-
gospel, and making disciples of Jesus Christ right here in the
-
heart of Greenville, SC. Each week we bring you a life
-
changing word from our Senior Pastor, Pastor Matthew D Long
-
Junior, or one of our anointed guest speakers.
-
We pray this message strengthens your faith, deepens your
-
understanding, and empowers you to elevate in every area of your
-
life. Let's join the service already
-
in progress to. The Church.
-
Amen. Amen.
-
Amen to this. Distinguished pastor.
-
Passed along and to this great church.
-
It's good to be here and I'm here out of great respect and
-
love for your pastor, Amen. I knew Rev long before he became
-
pastor of Rock Hill. Amen.
-
We have a chance to fellowship each Monday night at the
-
minister's fellowships, so I'm glad to see him here and his
-
leadership of this great church. Amen.
-
It's good to be here. I was thinking as I drove up
-
this morning. I served as president of the
-
Inner River of Congress Christian Education for several
-
years. I was elected here at Rock Hill
-
and men, I was elected right here as president of the
-
District of Congress. And I never forgot that.
-
So I'm glad to be here and to celebrate with you this
-
anniversary. And God bless you and good to
-
see all of you here today. And I bring you greetings from
-
Springfield Baptist Church, where I'm not the past emeritus
-
after a total of 41 years as pastor of, of that church.
-
Amen. We want to look at the third
-
chapter of Revelation. I want to read from the King
-
James Version from the 3rd chapter of Revelation verses 14
-
through 20, from the King James Version, Revelation 314 through
-
20 and to the Angel of the Church of the Let auditions.
-
Write these things, saith them in the faithful and true
-
witnesses, the beginning of the creation of God.
-
I know that works that thou art neither cold nor heart.
-
I but not work cold or hard. But then because there are
-
lukewarm and neither cold nor heart, I spew out my mouth
-
because thou says I'm rich and increase his goods.
-
They have. Need of nothing, and knoweth not
-
thou art. Thou art rich and miserable, and
-
poor, and blind, and nothing. I counsel thee to bear of me
-
gold tried in the fire, that thou may be rich in the white
-
raiment, that thou mayst be clothed, and that the shame of
-
thy necklace do not appear, and not thanks thine eyes with a
-
vast shadow, that thou may see as many as I love, I rebuke and
-
chasten. Be zealous therefore, and
-
repent. Behold, I stand at the door and
-
knock. If any.
-
Man, hear my voice, open the door.
-
I will come in with him or shut with him and be with me.
-
Amen. Amen.
-
Talk about a knock on the door. A knock on the door.
-
I appreciate the Book of Revelation.
-
The Bible could. Not have been.
-
Complete without the Book of Revelation, his Judas.
-
Talks to seven churches. 7 churches in Asian Judas knows
-
what's going on. In the church.
-
Youth knows what's Jesus knows. What's going on in Rock Hill?
-
The church is not just. About the preacher.
-
Or the deacons. Or the choir.
-
The churches of. Body of Christ can get a witness
-
here it's. Good when the church can stop
-
and celebrate an anniversary. A church anniversary.
-
Celebration is a. Chance.
-
To thank God for. One more year.
-
You survived one more. Year another.
-
Year went by when the devil did not steal your joy.
-
The Church has made-up of human beings.
-
We come. From different families to
-
different communities and different backgrounds.
-
But Jesus brings us together, the Spirit.
-
Brings us together. Love brings us together.
-
Grace and mercy brings us. Together the church.
-
Is not perfect, because we are not.
-
Perfect Rock Hill. Baptist Church could not have
-
lasted 138 years. You were doing everything.
-
Wrong in a. 138 years, somebody prays.
-
In 38 years somebody made some sacrifices, somebody gave,
-
somebody volunteered. Because we are not perfect.
-
The Lord still knocks on our. Door.
-
Isn't that good news people sometimes like?
-
To use World. Wisdom in church problems but
-
the church is not a bank, church is not a university, church is
-
not a pop and mop store the church is about Jesus to get the
-
witness here the church is about Jesus in these 138 years,
-
pastors have. Come and gone, but rock.
-
Hill seal stands in under 38 years.
-
Deacons have. Come and gone.
-
But Rock Hill seal stands. Grandma and grandpa were good
-
church members, but grandma and grandpa are gone.
-
But this church still stands. Praise the Lord.
-
Our nation went through World War One and World War 2 and
-
Korean War and Vietnam War. But Rock Hill still stands.
-
The church is here to stay. You know good news.
-
The church is here to stay. The church has outlived the.
-
Roman Empire. Church has outlasted presidents
-
and kings and Queens. Church has outlasted prime
-
ministers. You can, you can.
-
You can't kill the church. I said I'm glad you can't kill
-
the church. You see, Christ died for the
-
church, sister after the pie. Jesus said upon this rock I will
-
build my church. I will build my church, and
-
against of hell shall not prevail.
-
Against my church. If you think you are so
-
important the church can't can't do without you, you has died.
-
If you think you're so important you has died.
-
We have good fume the church will move on.
-
You know, good news Church is here to say he just stealing
-
freaks. He still knocks on our doors
-
after Jesus should not have to knock on the door of his church,
-
Amen. When I go back to my house, I
-
don't have to knock on my door because I got a key, Amen.
-
But he says, he said I knock on the door.
-
Knock on the door is a signal that somebody wants to enter
-
your room and your private space.
-
The knock on the door is a business courtesy, seeking your
-
permission. Enter your private quarters.
-
In the book. Of revelation you just through
-
John writes to seven churches of Asian the church and let us see
-
him you just says I stand at the door and knock in the good news.
-
I'm sad at the door and praise the Lord.
-
What does this text mean? Praise the Lord.
-
Amen. This text means.
-
That God is alive in the world. Praise the Lord, what does it
-
mean in the first place? You will you see the?
-
You may. Ask Well, since the Church
-
belongs to the Lord, why does he have to knock on the door?
-
Well, because he's patient. I'm so glad the Lord is patient
-
Well, because the Lord wants to us to freely accept him.
-
The Lord does not want us to be puppets and he don't put a gun
-
down the head first to accept him.
-
The Lord wants us to and freely accept Him except because He's
-
the. Lord, He's the Lord all by
-
himself, if that means no help. He's the Lord all by himself
-
become to him in love and in freedom.
-
Not only does Jesus stand at the door and knock, he keeps on
-
knocking. Yes, it's also that stands at
-
the door of our lives. He's the one sister to to
-
thought I would have a wicked ways.
-
You ought to you ought to stop crossing sometime.
-
You ought to stop sinning sometime.
-
You ought to praise the Lord every now and then.
-
You've been to church 203040 years.
-
You ought to be a little better. You ought to be a little.
-
Better. And used to be.
-
Christ is alive and well. Aren't you glad he's alive and
-
well? He stands there door and knocks
-
on our lives. Yes it does.
-
He wants us to receive our salvation.
-
He wants to lift our spirits. Amen.
-
Sometime the wig gets. Dark.
-
But Lord tells. Us to hold on, hold on a little
-
while longer. I.
-
Tell you that night might be long.
-
But morning going to come. I know, morning.
-
Is going to come, he said, said the text.
-
I stand the door. No, no, the news is that Jesus
-
does not come to the church and leave.
-
He stands there. He keeps on knocking.
-
He keeps on politely knocking. He knocks on your door.
-
He knocks on my door. He knocks on the neighbor's
-
door. God is patient.
-
I'm so glad we share the God who is patient.
-
I'm glad I'm not the Lord God be messing up if I was the Lord,
-
but God is good. You and I go to somebody's house
-
and and and and and not two or three times and nobody shows up
-
your property leave the house, but you just stays there and
-
keeps on knocking. Aren't you glad it keeps on
-
knocking? What a second lesson is the Lord
-
does not give up on us. Jesus does not knock, does not
-
give up on us. He does not look at us.
-
And he said where you're dead about nothing, so you ain't
-
going to be nothing. He doesn't say that.
-
He doesn't say you were born on the wrong side of the tracks.
-
Jesus loves everybody, OK? Who you are, how poor you are,
-
where you came. From.
-
The Lord. Still love you.
-
In that good news, he knows our name.
-
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord.
-
Yes, Jesus is not concerned with the the circumstances of our
-
birth. He does not push us aside
-
because we used to be weakened. All of us messed up somewhere.
-
All of us. Sin to say.
-
About Grace. For the Lord.
-
Still loves us. He's still knocking.
-
At our door. He stands there.
-
And keeps on knocking. I'm so glad, so glad he keeps on
-
knocking. Praise the Lord, praise the
-
Lord. I said praise the Lord.
-
Is it all right? While church folk outside trying
-
to abate the situation, you just sit at the outside knocking on
-
the door saying let me in. You got confusion.
-
Let me in. You want to solve your problem.
-
Let me in let. Me in.
-
Let me in. If you wonder.
-
Why more people don't join the church where I let Jesus in?
-
He'll tell. US.
-
How to get people in the church? Praise the Lord, he said.
-
Be my witnesses in. Jerusalem, be my witness in
-
Judea. St.
-
Marya. And all parts of the world the
-
Bible is not not. Trying to the.
-
Piano and our own understanding because I thank people, church
-
people sit back and look at the situation of the church, sit
-
downstairs. I know how to solve this.
-
But you see, I I've been to school with him, I've been
-
taught this and I've been taught that.
-
But the Lord said Lord, let. Me end.
-
It's my church. Let me end praise the Lord.
-
Well, we also need to bring the Lord in our conversation.
-
Holy Spirit is trying to tell us to move.
-
On. Earth, the problems can't be
-
solved. Stop and have a word of prayer.
-
I send the church somebody to pray.
-
Somebody to praise? Lord.
-
Help us along the way. Somebody to pray.
-
Lord, give us no wisdom. Somebody to pray.
-
Oh Lord, help us. Help us.
-
Along the way. Praise the Lord in your right,
-
in the all right, in the all right.
-
Jesus still knocking at our door, He says.
-
Here you got to hear my boss, hear my boss praise the Lord
-
when somebody knock. On your.
-
Door at night. You said who is it?
-
Who is it? You can recognize the boss, so
-
come on in. You got to.
-
Recognize. The voice of Jesus.
-
Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord.
-
If you pray, you recognize His voice.
-
Read the Bible. You.
-
Recognize the voice. Sometimes.
-
Sometimes. The devil knocks on your door.
-
Don't let him in. Tell the devil, get out of my
-
way, get out of my way, get out of my way.
-
Praise the Lord. Sometimes the false.
-
Prophets not on the. Door, but tell the false
-
prophet. Got in the way.
-
I'm on my way. I'm on my way to Cana's land.
-
You don't go. Don't hinder me.
-
I'm on my way. I'm on my way.
-
Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.
-
Praise the Lord. I don't know.
-
Let me in, Let me in. I.
-
Talk with you. Let me in.
-
I eat with you. Let me in.
-
I went with you. Praise the Lord, Praise the
-
Lord. Thank you, Lord.
-
I'm so glad. I'm so glad Jesus knock on my
-
door. To the Jesus, knock on your
-
door. I'm glad he knocked on my door
-
and I was not fit to live. When rare to die, He knocked on
-
my door. Praise the Lord.
-
This joy, this joy I have. The world didn't give it to me.
-
This joy, this joy, this joy I have.
-
The Lord gave it to me. Give me all right, Thank you,
-
Thank you. Happening.
-
So thank you, thank you, thank you.
-
I feel like going on. Anybody here feel like going on?
-
Aren't you glad? Aren't you glad Jesus knocked on
-
your door? Aren't you glad you got hope for
-
tomorrow? Aren't you glad Jesus died on
-
the cavern? He died.
-
He died for you and me. Praise the Lord, brother.
-
Sunday morning He got up, got up, got up, got up, got up, got
-
up, got up. Power Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
-
Hallelujah, Hallelujah. That's.
-
All right, he got up with all power.
-
My Mama, my Mama, I'm telling you, honey, put your hands
-
together for the word of God and God's manservant, Dr. Gorman.
-
I'm telling you, I, I love it. I love it.
-
We have appreciation for all styles and and ways of, of the
-
word coming for and I'm telling all depth of levels as well.
-
That's just beautiful. He says.
-
Behold, I stand at the door and knock.
-
Let me come on there, he said. I'm glad he came in in my life.
-
That's all right, Doctor. That's all right.
-
Yes, Sir. I ain't going to lie.
-
I'm going to be over like that and still have fire.
-
You better preach. Go ahead.
-
I love it. Y'all put your hands together
-
one more time for Doctor Corbin not to bless my whole life.
-
I'm telling you, listen, you may not know Jesus and the free
-
pardon of your sin and I would ask that you would not close the
-
board, not close the door, but open the door and let him come
-
in. I believe today's a good day to
-
accept Jesus into your heart and into your life.
-
All you have to do is pray this short prayer and repeat after me
-
and says Lord Jesus come into my heart, save me.
-
I want to be saved. Lord Jesus, thank you for dying
-
on the cross for me. Lord Jesus, thank you for rising
-
out of the grave for me. Lord Jesus, thank you for soon
-
coming again for me. In Jesus name, Amen.
-
Let's put our hands together, believing by faith that somebody
-
just received Jesus into the heart.
