And in every way that Lord, there are weaknesses in
-
our lives, You will turn these weaknesses to strength for us.
-
In the name of Jesus Father, we are grateful. Thank you,
-
Holy Spirit. In Jesus' mighty name. We pray you're welcome
-
to church. In Jesus' name. This morning, I like to
-
discuss a matter that is to a great extent, very uncommon,
-
something that in most times you don't hear it discussed,
-
but there is need for us to talk about it,
-
and talking about it we help us as Christians to
-
be able to live our lives in a way that
-
is pleasant to God. And what I want to talk
-
about this money is all so related to our theme
-
for the year twenty twenty five, and particularly this discussion
-
was initiated by the Youth Fellowship of the Church. But
-
after considering the discussion, I felt the need that we
-
should bring it to the whole house and not just
-
at the youth fellowship level, because it is something that
-
is very important and I would like that every one
-
of us pay very important attention. Why is it so
-
difficult today as Christians? I don't know how many of
-
us can see what is written on the screen here,
-
can we all see it. I know those I decide
-
my difficulties in seeing it. But I believe that someone
-
God is going to touch the heart of someone very soon,
-
and we expand our media center by the grace of
-
God in Jesus' name. But I just want to speak
-
on what I call enlargement through Gospel conversations. Enlargement through
-
gospel conversations. I know the topic is does it sound
-
familiar to anybody's confusing? Abby? Lock? Nice? Is it confusing?
-
Is cleared? Okay? I want everybody to follow me. I'll
-
just mention a few things and then challenge us and
-
we go Enlargement through Gospel conversations. The youth had invited
-
me to handle evangelism a teaching on evangelism, so I
-
saw the need that we should bring it to the
-
whole house and talk about it. But let me begin
-
from this. Why is it that it is difficult for
-
many of us to engage in gospel conversations. Part of
-
the reason why this may be is that there is
-
fear of rejection. A lot of us worry that people
-
will mock us, people ignore us, people will reject us.
-
Sometimes fear of damaging the relationships that we have with
-
our friends and neighborhoods and people we tagous to be
-
too religious. So because of that, we don't talk about
-
the gospel. For some of us, it is lack of confidence.
-
We feel we don't know enough about the Bible or
-
how to answer tough questions. Sometimes we are not sure
-
about how to start gospel conversations, how to start evangelism,
-
how to talk about Jesus. Sometimes there's fear of persecution,
-
especially in Anigeria today. In fact, we know that in
-
some places evangelism can lead to hostility, discrimination or even
-
legal consequences. You can be charged to court for evangelizing
-
Christ in some places. About misunderstanding of evangelism, some of
-
us have this understanding that evangelism is only for pastors
-
and specially trained missionaries. Others think their lifestyle alone is
-
enough without weber proclamation. Yes, it is good that your lifeties.
-
You know, we say something, but beyond that we can
-
do some more. Sometimes some of us feel we are
-
spiritually not prepared. Sometimes we are too busy. We're too busy.
-
So many of us we are consumed with work, with school,
-
with personal matters, and we don't even prioritize evangelism, and
-
we don't even bother about whether it is urgent or not.
-
Some believe it is not their gift. Some are afraid
-
of difficult questions. Then some of us we enjoy the
-
comfort of Christian circles. We spend most of our time
-
with fellow believers and don't interact much with unbelievers, so
-
we are comfortable. Sometimes it's because of lack of trading strategy.
-
Maybe there's no training given to anybody. So because there's
-
no training and we can go out, sometimes some of
-
us feel that others should do it now, after all,
-
we have evangelism and Mission Committee, right, they should go
-
and do it. Some it is doubt about the effectiveness
-
of evangelism. If I go out and evangelize, what will
-
they bring? And so many other reasons, so many others
-
like that. You know, a lot of people are afraid
-
of engaging in evangelism, But are their benefits for evangelism
-
When you evangelize. Part of the benefits is the fact
-
that you're being God's commands as given to us. In
-
the Book of Matthew twenty eight nineteen and twenty, Jesus
-
commanded believers to evangelize in that place go and make
-
disciples of all nations. So sharing the gospel is an
-
act of faithfulness to God's mission. Another benefit is that
-
we bring people to salvation. When you evangelize, there is
-
spiritual growth and boldness all right. When you evangelize, there
-
is closure worked with God. When you evangelize, there is
-
kingdom expansion. When you evangelize, you overcome fear and insecurity.
-
The reason why you cannot do it, and beyond that
-
is eternal reworld for few mens of God's purpose. What
-
will happen if we don't evangelize. If you don't evangelize,
-
you are disobedient to the message of the Cross. You
-
are ignoring evangelism. It means you are disregarding the great commission.
-
When we don't evangelize, souls are lost. And you know what,
-
According to EE Chapter three, eighteen and nineteen, you are
-
responsible for that soul that you have not spoken to
-
about your lifestyle. If you don't evangelize, the church will
-
continue to be empty. When you don't evangelize, it will
-
make church to remain stagnant, and church will continue to
-
decline Without new believers, Church becomes spiritually weak and inactive.
-
If we don't evangelize, there is spiritual weakness, and we
-
are going to lose our heavenly rewords. If we don't evangelize,
-
we're going to miss a lot of miracles, and we
-
are going to be fairly to expand the Kingdom of God,
-
and we risk becoming lookwarm. Where you evangelize, evangelism keeps
-
believers spiritually active and passionate. Let me speak from our
-
text for the year twenty twenty five. Is that chapter
-
fifty four, Verse two, Verses two and three. He says,
-
enlarge the place of your tent, stretch out your tent
-
curtaons wide, do not hold back, lengthen your cords, strengthen
-
your stakes. For you will spread out to the right
-
and to the left. Your descendants will dispossessed nations and
-
settle in their desolate places. So let's look at that
-
verse two again. He says, enlarge the place of your tent.
-
Stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back, lengthy
-
your cards, strengthen your stakes. If you look at this
-
that text, we want to use it to understand enlargement
-
in evangelism. What does enlargement in evangelism actually means? Number one.
-
In that text, the Bible says, enlarge the place of
-
your tents. What does that mean? It means that we
-
should expand our rich. You know, we're saying that we're
-
enlargement spiritual, emotional, relational, and physical. Enlargement is all encompassing.
-
And I've said that that enlargements, as far as this
-
text is concerned, is a command. And that is the
-
same way the reason why we want to apply it
-
in the area of evangelism. So when the Bible says
-
enlarge the place of your tents, it means expand your rich.
-
You are sitting down for too long. It is time
-
for you to breakfast. So evangelisine means stepping out beyond
-
familiar secus. And that's what at chapter one, verse eight say.
-
You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you,
-
and you will be my witnesses. Right how we're first
-
in Jerusalem, right in Judea, in Samaria, and then to
-
the uttermost part of the world. So let's read our
-
community into it, so we'll be its witnesses. Where in
-
Tasha right where next in Guagua, eh in Abuja Abbi,
-
and in Nigeria and to the entire part of the
-
world we're going to be is represents. So what are
-
the ways that we can expand regarding this verse? Personal evangelism,
-
sharing one on one, community outreach, helping others, and then
-
we have mission work. Number two, the Bible says, stretch
-
your tent courtons wide. Stretch your tent cottons wide. What
-
does that mean making room for new believers when you
-
up with your tent cotton Eh, What you're saying is
-
that there is room for more people to come in
-
this room, for more people to come in. So the
-
church must be ready to receive new comforts. Are we ready?
-
She lovebouptist church? Is she look aboutist church? Ready for
-
new converts? Are we ready for new converts? Discipleship sustained
-
spiritual growth. And that's the instruction that Jesus actually gave
-
in Matthew twenty twenty, Go and make disciples of all nations.
-
So if you're not discipled, it is not about coming
-
to statadings on boogle. The discipleship is beyond that. It
-
goes beyond that. Number three, the Bible says, do not
-
hold back. What that means is that you need boldness
-
in evangelisine because when you are afraid you are holding back,
-
But the Bible says, do not hold back, don't be afraid.
-
What that means is boldness in evangelisine. Yeah, in that's evangelisine.
-
We must boldly share our ef faith like Paul, even
-
in challenges, especially at a time like this in our nation, Nigeria.
-
Nigeria needs Christ whether we like it or not. And
-
if Christ is not there, there's going to be crisis.
-
And that's why we have all of this crisis. We
-
have responsibility. How can you overcome fier in evangelism? You
-
pray for courage, you prepare with scriptures and share personal testimonies.
-
We're going to look at some practical things that we
-
need to do, but we're just looking at that text
-
number four. The Bible says, lengthen your cards. So you
-
have some cable or some cards that you have used
-
to tie your tents. But now the Bible saying lengthen them,
-
remove them from where they are, stretch them. What that
-
means is that using diverse evangelism methods. All right. The
-
reason why many of us don't do ever jealousine is
-
because you know, the only one that we know is
-
the one that will carry our Bible like this, eh,
-
and then we say, everybody, let's come together. There is evangelasine,
-
if I say there's evangelism today like this. Now, once
-
we step out of this place, you know, now that
-
you're in church, there's no way you can escape. But
-
once I say, oh, everybody, let's go out, follow me. Eh.
-
That's why you see, some people will remove their phone
-
from their pocket. They will receive some messages from the devil.
-
Say somebody is calling me, somebody is calling me, I
-
need to be somewhere or gently, and then they will leave.
-
They're going to see the person that is calling them,
-
whether the person is calling them or not. But I
-
know is the devil that will just be calling when
-
you're going out for evangelism. And then some people will
-
say you see, you see, and they will find more
-
easy and they'll just escape. Yeah. But we have different people,
-
I mean different ways of evangelizing because different people respond
-
to different approaches. There's one on one witnessing. There is
-
opening air evangelism, there is social media evangelism, and there
-
is acts of kindness leading to gospel conversation. And the
-
other one I'm not putting here is prayer evangelism. Prayer, evangelism,
-
and I think the easiest one. This week, each time
-
I was going out, I was asking God. I said, God,
-
please get me ready. Get me ready as I want
-
to go out. Now, help me to see opportunity for
-
me to tell somebody about Christ type people that are
-
sleeping by your side. This message is not boring. It's
-
one of the most important messages of the Kingdom of God.
-
If you're sleeping, wake up so that I don't behave
-
like people in the Act of Apostles that people thought
-
they were drinking. That's why they weare, you know, talking
-
anyhow in the morning. It is too early. This is
-
just this is just a few minutes after ten. It
-
is too early to sleep. If today were to be
-
working this, you won't sleep. You will display your market
-
and you will go to work. So let's listen to
-
the world of God. Number five that will see in
-
that text, the Bible says strengthy your stakes, and what
-
does that mean is to lay a firm foundation, which
-
is what we're doing today. This is part of what
-
we're doing today. Evangelism without discipleship leads to weak converts,
-
and that's exactly what happens in the church. Because most
-
times in the church a lot of people are converts.
-
But Jesus did not say we should go and make converts.
-
Jesus out ever, says we should go and make disciples.
-
It is disciples that we must make. If you have
-
convert in the church. That's why if you are saying
-
we are going on evan journisis it's only a convert
-
that will disappear. Disciples will not. Disciples will not. So
-
think it where are you? Are you a disciple or
-
you're a convert? The church must teach new believers the
-
basic faith, help them to develop prayer life, connect them
-
with maturementors. That's exactly what we do in discipleship. That's
-
all that That's everything that we do in discipleship. That's
-
all we do in discipleship. So what are the requirements
-
for gospel conversations? Let's know for it. Number one, understand
-
the gospel message. This is where the major problem is.
-
Many of us don't understand the gospel message. Now, if
-
you don't understand the gospel message, it is difficult for
-
you to go for that evangelism. What exactly is the
-
gospel message about? You are talking about God's love as
-
we see in John three sixteen you are saying sin
-
and its consequence, and that's what we see Romance three
-
twenty three. For all, I've seen everyone, all right, And
-
then Romans six twenty three, the Bible says the wages
-
of sin is what is dead. So we are talking
-
about sin and the result of sin. Okay, God has
-
love for everyone. Everyone has seen, and the result of
-
sin is dead. Then Jesus is the only way to
-
receive it an life because in six twenty three we
-
say the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ.
-
So Jesus Christ is the only way because in John
-
fourteen six he says, I am the Way, the true
-
and the life. No one comes to the Father except
-
by me. But again we understand, the salvation that we
-
have in Jesus Christ is by grace. Is it is
-
by grace through faith. It is not by work, all right,
-
not by what you have done. But Jesus has actually
-
finished everything for us. And that's what efficients Chapter two
-
eight and I it is by faith. It is by grace.
-
You have been saved through faith, and not of yourself.
-
It is not by what you have done, all right?
-
And then what do you need to do the final
-
thing you need to do that person. You need to
-
get the person to confess and make commitments. That's what romance.
-
If you confess with your mouth and believe in your
-
heart that Jesus is Lord. That's all about gospel message
-
that God loves the world. But humanity singed and they
-
are doomed to die. But there is a way that
-
is found in Jesus Christ. And that way is only
-
by salvation by grace through faith in Christ Jesus. But
-
how do you obtain it? By confessing with your mouth
-
and believing in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord.
-
Types of evangelism quickly they have mentioned this, so personal evangelism,
-
lifestyle evangelism, crusade and open air evangelism, and friendship evangelism.
-
So all of these ones, which one of them are
-
we doing? I didn't add the one of prayer? There?
-
Which one of them are we doing? Who is doing
-
any one of these ones? On one? Evangelism? Who's involved
-
in it? Lifestyle evangelism, individuals? Hello, church is anybody is
-
anybody's heart? I sense in my spirit that some heart
-
as shaky by what I'm saying. You're feeling guilty one
-
and then you are freed. You're afraid, Let me give
-
you an ex share and experience that happened just last night.
-
We went out last night and then we met a
-
group of brothers. They were yours celebrating. They were celebrating,
-
and you know in this are community, when people are celebrating,
-
you know how they celebrate. And by way the way
-
they were celebrating that yesterday the place we went to,
-
I stepped out of the place after we visited the person,
-
and then I was about going. Earlier on in the week,
-
I've been praying, Lord, give me an opportunity for somehow
-
I sense the only spirit you just say, go back
-
and you just pray. So I went and I greeted
-
all of them. After I greeted all of them and
-
I told them they'll spray. In my prayer, I thank
-
God for all of them. In my prayer, I said, God,
-
with direct their future, and I say, Lord, by your messy,
-
by that death of Christ on the cross of cavalry
-
that is in my prayer, open your eyes, open your heart,
-
let them see Christ as a lord of their lives.
-
Those were content of my prayer and I left it.
-
Who does not like prayer. And by the way, they
-
even ask that I should come and pray for them,
-
and I saw that as an opportunity in that prayer
-
to say something to God about your souls. There is
-
friendship evangelism. Friendship evangelism can be very useful, but sometimes
-
once you have become so used to the person, you
-
find it difficult. And that's the problem that many of
-
us are facing. It becomes difficult for you to talk
-
to the person about Christ. So how do we start
-
gospel conversation? So one of the biggest challenges in evangelism
-
is starting the conversation. All right, how do we start
-
the conversation? We can use everyday situation. Now, it is
-
important that we are sensitive. All right. Now, let me
-
say this from outset. One of the reasons again why
-
we are afraid in the place of envy jealousy, it's
-
because what if the person does not say yes, how
-
do I tell the person to accept Jesus Christ. You
-
don't need to be afraid. We should give opportunity for
-
that person to make commitments. You understand. But if for
-
any reason, If for any reason, I was in a
-
cab one day coming from from area one to life
-
cam coming from Area one to Life Cam. So we
-
follow the Express. As soon as we climb the Express.
-
As soon as we climb the Express, the taxi driver.
-
The taxi driver started, you know, talking to everybody inside
-
the vehicle, and I was just praying in my heart.
-
I said, Lord, thank you, Please, Lord, let some soul
-
get this understanding and let their lives be touched in
-
the name of Jesus. The driver himself, it was the
-
one preaching. I said, Lord, thank you. Until we got
-
we almost go to Life came and I've said it
-
that for those of us are in that kind of business,
-
there's a way you can even do it. Just plug Bible,
-
the Book of John and Book of Romance. That's the
-
only thing you should have in your in your car.
-
Just plug it. Just instead of lending olulu look, just
-
leave eh. Let the Bible be reading. Eh. I'm not
-
saying there's nothing, there's anything wrong with mblene. It's good
-
because it gives us information about what is happening around us.
-
But excuse me, God can bless your life with souls
-
in the Kingdom of God. Just give that thing volume
-
and let the Bible be reading. You don't need to
-
see anything one day, somebody is going to approach you.
-
Bro that thing I was reading that that was coming
-
from Dad. You'll read you where did you get it?
-
It sounds like something that's when your only spirit begins
-
to walk in the life. You don't need to say anything.
-
Are you afraid? It is your car? Nobody is going
-
to say, why are you playing that thing? Just give
-
it a little volume, you understand. But where we get
-
it wrong is that, oh, everybody started discussing. They're discussing,
-
and that we kill the entire thing. But as soon
-
as the car moves turn on that thing, everybody will
-
calm down. Nobody will say anything inside the car. Till
-
you get to the place where you are. You don't
-
need to say anything. You just be playing in your
-
heart and be saying, Holy Spirit, have your will, Only Spirit,
-
have your will. Look at it. I've met somebody and
-
you say, ah, it is your day. I know this
-
is a little tough. It's a little tough, but this
-
can happen even where you have colleagues in the office.
-
How are you doing? What's up? I've been praying for
-
people around me. Is there anything I can pray for
-
you about? Excuse me, It doesn't like prayer. Is there
-
anything I can pray about for you? You know what
-
you are going to put in the content of that prayer, Say,
-
why not please pray for me. I need job, Please
-
pray for me. I need this, Please pray for me.
-
And then you pray for the person and that is
-
all and you go. You're not carrying bible? Now? Are
-
you carrying bible? No, you're not carrying bible because carrying
-
Bible alone wants to see you. They will tell you
-
they are busy. Please don't disturb me about current events.
-
These are hard at difficult times. Do you think about
-
spiritual things, about show showing care and kindness, help someone
-
in need. Then use the opportunity to share the gospel.
-
Somebody has asked you for food, and you give the
-
person food. Do you remember the conversation of Jesus without
-
Samritian woman? How did Jesus start? How did Jesus start? Eh?
-
Give me water cow worlds rua bannie rua eh if
-
And I go to carasana now and I'm just working
-
and ah and I sit down somewhere with maker no
-
and I say, eh, mama, bunny co signing, go and
-
say it's signing all right, then I sit down and
-
I will just take the con and as i'm I
-
can begin my conversation. How is your family, madam? How's
-
this one? How's the business? And all of these ones?
-
I know where I am going, and by the power
-
of your this spirit, your spirit to be guiding me
-
on what to say so that we're not missing. And
-
before you know it, I don't need to say you know,
-
are you ready to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord
-
saved you? No, I don't need to say that. All
-
I'm going to say is that you see this con
-
that you have given to me. Eh, it is the thing.
-
Don't cool my body way away, madam? But you know
-
say and now so all of us we don't tire
-
of life. But you get percy. Wait if you give peers,
-
one thing will be saying. If he gives you and
-
now sow your life, go there at peace? She go there? Listen,
-
Are you know that person? Jesus God bless you, madam,
-
Thank you very much, and then you work her? Did
-
you you stop that person? All of these things would
-
have happened in how many minutes, eh, maybe less than
-
five minutes. And I'll carry my canot drink and drop
-
the the gong and go. It is done right, It
-
is done asking thought provoking questions. This is another way
-
we can do it. A question like do you believe
-
in life after death? You see questions like this. Maybe
-
one other time we can spend more time on this.
-
The point is, once you ask some bo do you
-
believe in afterlife? Let them talk? You're not you want
-
to talk? You are not you want to talk doing
-
your talk. Everything that you are going to be asking
-
is going to be questioned from just listening attentively. And
-
if you are listening, you ask the only spirit to
-
teach you from one question to another, from question to
-
another question, from question to At the end of the day,
-
do you do you know that kind of conversation. That's
-
the way lawyers do. Eh, that's how lawyers do. And
-
even please, they want to interrogate you from everything you
-
have said. They will ask you a questions from everything
-
you have said. They will ask you questions from everything
-
you have said. Again, in your response, you're asking you
-
a question. At the end of the day, your eyes
-
will be clear that you have actually committed your friends.
-
Then there is need for solution. So what's not your solution,
-
which is what you you are ready to present. So life,
-
what do you think is the purpose of life? Many
-
people may not be able to answer that question. What
-
do you think is the purpose of life? Can I
-
ask somebody in the house this money? What do you
-
think is the purpose of your life? Until you know
-
the purpose of your life, there is no direction for
-
that life. You are just going to live like every
-
other person. Another one is if you die today, are
-
you sure you will go to eaven? So many things
-
are there? Does the person you won't believe in even?
-
But you have put together your own belief The person
-
may answer you and tell you I don't believe there's ever.
-
Then the question will be why don't you think there's even?
-
The person will give you the reason, and from that
-
reason you begin to That is conversation. You just talk.
-
It's as if you're just having ordinary conversation. But I
-
can tell you that your only spirit is walking behind
-
the scene. We must change our tactics. Sharing your testimony,
-
all right? This is another one that is very interesting.
-
How many of us can share our testimony? How many
-
of us can share our testimony? What are you saying
-
in your testimony? You have to keep it short, make
-
it clear, and make it relatable. Your life before Christ,
-
how you met Christ, How has your life changed? Simple?
-
That's everything you're just going to say in your testimony.
-
And once you're done with that, you don't using There's
-
what we call romance road. Romance road. I want them
-
to do a teaching on this sometime lasted. Maybe I
-
can bring a full teaching on this one. It's a
-
way that we can. You see all this some I
-
mean Romance three twenty three, six twenty three, Romance five eight,
-
Romance eight nineteen. Everything is just there. That's all that
-
you need. Step by step. This one tells you all
-
I've seen. This one tells you sin this to death,
-
but there is offer in God. Then this one says
-
Christ die for us. And this one say you can
-
confess and believe in Christ, and then you finish. That's
-
all about the gospel. That's all about the gospel. Offering
-
a response opportunity. That's another. Would you like to know
-
Jesus personality if somebody wants to this just the waist.
-
This is just the ways, all right. The other part
-
is follow up and discipleship. And discipleship. God Christ has
-
commanded every one of us to disciple others. But today
-
part of what we're doing is to leave discipleship for
-
some people. No, you have to disciple. You have to
-
disciple is each one of us. We have that responsibility
-
to disciple others. So encourage church involvement. Since daily devotion
-
and mentorship, that's what we see in that and follow up?
-
So what are they practical steps to evangelistic enlargement? All right?
-
Personal commitment? Are you committed to this assignment? God has
-
committed as giving us a command, you have to be
-
committed to it, whether on a personal basis or in church.
-
Very soon the church will be organizing some some outreach
-
program and I want to believe that everyone of us
-
will show up, right, I want to believe that everyone
-
of us will show up. Don't worry. Come and see
-
it now, and you don't even need to see anything.
-
You just stay. If we say twol of you should
-
go out and you just stay, let's be with the
-
person that can talk. You just stay and be praying
-
for that person. You understand, that's what you can do.
-
You just be praying for that person. Eh. There are
-
so many opportunities for us listen, if we don't do this.
-
If you don't do this, we're only endangering our own lives.
-
You see, those people that don't know Jesus, they will
-
become a ton in the flo for you, and they
-
will bid you, want to destroy you. Why not show
-
them Christ? Let Christ reign in their hearts. When Christ
-
is raining in their hearts, you know what will happen.
-
We are going to be on the same side. Is
-
that also all of us will be on the same side.
-
Nobody will come and attack us at night. The solution
-
to the problem of our community is in the hand
-
of each of us as we are here. In one
-
of our discipleship programs, there's what we call five and
-
five plans, and follow the Master five and five plans.
-
The five and five plans are five people. You're going
-
to write the names of five people that you can
-
speak to. You write the names of five other people
-
that you can pray for. You cannot you cannot speak
-
with them. Maybe that's your guy in the office and
-
you feel that you cannot approach the person with the
-
gospel message. What are you going to do? Deperson on
-
the list of prayer and continue to pray for that person.
-
Imagine each one of us That was the reason why
-
in our Sunday school, I said we should pray for
-
one Muslim. Imagine all of those souls that you have
-
prayed for this morning tomorrow again you commit their lives
-
into the ends of God, and every day of this
-
week you keep praying for God. You are not You
-
won't going physically to go and talk to them. No,
-
but the only spirit is preparing because you are continually
-
seeking the face of God concerning then it may not
-
even appone in the year twenty twenty five, but God
-
will continue to guide their lives because of your prayer,
-
so that one day this person will surrender to Jesus Christ.
-
We have responsibilities and there are so many ways that
-
we can do that. So let me briefly talk about
-
this and then we wrap it up here using modern
-
tools social media and digital evangelism, radio and podcasts, acts
-
of kindness. Let me just talk about social media tools.
-
Then I will close many of us what we do
-
with our WhatsApp. There's something I don't like. Don't bog
-
my life with a devotional every day. I don't like it.
-
I don't like it because I may not read it.
-
The only thing I like is send me short prayer
-
point and I'll say amen and then we go. That's
-
why I send prayer short prayer points sometimes. All right,
-
but there is there is the status y H on
-
our worsapp. Just put on that status Jesus lost. You
-
can you share your testimony in four lines, your salvation
-
testimony in four lines and put it on that your
-
status and leave it there. Thousands of people may see
-
that status on that day and you will know where
-
the only spirit is beginning to do something in the
-
life of that person. How about our Facebook? Yes, Facebook
-
is a social media platform, but you said nobody is
-
going to what did you learn from Sunday's School? Can
-
you share the same thing that you have learned in
-
Sunday School on that platform and keep it there. Just
-
recent me, there were so many things that I used
-
to put on my Facebook wall back in the days,
-
and recently I've not been doing it. And you know
-
what Facebook we do. Facebook is now reminding me that
-
you did this, and I said, ah, wow, this is powerful.
-
So I will share it again. And it seems as
-
if the thing is even ministering to me, so I
-
will share it again. Is anybody coming to attack me?
-
Am I going to see anybody face to face to
-
say that that person. You may not be able to
-
see the person at all, but that means we go round.
-
Please church. There are so many. It is a lot
-
easier for us today. It is a lot easier for
-
us today. It is a lot easier for us today
-
to do evangelism. The ones we can do. The church
-
is planning. There was one I wanted to do and
-
I'm still trusting God that will be able to do it.
-
Last year we planned it, but it didn't work. I
-
wanted to get a massive projector and put it here
-
in front of the church and put and beam a
-
big film in the evening when people will be working.
-
You know they will stay abby, they wait and watch,
-
and at the end of it, while they are doing that,
-
the prayer team will be inside the church and the
-
praying and be praying. Because there's something about evangelism. Prayer
-
is very important. The prayer team will be inside the
-
church and be praying. Why myself, the mm chairman, the
-
wm U president, the youth president, we are going to
-
be the face of the church. We are going to
-
be there while others are watching. All the key officers,
-
they can be dead the rest, be praying inside the church.
-
People are watching, people are watching day. When they are done,
-
we will gain the power and bring out the message
-
of that movie they're watching. And we ask them the
-
opportunity is there they can enjoy the peace the only
-
Jesus can chieve. And we give them a call. We
-
give them opportunity, and we have some of us that
-
are going to stand by as counselors. We are going
-
to hand them some materials. Can write down your name,
-
write down your phone number, and will continue to pray
-
for them. We can give them calls about their decision.
-
And the Kingdom of God is enlarging. Twenty twenty five
-
is our year of enlargement. We must enlarge in our
-
area of evangelism. That God help us in the name
-
of Jesus Christ. Can I give room for one or
-
two questions? Praise the Lord.
-
So you start by telling us that there are some
-
places that if you go evangelizing, you might.
-
Be sue to court for evangelizing. Is he here in
-
Nigeria or abroad?
-
So much?
-
Not so much of it in Nigeria, but in some
-
kind of way it does happen, But you're not sue too.
-
Curt In Nigeria. It may not be in the open
-
all right, but somehow something close to it is happening.
-
Even in Nigeria. There are some places in Nigeria that
-
you cannot confidently approach. Even here in Abuja, there's some
-
places you cannot just enter with the ghospel message unless yeah,
-
you're probably saying, this world is not my own. I
-
am just passing. And then you'll be passing by as
-
you're telling them about Jesus and you're just passing by,
-
and then they will send they will send the cops out.
-
I'll go and carry it and bury it.
-
HM.
-
But you're not key yourself because of this. There are
-
other ways you can do it. I know. I can
-
enter a place I was. I was going to pick
-
the children at Sabury when they way attending school day.
-
As I got inside the k somehow I just felt
-
the leading of the spirit that the woman sitting by
-
my side that should pray for her. And she received
-
a call and from the conversation there's somebody that was
-
sick in the hospital and that was just the business
-
of my prayer point that God will open our eyes
-
and touting the life of that person. Also healed the person.
-
Of course I didn't get any any feedback whether the
-
person was healed or anything happened to that person, But
-
that's not my own I just felt that leading and
-
I did, and I pray for the person, and when
-
I got to my place, I went my will. The
-
person went away. I'm sure that God will complete what
-
he had started. That's just my own part. There are
-
so many things about this this kingdom. Eh, go and
-
make disciples. You you just go and make disciples. Finish.
-
Whether the disciples come or not, it is not your
-
problem because the work of conversion is not your own
-
to do. There are places that you cannot just confidently enter.
-
But mister patrick in that's your business, even if they
-
will start. The biggest in man, we enter that your
-
car and you put on that Bible that's yours. Only
-
it doesn't have the right to stop you. Do you
-
know that it doesn't have the right. You will just listen.
-
You will be forced to listen. And that deputs it
-
alone between where you have taken him and where you
-
have dropped him. Leave it in the hand of the
-
Holy Spirit. It will do the rest. And don't be
-
surprised that the person may just mark your face, and
-
one day it will see you again and ask you
-
that thing that you were playing inside your car? Can
-
you tell me more about it? Church? This is another
-
easiest way that you can do it. Okay, So everybody
-
wake up now, wake up, wake up, wake up. Let
-
me tell you the simplest way that you can do it.
-
Are you ready for it? And I wake up? Now?
-
See it's the simplest way you can do it. If
-
you cannot pray, it's for you to tell the person
-
go church together. Just invite the person to come to church. Eh.
-
Let the person just come to church. Finish you just
-
pray Holy Spirit lead the pastor to speak to this
-
my friend. That's all you need to do. The person
-
will sit by your side and God will meet that person.
-
Is it easy? Is it easy? Is it easy? Now? Eh?
-
Use your WhatsApp, use your Facebook, eh, pray for the person,
-
invite them to church. Which one of these folks is
-
not easy for you? Eh? Hello, mister bannerbers? Which one
-
of them is difficult? Okay? So let me see everybody now,
-
only a few of us. I don't have your number,
-
so I'm going to be waiting for I'm going to
-
look be checking my waterapp status this week. So I'm
-
going to be seeing what every member of Shilo Baptistia
-
should be doing. That's the easiest one. Missus came up.
-
Do I have your number? Okay? I think I have it?
-
Do you have water? You don't have water? You don't
-
go and get one? Because of gospel? Going start your
-
WATERP and load it with data. And so I'm going
-
to be watching uncle silay man. Are you on WATERP? Yeah?
-
Not the WSPP. I'm not sure I have it.
-
Now.
-
I want us to make commitment today, mommy, So you're
-
on waterppably a why ah? We're in twenty four centially
-
if you're not WhatsApp? Why eh? No, you have to
-
please get our water, sir, thank you very much. So
-
he said he's going to get your water. So let's
-
w I be rolling on your phone so I want
-
to be checking it. So this week I'm going to
-
be checking it. My Munaji, I don't have your phone number.
-
Are you on water? You're on water? Okay? So you
-
give me your phone number so that we know whether
-
you have you have sent message to somebody, so it's
-
on your status. I'm going to know my brother there.
-
I don't have your number, eh, my brother, Yes, I
-
know I don't have your numbers, so maybe you give
-
me your numbers so that this week tell somebody about Jesus.
-
Is it difficult on your water, bro? Is it difficult?
-
It's not difficult. Now just tell somebody about Jesus. Jesus
-
saves simple. I just put it like that. Even guys,
-
we'll we said before before they say waiting, they is
-
wrong with this, my brother, Now they'll go call you.
-
Just say when you put on top of this day
-
Jesus say you just tell them that thing. Just yan
-
smallna like that. Just give them and the thing. Don't
-
pass this thing where they want to ask you. This thing, boy,
-
if you come our church on Sunday, you don't, you
-
don't do and leave it. God will handle the rest. Amen. Amen, yes,
-
come this way.
-
God have to knew everybody. I want to say, my
-
own friend understanding. It's not a question that I want
-
to ask because this thing goeschool. You have to move
-
anything that you want to do. Your movement, you're speaking
-
anything that you want to do. Jose react like Jesus
-
and everybody will see example in you. I can remember
-
when I travel to Ugu, I want to come back
-
to Abuja. I enter Peace Transport. So under the motto
-
is food, the motto want to move and one woman
-
come with nine one boy that is looking for somebody
-
to handover to Abuja. When the woman can he look
-
the face of everybody. He checked round around. You're not
-
seeing my first examble Jesus. Yes, in not hannother day
-
picking for me, he said, Bros, I beg take the child.
-
I will give you the phone number when you reach
-
Peace Transport. For Jabe called my sister. She's living in Marabah.
-
She will come up on let's a child. And that
-
is the way I did it.
-
Yes.
-
Another one is that from my area, thea in Gaga.
-
See let me tell you. If you want to do
-
gods pool anywhere in the world, you can enter and
-
not to happen. I say it, yes, don't fear. When
-
I see a house of people GUARDI wait, those bamba
-
they are smooky, smooky and I say Alama legu. They
-
say yes, Lama lecuo. I said, are you must I
-
say yes. The Quran say you to you to smooth.
-
He said no.
-
I said, okay, you are going to the most and
-
you are prayed to God for God to answer your prayer.
-
Can you see that you are against the Quran? You
-
couldn't say that. You should know smook and you are smook.
-
Your prayer in the most well receive bye by God.
-
We have only one God in the war. You say,
-
it's true, He put this cigar for in Marty's from today.
-
I will never smoke you today. That is the gospel
-
and the way you are see the way you are
-
approaching people.
-
All right, thank you very much. I appreciate your sharing.
-
That's very good. But I will stand against those news.
-
It is not right the way you have done it.
-
All right, somebody handing over a child to you from
-
that place. You must be very sensitive. Please, it is wrong.
-
It is wrong. Let's not say because I want to
-
be like Jesus. Yes, be like Jesus. Eh, but don't
-
do something that we land you in prison for the
-
rest of your life, because that action. The Bible says
-
we should be as wise as serpent and as gentle
-
as you were gentle. But the other side, it is
-
not complete. The subject of the other example you gave.
-
Don't let me discuss city. But let me tell you
-
the simple thing is there is only one God, but
-
we don't save the same God. All right, Okay, So
-
if you're presenting the gospel, present the gospel. Gospel is
-
not what you are presented. Gospel is not in Quran.
-
Gospel is in the Bible. So present the gospel as
-
the Bible has said it. I know that the method
-
you use is for you to gain their attention. It's
-
for you to gain their favor. But when it comes
-
to the message of the Cross, is not for you
-
to gain anybody's favor. Go and speak the world of life.
-
If you know you can speak it. They are going
-
to be antagonistic. Withdraw, pray for them. If I ask you,
-
can I pray for you? Say don't pray for me.
-
Withdraw and say Father, please, and then you walk away.
-
Let us use this thing that God has put inside.
-
The Lord will help us in Jesus name. Chairman. Okay,
-
so Chairman, my wife, then the secretary, and then we.
-
Amen something you just said, no, share the purpose of life.
-
So sometimes I do sit down and take about it.
-
The word purpose of life. I've had it before. This
-
purpose of life, what is remade? The purpose of life?
-
Is it about just eat food and be left food?
-
Then maybe well you after the left food, you went
-
to bed, or just after that you carry about and
-
come to church.
-
Is that all about life? What is evil? What is
-
purpose of life? It's safe, That's what I want to know.
-
Thank you very much. In the simplest when we talk
-
about the purpose of life, is the reason why you
-
are in existence? And the reason why you are in
-
existence is so that your life may glorify God. That
-
is very simple? Is that?
-
Not?
-
That is very simple? But under that it's a world
-
loaded with understanding of what purpose. If there is no purpose,
-
you can't have a vision for your life. If there
-
is no vision, there is no direction. And that is
-
why some people, we decide, when they don't understand the
-
purpose of their lives, the get frustrated one day and
-
they pie themselves because they have no understanding of the
-
purpose of their lives. I think because of that, let's
-
reserve a teaching for that purpose. Okay, so that we
-
can do more about it. My wife, where are you? Okay? Secretary?
-
Come praise the Lord.
-
Thank you for the teachers are probably possibly maybe you
-
will still break it down for us in the sessions
-
so that we understand this.
-
Of these sessions better. Amen.
-
My question is concerning this social media evangelism. There are
-
sometimes that if you go on social media, you see
-
people use some phrase in the Bible just to capture
-
the pictures or just to make sure to describe the pictures.
-
Like you see a lady dressing somehow half naked and
-
snap that picture and post it and they say Jesus
-
is Lord, and how can we now can we say
-
those things looking at the image and they're looking at
-
the inscriptions, those those kinds of things portray a message
-
of salvation as that person is trying to complicate because
-
it's making a lot of people. All those words they
-
don't really have any meaning other than joge someone trying
-
to speak again, how can we be able to balance
-
that as Christians?
-
Thank you very much. You see, the social media space
-
is a free world. Anybody can do whatever they feel
-
like doing. But the responsibility is on us as Christian
-
to do what is right. The fact that somebody has
-
done it wrongly. There are so many things that so
-
many people are doing wrongly. When I said, because some
-
people are doing certain things wrongly, and we don't do
-
the right thing anymore, No, you do the right thing,
-
You do the right thing, and it is not. You know,
-
one thing you do is ask God only spirits. There's
-
a message for the world today, and that's why I've
-
always been encouraged. You us, let us read the Bible,
-
let us have a devotion from that place. God is
-
going to speak to us. And whatever God has spoken
-
to you, that has touched you, throw it out there
-
and let it bless in life. You don't know where
-
it's going to get to. Forget about what other people
-
it is because you and I are not doing it.
-
If we start doing what is right, they will stop
-
doing what is wrong. You don't need to capture it
-
under anything. No, the message of Christ is the message
-
of Christ. If you put it under any kind of guys,
-
it is no longer the message of Christ. You can
-
tell me Jesus lost you and then you put a
-
new woman day. No. No, And that's exactly what the
-
devil wants to do. And that's why we must arise
-
and do what is better. May the Lord help us
-
in Jesus name. Where's my wife? Okay? All right, so
-
I think we will come to a close again. As
-
we close now, we are going to pray one prayer
-
point and the prayer point, I want you to pray
-
just in one minute. Okay, let's make it too. Prayer
-
points one prayer point. The first one is say Lord,
-
give me the college this week. Give me the college
-
this week. Don't be afraid. Don't be afraid. You can
-
pray for somebody. Say Lord, give me the courage to
-
take this step on gospel conversation this week. That is one.
-
The second prayer point is there is somebody in your
-
family lineage who is yet to connect with Jesus. Can
-
you remember that person. You're going to pray for that
-
person just one minute to them, praise the Lord.
-
I'm sorry for I have to say to some of
-
our children outside when we we we are shout to
-
win them. They are out there and ready to win us.
-
One they were just coming from example, and a lady
-
stats beside me, so pretty, very very young, and you
-
will say that this is full of life. Although and
-
before she will open her back and she will take
-
a drink, and did the order from that drink shows
-
that it's not normal. Drink is like alcoholic. And at
-
a point the oldest way was telling me that she
-
preached to her. I'm like, oh God, give me grace
-
and before two or three lines, she looked at me said,
-
I don't know that's she are Christian and from Cooba
-
to Area one, almost approaching Area one, am a beggar.
-
She said, thank you, because I was almost winning you
-
to my side or knowing to me that she's a lesbian,
-
a woman, marrying woman, woman dating woman, woman loving woman,
-
which is totally wrong. But by the time she narrated
-
our story, you say that she's from a Christian whom
-
the mother and father and leaders in the church. So
-
when God is giving us the promptness to share our testimony,
-
to preach to death, please don't don't let us fold
-
our hands. Just ignore that we my not.
-
They are not mindful, even to the point of meru
-
that save us.
-
What are in our house?
-
Even the bikeman that we are going to pay so
-
far we are going to give out our kindness. We
-
are going to stretch our hands to them. We should
-
do that given the driver. If you're going to pay
-
their salary or give them something out of your own
-
and reward or out of.
-
Your own sweats, let us also preach the gospelt to them,
-
the Lord Us and Jesus name.
-
Thank you can we just spray. Can you ask the
-
Lord to give you that grace this week? Lord, help
-
me to take this step this week, Holy Spirit, help me.
-
Who is that person that is in your family that
-
is yet to surrender to Christ. Can you just talk
-
to the Lord about that person and say, Lord, please
-
reach to this person. Let the power of the Holy
-
Spirit engage the heart of this person. In Jesus' mighty name,
-
we pray
