  1. You may have seen the classic film It's a Wonderful Life in that the character George Bailey struggles to believe that his hometown of Bedford Falls can give him the wonder that he desires in life.

  2. The same enemies causes George Bailey to fidget with the mundane. He is restless to leave it all behind him. And he feels that he must travel to some other patch of this world, somewhere else, to do something worthwhile.

  3. He's ruled by those two words, if only. He says in the film, he says, I couldn't face being cooped up for the rest of my life in this shabby office. I wanted to do something big, something important.

  4. Satisfaction is never quite now, is it? It's never quite here in this moment.

  5. We are a society obsessed with the new. We are a people obsessed with change, with invention, with the novel.

  6. As someone once said, somewhere else, doing something else, is the model of our advancement.

  7. If only I could get there, somewhere over the rainbow, my life will be alright.

  8. If only these things could change, I would finally be happy.

  9. Somewhere else, doing something else, being someone else.

  10. As we open up the book of Ecclesiastes, we're going to go through it over the next few Tuesdays.

  11. We'll probably take a break, and then maybe come back to it next year.

  12. But what we find in this book is a teaching of a wise, godly man who is about to burst our bubble.

  13. He's about to take us on a grand tour of the world, to make us face things that perhaps we don't want to about the world.

  14. That there is no yellow brick road.

  15. That there is no end of the rainbow somewhere else.

  16. There is no shortcut to a wonderful life in this world.

  17. But he also holds the keys for showing us the enjoyment and satisfaction in this world as a gift from God.

  18. For where you are, whenever you are, and whoever you are, right now.

  19. It's a grand world tour of realism, but also of rejoicing in this life.

  20. So firstly, listen to the words of this tour guide.

  21. The words of the tour guide.

  22. Now the name Ecclesiastes, it's not a word we use often, is it?

  23. It's a word that is from a Greek word that is used to translate a Hebrew word.

  24. Meaning a collector, or a compiler, or a preacher, or a teacher.

  25. It's named after the preacher who is featured in the book.

  26. And we're introduced to him in verse 1, aren't we?

  27. The words of the preacher.

  28. The son of David, king in Jerusalem.

  29. Now we're going to learn more about this preacher as time goes by.

  30. But right from the beginning we are given his sermon text.

  31. The words of this preacher's sermon.

  32. And it's probably one of the shortest sermons that I've ever seen.

  33. It's just three words long.

  34. In verse 2.

  35. Vanity of vanities, says the preacher.

  36. That's his text.

  37. A very, very short lunchtime talk.

  38. He is going to unpack those three words over the whole book.

  39. But that's his sermon.

  40. Vanity of vanities.

  41. Now again, vanity is not a word we use often, is it?

  42. Some English translations of the original word there use the word meaningless.

  43. You might find that in your Bible at home.

  44. Others use the word breath.

  45. Breath of breath.

  46. That is helpful.

  47. Anyway, vanity stands for something that is vaporous.

  48. Like a breath.

  49. Something that is futile.

  50. Gone at their one minute, gone the next.

  51. Something that is ephemeral and vacuous.

  52. Something that is pointless and meaningless.

  53. This preacher's text sounds odd, doesn't it?

  54. All is vanity, he says.

  55. As we begin on this tour, with this tour guide,

  56. we might think somehow we have bumped into a madman

  57. who is shouting out crazy things on the street.

  58. He is shouting out nonsense here, isn't he?

  59. All is vanity.

  60. Really?

  61. Marriage is meaningless.

  62. Friendship is pointless and vacuous.

  63. Really, preacher?

  64. Is all vanity?

  65. Come on.

  66. He takes us on this tour, though.

  67. And we realise as he does that,

  68. he is not the madman,

  69. but he is the wise man.

  70. And he is going to show us a world

  71. that we know, deep down at heart,

  72. is a complex place to live in.

  73. It is a world full of loose ends.

  74. Where there are rules,

  75. but there are exceptions to the rule.

  76. Where things that should not happen, happen.

  77. A maddening world.

  78. A frustrating world.

  79. Where all, at one level, is vanity.

  80. And he is going to peel back the curtains,

  81. as it were,

  82. to help us to see

  83. what is going on backstage in the world.

  84. To see the true reality.

  85. It's like our tour guide,

  86. the preacher,

  87. he is like one of those magicians

  88. who gets kicked out of the magic circle

  89. for revealing all of the secrets.

  90. Now, you hear those stories, don't you?

  91. A magician who has learnt

  92. all of the arts and the tricks.

  93. He's learnt the sleight of hand

  94. and the distraction.

  95. He is in the know

  96. about how all of the tricks work,

  97. but he breaks away from the system

  98. and he reveals all.

  99. He tells the audience

  100. the secrets of all the tricks.

  101. Where does the hat actually come from

  102. when it comes out of the hat?

  103. The rabbit.

  104. How do they saw the person in two?

  105. He gives us a revelation of the world.

  106. Behind all of the smoke

  107. and all of the mirrors.

  108. Behind the party line

  109. of materialism

  110. and consumerism

  111. and atheism.

  112. And he gives it us straight,

  113. undiluted,

  114. honestly.

  115. And we will see that

  116. he is a brilliant,

  117. brilliant preacher

  118. as he does this.

  119. Because he is like a magician

  120. who gets off the stage

  121. and sits with the audience.

  122. He is a preacher

  123. who gets down

  124. and sits with the congregation

  125. and asks the questions

  126. about the world

  127. that they are asking.

  128. He will avoid the trite

  129. and sentimental,

  130. standard preacher's answers

  131. and the dishonest answers

  132. to bring us a healthy dose

  133. of realism.

  134. So he says,

  135. on my tour of the world

  136. I am going to give you

  137. two things.

  138. The first thing I am going to give you

  139. is the genuine story.

  140. I am going to give you

  141. the genuine story.

  142. Now in our little section

  143. on our sheets this afternoon,

  144. verse 3 to 11,

  145. we see that the story begins

  146. showing a world

  147. of inscrutable repetition.

  148. A world that goes round

  149. and around and around

  150. as if it's stuck on repeat.

  151. Now throughout the book

  152. of Ecclesiastes

  153. there are two refrains

  154. that the preacher uses

  155. for his two main messages.

  156. And the first refrain

  157. we see in the title

  158. for his genuine story

  159. of the world

  160. in verse 3.

  161. What does man gain

  162. by all the toil

  163. at which he toils?

  164. Under the sun.

  165. Under the sun.

  166. That's shorthand

  167. for life in this world

  168. as it really is.

  169. Everything that is

  170. from a human perspective.

  171. And life under the sun

  172. he says

  173. is fundamentally

  174. repetitive.

  175. It is ultimately

  176. fading

  177. and futile.

  178. Look at verse 9 there.

  179. What has been

  180. is what will be

  181. and what has been done

  182. is what will be done

  183. and there is nothing new

  184. under the sun.

  185. It is a world

  186. where people

  187. and their achievements

  188. are endlessly

  189. being rehashed

  190. and re-photocopied

  191. over and over again.

  192. In the film

  193. Edge of Tomorrow

  194. Tom Cruise

  195. plays the character

  196. of an army officer

  197. who is captured

  198. by a strange

  199. alien power.

  200. I don't know

  201. if you like sci-fi.

  202. But it forces him

  203. to relive

  204. the same day

  205. over and over again.

  206. And it is the day

  207. when humans

  208. plunge themselves

  209. into a war

  210. with another race.

  211. Now at first

  212. Cruise

  213. tries to fight.

  214. He uses this day

  215. to try and learn

  216. and train.

  217. He uses this one day

  218. to advance

  219. his combat skills.

  220. One day

  221. to defeat

  222. his enemy

  223. to develop.

  224. only to wake up

  225. and have to do it

  226. all over again

  227. the next morning.

  228. The catchphrase,

  229. the catchline

  230. of the film

  231. is live,

  232. die,

  233. repeat.

  234. He is living

  235. and dying

  236. and repeating.

  237. And in the film

  238. it's a harrowing

  239. and weary

  240. experience

  241. that he has to

  242. find a way

  243. to escape.

  244. Now spoiler alert,

  245. he does find a way.

  246. So it's a good ending.

  247. But the preacher

  248. shows us here

  249. that there is

  250. only escape

  251. from the living,

  252. the dying

  253. and the repeating

  254. in a Hollywood film.

  255. Because that is

  256. exactly how

  257. this world is

  258. under the sun.

  259. Listen to him

  260. in verse 4.

  261. A generation

  262. goes

  263. and another

  264. comes

  265. but the earth

  266. remains forever.

  267. Lifetime

  268. after lifetime

  269. we live,

  270. we die

  271. and we are

  272. forgotten.

  273. Think about that.

  274. The vast majority

  275. of people

  276. who have ever

  277. lived in this world

  278. we have never

  279. known one

  280. single one of them.

  281. How many of us

  282. know our

  283. grandparents

  284. by name

  285. or our

  286. grandparents?

  287. And the few

  288. people that we

  289. have known

  290. are soon

  291. forgotten.

  292. In a clever

  293. use of language

  294. the preacher

  295. shows our

  296. transience

  297. in comparison

  298. with the earth

  299. that we live

  300. on,

  301. doesn't he?

  302. In verse 4,

  303. the earth

  304. remains forever.

  305. The constancy

  306. of the earth

  307. shows our

  308. repetitive life.

  309. The same

  310. earth

  311. lived on

  312. by generation

  313. after generation

  314. swept away

  315. by the tides

  316. of time.

  317. the same

  318. earth that

  319. Socrates

  320. walked on.

  321. Constantine

  322. has been

  323. here.

  324. Shakespeare

  325. and Leonardo

  326. da Vinci.

  327. Michael

  328. Jackson.

  329. The earth

  330. has seen

  331. them all

  332. come and

  333. go.

  334. They've all

  335. walked on

  336. the same

  337. earth

  338. and they've

  339. all seen

  340. the same

  341. sun that

  342. we see

  343. that rises

  344. and goes

  345. down and

  346. hastens to

  347. the place

  348. where it

  349. rises in

  350. verse 5.

  351. We see

  352. that sun

  353. every day

  354. don't we?

  355. But the

  356. sun won't

  357. necessarily

  358. see us

  359. every day.

  360. We will

  361. die

  362. and the

  363. whole thing

  364. will start

  365. all over

  366. again.

  367. Moses

  368. writes in

  369. the Psalms

  370. we bring

  371. our years

  372. to an

  373. end like

  374. a sigh.

  375. The years

  376. of our

  377. life are

  378. seventy

  379. or even

  380. by reason

  381. of strength

  382. eighty

  383. yet their

  384. span is

  385. but toil

  386. and trouble

  387. they are

  388. soon gone

  389. and we

  390. fly away.

  391. The preacher

  392. tells us

  393. that even

  394. inanimate

  395. nature

  396. itself

  397. feels the

  398. futility

  399. of this

  400. repetition

  401. in verse

  402. 7.

  403. All

  404. streams

  405. run to

  406. the sea

  407. but the

  408. sea is

  409. not full.

  410. To the

  411. place where

  412. the streams

  413. flow

  414. there they

  415. flow

  416. again.

  417. Even

  418. the sea

  419. is constantly

  420. being filled

  421. but is

  422. never full

  423. it's never

  424. satisfied.

  425. Round

  426. and round

  427. and round

  428. emptying

  429. and filling

  430. emptying

  431. and filling

  432. and we

  433. know this

  434. is real

  435. don't we?

  436. We feel

  437. this

  438. inscrutable

  439. repetition

  440. in all

  441. that we

  442. do.

  443. Just think

  444. of the

  445. events that

  446. have shaped

  447. our lives

  448. the events

  449. that we

  450. remember

  451. events that

  452. children now

  453. can only

  454. learn about

  455. in a

  456. textbook

  457. the flight

  458. of the

  459. Concord

  460. the handing

  461. over of

  462. Hong Kong

  463. back to

  464. China

  465. September

  466. the 11th

  467. and those

  468. children

  469. will have

  470. the same

  471. conversations

  472. and the

  473. same

  474. elections

  475. and the

  476. same

  477. constant

  478. debating

  479. and the

  480. same

  481. problems

  482. to solve

  483. over and

  484. over.

  485. The

  486. constant

  487. search for

  488. the new

  489. is itself

  490. an ancient

  491. and much

  492. repeated

  493. search.

  494. Verse

  495. 10

  496. Is there a

  497. thing of

  498. which it

  499. is said

  500. see this

  501. is new

  502. it has

  503. been already

  504. in the

  505. ages before

  506. us.

  507. Now don't

  508. get the

  509. preacher wrong

  510. here he is

  511. not wearing

  512. Nike trainers

  513. is he

  514. and he has

  515. not written

  516. this on

  517. an iPad

  518. he is not

  519. saying that

  520. there will

  521. never be

  522. any

  523. inventions

  524. or

  525. technological

  526. advances

  527. but he

  528. is highlighting

  529. the absence

  530. of any

  531. real game

  532. that these

  533. inventions

  534. provide us.

  535. We often

  536. hear those

  537. words quoted

  538. in verse

  539. 10 don't

  540. we?

  541. See this

  542. is new

  543. we hear

  544. those words

  545. all the

  546. time

  547. every day

  548. a new

  549. car

  550. a new

  551. phone

  552. a new

  553. way of

  554. travel

  555. travel

  556. but the

  557. very

  558. repetition

  559. of that

  560. statement

  561. every day

  562. proves that

  563. even new

  564. things are

  565. not really

  566. new

  567. they are

  568. just updated

  569. versions of

  570. things that

  571. we already

  572. have

  573. looking for

  574. the genuinely

  575. new under

  576. the sun

  577. is an

  578. old

  579. mistake

  580. the man

  581. who thinks

  582. he has

  583. found something

  584. new

  585. is actually

  586. being

  587. something

  588. very

  589. old

  590. making

  591. the same

  592. old

  593. mistake

  594. of using

  595. the new

  596. to validate

  597. our repetitive

  598. existence

  599. people do

  600. that don't

  601. they

  602. I do

  603. that

  604. I love

  605. the pleasure

  606. of opening

  607. a new

  608. box

  609. of something

  610. that I've

  611. just bought

  612. even if it's

  613. just a table

  614. a table

  615. from Ikea

  616. last Friday

  617. and I love

  618. that feeling

  619. of opening

  620. the new

  621. smelling that

  622. fresh pine

  623. smell

  624. people record

  625. videos on

  626. YouTube

  627. of unboxing

  628. stuff

  629. don't they

  630. have you seen

  631. that

  632. the thrill

  633. of the new

  634. because somehow

  635. the new

  636. validates

  637. my existence

  638. it helps me

  639. feel like

  640. I'm breaking

  641. the repetition

  642. a new

  643. table

  644. but the

  645. preacher says

  646. Chris

  647. give me a

  648. break

  649. are you

  650. serious

  651. ideas

  652. technology

  653. fashions

  654. ways of

  655. ways of

  656. thinking

  657. the bad

  658. and the

  659. good

  660. will

  661. eventually

  662. disappear

  663. and reappear

  664. and disappear

  665. and reappear

  666. and the

  667. new

  668. things of

  669. today

  670. will be

  671. the

  672. forgotten

  673. things

  674. of

  675. tomorrow

  676. and they

  677. will be

  678. the

  679. hand-me-downs

  680. of another

  681. generation

  682. he says

  683. in verse

  684. 11

  685. there is no

  686. remembrance

  687. of former

  688. things

  689. nor will

  690. there be

  691. any

  692. remembrance

  693. of later

  694. things

  695. yet to

  696. be

  697. among

  698. those

  699. who

  700. come

  701. after

  702. amazingly

  703. the Bible

  704. tells us

  705. that even

  706. the works

  707. of God

  708. in this

  709. world

  710. can be

  711. forgotten

  712. by the

  713. next

  714. generation

  715. even

  716. the

  717. miracles

  718. of the

  719. plagues

  720. you know

  721. that famous

  722. story

  723. and the

  724. rescue

  725. of the

  726. Israelites

  727. those

  728. things

  729. were

  730. forgotten

  731. just a

  732. few

  733. generations

  734. later

  735. by a

  736. new

  737. pharaoh

  738. and a

  739. new

  740. generation

  741. of

  742. Egyptians

  743. because

  744. this

  745. world

  746. under

  747. the

  748. sun

  749. is

  750. simply

  751. an

  752. endless

  753. cycle

  754. of

  755. same

  756. old

  757. same

  758. old

  759. and so

  760. the

  761. preacher

  762. asks

  763. therefore

  764. what

  765. is

  766. the

  767. point

  768. what

  769. is

  770. the

  771. point

  772. really

  773. in

  774. verse

  775. three

  776. what's

  777. the

  778. point

  779. of

  780. toiling

  781. and

  782. achieving

  783. and

  784. developing

  785. in a

  786. repeated

  787. world

  788. with a

  789. fading

  790. people

  791. full of

  792. repeated

  793. things

  794. now do

  795. you see

  796. what the

  797. preacher

  798. is doing

  799. here

  800. as he

  801. shows us

  802. the reality

  803. of the

  804. world

  805. he is

  806. beginning

  807. to

  808. convince

  809. us

  810. that

  811. our

  812. love

  813. for

  814. change

  815. and the

  816. novel

  817. and the

  818. new

  819. is not

  820. the answer

  821. to our

  822. satisfaction

  823. problem

  824. we need

  825. to understand

  826. that there

  827. is no

  828. yellow brick

  829. road

  830. there is

  831. no end

  832. of the

  833. rainbow

  834. there is

  835. no

  836. somewhere

  837. else

  838. doing

  839. something

  840. else

  841. being

  842. something

  843. else

  844. there is

  845. no

  846. something

  847. truly

  848. new

  849. that is

  850. going to

  851. make you

  852. or me

  853. happy

  854. under the

  855. sun

  856. this is

  857. the genuine

  858. story of

  859. the world

  860. he says

  861. so stop

  862. believing

  863. and trusting

  864. in that

  865. old saying

  866. the old

  867. old thing

  868. see

  869. something

  870. new

  871. don't

  872. believe

  873. that

  874. don't

  875. trust in

  876. that

  877. to make

  878. you

  879. happy

  880. now

  881. we could

  882. be left

  883. thinking

  884. that our

  885. tour guide

  886. is just

  887. a depressive

  888. we've gone

  889. on around

  890. the world

  891. tour

  892. with

  893. Leonard

  894. Cohen

  895. but

  896. in his

  897. realism

  898. the preacher

  899. actually

  900. is the

  901. ultimate

  902. optimist

  903. about life

  904. because

  905. secondly

  906. and

  907. more

  908. briefly

  909. the second

  910. thing he

  911. says

  912. is

  913. listen to

  914. the joyful

  915. story

  916. there's a

  917. genuine

  918. story

  919. about the

  920. world

  921. but there

  922. is also

  923. joy

  924. in the

  925. world

  926. and

  927. this

  928. part

  929. of his

  930. message

  931. comes

  932. in

  933. another

  934. refrain

  935. that

  936. comes

  937. through

  938. ecclesiastes

  939. from time

  940. to time

  941. there is

  942. this

  943. life

  944. under the

  945. sun

  946. idea

  947. but there

  948. is also

  949. enjoyment

  950. under the

  951. sun

  952. which

  953. is a

  954. gift

  955. from

  956. God

  957. later

  958. in

  959. chapter

  960. 3

  961. verse

  962. 13

  963. he

  964. says

  965. everyone

  966. should

  967. eat

  968. and

  969. drink

  970. and

  971. take

  972. pleasure

  973. in

  974. all

  975. his

  976. toil

  977. this

  978. is

  979. God's

  980. gift

  981. to

  982. man

  983. seems

  984. contradictory

  985. doesn't

  986. it

  987. he's

  988. just

  989. said

  990. there is

  991. nothing

  992. to be

  993. gained

  994. from

  995. all

  996. of our

  997. toil

  998. under

  999. the

  1000. sun

  1001. and

  1002. now

  1003. he's

  1004. saying

  1005. actually

  1006. the

  1007. wise

  1008. person

  1009. can

  1010. live

  1011. under

  1012. the

  1013. sun

  1014. and

  1015. enjoy

  1016. themselves

  1017. this

  1018. is a

  1019. gift

  1020. from

  1021. God

  1022. and

  1023. the

  1024. truth

  1025. is

  1026. that

  1027. if

  1028. we

  1029. are

  1030. constantly

  1031. looking

  1032. for

  1033. change

  1034. if

  1035. we

  1036. think

  1037. that

  1038. we

  1039. can

  1040. break

  1041. from

  1042. this

  1043. repetition

  1044. in

  1045. the

  1046. world

  1047. and

  1048. in

  1049. our

  1050. lives

  1051. if

  1052. we

  1053. think

  1054. that

  1055. we

  1056. can

  1057. gain

  1058. something

  1059. by

  1060. our

  1061. changes

  1062. whatever

  1063. it

  1064. is

  1065. that

  1066. we

  1067. think

  1068. we've

  1069. gained

  1070. will

  1071. soon

  1072. disappear

  1073. and

  1074. we

  1075. will

  1076. disappear

  1077. along

  1078. with it

  1079. as

  1080. well

  1081. but

  1082. the

  1083. preacher

  1084. wants

  1085. us

  1086. to

  1087. see

  1088. that

  1089. part

  1090. of

  1091. real

  1092. living

  1093. in

  1094. the

  1095. world

  1096. is

  1097. seeing

  1098. that

  1099. and

  1100. understanding

  1101. the

  1102. true

  1103. limitations

  1104. of

  1105. this

  1106. life

  1107. seeing

  1108. that

  1109. one

  1110. day

  1111. we

  1112. will

  1113. be

  1114. forgotten

  1115. might

  1116. actually

  1117. put

  1118. a

  1119. wry

  1120. smile

  1121. on

  1122. our

  1123. face

  1124. if

  1125. the

  1126. genuine

  1127. truth

  1128. is

  1129. that

  1130. we

  1131. live

  1132. in

  1133. a

  1134. repetitive

  1135. world

  1136. there

  1137. in

  1138. lies

  1139. the

  1140. key

  1141. to

  1142. enjoying

  1143. that

  1144. world

  1145. he

  1146. tells

  1147. you

  1148. that

  1149. you

  1150. will

  1151. never

  1152. find

  1153. true

  1154. gain

  1155. under

  1156. the

  1157. sun

  1158. so

  1159. that

  1160. you

  1161. won't

  1162. have

  1163. to

  1164. to

  1165. enjoy

  1166. this

  1167. life

  1168. because

  1169. he

  1170. wants

  1171. us

  1172. to

  1173. desire

  1174. something

  1175. bigger

  1176. and

  1177. truer

  1178. and

  1179. deeper

  1180. those

  1181. enslaved

  1182. to

  1183. finding

  1184. gain

  1185. under

  1186. the

  1187. sun

  1188. will

  1189. never

  1190. find

  1191. it

  1192. but

  1193. enjoyment

  1194. comes

  1195. under

  1196. the

  1197. sun

  1198. when

  1199. we

  1200. know

  1201. we

  1202. don't

  1203. have

  1204. to

  1205. find

  1206. it

  1207. and

  1208. be

  1209. enslaved

  1210. to

  1211. it

  1212. when

  1213. we

  1214. know

  1215. that

  1216. we

  1217. can't

  1218. do

  1219. that

  1220. on

  1221. our

  1222. own

  1223. the

  1224. preacher

  1225. gives

  1226. us

  1227. reality

  1228. so

  1229. we

  1230. can

  1231. really

  1232. rejoice

  1233. and

  1234. this

  1235. we

  1236. will

  1237. see

  1238. as

  1239. we

  1240. go

  1241. through

  1242. Ecclesiastes

  1243. is

  1244. a

  1245. gift

  1246. from

  1247. God

  1248. not

  1249. something

  1250. that

  1251. we

  1252. can

  1253. strive

  1254. to

  1255. get

  1256. the

  1257. preacher

  1258. gives

  1259. us

  1260. reality

  1261. so

  1262. that

  1263. in

  1264. the

  1265. end

  1266. we

  1267. can

  1268. really

  1269. rejoice

  1270. this

  1271. is

  1272. a

  1273. gift

  1274. from

  1275. God

  1276. at

  1277. times

  1278. it's

  1279. going

  1280. to

  1281. be

  1282. a

  1283. painful

  1284. journey

  1285. maybe

  1286. it's

  1287. felt

  1288. like

  1289. that

  1290. this

  1291. afternoon

  1292. it's

  1293. going

  1294. to

  1295. be

  1296. hard

  1297. work

  1298. this

  1299. tour

  1300. of the

  1301. world

  1302. is

  1303. not

  1304. going

  1305. to

  1306. be

  1307. easy

  1308. and

  1309. it

  1310. may

  1311. take

  1312. a

  1313. while

  1314. for

  1315. us

  1316. to

  1317. understand

  1318. and

  1319. take

  1320. the

  1321. fruit

  1322. from

  1323. it

  1324. but

  1325. he

  1326. is

  1327. going

  1328. to

  1329. jar

  1330. us

  1331. into

  1332. seeing

  1333. reality

  1334. so

  1335. that

  1336. we

  1337. might

  1338. receive

  1339. the

  1340. gift

  1341. of

  1342. God

  1343. not

  1344. somewhere

  1345. else

  1346. doing

  1347. something

  1348. else

  1349. but

  1350. here

  1351. today

  1352. right

  1353. here

  1354. in

  1355. this

  1356. world

  1357. right

  1358. here

  1359. under

  1360. the

  1361. sun

  1362. let's

  1363. pray

  1364. together
