. Bless us, we pray, with your Holy Spirit.

  66. Grant that your Holy Spirit may apply your word to us.

  67. With that power which he alone has.

  68. To affect our lives positively.

  69. To bring us further knowledge of ourselves.

  70. And especially in the light of that knowledge of you that we need.

  71. As one who has provided such salvation for us.

  72. Bless us, we pray tonight, with all our concerns.

  73. We bring before you, Lord, our own individual and collective concerns.

  74. Our needs as a congregation.

  75. Our concerns as a congregation.

  76. As we seek to serve you in the gospel from week to week.

  77. From day to day.

  78. Lord, we thank you for supplying us with the ongoing resources.

  79. To support the gospel practically, financially.

  80. We pray that as we are thankful for that.

  81. That we may see that upheld and even increased.

  82. We pray, Lord, that you'll bless us too.

  83. With further resources of a human kind.

  84. That we may see others coming.

  85. To join themselves to the serving people of God in this world.

  86. And in this congregation as well.

  87. Bless us, we pray, in all the work that we plan for this week ahead.

  88. By your will.

  89. Bless the work, we pray, amongst our young people.

  90. Our children and our infants and toddlers.

  91. We ask that that will be blessed to each and all of them.

  92. And to the families that belong to them.

  93. Bless, we pray, the Bible class and the Sunday school.

  94. Bless us with further resources in terms of teaching.

  95. Grant to us, Lord, that we may constantly bear before you in prayer.

  96. The need for our children to be educated under the influence of your Holy Spirit.

  97. And brought to know you at a young age.

  98. We pray for those who belong to us.

  99. Who will be with us for a time of holiday.

  100. Who serve you in other parts of the country.

  101. Those who are students and studying elsewhere.

  102. Remember them, we pray.

  103. As well as those locally who belong to us.

  104. We ask, O Lord, that your blessing in all of these areas of our life as a congregation.

  105. We'll know your blessing.

  106. We pray for your blessing too tonight.

  107. For those who have particular ailments and illnesses.

  108. Remember them, we pray.

  109. Those who suffer from mental health issues.

  110. We pray for them.

  111. We give thanks, Lord, that you have access to our minds.

  112. More than we ourselves can possibly have.

  113. And we pray that you'll bless all those tonight who have these issues.

  114. And all those families who care for them.

  115. Those who don't have the privilege of faculties like many of us possess.

  116. We pray, Lord, that you would grant them your blessing.

  117. Your presence.

  118. Your salvation.

  119. And we pray that you would bless too those who are seriously ill and receiving treatment.

  120. Those who have been through surgery in recent times.

  121. We commit them to you.

  122. We ask too for those who mourn the passing of loved ones.

  123. For they, Lord, are always with us.

  124. And we hear every week that we gather here of others who have passed away in the week before.

  125. And we pray that you'll bless them.

  126. These families that we know of tonight.

  127. Who mourn and who express their grief to you.

  128. And, O Lord, we pray that they will know your comfort and your guidance.

  129. And your strengthening of them during these difficult times.

  130. Remember us too, we pray as a community.

  131. Granted, we may be thankful for all the resources you provide us with.

  132. Bless those in our local Corlea.

  133. Our council who represent our various parts of the islands.

  134. As they meet from time to time.

  135. And all the officers of the Corlea as well.

  136. As they take decisions, Lord.

  137. Affecting us all from week to week.

  138. Be pleased.

  139. We pray to grant them your blessing.

  140. To raise up others who will also come to contribute in that way to our society locally.

  141. We pray that you'd help us, Lord.

  142. As we pray for those in our community who have specific talents and gifts to help us in different times of need.

  143. Whether it be at times of bereavement.

  144. Times of illness.

  145. Through the expertise in the hospital.

  146. The hospice.

  147. The care homes.

  148. And the clinics that we find.

  149. Lord, bless them all.

  150. We pray.

  151. Make us thankful that we have access to such resources.

  152. That are so lacking in so many parts of the world.

  153. And even in parts of our own nation.

  154. And bless our nation, Lord.

  155. We pray at this time.

  156. Be pleased to bless those in government over us.

  157. Bless those of them who fear your name.

  158. And who bear that testimony before their fellow members of parliament.

  159. And members of the Scottish parliament.

  160. Lord, we ask that you would continue to bestow wisdom on those who lead us in that way.

  161. And bestow wisdom on us as a people as well.

  162. That whenever elections come round.

  163. That we may be led of your spirit.

  164. To elect those who will honor your ways wherever possible.

  165. Those who will be known as a people of integrity and trustworthiness.

  166. And we ask, O Lord, that you would guide us as a people in that way.

  167. And so remember the world in which we live.

  168. In all its turmoil.

  169. In all its distress.

  170. Especially those places tonight that have famine and disaster.

  171. And war to contend with.

  172. Bless your people, especially in those areas of the world.

  173. Grant to them, O Lord, your own steadfast love.

  174. To be known from day to day for them.

  175. Be with us now, we pray.

  176. Hear us in this our prayer.

  177. And pardon our many sins and cleanse us.

  178. For Jesus' sake.

  179. Amen.

  180. Now we turn to sing some more verses.

  181. This time we're singing in Psalm 106.

  182. Scottish Psalter version on page 378.

  183. We sing verses 1 to 5.

  184. And the tune this time is St. David.

  185. Give praise and thanks unto the Lord.

  186. For bountiful is he.

  187. His tender mercy doth endure unto eternity.

  188. God's mighty works.

  189. Who can express or show forth all his praise?

  190. Blessed are they that judgment keep.

  191. And justly do always.

  192. Psalm 106.

  193. The verses marked 1 to 5.

  194. Give praise and thanks unto the Lord.

  195. Amen.

  196. His 일's tomb and turbulenceru.

  197. As yet, the spiritual Lord.

  198. Or are he nothing.

  199. The nation,ики God's legendary King.

  200. He inspired us that he said,

  201. The judgment, the unjustly, do always.

  202. Remember me, Lord, with love,

  203. which love to my God's name,

  204. with thy salvation, O my God,

  205. who blessed me from here.

  206. But I, thy chosen, who may see,

  207. and in their joy rejoice,

  208. and may with thy inheritance

  209. fly on with cheerful voice.

  210. Now we're going to read from God's Word two passages,

  211. firstly in the Old Testament,

  212. in the prophecy of Ezekiel,

  213. and then we'll read from the last chapter of the Bible,

  214. Revelation chapter 22,

    Revelation 22 chapter mention

  215. a few verses at the beginning of that chapter.

  216. First of all from Ezekiel,

  217. and chapter 47,

  218. reading verses 1 to 5.

  219. It's on page 888 or thereabouts,

  220. if you're using the church Bibles.

  221. Then he took me back to the door of the temple,

  222. and behold, water was issuing from below

  223. the threshold of the temple towards the east,

  224. for the temple faced east.

  225. The water was flowing down from below

  226. the south end of the threshold of the temple,

  227. south of the altar.

  228. Then he brought me out by way of the north gate,

  229. and led me round on the outside

  230. to the outer gate that faces towards the east.

  231. And behold, the water was trickling out

  232. on the south side.

  233. Going on eastwards with a measuring line in his hand,

  234. the man measured a thousand cubits,

  235. and then led me through the water,

  236. and it was ankle deep.

  237. And he measured a thousand,

  238. and led me through the water,

  239. and it was knee deep.

  240. Again he measured a thousand,

  241. and led me through the water,

  242. and it was waist deep.

  243. Again he measured a thousand,

  244. and it was a river that I could not pass through,

  245. for the water had risen.

  246. It was deep enough to swim in,

  247. a river that could not be passed through.

  248. And he said to me,

  249. Son of man,

  250. have you seen this?

  251. And if we turn now to the book of Revelation,

  252. and the revelation of John chapter 22,

  253. we'll read the first five verses there as well.

  254. Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life,

  255. brightest crystal,

  256. flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb

  257. through the middle of the street of the city.

  258. Also on either side of the river,

  259. the tree of life,

  260. with its twelve kinds of fruit,

  261. yielding its fruit each month.

  262. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

  263. No longer will there be anything accursed,

  264. but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it,

  265. and his servants will worship him.

  266. They will see his face,

  267. and his name will be on their foreheads.

  268. And night will be no more.

  269. They will need no light of lamp or sun,

  270. for the Lord God will be their light,

  271. and they will reign forever and ever.

  272. We pray that God will bless to us

  273. those two readings of his word this evening.

  274. Let's turn to read and sing again in Psalm 36.

  275. Psalm 36, and the Sing Psalms version on page 44.

  276. The tune this time is Free Church,

  277. and we're singing verses 5 to 10.

  278. Psalm 37, and the Sing Psalms version on page 44.

  279. Your steadfast love is great, O Lord, it reaches heaven high.

  280. Your faithfulness is wonderful, extending to the sky.

  281. Your righteousness is very great,

  282. like mountains high and steep.

  283. Your justice is like ocean depths,

  284. both man and beast you keep.

  285. How precious is your steadfast love,

  286. what confidence it brings.

  287. Both high and low find shelter

  288. in the shadow of your wings.

  289. They feast within your house,

  290. and drink from streams of your delight.

  291. For with you is the source of life.

  292. In your light we see light.

  293. To those who know you as their God,

  294. your steadfast love impart.

  295. Maintain your righteousness

  296. to those of pure and upright heart.

  297. So verses 5 to 10, to God's praise,

  298. Your steadfast love is great, O Lord.

  299. Your steadfast love is great, O Lord,

  300. it reaches heaven high.

  301. Your faithfulness is wonderful,

  302. Your steadfast love is great, O Lord, it reaches heaven high.

  303. Your steadfast love is great, O Lord, it reaches heaven high.

  304. Your righteousness is great, O Lord, it reaches heaven high.

  305. Your steadfast love is great, O Lord, it reaches heaven high.

  306. Your steadfast love is great, O Lord, it reaches heaven high.

  307. Your være with whom it hands mira demasiado through the Lord.

  308. Your steadfast love is great, O Lord, it reaches heaven high.

  309. My shoulders of the above the world, it reaches heaven high.

  310. It reaches heaven high.

  311. Her easant self- tailored awarding to the Lord.

  312. O Lord, it reaches heaven high.

  313. Your steadfast love is great, O Lord, it reaches heaven high.

  314. Bl zeg-low high.

  315. If your steadfast love is great, O Lord, it reaches heaven high.

  316. O Lord, it reaches heaven清 the lion of earth to the 결국,

  317. all ye're delighted high.

  318. ye are blessed by the RIGHT now.

  319. Almostatherine high.

  320. O cry and o'er find shelter in the shadow of pure peace.

  321. The peace within you have standing from streams of beauty light.

  322. For when you reach the source of light, make your light please see light.

  323. To those who know you must have gone, your steadfast love impart.

  324. Continue righteousness to those of pure and of bright heart.

  325. Now for a short time together this evening, let's turn to Revelation chapter 22.

    Revelation 22 chapter mention

  326. Looking at these five verses that we read earlier from the beginning of the chapter, verses 1 to 5.

  327. We're all familiar, I'm sure, with the work of war artists.

  328. Sometimes they're commissioned by their country in a time of war.

  329. Sometimes they just choose themselves to go to where there is conflict in order to depict what they see.

  330. And sometimes that, of course, is used for propaganda purposes.

  331. But very often you can find a war artist conveying a sense of the horror of war,

  332. sometimes more effectively than just taking a photograph of it.

  333. Because the war artist can, as an artist, can actually instill in their presentation of their work

  334. something of emotion, something of the scale of things.

  335. Things which really you cannot capture in a photograph by itself.

  336. And down through the years, war artists have gone to war.

  337. We think especially of the two great wars, the Second World, First World and Second World War

  338. and other wars that their own nation have been involved with.

  339. And have captured, in terms of paintings and drawings, something of what they witnessed there

  340. and tried to convey a sense of what that was like in that terrible time of war.

  341. We could really compare the book of Revelation to a series of paintings by war artists, if you like.

  342. Because the book is really about a war between the Lamb, who is Jesus on one side, along with his people,

  343. and his enemies on the other hand.

  344. They're described in various ways through the book of the Revelation.

  345. And the whole of the book of the Revelation is pretty much to do with that conflict,

  346. with that warfare between the Lord and his followers,

  347. and those who actually follow what's sometimes called the beast or the dragon,

  348. representatives of evil and of opposition to God down through the centuries.

  349. When you come to chapter 19, for example, you'll find that there's a representation there

  350. of the final great battle and of the triumph of Jesus from verse 11 onwards.

  351. He saw heaven open, and behold, a white horse.

  352. The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True,

  353. and in righteousness he judges and makes war.

  354. And you can see all the way through these verses that follow on from that,

  355. an account of how he is portrayed, his might, his prowess, his ability, his final victory.

  356. And so in verse 16, on his robe and on his thigh he has a name written,

  357. King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

  358. And so that fits in with the other portraits that we've called them,

  359. these depictions of this conflict as you go through the book of the Revelation.

  360. And looking at it like that, I think, helps us to sometimes get to grips with the teaching of the book,

  361. which at some points is not easy,

  362. but it tells us, it keeps us in mind of the one common strand or theme that runs through it,

  363. this great conflict between the Lord and his enemies.

  364. And then you come to chapter 21, where you have a painting there in words of the New Jerusalem,

  365. leading into chapter 22 we're looking at tonight,

  366. which you might say is the lasting peace that Jesus, by his conquest of evil and of sin,

  367. has brought about for his people actually to share with him.

  368. Now in the study Bible I use at home, I came across this comment,

  369. and it's as follows,

  370. the book of Revelation is designed not only to inform and assure Christians about God's final purposes,

  371. but to increase their longing for God and the realization of his purpose.

  372. The certainty of that consummation, that final victory,

  373. comforts saints during times of temptation and persecution.

  374. In other words, when you look at a passage like this passage in Revelation 22,

  375. bringing you into the final state of things,

  376. the peace of God's people that they enjoy together with the Lord,

  377. what that is really for is for now.

  378. It's not just projecting us forward to get some sort of glimpse into how things will be finally.

  379. The whole of that teaching of Revelation is for the present situation of God's people

  380. as they go through this life.

  381. So that as they come and confront various difficulties themselves,

  382. as they share in meeting the opposition that the enemies of the gospel in every generation actually throw at them,

  383. here is the book of the Revelation that God gave to John and is now in the Scriptures,

  384. so that we will find our comfort, our assurance, our certainty of final victory

  385. when we come to trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.

  386. And as we'll see, we share in that great victory that is his,

  387. that is already achieved by his death and resurrection and exaltation to glory.

  388. So all the time through the book of the Revelation,

  389. as much as any other book in the Bible,

  390. God is saying to us, this is for now.

  391. This is for your present conflict.

  392. This is to assure your heart that in Jesus Christ and on his side,

  393. you are certain of victory, however tough, however challenging,

  394. however stressful, however difficulty,

  395. the way towards the final victory might be.

  396. With Christ on your side and you on his side,

  397. that is your assurance tonight.

  398. And maybe you're here tonight feeling a bit downcast,

  399. the challenges that you're facing,

  400. things you maybe never really seem to get on top of,

  401. the stresses of life as you go through life,

  402. both for young people and older people like ourselves.

  403. But here is God saying, I have given you this book

  404. so that in looking through this book at the victory of Jesus and his people,

  405. you can say of yourself as you find yourself amongst them,

  406. this is actually my privilege and my portion,

  407. that I belong to these people

  408. and that he is my king and my lord

  409. as he is king of kings and lord of lords.

  410. So let's look at this passage briefly.

  411. I'm first of all going to look at what I'm going to call the New Eden

  412. because features of this passage remind us very much of a passage,

  413. for example, like Genesis,

  414. describing the creation at the beginning of things

  415. where God created heavens and the earth

  416. and ourselves, mankind as well.

  417. Genesis 2, for example, verses 7 to 10

  418. very much form a background or the imagery there

  419. is very similar to this final chapter in Revelation.

  420. Let me just read what it says there,

  421. verse 7, chapter 2 of Genesis,

  422. where then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground

  423. and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life

  424. and the man became a living creature.

  425. And the Lord God planted a garden in Eden in the east

  426. and there he put the man whom he had formed.

  427. And out of the ground the Lord made to spring every tree

  428. that is pleasant to the sight and good for food.

  429. The tree of life was in the midst of the garden

  430. and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

  431. A river flowed out of Eden to water the garden

  432. and there it divided and became four rivers.

  433. And you can see the similarity there in the description

  434. with what you find here in Revelation chapter 22.

    Revelation 22 chapter mention

  435. But three things in this chapter 22, this passage,

  436. three things in regard to the new Eden that we're calling it.

  437. It's, of course, different in the sense that Eden was,

  438. as we'll see, something that man enjoyed,

  439. mankind enjoyed only for a while

  440. and then they were closed out from it

  441. because of their own sin and rebellion against God.

  442. Let's leave that for a moment.

  443. But the three things that dominate the scene

  444. are, first of all, the throne,

  445. and then the river,

  446. and thirdly, the tree in the midst of the garden.

  447. First thing that dominates it is the throne of God,

  448. the water of life,

  449. this river that flowed with the water of life,

  450. bright as crystal,

  451. flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb.

  452. Christ on his throne, God on his throne.

  453. And that is the source of this river,

  454. this water of life.

  455. But it's the scene,

  456. in the scene,

  457. it's the throne that essentially dominates the whole scene.

  458. And if you go back to chapter 4,

  459. of course, that's, as you know,

  460. a chapter that deals with the throne in heaven

  461. that John saw at that point

  462. in the beginning of this revelation

  463. that God gave him.

  464. Behold, he says,

  465. I saw a door open in heaven,

  466. and the first voice which I heard said,

  467. Come up and I will show you what must take place.

  468. And I behold,

  469. I was in the Spirit,

  470. and behold,

  471. a throne stood in heaven.

  472. And he who sat there

  473. had the appearance of Jasper and Carnelian.

  474. And so on the description there.

  475. There's the immensity of this throne,

  476. the greatness of this throne of God,

  477. this rule of God,

  478. this sovereign control of God,

  479. this God who rules over all things that take place,

  480. whether they are evil or whether they are good.

  481. But God, in his own sovereign oversight of everything,

  482. is absolutely in charge.

  483. We need to always remember that.

  484. And you go back to chapter 20 as well,

  485. where you find the defeat of Satan,

  486. and then followed by the great white throne of judgment.

  487. I saw a great white throne,

  488. and him who sat on it,

  489. or was seated on it,

  490. from his presence,

  491. earth and sky fled away,

  492. and no place was found for them.

  493. We're worshiping tonight this God.

  494. We're worshiping this God,

  495. as one put it in the Old Testament.

  496. The heavens of heavens cannot contain you,

  497. let alone, said Solomon,

  498. this temple that I have built.

  499. And it's the immensity of God,

  500. the greatness of God,

  501. the majesty of God,

  502. the glory of God,

  503. that fills this Bible from beginning to end.

  504. It is the central feature of this Bible.

  505. It is foundational to everything else that you read of,

  506. and come to know through this Bible.

  507. Every other single topic has to come back in some way or other to be related to

  508. this throne of God,

  509. this majesty of God,

  510. this rule of God,

  511. this greatness of God.

  512. The throne that's in heaven.

  513. You know,

  514. you think of the grace of God,

  515. the favor of God,

  516. the love of God.

  517. And we may think of these at times as,

  518. as if they were kind of thin or flimsy things.

  519. Some people in the world certainly would think of them as we're,

  520. we're not really thinking properly if we give them the place that the Bible itself gives them.

  521. But you see,

  522. the grace of God is sovereign grace,

  523. is royal grace.

  524. The favor of God is a favor that is immense,

  525. because it's God's favor.

  526. The power of God is the power of the sovereign throne.

  527. The authority of this throne is the authority of God,

  528. whose authority covers all things.

  529. Here's the throne at the midst of it,

  530. in the midst of it showing us the immensity of God,

  531. the greatness of God.

  532. And that's why we bow in his presence.

  533. And that's why we say this is the main feature of this Bible.

  534. There is nothing more important than we realize that this grace,

  535. this salvation is,

  536. is royal,

  537. it's sovereign,

  538. it's kingly,

  539. it's divine.

  540. And you know,

  541. one of the greatest marks of being a Christian

  542. is that you accept in your heart,

  543. that you accept in your mind,

  544. that you accept in your conscience,

  545. that you accept with your will,

  546. this rule of God,

  547. that you accept that God rules.

  548. And that's why it's such a humbling and immensely rewarding thing

  549. to come to hear of a Christian saying,

  550. at the time of great distress or loss,

  551. the Lord knows what he's doing.

  552. The Lord is in charge.

  553. He's in control of my life.

  554. The throne.

  555. The throne of God.

  556. The throne in heaven.

  557. The rule of God.

  558. The majesty of God.

  559. The greatness of God.

  560. That's the first feature

  561. in this wonderful painting of heaven for us in these words.

  562. The second thing is the river.

  563. I saw, he said,

  564. the river of life,

  565. the angel showed me,

  566. the river of the water of life,

  567. bright as crystal,

  568. flowing from the throne of God.

  569. Isn't that a wonderful emphasis?

  570. When you think about the throne

  571. and its immensity,

  572. you maybe think of it,

  573. some people might think of it

  574. as really quite detached from human life

  575. and from human needs,

  576. but it's the very, very opposite.

  577. The water of life that comes to course through

  578. the life of God's people,

  579. the life of his church,

  580. the life of heaven itself.

  581. Where does it begin?

  582. Where does it source?

  583. It's the throne.

  584. The throne is the source of the water of life,

  585. the source of salvation.

  586. It is from God.

  587. It is freely on his part provided for us.

  588. You remember John in his gospel

  589. that he spoke very often,

  590. wrote very often of salvation

  591. in terms of water.

  592. That wonderful chapter four

  593. where Jesus dealt with the women of Samaria.

  594. She had come to draw water

  595. and she met Jesus at the well

  596. and in conversation,

  597. it's a magnificent conversation,

  598. isn't it?

  599. That great interview.

  600. She hadn't expected such a thing when she came,

  601. but this is what she met with.

  602. And he took her first of all to the water of that well,

  603. that natural water.

  604. Whoever, he says,

  605. drinks of this water

  606. shall thirst again.

  607. But the water that I shall give him

  608. shall be in him,

  609. a well of water springing up

  610. into everlasting life.

  611. You see, it's not just that water comes,

  612. the water of life comes,

  613. eternal life comes from the throne of God,

  614. but it flows into our lives.

  615. It flows into the life of his people.

  616. It fills their soul.

  617. It dominates their thinking.

  618. It fills their vision of eternity.

  619. There's water of life which flowed from the throne.

  620. And if you go to John chapter 7,

    John 7 chapter mention

  621. you'll know the passage,

  622. I'm sure yourselves very well.

  623. John chapter 7, verses 37 to 39.

    John 7:37–39

  624. On the last day of the feast,

  625. the great day,

  626. Jesus stood up and cried out,

  627. If anyone thirsts,

  628. let him come to me and drink.

  629. Whoever believes in me,

  630. as the scripture said,

  631. out of his heart will flow

  632. rivers of living water.

  633. Now this he said about the spirit

  634. the Holy Spirit,

  635. whom those who believed in him

  636. were to receive.

  637. For as yet the spirit had not been given

  638. because Jesus was not yet glorified.

  639. And that's anticipating

  640. the day of Pentecost

  641. and everything that happened

  642. subsequent to that in history,

  643. the history of the church

  644. with the power of the Holy Spirit

  645. and the direction of the Holy Spirit.

  646. Well, there it is in John 7,

  647. they're portrayed as water flowing

  648. from those who believe

  649. as well as into those who believe

  650. because God doesn't actually

  651. bestow salvation on us

  652. in a way that just keeps it

  653. entirely to ourselves.

  654. The influence of that

  655. and the influence of that life

  656. reaches outward.

  657. The Holy Spirit,

  658. the heart of a human being

  659. who's been saved,

  660. a Christian, a believer,

  661. the Holy Spirit in the life

  662. of that person

  663. communicates things

  664. to others beyond themselves.

  665. And here is a reminder to us

  666. that from this throne

  667. in the middle of heaven itself,

  668. this water of life,

  669. brightest crystal,

  670. flows as the source of life.

  671. And you see what it's saying?

  672. It flows through the middle

  673. of the street of the city,

  674. also on either side of the river,

  675. the tree of life.

  676. It flows through

  677. the streets of the city,

  678. through the middle

  679. of the street of the city.

  680. And again,

  681. this is one of the main features

  682. of this wonderful painting,

  683. as we're calling it,

  684. of heaven,

  685. of the final state,

  686. that you have this water of life

  687. flowing constantly,

  688. freely,

  689. and it's coming

  690. through every single part

  691. of the city,

  692. the main street of the city,

  693. to make its way

  694. through the whole city.

  695. In other words,

  696. that is such a wonderful portrayal

  697. of how heaven itself

  698. is just vibrant,

  699. constantly vibrant,

  700. perfectly vibrant with life.

  701. Life in its abundance.

  702. Life in its fullness.

  703. Life supplied by God

  704. from his throne.

  705. The eternal life

  706. that God

  707. has provided

  708. for his people.

  709. And isn't it a reminder

  710. as well,

  711. as the woman of Samaria said,

  712. or found out,

  713. she left her water pot

  714. and she hurried

  715. to tell the people

  716. of her own town

  717. what she had discovered,

  718. what had come her way

  719. in meeting with Christ.

  720. Why did she leave

  721. her water pot?

  722. There are all kinds

  723. of fancy interpretations

  724. of that

  725. and what that represented

  726. and what that might

  727. have been a symbol of.

  728. Well,

  729. whatever you say about that,

  730. she left it for this reason

  731. among many others perhaps,

  732. but she left it for this reason.

  733. She had actually found Jesus

  734. and she was so excited

  735. she forgot the primary reason

  736. she had come to that well

  737. to draw ordinary water

  738. because she had found

  739. the water of life.

  740. And she went back

  741. and told her own people.

  742. That's the Spirit of God

  743. as that Spirit of God

  744. works in the lives

  745. of His people.

  746. What do you want to do

  747. when God has brought you

  748. to see Himself

  749. and to see that salvation

  750. and to accept Jesus

  751. and to know that a change

  752. has taken place in your life?

  753. You want to share that.

  754. You want to tell people about it

  755. in whatever way you go about it.

  756. Some people are very shy about it.

  757. They find it very difficult.

  758. Others don't have that difficulty.

  759. But in one way or another,

  760. those who have come

  761. to trust in Christ

  762. and know something

  763. of this water of life,

  764. they communicate

  765. the reality of that

  766. to the world

  767. in which they live.

  768. And it's the burden

  769. of your heart tonight

  770. as a Christian, isn't it?

  771. That those who see your life

  772. will actually know something

  773. of the beauty of God

  774. being revealed in His life,

  775. in His eternal life

  776. that He's given you

  777. through the life that you live.

  778. So there's the throne

  779. and there's the river

  780. and there's also the tree

  781. on either side of the river,

  782. the tree of life

  783. with its twelve kinds of fruit

  784. yielding its fruit every month.

  785. Now in Eden, of course,

  786. as we see it in the book of Genesis,

  787. the tree of life

  788. was situated in the middle

  789. of the garden

  790. along with the tree

  791. of the knowledge

  792. of good and evil.

  793. They had access to

  794. the tree of life.

  795. There's nothing to indicate

  796. that they couldn't have partaken

  797. of the fruit of the tree of life,

  798. although the fruit of the other one,

  799. of course, was prohibited.

  800. The tree of life represented

  801. life in the highest form

  802. for man at that stage.

  803. Now, of course,

  804. through the sin

  805. that Adam and Eve

  806. perpetrated

  807. as the head of the human race

  808. at that time,

  809. as Adam was,

  810. Eden was closed to them.

  811. Eden was actually then

  812. shut out from.

  813. They were shut out from it,

  814. reminding us

  815. that there is a curse

  816. attending sin against God.

  817. That rebellion against God

  818. meets with God Himself,

  819. separating us from life.

  820. But it's restored

  821. in Jesus Christ.

  822. That life

  823. that we forfeited

  824. in Adam

  825. is restored

  826. in the last Adam

  827. in Jesus.

  828. And that's why

  829. He came into the world.

  830. So that He would not

  831. just undo

  832. what Adam had done

  833. in his sin against God,

  834. but that He would actually

  835. do something

  836. which would mean

  837. that never again

  838. would God's people

  839. be excluded

  840. from life,

  841. from the garden of life,

  842. from the tree of life.

  843. And you can see

  844. in verse 14 here,

  845. in the chapter here,

  846. that there's a very

  847. important reference

  848. there as well.

  849. Blessed are those

  850. who wash their robes

  851. so that they may have

  852. the right

  853. to the tree of life

  854. and that they may enter

  855. the city by the gates.

  856. When Adam and Eve

  857. were excluded

  858. from Egypt

  859. and the way was barred,

  860. they had forfeited

  861. the right of access

  862. to that life

  863. that the tree of life

  864. represented.

  865. God was shutting them

  866. out from that.

  867. But He didn't shut

  868. us out permanently

  869. from access to life.

  870. Here is Revelation

  871. telling us

  872. not only do God's people

  873. have access

  874. to the tree of life

  875. and will have that

  876. permanently

  877. and everlastingly

  878. in heaven,

  879. they have a right to it.

  880. What do you mean

  881. they have a right to it?

  882. I hear you asking.

  883. How can they actually

  884. be shut out

  885. because of their sin

  886. and at the same time

  887. come to have a right

  888. in it again

  889. to have access

  890. to the tree of life?

  891. Well, they have a right

  892. in it because of

  893. what Jesus has done

  894. and who He is.

  895. He gives them the right.

  896. They have their right

  897. in Him.

  898. He has opened the way.

  899. He is the Savior.

  900. He is the one

  901. who has brought us

  902. this life.

  903. And as He opens

  904. the way to it,

  905. so God is assuring us,

  906. I give you the right

  907. to the tree of life

  908. when your trust is in Me,

  909. when you live by faith in Me.

  910. And you know,

  911. that's something

  912. surely that encourages you

  913. tonight

  914. amongst the many times

  915. that we doubt,

  916. the many times

  917. that we have

  918. things in our lives

  919. and in our thinking,

  920. in our mind,

  921. where we think

  922. perhaps less of ourselves

  923. than really God

  924. thinks of us

  925. as His people.

  926. God is reminding us,

  927. you have rights

  928. that I have given you.

  929. You have the right

  930. of being My children.

  931. You have the right

  932. of adoption,

  933. being heirs

  934. with an inheritance.

  935. You have a right

  936. to that inheritance.

  937. You have a right

  938. to the tree of life.

  939. You have a right to it

  940. because the Savior Himself

  941. has opened

  942. and given you

  943. that right.

  944. And in Him,

  945. nobody is going to

  946. take that right

  947. away from you.

  948. The devil can actually

  949. tempt you

  950. and you can actually

  951. have many times

  952. of doubt

  953. and of difficulty

  954. and of struggle

  955. in your Christian life.

  956. But one thing

  957. that cannot be taken

  958. from you

  959. is the right

  960. to the tree of life,

  961. the right that God

  962. gives His people

  963. to the life

  964. that He has bought

  965. for them in Jesus

  966. at such great cost.

  967. But they may have

  968. a right to the tree of life

  969. and may go through

  970. to enjoy that

  971. for themselves.

  972. And you see,

  973. the supply from the tree

  974. on each side of the river,

  975. the tree of life

  976. with its twelve kinds

  977. of fruit yielding

  978. its fruit each month.

  979. The leaves of the tree

  980. were for the healing

  981. of the nations.

  982. The nations,

  983. as they are brought,

  984. people from all nations

  985. to come to know the Lord.

  986. Heaven is going

  987. to be populated

  988. by multitudes,

  989. by multitudes.

  990. And they're from all parts

  991. of the world,

  992. all backgrounds,

  993. all races,

  994. all singing

  995. the same song,

  996. all joining

  997. in the victory

  998. of Jesus.

  999. No rivalries,

  1000. no conflicts,

  1001. no war times,

  1002. no divisions,

  1003. no jealousies.

  1004. all that's gone.

  1005. All that's left

  1006. in this world.

  1007. It's all about

  1008. peace

  1009. and life

  1010. and harmony

  1011. and sharing together

1012. in the wonder of heaven.

1013. And so the tree of life,

  1014. and it's a reminder

1015. that it yields its fruit

  1016. every month

1017. as you see in that

  1018. a reference to

  1019. the constancy

  1020. of the supply.

  1021. It's really a way

  1022. of saying,

  1023. well, you can't say

  1024. as time goes by

  1025. in heaven

  1026. or in eternity,

  1027. but let's just use

  1028. the phrase

  1029. as time goes by,

  1030. as you spend

  1031. eternity

  1032. in eternity,

  1033. there's a constant

  1034. supply of life

  1035. and will be

1036. and it will go on

  1037. forever.

  1038. Because as chapter 7

  1039. puts it,

1040. the Lamb who is in the

  1041. midst of the throne

  1042. shall be their pastor

  1043. and shall lead them

  1044. to living waters

  1045. of life.

  1046. And God shall wipe

  1047. away every tear

  1048. from their eyes.

  1049. What a prospect.

  1050. What a vision

  1051. of the future

  1052. for God's people

  1053. in heaven

1054. to use in the present

  1055. as we said

  1056. at the beginning

1057. to take for your comfort,

  1058. for your assurance

  1059. if you're a Christian

  1060. tonight.

  1061. And that's why

1062. this is such a wonderful

1063. feature of the New Eden,

  1064. the throne,

  1065. the river,

  1066. the tree.

  1067. Therefore use now

  1068. in our thinking.

  1069. Let's think secondly

  1070. though of fellowship

  1071. with God.

  1072. I'll need to be

  1073. briefer with this.

  1074. Fellowship with God

  1075. and really there's

  1076. two things in that

  1077. fellowship with God

  1078. that these verses

  1079. bring out for us.

  1080. First of all,

  1081. there's access

  1082. to God

  1083. all the time.

  1084. You see it's speaking

  1085. here of the face

  1086. of God

  1087. where it says

  1088. his servants,

  1089. his servants,

  1090. there's no more curse

  1091. and therefore

  1092. his servants

  1093. will worship him.

1094. They will see his face

  1095. and his name

1096. will be in their foreheads.

  1097. Now seeing the face

  1098. of God,

  1099. the face of God

1100. is often in the Bible

  1101. a description

1102. of the favor of God.

  1103. When God's face

  1104. shines upon people

  1105. that's a way of saying

  1106. they have his favor.

  1107. When God's face

  1108. is frowned

  1109. against others

  1110. that's a sign

  1111. of his wrath

  1112. or his anger

  1113. or his displeasure.

  1114. But here is

  1115. the face of God.

1116. They see the face of God.

  1117. Through Jesus Christ

  1118. they are aware

  1119. of God's presence

  1120. as never before.

  1121. And as they see

  1122. the face of God

  1123. they see

  1124. that wonderful acceptance

  1125. that they have.

  1126. We could go through

  1127. some passages

  1128. tonight in Ephesians

    Ephesians 2 chapter mention

  1129. chapter 2

  1130. which speaks of them

  1131. being again

  1132. out with

  1133. the life

  1134. that God has

  1135. for his people

  1136. until they come

  1137. to know

  1138. the Lord Jesus Christ

  1139. himself.

  1140. You know the chapter

  1141. very well.

  1142. Ephesians 2

  1143. and verse 12

  1144. Remember

  1145. that you were

  1146. at that time

  1147. separated from Christ

  1148. alienated from

  1149. the commonwealth

  1150. of Israel

  1151. strangers to the

  1152. covenants of promise

  1153. having no hope

  1154. and without God

  1155. in the world.

  1156. That's the description.

  1157. Just as the description

  1158. was outside

  1159. of the gates

  1160. of Eden.

  1161. without God

  1162. without hope

  1163. in the world.

  1164. And what's next?

  1165. Christ.

  1166. But

  1167. now in Christ

  1168. Jesus

  1169. you who were

  1170. once far off

  1171. have been brought

  1172. near

  1173. by the blood

  1174. of Christ

  1175. for he himself

  1176. is our peace.

  1177. Now he's talking

  1178. there about peace

  1179. between Jew and Gentile

  1180. but it's true

  1181. on that other level

  1182. as well

  1183. that for us

  1184. as one time

  1185. outside of the

  1186. possession of life

  1187. of the peace

  1188. that we have now

  1189. with God

  1190. as Christians

  1191. but now

  1192. he says

  1193. it's no longer

  1194. how it was

  1195. it's now a different

  1196. situation altogether

  1197. you have

  1198. this peace

1199. because he is our peace.

  1200. As you go through

  1201. the Bible

  1202. as you go through

  1203. the New Testament

  1204. especially

  1205. it's not just

  1206. the New Testament

1207. you find in the Old Testament

  1208. too

  1209. these great words

  1210. of context

  1211. but

  1212. God

  1213. but

  1214. God

  1215. but

  1216. now

  1217. you see

  1218. he's talking

  1219. about the total

  1220. change

  1221. that grace

  1222. has brought about

  1223. that God

  1224. has brought about

  1225. that salvation

  1226. is

  1227. think of Psalm 130

  1228. Lord if you were

  1229. to mark our

  1230. iniquity against us

  1231. Lord who could

  1232. stand

  1233. but there is

  1234. forgiveness

  1235. with you

  1236. instead of

  1237. marking our

  1238. iniquity

  1239. placing it on

  1240. a record

  1241. and leaving it

  1242. there

  1243. for our

  1244. condemnation

  1245. forever

  1246. there is

  1247. he says

  1248. forgiveness

  1249. with you

  1250. there's loving

  1251. kindness

  1252. with you

  1253. there's grace

  1254. with you

  1255. and here you find

  1256. in this passage

  1257. in Revelation

  1258. that

  1259. they shall see

  1260. his face

  1261. and his name

  1262. will be

  1263. in their foreheads

  1264. what does that mean

  1265. it means

  1266. they have the mark

  1267. of ownership

  1268. upon them

  1269. possibly going back

  1270. to

  1271. Paul's own days

  1272. when there would be

  1273. the practice

  1274. for slaves

  1275. to be branded

  1276. with a mark

  1277. to show who

  1278. they belong to

  1279. not saying that

  1280. that was

  1281. commendable

  1282. these were the days

  1283. they were living

  1284. in

  1285. but

  1286. if you are

  1287. marked

  1288. as a slave

  1289. in whatever way

  1290. that mark

  1291. that branding

  1292. showed who

  1293. you belong to

  1294. and in a

  1295. spiritual fashion

  1296. the Lord's people

  1297. are marked out

  1298. by himself

1299. and if you go to

  1300. 1 Corinthians

    1 Corinthians 6:19–20

  1301. chapter 6

  1302. verses 19

  1303. to 20

  1304. he says

  1305. you have been

  1306. bought with a price

  1307. therefore you are

  1308. not your own

  1309. you belong to

  1310. God

  1311. what was the price

  1312. of purchase

  1313. for us

  1314. as sinful

  1315. undeserving

  1316. human beings

  1317. the blood of

  1318. Christ

  1319. the death

  1320. of Christ

  1321. and when you

  1322. come to place

  1323. your faith

  1324. in Christ

  1325. in that Christ

  1326. who died

  1327. and rose again

  1328. and now sits

  1329. on the throne

  1330. you are actually

  1331. then marked

  1332. by God

  1333. you are marked

  1334. as his

  1335. and you can say

  1336. you are under

  1337. his ownership

  1338. and that's not

  1339. an ominous thing

  1340. although there's

  1341. a side to it

  1342. that we remind

  1343. ourselves of

  1344. every day

  1345. where we say

  1346. to ourselves

  1347. well we are

  1348. actually the

  1349. children of God

  1350. so our behaviour

  1351. in the world

  1352. is important

  1353. as the late

  1354. Queen Mother

  1355. once said

  1356. at one time

  1357. when the royal

  1358. family were

  1359. arriving at

  1360. D-side

  1361. and coming off

  1362. the train

  1363. and Queen Elizabeth

  1364. II's children

  1365. were then quite

  1366. young

  1367. and the Queen

  1368. Mother

  1369. as she was

  1370. then

  1371. was heard

  1372. to say

  1373. by those

  1374. standing nearby

  1375. now remember

  1376. children

  1377. royal children

  1378. royal manners

  1379. royal children

  1380. royal manners

  1381. you are not

  1382. your own

  1383. the apostle

  1384. said

  1385. you've been

  1386. bought

  1387. with a price

  1388. therefore

  1389. honour God

  1390. glorify God

  1391. in your body

  1392. and spirit

  1393. which are God's

  1394. there his name

  1395. will be on

  1396. their foreheads

  1397. they will be

  1398. known as the

  1399. people of God

  1400. they will know

  1401. themselves

  1402. as the people

  1403. of God

  1404. and there will

  1405. be no doubts

  1406. in heaven

  1407. as to who

  1408. they are

  1409. and who

  1410. they belong

  1411. to

  1412. and you know

  1413. one of the

  1414. wonderful things

  1415. is they will

  1416. know themselves

  1417. not just

  1418. fully known

  1419. by God

  1420. and that

  1421. that is the

  1422. case

  1423. but also

  1424. fully loved

  1425. one of the

  1426. great human

  1427. requirements

  1428. is to know

  1429. that you are

  1430. loved

  1431. there are millions

  1432. of people in the

  1433. world tonight

  1434. who can't say

  1435. I know that I am

  1436. loved and it's

  1437. precious to me

  1438. because they have

  1439. no source of love

  1440. even on human

  1441. in a human way

  1442. they don't know

  1443. of anybody who

  1444. loves them

  1445. they're desperate

  1446. they're struggling

  1447. with life itself

  1448. but in Jesus

  1449. you know who's

  1450. loved you

  1451. and in heaven

  1452. you will know

  1453. that you have

  1454. been loved

  1455. and are loved

  1456. and will be

  1457. loved

  1458. for all eternity

  1459. and the comfort

  1460. of that in heaven

  1461. is indescribably

  1462. great

  1463. and it's that

  1464. which you look

  1465. forward to

  1466. through faith

  1467. in Christ

  1468. and they shall

  1469. reign

  1470. forever and

  1471. ever

  1472. in other words

  1473. they will share

  1474. in that victory

  1475. of Jesus

  1476. they will not be

  1477. on the same

  1478. level as him

  1479. he is the king

  1480. of kings

  1481. and lord

  1482. of lords

  1483. but they share

  1484. in his victory

  1485. just like you see

  1486. in a royal family

  1487. privileges

  1488. whatever you might

  1489. say of that

  1490. that's not our

  1491. business

  1492. but where you have

  1493. a royal family

  1494. and members

  1495. of that family

  1496. they share

  1497. in those privileges

  1498. they share

  1499. in essentially

  1500. what the reign

  1501. of that king

  1502. or queen

  1503. is about

  1504. and very much

  1505. more so

  1506. is the case

  1507. with heaven

  1508. because all

  1509. those who come

  1510. to be brought

  1511. to heaven

  1512. by the grace

  1513. of God

  1514. they shall reign

  1515. with Christ

  1516. forever and

  1517. ever

  1518. they will share

  1519. in the victory

  1520. of Jesus

  1521. endlessly

  1522. throughout

  1523. eternity

  1524. what a prospect

  1525. that is

  1526. there's nothing

  1527. like that

  1528. in this world

  1529. the longest

  1530. reign in this

  1531. world

  1532. will come

  1533. to an end

  1534. sharing

  1535. with a monarch

  1536. in his

  1537. or her

  1538. kingship

  1539. or queenship

  1540. or reign

  1541. will itself

  1542. come to an end

  1543. the moment

  1544. they pass on

  1545. but this is

  1546. a reign

  1547. unlike any

  1548. other reign

  1549. the lamb

  1550. in the midst

  1551. of the throne

  1552. reigns forever

  1553. and they reign

  1554. and shall reign

  1555. forever and

  1556. ever with them

  1557. and so tonight

  1558. here is the

  1559. question

  1560. for ourselves

  1561. tonight

  1562. who

  1563. is our life

  1564. ruled by

  1565. where is

  1566. our confidence

  1567. on what

  1568. and in whom

  1569. is our trust

  1570. what is our

  1571. relation

  1572. with this

  1573. throne of

  1574. God

  1575. what are we

  1576. made of this

  1577. throne of God

  1578. revealed to us

  1579. in the Bible

  1580. where does the

  1581. throne of God

  1582. feature in your

  1583. own life

  1584. and in my

  1585. life

  1586. is it the

  1587. case with you

  1588. that you've

  1589. come to share

  1590. in the victory

  1591. of Christ

  1592. through your

  1593. trusting in

  1594. him

  1595. and accepting

  1596. of him

  1597. and giving

  1598. yourself to

  1599. him

  1600. by the grace

  1601. of God

  1602. or to put it

  1603. in Jesus'

  1604. own words

  1605. where is

  1606. your treasure

  1607. let me just

  1608. remind you of

  1609. what he said

  1610. in the

  1611. Sermon on the

  1612. Mount

  1613. do not lay

  1614. up for

  1615. yourselves

  1616. treasures

  1617. on earth

  1618. where moth

  1619. and rust

  1620. destroy

  1621. and where

  1622. thieves

  1623. break in

  1624. and steal

  1625. but lay

  1626. up for

  1627. yourselves

  1628. treasures

  1629. in heaven

  1630. where neither

  1631. moth nor rust

  1632. destroys

  1633. and where

  1634. thieves do not

  1635. break in

  1636. and steal

  1637. for where

  1638. your treasure

  1639. is

  1640. there will

  1641. your heart

  1642. be also

  1643. where is

  1644. your heart

  1645. where is

  1646. your treasure

  1647. is it in

  1648. this world

  1649. well if so

  1650. that's where

  1651. your heart

  1652. is

  1653. is your

  1654. treasure in

  1655. the Lord

  1656. himself

  1657. in heaven

  1658. if so

  1659. that's where

  1660. your heart

  1661. is

  1662. and it's

  1663. not what

  1664. you want

  1665. to lay

  1666. up for

  1667. yourself

  1668. treasures

  1669. in heaven

  1670. may God

  1671. bless

  1672. his word

  1673. to us

  1674. now we're

  1675. going to

  1676. conclude by

  1677. singing

  1678. psalm 72

  1679. psalm 72

  1680. in the

  1681. Scottish

  1682. Psalter

  1683. that's on

  1684. page

  1685. 314

  1686. to

  1687. June

  1688. Effingham

  1689. singing

  1690. from the

  1691. middle of

  1692. verse 16

  1693. the final

  1694. four verses

  1695. page

  1696. 314

  1697. the city

  1698. shall be

  1699. flourishing

  1700. her citizens

  1701. abound

  1702. in number

  1703. shall

  1704. like to

  1705. the grass

  1706. that grows

  1707. upon the

  1708. ground

  1709. there's a

  1710. prophecy

  1711. of the

  1712. final state

  1713. of things

  1714. for God's

  1715. people

  1716. what the

  1717. city of

  1718. heaven

  1719. will actually

  1720. be like

  1721. and then

  1722. his name

  1723. the name

  1724. of the

  1725. Lord

  1726. forever

  1727. shall

  1728. endure

  1729. last like

  1730. the sun

  1731. it shall

  1732. men

  1733. shall be

  1734. blessed

  1735. in him

  1736. and blessed

  1737. all nations

  1738. shall him

  1739. call

  1740. these four
