And then I want to preach sermon this evening called be the one be the one I drew inspiration from

What I've heard about and considering this Lindsey Clancy trial apparently there was an 11 to 1

Miss trial and essentially there was as rumored one man that has basically

it was not willing to capitulate and to

Allow her to get off or quit her of her murder charge and that's the whole reason there was a mistrial

So it would have been very easy for that one person to have particular just gone along with the other 11

And it would just been an automatic acquittal and that she would have not been found guilty

By insanity or whatever nonsense, but you know, I don't even know who this is. I don't know this person

I don't know if they're saved someone needs to buy a mistake though. That's how I feel

You know what I mean? So I volunteer if we ever figure out who this guy is well, but I'll buy a mistake and give him the gospel

All right, so

But you know, I just your inspiration of this and I think this is a biblical principle that you see often in the Bible

there's very few that'll do the right thing and

So we should take inspiration to say sometimes we need to be the one when there's so many people stacked against us

And there's only one willing to do the right thing or one

that's gonna do the hard job and

We see in the book of Amos he is a preacher that's kind of like the one because he's going to Israel

He's not even from the stuff from the northern kingdom

He's he's like just going up there to preach and he's not really a part of their group

But he's just he's willing to be the one guy that's willing to do the dirty job

And what I would say in this text is he's the one that's willing to rebuke in the gate

Even though it's not popular

It's not what people want to hear in fact people are going to hate you for doing it

But let's read the the chapter here a little bit more again. It says in verse four

For thus say the lord under the house of israel

Seek me and ye shall live this isn't even a bad message. Hey trust god, you know seek the lord

You're gonna live you're gonna have you're gonna have a good life here

And of course you get eternal life, but then you're gonna get the best life

You're gonna have on this life by seeking the lord

But seek not Bethel nor enter into Gilgau and pass not to Beersheba for Gilgau

Shall surely go into captivity and Bethel shall come to not

So, you know, there's been false gods and false religions set up in the northern kingdom of israel

And amos is coming to warn them and say hey

Don't seek this false religion. Don't seek this thing that's turned away from god

No, seek the lord and you'll end up living because this northern kingdom is going to go into captivity

Is going to be imprisoned and so you don't want to do that you want to seek god

It says in verse six seek the lord and you shall live lest he break out like fire

In the house of joseph and devour it and there be none to quench it in Bethel

Ye who turn judgment to wormwood and leave off righteousness in the earth

Seek him that make it the seven stars in orion and turn it the shadow of death into the morning

And make it the day dark with night that call up for the waters of the sea

And pour it them out upon the face of the earth the lord is his name that strengtheneth the spoiled

Against the strong so that the spoils will come against the fortress

They hate him that rebuketh in the gate and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly

So notice there is a proclamation here from the preacher saying this is what god is saying

We never we never left the context look at verse four for thus say it the lord

Under the house of israel so this is god

Trying to say look

You know by and large mankind and evil

They're gonna hate the guy that gets up and rebukes in the gate. They're gonna abhor him that should be expected

But you know what you need to listen to the man of god

You need to listen to the guy that is is rebuking

But here's the thing in order for someone to hear the buke there has to be the one

Who's willing to rebuke in the gate?

And you know what we need more people in this world that are gonna be the one who rebukes in the gate

And again the gate is a picture of the the political sphere

The the online discourse in the public arena, you know, the bible talks about us earnestly contending for the faith

You know, I don't believe that

Fundamental babes should all hide and bury their heads in the sand and pretend like we're just waiting for the rapture

I think it makes sense to go out in the public square and the public arena of ideas

And let our voice be known because it's not really our voice. It's god's voice that needs to be heard

We need god's word and god's opinions to be thundered forth

Into the the public marketplace and it doesn't matter if people hate you

It doesn't matter if people get mad at you because really they're just mad at god and they're mad at the truth

Yeah, yeah, they hate the truth

But you know what sometimes we need just the one guy that's willing to go out there and rebuke in the gate

And what I would attribute this is us

We should be willing to say the truth and preach what god's word says wherever we find ourselves

And to be honest probably the most offensive message you can even say

anywhere is that hey

Catholics aren't saved

But you know the the buddhist isn't saved

Muslims aren't saved your non-denominational church is not saved

I remember the the embraced grace people that were near us and Hearst

The most offensive thing I ever said was that robert morris was a false prophet

Because I mean we were just discussing and she was kind of mad at me and whatever

But as soon as I said that she just blew a gasket, you know

I'm sure it's real disappointing to find out. He's a pedophile literally

The most offensive thing you can typically say is just the gospel and tell people they're not saved and say they're going to go to hell

And look it is one of the most offensive things you can possibly say you bring that up

You know that or that, you know fact should be killed. I mean that for some reason

It's just anytime I post something like that, you know, it's funny because now social media will tell you like how many net followers

You get from a post it's always negative like

Like I I post all the time and I'm always looking at the stats and analyzing things

There's only one topic that I get negative net views and it's always that topic for some reason

It's just it's like crazy, you know, he's like you post you post something about the jews

It's just like thousand new followers

Right, then you say like hey, you know, here's the gospel. It's like negative

It's usually just like net zero

Then it's like hey fact should be executed according to leviticus 2030 minus 10 followers, you know

It's just like what the world I guess 10 fags left the room. That's no problem with me. You know what I mean

But it's just it's just funny

How you know people just hate the truth

And they'll be like, oh well, it's just because you're preaching this message that they're mad at you

No, the gospel is pretty pretty close to the same anyways

And it's virtually just as offensive anyways

And most people get they get mad when you say the reprobate doctrine even more than the death penalty one, you know

So it's just like this is really offensive

But you know what we need somebody it's going to be the one that's willing to lose a few followers to say the truth

We need to be the one that's willing to hey confront people on the gospel and confront people on the truth

And get the truth out there and be willing to speak in the gate

And you know, unfortunately just seems like in the political sphere in the podcast sphere and the culture sphere

There's virtually no one speaking the truth. And so, you know, we need someone to be the one

We need someone to be the one that's going to preach the truth and preach god's word

It doesn't have to be one. It doesn't have to be limited to one

But we need at least one. We need someone to be the one

And you know, if you find yourself in a particular position, you know, there's 12 jurors

Not everybody can step in. There's only 12 people and we need one of those 12

At least be the person to stand in the gap and say, hey, we're not going to just side with evil here

We're going to be the one. Look at chapter 7 verse 10

Sometimes you have to preach the hard message and rebuke in the gate

This is what Amos does. Look it says in verse 10

Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel saying

Amos has conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel

The land is not able to bear all his words

We should censor him

Should ban him, you know, it's funny. He preaches against Bethel and instead of this guy just

Preaching against him or showing him how he's wrong. It's like we need to shut this guy up

You know this we can't handle it. We can't hand it. This is offensive

Think about it. The land can't handle the words

What do you mean words? How about how about just the fact that you're shedding blood

How about the fact that you're killing people and oppressing people? It's like that's fine. The land can tolerate murder

Rape adultery theft drunkenness, but you know what it can't handle words saying that it's bad

It's just like it's the thing about this social media spends way more effort energy

Banning the bible literally than it does actual adult content

But it's just at the end of the day. It's funny how that's the only thing that's not tolerable

It's the only thing that's not allowed is god's word

It's no new thing under the sun verse 11 for thus aim us sayeth

Jeroboam shall die by the sword and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of their own land

Also, Amaziah said unto Amos, O thou seer go

Flea thee away in the land of Judah and there eat bread and prophesy there

But prophesy not again anymore at Bethel for does the king's chapel and it is the king's court

So he's just like you need to just get away. Stop

Don't be the the person here and of course, why would he send him away because he's the only one speaking the truth

And amos is that one, but you know what amos is not going to do. He's not going to go back

He's going to be the one to rebuke in the gate

He says then answered amos and said to amaziah

I was no prophet

Neither was I a prophet's son

But I was a herdman and a gatherer of sycamore fruit

And the lord took me as I followed the flock and the lord said to me go

Prophecy unto my people Israel

So, you know, he's saying thank god told me to come here. It's not this isn't my job

I'm not doing it for money. I don't even want to do it. My dad wasn't like you're gonna do this

I was just minding my own business and then god's like, hey, you need to be the one

You need to be the one to go and to preach to israel and to warn them from me

And to preach god's word and to rebuke in the gate

So he did it and he says in verse 16 now therefore hear the word of the lord

I got a special message from god to you

Thou sayest

Prophecy not against israel and drop not thy word against thou's of isaac. So saying you're telling me

Not to preach the bible. You're telling me not to preach god's word

Well verse 17 therefore thus say the lord

Thy wife shall be a harlot in the city

And thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword and thy land shall be divided by line

And thou shalt die in a polluted land and israel shall surely go into captivity fourth of his land

Saying hey, you don't want god's word here. You want me to stop preaching god's word

Okay, well, guess what then your wife's gonna be a whore and your kids are gonna die

And you are gonna be taken captive and you're gonna die in a polluted land and israel's gonna go into captivity

That's your punishment

You know, if you don't want to hear god's word

I don't think that this message is limited

To this particular false prophet. I think that god could do the same thing to anybody who has this particular attitude

You know, it's funny because we had like a crew of people from the netherlands come and visit our church a while back

I don't remember exactly when this was so forgive me. It was like a year ago or something or months ago

I don't remember but they showed up one sunday

And they want to ask me all about, you know, what do you think about fags?

All the comments are in dutch, which I don't speak dutch

I don't know exactly what they said, but I I'm trusting the translation and just to be honest

It seemed like it was probably accurate. All right

Now, you know, I was clicking one is like man, this guy's talking about killing homos. Just like he's ordering a sandwich or something

You know, it included some of our church members and one of them the guy's like man

She just seems like such a nice person

But then she's just saying all these evil things or whatever

The point that i'm bringing up about this though is that the vast majority. I mean

I don't know how many comments I'm there was thousands and thousands of comments

I didn't obviously read all of them, but I did look through a large percentage of them

And it's just like by and large they just really hate everything that I said

And they're saying there's many comments that are saying this guy should be arrested

This guy should be put in jail. He shouldn't be allowed to say that

And in fact the episode is making clear like if he's saying these things here

He would be arrested if he was saying these things in this country

Like we would arrest him and put him in jail. It is illegal. He's not allowed to say that

And you know, I think it's funny. It's like god

He realizes like if I visited there and was just preaching the bible regularly and publicly

I could be arrested and thrown in jail

So in his providence what he decided is just have them come here and film me

I didn't pay anything and then take it back

So then I can still preach to millions of people in the netherlands

Without ever have to go there and getting arrested, you know, and it's like thank you god

Because I don't mind rebuking in their gate without ever going to their trash area

And look, I'm not saying that the netherlands is trash because I'm sure it's beautiful

So, you know, we need we need to be the one that rebukes in the gate

Be the one that rebukes in the gate even if it's a place that's doomed

Even if it's a place that hates god's word, even if it's a place where by and large, they're not going to receive you

You know what? We still need at least someone to go there and warn the few

And to preach god's word

And you know, unfortunately

Not not all the world's going to get saved. You know, I saw some like uh video online

And there's two girls arguing or something about the bible. This is like already a fail but

But but one was just like well by your religion of christianity

You're saying that 70 of the world's gonna die and go to hell then and i'm thinking like it's actually way higher probably

Well, the bible says at one point they're all gonna be burned up

It's like, oh, what about all the millions of people that probably lived on the earth when god flooded it and killed everyone

Except for no one in his family

I mean what you're 70% like who cares about the 70%

I mean, what was the percentage of no in his family in comparison to humanity at that point in time?

Okay, god in many cases is only saving a remnant is only saving a few

That's why you shouldn't be discouraged by the fact that the vast majority don't receive the bible

Sometimes you need to just be the one

Look at Ezekiel 22 verse 24

Ezekiel 22:24

Son of man say unto her thou art the land that is not cleansed nor reigned upon in the day of indignation

There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof like a roaring lion ravining the prey

They have devoured souls. They have taken the treasure and precious things

They have made her many widows in the midst thereof her priests have violated my law

And have profaned my holy things

They have put no difference between the holy and profane

Neither they showed difference between the unclean and the clean and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths and I am profaned among them

Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravining the prey to shed blood and destroy souls and to get dishonest gain

So what the text is saying is that ezekiel is prophesying god's word to those back home

And saying hey, I was trying to find someone back home that would stand in the gap

I was trying to find someone that would be the one and I found none

Of course ezekiel would have stood in the gap. Of course daniel would have stood in the gap

Of course shadrach mishak and abednego would have stood in the gap

But they were captives and where they were they were standing in the gap where they were they were being the one

But here's the thing. There is nobody here that was willing to stand in the gap

That also tells me that we need more than just one preacher and we need more than one man of god

Because hey, you need to be the gap filler in your area

You need to be the one that's standing in the gap wherever you find yourself

And you know what we need someone to be the one who rebukes in the gate

We also need someone that stands in the gap

And says hey, we need someone to do the right thing here and try to give god a reason to keep us around

But he couldn't find one. So verse 31 therefore have I poured out my indignation upon them

I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath

Their own way have I recompensed upon their heads say the lord god

He destroyed the entire area because not not not even a single person

Would stand in the gap

Go over to 1st Samuel chapter 17 go to 1st Samuel chapter 17

So I'm just showing you some examples of

Cases where someone does and where someone doesn't stand in the gap

But we need people to stand in the gap. We need people to rebuke in the gate

And sometimes god's even just looking for one

That's sad when you can't even find one 1st Samuel chapter 17. Of course, we have the famous story

And in verse 4 it describes this philistine says and there went out a champion out of the camp of the philistines named goliath of gath

And he had a helmet of brass upon his head and he was armed with a coat of mail

And the weight of the coat was 5000 shekels of brass

And he had greaves of brass upon his legs and a target of brass between his shoulders

And the staff of a spear was like a weavers beam and his spear's heads

Spears head weighed 600 shekels of iron and one bearing a shield went before him

And he stood and cried and in the armies of israel and said unto them

Why are you come out to set your battle in array?

Am not I a philistine and ye servants to saul

Choose you a man for you and let him come down to me

If you be able to fight with me and kill me

Then will we be your servants?

But if I prevail against him and kill him then show you be our servants

And serve us and the philistines said I defy the armies of israel this day

Give me a man that we may fight together

So you have this huge battle arrangement one camp against the other

They send out their champion their their best warrior

Goliath and he says look we don't even need to fight

We don't even need to have all this warfare. Let's just have one man

I just need one guy to come and if he kills me

Then y'all will take cap the vault of us and we'll be your servants

But hey, if you can't beat me

Then guess what y'all be our servants and all they need is just one man

Verse 26 david comes by and david spoke to the men that stood by him saying

What shall be done to the man that killeth this philistine and take it the way they're approached from israel

For who is this uncircumcised philistine that he should defy the armies of the living god

He's saying like who is this guy that gets to just trash talk god and trash talk the god of the bible

And specifically even trash talk his people

Trash talking the armies of the living god. Who's the armies of living god? That's the children of israel

And what would be a modern day equivalent would be the church of god

Who's trashing the church of god? Who's trashing the members of god's church?

Who's trashing the soul winners of god's church?

You know, how dare some guy get up and be able to trash the armies of the living god

Can't there be at least one person to fight this guy?

And so if there's no one to stand in the gap and to preach the gospel then why would god preserve an area?

So you know what we need people that are going to preach god's word and say the truth no matter what

We need someone that's going to go out and get people saved

And so you need to be the one that even when everyone gives up on you

You can truly be steadfast and notice the the motivation for doing so

He says in verse 17 now with standing the Lord stood with me and strengthened me

That by me the preaching might be fully known

And that all the Gentiles might hear and I was delivered out of the mouth of line

He said you know the reason why I needed to be strengthened

You know the reason why I didn't need to quit so that they would hear all the bible

So that all the preaching would be known and that everyone would hear the gospel

And that everyone would get the chance because that's the point where we're buking in the gate

And preaching the word of god so that all of god's word will be fully known

We're standing in the gap so that people can get saved

We're fighting the Goliaths that all the world may know
