Isaiah 40 chapter mention Isaiah 40 chapter mention

  2. ! I'm reading from verse 28.

  3. !

  4. We'll sing to God's praise now from the Scottish Psalter, from Psalm 40, verses 1 to

    Psalms 40:1

  5. verse 5. You'll find that on page 259 of the book. Psalm 40, and we sing from verse 1 to

  6. verse 5 of the Psalm.

  7. I waited for the Lord my God and patiently did bear. At length to me he did incline my

  8. voice and cry to hear. He took me from a fearful pit and from the miry clay, and on a rock he

  9. set my feet establishing my way. He put a new song in my mouth, our God to magnify. Many

  10. shall see it and shall fear, and on the Lord rely. And we'll sing down to the end of verse

  11. verse 5 to God's praise.

  12. I waited for the Lord my Lord, a nation he did bear. A word to me he did.

  13. I waited for the Lord my heart and patiently did bear. He took me from the fearful pit and

  14. he took me from the mighty clay, and on the war he set my feet establishing my way. He put a new song in my heart, and on the

  20. O Lord, my God, who may be not

  21. The waters of Christ come

  22. My gracious Lord to us, Lord God

  23. How all those are gone

  24. Enorms are none

  25. And there on the air

  26. To be in the air

  31. Let's unite our hearts together in prayer

  32. Let's pray

  33. Heavenly Father we thank you

  34. that once more you have called us to come

  35. into this place and we have the privilege of knowing

  36. that we are in your presence

  37. because we have the promise that we're

  38. even two or three of us meet together

  39. in the name of Jesus you are here with us

  40. in the power of the Holy Spirit

  41. we thank you Lord that that is a promise

  42. that is something that we can depend on

  43. we can lean on

  44. that you are here with us

  45. and we pray that we would know

  46. that not only is a promise that we can grasp with our minds

  47. but we pray that we would experience

  48. that sense of your presence

  49. as we gather in this place this evening

  50. even as Callum has spoken

  51. of our hearts burning within us

  52. we pray that we would have that experience

  53. that we are in the presence of God

  54. we pray that as we wait upon you

  55. that you would indeed meet with us

  56. and renew our strength

  57. we thank you for the psalm that we have sang

  58. that psalm that is so familiar to us

  59. a psalm that speaks out as the testimony

  60. of a man who was saved by God

  61. and we praise you that even though

  62. that psalm was written many thousands of years ago

  63. in a place far from here

  64. these words can be taken by each one of us

  65. and we can identify with all that the psalmist speaks of

  66. if we are your people

  67. just as he confessed his sin

  68. that sense of the miry clay and the pit

  69. that experience

  70. that conviction of sin

  71. that comes over us

  72. when God the Holy Spirit begins to work

  73. as he confessed sin

  74. Lord we confess our sin this evening

  75. we must examine self

  76. not others

  77. but we are called to examine self

  78. as we prepare to come to the table

  79. and as we do so Lord

  80. we confess that we are sinners

  81. and we pray that you would forgive us

  82. we think of the things that we have said

  83. that we wish we hadn't said

  84. maybe even in the last few days

  85. we think of the silences

  86. that we have allowed to stretch on

  87. when we should have spoken up

  88. a word in season

  89. we think of the times

  90. when we have acted and reacted

  91. in a way that is more of selfish impulse

  92. than a response that is molded by your spirit

  93. we think about even the thoughts

  94. that are hidden from others

  95. but are seen by you

  96. the motivation sometimes

  97. of our hearts

  98. and Lord as we examine self

  99. we confess that we are sinners

  100. in thought and word

  101. in deed

  102. and we cry out with one of old

  103. God have mercy on me

  104. the sinner

  105. we thank you that as we do so

  106. we have the promise

  107. that we are forgiven

  108. we thank you that we can

  109. enter into the joy

  110. that comes through this psalm also

  111. we can sing of the salvation

  112. that is promised to all

  113. who look to the Lord

  114. look unto me

  115. and be ye saved

  116. believe in the Lord Jesus Christ

  117. we are told

  118. and you will be saved

  119. call upon the name of the Lord

  120. and you will be saved

  121. and so Lord we do that even

  122. this evening

  123. afresh

  124. perhaps there are some

  125. who have come under

  126. a conviction of sin

  127. in past years

  128. and have never actually

  129. cried out with

  130. the tax collector

  131. God have mercy on me

  132. and we pray that even

  133. in these moments

  134. in this hour tonight

  135. there would be none

  136. who feels the weight of sin

  137. and leaves under that weight

  138. but we pray that each one of us

  139. would cry out for mercy

  140. that we would seek

  141. and receive the grace

  142. that is offered to us in Christ

  143. and that we would be enabled

  144. to sing that new song

  145. of praise to God

  146. that song where we want

  147. with our voices

  148. and in our hearts

  149. and through our lives

  150. to lift up the name of Jesus

  151. our Saviour

  152. and we thank you Lord Jesus

  153. for all that you have done for us

  154. as we prepare to come to the table

  155. we think of the bread

  156. and the wine

  157. these elements

  158. that speak of the body

  159. of Christ given for us

  160. and the blood

  161. of Christ shed for us

  162. we thank you that for us

  163. the offer of salvation

  164. the offer of grace

  165. it is the free offer

  166. all we have to do

  167. is confess our sin

  168. and receive

  169. the grace

  170. that is

  171. that is gifted to us

  172. but this weekend

  173. as we gather

  174. around the table

  175. once more

  176. we are reminded

  177. of the great cost

  178. at which

  179. our salvation came

  180. the death

  181. father

  182. of your son

  183. your only

  184. begotten son

  185. we thank you

  186. that he

  187. laid down

  188. his life

  189. so that we might live

  190. we thank you that

  191. the Lord Jesus

  192. came into this world

  193. knowing

  194. that he would be

  195. despised

  196. and

  197. rejected

  198. that he would be

  199. forsaken

  200. that he would suffer

  201. the man of sorrows

  202. that he would die

  203. to pay the penalty

  204. for our sin

  205. and we thank you

  206. that we remember

  207. that death

  208. over these days

  209. so grant to us

  210. Lord we pray

  211. a clear vision

  212. of the cross

  213. that we might

  214. be even more amazed

  215. by the grace

  216. that is outstretched

  217. to us

  218. and that we would be

  219. even more

  220. worshipful

  221. and filled with love

  222. in our hearts

  223. for the God

  224. who first loved us

  225. so bless

  226. these days

  227. to us

  228. we pray

  229. bless

  230. your word

  231. to us

  232. meet with us

  233. we ask

  234. and renew

  235. our strength

  236. as we come

  237. together

  238. as your people

  239. we thank you

  240. for those

  241. who

  242. have come

  243. forward

  244. into the

  245. membership

  246. of this

  247. congregation

  248. over these

  249. last

  250. couple of

  251. days

  252. for some

  253. who have

  254. transferred

  255. here

  256. for the

  257. McCritchies

  258. Lord

  259. we pray

  260. that you

  261. would bless

  262. them

  263. and that

  264. your hand

  265. would be

  266. upon them

  267. and as we

  268. remember

  269. them

  270. we remember

  271. Ian

  272. in Greyfriars

  273. as he continues

  274. to serve you

  275. in Inverness

  276. and we pray

  277. your blessing

  278. on his

  279. ministry there

  280. that you would

  281. continue to use

  282. him

  283. to lift up

  284. the name of

  285. Jesus

  286. that you would

  287. sustain him

  288. through the

  289. days

  290. that you have

  291. ordained for him

  292. as he

  293. continues to

  294. serve you

  295. and we pray

  296. for others

  297. who have

  298. come forward

  299. for one

  300. who came

  301. forward

  302. today

  303. and we

  304. ask Lord

  305. that you

  306. would bless

  307. her

  308. and that

  309. she would

  310. know your

  311. presence

  312. that she

  313. would know

  314. your peace

  315. that she

  316. would know

  317. the joy

  318. that each

  319. one of us

  320. would know

  321. the joy

  322. of your

  323. salvation

  324. as we

  325. take the

  326. bread and

  327. we take

  328. the wine

  329. and we

  330. remember

  331. all that

  332. Christ has

  333. done for

  334. us

  335. and we

  336. pray

  337. Holy Spirit

  338. that you

  339. would continue

  340. to strive

  341. with others

  342. this evening

  343. for any

  344. in this

  345. building

  346. who have

  347. not yet

  348. trusted

  349. Christ

  350. we ask

  351. Lord

  352. that you

  353. would be

  354. drawing near

  355. to them

  356. that you

  357. would open

  358. their eyes

  359. as we

  360. pray that

  361. you would

  362. open our

  363. eyes

  364. that we

  365. would see

  366. that we

  367. are great

  368. sinners

  369. but Christ

  370. is the

  371. great

  372. Savior

  373. and we

  374. pray for

  375. those who

  376. are outside

  377. of the

  378. building

  379. as well

  380. many who

  381. will pass

  382. going to

  383. different

  384. things this

  385. evening

  386. with no

  387. thought

  388. of the

  389. things of

  390. God

  391. and yet

  392. in a

  393. moment

  394. Lord

  395. you are

  396. able

  397. to

  398. change

  399. your

  400. heart

  401. and to

  402. awaken

  403. a soul

  404. and so

  405. we pray

  406. as we

  407. did

  408. yesterday

  409. evening

  410. for

  411. awakenings

  412. in these

  413. islands

  414. as we

  415. have known

  416. of in

  417. the past

  418. we pray

  419. that you

  420. would revive

  421. your work

  422. Lord

  423. God

  424. in the

  425. midst

  426. of the

  427. years

  428. we pray

  429. for any

  430. who are

  431. your people

  432. any who

  433. may be

  434. here tonight

  435. and who

  436. are trusting

  437. in Christ

  438. who are

  439. forgiven

  440. who have

  441. been

  442. cleansed

  443. who are

  444. saved

  445. who are

  446. secure

  447. and who

  448. have not

  449. yet come

  450. forward

  451. we think

  452. of the

  453. woman

  454. with the

  455. issue

  456. of blood

  457. who was

  458. healed

  459. and who

  460. felt that

  461. healing

  462. and the

  463. joy

  464. of that

  465. but

  466. hid back

  467. in the

  468. shadows

  469. we thank you

  470. that as she

  471. heard the

  472. call of

  473. Jesus

  474. eventually

  475. she came

  476. forward

  477. to profess

  478. that Christ

  479. had healed

  480. her

  481. and if

  482. there are

  483. any hearts

  484. that have

  485. been healed

  486. and cleansed

  487. tonight

  488. but still

  489. the voice

  490. is silent

  491. we pray

  492. that you

  493. would give

  494. courage

  495. and clarity

  496. that every

  497. one of your

  498. people

  499. would come

  500. forward

  501. and profess

  502. that Jesus

  503. is their

  504. Lord and

  505. Saviour

  506. so bless

  507. us

  508. we pray

  509. be amongst

  510. us we pray

  511. we pray

  512. for Calum

  513. as he continues

  514. to serve you

  515. here

  516. we pray

  517. for all

  518. the office

  519. bearers

  520. for the

  521. members

  522. for the

  523. adherents

  524. we ask

  525. that in

  526. everything

  527. that is

  528. done

  529. that Christ

  530. would be

  531. lifted up

  532. that each

  533. one would

  534. know the

  535. joy of

  536. worship

  537. as we come

  538. together as

  539. your people

  540. and we pray

  541. on Lord

  542. that this

  543. congregation

  544. as all

  545. the

  546. congregations

  547. in this

  548. place

  549. would be

  550. helped

  551. as your

  552. people seek

  553. to reach

  554. out with

  555. the good

  556. news of

  557. the gospel

  558. give us

  559. opportunities

  560. we pray

  561. give us

  562. courage

  563. we pray

  564. and as

  565. the seed

  566. of the

  567. gospel

  568. is sown

  569. in this

  570. community

  571. we ask

  572. that it

  573. would bear

  574. fruit

  575. as we

  576. hear our

  577. prayers

  578. cleanse us

  579. from our

  580. sin

  581. and go

  582. before us

  583. we ask

  584. we pray

  585. all this

  586. in Jesus

  587. name

  588. Amen

  589. we'll sing

  590. again now

  591. to God's

  592. praise

  593. we'll sing

  594. this time

  595. from

  679. The Lord shall keep thy soul, he shall preserve me from all ill.

  680. Hence for thy going, I'll stand in, God keep forever will.

  681. Hence for thy going, I'll stand in, God keep forever will.

  682. If I could ask you to turn with me now please to Matthew chapter 11.

    Matthew 11 chapter mention

  683. Matthew chapter 11, page 984 in the Bible here.

    Matthew 11 chapter mention

  684. Matthew chapter 11, page 984 in the Bible here.

    Matthew 11 chapter mention

  685. And we looked at the first part of the chapter yesterday evening down to verse 24.

  686. And I want this evening and into tomorrow morning also to look at the verses from 25 through to the end of the chapter.

  687. So Matthew chapter 11 and we're reading from verse 25 to verse 30.

    Matthew 11 chapter mention

  688. At that time, Jesus declared, and think about the context actually here as we looked at it last evening.

  689. Jesus has just spoken some of the strongest words of judgment on these cities that he had preached to,

  690. that he had performed amazing, miraculous works in, and they dismissed him.

  691. They rejected him.

  692. And so there's really strong words of warning in the verses immediately preceding this section.

  693. That's the time that Matthew is speaking of.

  694. And now we have the contrast that comes through.

  695. At that time, Jesus declared,

  696. I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children.

  697. Yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.

  698. All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

  699. Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

  700. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

  701. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

  702. Amen.

  703. And may God bless that reading of his word to us.

  704. We're going to sing again now to God's praise.

  705. Again, the Scottish Psalter.

  706. Psalm 116, page 395.

  707. Psalm 116.

  708. And we'll sing from verse 1 to verse 7 of the psalm.

  709. I love the Lord, because my voice and prayers he did hear.

  710. I, while I live, will call on him who bowed to me his ear.

  711. Of death the courts and sorrows that about me compass round.

  712. The pains of hell took hold on me.

  713. I grief and trouble found upon the name of God the Lord.

  714. Then did I call and say, Deliver thou my soul, O Lord.

  715. I do thee humbly pray, God merciful and righteous as ye gracious as our Lord.

  716. God saves the meek.

  717. I was brought low.

  718. He did me help afford.

  719. O thou, my soul, do thou return unto thy quiet rest.

  720. For largely, lo, the Lord to thee his bounty hath expressed.

  721. These verses of Psalm 116 we sing to God's praise.

  722. I love the Lord, because my voice and prayers he did hear.

  723. I, while I live, will call on him who bowed to me this year.

  724. Of death the courts and sorrows that about me compass round.

  725. The grace of heaven to hold on me.

  726. I, while I live, will call on him.

  727. I, while I live, will call on him.

  728. I, while I live, will call on him.

  729. I, while I live, will call on him.

  730. singing in singing

  731. Amen.

  732. If you could turn back, please, with me to Matthew chapter 11.

    Matthew 11 chapter mention

  733. And as we come back to these verses, once more, let's pray.

  734. Heavenly Father, we thank you for your word that we have sung.

  735. We thank you for the bounty that is found, that we are able to meditate upon and receive

  736. as we take time to listen to your voice and to think once more upon the wonder of the

  737. gospel, the good news about Jesus.

  738. We thank you that every salvation story, even as we sing the Psalms and as we hear these

  739. accounts of crying out for salvation.

  740. We thank you that every experience, every answered prayer for salvation that was received and

  741. known leads us to the cross where we see Jesus.

  742. And we thank you that we hear in the verses that we have read the words of God the Son who

  743. says, come to me.

  744. And so we ask that you would enable us, Lord God, in this time to come, to come afresh to

  745. Jesus.

  746. That we may know the blessing, the rest, the peace, the joy, the contentment that is found

  747. only in him.

  748. So clear our minds, we pray, of all that would distract us, all that has preoccupied us over

  749. these days and perhaps over the last week.

  750. Cleanse us from sin, the sin that weighs us down.

  751. Bind the evil one, we pray, that he may not be able to assault us and attack us.

  752. And fill us with the Holy Spirit, that the Spirit who inspired Matthew to record these words

  753. as we have them written down, that he would be our teacher, that the Holy Spirit himself

  754. would illuminate our minds and touch our hearts and spotlight Jesus, that we may fix our eyes

  755. upon him.

  756. And we ask all this in Jesus' name.

  757. Amen.

  758. Matthew chapter 11 and looking at verse 25 down to verse 30.

    Matthew 11 chapter mention

  759. And where I'd like to begin this evening is with the idea, the doctrine, the words that guide

  760. us here into thinking about God's will.

  761. We often talk about God's will.

  762. We often wonder about God's will.

  763. Sometimes, even in our every good day conversation, we will answer in terms of God's will for our lives.

  764. Something maybe as ordinary as an invitation to go and join friends for dinner in six weeks' time

  765. or six months' time, we check the diary.

  766. And if it's free, we'll come back in our response and we'll say, I'd be delighted to meet you.

  767. I'll see you at this place at this time, DV, Dio Valenti, which means God willing.

  768. And when we pray, as we come together as God's people to pray, as we attend prayer meetings,

  769. we draw near in worship and we bring our petitions in prayer as we are taught to,

  770. we ask for things.

  771. But often we add rightly as we ask for things, if it be thy will.

  772. And so God's will, God's ways are often mysterious to us.

  773. His ways are higher than our ways.

  774. Often God's will is obscured from our view and our understanding.

  775. But sometimes God's will is revealed to us.

  776. There are aspects of God's will that are shared with us.

  777. And Jesus speaks in this passage about the will of God, the will of the Father.

  778. And that's where we begin this evening.

  779. Three points in the time that we have.

  780. We'll think first of all about the will of the Father.

  781. God, the Son, Jesus, he tells us about the will of the Father.

  782. The second thing we'll see is the way to the Father.

  783. We're taught how we can know the Father, how the Father can be revealed to us.

  784. And the final thing we see or we hear is this amazing call.

  785. The call of the Son.

  786. The will of the Father, the way to the Father, and the call of the Son.

  787. So first of all, the will of the Father.

  788. Verse 25 as we pick this up.

  789. At that time, Jesus declared,

  790. I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth,

  791. that you have hidden these things, these gospel things,

  792. from the wise and understanding,

  793. and revealed them to little children.

  794. Yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.

  795. Now, in Jesus' ministry,

  796. in this world, as it's recorded for us in the Gospels,

  797. it's very clear for us to see that Jesus,

  798. he met a lot of resistance.

  799. And the majority of the resistance that Jesus met with

  800. was concentrated in people who were wise

  801. and understanding in their own estimation.

  802. Jesus clashed most regularly

  803. with people who had a very high opinion of themselves.

  804. I was reminded when I was preparing

  805. of a story that came back to my mind from Loch Caron,

  806. the first place I had a charge.

  807. And we'd, as a family, just moved to Loch Caron.

  808. We were getting our boxes unpacked and getting organized.

  809. And our next-door neighbor was a Highland gentleman

  810. called Donnie Colonel,

  811. a wise, witty, warm character.

  812. A character.

  813. And he would be in and out most days

  814. asking how we were getting on.

  815. And I remember one day he said to me,

  816. have you met this one?

  817. Have you met that one?

  818. Have you met the next person?

  819. And I said, yes, I've met this one.

  820. I haven't met that one next.

  821. And then he said, he says, have you met,

  822. I'll change the guy's name,

  823. but he says, have you met Jim?

  824. And I said, well, as a matter of fact,

  825. I have met Jim.

  826. I could remember Jim.

  827. He was a very confident character.

  828. I said, yes, I have met Jim.

  829. And Donnie paused.

  830. And he says, Jim is a very, very, very important man.

  831. And then Donnie paused with a half a smirk on his face.

  832. And he said, by the way, Jim told me that himself.

  833. Now, Jesus met a lot of Jims.

  834. We have a record in the gospel of Jesus encountering lots of people

  835. who thought that they were very, very important.

  836. And sadly, the majority of these people were religious people.

  837. They were scribes and Pharisees.

  838. And in their own view, in their own estimation,

  839. they were wise and they had great understanding.

  840. They were very, very proud people.

  841. And it's true that many of these people would have been able to recite large sections of the Old Testament.

  842. They had a good grasp of the scriptures in terms of recall.

  843. They may have had an excellent understanding of church law.

  844. They may have been religious experts and had their names in many of the institutions of theology.

  845. But when it came to the gospel, when it came to the good news about Jesus,

  846. these things, these gospel things were hidden from them.

  847. They couldn't see.

  848. They would not see Jesus.

  849. They were filled with spiritual pride.

  850. And spiritual pride is the biggest obstacle to seeing Jesus.

  851. If we are wise and understanding in our own eyes,

  852. we won't be able to see Jesus clearly.

  853. If we are wise and understanding in our own eyes and think that we are something,

  854. the cross will make no sense to us.

  855. It will be of no relevance to us.

  856. And the good news that Jesus preaches will be hidden from us.

  857. J.C. Ryle says this.

  858. Those to whom the gospel is revealed are generally humble,

  859. simple-minded, and willing to learn.

  860. Let us watch against pride.

  861. In every shape, pride of intellect,

  862. pride of wealth,

  863. pride in our own goodness.

  864. Nothing is so likely, says Ryle,

  865. to keep a man out of heaven

  866. and prevent him seeing Christ as pride.

  867. So long as we think we are something,

  868. we shall never be saved.

  869. Let us pray for

  870. and cultivate humility.

  871. And so Jesus,

  872. as he teaches the disciples here,

  873. and as we have this record from Matthew,

  874. we are given a negative example.

  875. We are given an example of what we are not to be.

  876. We are not to be those who are wise

  877. and understanding in our own eyes.

  878. We are to fight against any creeping spiritual pride.

  879. And then we have the positive

  880. from verse 25.

  881. Jesus, having illustrated what we're not to be,

  882. he teaches us what we are to be like.

  883. He teaches us what the Father would will us to be like in our approach.

  884. And he says in verse 25,

  885. we need to become like little children.

  886. Now, in that day, much more so than in our day,

  887. little children had very low position.

  888. Little children didn't have money or power or influence.

  889. Little children in that stage,

  890. in that age,

  891. they couldn't stamp their feet and demand rights.

  892. And little children,

  893. they hadn't become cynical

  894. and hard-hearted.

  895. We don't read in the Gospels of little children

  896. clashing with Jesus

  897. and resisting and pushing Jesus away

  898. like the wise and the understanding were.

  899. Little children, we are told in the Gospels,

  900. they were coming to Jesus.

  901. And Jesus says,

  902. it is the will of the Father

  903. to hide salvation

  904. from the spiritually proud

  905. and to reveal salvation,

  906. to reveal the Savior

  907. to the humble,

  908. to the lowly,

  909. to those who come like little children.

  910. Augustus,

  911. this top lady in the hymn,

  912. Rock of Ages,

  913. has a great line

  914. and it says in that hymn,

  915. nothing in my hands I bring,

  916. simply to

  917. thy cross

  918. I cling.

  919. and that's the way

  920. that we are to come to Jesus.

  921. We come like little children.

  922. Whether it's the first time

  923. or whether it's the thousandth time,

  924. this is how we come.

  925. We come like little children.

  926. Nothing in our hands we bring.

  927. We come with empty hands.

  928. We come with hearts

  929. that we pray that the Spirit has opened.

  930. We come ready to receive

  931. the salvation,

  932. the grace that Jesus offers.

  933. And as we approach the Lord's table,

  934. let's ask the question,

  935. who comes to the table?

  936. Who is it that is called

  937. to come to the table?

  938. And the answer is

  939. only those who see that

  940. they are not worthy.

  941. Only those who see

  942. that we have nothing good

  943. in ourselves

  944. that we can offer God.

  945. we don't come with

  946. a spiritual portfolio.

  947. We come with empty hands.

  948. We come acknowledging

  949. the fact that

  950. there is nothing

  951. that we can trade in.

  952. You know,

  953. when it comes to

  954. the stage where we want

  955. to buy a new car,

  956. we see the car

  957. that we want

  958. and we go to the salesman

  959. at the garage.

  960. and we ask about the price.

  961. But in the conversation,

  962. we're saying,

  963. I have another car

  964. parked out the back

  965. and it's just four years old

  966. and I've looked after it

  967. and it's only got

  968. 50,000 miles on it.

  969. So what will you give me for it?

  970. I want to do a trade-in.

  971. Let's come to a deal.

  972. Let's negotiate.

  973. Let's bargain here.

  974. Let's trade.

  975. And that's the way

  976. we approach

  977. a salesman

  978. in a garage.

  979. But

  980. when we come to Jesus,

  981. let's remember

  982. that

  983. we have nothing

  984. that we can negotiate with.

  985. There's nothing

  986. that we can come

  987. and bring

  988. to trade in.

  989. as we prepare

  990. to come

  991. to the Lord's table.

  992. Jonathan Edwards said,

  993. you contribute nothing

  994. to your salvation

  995. except the sin

  996. that made it necessary.

  997. It's a very humbling

  998. truth that is pressed in on us.

  999. You contribute nothing.

  1000. I contribute nothing

  1001. to my salvation

  1002. except the sin

  1003. that made it necessary.

  1004. And so

  1005. as we come

  1006. to the Lord's table,

  1007. as we come

  1008. to Jesus,

  1009. we come

  1010. not like the wise

  1011. and understanding.

  1012. That's the lesson.

  1013. we come

  1014. telling Jesus

  1015. about the

  1016. good religious

  1017. things we do.

  1018. We don't come

  1019. showboating

  1020. the great

  1021. theological truths

  1022. we have grasped.

  1023. We come

  1024. in humility

  1025. with reverence

  1026. and simple

  1027. faith

  1028. like little

  1029. children.

  1030. This is the will

  1031. of the Father.

  1032. The second point,

1033. the will of the Father

  1034. is the first thing

  1035. that we are taught

  1036. by Jesus

  1037. as we listen in

  1038. to this

  1039. lesson.

  1040. The second thing

  1041. we see here

  1042. is the way

  1043. to the Father.

  1044. Jesus says

  1045. in verse 27,

  1046. all things

  1047. have been handed

  1048. over to me

  1049. by my Father.

  1050. So that's

  1051. where we start.

  1052. So what's Jesus

  1053. saying in that

  1054. statement?

  1055. Well,

  1056. Jesus is saying

  1057. in that statement

  1058. what Matthew

  1059. is teaching

  1060. so clearly

  1061. right throughout

  1062. the Gospel.

  1063. Jesus is saying

  1064. that he is king.

  1065. All things,

  1066. says Jesus,

  1067. all authority

  1068. has been handed

  1069. over to me

  1070. by my Father.

  1071. Jesus is making

  1072. clear that he

  1073. has authority,

  1074. that he has

  1075. kingly authority.

  1076. And we see

  1077. that kingly authority

  1078. illustrated in

  1079. lots of ways.

  1080. We could just

  1081. glance back

  1082. through a few

  1083. chapters.

  1084. You can do that

  1085. yourself later

  1086. in the evening.

  1087. And as we scan

  1088. over the past

  1089. few chapters,

  1090. we can see

  1091. where the

  1092. authority of Jesus

  1093. is so clearly

  1094. demonstrated.

  1095. when Jesus

  1096. preaches,

  1097. people listen.

  1098. Matthew 7

  1099. and at verse 29

  1100. says,

  1101. he was teaching

  1102. them as one

  1103. who had

  1104. authority,

  1105. not as the

  1106. scribes.

  1107. he's teaching

  1108. them like the

  1109. king,

  1110. but he was

  1111. and is.

  1112. And then

  1113. there's the

  1114. miracles.

  1115. We see all

  1116. these records

  1117. of miracles

  1118. in Matthew's

  1119. Gospel.

  1120. Jesus is healing

  1121. the sick.

  1122. He is

  1123. casting out

  1124. demons.

  1125. He's raising

  1126. the dead.

  1127. And through

  1128. these miracles,

  1129. through these

  1130. signs and

  1131. wonders,

  1132. we see the

  1133. authority of

  1134. Jesus.

  1135. And even if we

  1136. rewind a few

  1137. verses to the

  1138. section that we

  1139. were in last

  1140. night,

  1141. we listen to

  1142. Jesus as he

  1143. pronounces

  1144. woe on

  1145. Carazin and

  1146. Bethsaida and

  1147. Capernaum.

  1148. And as he

  1149. pronounces these

  1150. woes, he is

  1151. showing that he

  1152. has authority

  1153. to judge.

  1154. He is judge

  1155. and king.

  1156. And now

  1157. Jesus goes on

  1158. to teach that he

  1159. has authority

  1160. to save.

  1161. Verse 27.

  1162. Jesus says,

  1163. no one knows

  1164. the Son

  1165. except the

  1166. Father.

  1167. And Jesus is

  1168. teaching in

  1169. these verses

  1170. that he is

  1171. God the Son.

  1172. He calls

  1173. God his

  1174. Father,

  1175. which to

  1176. us doesn't

  1177. surprise us,

  1178. but to those

  1179. who are listening

  1180. on this day,

  1181. they would have

  1182. been shocked

  1183. and appalled

  1184. to hear such

  1185. language.

  1186. And yet

  1187. Jesus is just

  1188. teaching the

  1189. truth.

  1190. of who he

  1191. was and

  1192. is.

  1193. No one

  1194. knows the

  1195. Father

  1196. except the

  1197. Son.

  1198. Verse 27,

  1199. if I continue,

  1200. no one knows

  1201. the Son

  1202. except the

  1203. Father,

  1204. and no one

  1205. knows the

  1206. Father except

  1207. the Son,

  1208. and anyone

  1209. to whom the

  1210. Son chooses

  1211. to reveal

  1212. him.

  1213. And with

  1214. that statement,

  1215. Jesus,

  1216. he emphasizes,

  1217. he gives

  1218. us

  1219. something of

  1220. a window in

  1221. to the

  1222. Trinity.

  1223. there's

  1224. something of

  1225. the intimacy

  1226. of the

  1227. Trinity

  1228. revealed to

  1229. us as

  1230. Jesus speaks

  1231. of his

  1232. Father and

  1233. the relationship

  1234. between

  1235. Father and

  1236. Son.

  1237. But then

  1238. Jesus goes

  1239. on, you

  1240. could say,

  1241. to open the

  1242. door further

  1243. to show

  1244. us

  1245. that we

  1246. can know

  1247. the

  1248. Father.

  1249. Something

  1250. that would

  1251. have shocked

  1252. the people

  1253. as they

  1254. heard him

  1255. speak.

  1256. So how

  1257. can we

  1258. know the

  1259. Father?

  1260. How can

  1261. the Father

  1262. be revealed

  1263. to us?

  1264. How can

  1265. we be

  1266. brought

  1267. into

  1268. relationship

  1269. with

  1270. God?

  1271. The most

  1272. important

  1273. question any

  1274. of us will

  1275. ever grapple

  1276. with, how

  1277. can we be

  1278. brought into

  1279. relationship

  1280. with God?

  1281. How can

  1282. we know

  1283. the Father?

  1284. How can

  1285. we gain

  1286. access to

  1287. heaven where

  1288. the Father

  1289. is?

  1290. And the

  1291. answer is

  1292. through

  1293. Jesus.

  1294. Jesus.

  1295. And

  1296. only

  1297. through

  1298. Jesus.

  1299. No

  1300. other way,

  1301. no other

  1302. name,

  1303. no other

  1304. route,

  1305. no other

  1306. religion,

  1307. no other

  1308. man.

  1309. Only

  1310. Jesus.

  1311. The only

  1312. way that we

  1313. can know

  1314. God, the

  1315. only way that

  1316. the Father

  1317. can be

  1318. revealed to

  1319. us is

  1320. through

  1321. Jesus.

  1322. this

  1323. connects

  1324. with

  1325. John 14

  1326. 6,

  1327. these

  1328. familiar

  1329. verses

  1330. that we

  1331. know so

  1332. well.

  1333. Jesus

  1334. says,

  1335. I am

  1336. the way,

  1337. the way,

  1338. singular,

  1339. full stop.

  1340. No one

  1341. comes to

  1342. the Father

  1343. except

  1344. through me,

  1345. says Jesus.

  1346. Jesus.

  1347. Or

  1348. John

    John 10 chapter mention

  1349. chapter 10

  1350. and verse

  1351. 9,

  1352. Jesus

  1353. says,

  1354. I am

  1355. the

  1356. door.

  1357. The

  1358. way to

  1359. the

  1360. Father

  1361. is

  1362. through

  1363. Jesus,

  1364. the

  1365. Son.

  1366. One

  1367. commentator,

  1368. again,

  1369. it's

  1370. Ryle,

  1371. says,

  1372. Jesus

  1373. bears

  1374. the

  1375. keys.

  1376. To

  1377. him,

  1378. we

  1379. must

  1380. go for

  1381. admission

  1382. into

  1383. heaven.

  1384. He is

  1385. the

  1386. door.

  1387. Through

  1388. him,

  1389. we

  1390. must

  1391. enter.

  1392. He

  1393. is

  1394. the

  1395. shepherd.

  1396. We

  1397. must

  1398. hear

  1399. his

  1400. voice

  1401. and

  1402. follow

  1403. him.

  1404. If

  1405. we

  1406. would

  1407. not

  1408. perish

  1409. in

  1410. the

  1411. wilderness,

  1412. he

  1413. is

  1414. the

  1415. physician.

  1416. We

  1417. must

  1418. apply

  1419. to

  1420. him.

  1421. If

  1422. we

  1423. would

  1424. be

  1425. healed

  1426. of

  1427. the

  1428. plague

  1429. of

  1430. sin,

  1431. he

  1432. is

  1433. the

  1434. bread

  1435. of

  1436. life.

  1437. We

  1438. must

  1439. feed

  1440. on

  1441. him.

  1442. If

  1443. we

  1444. would

  1445. have

  1446. our

  1447. soul

  1448. satisfied.

  1449. !

  1450. He

  1451. is

  1452. the

  1453. light.

  1454. We

  1455. must

  1456. walk

  1457. after

  1458. him.

  1459. If

  1460. we

  1461. would

  1462. not

  1463. wander

  1464. into

  1465. darkness,

  1466. he

  1467. is

  1468. the

  1469. fountain.

  1470. We

  1471. must

  1472. wash

  1473. in

  1474. his

  1475. blood

  1476. if

  1477. we

  1478. would

  1479. be

  1480. cleansed

  1481. and

  1482. made

  1483. ready

  1484. for

  1485. the

  1486. great

  1487. day

  1488. of

  1489. account.

  1490. The

  1491. so-called

  1492. wise

  1493. and

  1494. understanding

  1495. who

  1496. were

  1497. rejecting

  1498. Jesus,

  1499. they

  1500. were

  1501. choosing

  1502. woe,

  1503. they

  1504. were

  1505. choosing

  1506. judgment,

  1507. they

  1508. were

  1509. choosing

  1510. hell.

  1511. But

  1512. those

  1513. who

  1514. came

  1515. like

  1516. little

  1517. children

  1518. to

  1519. Jesus

  1520. were

  1521. being

  1522. assured

  1523. that

  1524. this

  1525. was

  1526. the

  1527. way

  1528. to

  1529. the

  1530. Father.

  1531. So

  1532. the

  1533. will

  1534. of

  1535. the

  1536. Father

  1537. is

  1538. that

  1539. we

  1540. will

  1541. come

  1542. to

  1543. Jesus

  1544. like

  1545. little

  1546. children.

  1547. The

  1548. way

  1549. to

  1550. the

  1551. Father

  1552. is

  1553. through

  1554. Jesus

  1555. the

  1556. Son,

  1557. the

  1558. Savior.

  1559. And we

  1560. finish

  1561. with the

  1562. call

  1563. of the

  1564. Son.

  1565. Verse 28

  1566. is as

  1567. far as

  1568. we'll

  1569. get.

  1570. Jesus

  1571. says,

  1572. come

  1573. to

  1574. me,

  1575. all

  1576. who

  1577. labor

  1578. and

  1579. are

  1580. heavy

  1581. laden,

  1582. and I

  1583. will

  1584. give

  1585. you

  1586. rest.

  1587. Weerspe,

  1588. the

  1589. commentator,

  1590. says,

  1591. the

  1592. Pharisees

  1593. all

  1594. said

  1595. do

  1596. and

  1597. tried

  1598. to

  1599. make

  1600. the

  1601. people

  1602. follow

  1603. Moses

  1604. and

  1605. the

  1606. traditions,

  1607. but

  1608. true

  1609. salvation

  1610. is

  1611. found

  1612. only

  1613. in

  1614. a

  1615. person,

  1616. Jesus

  1617. Christ.

  1618. And

  1619. that

  1620. person,

  1621. Jesus

  1622. Christ,

  1623. God

  1624. the

  1625. Son,

  1626. the

  1627. Savior,

  1628. the

  1629. King

  1630. of

  1631. Kings,

  1632. he

  1633. says

  1634. to

  1635. us,

  1636. come,

  1637. come

  1638. to

  1639. me.

  1640. And

  1641. just

  1642. think

  1643. about

  1644. the

  1645. privilege

  1646. of

  1647. that

  1648. and

  1649. the

  1650. wonder

  1651. of

  1652. that.

  1653. The

  1654. magnitude

  1655. of

  1656. the

  1657. goodness

  1658. of

  1659. the

  1660. news

  1661. that

  1662. is

  1663. communicated

  1664. to

  1665. us

  1666. in

  1667. that

  1668. God

  1669. the

  1670. Son,

  1671. the

  1672. Savior,

  1673. the

  1674. one

  1675. who

  1676. promises

  1677. access

  1678. into

  1679. heaven,

  1680. eternal

  1681. life,

  1682. forgiveness

  1683. of

  1684. sin.

  1685. He

  1686. doesn't

  1687. push us

  1688. away.

  1689. He

  1690. doesn't

  1691. hold us

  1692. at a

  1693. distance.

  1694. He

  1695. says

  1696. come.

  1697. I was

  1698. watching

  1699. a

  1700. video

  1701. on

  1702. the

  1703. computer

  1704. the

  1705. other

  1706. day

  1707. and

  1708. there

  1709. was

  1710. a

  1711. concert

  1712. and

  1713. the

  1714. lead

  1715. singer

  1716. was

  1717. singing

  1718. and

  1719. at

  1720. one

  1721. point

  1722. he

  1723. extends

  1724. his

  1725. hand

  1726. and

  1727. this

  1728. girl

  1729. in her

  1730. 20s

  1731. or 30s

  1732. is

  1733. invited

  1734. onto

  1735. the

  1736. stage

  1737. and

  1738. she

  1739. sings

  1740. along

  1741. with

  1742. this

  1743. singer

  1744. and

  1745. all

  1746. these

  1747. comments

  1748. underneath

  1749. are

  1750. saying

  1751. how

  1752. amazing

  1753. that

  1754. she's

  1755. not

  1756. pushed

  1757. back

  1758. by

  1759. security,

  1760. how

  1761. amazing

  1762. that

  1763. she

  1764. gets

  1765. to

  1766. come.

  1767. This

  1768. is a

  1769. life

  1770. changing

  1771. experience.

  1772. It's

  1773. only a

  1774. singer.

  1775. It's

  1776. only a

  1777. moment.

  1778. But

  1779. there's

  1780. such

  1781. amazement

  1782. that

  1783. this

  1784. singer

  1785. who's

  1786. got

  1787. some

  1788. degree

  1789. of

  1790. importance

  1791. says

  1792. come.

  1793. And

  1794. yet

  1795. here

  1796. the

  1797. King

  1798. of

  1799. Kings

  1800. the

  1801. Lord

  1802. of

  1803. Lords

  1804. the

  1805. Saviour

  1806. the

  1807. Son

  1808. of

  1809. God

  1810. says

  1811. come

  1812. to

  1813. me.

  1814. Who

  1815. can

  1816. come?

  1817. Well,

  1818. those

  1819. to

  1820. whom

  1821. the

  1822. Father

  1823. has

  1824. revealed

  1825. the

  1826. Son.

  1827. Verse

  1828. 25.

  1829. If we

  1830. think

  1831. back to

  1832. the day

  1833. that

  1834. Jesus

  1835. first

  1836. spoke

  1837. these

  1838. words,

  1839. there

  1840. were

  1841. many

  1842. who

  1843. heard

  1844. the

  1845. call,

  1846. but

  1847. they

  1848. wouldn't

  1849. come.

  1850. They

  1851. could

  1852. see no

  1853. reason

  1854. to

  1855. come

  1856. to

  1857. Jesus.

  1858. The

  1859. beauty,

  1860. the

  1861. glory,

  1862. of

  1863. Jesus

  1864. was

  1865. hidden

  1866. from

  1867. them.

  1868. So how

  1869. do we

  1870. know

  1871. tonight

  1872. if the

  1873. Father

  1874. is

  1875. revealing

  1876. the

  1877. Son

  1878. to

  1879. us?

  1880. How

  1881. do we

  1882. know

  1883. if this

  1884. call

  1885. is for

  1886. us?

  1887. Well,

  1888. we

  1889. know

  1890. because

  1891. we feel

  1892. weary

  1893. and

  1894. heavy

  1895. laden.

  1896. And we

  1897. know

  1898. that the

  1899. reason

  1900. for the

  1901. weight

  1902. that makes

  1903. us weary

  1904. and weighs

  1905. us down

  1906. and leaves

  1907. us restless

  1908. is sin.

  1909. sin.

  1910. And when

  1911. we see

  1912. that,

  1913. when we

  1914. feel that

  1915. God

  1916. is working

  1917. in us,

  1918. Jesus told

  1919. us in

  1920. John

    John 16 chapter mention

  1921. chapter 16

  1922. and verse

  1923. 8 that

  1924. when the

  1925. Spirit

  1926. comes,

  1927. He

  1928. convicts

  1929. us of

  1930. sin.

  1931. And we're

  1932. told in

  1933. verse 25

  1934. that the

  1935. Father

  1936. reveals

  1937. Jesus

  1938. to us

  1939. as the

  1940. Savior of

  1941. sinners.

  1942. And when

  1943. these things,

  1944. these things

  1945. come together,

  1946. when we

  1947. see,

  1948. as I pray

  1949. that we

  1950. see tonight,

  1951. that we

  1952. are great

  1953. sinners

  1954. and that

  1955. Christ

  1956. is the

  1957. great

  1958. Savior,

  1959. we are

  1960. to come

  1961. to Him

  1962. in

  1963. response

  1964. to His

  1965. call,

  1966. to us.

  1967. And we're

  1968. to confess

  1969. our sin.

  1970. We're

  1971. to ask

  1972. Him to

  1973. take the

  1974. weight of

  1975. that sin

  1976. from us.

  1977. And that's

  1978. what the

  1979. cross is

  1980. all about.

  1981. The

  1982. weight of

  1983. our sin

  1984. at Calvary

  1985. is transferred

  1986. from us

  1987. to Jesus.

  1988. We

  1989. often sing

  1990. a line

  1991. in a hymn,

  1992. Behold

  1993. the man

  1994. upon

  1995. the cross,

  1996. my sin

  1997. upon

  1998. His

  1999. shoulders.

  2000. And yet

  2001. when we

  2002. come to

  2003. Jesus,

  2004. He takes

  2005. our sin

  2006. away from

  2007. us.

  2008. That's

  2009. His

  2010. promise.

  2011. And He

  2012. gives us

  2013. rest.

  2014. So the

  2015. call of

  2016. the Son

  2017. is come

  2018. to me.

  2019. Come

  2020. to me,

  2021. says

  2022. Jesus.

  2023. If you

  2024. feel weary,

  2025. if you

  2026. feel burdened,

  2027. if you

  2028. know that

  2029. you're a

  2030. sinner,

  2031. come to

  2032. me,

  2033. says

  2034. Jesus,

  2035. and keep

  2036. on coming

  2037. to me.

  2038. So will

  2039. we do

  2040. that

  2041. tonight?

  2042. Will we

  2043. come to

  2044. Jesus?

  2045. Maybe

  2046. there's

  2047. someone

  2048. who's

  2049. come into

  2050. this church

  2051. a thousand

  2052. times,

  2053. but still

  2054. you haven't

  2055. come to

  2056. Jesus.

  2057. come to

  2058. Him.

  2059. Tonight,

  2060. maybe there's

  2061. someone watching

  2062. at a distance

  2063. who never

  2064. comes into

  2065. the church,

  2066. and yet

  2067. is beginning

  2068. to feel

  2069. the weight

  2070. of sin,

  2071. and beginning

  2072. to understand

  2073. the restlessness

  2074. of heart.

  2075. Come to

  2076. Jesus.

  2077. And then

  2078. come to

  2079. the table.

  2080. like little

  2081. children,

  2082. like little

  2083. children,

  2084. to remember

  2085. with gratitude

  2086. all that

  2087. Jesus has

  2088. done

  2089. in and

  2090. through

  2091. His death

  2092. to secure

  2093. our salvation

  2094. and to

  2095. promise us

  2096. eternal

  2097. rest.

  2098. come to

  2099. me,

  2100. all who

  2101. labor

  2102. and are

  2103. heavy laden,

  2104. and I

  2105. will give

  2106. you rest.

  2107. The call

  2108. of the

  2109. Son.

  2110. Let's

  2111. pray.

  2112. Our

  2113. Heavenly

  2114. Father,

  2115. we thank

  2116. you for

  2117. your word,

  2118. and we

  2119. thank you

  2120. for your

  2121. will that

  2122. is revealed

  2123. to us in

  2124. the verses

  2125. that we've

  2126. read this

  2127. evening.

  2128. We thank

  2129. you that

  2130. it is your

  2131. will to

  2132. hide from

  2133. those who

  2134. are full

  2135. of pride

  2136. the wonder

  2137. and glory

  2138. of your

  2139. Son,

  2140. and to

  2141. reveal

  2142. the

  2143. wonder

  2144. and the

  2145. salvation

  2146. that is

  2147. promised in

  2148. Jesus to

  2149. those who

  2150. are

  2151. recognizing

  2152. that we

  2153. are sinners.

  2154. We thank

  2155. you that

  2156. when we

  2157. see that

  2158. we are

  2159. sinners,

  2160. God,

  2161. the Holy

  2162. Spirit,

  2163. is at

  2164. work.

  2165. We cannot

  2166. see this

  2167. on our

  2168. own.

  2169. It's a

  2170. work of

  2171. the Spirit.

  2172. And we

  2173. thank you

  2174. that when

  2175. we see

  2176. that we

  2177. are sinners,

  2178. we also

  2179. are shown

  2180. that Jesus

  2181. is the

  2182. Savior.

  2183. He is

  2184. the way

  2185. to the

  2186. Father.

  2187. O come

  2188. to the

  2189. Father

  2190. through

  2191. Jesus the

  2192. Son and

  2193. give him

  2194. the glory.

  2195. Great

  2196. things he

  2197. hath done.

  2198. Help us,

  2199. we pray,

  2200. as we

  2201. prepare to

  2202. come to

  2203. the table,

  2204. as we

  2205. prepare for

  2206. your day,

  2207. to remember

  2208. and to

  2209. rejoice in

  2210. the great

  2211. things that

  2212. Jesus has

  2213. done for

  2214. us.

  2215. And help

  2216. each one of

  2217. us, we

  2218. pray, to

  2219. come in

  2220. response to

  2221. the call,

  2222. to trust

  2223. Christ,

  2224. in response

  2225. to the

  2226. command to

  2227. do these

  2228. things,

  2229. to remember

  2230. him.

  2231. Help us,

  2232. we ask,

  2233. in Jesus'

  2234. name.

  2235. Amen.

  2236. We'll sing

  2237. to conclude

  2238. from

  2239. Psalm,

  2240. sing

  2241. Psalms 116,

  2242. page 154,

  2243. from verse

  2244. 12 to

  2245. verse 19.

  2246. How can I

  2247. thank the

  2248. Lord for

  2249. all he's

  2250. done.

  2251. With

  2252. gratitude,

  2253. salvation's

  2254. cup I'll

  2255. raise.

  2256. I'll call

  2257. upon his

  2258. name and

  2259. will

  2260. fulfill my

  2261. vows to

  2262. him before

  2263. his people's

  2264. face.

  2265. Down to

  2266. the end

  2267. of the

  2268. Psalm,

  2269. to God's

  2270. praise.

  2271. Psalm 116,

    Psalms 116:12

  2272. verse 12 to

  2273. verse 19,

  2274. page 154 of

  2275. the Psalter.

  2276. Oh,

  2277. can I

  2278. thank the

  2279. Lord for

  2280. all he's

  2281. done,

  2282. with

  2283. gratitude,

  2284. salvation,

  2285. cup I

  2286. raise.

  2287. I'll

  2288. walk

  2289. upon

  2290. his

  2291. name and

  2292. will

  2293. fulfill

  2294. my

  2295. love to

  2296. him before

  2297. his

  2298. people's

  2299. face.

  2300. The

  2301. Lord,

  2302. don't

  2303. hear the

  2304. death of

  2305. all

  2306. his

  2307. face.

  2308. Hear

  2309. me,

  2310. O

  2311. Lord,

  2312. I am

  2313. your

  2314. servant

  2315. too.

  2316. I

  2317. am

  2318. your

  2319. servant

  2320. and

  2321. your

  2322. son.

  2323. And

  2324. what

  2325. change

  2326. I

  2327. have

  2328. been

  2329. free

  2330. by

  2331. you.

  2332. And

  2333. what

  2334. means

  2335. I

  2336. will

  2337. sacrifice

  2338. to

  2339. you.

  2340. And

  2341. call

  2342. upon

  2343. the

  2344. name

  2345. of

  2346. God

  2347. the

  2348. Lord,

  2349. !

  2350. When

  2351. our

  2352. people

  2353. live

  2354. not

  2355. set

  2356. me

  2357. eat,

  2358. which

  2359. I

  2360. have

  2361. fulfilled

  2362. my

  2363. solemn

  2364. word.

  2365. Before

  2366. his

  2367. people

  2368. I

  2369. will

  2370. keep

  2371. my

  2372. blood

  2373. love

  2374. within

  2375. the

  2376. of

  2377. our

  2378. God's

  2379. holy

  2380. place,

  2381. within

  2382. the

  2383. city

  2384. of

  2385. Jerusalem,

  2386. to

  2387. the

  2388. Lord

  2389. alone

  2390. be

  2391. all

  2392. the

  2393. place.

  2394. Now

  2395. may

  2396. the

  2397. grace

  2398. of

  2399. our

  2400. Lord

  2401. Jesus

  2402. Christ,

  2403. the

  2404. love

  2405. of

  2406. God

  2407. the

  2408. Father,

  2409. and

  2410. the

  2411. fellowship

  2412. of

  2413. God

  2414. the

  2415. Holy

  2416. Spirit

  2417. be

  2418. with

  2419. us

  2420. all

  2421. now

  2422. and

  2423. forever

  2424. more.

  2425. Amen.
