Let's pray. Dear Father God, the church is a place where we can
-
open the Bible and we can tackle deep things. You've said, Come now,
-
let us reason together, says the Lord. Nobody here has all the
-
answers, But we've been told that we're supposed to open the book. We're
-
supposed to study it and pray for the Holy Spirit to lead us into truth.
-
Now we are living at the end of time, Lord, I mean
-
people who aren't paying attention to news and realize that we're as close to nuclear
-
exchange since the end of the Cold War, and that this world is shaky,
-
and what we have enjoyed as religious freedom will one day be gone.
-
And so Father, you've moved on my heart to open Daniel eleven, the
-
most difficult chapter in the Book of Daniel, and to have a study with
-
the church today. May we not go bored because it's hard, open our
-
bibles and engage so we can be a found worthy of rightly dividing the Word
-
of God Jesus name, Amen, you kind of know what I'm going to
-
preach about today, and I actually teach preach because my goal today is to
-
show you the Gospel and the greatest attack to the gospel in the Book of
-
Daniel, and Jesus told us we needed to. And the title of the
-
messages Tidings from the East and the North, taken from Daniel eleven. The
-
scripture that you read just beautifully. Thank you, very proud of that.
-
Who was the one I read the verse today? Yeah, that's what I
-
thought. I thought, was you I got it? Yeah, you'll be
-
a preacher one day or something. No, Emmanuel, you did, Yeah,
-
No, I was thinking. Also the Sabbath school where you read up
-
there, both of you, two of you read that. You read the
-
scripture reading, but you read in the children's story, right, okay,
-
click, but you can read and you can read too, Emmanuel, thank
-
you so much. The title of the message is Tidings from the East and
-
the North. It has been said that bad news travels at the speed of
-
light, and that good news travels like molasses. Is that true? It
-
is? Why, because there's something in human nature wants to dwell on bad
-
news, and we want it as quick asly as we can get it.
-
The whole news network out there, that news networks are fashioned on the idea
-
get as much bad news as quick as you can. The ratings go up,
-
but sometimes we have a hard time latching onto the good news when it
-
comes into our lives. Now, the Bible is about good news. There
-
is bad news in it too, but not for the Christian there's good news.
-
The young Jewish girl Anne Frank, who died in nineteen forty five at
-
the end of the Jewish Holocaust, believe that every person is full of an
-
amazing potential that is fundamentally good news. She wrote this in her optimistic diary
-
and I have it on the screen. Everyone has inside of him a piece
-
of good news. The good news is that you don't know how great you
-
can be, how much you can love, what you can accomplish, and
-
what your potential is. Now I mean this little girl struggle to stay alive
-
in World War Two. She died in nineteen forty five. They found them
-
hiding in their home. She is a victim of a holocaust, and yet
-
in the midst of her suffering, she could say, guess what, there's
-
something good inside of us. Let's lean on the good I believe that little
-
girl is going to be in the King of God and Frank. In the
-
Bible, it is revealed by the prophets that there is in sight of God
-
himself, an amazing potential beyond any human potential we possess. Because God has
-
an infinite potential, an infinite capacity to love us in his eternal nature and
-
power. We ever wrapped your heart around that God can love you infinitely,
-
and He can love every single being is vast domain infinitely. And yet,
-
as sinners that is not obvious to us, we have no idea just how
-
good God is inside of him self towards us in Christ. Unless Jesus is
-
the light that shows us exactly who God is. Why do we need Christ?
-
Why do we need Christ as God? Because we cannot come to the
-
Father Unless Christ is God. With us Emanuel, we would never know the
-
unseen Father. No creed being can reveal the character of God. In the
-
Old Testament, God told Moses that his name is I am who I am
-
the Lord Yahweh Jehovah. It means the same thing, I am who I
-
am God, And in fact is when you look at the ten Commandments,
-
I am the Lord your God who, and then it gives you the content
-
of I am as the ten God is his character, that is his name,
-
who he is. God is, Love has ever been, ever will
-
be. I am who I am. In Christ latches onto that language in
-
the Old Testament, he applies it to himself and the Gospel of John.
-
He says, I am the Good Shepherd. He says, I am the
-
life of the world. I am the Bread of life. I am the
-
Way, the truth of life. I am the Son of Man, the
-
God. No one comes to the Father, but through me, I and
-
my Father are one. These kinds of statements are rightly understood with the Rabbis
-
to be blasphemy, because you make who are a man, make yourself out
-
to be God. They got it. C. S. Lewis calls it
-
the shocking alternative. Christ is either God or he's not. He's right.
-
No one comes to the Father, but through me, I and my Father
-
are one. And he told Philip that if you see me, you have
-
seen what the Father. In the New Testament, the content of God's holy
-
character is that I am who I am God. Yeah, way, Jehovah's
-
finally revealed in Jesus Christ, who is himself the good news of the Gospel
-
of God. You see, if God is a bad guy, if God's
-
character is rotten, then who wants to know God. Let's get as far
-
away from him as we possibly can. But when Christ came to this world,
-
we finally see that our God is a beautiful God, that our God
-
is a loving God, that the authority of Christ. When you look into
-
the eyes of Christ, you see the Father. Jesus says. We would
-
never know God as a God of love, and we would never know who
-
he is in his character unless Jesus Christ came to show us, to demonstrate
-
to us his magnificent character and law of love, and to die for our
-
sins, to save us without setting aside one single precept of his holy law
-
of justice and mercy, without violating his character, he saves us. The
-
Gospel prophet Isaiah proclaimed that God's name, that is God's character, God's law
-
is revealed in the good News of the Gospel that concerns Jesus Christ, the
-
Gospel of Peace. He is the Gospel prophet. Open your Bible's turn to
-
Isaiah fifty two, verse six. Isaiah, who's a foretaste of Paul Paul's
-
theology of justification by faith in beca Romans is coming from Isaiah. Isaiah fifty
-
two is part of that as it works into the outward of the exposition of
-
Christ as the Lamb of God. Therefore my people shall know my name,
-
now God's name, God's laws, same thing, God's character, that's his
-
name. I am who I am. Therefore in that day they shall know
-
that is I who speak. Here am I Now what kind of I am?
-
Who I am God? We worship? We worship, and I am
-
who I am kind of God? Who says, I am here. See
-
I'm not so far out there that I can't be in your life. I
-
am and I am here kind of God. And I reveal my name by
-
coming into your life. Now look at the next verse. How beautiful upon
-
the mountains are the feet of him who brings good tidings, good news.
-
That's the Gospel, who publishes peace, who brings good tidings of good who
-
publish a salvation, who says, des I and your God reigns. We
-
worship, and I am here, I am who I am kind of God.
-
And when we have Jesus in their life, we know what that means.
-
We could see the Father in the eyes of Jesus. The good news,
-
friends, is beautiful because God's character, that is, God's law,
-
is revealed in the life the death and the resurrection, the ministry, the
-
coming to earth of Jesus Christ. So I'm not ashamed of the gospel.
-
You know, some people say, pastor mine in fact is I was in
-
a place many years ago where they thought I'd preach Jesus too much. Can
-
you believe that? I mean, I gotta, I gotta. One of
-
my administrators called me in preaching Jesus too much in the pulpit, and then
-
they said preaching prophecy too much too. Now, the funny thing is is
-
that prophecy is the testimony of Jesus. I mean, my goodness, I
-
want Jesus. I want Jesus and my whole Bible from Genesis to Revelation.
-
But don't ask me to cut my Bible out and throw away Jesus and the
-
person who shares the good news. The Bible says, his feet are beautiful
-
upon the mountain, how beautiful in the mountain of the fee of the one
-
who has good news. You know whose feet were nailed at the top of
-
Mount Calvary. It was Jesus's feet. Because Christ brought the good news to
-
this earth. He is the good news now. In the Book of Daniel,
-
Jesus appears in every single chapter. Some people don't realize this. And
-
Daniel one he is the Lord who allowed his nation to go into captivity and
-
to Babylon to discipline them for their horrible sins. And Daniel two he's the
-
what you know, He's the He's the rock cut out of them mountain at
-
the end of time, the Tarah Kingdom, the king rock that comes and
-
smites the image. And Daniel three he's the fourth person in the what in
-
the fire and it shows that he goes through the fire with us in life
-
and Daniel and Daniel four he is the watcher who comes down, who softens
-
Nebbi Kannezzar's heart, who passes judgment on him. And Daniel five he is
-
the unseen watcher who writes on the wall the final judgment of Babylon, Holy
-
Spirit hand, Christ's hand, the word of God on the wall opposite the
-
lambstand Jesus, the lad of the world. And Daniel six he's the Angel
-
of the Lord, who is the Lord in the lions den who will later
-
be called the lie. I have a tribe of Judah facing down to lions,
-
so Daniel will be okay. And Daniel seven he is the son of
-
Man who goes to the judgment in our beff to receive his kingdom for us
-
just before the second Coming. And Daniel late he is the wonderful certain one
-
the Hebrew would say, who knows the future, who is the mighty man
-
who appears to Daniels, the Prince of the Host who dies for the world
-
at the end of Daniel Late as the Prince of princes, he's the hero.
-
And Daniel nine he is the Messiah, prince cut off killed for his
-
people in the mighty flood of sin and woe. And Daniel ten he's the
-
man in Lenin who has a white robe of righteousness for all of us who
-
have no righteousness. And Daniel eleven he is the Prince of the Covenant verse
-
twenty two, swept away by the flood of the King of the North at
-
the cross, the Roman King of the North. And Daniel twelve he is
-
Michael, the great Prince who watches over God's people in every age, who
-
resurrects the dead at the end of the age, which means Michael has to
-
be God can't resurrect, deliver unless you are life, unless you have life
-
unborrowed underived, who is who's also the man in Linen and Daniel twelve,
-
who stands over the waters as the guardian protector of God's people in every age,
-
who ends the persecutions of the Middle Ages, who opens the Book of
-
Daniel at the time of the End, who brings a rise to the great
-
Advent movement in that prophecy around the year eighteen forty four. Like the book
-
Revelation, Let's not miss it, the Book of Daniel is a revelation of
-
Jesus Christ. We've been told that when the Book of Daniel is rightly understood,
-
there will be a revival among God's people and a whole new religious experience.
-
And Matthew twenty four, Jesus told us that the end will come one
-
day when this gospel goes to the whole world as a final witness to the
-
nations. In Matthew twenty four, Christ on the Mount of Olives, just
-
before he dies, is talking about the end that comes after the time of
-
the End and the end that comes after the fall of Jerusalem. He merges
-
them, and he's working off of Daniel eleven to twelve. In Daniel nine,
-
he's describing events that would happen with the destruction of Jerusalem, but also
-
at the very end of time. So we have to study to know the
-
difference and know how to integrate them. But Matthew twenty four thirteen to fifteen
-
has two applications. The Gospel went to the world in the days of the
-
apostles, and the Gospel goes to the world at the time of the end.
-
Let's read it verse thirteen. But he who endures to the end,
-
what does it say in your bible? So are you looking at it so
-
well he might be saved? Is that what it says in your Bible?
-
What does it say he will be saved? Is that the language of certainty.
-
I don't know about you. I don't like coming to church to have
-
someone made me feel like I can't be saved. How many of you know
-
that you struggle with sin in your life every now and then? You in
-
that camp, okay, the preachers in that camp. We all struggle with
-
faults of character. We fall short of the globe of God. And I
-
need to know that when I surrender to Christ and I say, Lord,
-
make me willing to be willing, because my nature struggles against God's law.
-
Like Romans seven says that if I have faith in Christ, I hang in
-
there with Christ, I will be saved. I'm in that club of will
-
be saved kind of people because of Jesus. Are you in the club?
-
Raise your hand? So what does it mean? Though? It means that
-
if you don't give up on Jesus, God will save you, and Jesus
-
will not give up on you, period. So why would anyone in their
-
sane religious theological mind choose to give up on Jesus Verse fourteen. And this
-
Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world as a testimony,
-
a legal testimony to all nations. And then what does the text say?
-
Then the end will come. Now, friend, let's think about this.
-
Jesus isn't coming just because things get bad. So, oh, the world's
-
getting so bad, Jesus coming. Well, no, that's not why he's
-
coming. Jesus is in coming because we want him to come and we're impatient.
-
Oh, I don't know how I can make another day. Jesus is
-
coming. Jesus isn't coming now, hear me on this one. Because a
-
final generation arrives at some glorious perfection that forces God's hand to make Jesus come.
-
Christ doesn't come for those reasons. According to Jesus, and Jesus is
-
the expert of theology. Jesus is coming when the whole world here's the Gospel,
-
the good news about salvation and Jesus, when mercy goes to the planet,
-
when every nation, kindred, tribe, and tongue has a chance to
-
hear the good news, and then and only then does Jesus come. So
-
what business should we be in. We should be in the sharing the good
-
news business instead of brow beating people about how imperfect they are. Now I
-
believe in Christian perfection. Are you hearing me? But I believe it's in
-
Jesus, and it's given to me as a gift. And the more I
-
dwell on it, the less I dwell on Jesus. So we should dwell
-
on Jesus and grow up into the fullness and statue of Christ. So as
-
soon as Jesus shares the good news, he immediately points us back to the
-
Book of Daniel to better understand the primary challenge to the Gospel at the time
-
of the end. Now look at verse fifteen, falling with me Matthew twenty
-
four. So when you see the desolating sacrilege spoken of by Daniel, the
-
prophet standing in the Holy place. Let the reader understand, now what book
-
is Jesus saying we need to understand? Can we say it loudly? Does
-
Jesus goof up now? If he's talking to us with the Gospel going to
-
the world at the time of the end, do we need to say,
-
Jesus, I am tired of the Book of Daniel. No, we should
-
study it, shouldn't we? Do you realize that if Jesus is speaking to
-
us, the Holy Spirit is speaking to us to open our bibles and understand
-
prophetic truth. So Danil nine, the abomination of desolation appears after Jesus dies
-
and after the temple in Jerusalem is destroyed. Its context according to Bible prophecy
-
in Daniel and I and Jesus died in the year eighty thirty one, and
-
we know that Jerusalem fell in a d seventy. These are facts of history
-
that means the abomination of desolation follow me here in the Book of Daniel comes
-
after jesus death, burial, and resurrection, which is the gospel. Because
-
Christ is saying it's coming later. I mean great theologian types will tell you
-
the abomination of desolation is Antiochus the Epiphanies who lived in second century BC,
-
and all that. It doesn't work. Jesus died for our sins. That's
-
the gospel first and most important truth. He was buried to take away our
-
sins from us. The second truth of the gospel, he rose from the
-
dead for our justification Romans for twenty five, which means our legal acquittal.
-
That's a lawyer term, our personal acceptance before God, our forgiveness, not
-
guilty. The resurrection means that. So the death, the burial, and
-
the resurrection of Jesus is the gospel. The gospel shows the love of God,
-
and the abomination of desolation in the Book of Daniel is the great attack
-
on the gospel that comes after the ministry of Jesus, not before it.
-
Yeah, I've seen theologians arguing about, you know, the abomination of desolation
-
of the Daniel second century. Don't they just read Jesus and get to the
-
right answers. You know, Now, go back to Dayil nine, twenty
-
six, twenty seven. Let's look at this in the context. Like I
-
said, our sermons, a Bible study today. I want you to be
-
opening those Bibles of yours. Daniel Levin, We're gonna be kind of landing
-
in it. Nine twenty six and after sixty two weeks Messiah shall be cut
-
off, but not for himself. What does that mean? The Messiah dies
-
and the people of the prince who is to come. That could be understood
-
three ways. The prince of this world is coming, Christ said the devil.
-
It could be the Roman prince, it could be Christ himself. The
-
truth is it's all three in a way that the people are the people of
-
Israel. They came under Satan's power, they were attacked by the Romans,
-
and Christ was their prince that they gave up. So it doesn't matter.
-
All three work. Then the people of the Prince who was to come shall
-
destroy the city in the sanctuary. That's eighty seventy. The end of it
-
will be with the flood. The Hebrew can read his end will be with
-
the flood. You go either way. Both are true. The Messiah be
-
swept away like a flood. The city be swept away like a flood.
-
Until the end of the war, desolations are determined, decreed. Then he
-
shall confirm a covenant literally mighty Man a covenant with many for one week,
-
but in the middle of the week he shall bring an end to sacrifice and
-
offering. The last seven years of the seventy week prophecy, Christ dies for
-
our sins and on the wing of abominations. Now notice this, see as
-
soon as Christ dies for our sins, it says, on the wing of
-
abominations shall be one who makes desolate, even until the consummation, which is
-
determined as port out in the desolate and the words, Danio says, the
-
abomination of desolation follows the cross. Jesus is working off of that in Matthew
-
twenty four. So at Tacus Epiphanies doesn't work. Friends, Jesus dies for
-
our sins in eighty thirty one in the spring. But forty years after Jesus
-
died, the city of Jerusalem was destroyed in eighty seventy and the Fall.
-
Josephus tells us it was forty years before that that the Great Stone Lentel broke
-
that had the veil of the temple. And so we can plug in Daniel's
-
dates with historical corroboration. The abombination of desolation is always an attack on God's
-
people and the Gospel in every age. That's what the Book of Daniel teaches
-
us. As soon as you have Jesus and the Cross, you have the
-
abomination of desolation and starts destroying things. Jesus said that we need to understand
-
these things because the abomination of desolation will be the great thing that we will
-
encounter at the time of the end. So I affirmed, the Gospel is
-
beautiful, but the abomination is ugly. The Gospel gives us eternal life.
-
The abomination of desolation destroys death. So in Danie eleven we see the abomination
-
of desolation again outside of Daniel nine, as the great attack on the work
-
of Jesus Christ, after Jesus came to this earth to die for our sins.
-
The prophecy of the King of the North and the King of the South.
-
How many have you have studied the King of the North, King of
-
the South and your Bible of Danie eleven. Oh, you got to get
-
into angels and the Glen dot Org and let John walk you through that.
-
With the overview of Daniel eleven. Do you realize we're living in Daniel eleven,
-
verse forty today we're living right there, getting ready to move into verse
-
forty one, and most Seventh day Abns Christians don't have a clue what's going
-
on Danie eleven because they don't stay to their Bibles. Let's get into the
-
Bibles. The prophecy of the King of the North, King of the South
-
and Daniel eleven is actually an exposition of the twenty three hundred year prophecy of
-
Daniel eighth fourteen that reaches to the time of the End. So we have
-
a prophecy that goes from Persia to the time of the End to Christ's coming,
-
all in one chapter, a single chapter. It starts in Danil ten
-
twenty one and Daniel eleven one to two with Michael the Great Prince and the
-
Book of Truth, when Gabriel became a helper for dry Us the meat in
-
the early days of the meat of Persian Empire. Take your Bible's turn down
-
ten twenty one. But I will tell you what is inscribed in the Book
-
of Truth. Now, Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth
-
and the Life. Now Gabriel said, I'm going to tell you it's in
-
the Book of Truth, the Book of Truth. It's Christ Christ knows the
-
future. There is none who contends or who holds to me literally with these
-
things against these forces, except Michael, your prince. So who's the one
-
that defends the truth better than anyone else? Grant that verse Michael Daniel eleven
-
one, and ask for me. In the first year of derive us the
-
meat I stood up to and confirm and strengthen him. And now I'll show
-
you the truth. Behold, three more kings shall arise in Persia, and
-
a fourth shall be far richer than all of them. And when he has
-
become through his riches, he shall stir up all against the Kingdom of Greece.
-
The prophecy moves on in Daniel eleven to describe the rise and the fall
-
of Alexander the Great, and then the divided Greek Empire after Alexander died,
-
and then it splits into four pieces, and then finally it coalesces into two
-
pieces, the North and the South. The Seleucid Kingdom of the North and
-
the Talmaic Kingdom of the South. Is the divided Greek world after it all
-
pans out after war, and so the North and the South are dooking it
-
out. And then we read the Bible, it says in Ezekiel that God's
-
people are in the center of the earth. They're between the North of the
-
South. They're in the Holy Land. You got to get through Palestine to
-
get to one country or another. So the south in Egypt. South in
-
Daniel eleven eight is called Egypt. It was the Egyptian Kingdom established by the
-
Greeks after Alexander's death, the Talmaic Egyptian Kingdom, and the north is the
-
Seleucid Empire of the Greeks under the Seleucias and Tichuses and so on, later
-
to be replaced by Rome and Daniel eleven sixteen, Rome and principle after that
-
switch off goes all the way to the end as the king of the North
-
in some way the abomination of Now, how do we know that? I
-
remember the image of Daniel two. I mean, if you study Daniel two,
-
the head of gold represents what kingdom helped me. I'm quizzing you.
-
Babylon, all right, chest of silver, what kingdom met of Persia?
-
All right? The waste of brass, what kingdom Greece? The legs of
-
iron Rome, now the feet of iron and clay. Europe, the Western
-
world that came out of Rome. Noticed that iron goes to the ends,
-
it changes in its capacity, it's mixed with it's mixed with clay. That
-
means Rome goes to the end. The king of the North goes to the
-
ends. So Rome is the contender here. Remember that Rome invaded Palestine and
-
subject gave the Jewish people under Pompey for century BC, and to do so
-
as the character Rome in its early DNA, Rome crucified Jesus under Pontius Pilot,
-
persecuted the apostles Nero, beheaded the apostle Paul, and crucified Peter.
-
Rome in the Church state, Fusion and Middle Ages continue to persecute just like
-
Pagan Rome had done before. Christian Rome was no different, and Rome will
-
one day do it again. According to Bible prophecy, I'm telling you the
-
truth. Friends. You know it'd be easy to preach nonsense to you today,
-
but I'm telling you the truth. This is the truth of the Word
-
of God. We are living before the end of final prophecy. I want
-
to pray, Dear Father, I pray for the Holy Spirit. Here the
-
testimony of Jesus is the testimony of Jesus give us the Bible today in his
-
name, Amen Rome. In the Church State Fusion Middle Ages, Daniel eleven
-
describ it continue to persecute, just like Pagan Rum had done before. And
-
we learn in Daniel eleven forty to forty five that one day Rome will do
-
it again, because the kingdom of this world, the world kingdom order,
-
all the way down the timeline to the time of the end, is Rome,
-
and Jesus called it the abomination of desolation. The North and the South
-
and Daniel represent the political and philosophical right and left. Now, how many
-
of you feel that most of us tend to lean politically toward the right or
-
politically toward the left? Am I right in that assumption? Now, don't
-
tell me what party you belong to. I belong to no party but Jesus
-
party. Because he says you're not to go to the right or the left,
-
to go to God. We see the North and South is really the
-
right and the left duking it out with God's people in the middle. And
-
Daniel eleven sixteen, Rome overcomes the sluicty king of the Greeks and then invades
-
Palestine and becomes the new king of the North. Daniel eleven sixteen. So
-
here's the switch out between Tai Guess the Third the Great to Rome that invades
-
Palestine under Pompey. It's described, but he who comes against him shall do
-
according to his own will, and no one shall stand against him. That's
-
Rome. He shall stand in the glorious land that's Palestine. He invades Palestine
-
with destructionist power. So the abomination of desolation is Rome that invaded Palestine.
-
Christ was very clear in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke that
-
Rome is the abomination of desolation because Rome, as the abomination desolation, invaded
-
Judea. Turn with me to Luke twenty one. Look at verse twenty.
-
But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is
-
near. Okay, So what armies is Jesus describing here? What armies was
-
Rome? Rome came surround Jerusalem destroyed the city. Look at Mark thirteen fourteen.
-
So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel, the
-
prophet standing where it ought, not the reader what understand, just like Matthew
-
twenty four fifteen, Then let those who are in where showda flee the mountains,
-
So what's the abomination of desolation? Mark here, it's Rome, so
-
we don't have to figure that out. We can plug it back into Daniel
-
Rome as the King of the North always invades the Holy Land. God's people
-
from the time of the Greeks to the end of time are always caught between
-
the King of the North the right, and the King of the South the
-
left, and that image of Daniel two. The iron of Rome goes to
-
the end. It's mixed with clay, but it's there all the way down
-
to the end. And so the North and the South, which is really
-
the right and the left, duke it out with God's people in the middle
-
all the time. So people's come to me and they say, Pastor Mike,
-
we need to line with this president of that party. And I say
-
leave them outside the church door, because I don't want to be caught on
-
the wrong side of the North of the South, which is the right and
-
the left. In the center of Daniel eleven, the King of the North
-
and the King of the South prophesy Jesus dies as the Prince of the Covenant,
-
the hands of Rome on each side of the prophecy, the King of
-
the North and the King of the South we find Michael. So the book
-
ends of this prophecy is Michael. He's first called your Prince, and then
-
the Great Prince. And then we have the Book of Truth in the book
-
that is the Lamb's Book of life. So we have Michael rescue me on
-
each side, but in the very center of the prophecy we have the Prince
-
of the Covenant broken by the King of the North. In each case,
-
Michael helps. In the center, Michael dies when Gabriel can't get the job
-
done, Michael steps in. The victory is assured, Michael stands up.
-
Michael comes to help. That means in Daniel twelve one, at the time
-
of the end, Michael stands up and is a time of trouble, the
-
one who has guard, who guards God's people, the Great Prince. That
-
means he's the good shepherd that loves and protects believers in every age. The
-
Reformer's got that right. The reformers to almost to the person understood who Michael
-
was. We live in the age of bad Bible study, where people don't
-
study their Bibles very well, and so they don't know who Michael is.
-
In Hebrew, Michael is a question, who is just like God? And
-
what's the answer in the New Testament? Emanuel God with us, so the
-
center of this prophecy. He turned to Daniel eleven twenty two. Here it
-
is. You can write this in your bibles. It's a Bible study sermon.
-
Today army shall be only swept away and broken before him, the king
-
of the North, that's Rome, and the prince of a covenant. What
-
also, when Pilot condemned Jesus he was he expressed fealty to what power Rome?
-
He was a Roman procurator who condemned Jesus. That the power of Tiberius
-
Caesar was expressed through him when he said you're going to die. Jesus died
-
in the eighteenth year of Tiberius Caesar, predicted in Daniel eleven twenty two.
-
Rome continues in Daniel eleven to the Middle Ages as the holy Roman Empire that
-
persecute the saints of God, that suppressed the Gospel of God in the church
-
state fusion in the Middle Ages. Somebody say, pastor Mike, what's the
-
holy rowin empire? It was a It had two parts to it, a
-
political leader and a religious leader. It was an emperor that kind of ruled
-
generally over a divided Europe, and the Pope of Rome that united in that
-
fusion to create its church state fusion in the Middle Ages, it's Rome that
-
continues to the end. It's Rome. In the feet of the image of
-
Daniel two. Christ warned us that popular religions never God's religion. On the
-
Middle Ages, this was the popular religion. Everybody followed the institutional religion.
-
Christ says, that's not how it works. Speaking to the Pharisees, Jesus
-
said this, turn to look sixteen. Let's look at verse fifteen. And
-
he said to them, you are those who justify yourselves before men. But
-
God knows your hearts. So we can't be in the hypocritical business as Christians.
-
Can we We have to be upright and forth right. We're sinners too,
-
right. We can't go virtue signaling other people. That's not our role.
-
And then Christ makes the statement, He's going right back to Daniel eleven
-
eleven thirty six for what is exalted among men as an abomination in the side
-
of God. He goes to Daniel eleven thirty six and Daniel eleven thirty one,
-
and he puts it together in that verse, he's talking about a popular
-
Christianity that acts like the Pharisees, that's legalistic, and that's the religion of
-
the Middle Ages, that takes people away from Jesus, that denies his law.
-
It's not merciful, that can't forgive, that persecutes. And look at
-
verse sixteen. The law and the prophets were unto John. Since then the
-
good News, that's the Gospel of the Kingdom, is preached and everyone enters
-
it violently. The Gospel is persecuted by popular Christianity. The abomination of desolation
-
is always at war with the Gospel, and it persecutes those who believe.
-
And Jesus made it clear that what is exalted in the eyes of men is
-
an abomination to God. So Rome is the King of the North, exalting
-
itself over God by invading Palestine, crucifying Jesus, continuing to persecute God's people
-
all the way down to the time of the end. In Daniel eleven twenty
-
two, we have the death of Jesus right there in the verse we looked
-
at previously the center of the King of the North, King of the South
-
prophecy. In Dan eleven forty, we have the time of the end.
-
Now, if someone do the math with me, just subtract twenty two from
-
forty. Can you get your calculators out, come on our math brains.
-
Help the preacher. What eighteen So add eighteen to verse twenty two. And
-
when you come up with now divided by two, divide eighteen by two.
-
Go to the middle of it nine add nine to eleven twenty two. What
-
verses that thirty one? So Dani, eleven thirty one if you just take
-
verses is right in the middle from the cross of eleven twenty two. The
-
time of the end eleven forty. Now what do we call the period of
-
history between the cross and the time of the end? The Middle Ages?
-
That see eleven thirty ones in the Middle Ages, and that's the abomination desolation.
-
It comes after the cross. Turn to verse thirty one. Forces from
-
him shall appear profane, The temple on the fortress shall take away the continual
-
bird offering literally the daily hot to meet, and they shall set up the
-
abomination that makes desolate. And he shall seduce with flattery those who violate the
-
covenant. But the people who know their gods will stand firm and take action.
-
There was a resistance, the apostasy and the attack on Christiane that followed
-
the Christ's death, bear and resurrection in verse thirty three. Now what happens
-
during the Middle Ages is described in verse thirty three. And those among the
-
people who are wise shall make many understand, though they will follow by what
-
by sword? What was it say? By flame? Captivity? And the
-
Church goes into captivity and plunder for some days, literally for days, I
-
mean these days are the days of the Middle Ages, the years of the
-
Middle Ages, when the Gospel is on the run, where people being persecuted,
-
when armies came overtook the Western Empire, stopped sabbath keeping, made it
-
impossible to believe in the Gospel, turned the mass into religion where it was
-
taught that somehow the priests could forgive you, and that the Church didn't forgive
-
you. You weren't forgiven. And so the Gospels corrupted the Middle Ages Day
-
eleven thirty six. And the king shall do according to his own will.
-
Now, what did Jesus say in Luke sixteen, Whatever has exalted among men
-
is an abomination before the Lord. Right, we have the abomination of desolation
-
in the Middle Ages in leven thirty one. Now look at verse thirty six.
-
He exalts himself, and the king shall do according to his will.
-
He shall exalt himself and magnus up by himself above every God, and shall
-
speak astonishing things against the God of gods. And he shall prosper till the
-
indignation is accomplished. For what is determined shall be done. Now, this
-
power that operated in the Middle Ages, that attacked the Gospel Rome in the
-
Middle Ages. In verse thirty five, it says he goes all the way
-
down to the time of the end, and then it's brought to an end
-
in its political power. In dani eleven thirty five, it shares that it
-
would be Daniels, saying it would be the dominant religio political power in the
-
Middle Ages. The end of this medieval system came in the French Revolution,
-
which rebooted Western civilization, which moved us from the church state era of the
-
Middle Ages to the modern era of divided nations, of nationalism that has given
-
us World War one, World War two, and everything else that were struggling
-
with the day and the Bible says it would go to the time of the
-
end, that deadly wound that gored the King of the North is described in
-
Daniel eleven forty. It brought us into the modern era, that is the
-
time of the end. Go to Daniel eleven forty. At the time of
-
the end, the king of the South shall attack him. Now, there
-
was one nation in the French Revolution that was claiming to be the rebirth of
-
ancient Egypt. You know what nation that was. It was the French.
-
Napoleon went down there, they got these obelisks, They dragged him up to
-
France. They changed their calendar to match the ancient Egyptian calendar that was a
-
ten day solar calendar, and they were running into the streets having nature festivities
-
like the ancient Egyptians did. And revolutionary France was Egypt reborn at the time
-
of the end. So the Bible just at the time of the end,
-
the king of the South, that's the French Revolution, shall attack him.
-
The Roman king of the North, the Church, state, system of the
-
ages. But the King of an Arts shall rush upon him like a whirlwind.
-
Now God appeared to job in a whirlwind with chariots and horsemen, with
-
many ships. He shall come into countries, shall overflow and pass through global
-
dominance at the time of the end, just like Rome invaded Palestine the days
-
of Pompeii and Dania eleven sixteen. Just like when Rome crucified Christ in Dania
-
eleven twenty two, End time Rome, the third manifestation of Rome, Pagan
-
Rome, Religio, political Roman, Middle Ages. Finally, end time Rome.
-
When the Glorious Land unite the world all over again, Western civilization will
-
coalesce into a global power again. The Glorious Land represents God's people universal in
-
scripture. They were in captivity in the Middle Ages in Day eleven thirty three,
-
but not in verse forty. And so the King of the North attacks
-
the people of God at the time of the end. When you invade the
-
Glorious Land at the time of the End, you attack God's people wherever they
-
are found, be it in Africa, Asia, Europe, wherever God's people
-
are found, there you find the Glorious Land. There are two attacks against
-
God's people at the time of the end. Look at Daniel eleven forty one
-
and then Day eleven forty four. You have them. Now we are living
-
at the end of verse forty today. That's where we live. You just
-
say now you put now verse forty just before the first attack. In Daniel
-
eleven forty one, the final world kingdom order, that is Roman principle will
-
attack the people of God, and Daniel says many will fall. How many
-
of you feel that if you're just in the church, you're okay? I
-
don't. Do you realize if you're not engaging in God's word, You're going
-
to fall away. You cannot coast in the Avenue church at the time of
-
the end and be okay. I can't either. It doesn't matter if your
-
mom and your papa or Avenue and you were born in the church. You
-
can fall out of the church at the time of the end. You know
-
what else, if you don't love the truth enough to study your Bible and
-
to get close to Christ in the Word of God, cherish every part of
-
it, then because of skepticism, you will fall away at the time of
-
the end. Do you realize when persecution starts and we're put on trial for
-
our faith, You're not gonna make it if you don't live your faith right
-
now before the time, the very time of the end. So the Bible
-
is talking about us here in verse forty one, Many fall we are headed
-
toward a time in Earth's history when the Church that God raised up at the
-
end of twenty three days is in mortal jeopardy because we need the Bible,
-
we need a revival, a primitive godliness. We need Jesus high and lift
-
it up. We need to forget this philosophical nonsense from the right and the
-
left and come to Christ and obey and share our faith with other men and
-
women. And believe me, we will fall away if we are not found
-
in Christ. Now, notice who's delivered Eden Moab in the main part of
-
the Ammonites. Eden was the brother of Jacob, who became Israel the Old
-
Testament. Moab and the Ammonites were relatives of Abraham as children of his nephew
-
Lot in the Old Testament. So together they represent believers who are close to
-
the truth, who know of God. They're on the borders glorious land.
-
There are Bible promises for them, but they're not yet there. You see,
-
there are Christians who don't know the whole truth of God, who don't
-
know what's happening in Bible. Prophecy can't interact with the law in the Gospel
-
correctly. But there's still God's people. They're delivered in this first attack.
-
But you know, those people who've had the truth for a long time,
-
since the end of the twenty three year Prophecy, those truth people have been
-
sitting on it and doing nothing with it. Many of them fall away when
-
this first attack occurs. That first attack contextually is the mark of the beast
-
issue. They're almost there, these this group edan Moebban, the first sons
-
of Ammon, but they're not quite over the lying and Daniel two forty three.
-
The King of the North, that is the political right at the time
-
of the end, totally overtakes the King of the South. Some people say,
-
well, you know, secularism has the world, but not forever.
-
The King of the Earth, representing the political and philosophical right, eventually overtakes
-
the left and absorbs all power. According to Daniel eleven, when the King
-
of the Earth, it is the right, gets done with the South that
-
is actually the left, there's nothing left of the left in terms of power
-
influence. Yes, power, No, all power comes under the King of
-
the North and Danie eleven, which means there's a church state, political economic
-
fusion at the time of the end that will have total mastery of the world.
-
Look at Daniel eleven forty two. He shall stretch out his hand against
-
countries in the land of Egypt, shall fall, shall not escape. He
-
shall become ruler of the treasures of gold and silver and the precious things of
-
Egypt, and the Libyans and Ethiopians shall fall in his train. Every part
-
of the King of the South is taken under the control of the King of
-
the North. Now in the Old Testament Danie eleven, when the King of
-
the South is defeated, like it is earlier on, the King of the
-
North focuses on persecuting God's people. And as soon as the King of the
-
South is totally under the control of the King of the North, that's when
-
the King of the North makes his move at the time of the end to
-
annihilate the people of God from the face of earth. The second attack follows
-
the first attack. There are challenging days ahead of us. According to Bible
-
prophecy, there is no room for compromise with the world. We need Jesus.
-
The good tide is and Daniel leven. When the King of the North,
-
the King of the South is out of the way, the King of
-
the North comes after the Glorious Land again, the Holy Mountain after the Cross.
-
God's country is the Christian Church that is faithful to Jesus Christ, that
-
keeps his commandments and has the testimony of Jesus, wherever it may be found
-
in any part of the earth. And when you attack God's people, be
-
in America, America, Asia, Africa, or any other place, you
-
are attacking the Holy Mountain of God, the glorious Mountain of God. Lucifer
-
attacked the Holy Mountain of God and the North that is in heaven, because
-
God is the true king of the North that is in heaven. So the
-
king of the North, that is Rome, is the use surper of God,
-
who is the king of the North. The Bible predicts that one day
-
and the not too distant future, there will be no place left on earth
-
for faithful Christians who follow Jesus. The final manifestation of Rome will attack the
-
Holy Mountain of God to destroy fit faithful Christianity with a single mighty blow at
-
the very end. And what Rome tried to do with Pompeii, with Warm
-
tried to do with Christ, what Rome did to the Christians in the Middle
-
Ages and in the sixth century. What they did in the Reformation, well
-
one day happen on a global scale. When Western civilization coalesces to be the
-
final phase of Rome. It will attempt to take out the people of God
-
in a single night. It will be Earth's darkest hour, and evil will
-
seem to triumph in a single blow. It will look like Christianity is faithful.
-
God will die at the hand of a sword and spear gun, and
-
one thing will deeply disturb the King of the North above all others, so
-
that he moves aggressively destroy the people of God for all time. Look at
-
verse forty four. Here is the contact verse of the morning. But tidings
-
from the east and the north shall alarm him, and he shall go forth
-
with great fury to exterminate and utterly destroy many. The word here utterly destroys
-
the word harem. It means to dedicate the destruction to create a new world
-
order to destroy God's people. You must do it to create the new beginning.
-
So what are these tidings from the east and the north that will disturb
-
the King of the North. They are the gospel tidings of the Good News
-
of Salvation in the book of Ezekiel. God comes from the east, and
-
God comes from the north for final judgment. The east is the direction of
-
deep time, the east the distant past. Christ journeys from the dawn of
-
time to the end of time, from east to west. In the Bible,
-
the Hebrew word for north means to hide. Saphone means the hidden place.
-
God's throne is found the highest places of the North, in the hidden
-
place of the most holy place, in the heavenly Mount Zion, where Lucifer
-
challenged him and tried to dethrone God Almighty Isaiah fourteen thirteen. Lucifer, you
-
said in your heart, I will send to heaven above the stars of God.
-
I will set my throne on high. I will sit on the mouth
-
of the Assembly in the far north. The king of the North is God
-
Almighty. King of the North is not Rome, Rome, as he is
-
Surper. I will send above the heights of the clouds. I will make
-
myself like the most high. Michael's name means who is just like God?
-
As a question Hebrew and Jesus is the only answer, since Jesus is God
-
with us Emmanuel. Jesus comes from the East at the time of the end,
-
to destroy the King of the North and to save us Matthew twenty four
-
to twenty seven. For as the lightning comes from the east shines as far
-
as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
-
Son of Man is the hero in down seven. He comes tidings from the
-
east and the north. Christ told his disciples Matthew fourteen that this Gospel of
-
the Kingdom will be preached in all the world as a testament to all nations.
-
Then the end will come. And Jesus told us plainly in Matthew twenty
-
four to fifteen that the abomination of desolation is Rome that invaded Jadea. His
-
power would oppose the gospel all the way down to the time of the end.
-
And he told us all to study the Book of Daniel to better understand
-
it in its three phases. How many Christians today bothers study in the Book
-
of Daniel. You know, when I was a young believer, I came
-
into the church because of the study of the Book of Daniel. It answered
-
fundamental questions. Does God exist? Can you prove the divinity of God?
-
Can he predict the future? Be living a time of skepticism where people don't
-
realize the gift God has given to us. How many Christians today, as
-
I said, bother not to study it. Sad mountain Zion and the Bible
-
represents God's heavenly kingdom that is not of this world. As Christians, we
-
belong to a different kind of kingdom, the mountain kingdom, the stone mountain
-
kingdom, the king of the North. At the end is the final manifestation
-
of the political and philosophical right. Positioning his forces between God's Holy Mountain the
-
nations of the earth. He meddles with Legion at the time of the end,
-
and he will attempt to destroy God's people in a single blow because of
-
the Gospel. See God's waiting on us to preach the Gospel with prophetic power
-
and truth. And there will come a day when the whole world will be
-
the loom with the glory of God's word. And then, and the Bible
-
is very clear in verse forty five, no one like Gabriel will help him,
-
and he shall pitch his palatial tents between the sea and the glorious Holy
-
Mountain. He's trying to attack the Holy Mountain. Yet he shall come to
-
his end with none to help him. Remember that Jesus is the Prince of
-
princes, the mighty Son of God, and all the Bible there is no
-
prince mightier than Jesus. So that means Jesus. That means Michael has to
-
be Jesus, because Michael is called the Great Prince who has guard or watch
-
over your people in every age. Don't run from a solid Bible connection.
-
Michael is a question, who is just like God? And Jesus Christ,
-
the pantocratar, the one who holds all things, is the answer to that
-
question. Your Testament Daniel twelve one. At that time shall arise, Michael,
-
you could plug it in. At that time will rise the Son of
-
God, Jesus Christ, the Great Prince who has charge of your people,
-
the good shepherd Prince. And there will be a time of trouble. So
-
has never been since there was a nation till that time. But at that
-
time, now here is the language of certainty. Your people shall be delivered.
-
Say it again, Your people shall be delivered. And who are they?
-
Everyone whose name shall be found written in the book. I mean You're
-
not going to get through the time of the end without a relationship with Jesus
-
based on faith in his righteousness because he's the man in Linen. But you
-
will get through the time of the end if you have Jesus. The gospel
-
tidings from the East of the North is the good news of salvation. So
-
happy for Jesus. Christ died for you and me. He died for our
-
sins as a first importance. Heaven is a free gift, and God forgives
-
us all our sins. The Kingdom of the North is raw. You don't
-
have to plaquate God, go on pilgrimages and do all kinds of crazy things
-
to be forgiven. Fall on your knees in faith, and God in Jesus,
-
forgives you tidings from the east and the North that will make the heart
-
to sing the foot to dance because our God reigns. How beautiful upon the
-
mountains are the feet of one that brings good news that establishes peace. God's
-
kingdom is a kingdom of kindness, of love, of forgiveness, and that
-
is what brings the King of the North down at the time of the end
-
and the end. God does not deliver us because we are better people than
-
other people. He delivers us because we belong to Jesus. Because our names
-
by faith are written in the Lamb's Book of Life. Friend, the only
-
way to face the end is to face Jesus before the end on your knees,
-
and to accept him as the Great Prince who died for you, who
-
forgives you, who writes your name in the Lamb's Book of Life, because
-
God loves you. The Key of the North hates the truth that is the
-
Gospel of God, and he will come to his end with none to help
-
him. Jesus warned us of the abomination of desolation. And he who accepts
-
the glad tidings and obeys the truth, who believes, will be delivered on
-
the last day, and Jesus when Jesus stands up to save. When Jesus
-
comes again, the one who endures to the end will be saved. Let's
-
stand, thank you, Let's pray. Father, We're so grateful for Jesus.
-
We live in a time of terrible compromise. We are children of the
-
Reformation, children of the early Apostolic Church that was universal, and Father,
-
the only tie we have to the past is our Bible and the faith of
-
Jesus. So Lord give us Jesus, help us to love our dear brothers
-
and sisters wherever they are found in the world. Help us to realize that
-
we're not any better than anybody else, but we do have a knowledge of
-
things, and Lord, help us to share the Gospel and the truths for
-
our times, and our Bible studies and our personal interactions in our homes with
-
our friends and neighbors. What a horrible thing would be, Lord for our
-
next, our neighbor, to be lost because we didn't reach out to them.
-
We didn't even bother to try and share anything with them. So Father
-
helped me as the preacher, to do better at that. I pray for
-
my neighbor Mail and his wife. Pray for the others that are in my
-
mind right now. These neighbors are our field of labor and thought. Lord
-
of Maybe, never be ashamed of that which you have given to us for
-
the good of others. In Jesus Name, bless your dear people. May
-
they walk out these doors forgiven saints because they have accepted Jesus in their life.
-
In Jesus Name, Amen, Amen,
