  1. We live in a confusing world, and I'm not talking about things like why people would want to eat asparagus or why little children refuse to take their afternoon naps when they give their left kidneys to have one when they hit their 30s.

  2. I'm talking about more serious things than that. You see, our culture tells you, be yourself, be true to who you really are, don't change, be the authentic you, but be a better you.

  3. You see, the US First Lady's signature campaign is called Be Best. Now, that could be anything. It can mean anything you want it to mean, and that's the point.

  4. Be a better person and be the best at something. Work harder to be better and be the better you that you already are.

  5. At the same time, you can see why there's a multi-billion dollar global industry that wants to help us to be a better you with all kinds of self-help advice, all manners of spirituality, to be more mature, more capable, more healthy, etc.

  6. Which, ironically, is having someone else tell you how to change. It's all very confusing, because it is contradictory.

  7. Do I need to change, do I need to change, or do I not?

  8. And Paul writes here to the Colossian church about this very question, and he tells them, you have to change if you're a Christian.

  9. But more than that, you are changed, because everything changes, because everything has changed, and that's not up for debate, but it's that why of the hell that we need to talk about.

  10. What's the background here? Well, he's writing to this church in Colossae, and he's writing to encourage them, and commend them, and warn them.

  11. Because there is some kind of heresy that they're being faced with, and that they're risking being drawn into, with false teachers telling them something, some kind of belief system, that we don't have all the detail of.

  12. But it seemed to involve some kind of seeking of spiritual maturity, through more spiritually advanced people accessing higher powers of some kind, or things above, that they called it, through worshipping angels.

  13. And at the same time, it seemed like they had all kinds of rules and procedures, things you had to do to become more mature.

  14. You know, you can see in chapter 2, verses 21 to 22, he kind of uses their language, it seems, he says, don't handle, don't taste, don't touch.

  15. So there's some kind of Jewish, syncretistic religion here going on.

  16. But the point is, and we don't have all the details, it seems like it's some kind of philosophy or religion that says, if you do this and do that, if you eat the right foods and abstain from doing that, if you're more spiritual than the next person and have the right insight,

  17. if you can gain access to the higher powers, then you will achieve true spirituality.

  18. This kind of change will give you heaven on earth.

  19. Does that sound familiar?

  20. Now there are many ways you can respond to that.

  21. The question is, what did Paul do here?

  22. And interestingly, for two chapters before we get to this passage that we just read, he's extolled Jesus Christ.

  23. See, the reason we don't know all the ins and outs of what this heresy involves is partly because Paul doesn't go blow by blow, point for point, and respond to it.

  24. Which may be a good thing for us to remember when we engage with the culture around us.

  25. But that's a sermon for another day.

  26. See, he tells them, let me tell you about the one who is more excellent than any so-called wise philosophy.

  27. The one who's done more excellent things than any good deeds.

  28. And there's much there.

  29. And we've got to remember, you know, he's writing to these people on parchment and scrolls that were expensive and scarce.

  30. There wasn't a Xerox machine that you could run off a whole book with.

  31. You had to make your words count.

  32. And he's done this for two chapters before we get here, telling them about Jesus Christ and how excellent he is.

  33. Let me just read you a bit from chapter 1.

  34. There's a very well-known bit from verse 15.

  35. He says, he's the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.

  36. For by him all things were created in heaven and on earth.

  37. Visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities.

  38. All things were created through him and for him.

  39. And he is before all things.

  40. And in him all things hold together.

  41. And he is the head of the body, the church.

  42. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.

  43. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell.

  44. And through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.

  45. How does Paul encourage the church in Colossal in this situation they face?

  46. He exalts Christ.

  47. He said, let's begin at the beginning.

  48. Not at your situation.

  49. Not the heretical philosophy of these false teachers.

  50. Let's begin at Christ, the head of the body, the church.

  51. If we're talking first principles for the best life, then let's start with the one who created and sustains all life.

  52. And then he says in chapter 2, verse 20, just before the passages that we read, he says,

  53. If you died with Christ in the things of this world, why do you think working on human understandings of how to be better will work?

  54. They appear wise, but they're self-made religions, and they're useless in stopping the sinful nature that is your real problem.

  55. Verse 23.

  56. See, that's where we pick it up.

  57. He says, if you've died with Christ, you're raised to life with him too.

  58. And that changes everything.

  59. The first thing that changes when we're raised to life with Christ, he says, is our perspective and our priorities.

  60. He says, it's not some abstract philosophical or spiritual idea that we should think about.

  61. It's a very concrete person that he wants us to focus about.

  62. When he addresses this heresy, he says, yes, there are more things in the world that we see.

  63. There are more important things in many ways, but the things above you're looking for is the one above.

  64. In Colossians, in chapter 3, verse 1, if then you've been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above where Christ is,

  65. seated at the right hand of God.

  66. Set your mind on things that are above, not on things that are on earth,

  67. for you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

  68. When Christ wears your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

  69. He turns the tables on these false teachers.

  70. Seek the things above, yes, affirming that there is more than just the things of this world,

  71. using their own phrase, but what they should really seek is the one above.

  72. The Christ who died, was raised from the dead, and is now seated at the right hand of God.

  73. But there's more to it than that, even.

  74. So you're now one with him.

  75. You realise that?

  76. You've been raised with Christ.

  77. Your life is hidden with Christ in God.

  78. When Christ, who is your life, appears, he says.

  79. If you're a believer in Christ, that is true for you as well.

  80. What is true for Christ is true for us.

  81. Because he lives, we live.

  82. Because he has his being in God, we have our being in God.

  83. Your existence, he says, is hidden in God.

  84. Safe, secure and untouchable by anyone.

  85. And that's why Paul starts by explaining who Christ is.

  86. And how we relate to him in his death and resurrection.

  87. Your perspective and priorities change because of the supreme excellence of the Saviour who died for you

  88. and now reigns at the right hand of the Father.

  89. But it doesn't just stay with perspective and priorities in this passage.

  90. This isn't some airy-fairy pie in the sky, head in the clouds change in perspective that he's talking about.

  91. Exactly the opposite.

  92. See, thinking upon Christ, he says,

  93. Having our being centered on him and our life from him has a very real effect on our actions and attitude.

  94. There is a dangerous line of thinking that Christians have to deal with more and more.

  95. Which even creeps into the church, influenced and strengthened by the world around us.

  96. It goes something like this.

  97. He says,

  98. If Christ accepts me as a sinner and loves me, I don't have to change how I live and what I do.

  99. And yes, it's absolutely true that God accepts us how we are.

  100. We can't ever bring anything to the table to be saved.

  101. And praise the Lord, that is true.

  102. Otherwise, none of us would be saved.

  103. None of us would be here.

  104. But the point Paul is making is that God doesn't want us to stay the way we are.

  105. We should never fall for that lie.

  106. And even if we tell that lie to ourselves, sometimes, maybe subtly,

  107. not in this kind of over-explicit way,

  108. but the things that we struggle with,

  109. that niggling sin that we just can't seem to get rid of,

  110. that can wait for another day.

  111. I think that's possibly the way that it plays out for us.

  112. And here's why it can't stay the way it is.

  113. He says,

  114. If we're united to Christ, as we've seen,

  115. there's no way that can happen.

  116. Notice the order that Paul does this in.

  117. He says,

  118. Since you've been raised with Christ,

  119. He is your life.

  120. And since your life is hidden,

  121. is secure with Him in God already,

  122. you will appear with Him in glory.

  123. These things are past realities

  124. that shape our present

  125. and will continue for all eternity.

  126. There is no way that we can stay the way we were

  127. if we will be appearing with Christ in glory.

  128. And he says,

  129. Be on that path of change

  130. to appear with Him in glory.

  131. And then he says,

  132. Now go and do these things.

  133. Change because you have been changed.

  134. Change is hard.

  135. And it needs to be so fundamental,

  136. so hard that Paul calls it

  137. putting to death sin.

  138. Notice how in verse 5

  139. he goes for the most intimate

  140. and most besetting,

  141. most secret sins in our lives very often.

  142. He says,

  143. Put to death therefore what is earthly in you,

  144. sexual immorality, impurity,

  145. passions, evil desire,

  146. and covetousness,

  147. which is idolatry.

  148. Now all of these have in common

  149. that they're placing our needs,

  150. our desires,

  151. our idea of what we're owed and want

  152. in place of focusing on Christ

  153. as the one who gives us our very lives.

  154. That's why he calls,

  155. he sums it up with,

  156. which is idolatry.

  157. We're worshipping something else.

  158. Ourselves.

  159. And in verse 8 he goes on

  160. and he says,

  161. you know,

  162. it's not just about

  163. your kind of internal sins,

  164. your internal things

  165. that need to change.

  166. This impacts our relationships

  167. with one another.

  168. And the external manifestation

  169. of that focus on ourselves.

  170. And he addresses all kinds of things

  171. about speech to one another.

  172. How we speak to and about one another.

  173. But then in verse 12

  174. is the positive command, isn't it?

  175. Take off these things,

  176. put to death these things,

  177. and put on,

  178. then,

  179. as God's chosen ones,

  180. holy and beloved,

  181. compassionate hearts,

  182. kindness,

  183. humility,

  184. meekness,

  185. and patience.

  186. Bearing with one another.

  187. And if one has a complaint

  188. against one another,

  189. forgiving each other,

  190. as the Lord has forgiven

  191. you,

  192. so you must also forgive.

  193. Put off the old way

  194. of doing things.

  195. Because you've put off

  196. the old self.

  197. Put on the new person,

  198. because in Christ

  199. you are a new person.

  200. Become in practice

  201. what you are

  202. in principle already.

  203. You know,

  204. I don't know if you've heard

  205. people say sometimes,

  206. dress for the job you want,

  207. not the one you have.

  208. You can't keep on dressing

  209. like the intern

  210. with the torn jeans

  211. if you want to be the CEO.

  212. Paul's saying,

  213. dress like the person

  214. you already are.

  215. Wear those attributes of God.

  216. Kindness and humility,

  217. patience,

  218. like the person

  219. united to Jesus,

  220. that you are.

  221. In Genesis 1

  222. we read how God

  223. makes people in his image.

  224. And we know

  225. what went wrong

  226. with the four.

  227. And here we have

  228. this remarkable phrase

  229. in verse 9.

  230. Not verse 9.

  231. Verse 10,

  232. where it says,

  233. you've put on the new self

  234. which has been renewed

  235. in knowledge

  236. after the image

  237. of its creator.

  238. Isn't that staggering?

  239. What went wrong

  240. with the four

  241. is being corrected

  242. every day

  243. in a Christian's life.

  244. As we put off

  245. this old self

  246. and put on

  247. the new self.

  248. And it feels hard.

  249. It doesn't feel that way

  250. every day

  251. when we battle

  252. the sin,

  253. when we lose

  254. our temper again.

  255. when we enjoy

  256. that off joke

  257. at work

  258. slightly too much

  259. or something like that.

  260. But don't give up.

  261. There is a finality

  262. to this.

  263. He says,

  264. put off all of these things

  265. once and for all

  266. and once you've come

  267. to faith in Christ,

  268. sin never has

  269. the same power over you

  270. as it has before.

  271. But there's an ongoing

  272. nature to it too.

  273. we must continue

  274. putting off sin.

  275. We must continue

  276. seeking more and more

  277. to be like Christ.

  278. I don't know

  279. if you saw

  280. the HMS

  281. Queen Elizabeth

  282. on a new aircraft carrier

  283. set sail for America

  284. this week

  285. on a kind of

  286. main and Atlantic voyage.

  287. It's a fantastic ship.

  288. But when it needs

  289. to turn around

  290. it doesn't happen

  291. in a moment.

  292. It takes a while.

  293. But when it starts

  294. to turn

  295. it turns.

  296. And you don't want

  297. to be a sailboat

  298. that gets in the way

  299. of that ship

  300. turning.

  301. And if you're sitting

  302. here tonight

  303. discouraged about

  304. something that you're

  305. struggling with

  306. that you've been

  307. struggling with

  308. maybe for years

  309. maybe all your life

  310. some kind of sin

  311. that maybe someone

  312. doesn't even

  313. someone else

  314. doesn't even know about

  315. take courage

  316. from this.

  317. Your change

  318. to the person

  319. that will appear

  320. with Christ in glory

  321. is more powerful

  322. than that ship

  323. turning around

  324. and is done

  325. by God himself.

  326. You see

  327. Paul is not

  328. trying to rebuke

  329. these Christians

  330. in Colossae

  331. and I'm not

  332. I'm not trying

  333. to do that

  334. tonight either.

  335. Take heart

  336. and be encouraged.

  337. God is doing

  338. a great work

  339. in you

  340. but we will only

  341. see the result

  342. of finally

  343. when he returns

  344. in glory.

  345. See here's how

  346. John Owen

  347. writes about it.

  348. He says

  349. set faith

  350. at work

  351. on Christ

  352. for the killing

  353. of thy sin.

  354. His blood

  355. is the great

  356. sovereign remedy

  357. for sin sick

  358. souls.

  359. Live in this

  360. and thou

  361. will die

  362. a conqueror.

  363. Yeah thou wilt.

  364. Through the good

  365. providence of God

  366. live to see

  367. thy lust dead

  368. at thy feet.

  369. We all look forward

  370. to that.

  371. But there's more

  372. to it than

  373. that needs to change

  374. Paul says.

  375. It's not just

  376. our perspective

  377. and priorities

  378. or our actions

  379. and attitudes

  380. it's our very

  381. identity

  382. and ideology

  383. that changes.

  384. You see

  385. in a few places

  386. we've read some

  387. pretty fundamental

  388. things

  389. about who

  390. we should

  391. think

  392. we are.

  393. In verse 4

  394. he says

  395. Christ who

  396. is your

  397. life?

  398. Verse 9

  399. put off the

  400. old self.

  401. Verse 10

  402. you've put on

  403. the new self.

  404. And then

  405. verse 11

  406. here there is

  407. not

  408. Greek

  409. and Jew

  410. circumcised

  411. and uncircumcised

  412. barbarians

  413. in the slave

  414. free

  415. but Christ

  416. is all

  417. and in all

  418. and he's

  419. talking about

  420. the body

  421. of Christ.

  422. You see

  423. it's so

  424. fundamental

  425. this change

  426. that happens

  427. when you

  428. come to

  429. faith in

  430. Christ

  431. when you're

  432. united to

  433. Christ by

  434. faith.

  435. That all

  436. of these

  437. human

  438. distinctions

  439. all of

  440. these human

  441. divisions

  442. very often

  443. that cause

  444. so much

  445. difficulty

  446. and so much

  447. discord

  448. in the world

  449. that we live

  450. in fall

  451. away.

  452. He's covering

  453. everything

  454. Jew and

  455. Gentile

  456. those who

  457. have the

  458. promise of

  459. Abraham

  460. and those

  461. who didn't

  462. cultured

  463. people and

  464. uncultured

  465. those who

  466. are masters

  467. and those

  468. who serve

  469. those with

  470. social status

  471. and those

  472. who didn't

  473. have any

  474. social status

  475. any value

  476. in society.

  477. Now of course

  478. all distinctions

  479. between human

  480. beings

  481. all the rich

  482. diversity

  483. that God

  484. created us

  485. in

  486. doesn't

  487. immediately

  488. disappear

  489. and won't

  490. disappear

  491. and that's

  492. a great

  493. thing

  494. but it

  495. propels

  496. into

  497. insignificance

  498. he's arguing

  499. compared to

  500. the very

  501. source of

  502. our new

  503. lives

  504. the very

  505. core of

  506. our identity

  507. being a

  508. new creation

  509. in Christ

  510. those things

  511. don't define

  512. us primarily

  513. now you

  514. may ask

  515. why is

  516. this all

  517. that strange

  518. even

  519. if we

  520. know the

  521. culture

  522. around us

  523. get their

  524. identity

  525. from these

  526. things

  527. and what

  528. people do

  529. in a city

  530. like London

  531. one of the

  532. primary

  533. things

  534. that defines

  535. you

  536. we know

  537. mostly

  538. that that's

  539. not true

  540. why does

  541. Paul put

  542. so much

  543. emphasis

  544. on it

  545. you see

  546. it's relevant

  547. for us

  548. I think

  549. because he's

  550. not writing

  551. to a church

  552. that is

  553. struggling

  554. they've not

  555. bought into

  556. this false

  557. teaching

  558. it wouldn't

  559. seem

  560. here's how

  561. he describes

  562. them in the

  563. letter

  564. in chapter

  565. 1 verse

  566. 4 he

  567. says

  568. we've

  569. heard of

  570. your

  571. faith

  572. in

  573. Christ

  574. Jesus

  575. and of

  576. the love

  577. that you

  578. have for

  579. all the

  580. saints

  581. chapter 2

  582. verse 5

  583. he said

  584. though I'm

  585. absent in

  586. body

  587. yet I am

  588. with you

  589. in spirit

  590. rejoicing to

  591. see your

  592. good order

  593. and the

  594. firmness of

  595. your faith

  596. in Christ

  597. chapter 2

  598. verse 8

  599. see that no

  600. one takes

  601. you captive

  602. by philosophy

  603. and empty

  604. deceit

  605. according to

  606. human tradition

  607. according to

  608. the elemental

  609. spirits of

  610. the world

  611. and not

  612. according to

  613. Christ

  614. implication being

  615. they've not

  616. been taken

  617. captive by

  618. these things

  619. yet

  620. and even

  621. just in

  622. this passage

  623. that we

  624. read

  625. they have

  626. God's

  627. chosen ones

  628. holy and

  629. beloved

  630. and let's not

  631. forget those

  632. words spoken

  633. of Christ

  634. in the

  635. New Testament

  636. and Israel

  637. in the Old

  638. Testament

  639. so that's a

  640. good reference

  641. from the

  642. apostle Paul

  643. for a

  644. church

  645. if a

  646. church

  647. got a

  648. letter

  649. from

  650. Paul

  651. giving them

  652. an appraisal

  653. this is about

  654. as good

  655. as you can

  656. expect

  657. this is not

  658. as good

  659. as they

  660. come

  661. this isn't

  662. the

  663. Corinthian

  664. church

  665. or the

  666. Galatian

  667. church

  668. where Paul

  669. is very

  670. direct

  671. in addressing

  672. their

  673. immorality

  674. their

  675. divisions

  676. or even

  677. their

  678. downright

  679. racism

  680. we need

  681. to be

  682. reminded

  683. of this

  684. ourselves

  685. because

  686. day to

  687. day

  688. it's very

  689. easy to

  690. be influenced

  691. by the

  692. world

  693. around us

  694. in our

  695. thinking

  696. about

  697. who

  698. we

  699. are

  700. just

  701. like

  702. this

  703. commended

  704. church

  705. in Colossum

  706. needed to

  707. be

  708. reminded

  709. of this

  710. and were

  711. at risk

  712. of finding

  713. their identity

  714. in something

  715. the exclusivity

  716. of this

  717. spiritual realm

  718. that they were

  719. able to

  720. access

  721. it's not

  722. even that

  723. our identity

  724. primarily can

  725. come from

  726. being members

  727. of IPC

  728. healing

  729. but it

  730. must be

  731. that we're

  732. members of

  733. the body

  734. of this

  735. one living

  736. saviour

  737. reigning

  738. and ruling

  739. over all

  740. things

  741. at the

  742. right hand

  743. of the

  744. father

  745. the head

  746. of this

  747. body

  748. Jesus

  749. Christ

  750. here's

  751. we've seen

  752. our perspective

  753. and priorities

  754. our actions

  755. and attitudes

  756. and our

  757. identity

  758. and ideology

  759. change

  760. when we're

  761. raised to

  762. life with

  763. Christ

  764. but of

  765. all of

  766. these things

  767. I think

  768. the last

  769. one is

  770. maybe the

  771. most

  772. difficult

  773. and our

  774. identity

  775. and ideology

  776. influence so

  777. much of

  778. what we do

  779. on a day

  780. to day

  781. basis

  782. our actions

  783. unthinkingly

  784. even flows

  785. from those

  786. things

  787. so that

  788. church in

  789. Colossal

  790. with a

  791. glowing report

  792. from Paul

  793. needs to

  794. hear this

  795. maybe we

  796. need to be

  797. reminded of

  798. our common

  799. identity in

  800. Christ as

  801. well

  802. here's a

  803. question

  804. when you're

  805. asked to

  806. describe

  807. yourself

  808. to someone

  809. what is

  810. the first

  811. thing that

  812. comes to

  813. mind

  814. is it

  815. that you're

  816. a redeemed

  817. saved

  818. child of

  819. God

  820. united to

  821. Christ

  822. by faith

  823. I don't

  824. think I

  825. would always

  826. start off

  827. with that

  828. if I had

  829. to write

  830. a short

  831. blurb

  832. about

  833. myself

  834. and it

  835. can be

  836. subtle

  837. it can be

  838. subtle

  839. even at

  840. church

  841. how easy

  842. is it to

  843. only speak

  844. to the

  845. people we

  846. know

  847. the people

  848. we know

  849. we've got

  850. something in

  851. common

  852. with

  853. put on

  854. the old

  855. self

  856. Paul says

  857. put on

  858. the new

  859. self

  860. and that

  861. happens

  862. he tells

  863. us in

  864. verse 15

  865. by letting

  866. the peace

  867. of Christ

  868. rule in

  869. your hearts

  870. to which

  871. indeed you

  872. were called

  873. in one

  874. body

  875. and be

  876. thankful

  877. and let

  878. the word

  879. of Christ

  880. dwell in

  881. you richly

  882. teaching and

  883. admonishing

  884. one another

  885. in all

  886. wisdom

  887. singing

  888. psalms

  889. hymns

  890. and spiritual

  891. songs

  892. with

  893. thankfulness

  894. in your

  895. hearts

  896. to God

  897. isn't it

  898. spectacular

  899. that even

  900. when Paul

  901. calls us

  902. to actively

  903. work towards

  904. Christ

  905. likeness

  906. where

  907. Christ's

  908. image

  909. supersedes

  910. our own

  911. that

  912. Christ's

  913. word

  914. does the

  915. work

  916. isn't

  917. that

  918. grace

  919. upon

  920. grace

  921. see we

  922. can do

  923. this work

  924. because he

  925. does the

  926. work

  927. but we

  928. need each

  929. other to

  930. do this

  931. the church

  932. this church

  933. every Sunday

  934. when we're

  935. together here

  936. models

  937. this very

  938. new humanity

  939. that he's

  940. talking about

  941. and in this

  942. church

  943. in this very

  944. church

  945. we have

  946. English

  947. people

  948. Welsh

  949. people

  950. Americans

  951. Iranians

  952. Canadiens

  953. South

  954. Africans

  955. and and

  956. and

  957. if I give

  958. a number

  959. of how many

  960. nationalities

  961. we have

  962. I probably

  963. have it

  964. wrong

  965. there are

  966. many

  967. we've got

  968. families and

  969. single people

  970. old and

  971. young

  972. wealthy and

  973. not wealthy

  974. people

  975. powerful people

  976. and struggling

  977. people

  978. every Sunday

  979. we model

  980. the fact

  981. here together

  982. that we're

  983. putting on

  984. that old

  985. self

  986. and putting

  987. on the

  988. new self

  989. and change

  990. is hard

  991. fundamental

  992. hard change

  993. is very

  994. hard

  995. identity

  996. change

  997. is incredibly

  998. hard

  999. identity

  1000. theft

  1001. it seems

  1002. it's much

  1003. easier

  1004. but this

  1005. is how

  1006. we manage

  1007. to change

  1008. in such

  1009. a way

  1010. that we

  1011. do

  1012. everything

  1013. we do

  1014. as Paul

  1015. calls us

  1016. to do

  1017. whether

  1018. word or

  1019. deed

  1020. for Christ

  1021. by Christ's

  1022. own word

  1023. changing us

  1024. by being

  1025. encouraged

  1026. through our

  1027. singing

  1028. together

  1029. singing

  1030. psalms

  1031. hymns

  1032. and spiritual

  1033. songs

  1034. and teaching

  1035. and admonishment

  1036. and encouraging

  1037. each other

  1038. to remember

  1039. what he's

  1040. done

  1041. for

  1042. and in

  1043. and through

  1044. us

  1045. every Sunday

  1046. how often

  1047. do we think

  1048. about it

  1049. like that

  1050. when we

  1051. get up

  1052. to sing

  1053. there's

  1054. much more

  1055. going on

  1056. there

  1057. than singing

  1058. words

  1059. of the page

  1060. let us

  1061. keep

  1062. encouraging

  1063. and admonishing

  1064. one another

  1065. to put on

  1066. that new

  1067. self

  1068. day after

  1069. day

  1070. doing

  1071. everything

  1072. for Christ

  1073. and looking

  1074. forward to

  1075. appearing

  1076. with him

  1077. in glory

  1078. amen
