  1. How are you raising your children? This is not part

  2. of the message you but your decide to bring this

  3. one up. This money because this video was sent to

  4. me and then it was it caught my attention. I've

  5. sent it on our waterapp group so you can look

  6. at it again. But I want to challenge every one

  7. of us that thinks that disciplining a child, eh, that

  8. you are being wicked to the child, even those of

  9. us that are yet to become parents. All we are

  10. saying is that our future hm, this is church. That

  11. the future is going to be worse than what we

  12. are saying today. That's what we are painting. Some of

  13. us go to farm, we go everywhere. Our children never

  14. go to farm. They just sit down at home. They

  15. waste away and they constitute a nuisance and they become

  16. big boys and girls in the house. They don't know

  17. any think about life at all. And then we think

  18. we are raising children. H. In the last few days

  19. we have the Lord has given us two beautiful children

  20. and with thank God for it. But you see, it's

  21. all in our hands, parents, it's all in our hands.

  22. Do you want to know how the future will look like?

  23. Just wait and see how your children display their attitude.

  24. Then you can tell it's not magic. Eh. There are

  25. some things that you don't need to pray about. You

  26. just see them happening. You just see them happen. But

  27. just want to call our attention to this. How are

  28. you training your children? And for those of us who

  29. are young people, all right, supposing your parents you think

  30. they've not done enough by training you, well, they say, way,

  31. you can turn things around and you can become a

  32. better you. And that's all I want to say about that.

  33. Don't let your children the those that constitute nuisance in

  34. the environment. For us, we don't need any more of

  35. those children. We don't need any more of those children.

  36. And by the way, if you think you are taking

  37. care of your own children, well you see, that's the

  38. reason why we are to do the prayer. We did

  39. this money for our children. Eh, that's one of the reasons.

  40. Some of these are children. They are engaged in different

  41. kind of people out there. School don't start again, so

  42. you don't know what they are going to eat. They

  43. go chop something, We'll be saying, they go come inside

  44. your house. You go begin to see this kind thing.

  45. Way the wait, did your son never have you talk

  46. before you begin. Yeah, wait, did they wront with this

  47. boy like this? But that the no entire brain say something?

  48. Don't they apple spiritualign Please let's be careful our girls.

  49. I begin to dress and there is nothing about it. Eh.

  50. May the Lord help us in Jesus name. You see,

  51. there are some things that we should not be praying about.

  52. That's me personality. There are some things we should train.

  53. That's what the Bible say, train op a child. He

  54. didn't say we should pray. No, there's room for prayer.

  55. H May God help us in Jesus name. Right charge

  56. this money. Let me start from a dickness question. Father,

  57. we ask that you would teach us your word this

  58. day in the name of Jesus. Let it be a

  59. revelation beyond the letters, to the glory and honor of

  60. your name. In Jesus' name, we pray. All right, So

  61. let me begin from the from dickness question last week.

  62. So I'll just touch on it briefly, and then I

  63. will go to what I want us to do today.

  64. It's not going to be too long. I trust God

  65. for it. Then will give room for interactions again like

  66. we've always been doing. So Dickness was asking the matter

  67. of eating one's tight, because some people will say that

  68. the Bible say that we can eat our tight. So

  69. let's understand what the Bible has to say about eating

  70. one's tight, so that we have a clear understanding of

  71. what God has to say for us, because many Christians

  72. are confused when they read the israels that Israel was

  73. told to eat the app and understanding this requires seeing

  74. the three different kinds of tides. All right, we have

  75. mentioned it, but let's take a deeper look into those.

  76. Just if it won't belong, I'll just point at those things,

  77. and then this response will help us to grabs the

  78. meaning of eating the tights and what it meant. So

  79. we look at that. So we look at some biblical texts,

  80. and then us looking at Deuteronomy chapter twelve, seventeen to nineteen,

  81. then chapter fourteen twenty two to twenty nine. I think

  82. there's one other text from numbers. So we just look

  83. at all of those very briefly, and then we see

  84. what God has for us. So let's first go to

  85. Deuteronomy chapter twelve, seventeen to nineteen. Look at what the

  86. Bible says said. It says you must not eat in

  87. your own towns, the type of your green and new

  88. wine and olive oil, or the first bone of your

  89. heads and flocks, or whatever you are vowed to give,

  90. or your free will offering or special gifts. Eighty says, Instead,

  91. you are to eat them in the presence of the

  92. Lord your God. At the place the Lord your God

  93. will choose you your sons and your daughters, your male

  94. and female servants, and the levites from your towns, and

  95. you are to rejoice before the Lord your God in

  96. everything you put your hand to. Verse nineteen says, be

  97. careful not to neglect the levites, all right, as long

  98. as you live in your land. Okay, so that's do

  99. you see what the Bible's saying there, So keep that

  100. in mind. Then the other one says in Deuteronomy fourteen

  101. twenty two, distribute to to twenty nine. But let's take

  102. it portion by portion, all right. Be sure to set

  103. aside a tenth that's the type. Now, what's wrong to

  104. set a tenth of all that your fields produce each year?

  105. It's the type of your grain, new wine and olive oil,

  106. and the first bone of your heads and flocks. In

  107. the presence of the Lord your God at the place

  108. it we choose as a dwelling for its name, so

  109. that you may learn to rever the Lord your God.

  110. But if that place is too distant.

  111. And you have been blessed by the Lord your God

  112. and cannot carry your tythe because the place where the

  113. Lord we choose to put its name is so far away.

  114. So Verse twenty five, then exchange your type for silver.

  115. That is, like you know, selling your type, right, you

  116. sell it, and then the money you not carry the money,

  117. and take the silver with you and go to the

  118. place the Lord your God we choose. Use the silver

  119. that is the money to buy whatever you like, cattle, shape,

  120. wine and other fermented drinks, or anything you wish. Then

  121. you and your household shall eat there in the presence

  122. of the Lord your God, and rejoice. And do not

  123. neglect the levies living in your towns, for they have

  124. no alongments or inheritance of their room. Twenty eight says

  125. at the end of every three years, bring all the

  126. tithes of that year's produce and start it in your towns,

  127. so that the levites, who have no allotments or inheritance

  128. of their own, and the foreigners, the fatherless, and the

  129. widows who live in your towns may come and eat

  130. and be satisfied, and so that the Lord your God

  131. may bless you in all the work of your hands. Right,

  132. so three tights are mentioned. Okay, three tights are mentioned.

  133. So the first one is the levitical tithe, the sacred

  134. tythe We have talked about it already, so I'll just

  135. mentioned it in past. So it belongs to the tides.

  136. Every year they will have to bring these. It is

  137. ten percent. Okay, that is the levitical tithe. Okay, that's

  138. the first one. So the one that we're talking about

  139. now is is the festival or rejoicing tithe. Okay, the

  140. festival type or rejoicing tight. That is the second type

  141. of tide. So the purpose of that is to be

  142. eating and enjoyed in God's presence as an act of worship.

  143. You don't eat it at all. I hope saw it

  144. in that text, those scriptural passages. I read right, you

  145. don't eat it at all. You must bring it to

  146. where God has chosen for you to worship. Okay, so

  147. today we can take it to the what we call

  148. the swallow ship. H So you bring it here. Everybody

  149. bring whatever they are, and then we eat it together.

  150. But even though it is the title of these people,

  151. but God is saying you are not to eat it

  152. at home, but you we bring it to the House

  153. of God and everybody, your family, everybody that we eat

  154. it today. But it is not only your family that

  155. we eat it, but you also prepare portions for the

  156. priests out of it, all right. So where are there

  157. supposed to do it? The place the Lord chooses, and

  158. it's supposed to be a solemn monthfold duty. No, I

  159. mean not a solemn or monthful duties. A place of

  160. rejoicing where you celebrate, all right, that's what that is

  161. meant for. And so the key future of that again

  162. continues to say, a portion of grain, wine, oil, lifetalk

  163. and all of those things. The entire household we participat

  164. in it, and then it was a festival of that's

  165. what you see in that particular one, all right. So

  166. it is not something that so when somebody comes and

  167. say the Bible say we should eat our tipe, don't

  168. let us just isolate a portion of the Bible and

  169. capitalize on it and form a doctrine out of it.

  170. Let's allow the Bible to so you see that there

  171. are three. So the third one, the third one is

  172. the charity type, okay, which is meant for the poor

  173. people in the community. In those texts I read again,

  174. it says that every three years you're supposed to bring

  175. this together so that the widows, the widows, the offhanse,

  176. and the less privilege in the society, they will also

  177. participate of what the Lord has blessed you with. In fact,

  178. he says, then they levites, the foreigners, all of them,

  179. they will all be they will all participate in it.

  180. All right, is that play? So what's the the theological

  181. significance of this? Now, the understanding here is that typing

  182. was not just a tax. Typing is not a tax,

  183. but it was worship, fellowship and socio key. That is

  184. very important. So it is not you have to you

  185. must bring ten percent and that is this thing you

  186. must if you don't bring it, and you know it

  187. is beyond that, it's a way of worshiping God. That's

  188. what God intends that to be. So God reminded Israel

  189. that he is the source of all the blessings Roman

  190. I mean Deuteronomy fourteen twenty three. So joy, generosity and

  191. compassion at the hearts of true giving. You know this

  192. subject of tax, we investigate more. You know, Nanagia, you

  193. have to go and do your most pay tax now

  194. if you have not been paying tax. The federal government

  195. has put up a law so that by January faus

  196. this year, your team number, everything else to be ready.

  197. So if you're doing business, but we'll find out details

  198. of what it requires so that we can tell all

  199. of us and we know where we stand as a church.

  200. So that But I am sure that even at the

  201. association yesterday, they gave us an understanding that we should

  202. not panic and say that after generally, first you will

  203. not have access to your money. No, that's not what

  204. the law says. You will say have access to your money.

  205. But we get detailed on our understanding about this, and

  206. then we'll be able to inform the church about it.

  207. All right, Okay, so man, is that fair? Bit? So

  208. we all understand. So eating of the tides, it's not

  209. just that you won't bring the tides. There's the one

  210. that you must bring. There's the one that goes to

  211. the let privilege. Even with that world that you are

  212. going to eat, you come, you bring it in the

  213. presence of the Lord, that's where you eat it. So

  214. that's for them. But let's not go to the New Testament.

  215. Something is wrong with this setting. Let's now go to

  216. the to the New Testament and see what God has

  217. for us in that place. So New start Testament given principles.

  218. All right, It is grace based giving. Can we say

  219. it together? Grace based given? All right? So, and that's

  220. what we're going to look at again in the next

  221. couple of minutes. So let's pay attention. So we look

  222. at Matthew chapter six one to four, Acts two forty

  223. four to forty seven, part of where we read in

  224. our commenter Bible reading this morning, and then Second Corinthians

  225. chapters eight to nine. But we just pick out some

  226. points from those places and see how God is going

  227. to help us, all right. So Number one thing that

  228. I want us to understand is that New Testament given

  229. is secret. And since here can we all say it together?

  230. New Testament given is secret? And since here, okay, so

  231. what does that mean? Let's read the Bible Matthew six

  232. one to four. Be careful not to practice your righteousness

  233. in front of others to be seen by. Then when

  234. you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpet. Okay,

  235. that is a pabolic Eh. That writing is a public

  236. of course, you will not carry trumpet and start blowing it,

  237. all right. But the Bible is trying to emphasize something there.

  238. But when you give, do not let your left hand

  239. know what your right hand is doing. So that you're

  240. giving may be in secret. Then your father, who sees

  241. what is done in secret, we reward you. So the

  242. New Testament idea of giving is secret. So the principle

  243. is that what you are giving the other person. Of course,

  244. so when the Bible is say the right hand should

  245. not know ami the left and you don't know where

  246. the right hand is given, is saying that the other

  247. person should not know what you are giving, so you

  248. give it the secret. What do we understand from that?

  249. The key point there is that Jesus wants against giving

  250. for show off or priest. It is only when you

  251. go for the old one base that one is permitted.

  252. Adi that one's permitted. Okay, you are doing launching outside

  253. the church, and you are doing all of those kinds

  254. of things. Eh, then you know you're singing. As you're singing,

  255. they're just praising you. And there your head, is your tony,

  256. is your tony? Ah, then just carry out your bang ballace.

  257. Just begin this praying musician, just the praying musician. Yes,

  258. you can do that outside, it's not I don't have

  259. anything against it. You can go ahead, But as far

  260. as the church is concerned, that is showing off. Don't

  261. do it in the church. Don't do it in the church.

  262. You're showing off. So Jesus wants against such kind of

  263. a thing. And then the one that you say, pastor,

  264. announce my name. I am giving ten billionaire for the

  265. church for this one, this one announced my name the church. No,

  266. God doesn't want that show off. God doesn't want that

  267. show off. But can the pastor announce that someone has given? Yes,

  268. why not? And I've done that several times. The family

  269. is blessing the church with this. There are times that

  270. I don't mention the family, but there are times that

  271. the family will come and you know, so it could happen.

  272. But what is their heart? Their heart is key to God.

  273. All right. True giving is not for public display. But

  274. it is between you and God. Ah, that is true giving.

  275. It's not for public display. Everybody, come and know what

  276. I'm giving, all right, God, rewards sincere secret and spirit

  277. led given. But of course there's a way you can

  278. do it. So once you do it your own way,

  279. you would have received the blessing. But the wound that

  280. God actually worthy world is what you have here. So

  281. what is the context. Let's put it today. In some

  282. churches today people give just to have their names on

  283. the donation list or to be given front seats. Jesus

  284. says that that is all the reward that we get.

  285. That they will just mention your name and they will

  286. put you in front seat. That's all you get. God

  287. looks at the heart, not the hype. Is that strange? Eh?

  288. Is that strange? But that's exactly what the Bible wants

  289. us to do, all right. Number two, New Testament given

  290. is voluntary and community focused. New Testaments given is voluntary

  291. and what community focused? Voluntary? That nobody has forced you

  292. to do it. You have decided in your heart to

  293. do it, and so you do it. Why community focused?

  294. Because you have seen a need to do it, and

  295. then you are convinced of that need and you go

  296. ahead to give. Look at what the Bible says Acts

  297. Chapter two four, forty five and forty seven. So I've

  298. got it. So all the believers were together and had

  299. everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give

  300. to any one who had need, and the Lord added

  301. to their number daily those who were being saved. What's

  302. the point. The key principle that you see here is

  303. that any Christians were not first to give. They did

  304. it willingly. And that is our model. Nobody first and

  305. anybody to give. No, they were willing. In fact, when

  306. you get to chapter four again you will towards the

  307. latter part of it. You will see We're bannerbas contributed

  308. to the growth of the church. And then in chapter

  309. five you will now see Annias and Saphira they decided

  310. that they will sell their plot of land, and they

  311. sold the plot of land. After they finished selling the land,

  312. they now came to the apostles and they say, Pastor,

  313. this is what we have sold. It's no more than

  314. that too, and we too, we have come. And if

  315. you listen to the conversation, Peter was telling them that

  316. it is not something that belongs to you. Why are

  317. you going to lie to the old spirit. It belongs

  318. to you. They didn't force you to bring it. Others

  319. are doing it. They are not saying because others are doing,

  320. but because you also want to say, everybody notice me

  321. or me too, I don't contribute to And that was

  322. where the challenge was. So the pipe is saying, that

  323. is not the kind of thing that God expects of us.

  324. So what God expects of us, be willing. And then

  325. it should be a voluntary thing, not something that somebody forced.

  326. You know, it is you that decided in your heart.

  327. So they are giving was a way to meet the

  328. needs and build unity in the body of Christ. They say,

  329. focus is community. We do it for the benefit of everybody.

  330. As a result, what happened, God increased the church. God

  331. increased the church. Imagine a church where the wealthy help

  332. the struggling members, schoofies, lend food all of those not

  333. by force, but from love. That is the New Testament,

  334. given in action. I have what other people don't have,

  335. and I say a need in the life of their child,

  336. in the life of that family, and I take a

  337. step to go and bless the family. I don't need

  338. to announce it, or perhaps you don't even want them

  339. to know you, all right, And that happens a lot.

  340. It happens back then, Mother Church, there's a family that

  341. we always give the dickens every year at the beginning

  342. of the year. This man will always, you know, get some.

  343. It doesn't matter the number of the dickens. And in

  344. that church they have I think, I don't know, maybe

  345. they are less than twenty five now, but I know

  346. they have up to twenty five twenty twenty five dickens

  347. in Garrikeee. But all of them, all of them, there

  348. will be something packaged for them. Every year. A woman

  349. just passed. Just in fact, they just went for the

  350. barrier yesterday, I think yesterday or this past week. Each

  351. time they are having the annual Thanksgiving in the church,

  352. this woman, because she's a caterer, she will get a

  353. stand of her own. She will make body make different

  354. kinds of things, and then she would distribute and give everybody.

  355. She will bring our workers to come and do it.

  356. And it got to a point that some people started

  357. complaining that this woman, it's only some people that she

  358. used to give. She doesn't even give anything. And after all,

  359. we are the world who gave our money to do

  360. all these things. And I came to the church and

  361. they are to see this one that you're seeing or

  362. not be anybody give. It is out of our own

  363. that she gave it. The church did not give her

  364. a penny, and she has been doing it year in

  365. year out. During VBS, she would do something for the children.

  366. Did they force her to do it? Nobody does, No

  367. one ever did that. That is giving you see in

  368. need in the life of the church. That is the

  369. level that God wants us to get to. It is

  370. not a time to say I don't have anything. That's

  371. which you have. How do you think you can become

  372. a blessing to the body of Christ through what you have?

  373. It is not money. This woman didn't. It wasn't even money.

  374. It's just part of what she knew that she can

  375. use to bless and she's doing it. So which one

  376. is yours? Number three? New Testaments Given is grace based

  377. and spirit laid. New Testaments Given is grace based and

  378. spirit laid. We have touched on this before, but I'm

  379. bringing it up again. Second Corinthians from chapter eight three

  380. to five, then chapter ninety six and seven. For I

  381. testify that they that they gave as much as they

  382. were able, and even beyond their ability. They audiently pleaded

  383. with those for the privilege of sharing these are the

  384. Macedonian Christians. They were even begging Paul. They don't have

  385. so much. It's a poor community. But they were even

  386. begging because Paul was saying, hey, don't even give, don't

  387. you you don't don't let us bother you. But they

  388. said no, please give us the opportunity to give. Why

  389. they say the giving beyond just giving. They are saying

  390. it as an opportunity to contribute to the growth of

  391. the Body of Christ. Each of you should give what

  392. you have decided with in your heart, what you have

  393. decided in your heart, Give it not reluctantly or under compulsion.

  394. For God loves a cheerful giver. We have dealt with

  395. this before when we looked at the heart of the giver.

  396. But what's the key insight that I want to get

  397. from here? The Macedonian Christians gave sacrificially even though they

  398. were poor. So before somebody say me, I am cookoo poor,

  399. You're not just cuckoo poor. It is just that your

  400. mind is poor. And if your mind is poor, it

  401. will affect your physical life too. These Christians, the Macedonian Christians,

  402. were poor people from every standard, yet they pleaded that

  403. they wanted to also give, and they gave sacrificially beyond

  404. what they could ordinarily have given. Giving should be planned

  405. from their hearts and joyful plant plan you're given, Oh today,

  406. Oh God has blessed me. This is what I want

  407. to give, and you go ahead and give it. There

  408. is no fixed amount, only a call to give generously

  409. and cheerfully. The difference between Old Testament and New Testament given.

  410. In the Old Testament given it is ten percent. But

  411. in New Testament everything is combined. It is not ten percent.

  412. In fact, by analysis, eh, it is more even more

  413. than ten percent. Because if God had taken care of you.

  414. Somebody had an accident and the person is in the

  415. hospital spending millions and you God has rescued you, eh,

  416. and you are opportune the same road where you follow

  417. the person follow that road and the person nearly can

  418. put but God stay keep in life. And the they

  419. hospital and they say make it bring five million before

  420. they go solve the problem with in life. But you

  421. easily you pass that road and you reach out safely,

  422. and then as you come you won't Comet does do

  423. this thing. They can look for one this wife foundering alies. Okay,

  424. that's all God deserves for his protection over your life,

  425. and then you come and give, give generously and cheerfully.

  426. The contrast, yet, between the Old Testament and New Testament

  427. is that in the Old Testament, giving like tides, was require.

  428. You don't have a choice, it was required, you must

  429. give it. And I'm sure that you can notice it

  430. from those three types of tides that I mentioned earlier on.

  431. Nobody nobody is exempt. Everybody. Everybody must give, everyone must give.

  432. In the New Testament, giving is free will, but goes

  433. deeper because it comes from the hearts and is guided

  434. by the spirit. So it is expected that it is

  435. the only spirit that has prompted you to give what

  436. you have given. That's the difference, So you're not first.

  437. It's a free will. The important thing to notere is

  438. that New Testaments given is not about less giving, no,

  439. but about better giving. And a better giving is something

  440. that is intentional, something that is sacrificial, something that is

  441. spirit led, something that is joy fielled. That is the

  442. kind of giving that the New Testament has pushed to us.

  443. So let's do a comparison between Malachi chapter three. You

  444. remember that six to twelve and then second coninnfience six

  445. to eight. So if you look at those two sites

  446. in Malachi, the Bible says, bring the ald tides. And

  447. if you don't bring it, what apple you are rubber?

  448. Is that also? Eh? Malachi says bring the old time

  449. all of them, don't remove. And if you don't bring it,

  450. what happened? You're a thief. You're a robber. But in

  451. New Testament, give what you decided in your heart, not

  452. on that compulsion, not because they force you to give it.

  453. Do we get a just are we following? Is it Claire?

  454. Is it Claire? Okay? Some people are here too, They're

  455. still confused. A Malachi giving was a command. In the

  456. Old Testament, failure brought a course. So if you don't give,

  457. you you're in trouble. You are bringing course over yourself.

  458. That's Old Testament. But in New Testament giving is voluntary,

  459. it is spirit led, and no purse is attached to it.

  460. That is New Testament. Again. In the Old Testament, the

  461. motivation is obedience and fear. That's are you most operate to.

  462. You?

  463. Remember when we're looking at it last week, we said

  464. that if this one you feel, this one is even No,

  465. I don't let me give that one, let me give

  466. this other one that is not looking good. The Bible says,

  467. the one that you early are chosen, you have chosen

  468. earlier on and the one you want to replace it.

  469. Two of them together, Eh, they now become God to

  470. It's it's it's obedience and fear. But in New Testament

  471. it is love, joy and peace and grace. So it's

  472. it's it's a grace of God that you have to give.

  473. It's not everybody that gives, but that you are able

  474. to give. It is the grace of God. In Old Testaments,

  475. the promise that you have there is material blessing and protection,

  476. all right. But in New Testament the promise is the

  477. Bible say, grace to abound in every good work. Grace

  478. to abound in every good work. So it is not

  479. just about material blessing. It is not just about protection.

  480. It is an all round that blessing. That's what the

  481. New Testament says to us. And finally, there the amount

  482. in Old Testament is what ten percent is a required

  483. thing that you must give. But in New Testament, as

  484. a lead the spirit, it can be more, it can

  485. be less. So when you hear some people who say

  486. I am giving ninety percent. Well, it is the grace

  487. that has been given to them. If God has not

  488. given you such grace, eh, let the only Spirit help you.

  489. But willingness, voluntary giving is important in all of this,

  490. all right, So let's conclude typing in the Old Testament

  491. was like paying taxes. Giving in the New Testament is

  492. like giving your parents a gift, not because you must,

  493. but why because you love them. Because you love them,

  494. so grace giving goes beyond ten percent. It gives everything

  495. God leads you to give. The key take away from

  496. us in all of this is that giving in the

  497. New Testament is not first but from a willing and

  498. a generous heart. Grace based giving comes after encountering the

  499. love of Christ. So all of this word that we

  500. are discussing, if you have not encountered the love of Christ,

  501. it will still be a burden to you, right, it

  502. will be a body. So somebody who has encounter Christ.

  503. That's where it begins from. That's where it begins from.

  504. Because you will never be able to see the reason

  505. to give, because you have not recognized the fact that

  506. God gave his only begotten son. The only Spirit guides

  507. each believer in what an hour to give? So what's

  508. the only spirit telling you this money to give? As

  509. we give the offering this morning, God still a word's

  510. faithful giving, not just with money, but with grace, with

  511. peace and opportunities. You don't give to buy blessing or

  512. avoid courses. That's not the reason why you give, is So,

  513. that's not the reason why you give. You don't give

  514. because you want to buy blessing or to avoid courses.

  515. You gave because you are grateful, because you are blessed already,

  516. because you want to be a blessing. That's to be

  517. the reason why we should give. God doesn't count nairah

  518. and cobble. It looks at the heart the sacrifice and

  519. the jury behind it. So this week, don't just give

  520. because it is Sunday. No, but give because you love

  521. the Lord. Give as a spirit leads you and made

  522. the Lord apples to be faithful in this in Jesus' name.

  523. So all right, before we pray any question and interaction.

  524. So let's go quickly over this and then we'll be

  525. able to we'll be able to say some I mean,

  526. we sing our hand and then we go on giving.

  527. We take some announcements and then we'll be on our

  528. way home. Yes, anybody okay? One mister Uji, two mister Soho,

  529. three mister Dugara. Four Bae bae. Okay, that's all, thank

  530. you very much, sir. So mister where's the mic? Please?

  531. What is mike? I don't know what to bebout. People

  532. use it last night and you didn't charge it. Eh.

  533. My question is like this. I noticed that some churches

  534. they used to give their title without recording it, but

  535. baptize nowadays all since they are recording it. Why. The

  536. reason why that is done in the Baptist is primarily

  537. for accountability, and it is between you and God. So

  538. at the end of the year, you look at that card,

  539. that card, because usually you should have the card. At

  540. the end of the year, you should have the card

  541. so that new year they will give you a fresh card.

  542. All right, So you have to look at yourself and

  543. in your room have a personal talk with God. So

  544. have you been faithful? Have you been faithful? Have I

  545. been faithful? That's just the reason for that. It's just

  546. to app us to be accountable, is to help us

  547. to be accountable. And there's nothing wrong with that. There's

  548. nothing wrong with that, you know it. When the spirits

  549. say you should do this, you should do this, all right.

  550. The point is this, where you faithful, when God says

  551. should do that, you yourself, you will know now, and

  552. I should guide them so that in the new year

  553. I should do as the Lord leads me to do

  554. so just for the purpose of accountability, not because anybody

  555. is going to you know, mark or do anything. No,

  556. God doesn't need it. It's just for you. It's for

  557. each and every one of us, so that when we

  558. look at it and we are accountable, all right, that's

  559. just the purpose for it, yes, ma'am. The cards, well,

  560. I think from what we have studied in the scriptures,

  561. I don't think it is the business of that pastor

  562. to do because as first Bible is concerned, what you

  563. are giving is between you and God. Yes, some people

  564. are doing it. In fact, for me as a person

  565. earlier when I came, when I first came, because I

  566. always transfer my tithe straight to the church's account, all right,

  567. and not until somebody from the account how to clarify,

  568. because there was an understanding that pastor doesn't give tide,

  569. you understand, So it was asked and only then that

  570. one of the people in the accounts because they see

  571. the alerts and they say, oh, no, it is not

  572. so this person gives all right. So it is not

  573. between even for the money counter the only just recorded.

  574. It is between the individual member and God. So as

  575. far as I'm concerned, no, I don't think, not just me.

  576. I'm sure the way we have looked at the Bible,

  577. it is not for it's not for anybody to use

  578. it and use it to preach. But I can tell

  579. you that in some of the churches they do. Now.

  580. In fact, if we are going to come for your

  581. name of your baby, we will bring out the tithing

  582. card and we'll check how much you are being contributed

  583. to the growth of the church. If your popsy die,

  584. your mom say die, make we go, we go look now,

  585. or you want, mardy, we go carry the card. Come.

  586. Dispersing on the contribute to the growth of the church,

  587. he said, no, they will keep it aside. They won't

  588. do anything. But excuse me, let's come to the knowledge

  589. of the Bible. Is that exactly what God wants us

  590. to do? No, as far as the Bible is concerned,

  591. why are we doing that? We are doing that just

  592. to encourage us so that we will be able to

  593. you know, will be, will give. But it's one thing

  594. about God is this You can see it from the

  595. New Testament. It's a lon the very thing. Even you're

  596. coming to church. I can only at best I can say, Ah,

  597. I can encourage you. Please come to church, Let's worship together,

  598. Let's do this one together, and all of that. That's

  599. the best I can do. I can never force you

  600. to come to this place. No, I cannot. It is

  601. not the mandate that God. Even God does not force anybody.

  602. In the Old Testament, he says I have placed before

  603. you life and death. But he says, choose life. It's

  604. just advising, no, choose life. But you know that when

  605. people see choose, they choose death.

  606. Right.

  607. Is it God's fault? It's not God's fault. The Bible says,

  608. for Gods all love the world that he gave you,

  609. only begot you, so that whosoever listen, whosoever believed in him,

  610. we're not perishh Is that not that? That's what God

  611. has said. Didn't force anybody to come to him. No,

  612. he didn't force anybody. It's your choice. So if you

  613. decide that I want to follow Jesus today is your choice.

  614. But the best thing I can do is to appeal.

  615. And that's what Corinthians is saying. We appeal to you

  616. in Christ Jesus be reconciled to God. So we can

  617. only appeal that you come and reconcile with God. But

  618. I cannot force you to do what you don't want

  619. to do. And on the day of judgment, it is

  620. your what you have decided. That's what is going to

  621. speak for you. All right, May God help us in

  622. Jesus name. All right, honorable?

  623. So who.

  624. Of the parsonal constituency they we hear you praise alone?

  625. They do?

  626. Some question is on ten percent? Okay, sir? I want

  627. to know that. Is it good for me to touch

  628. a ten percent? I want to appeal to you not

  629. to touch. If that is what you have decided to give,

  630. don't touch it, give it, okay. The reason why I

  631. asked this question is that there was a time I

  632. asked this question in one of the Baptist church. For example.

  633. Now I have packaged my ten percent and I'm ready

  634. and I'm going to church. On my way to the church, oh,

  635. I just came out from the house and I discovered

  636. that one of my neighbor was seriously sick, which I

  637. don't have any other money that I can assist him

  638. to go to hospital. Is it good for me to

  639. touch that ten percent and send him to hospital? No, sir, no,

  640. it is not good. The same thing with your offering.

  641. And that's why the Bible saying it's about your heart.

  642. What have you decided? You have decided this money you

  643. are going to give it? If it's not just about

  644. tide now or offering. Even if you have decided in

  645. your heart that, oh, there's a family that are indigen

  646. and you want to assist them, and you have decided that, Ah,

  647. thank you God, I want to give them this one

  648. thousand and as you have going and you see another

  649. person with another kind of challenge and you are related

  650. to those people too. No, you have decided in your

  651. heart that that is what you want to give these people. No,

  652. let God help you to provide something for that other family.

  653. Go ahead and bless this one and let it be

  654. between you and God. It is about the heart, and

  655. that's why the Bible is saying, what you have decided,

  656. So what you have decided is what you will give.

  657. They move out of it, because that's which you have decided.

  658. It means that there is a connection between you and

  659. the spirit, that that is what he wants you to give,

  660. and then you give it. It's tough, very tough. Secondly, yes, sir,

  661. I want to know, is it every money that ones

  662. can give us a ten percent? When we studied the

  663. beginning from the beginning when Abraham gave to make kissedech

  664. the tenth that I gave from where did they give it?

  665. M hmm. From the blessing? From the blessing? What has

  666. God blessed you with this week or the past week?

  667. What has God blessed you with in the past week?

  668. That is where you remove. It's just an out of

  669. appreciation God. I am thankful to you for this blessing.

  670. And you bring it, and you bring part of it

  671. and give it to the Lord if you want to

  672. give it. But God will not force you to bring

  673. it in the first place. So if you want to,

  674. you just want to give it to appreciate God. That sitter.

  675. Every blessing, every blessing that comes to you is what

  676. God wants you to appreciate Him with that that you do.

  677. So it's that of the blessing. Yes, it everywhere, every everywhere,

  678. every way. Because there are some blessings, people call it blessing.

  679. And it come in different ways. Lessen. For example, now

  680. where I'm working, okay, and it happens that the money

  681. there are some of us as a Christian, maybe from

  682. your working place, your boss send you that go and

  683. buy so so so things for me. And maybe you

  684. tell your boss that this is the amount of what

  685. I'm going to buy for you. And it happens that

  686. it's not the writer it. Maybe you top something on,

  687. you put something on top, So can I use such

  688. money to give him the church? I don't have scriptural

  689. backing for this. Just like Paul, we say there are

  690. some matters that he didn't have. Boy said, counsel, this

  691. is my counsel. Please don't please don't why because God

  692. knows where you are bringing it from. You have been

  693. dubious to get that money. I don't know because I'm

  694. not the one receiving it. Take the instances of Annas

  695. and Sapphirah what happened. What you have just done is

  696. to lie and God will not bless you for that. Yes,

  697. the money you know is big. You see it is tough.

  698. But you see, if it can just be obedient. Let's

  699. just be obedient. Your salary is paid. It is two

  700. hundred K this month. As the spirit of God leads

  701. you bring something out for the Lord. The Lord blesses you.

  702. Somebody gave you a blessing. Out of it give to

  703. the Lord. But you have torn old. You have cheated somebody.

  704. And then because you have cheated, you are bringing out

  705. of the proceeds of your cheats to God. No, I

  706. may not know, and God will not. If you bring

  707. it here, you put it here, we pray God receive it.

  708. But the point is this, you can never be blessed.

  709. It is biblical principle. It is the heart. You will

  710. not be bleased. So why bringing what you will not

  711. be bleased? Why don't you bring what God will blesse you?

  712. That is my counsel final, Liza, it will be listen.

  713. I will plead with you, as a leader and as

  714. a pastor of this church, to create time so that

  715. you will teach us, the members of this church. Because

  716. if you look at what is going on in our

  717. churches now there are some of us as members. Sometimes

  718. we'll come to church and will bring on clean money

  719. and offer it to God, which I know that there's

  720. no blessing, and this is what some of some of

  721. us don't know. Please create time to teach us. Let

  722. us know what type of money are you supposed to

  723. bring in the church and what type of the money

  724. are you not supposed to bring the church? Thank you

  725. very much, thank you, sir, h mister. So, who ah,

  726. how long have we been teaching this? I think we're

  727. teaching some overy a month. This teaching has actually been

  728. going for over a month. And we don't even rush

  729. it every Sunday, every Sunday. This is how we do

  730. it every Sunday in the last over a month. Now,

  731. I think it's only one Sunday that we just you know,

  732. we pushed out of it and then we came back

  733. to it again. All right. In fact, where we add

  734. a situation in question, just like I I started with

  735. a question from last week, I said, I will find

  736. out more about it, then I will come and explain it.

  737. And that's how we've been doing because it's not something

  738. to be rushed. There are a lot of things going

  739. on there. So I just feel that it is best

  740. that all of us look at the Bible and then

  741. we get the information from the Bible and we act

  742. in that way. There are so many things that see,

  743. you will not see black and white in the Bible,

  744. just like you will never see in the Bible. Where

  745. the Bible we say just in adga, this your wife

  746. is kindly? What was that for my this day? No,

  747. it is not written in the Bible that that is

  748. our wife. No. But somehow because of the principles of

  749. the Bible, you have been following. You have been reading

  750. the mind of God. We shape your thoughts and that's

  751. how it happens. May God help us in Jesus name.

  752. That did you hold on? Four? Sir? Let me take

  753. mister Garra, and then after mister who else? No, no, no,

  754. and bye bye here, so let me take all those people.

  755. Just old on, yes, sir, praise amen. My question is

  756. that I want to ask questions about the task. So

  757. you talk about three types of tasks that we support

  758. to GIF. So my question there is is that you

  759. said three type of Thir is inside time person you

  760. will come up or from where? All right, thank you sir. Now,

  761. the the understanding is this, sirn It is not like

  762. that in the Old Testament. Yes, in the Old Testament.

  763. If you were around last Sunday, we talked about these

  764. types and because of dickness point that she released that

  765. some people we not gift tights, or some people will

  766. say that they can, the Bible say they should eat

  767. their tights. And that's why I had to come from

  768. that direction against this morning. But when we're looking at

  769. it in fact, the entire fights like we started last week,

  770. sometimes it could be twenty three percent of your income

  771. of the blessing that God has given to you. It

  772. is not just ten percent, but a cap is ten percent,

  773. but sometimes it goes even beyond that ten percent. But

  774. in the Old Testament, the Bible clarifies that there are

  775. three types of tides that the people of Israel we give.

  776. But we must balance it because now we are a

  777. New Testament church. But big fact that we are New

  778. Testament church does not mean that we should throw away

  779. everything in the Old Testament. But there are principles that

  780. we can learn from the Old Testament. But we are

  781. no longer under the law, and that is why we

  782. are bringing this balance. Okay, we are under the grace,

  783. and that's why it is bad grace based giving. So

  784. we are under grace. We are no longer under the law,

  785. so the law of giving those three types does not apply.

  786. But however, the principle is still applicable. Do we have

  787. needed people in our midst Yes, we have needed people.

  788. Do we need to give to them? Yes, we need

  789. to support them. Do we have people who are working

  790. for the Lord and missed us. Yes? Do we need

  791. to give? Yes at their times? That even the other one,

  792. I just I just put it under the guise of

  793. a swallow ship that we have loved fist in the church,

  794. everybody will bring something and we share it. Yeah, it's

  795. happen even in the New Testament too, all right. But

  796. in all of this, what is most important is your heart.

  797. It is not the size of what you have brought,

  798. but your heart. That's where God is concerned. Not that

  799. you are forced to give, not that you are pushed

  800. or anything, all right, But this is what you desire

  801. and then you give it. So the Old Testament, that's

  802. how it is structured. But in the New Testament it

  803. is not. And that's why you see that it is

  804. tight and offree. That's what is given, all right.

  805. So according to the teaching, So even certify, I understand

  806. very well. That accordance to Malarcha chafter three that you

  807. talk about that bring all your tats. Yes, so, and

  808. I see that the truth of the matter, we are

  809. roping God. No one is no one is perfect among

  810. all of us. So attaind that we have have a

  811. long way to go and that is the truth.

  812. Thank you very much, sir. So we have a long

  813. way to go or less not rob God, but then

  814. beyond that in the in the New Testament. Uh, that's

  815. where our focus is now. Praise God. Amen.

  816. I want to ask my question on the Matthew. Don't travels?

  817. Don't it rain?

  818. Okay? Sir?

  819. He said, what sorrows await you teachers of religious law?

  820. And you, pharasi is hippocrate, for you are careful to

  821. type even the tinness income from your halt Guardian, but

  822. you ignore the more important aspect of the justice of

  823. the law, that is justice, mass and faith. And look

  824. at what Jesus said you should tight, yes, but do

  825. not neglect the more important things. So when I'm looking

  826. at it, he is talking to the I don't know,

  827. can I pharasees who still believe in the ten percent?

  828. And Jesus is still telling them, yes, tight, and you

  829. still you see as if it's still referring to the

  830. ten percent, so how do you yes?

  831. That is also to Jesus is not against the typing.

  832. Contrary to what people often say, Jesus was not against

  833. the typing. And the fact it's pointing out in that passage.

  834. I think we made reference to it last week or so,

  835. or maybe they had to give or so. You see,

  836. Jesus is not saying don't pay the tight. But what

  837. Jesus is saying is that there is something even much

  838. more important, eh than just following the ten percentral Because

  839. for these Pharisees and Sarduces, oh yes they want to

  840. your show. Yes, they just come and then do like

  841. this and give their ten percent and all of those things.

  842. And the the other time that Jesus was sitting and

  843. it was looking at everybody, that widow that gave her

  844. two pieces of penny that you kept in that Jesus said, no,

  845. that woman has given more than all of these people

  846. bringing their big amount of money. Why it is the heart,

  847. It is the heart. So against Jesus in this passage

  848. is making it clear that yes, you give the tides,

  849. but there is something more important than that. Take care

  850. of the less privileged, take care of them, take care

  851. of them. So there is giving that you bring to

  852. church to say, Lord, I am grateful. You can also

  853. give to those that are around you to bless your lives.

  854. And that's why we must strike the balance. And that's

  855. what Jesus is trying to push across to road. There

  856. strike the balance. And just like what mister Soul said

  857. the other time, can I give what I've decided to

  858. give us tight to someone else losing? No, you can't

  859. do that. You can't do that. You have this, I

  860. have to give that to the Lord. Give you to

  861. the Lord. Then as the Lord blesses you again, now

  862. help the other person. That's the balance I mean, goes

  863. brand us deeper understanding in Jesus. All right, so two

  864. more people, okay, three more, let's beget from bye bye here.

  865. Then we'll go to mister came up, and then we'll

  866. come to Babar, my man, and then we close Praise God.

  867. I have to constantly ask, okay, sirm, first is this

  868. please let's be patient. There are people that end money

  869. before month end. Yes, so does that end morning before

  870. the month ending? Can they wait till the weekend the

  871. month end before. They're not bring the air tight to

  872. avoid touching it. No, because there are business people in

  873. the house here, ehm that every week there is something

  874. that they gets has gained at the end of their sales.

  875. Somebody who is a market to my in karom or

  876. in market today, that person can give every and that's

  877. why the ushers will always bring the card every every Sunday,

  878. all right. They always bring it every Sunday, okay, So

  879. you can give it at any time, all right. In fact,

  880. there are people who have sent it to churches account

  881. during the week it is coming from the account. They

  882. just send it straight to the account of the church

  883. and it is done so they don't wait even until Sunday.

  884. So as as much as it comes so that you

  885. won't touch it, give it and let it go of you, okay,

  886. Praise God. Amen. The second person is this like if

  887. you are giving tits, it's between you and your God. Yes.

  888. Then maybe you end some money within the week before

  889. the weekend you love, Maybe you are in somewhere else.

  890. Maybe you use another peas to send one to church

  891. account as tight. Once you called the church to tell

  892. them that you have seen your tight. It's between you

  893. and your God. It is between you and God. The

  894. highest thing that you can do to airpost in record

  895. keeping in the church, because we want to identify what

  896. is tight and what is offering. It is good because

  897. in our cooperative assignment to the association, to the conference,

  898. to the convention, we're also going to you know, we're

  899. cooperating with all these bodies. So out of the tights,

  900. offering and thanksgiving, we're also supposed to share this part

  901. with all those bodies. So it helps us to be

  902. able to know. But if you're giving towards maybe the

  903. tea of the children, no you That's why we always say,

  904. please indic kate what you are giving so that it

  905. to apples in proper accountability. Yes, mister came up, praise

  906. the lords. My aunt goes to the question that mister

  907. Soho asks, and my own first and foremost, I'll share

  908. the testimoney, and no, no, no, no, don't share testimony.

  909. Now goes to question you're not balance it when he

  910. asks about time is don our side? When he asks

  911. about when you are coming out from the house and

  912. that is your last money off, I'm tied. You made

  913. somebody and it may be sick. You're not supposed to

  914. touch that money.

  915. Uh.

  916. Twenty seventeen, I traveled to village. It was June. I

  917. have some more project by then and I was not

  918. having money. When I was in the village. I travel

  919. Friday Saturday and the only word will remain the captain

  920. to do the work. And I borrowed money the carpenter

  921. front here I sent him. I told him that I

  922. don't have money, but take transport if you do the

  923. work for me. After I don't get the money, I'll

  924. pay you back. You agree when I travel together out

  925. you It was on Saturday evening. One elderly man made

  926. me and what I was having only transport to come

  927. back and the titan offree. The man made me. It

  928. was it was sick. Tell me that my son, please,

  929. I'm sick and my drugs don't finish. Can you help

  930. me see the the sample of the drugs. Can you

  931. help me give me something sugar and buy the drugs.

  932. The thought of that borrowing tight and offree. If you

  933. can't give somebody, don't borrow it. Most pe I reminded.

  934. It hit my chase. I tell him, sorry, I don't

  935. have money. All lay title offering. But in my heart

  936. I decided that if I come back then a week,

  937. any amount of money I get it, I would send

  938. five thousand to him. Better. I didn't tell him. I

  939. just decided in my mind. So Sunday I lead the money.

  940. We went to the church. We finished on the school.

  941. When the men's harvest start, when they called afree and

  942. tighter stand up, I just thought, hit my chase, and

  943. I heard him voice saying that you didn't help the

  944. sick man. You are going to give Titan afree which

  945. blazing and benefit I are going to receive. Tears just

  946. come in my heart, my mind, my eye. I sat down,

  947. let her stand up. I gave the tights and offering.

  948. I come back. I tried to God to forgiven ess

  949. because what I supposed to do I didn't do. Away

  950. give Titan offrey, and I decided in my heart, by

  951. God grace, no matter it be, I'll help the man.

  952. And then one of my friends is living here. Tight

  953. friend Isaac, that repairing shoe. Sam know him to sixteen.

  954. He was having problem with his wife and he went

  955. to the market bower if you want to hang himself,

  956. He was praying, first thing, let God show him the

  957. way to solve the problem with his wife. No option,

  958. no answer that I travel the village on Sunday. But

  959. he traveled with Majen on Sunday. I want to go

  960. to the church early morning before I come back to

  961. a Budja. He was on the way. He need one

  962. man dressed like a mad man, and he was the way.

  963. He told me. He said, only offer and tight he

  964. was having. The man asks him, please, I'm feeling hungry.

  965. Can you give me money? Let me go and buy food?

  966. They eat and that borrowing of titan Orfrey hit his chase.

  967. He said, don't have anything. He passed back, you know

  968. which from here to this route. He had a voice

  969. telling him that you didn't help them, and you want

  970. to give titan offering, which blazing are you going to receive?

  971. When you turn back, you don't see the man. You

  972. go around asking people either you see somebody like a madman.

  973. You don't see anybody here the choice that you didn't go.

  974. You come back and sat down cry to God, okay

  975. this one. How can we balance it that if you

  976. meet a sick person, you have the money, you cannot

  977. use it to save their life. How can we balance

  978. on it. Thank you. So contextually, this is simple. It

  979. is not difficult. The two instances you have given, you're

  980. not going to see those people again. And see, all

  981. of this is about our connection with the spirit of God.

  982. It's our relationship with God. The two instances you have given,

  983. we put ourselves under the law. Eh. We put ourselves

  984. under the law, and that is what that's why we're

  985. having that pressure. This person needs that help and you

  986. know you may not likely be able to get back

  987. to this Father. I'm going to give this person this,

  988. but don't be unfaithful because the dimension the reason why

  989. answer mister Soho, what many of us do is that

  990. once you have given it to that person is done.

  991. That is where it is wrong. That is where it

  992. is wrong. You have made up your mind. But now

  993. there's a challenge with someone that you need to assist

  994. the person. Let's balance it. Go ahead, assist the person. Lord,

  995. I'm having to assist this person. God, we know that.

  996. And then later on you now get the money and

  997. do what you intend to do for God. That balances it.

  998. That balances it, That balances it. So let's not let's

  999. not feel that. Uh, somebody is in it and the

1000. title or the offering that you have decided in your

1001. heart to give because you have given it to somebody

1002. and you feel that that is all. No, no, no,

1003. what you have decided when you now have the money

1004. or when you get back home, take it and then

1005. give it and that balances it. And the Lord blesses

1006. you that the mama the last person a man.

1007. Issue of bringing dirty money into the church. Actually, like

1008. what he said, it's not supposed to be so dirty money.

1009. When you know that this is dirty money. You have

1010. a boss and he asks you to go and do

1011. to buy something, you all you need to know that

1012. you are a child of God and you have to

1013. do the needfool from the first at the first place,

1014. in the first place, you're supposed to do the needful.

1015. Whatever change that is remaining, we turn it back to him.

1016. That's not your money. So if you eat that money,

  1017. it's a sin. And I make I'm a civil servant

1018. and I know what is happening in the civil service.

1019. All others are doing it. I said it in the

1020. Sunday school during the Sunday school. Others are doing it.

1021. So if I do there is nothing. I'm not the

1022. only person doing it. What you know that it is

1023. a sin. Please don't do it, even others. When others

1024. are doing it, and you do you get the money

1025. you want to bring it to the church. Yes, there's

1026. not nothing bad to bring it in the church. But

1027. you know the the, the the the the the whatever

1028. that will follow you. So go help us in Jesus' name.

1029. Thank you very much Church for this opportunity to go

1030. through this Bible study. I want to believe that we're

1031. being God has ept us all right, and the Lord

1032. we continue to help us in Jesus name. I know

1033. there are so many things and the way our world is.

1034. So many confusing things are there, and the only way

1035. for us to balance it is for us to search

1036. the scriptures. There are some things that are not particularly

1037. written in the Bible, but how do you know how

1038. to navigate such things? There are principles in the Bible

1039. that we guide us in taking the right decision. I

1040. pray God will help us in Jesus' name, all right,

1041. So we will take him as we are taking to him.

1042. Well at the same time, be given our offering as

1043. we are taking to him. And then the secretary we

1044. come afterwards. Where's the So we take the end count

1045. to your blessings, named them one by one,
