Lord, we thank you. Lord, will bless you for so
-
much love you have for us. For the Bible says,
-
for God so loved the world that he gave this
-
one and only son, that also ever believe in him
-
shall not perish, but have it an alive. Thank you
-
Jesus for giving us this life. Thank you Jesus, because
-
you said in your word those who have rejected you
-
are condemned already, but for everyone who believe in You
-
is saved. Holy Spirit, we are grateful. Thank you for
-
these wonders that you have wrought in our lives. That Lord,
-
our faith.
-
In you is not in vain. Thank you, Gracious God.
-
Lord, open our eyes again as we look at your
-
word to understand the power of resurrection. Lord, we are grateful.
-
Thank you, Holy Spirit. In Jesus Mighty name, we pray
-
congratulations to every one of us, for as many who
-
as surrender, who have surrendered their lives onto Jesus. I
-
congratulate you today, because this is a day that every
-
one of us must celebrate with great assurance that God,
-
our Father, what he has promised to do through the
-
coming of Jesus, has actually been done. May his name
-
be praised forever and ever in the mighty name of
-
Jesus Christ, this money charge. I want to speak on
-
the power of his resurrection, the power of his resurrection,
-
And I'm just going to take a single verse of
-
the Bible, this money from the Book of Philippians, Philippians,
-
chapter three.
-
That's ten. There.
-
The Bible says that I may know him and the
-
power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his suffering
-
being confirmed to his death. Apost Paul, after many years
-
of working with Jesus, still expresses a deep longing for
-
a personal, living experience of Christ.
-
He says that I may know him.
-
After writing books upon books, yet the man says again
-
that I may know him. What a passionate reflection about
-
the power of resurrection.
-
He says.
-
This is not just intellectual it's not about book knowledge, no,
-
but every relational knowledge, because he has had an encounter,
-
because he had had an experience and he felt within himself.
-
Oh no, I have not known enough.
-
And for as many.
-
Who are engaged with reading the Bible every day, you
-
will agree with me that for every time you go
-
over the Bible, there's a new revelation that comes to
-
your mind, and you ask yourself have I gone through
-
this Bible passage before those who do already a Bible regularly.
-
We do not understand that you can pick a particular
-
verse of the Bible. Read it today, read it next Sunday,
-
read it someday after, read it in the next. Just
-
keep reading just one single verse. And as you meditate
-
on that verse of the scripture, there is new revelation
-
that God brings to your heart. And that's why Paul,
-
in this text he says that I may know him.
-
It is not about acknowledge read one hundred memory verses.
-
It is not about that.
-
It has gone beyond just reading and memorizing. It has
-
gone to the point of application. He then mentions, and
-
the power of his resurrection. This is point to something
-
greater than physical resurrection.
-
It is beyond that.
-
When Jesus God to the house of Mary and Martha
-
after four days that your brother had died, and Jesus
-
told the sisters, you know, I am the resurrection of life.
-
This your brother will rise again. As far as the
-
sister was concerned, it's about the future resurrection. But Jesus
-
is saying right here, resurrection will take place. Our resurrection
-
took place. There is the resurrection. Now for everyone that
-
as surrender is our life to Jesus as engaged with sin,
-
but now a life in Christ. And that is what
-
is demonstrated when we come to the place of baptism,
-
and it said that I may know him and the
-
power of his resurrection. Paul is talking about the spiritual
-
power that raised Jesus from the dead, which is not
-
available to every believer. For victory over sin, for fear,
-
for victory over scein victory over fear, and victory over
-
spiritual there. And that's why so many times when somebody
-
says I am a Christian and the person is afreed,
-
I said, there's something wrong without your faith. When someone
-
says I am a Christian and the person is still
-
living in sin, no, there's something wrong with that relationship.
-
When someone says I am a Christian and the person says, ah,
-
the devil is in me in the dream, then I
-
tell you that there is something wrong with your relationship
-
with Jesus. Because surely he took up our friend families,
-
he carried our sorrow, yet we considered him stricken by God,
-
smithing by him, and afflicted. But the Bible says that
-
by it strives what happened. We are healed and on
-
the cross. If you miss the Good Friday, that would
-
not be too good. But on the good Friday we
-
look at the seven words seven statements of Jesus on
-
the cross before he gave up, and at the sixth
-
he said, it is finished, finished, the work of salvation
-
is done. That is why the Bible says, he's a
-
man believes in Jesus. It is a new creature the Old.
-
The Old is God, and everything has become new. But
-
if the Old is still manifesting, then there is something
-
wrong without relationship. I like to look at three things
-
from that verse, and then I'll close. Number one knowing
-
Christ and the power of his resurrection, what does it mean?
-
The Bible says in the Book of Philippians, Chapter three,
-
verse ten, that I may know Him and the power
-
of his resurrection. This phrase shows us that resurrection power
-
is not just about life after death. It is about
-
daily victory. It is about new life in Christ. It
-
is about spiritual strength. Resurrection is about daily victory. And
-
that's why Jesus says, if anyone desires to come up
-
to me, let him deny himself, take up his cross.
-
Daily and follow me. So the power of resurrection is
-
evident in our daily living, a victorious life, in the
-
new life that we have embraced, and spiritual strength that
-
we have Romance chapter six, four to five. The Bible says,
-
therefore we were buried within through baptism into death. That
-
just as Christ was raised from the dead by the
-
glory of the Father, even so we also should walk
-
in newness of life. For if we have been united
-
together in the likeness of his death, certainly we also
-
shall be in the likeness of His resurrection. And that's
-
exactly what we display when we come to the moment
-
of baptism. On Thursday. We were here in the church
-
demonstrating that which Christ has done, obeying the commandment that
-
Christ has instructed us. So when someone has surrendered himself
-
onto God, it is expected that the pressing the baptized,
-
and that process of baptism is that on the basis
-
of your confession, you are dipped into the water baptism
-
by immersion, and then you are lifted up out of it.
-
You have resurrected with the Lord Jesus Christ. The power
-
of resurrection Ephicients, Chapter one, nineteen to twenty the Bible says,
-
and what is the exceeding greatness of its power toward
-
us who believe according to the working of its mighty power,
-
which he worked in Christ when he raised him from
-
the dead and seated in at the right end in
-
the heavenly places.
-
Knowing Jesus Church.
-
Knowing Jesus involves experiencing is power in our daily lives,
-
power to forgive, power for transformation, power for renewer. That's
-
what it means to know Jesus. Every thing completely in
-
our lives showcase the essence of our faith in Jesus Christ.
-
Number two in that text is that God's love and
-
the victory of the resurrection. So the love of God
-
and the victory of the resurrection in that ten Philippians
-
th return, the Bible passage continues to say that, and
-
the fellowship of his suffering being confirmed.
-
To his death. So upon links the resurrection to the.
-
Suffering and death of Christ, and is showing us that
-
the power of God's love is seen or not only
-
in the empty tomb, but also in the cross.
-
So you can see the.
-
Evidence of the power of God's love right there on
-
the cross and in the empty tomb. And that is
-
why today, as Christians, our faith is renewed when we
-
come to realize our importance, this work, this love that
-
God has for us. In John three sixteen, for God
-
soul love the world, It gave its only Begott his son,
-
that whoever believes in him should not perish, perish, but
-
have ever as life Romans five eighty, the Bible said,
-
but God demonstrates it's all love towards us in that
-
why we were still sinners.
-
What happened. Christ died for us.
-
So it isn't that we did anything, but the power
-
of God's love was made manifest right there on the cross,
-
and even in the empty tomb.
-
We can see the power of God shown.
-
In First Corinthians, chapter fifteen, fifty five to fifty seven, the.
-
Bible says, all death, where is your sting?
-
Oh? Hey, this this, where is your victory? This thing
-
of death is seen, and the strength of sin is
-
the law. But thanks me to God who gives us
-
the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. The resurrection is
-
God's loudest message, he says.
-
In that resurrection message, he says, I love you, and
-
I won the battle for you.
-
Arly Louis and that is the reason why Jesus on
-
that cross he said it is finished.
-
So as a believer you need not suffer.
-
Any kind of oppression anymore, because the battle is one.
-
The battle is one. The battle is one. Lastly, what
-
should be our response to the power of resurrection? Our
-
response should be that of faith, that of obedience and
-
new living.
-
In that same verse ten, it.
-
Says being conformed to his death, being confirmed to his death.
-
What does that mean? This means we should die to
-
self and live for God.
-
So if anyone desires to come after Jesus, let him
-
deny himself, die to self, and alive for God.
-
So resurrection power works in those.
-
Who are willing to follow Jesus through death to self
-
and rise within in holiness and purpose.
-
That's what it takes. Colossians chapter three, Versus one and two.
-
If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things
-
which are above, where.
-
Christ is sitting at the right end of God.
-
Set your mind on things above, not on things on earth.
-
In other words, when a man, when a woman, surrender
-
to Jesus, your ultimate goal and thinking should be things above.
-
What are the things that are preoccupying our minds? Are
-
they evely things or the early things Matthew six thirty three.
-
The Bible says, but sick first the Kingdom of God
-
and the righteousness, and all these things shall be herded
-
onto you, seeking first the.
-
Kingdom of God. Romance, Chapter twelve, Verse one.
-
I beseech you, therefore, brethren, by the message of God,
-
that you present your bodies a living sacrifice holy acceptable
-
to God, which is your reasonable service.
-
So, as a Christian who has experienced the.
-
Resurrection, it is important that daily we die to serve.
-
And will live for God.
-
We live a life of faith. We live a life
-
of our obedience. We live a life of new newness. Romance,
-
Chapter eight, verse eleven. The Bible says, but if the
-
spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells
-
in you, he who raised Christ from the dead, we
-
also give life to your motive bodies through his spirit
-
who dwells in you. What is the point here? The
-
point here is that we are called to live resurrected lives.
-
And everyone that is living a resurrected life, you will
-
see it displayed in their body. You will see it
-
display in their way of life. You will see it
-
display in their attitude to life, living a life of faith,
-
living a life of obedience, and living a life.
-
Of spiritual power.
-
In this passage, passe outcry, let it become our home,
-
that I may know Him, that I may know Him,
-
that I may know the power of His resurrection, that
-
I may may be part of the fellowship of His suffering,
-
that I may be confirmed.
-
To His death.
-
That should be our life. This is what full Christian
-
life is all about. Living a resurrected life, no longer
-
in life that is under the oppression of sin, knowing Christ,
-
intimately working in power, submitting daily in obedience and sacrifice
-
to God. That is when our faith is made complete.
-
I want to encourage each and every one of us today.
-
This is a call to irresponsible living. It is a
-
call to living for Christ, living for God. The Bible
-
says in Romance chapter ten, verse nine, that if you
-
confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in
-
your heart that God has raised Him from the dead,
-
you will be saved. So the question I have for
-
each and every one of us today is this, do
-
you know Jesus personally like Paul desired? Are you working
-
in the power of His resurrection? Will you allow the
-
only spirit to bring new life to your soul.
-
Today, today.
-
You can experience the power of His resurrection, not just
-
as a doctrine, but as a living reality.
-
Surrender to Christ.
-
Receive the power to live a victorious life, to live
-
a holy life, to live a purposeful life, to live
-
a surrendered life, to live a resurrected life. There's a
-
little writing at the back of our program. If you
-
look at it, there's an invitation there, and its invitation
-
towards many who are yet to surrender their lives to Jesus.
-
Don't let this power of resurrection that we are talking
-
about today be useless over your life.
-
Dear brothers and sisters.
-
Today we sell bread the greatest victory in history, the
-
resurrection of Jesus Christ.
-
He is no longer in the grave. He is alive.
-
Death could not hold him, the grave could not stop him.
-
He rose again.
-
So that we can have eternal life and a new beginning.
-
The Bible says in Romans six twenty three, for the
-
wages of Saying is death, but the gift of God
-
is eternal life in Christ, Jesus our Lord. Because Jesus
-
is reason, you don't have to remain in saying, you
-
don't have to remain in guilt.
-
You don't have to remain in fear.
-
He paid the price for your sins on the cross
-
and rose again to give you a new life, in
-
life of peace, in life of purpose, in life of hope.
-
This is the Sunday. The reason Savior is calling you.
-
He is ready to forgive your sins and make you
-
a child of God. All he asks this morning is
-
that you believe in him, turn away from your sin,
-
and invite Him into your heart. The Bible says in
-
Romans chapter ten, verse nine, if you declare with your
-
mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that
-
God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Please,
-
you can speak with me immediately after the service if
-
you are considering dropping that old life tire for the
-
new one. Trade your sorrow for the power of resurrection.
-
Trade your pain for the power of resurrection, Trade your
-
poverty for the power of resurrection. Trade your past for
-
the power of resurrection. Jesus is calling on you today.
-
The power of resurrection becomes useless to you because the
-
message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing.
-
Are you among those who are perishing. If you're among
-
those who are perishing, the opportunities yeah for you to
-
remove yourself from those who are perishing and begin to
-
see the reality of what God has done for you.
-
Shall we pray together? What is your life like? Are
-
you experiencing the power of resurrection? Are you working in
-
the power of resurrection? If you're not doing this, it
-
simply means you are year to surrender your.
-
Life to Jesus.
-
And because of that, you cannot be victorious over flesh overseein.
-
You cannot live a holy life. You cannot live a
-
purposeful life. But if you must live a victorious life,
-
if you must live a holy life, if you must
-
live a life of purpose, then it is time to
-
surrender yourself onto Christ so that you may experience the
-
power of resurrection. Is anyone in the house this morning
-
wanting to take this step? Jesus is keeping you near
-
the cross. Is anyone he who is willing to receive
-
this new life? Jesus says, come onto me. Oh ye
-
that labor and a heavy leading, and I will give
-
you rest. Cast your burdens upon the Lord, and it
-
will save you. Jesus made the seed of your word
-
that has been sown this morning makes significant impact in
-
the life of your people. Let ye be an experience
-
of the power of resurrection in the life of your people.
-
Thank you, because this seed that has been sown will
-
germinate and be a much fruit, and this word will
-
not be against us on the day of judgment. Thank you,
-
Vicious King of Glory. In Jesus mighty name, we pray Amen.
