  1. We're going to begin by singing to God's praise in Psalm 130, the Scottish Psalter Version, Psalm 130, page 421 of the Psalm 103.

  2. The benefits that we have through the Lord's graciousness towards us, and one of these is seen very much so in this Psalm when we have the assurance of the forgiveness as we cry out to the Lord.

  3. Psalm 130, Lord, from the depths to thee I cried my voice, Lord, do thou hear, and to my supplications voice give an attentive ear.

  4. Lord, who shall stand if thou, O Lord, should mark iniquity, but yet with thee forgivenesses that feared thou mayest be?

  5. We'll sing the whole of this psalm, the tune is Martyrdom, and we'll stand to sing.

  6. For from the depths to thee I cried my voice, Lord, do thou hear,

  7. Until my supplications voice give an attentive ear.

  8. Lord, who shall stand if thou, O Lord, should mark iniquity,

  9. A gently forgive, for forgivenesses that fear thou mayest be?

  10. I wait for God, my soul not wait, my hope is in His fire.

  11. More than may not for morning watch, my soul wait for the Lord.

  12. I say, Lord, may not for morning watch, my soul wait for the Lord.

  13. I say, Lord, may not for morning watch, the morning light to see,

  14. Let Israel open the Lord, for with Him mercy be.

  15. Unplenteous redemption is ever come within,

  16. And from all His iniquities, He is the shall redeem.

  17. Let's bow our heads in a word of prayer. Let us pray.

  18. Lord, our gracious God, as we come, uniting our hearts in prayer at this time,

  19. We thank you for the very great bonds that there are even in that,

  20. That we come, not just with one or two, offering up a word of prayer,

  21. But that together we come, offering up all our hearts' desires to you.

  22. We come lifting up our voices to you in song,

  23. Thankful for the great joy that there is in praising you.

  24. The delight that there is in knowing that we can sing to you of the great blessings that are ours

  25. Through your word and through your spirit,

  26. Through all that we have in Christ,

  27. That we have so much to give thanks for.

  28. And so that that leads us in then to praise you in our prayers.

  29. And all of us together at this time,

  30. We can all perhaps number the benefits that are ours in Christ.

  31. Some of them will be the same.

  32. And for some of us, the benefits will be quite different.

  33. And yet each of us has that great reason to rejoice in you and to give thanks to you.

  34. And we pray that this evening we will be able to find that sense of thanksgiving,

  35. And that encouragement that comes through hearing your word and reminding us, Lord,

  36. Of your gracious benefits towards us.

  37. And we pray, Lord, this evening that that sense of the power of your word will be present with us.

  38. For we know it's not just our words that we say together,

  39. But that we come hearing your word, your truth, speaking to us and ministering to us.

  40. We thank you that we are reminded so much of that.

  41. And even the psalm that we have sung, we sing there of waiting on the Lord,

  42. Our soul waiting, because our hope is in your word.

  43. And that is what we come to do this evening, to wait upon you in that way,

  44. With our very souls praising you for the joy that there is in your word.

  45. And so may you bless your word to us as we read it,

  46. And as we come to consider it together.

  47. We thank you that it is a word that speaks into our lives,

  48. Not just for this time of worship,

  49. But it is a word that goes with us even into the week ahead.

  50. We thank you that your word is on our lips throughout each day of our lives.

  51. For we come to read it in our own quiet times.

  52. We come to meditate upon it in our own different ways, even during the week.

  53. We thank you to be able to listen to others preaching your word.

  54. We thank you to be able to listen to so much that leads us into your words,

  55. With a variety of podcasts available for our teaching.

  56. We thank you for so many ways that your word goes out,

  57. Even over the radio when we think of a thought for the day each morning.

  58. We thank you that there is still that instruction from your word in many places.

  59. We thank you for your truth that is read at particular times,

  60. Even in a nation that has turned away from it so much.

  61. We look back on this past week of remembrance,

  62. And we know that your word was read and heard in so many different places,

  63. By so many different people.

  64. And we thank you for all the means that there are for the word of truth to go out,

  65. With that great promise that your word does not return empty,

  66. But accomplishes so much for your purpose.

  67. And we pray, Lord, that even in these days ahead,

  68. That your word would go out with that power.

  69. For it is your word that is able to convict and to convert

  70. The soul that lies in sin, as the psalmist says.

  71. And so we pray that your word will just resonate with people,

  72. Near and far.

  73. It doesn't take much, O Lord, for we know that even in our own experience,

  74. How even just a sentence or even one word can be used by you.

  75. It can stop us in our tracks.

  76. It can challenge us.

  77. It can remind us of our greatest need in this world.

  78. And that we have a Lord who is Jesus Christ.

  79. One before whom all must appear.

  80. And give an account, whether for good or evil.

  81. And even these words themselves, they can resonate in our ears.

  82. And they can speak to us.

  83. They can remind us, Lord, that although our days seem to go on as normal,

  84. As we go into a new week, it just seems like any other week.

  85. And yet your word reminds us that the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

  86. And that we are to be prepared for that day.

  87. For it could be at any moment.

  88. We thank you that even the word eternity has such a powerful ring to it.

  89. It reminds us that despite so many who say we live and die and that is it,

  90. That there is an eternity for us all.

  91. And we pray that every word that has come through you to this world, down through all the generations,

  92. That you would use it even in these days, O Lord.

  93. That your word would bear much fruit.

  94. We do ask, Lord, and thank you for those who translate your word.

  95. We marvel at the number of languages that there are in the world.

  96. How many different tongues there are to speak.

  97. So many we don't understand ourselves.

  98. So many are beyond us.

  99. And yet, O Lord, you have your people through all corners of the world.

  100. And we thank you that there are many who are being used by you to translate the word of God into all the different languages of this world.

  101. And we pray for that endeavor to be blessed by you and for people to receive the word with great gladness.

  102. And we thank you that throughout the world you are building your church.

  103. And that we have that great assurance in your word that you are one who is working to bring your kingdom power into the midst of this world.

  104. Where there's a power beyond any other.

  105. Even when we think of the powers of this world and the power that they seem to have at their fingertips in many ways.

  106. And yet it is nothing compared to your power over us.

  107. And so, Lord, look down upon us this evening.

  108. We pray, O Lord, that you will have mercy upon us.

  109. And as we were singing this morning from that Psalm, Psalm 67, that is our prayer again this evening.

  110. Lord, bless and pity us.

  111. Shine on us with your face.

  112. We pray that even now, Lord, that you would do so.

  113. And we ask, O Lord, that you will meet us in all our different needs at this time.

  114. We thank you for the gathering of your people here.

  115. We thank you for the means to broadcast through the internet as well.

  116. We thank you for all who are tuning in at home.

  117. And we thank you for the great way that we are able to share together around your word.

  118. And we pray that those who would be able to be out would be encouraged to do so.

  119. That there would be finding a fellowship with one another.

  120. Not just in coming to sit in the pew, but in coming to sit with one another and share with one another.

  121. Even to have a word among ourselves as we leave this place tonight.

  122. Lord, we thank you that so often there are words of encouragement.

  123. And even if it's just, hello, how are you?

  124. We thank you for the bonds that exist.

  125. That there is a care and a concern for one another.

  126. We pray that you would bless our fellowship.

  127. That you would help us to encourage one another.

  128. To strengthen one another.

  129. To love one another.

  130. To pray for one another.

  131. That we would find ourselves as a people having our bonds in Christ strengthened day by day.

  132. And we ask, oh Lord, that you would go before us in all that we do as a congregation.

  133. We think of the vacancy at this time.

  134. And the vacancy meeting on Tuesday.

  135. We pray for your wisdom.

  136. For your guidance.

  137. For your help.

  138. For us as a congregation.

  139. And as we're reflecting this morning for many others who are vacant congregations throughout our presbytery.

  140. And throughout our land.

  141. We thank you that you are Lord of the harvest.

  142. And able to provide.

  143. And send out laborers into the harvest field.

  144. And we continue to pray to see your hand upon us for good in that.

  145. We continue to pray to see your work of salvation in our midst.

  146. As we think of another communion time soon to be with us here as a congregation.

  147. As we come to, in a special way, remember the Lord's death till he come.

  148. And we thank you that we can come and prepare ourselves even now for that.

  149. And ask that there will be many who maybe have not sat at the Lord's table as yet.

  150. Who would have their hearts touched and convicted.

  151. And know that they have an assurance from you that you will be with them.

  152. That that is a promise that you give.

  153. For you say you will never leave us or forsake us.

  154. And that is one thing that is true as we take a step in faith.

  155. That you will be with us to uphold and to strengthen.

  156. And so we pray Lord that we would be encouraged in all of these things.

  157. We pray too for those who are struggling in different ways.

  158. Remember those who are grieving.

  159. We know that seldom a week goes by when there is not sad news for somebody within our congregation.

  160. Sometimes it can be seen coming and other times it comes so unexpectedly.

  161. But we know Lord that we are in your hands for these things.

  162. And we pray that you will help those who need you in that way.

  163. Remember those who are unwell in hospital or homes.

  164. Or even their own homes Lord.

  165. Surround them with your love and your grace.

  166. And we pray Lord that you will help us to remember one another in these times.

  167. Lord continue with us in our worship at this time.

  168. Go before us and help us in the week ahead.

  169. To go on in your strength.

  170. Even the strength of the eagle as we read in your word.

  171. That we would have it renewed within us Lord.

  172. That you would encourage us and build us up in our faith.

  173. And help us to be strong in the Lord.

  174. To be courageous.

  175. To be bold for you at all times.

  176. And to all around us.

  177. That you would help us to be that salt and light in this world in which we live.

  178. So Lord bless us.

  179. Go before us now.

  180. Hear us in all our prayers.

  181. Hear our confession of sin.

  182. And you Lord as we confess that we fall short of your glory so often.

  183. But thankful for these words that we have sung.

  184. That yet there is forgiveness with you.

  185. So Lord cleanse us from all our sin.

  186. And guide us in all our thoughts now.

  187. And in the reading of your word.

  188. And in all we do.

  189. May it be to your glory.

  190. And we ask all of these things in the name of our precious saviour Jesus Christ.

  191. For his sake and glory.

  192. Amen.

  193. We'll again sing to God's praise.

  194. This time in Psalm 92.

  195. And let's sing Psalms version.

  196. This is Psalm 92a.

  197. Page 122 of the Psalm books.

  198. We're going to sing.

  199. We're going to sing from verse 5.

  200. Down to the end of the Psalm.

  201. Psalm 92a.

  202. Page 122 of verse 5.

  203. The tune is free church.

  204. How great are all your works.

  205. O Lord.

  206. Your thoughts.

  207. How deep and grand.

  208. The senseless one does not perceive.

  209. Fools do not understand.

  210. Although the wicked spring like grass.

  211. The foolish do not see.

  212. That all who flourish in their sin will die.

  213. Eternally there's that warning to us there.

  214. But then in verse 8.

  215. But Lord you are forevermore.

  216. Exalted very high.

  217. We have a Lord who we look to.

  218. Who is there over all things.

  219. And so we pray that we may know his blessing with us in these things.

  220. We sing from verse 5 down to the end of the Psalm.

  221. We stand to sing to God's praise.

  222. Amen.

  223. The senseless one does not perceive.

  224. Wholes do not understand.

  225. Although the wicked spring like grass.

  226. That foolish do not see.

  227. That God who punishes in their sin will die eternally.

  228. But Lord you are forevermore.

  229. Exalted very high.

  230. All evil who hurts will be crushed.

  231. Your foes will surely die.

  232. You make me strong.

  233. That voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque voyque

  234. The leaders flourishing, the righteous soul will be.

  235. And planted in the house of God, will grow abundantly.

  236. Though in old age they still bear fruit, they will stay fresh and strong.

  237. They will proclaim the Lord his just, my all who does no wrong.

  238. Amen.

  239. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me.

  240. Bless his holy name.

  241. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.

  242. Who forgives all your iniquity?

  243. Who heals all your diseases?

  244. Who redeems your life from the pit?

  245. Who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy?

  246. Who satisfies you with good, so that your youth is renewed like the eagles?

  247. The Lord works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed.

  248. He made known his ways to Moses, his acts to the people of Israel.

  249. The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love.

  250. He will not always chide, nor will he keep his anger forever.

  251. He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities.

  252. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love towards those who fear him.

  253. As far as east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.

  254. As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.

  255. For he knows our frame, he remembers that we are dust.

  256. As for man, his days are like grass, he flourishes like a flower of the field.

  257. For the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place knows it no more.

  258. But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him,

  259. and his righteousness to children's children, to those who keep his covenant and remember to do his commandments.

  260. The Lord has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all.

  261. Bless the Lord, O you his angels, you mighty ones who do his word,

  262. obeying the voice of his word.

  263. Bless the Lord, all his hosts, his ministers, who do his will.

  264. Bless the Lord, all his works, in all places of his dominion.

  265. Bless the Lord, O my soul.

  266. Amen, and may God bless that reading from his word.

  267. And before we come back to look at the beginning of this psalm, we're going to sing again to God's praise.

  268. Psalm 128, in the Singed Psalms version, page 172.

  269. Psalm 128, page 172.

  270. The tune is Duke Street.

  271. How blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk the way that he has shown.

  272. Success and blessing will be yours.

  273. You'll eat the fruit that you have grown.

  274. Your wife will be a fruitful vine, and round your table will be placed.

  275. Your children, like young olive shoots, thus he who fears the Lord is blessed.

  276. May you behold Jerusalem's good from Zion.

  277. May God's blessing flow.

  278. Your children's children.

  279. May you see, may God on Israel, peace bestow.

  280. A short psalm, but a psalm that's filled with so many of the blessings that arose from the hand of God.

  281. Psalm 128, and we'll sing the whole of the psalm to the tune Duke Street.

  282. We stand to sing.

  283. How blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk the way that he has shown.

  284. Success and blessing will be yours.

  285. You'll eat the fruit that you have grown.

  286. Your wife will be a fruitful vine, and round your table will be placed.

  287. Your children, like young olive shoots.

  288. Thus he who rears the Lord is blessed.

  289. May you behold Jerusalem's good from Zion.

  290. May God's blessing flow.

  291. Your children, may you behold Jerusalem.

  292. May God on Israel, peace be so.

  293. May God on Israel, peace be so.

  294. All his benefits.

  295. Who forgives all your iniquity.

  296. Who heals all your diseases.

  297. Who redeems your life from the pit.

  298. Who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy.

  299. Who satisfies you with good.

  300. So that your youth is renewed like the eagles.

  301. Forget not all his benefits.

  302. And then the psalmist here goes on to list for us a number of benefits.

  303. And it's these benefits that we're going to consider together this evening.

  304. The psalms are always very personal for us.

  305. And they speak to us in so many different ways.

  306. Speak to us of day-to-day experiences that we go through.

  307. They speak to us about so many different things that are going on around us as well.

  308. And so we can often see the psalms speaking outwardly for us.

  309. But as you look at the psalms as well, you find that there are also times, and I'm sure you know this,

  310. that they speak within us as well.

  311. They remind us of just what's going on in our hearts.

  312. What's going on inside us.

  313. That there is nothing hidden from the Lord.

  314. And sometimes you see the psalmist bringing many complaints.

  315. But before God, you see him coming to the Lord with a burden.

  316. You see him coming, as we might say, he's coming with a bit of a moan towards God.

  317. Psalm 13, for example.

  318. The psalmist begins the psalm saying,

  319. How long, O Lord?

  320. Will you forget us forever?

  321. How long will you hide your face from me?

  322. So the psalm, psalmist comes with a complaint to God.

  323. And you find that occurring regular throughout the psalms.

  324. And we can often be very thankful that that's there,

  325. because so often that reminds us of what goes on within our own hearts as well.

  326. How often we're coming before God,

  327. and it is a bit of a complaining attitude towards him.

  328. We all have days like that.

  329. But also we see in the psalms, and here in Psalm 103,

  330. we're given the other side of the coin, as it were, as well.

  331. That we shouldn't always be like that.

  332. David's own relationship with God was one where, yes, he came so often with complaints,

  333. but more so he came recognizing his dependence on God,

  334. and very much his thankfulness towards God.

  335. He recognizes God's great steadfast love, as it's often called,

  336. that covenant love that God has shown towards him.

  337. And he comes with much thanksgiving for that,

  338. and he comes praising God.

  339. And that's what we see in this psalm, Psalm 103.

  340. He's very much coming to God with a sense of thanksgiving,

  341. the sense of praise towards God.

  342. Bless the Lord, he says,

  343. Oh, my soul, and all that is within me.

  344. It's like he's coming to the Lord and saying,

  345. Please don't just see me as someone who's always complaining.

  346. Don't see me as someone who's just always got something to moan about.

  347. Because I know that there are many things that I should be thankful for.

  348. And that speaks to our hearts as well.

  349. It certainly speaks to my own heart.

  350. There are times when I feel all I'm doing would be complaining,

  351. or grumbling, or moaning about something.

  352. Even to God, just bringing complaints to him.

  353. And I have to come and say,

  354. Lord, please don't see me as someone who's always complaining,

  355. who always sees the sense of almost being unthankful for life and all that it entails.

  356. I recognize, and we should recognize, just like the psalmist,

  357. that we have so much to remember and give thanks to God for,

  358. and to praise his goodness towards us.

  359. Bless the Lord, O my soul.

  360. He goes on to say here in verse 2,

  361. And forget not all his benefits.

  362. Forget not all his benefits.

  363. How easy it is for us to forget his benefits.

  364. And yet, when we see in this psalm,

  365. he reminds us of all the benefits that are ours

  366. through his grace towards us.

  367. Now, when you think of the word itself, benefits,

  368. in our day and age, it maybe automatically takes our minds towards something like child benefit,

  369. or support benefits when we're out of work,

  370. that kind of help that we get in time of need,

  371. which can often be seen in a negative sense.

  372. But there are benefits there for the good of people in times of need.

  373. And that's what we see here with the Lord.

  374. Bless the Lord, O my soul,

  375. and forget not all his benefits,

  376. is recognizing our dependence on him.

  377. There are times when we are struggling,

  378. times that we are in great need,

  379. times that we see that our strength is failing,

  380. and yet we are reminded,

  381. don't forget the benefits of the Lord.

  382. So if we are feeling that sense of discouragement,

  383. if we are feeling that sense of putting ourselves down

  384. and just seeing ourselves as a people

  385. who are always grumbling about something,

  386. then we come like David and say,

  387. but Lord, look, we have so much to be thankful for,

  388. and we are.

  389. And we see your benefits,

  390. and we don't forget your benefits,

  391. because we remind ourselves of them again and again.

  392. And so his benefits are then outlined for us here

  393. in verse 3 to verse 5.

  394. And it's these benefits I want us to touch on,

  395. just to go through them one at a time.

  396. And there are five benefits for us here

  397. that he outlines to us.

  398. We see forgiveness.

  399. We see healing.

  400. We see redemption.

  401. We see crowning.

  402. And we see satisfying.

  403. You see the word who there in verses 3 to verse 5.

  404. And it's, and who does all of these things for us?

  405. Who gives us these things, these benefits?

  406. It is the Lord.

  407. And it is the Lord that we are to be thankful for,

  408. for all of these things.

  409. And so it says,

  410. Bless the Lord, O my soul.

  411. Forget not all his benefits.

  412. And then we see the first one.

  413. Who forgives all your iniquity.

  414. Forgiveness is there,

  415. almost as you would say,

  416. top of the list.

  417. Forgiveness.

  418. That the Lord is the one

  419. who is able to forgive.

  420. And what a benefit that there is in that for us.

  421. Even in our grumbling,

  422. even in our moaning towards God,

  423. he is able to forgive us in that.

  424. And there are so many times

  425. when we feel like poor Christians.

  426. There are so many times when we feel overwhelmed

  427. by different things in this world.

  428. And as the hymn writer says,

  429. when Satan tempts me to despair.

  430. There are these times,

  431. and the psalmist sees it himself in his experience.

  432. When there are times when you feel

  433. just that sense of despair,

  434. when you feel at your most wretched point.

  435. Is there a better benefit to remember than

  436. who forgives all your iniquity?

  437. The hymn says this,

  438. when Satan tempts me to despair

  439. and tells me of the guilt within.

  440. Upward I look and see him there

  441. who made an end to all my sin.

  442. Because the sinless Savior died,

  443. my sinful soul is counted free.

  444. For God the just is satisfied

  445. to look on him and pardon me.

  446. Who forgives all your iniquity?

  447. How there is that wonder of

  448. how God is able to look on him,

  449. to look on Christ and pardon me.

  450. That there is forgiveness

  451. in the midst of all our sin.

  452. And David himself knows what it is

  453. to confess sin.

  454. He goes through his life

  455. confessing so many different sins

  456. in his experience.

  457. But he also knows how precious forgiveness is.

  458. We sang of it in Psalm 130.

  459. If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities,

  460. who could stand?

  461. But yet there is forgiveness with you

  462. that you may be feared.

  463. The wonder of forgiveness.

  464. The wonder of the one who forgives

  465. all your iniquity.

  466. Is there a greater benefit than that?

  467. There was a story at the time

  468. of Robert the Bruce,

  469. the one who would become

  470. the king of Scotland.

  471. But before that,

  472. he was so often fighting

  473. in different battles.

  474. And the English were often after him

  475. to prevent him from coming

  476. to take the crown.

  477. And there was a time

  478. when they were after him,

  479. chasing him.

  480. And he was just himself

  481. and one of his servants with him,

  482. running away from them.

  483. But they were getting closer and closer.

  484. And there was no getting away from them

  485. because they had these hounds

  486. that they were using

  487. to pick up his scent

  488. and chase him.

  489. And so everywhere he went,

  490. the dogs were picking up his scent.

  491. He just couldn't get away.

  492. And they were running

  493. and running and running.

  494. And eventually they came to a point

  495. where they were stopped.

  496. And the servants said to him,

  497. we just can't go on.

  498. There's no escaping these dogs.

  499. Then Robert the Bruce remembered

  500. that just further on,

  501. there was a river flowing through

  502. an area of the land

  503. that they were running across.

  504. And what dawned on them was

  505. that if they could get across

  506. or into that river

  507. and through that river,

  508. across the other side,

  509. that they could possibly get away

  510. from these dogs

  511. that were chasing them.

  512. And so they made their way

  513. to the river

  514. and they waded in

  515. and made their way upstream

  516. walking through the water.

  517. And then they moved up some way

  518. and then came out

  519. on the other side.

  520. And on the other side,

  521. close by,

  522. was a forest

  523. which they ran into

  524. and made their way

  525. further into the forest.

  526. And just as they looked back,

  527. what they could see

  528. was the dogs coming

  529. to the edge of the river

  530. and they were stopping.

  531. And no matter how much

  532. the English tried

  533. to drive on the dogs

  534. and pick up the scent,

  535. the scent was gone.

  536. The scent had been taken away

  537. by the river.

  538. There was no scent to smell.

  539. There was no way

  540. of finding that track to follow.

  541. It had been washed away.

  542. And as we think of

  543. the one who forgives

  544. all your iniquity

  545. and the one who tempts us

  546. to despair,

  547. where do we come to

  548. but to the cross?

  549. That place where our sin

  550. is forgiven,

  551. where the blood of Jesus Christ

  552. cleanses us from all sin.

  553. So that even the one

  554. who tempts us to despair,

  555. we are beyond his reach.

  556. We are beyond him

  557. because he cannot touch us.

  558. Because God looks on him

  559. who was crucified

  560. and pardons me.

  561. Therefore,

  562. we are able

  563. to see the great benefit

  564. that there is for us

  565. in that,

  566. the one who forgives

  567. all your iniquity.

  568. So that when there are times

  569. when you feel

  570. that sense of despair,

  571. when it's like those dogs

  572. who are just picking up

  573. the scent,

  574. when Satan tempts you

  575. to despair,

  576. you remember

  577. that you are forgiven.

  578. And as you believe

  579. in the Lord Jesus,

  580. as you put your trust

  581. in him,

  582. that he is able

  583. to cleanse you

  584. from all your sins.

  585. The trail is broken

  586. by the blood of Christ

  587. that takes away

  588. our sins.

  589. As somebody put it like this,

  590. the purpose of the cross

  591. is to repair

  592. the irreparable.

  593. What we couldn't repair

  594. ourselves,

  595. the cross

  596. takes care of

  597. as we put our trust

  598. in him.

  599. we know that great benefit

  600. that he forgives

  601. all your iniquities.

  602. Then secondly,

  603. we see here

  604. the one who heals

  605. all your diseases.

  606. Our bodies

  607. are so often afflicted

  608. by sickness

  609. and disease.

  610. It's part of life,

  611. sadly.

  612. It's part of what sin

  613. has brought

  614. into this world.

  615. And we would love

  616. to see healing

  617. for all

  618. our diseases.

  619. But the reality is

  620. that that doesn't

  621. always happen.

  622. We know it.

  623. But he's not

  624. referring here

  625. to the sense of

  626. all our diseases

  627. in this life,

  628. all the things

  629. that cause us

  630. great pain

  631. and that bring death,

  632. that they will be healed.

  633. But he's reminding us

  634. of the one

  635. who heals

  636. all your diseases

  637. as he speaks

  638. of the soul

  639. here.

  640. The soul,

  641. the one

  642. who is able

  643. to restore us

  644. not in a physical way

  645. but in a spiritual way.

  646. The one who is able

  647. to heal us

  648. in that sense

  649. of all the damage

  650. done by sin

  651. in our lives.

  652. You think of

  653. all the things

  654. that go on

  655. in your heart.

  656. The diseases

  657. that are there.

  658. Hate,

  659. greed,

  660. jealousy,

  661. anger,

  662. discouragement,

  663. despair,

  664. guilt,

  665. doubt,

  666. all of these things

  667. that so often

  668. just weigh

  669. so heavy upon us.

  670. And yet here

  671. we are reminded

  672. of the great benefit

  673. of the one

  674. who heals

  675. all your diseases.

  676. The psalm,

  677. Psalm 23,

  678. another psalm

  679. we sing so often.

  680. It reminds us

  681. of that restoration

  682. that he gives.

  683. In verse 2 and 3

  684. it says,

  685. He makes me lie down

  686. in green pastures.

  687. He leads me

  688. beside still waters.

  689. He restores

  690. my soul.

  691. He leads me

  692. in the paths

  693. of righteousness

  694. for his name's sake.

  695. That wonder

  696. of the one

  697. who heals

  698. all our diseases,

  699. who restores

  700. our soul.

  701. What a great benefit

  702. that there is

  703. in that for us

  704. as well.

  705. The remedy

  706. to all the diseases

  707. of our soul

  708. is found

  709. with him.

  710. And the word

  711. is that remedy

  712. for us.

  713. And it's like God,

  714. someone described it

  715. like this,

  716. like God is the doctor

  717. who's on his rounds

  718. on a daily basis.

  719. Visiting all

  720. his patients

  721. and making sure

  722. that all his patients

  723. are being cared for,

  724. that their soul

  725. is being restored.

  726. And that's

  727. the great relationship

  728. that we have

  729. with God

  730. as we come to him

  731. on a daily basis,

  732. as we come

  733. to his word,

  734. as we come to him

  735. in prayer,

  736. as we come to look

  737. to him

  738. and trust in him,

  739. we are reminded

  740. that daily

  741. he graciously cares

  742. for us.

  743. That is what

  744. the Psalm 23

  745. is saying.

  746. He leads me

  747. beside still water.

  748. She is with me.

  749. He restores my soul.

  750. He leads me

  751. in the paths

  752. of righteousness.

  753. This is ongoing.

  754. This is the shepherd's

  755. care for his sheep.

  756. That daily

  757. he gives us

  758. all these benefits.

  759. And so,

  760. we know

  761. that he is with us.

  762. But in order

  763. to know this benefit,

  764. we must take

  765. our medicine.

  766. Psalm 107

  767. is another psalm

  768. that speaks of

  769. our experiences

  770. in life.

  771. In verse 19,

  772. it says,

  773. So as we cry

  774. to the Lord,

  775. as we hear

  776. his word,

  777. he is able

  778. to heal us,

  779. deliver them

  780. from their destruction.

  781. That is what

  782. the Psalm 107

  783. says.

  784. But then it goes on

  785. to say,

  786. Let them thank

  787. the Lord

  788. for his steadfast love,

  789. for his wondrous works

  790. to the children

  791. of men.

  792. So as we see

  793. God doing that

  794. for us,

  795. as we cry

  796. to the Lord

  797. in our trouble,

  798. and as he delivers

  799. us from distress,

  800. as he sends out

  801. his word

  802. that so often

  803. heals us,

  804. it reminds us

  805. that with him

  806. we have so much

  807. of these benefits

  808. that our soul

  809. that is so bitter

  810. at times

  811. that he is able

  812. to make it rejoice

  813. in him again.

  814. So how

  815. could we ever

  816. forget the way

  817. the Lord

  818. treats us

  819. like that

  820. on a daily basis?

  821. The way

  822. he tends to us,

  823. just like a doctor

  824. looking after

  825. his patients

  826. daily,

  827. the Lord

  828. looks after

  829. his people

  830. on a daily

  831. basis.

  832. And for that

  833. we can say,

  834. bless the Lord,

  835. oh my soul

  836. and all

  837. that is within me.

  838. That we know

  839. the great

  840. benefit

  841. that there is

  842. in the Lord

  843. who heals

  844. our soul.

  845. And thirdly,

  846. we see there

  847. in verse 4,

  848. the one who

  849. redeems

  850. your life

  851. from the pit.

  852. Yes,

  853. you could say

  854. it's quite similar

  855. to the one

  856. who forgives

  857. all your iniquity.

  858. But there's

  859. a reminder

  860. there again

  861. of the cost.

  862. The one

  863. who redeems

  864. your life

  865. from the pit.

  866. The one

  867. who has

  868. given everything

  869. to bring

  870. your life,

  871. to free

  872. you in your life

  873. from the consequences

  874. of sin.

  875. There was a great

  876. price paid

  877. for us

  878. that God

  879. has given

  880. his son,

  881. the redeemer,

  882. so that our

  883. life may be

  884. spared

  885. from the pit.

  886. What a benefit

  887. there is

  888. there for us

  889. as well.

  890. The one

  891. who gave

  892. life,

  893. but the one

  894. who redeems

  895. our life.

  896. There was a story

  897. of a little boy

  898. who made

  899. this model

  900. boat.

  901. He built it

  902. himself,

  903. he made it

  904. himself,

  905. and he was so

  906. proud of this

  907. little boat

  908. that he'd made,

  909. and he went

  910. out this day

  911. to play

  912. with it

  913. in the river

  914. and tied

  915. a bit of

  916. string to

  917. the boat

  918. and let

  919. the boat

  920. out bit

  921. by bit.

  922. And there

  923. he was,

  924. so pleased

  925. with what

  926. he had made,

  927. and he watched

  928. this boat

  929. just going

  930. in the water.

  931. But then

  932. suddenly the wind

  933. got up a bit

  934. and it started

  935. to pull

  936. on the boat,

  937. pull it further

  938. away from him

  939. and as he

  940. tried to

  941. pull the

  942. boat back

  943. in,

  944. the string

  945. that he

  946. had on it

  947. snapped.

  948. And the river

  949. took hold

  950. of this boat

  951. and took

  952. the boat

  953. away from him.

  954. The boy,

  955. he tried

  956. to chase

  957. this boat,

  958. but it just

  959. got further

  960. and further

  961. ahead of him.

  962. He lost

  963. sight of it

  964. and the boat

  965. was gone.

  966. And he was

  967. so despondent

  968. at this.

  969. Well,

  970. a few weeks

  971. later,

  972. after having

  973. searched

  974. for this

  975. boat for

  976. so long,

  977. he had

  978. given up

  979. hope until

  980. a few weeks

  981. later he

  982. was walking

  983. through the

  984. town where

  985. he lived

  986. and in

  987. the window

  988. of a shop

  989. he saw

  990. this boat

  991. and it was

  992. his.

  993. And he

  994. couldn't believe

  995. it that this

  996. boat was

  997. there for

  998. sale.

  999. And he

  1000. went into

  1001. the shop

  1002. and he

  1003. said to

  1004. the shopkeeper,

  1005. that's my

  1006. boat,

  1007. that belongs

  1008. to me.

  1009. And the

  1010. shopkeeper

  1011. said,

  1012. well,

  1013. no,

  1014. it doesn't,

  1015. it's mine

  1016. now.

  1017. And if

  1018. you want

  1019. it,

  1020. you'll

  1021. have to

  1022. pay for

  1023. it.

  1024. And the

  1025. boy,

  1026. he couldn't

  1027. believe it.

  1028. But he

  1029. said he

  1030. wanted his

  1031. boat back

  1032. and so

  1033. eventually he

  1034. paid the

  1035. price for

  1036. the boat.

  1037. And as he

  1038. was going

  1039. out of the

  1040. shop,

  1041. he was

  1042. there holding

  1043. the boat

  1044. so closely

  1045. to him,

  1046. looking at

  1047. it so

  1048. longingly,

  1049. the boat

  1050. that he

  1051. had made

  1052. and he

  1053. said,

  1054. now you're

  1055. mine twice.

  1056. First I

  1057. made you

  1058. and now

  1059. I've

  1060. bought you.

  1061. And that

  1062. is how

  1063. we are

  1064. with God.

  1065. The one

  1066. who redeems

  1067. your life

  1068. from the

  1069. pit is

  1070. the one

  1071. who made

  1072. you.

  1073. But you

  1074. were lost.

  1075. You were

  1076. lost in

  1077. this world.

  1078. And so

  1079. being lost

  1080. as we all

  1081. are,

  1082. what did

  1083. the Lord

  1084. do for

  1085. us?

  1086. He

  1087. redeemed

  1088. your life.

  1089. He made

  1090. you and

  1091. yet he

  1092. bought

  1093. you and

  1094. bought

  1095. you at

  1096. a price.

  1097. He gave

  1098. his own

  1099. son.

  1100. And so

  1101. as we

  1102. think of

  1103. this benefit,

  1104. we see

  1105. it is the

  1106. Lord who

  1107. has made

  1108. us.

  1109. It is the

  1110. Lord who

  1111. gives us

  1112. the breath

  1113. of life.

  1114. It is the

  1115. Lord who

  1116. gives us

  1117. all that

  1118. we enjoy

  1119. in this

  1120. world.

  1121. And yet

  1122. in our

  1123. lostness

  1124. we just

  1125. go our

  1126. own way.

  1127. But the

  1128. Lord has

  1129. come to

  1130. redeem us,

  1131. to buy

  1132. us back

  1133. to himself.

  1134. And when

  1135. we see

  1136. the price

  1137. of that,

  1138. that Jesus

  1139. had to

  1140. die for

  1141. our

  1142. redemption,

  1143. that it is

  1144. through faith

  1145. in him that

  1146. we are

  1147. redeemed,

  1148. we see the

  1149. gracious benefit

  1150. of God

  1151. in that.

  1152. He didn't

  1153. leave us.

  1154. He didn't

  1155. abandon us

  1156. to be

  1157. lost.

  1158. lost.

  1159. You

  1160. think of

  1161. the

  1162. Hebridean

  1163. Isles that

  1164. was in

  1165. Stornoway

  1166. this last

  1167. while and

  1168. has now

  1169. gone away

  1170. not to

  1171. come back

  1172. to Stornoway

  1173. again.

  1174. It's done

  1175. its time,

  1176. it's served

  1177. its purpose

  1178. and what

  1179. now lies

  1180. in store

  1181. for the

  1182. boat?

  1183. To be

  1184. scrapped.

  1185. Just to

  1186. be put

  1187. away,

  1188. to be

  1189. abandoned,

  1190. to be

  1191. left in

  1192. the scrap

  1193. heap.

  1194. That's

  1195. the way

  1196. the Lord

  1197. could be

  1198. with us.

  1199. That's

  1200. the way

  1201. the Lord

  1202. could be

  1203. with you

  1204. and me.

  1205. We've

  1206. done

  1207. enough

  1208. in this

  1209. world,

  1210. we've

  1211. gone

  1212. our

  1213. own

  1214. way.

  1215. The

  1216. Lord

  1217. could

  1218. just

  1219. say

  1220. the

  1221. scrap

  1222. heap.

  1223. Let

  1224. him

  1225. go,

  1226. let

  1227. her

  1228. go,

  1229. that he

  1230. served

  1231. nothing

  1232. else.

  1233. But

  1234. the

  1235. Lord

  1236. in his

  1237. grace

  1238. towards

  1239. us

  1240. doesn't

  1241. want us

  1242. just to

  1243. be

  1244. left

  1245. on

  1246. the

  1247. scrap

  1248. heap.

  1249. He

  1250. wants

  1251. to

  1252. redeem

  1253. your

  1254. life.

  1255. And

  1256. that's

  1257. the

  1258. purpose

  1259. why

  1260. he

  1261. sent

  1262. his

  1263. son.

  1264. And

  1265. so

  1266. if we

  1267. look

  1268. to

  1269. him,

  1270. we

  1271. are

  1272. redeemed.

  1273. We

  1274. are

  1275. assured

  1276. that

  1277. our

  1278. life

  1279. is

  1280. not

  1281. worthless,

  1282. but

  1283. it

  1284. is

  1285. precious

  1286. to

  1287. him,

  1288. the

  1289. one

  1290. who

  1291. gave

  1292. his

  1293. son

  1294. that

  1295. we

  1296. might

  1297. have

  1298. life

  1299. through

  1300. him

  1301. and

  1302. life

  1303. eternal.

  1304. So

  1305. there

  1306. is

  1307. the

  1308. benefit

  1309. that

  1310. we

  1311. have

  1312. in

  1313. faith

  1314. in

  1315. Christ.

  1316. He

  1317. redeems

  1318. your

  1319. life

  1320. from

  1321. the

  1322. pit.

  1323. The

  1324. fourth

  1325. thing

  1326. we

  1327. see

  1328. here

  1329. is

  1330. who

  1331. crowns

  1332. you

  1333. with

  1334. steadfast

  1335. love

  1336. and

  1337. mercy.

  1338. Who

  1339. crowns

  1340. you?

  1341. Now

  1342. we

  1343. think of

  1344. a

  1345. crown,

  1346. you

  1347. think

  1348. of

  1349. a

  1350. king

  1351. or

  1352. a

  1353. queen.

  1354. And

  1355. who

  1356. here

  1357. feels

  1358. like

  1359. a

  1360. king

  1361. or

  1362. a

  1363. queen.

  1364. And

  1365. yet

  1366. here

  1367. we

  1368. have

  1369. that's

  1370. one

  1371. benefit

  1372. that

  1373. we

  1374. receive

  1375. from

  1376. him.

  1377. He

  1378. crowns

  1379. you

  1380. with

  1381. steadfast

  1382. love

  1383. and

  1384. mercy.

  1385. He's

  1386. giving us

  1387. a share

  1388. in

  1389. his

  1390. kingdom.

  1391. He's

  1392. giving us

  1393. a part

  1394. in the

  1395. royal

  1396. family

  1397. that

  1398. belongs

  1399. to

  1400. the

  1401. Lord

  1402. as

  1403. our

  1404. king.

  1405. God

  1406. crowns

  1407. his

  1408. people

  1409. with

  1410. the

  1411. blessings

  1412. of

  1413. being

  1414. part

  1415. of

  1416. his

  1417. kingdom.

  1418. him.

  1419. He

  1420. crowns

  1421. his

  1422. people

  1423. his

  1424. children

  1425. with

  1426. steadfast

  1427. love

  1428. and

  1429. mercy.

  1430. And

  1431. these

  1432. two

  1433. things

  1434. they need

  1435. to be

  1436. unpacked

  1437. a little.

  1438. What do

  1439. we get

  1440. in this?

  1441. He

  1442. crowns

  1443. you

  1444. with

  1445. steadfast

  1446. love

  1447. and

  1448. mercy.

  1449. Steadfast

  1450. love

  1451. here

  1452. really

  1453. corresponds

  1454. to what

  1455. the

  1456. Lord

  1457. calls

  1458. grace

  1459. in the

  1460. New

  1461. Testament.

  1462. He

  1463. crowns

  1464. you

  1465. with

  1466. grace

  1467. upon

  1468. grace

  1469. always

  1470. giving

  1471. his

  1472. grace

  1473. to

  1474. you.

  1475. He

  1476. crowns

  1477. you

  1478. with

  1479. it.

  1480. And

  1481. this

  1482. is

  1483. almost

  1484. like

  1485. on

  1486. a

  1487. daily

  1488. basis

  1489. he

  1490. presents

  1491. this

  1492. on a

  1493. daily

  1494. basis

  1495. to

  1496. us.

  1497. His

  1498. faithfulness

  1499. which

  1500. is new

  1501. every

  1502. morning

  1503. it

  1504. is

  1505. his

  1506. grace

  1507. that

  1508. he

  1509. gives

  1510. again

  1511. and

  1512. again.

  1513. Corinthians

  1514. 12

  1515. verse

  1516. 9

  1517. where

  1518. it

  1519. says

  1520. to

  1521. Paul

  1522. but

  1523. he

  1524. said

  1525. to

  1526. me

  1527. my

  1528. grace

  1529. is

  1530. sufficient

  1531. for

  1532. you

  1533. for

  1534. my

  1535. power

  1536. is

  1537. made

  1538. perfect

  1539. in

  1540. weakness.

  1541. He

  1542. crowns

  1543. him

  1544. with

  1545. grace

  1546. the

  1547. grace

  1548. that

  1549. is

  1550. always

  1551. sufficient.

  1552. And

  1553. so that

  1554. is

  1555. what

  1556. we

  1557. experience

  1558. too.

  1559. He

  1560. crowns

  1561. us

  1562. with

  1563. his

  1564. steadfast

  1565. love

  1566. that

  1567. unchanging

  1568. love

  1569. that we

  1570. know

  1571. in

  1572. his

  1573. grace.

  1574. grace.

  1575. And

  1576. he

  1577. also

  1578. crowns

  1579. us

  1580. there

  1581. with

  1582. mercy.

  1583. Mercy

  1584. day

  1585. by

  1586. day.

  1587. His

  1588. mercy

  1589. that

  1590. is

  1591. always

  1592. more.

  1593. The

  1594. mercy

  1595. that

  1596. keeps

  1597. us.

  1598. The

  1599. mercy

  1600. that

  1601. is

  1602. with

  1603. us

  1604. daily.

  1605. That

  1606. he

  1607. is

  1608. there

  1609. in

  1610. this

  1611. way.

  1612. God

  1613. is

  1614. so

  1615. often

  1616. seen

  1617. in

  1618. different

  1619. ways

  1620. in

  1621. the

  1622. scripture.

  1623. we

  1624. think

  1625. of

  1626. the

  1627. Lord

  1628. is

  1629. seen

  1630. as

  1631. a

  1632. shepherd

  1633. as

  1634. we

  1635. see

  1636. in

  1637. that

  1638. psalm.

  1639. We

  1640. think

  1641. of

  1642. the

  1643. way

  1644. the

  1645. Lord

  1646. is

  1647. seen

  1648. as

  1649. a

  1650. farmer.

  1651. We

  1652. think

  1653. of

  1654. the

  1655. harvest

  1656. field,

  1657. the

  1658. harvest

  1659. which

  1660. is

  1661. plentiful.

  1662. But

  1663. as we

  1664. look

  1665. here

  1666. and

  1667. see

  1668. the

  1669. one

  1670. who

  1671. crowns

  1672. us

  1673. with

  1674. mercy,

  1675. it's

  1676. a

  1677. reminder

  1678. of

  1679. God

  1680. in

  1681. another

  1682. way,

  1683. in

  1684. a

  1685. gentle

  1686. !

  1687. way.

  1688. In

  1689. a

  1690. compassionate

  1691. way,

  1692. it's

  1693. almost

  1694. just

  1695. like

  1696. the

  1697. Lord

  1698. in

  1699. the

  1700. sense

  1701. of

  1702. a

  1703. mother

  1704. loving

  1705. her

  1706. children.

  1707. That's

  1708. what's

  1709. behind

  1710. it

  1711. here.

  1712. It's

  1713. like

  1714. the

  1715. tender

  1716. mercy

  1717. of

  1718. a

  1719. mother

  1720. towards

  1721. her

  1722. children.

  1723. There

  1724. was

  1725. a

  1726. feature

  1727. on

  1728. maybe

  1729. a few

  1730. months

  1731. ago

  1732. now

  1733. and

  1734. I

  1735. just

  1736. caught

  1737. a

  1738. little

  1739. bit

  1740. of

  1741. it

  1742. and

  1743. it

  1744. was

  1745. about

  1746. Princess

  1747. Diana

  1748. looking

  1749. back

  1750. on

  1751. her

  1752. life

  1753. and

  1754. she

  1755. was

  1756. speaking

  1757. in

  1758. this

  1759. program

  1760. about

  1761. the

  1762. importance

  1763. of

  1764. the

  1765. human

  1766. touch

  1767. and

  1768. if you

  1769. ever

  1770. saw

  1771. Princess

  1772. Diana

  1773. doing

  1774. her

  1775. charity

  1776. work

  1777. wherever

  1778. she went

  1779. she would

  1780. often be

  1781. seen

  1782. among

  1783. the

  1784. people

  1785. very

  1786. often

  1787. even

  1788. having

  1789. young

  1790. children

  1791. sitting

  1792. in

  1793. her

  1794. lap

  1795. or

  1796. playing

  1797. around

  1798. them

  1799. or

  1800. doing

  1801. something

  1802. with

  1803. them

  1804. because

  1805. she

  1806. saw

  1807. that

  1808. as

  1809. so

  1810. important

  1811. that

  1812. human

  1813. touch

  1814. it

  1815. didn't

  1816. matter

  1817. that

  1818. she

  1819. was

  1820. royalty

  1821. it

  1822. didn't

  1823. matter

  1824. that

  1825. people

  1826. would

  1827. be

  1828. afraid

  1829. maybe

  1830. of

  1831. allowing

  1832. this

  1833. to

  1834. go

  1835. ahead

  1836. but

  1837. she

  1838. just

  1839. saw

  1840. it

  1841. as

  1842. so

  1843. important

  1844. that

  1845. she

  1846. would

  1847. show

  1848. that

  1849. tender

  1850. compassion

  1851. and

  1852. care

  1853. and

  1854. concern

  1855. for

  1856. those

  1857. around

  1858. her

  1859. that

  1860. human

  1861. touch

  1862. and

  1863. that's

  1864. what's

  1865. behind

  1866. this

  1867. care

  1868. that

  1869. the

  1870. Lord

  1871. has

  1872. for

  1873. his

  1874. people

  1875. here

  1876. who

  1877. crowns

  1878. you

  1879. with

  1880. steadfast

  1881. love

  1882. and

  1883. mercy

  1884. psalm

  1885. 139

  1886. speaks

  1887. of it

  1888. as well

  1889. when you

  1890. look at

  1891. that psalm

  1892. it speaks

  1893. of

  1894. wherever

  1895. you

  1896. go

  1897. in

  1898. this

  1899. world

  1900. in

  1901. verse

  1902. 10

  1903. or

  1904. verse

  1905. 9

  1906. if I

  1907. should

  1908. take

  1909. the

  1910. wings

  1911. !

  1912. of

  1913. dawn

  1914. and

  1915. dwell

  1916. beyond

  1917. the

  1918. sea

  1919. there

  1920. also

  1921. you

  1922. would

  1923. be

  1924. my

  1925. guide

  1926. your

  1927. right

  1928. hand

  1929. holding

  1930. me

  1931. there

  1932. is

  1933. this

  1934. tender

  1935. touch

  1936. of

  1937. God

  1938. that

  1939. he

  1940. is

  1941. always

  1942. having

  1943. this

  1944. concern

  1945. for

  1946. his

  1947. people

  1948. this

  1949. mercy

  1950. that

  1951. is

  1952. his

  1953. hand

  1954. upon

  1955. us

  1956. for

  1957. good

  1958. that

  1959. he

  1960. never

  1961. lets

  1962. us

  1963. go

  1964. and

  1965. so

  1966. we

  1967. have

  1968. that

  1969. benefit

  1970. too

  1971. he

  1972. crowns

  1973. you

  1974. with

  1975. steadfast

  1976. love

  1977. and

  1978. mercy

  1979. the

  1980. final

  1981. benefit

  1982. we

  1983. see

  1984. here

  1985. then

  1986. is

  1987. in

  1988. verse

  1989. 5

  1990. the

  1991. one

  1992. who

  1993. satisfies

  1994. you

  1995. with

  1996. good

  1997. so

  1998. that

  1999. your

  2000. youth

  2001. is

  2002. renewed

  2003. like

  2004. the

  2005. eagles

  2006. he

  2007. satisfies

  2008. you

  2009. with

  2010. good

  2011. this

  2012. is

  2013. one

  2014. of

  2015. his

  2016. benefits

  2017. too

  2018. that

  2019. satisfaction

  2020. he

  2021. gives

  2022. whenever

  2023. we

  2024. have

  2025. use

  2026. of

  2027. a

  2028. product

  2029. or

  2030. a

  2031. service

  2032. so

  2033. often

  2034. you're

  2035. asked

  2036. now

  2037. will

  2038. you

  2039. take

  2040. a

  2041. short

  2042. survey

  2043. at

  2044. the

  2045. end

  2046. you

  2047. may

  2048. be

  2049. dealing

  2050. with

  2051. a

  2052. phone

  2053. company

  2054. you

  2055. may

  2056. be

  2057. dealing

  2058. with

  2059. a

  2060. product

  2061. you've

  2062. bought

  2063. and

  2064. you're

  2065. often

  2066. asked

  2067. to

  2068. take

  2069. a

  2070. survey

  2071. and

  2072. the

  2073. questions

  2074. are

  2075. asking

  2076. are

  2077. you

  2078. satisfied

  2079. with

  2080. the

  2081. service

  2082. are

  2083. you

  2084. satisfied

  2085. with

  2086. the

  2087. product

  2088. and

  2089. behind

  2090. that

  2091. is

  2092. just

  2093. a

  2094. desire

  2095. to

  2096. know

  2097. how

  2098. can

  2099. things

  2100. be

  2101. improved

  2102. and

  2103. there

  2104. are

  2105. plenty

  2106. of

  2107. times

  2108. we

  2109. might

  2110. say

  2111. we're

  2112. unsatisfied

  2113. we're

  2114. not

  2115. happy

  2116. with

  2117. the

  2118. service

  2119. or

  2120. the

  2121. product

  2122. but

  2123. that

  2124. will

  2125. never

  2126. be

  2127. the

  2128. case

  2129. with

  2130. God

  2131. he

  2132. is

  2133. the

  2134. one

  2135. who

  2136. satisfies

  2137. you

  2138. with

  2139. good

  2140. the

  2141. rolling

  2142. stones

  2143. want

  2144. sung

  2145. that

  2146. song

  2147. I

  2148. can't

  2149. get

  2150. no

  2151. satisfaction

  2152. there's

  2153. almost

  2154. nothing

  2155. in this

  2156. world

  2157. that

  2158. they

  2159. could

  2160. see

  2161. that

  2162. could

  2163. give

  2164. them

  2165. satisfaction

  2166. and

  2167. that's

  2168. the

  2169. song

  2170. of

  2171. so

  2172. many

  2173. in

  2174. this

  2175. world

  2176. just

  2177. whatever

  2178. I

  2179. do

  2180. I

  2181. just

  2182. can't

  2183. get

  2184. that

  2185. satisfaction

  2186. but

  2187. that's

  2188. not

  2189. our

  2190. song

  2191. that's

  2192. not

  2193. the

  2194. song

  2195. that

  2196. the

  2197. Lord

  2198. gives

  2199. to

  2200. us

  2201. because

  2202. he

  2203. satisfies

  2204. you

  2205. with

  2206. good

  2207. his

  2208. tender

  2209. mercies

  2210. his

  2211. tender

  2212. steadfast

  2213. love

  2214. and his

  2215. mercy

  2216. he's

  2217. crowned

  2218. you

  2219. with

  2220. all

  2221. of

  2222. these

  2223. benefits

  2224. he

  2225. satisfies

  2226. you

  2227. with

  2228. good

  2229. and

  2230. so

  2231. yes

  2232. there

  2233. are

  2234. times

  2235. when

  2236. we

  2237. grumble

  2238. and

  2239. moan

  2240. there

  2241. are

  2242. times

  2243. we

  2244. have

  2245. things

  2246. that

  2247. we're

  2248. not

  2249. happy

  2250. with

  2251. but

  2252. it's

  2253. of

  2254. ourselves

  2255. because

  2256. God

  2257. satisfies

  2258. you

  2259. with

  2260. good

  2261. and

  2262. he

  2263. satisfies

  2264. you

  2265. in

  2266. this

  2267. way

  2268. where

  2269. he

  2270. says

  2271. that

  2272. your

  2273. youth

  2274. is

  2275. renewed

  2276. like

  2277. the

  2278. eagles

  2279. it

  2280. ties

  2281. so

  2282. much

  2283. in

  2284. with

  2285. Isaiah

    Isaiah 40 chapter mention

  2286. chapter

  2287. 40

  2288. as well

  2289. with

  2290. Isaiah

  2291. speaking

  2292. about

  2293. those

  2294. who

  2295. faint

  2296. and

  2297. are

  2298. weary

  2299. even

  2300. young

  2301. men

  2302. shall

  2303. fall

  2304. exhausted

  2305. but

  2306. they

  2307. who

  2308. wait

  2309. on

  2310. the

  2311. Lord

  2312. shall

  2313. renew

  2314. their

  2315. strength

  2316. they

  2317. shall

  2318. mount

  2319. up

  2320. with

  2321. wings

  2322. like

  2323. eagles

  2324. they

  2325. shall

  2326. run

  2327. and

  2328. not

  2329. be

  2330. weary

  2331. they

  2332. shall

  2333. walk

  2334. and

  2335. not

  2336. faint

  2337. we

  2338. have

  2339. that

  2340. same

  2341. kind

  2342. of

  2343. idea

  2344. here

  2345. so

  2346. that

  2347. your

  2348. youth

  2349. is

  2350. renewed

  2351. like

  2352. the

  2353. eagles

  2354. it's

  2355. to do

  2356. with

  2357. the

  2358. strength

  2359. and

  2360. the

  2361. power

  2362. of

  2363. the

  2364. eagle

  2365. and

  2366. if

  2367. you

  2368. ever

  2369. see

  2370. eagles

  2371. you

  2372. see

  2373. that

  2374. they

  2375. have

  2376. that

  2377. power

  2378. and

  2379. you

  2380. think

  2381. of

  2382. the

  2383. way

  2384. they

  2385. swoop

  2386. down

  2387. maybe

  2388. they

  2389. catch

  2390. an

  2391. animal

  2392. even

  2393. a

  2394. fish

  2395. out

  2396. of

  2397. the

  2398. sea

  2399. and

  2400. yet

  2401. you

  2402. see

  2403. the

  2404. power

  2405. that

  2406. they

  2407. have

  2408. not

  2409. just

  2410. to

  2411. catch

  2412. that

  2413. animal

  2414. but

  2415. to

  2416. lift

  2417. off

  2418. again

  2419. and

  2420. fly

  2421. up

  2422. into

  2423. the

  2424. sky

  2425. to

  2426. soar

  2427. up

  2428. into

  2429. the

  2430. sky

  2431. and

  2432. carry

  2433. that

  2434. food

  2435. with

  2436. them

  2437. it's

  2438. incredible

  2439. the

  2440. power

  2441. that

  2442. they

  2443. have

  2444. and

  2445. yet

  2446. here

  2447. we

  2448. are

  2449. being

  2450. reminded

  2451. the

  2452. one

  2453. who

  2454. satisfies

  2455. you

  2456. with

  2457. good

  2458. and

  2459. who

  2460. renews

  2461. your

  2462. youth

  2463. like

  2464. he

  2465. means

  2466. that

  2467. he

  2468. gives

  2469. you

  2470. strength

  2471. to

  2472. go

  2473. on

  2474. he

  2475. keeps

  2476. you

  2477. going

  2478. in

  2479. so

  2480. many

  2481. ways

  2482. and

  2483. again

  2484. we

  2485. just

  2486. think

  2487. of

  2488. that

  2489. great

  2490. benefit

  2491. of

  2492. knowing

  2493. the

  2494. Lord

  2495. who

  2496. is

  2497. with

  2498. us

  2499. when

  2500. we

  2501. are

  2502. feeling

  2503. weary

  2504. in

  2505. life

  2506. when

  2507. we

  2508. feel

  2509. exhausted

  2510. by

  2511. things

  2512. he

  2513. satisfies

  2514. you

  2515. with

  2516. good

  2517. and

  2518. when

  2519. we

  2520. see

  2521. that

  2522. it

  2523. reminds

  2524. you

  2525. of

  2526. the

  2527. strength

  2528. and

  2529. the

  2530. power

  2531. that

  2532. is

  2533. yours

  2534. through

  2535. faith

  2536. in

  2537. Christ

  2538. that

  2539. all

  2540. that

  2541. you

  2542. have

  2543. in

  2544. him

  2545. is

  2546. all

  2547. his

  2548. gracious

  2549. benefits

  2550. and

  2551. they

  2552. are

  2553. ours

  2554. through

  2555. faith

  2556. some

  2557. of

  2558. we

  2559. once

  2560. said

  2561. we

  2562. have

  2563. a

  2564. long

  2565. memory

  2566. when

  2567. it

  2568. comes

  2569. to

  2570. our

  2571. hurts

  2572. our

  2573. sorrows

  2574. and

  2575. our

  2576. burdens

  2577. But

  2578. a

  2579. very

  2580. short

  2581. memory

  2582. when

  2583. it

  2584. comes

  2585. to

  2586. recalling

  2587. just

  2588. how

  2589. good

  2590. the

  2591. Lord

  2592. has

  2593. been

  2594. to

  2595. us

  2596. that's

  2597. the

  2598. kind

  2599. of

  2600. thing

  2601. we

  2602. see

  2603. here

  2604. David

  2605. himself

  2606. knew

  2607. times

  2608. when

  2609. he

  2610. was

  2611. forgetful

  2612. and

  2613. so

  2614. do

  2615. we

  2616. but

  2617. we

  2618. can

  2619. come

  2620. and

  2621. say

  2622. bless

  2623. the

  2624. Lord

  2625. praise

  2626. the

  2627. Lord

  2628. and

  2629. let's

  2630. not

  2631. forget

  2632. all

  2633. his

  2634. benefits

  2635. the

  2636. one

  2637. who

  2638. forgives

  2639. our

  2640. iniquities

  2641. the

  2642. one

  2643. who

  2644. heals

  2645. our

  2646. diseases

  2647. the

  2648. one

  2649. who

  2650. redeems

  2651. our

  2652. life

  2653. the one

  2654. who

  2655. crowns

  2656. us

  2657. with

  2658. steadfast

  2659. love

  2660. and

  2661. mercy

  2662. the one

  2663. who

  2664. satisfies

  2665. us

  2666. with

  2667. good

  2668. the

  2669. benefits

  2670. that are

  2671. ours

  2672. by

  2673. faith

  2674. when we

  2675. know

  2676. these

  2677. benefits

  2678. our soul

  2679. can do

  2680. nothing

  2681. but praise

  2682. him

  2683. and rejoice

  2684. in him
