Let's pray again. Dear Father, as we focus on the word,
-
we're running a hair late this morning. Give us patience
-
so that we glean. Give me clarity, just to teach
-
and help us Lord to live for Jesus and his name. Amen.
-
The title of the message this morning is the Gospel Kingdom.
-
I don't know about you. I don't want to live
-
in a kingdom that's not good news. The word gospel
-
means good news. I don't want to live in a
-
kingdom or go to a church that's harsh, mean, backbiting, carping, selfish, warlike.
-
I want to be in a place where I love
-
and I'm being loved. Are you with me? Where we
-
value the Ten Commandments, which is the constitution of the universe.
-
Luisa may Alcott once pondered the difficulty of keeping a
-
kingdom from going rogue. She wrote, a little kingdom I possess,
-
and where thoughts and feelings dwell, and very hard the
-
task I find of governing it well, I can concur
-
with that. The Book of Daniel teaches us that God's
-
Kingdom is the one sure thing in this universe. I mean,
-
things come and go, empires fall, great leaders, disappear suddenly,
-
but God's kingdom is constant. At the end of Nebul
-
Canezar's madness, when he thought he was something great, and
-
God's smoting with insanity, leanthropy, the werewolf syndrome, and for
-
seven years he was eating grass until finally his eyes
-
his mind returned to him as God had prophesied, and
-
the love of God filled his heart, and he recognized
-
the King of God. And Nebu Canezar, a pagan king,
-
wrote an entire chapter in the Book of Daniel, part
-
of our Bible. Don't tell me God can't reach people
-
outside of Christianity. The Book of Daniel teaches that it's so.
-
At the end of nebut Canezar's madness, he lifted his
-
eyes to heaven. He acknowledged that God's kingdom is the
-
sure thing that we all need in life. Daniel four.
-
At the end of the days, I Nebuc and Nezar
-
lifted my eyes to heaven, and my reason returned to me,
-
and I blessed the most High, and I praised and
-
honored him who lists forever and ever, for his dominion
-
is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom endures from generation
-
to generation. Friends, if you're struggling for solidity, If you're
-
struggling for peace and your generation, God is there for you.
-
That's what Nebuck and Azer learned. Nebuczer had a dream
-
in Daniel two of four great world kingdoms, symbolized by
-
an idle image of a man with a head of gold,
-
a chest of silver, a waste of bronze, legs of iron,
-
and feet of iron and clay. That was the dream
-
he had, And God gave Daniel the same dream so
-
that he could explain to the king with confidence and
-
tell him what his dream was, so we know that
-
its interpretation was sure. In that dream he saw a
-
metallic man made of gold, silver, bronze, iron, legs and
-
feet of iron and clay. A stone came from a
-
mountain that hit the image, blew it away in a
-
mountain took its place, and he explained to nebuke Nezer
-
the meaning of this as four successive world empires. He said, you,
-
o king, are this head of gold? So Babin was
-
the golden kingdom, followed by Meat of Persia the Silver kingdom,
-
followed by Greece the Bronze Kingdom, Rome the Iron monarchy
-
that broke in pieces. All these kingdoms. Rome had two phases.
-
It was the monarchical phase and then the divided phase
-
of the ten Toes of Iron and clay, the mixed
-
Europe of the Holy Roman Empire of the Middle Ages,
-
which brings us all the way down to our time.
-
Because the world is Western we are living in the
-
days of the Toenails. Now. Edward Gibbon, who wrote Falling
-
to Cloud the Roman Empire, I think we have it
-
as the next slide. Go ahead and move forward to it.
-
That's okay or it is? He wrote this in his
-
Falling in to Cloud the Roman Empire. He's considered one
-
of the greatest historians of all time. He's in the
-
Great Books by Britannica right along with Isaac Newton and others,
-
and he worked right off of Daniel two to write
-
his history. He said the images of gold, silver of
-
brass that might serve to represent the nations and their
-
kings were successively broken by the iron monarchy of Rome.
-
So some of the greatest minds like Sir Isaac Newton,
-
who also wrote on Bible prophecy, Sir Edward Gibbon, John
-
Bryce his History of the Holy Roman Empire, they knew
-
of Daniel two. They recognized that it was correct history,
-
even though it predicted it hundreds of years in dvance.
-
Four kingdoms and the fourth Kingdom is a divided kingdom
-
at the time of the end. Daniel was very clear
-
in his explanation to nebuican Ezer. Now turn to Mark
-
three twenty four. Jesus says this, if a kingdom is
-
divided against itself, what does the text say that kingdom
-
cannot stand? The Holy Spirit comes into us into our lives,
-
not so we can be divisive, not so we can
-
have our own way. The Holy Spirit comes into our
-
lives so we can be one with God, unified with God,
-
for the salvation of men and women, and for the
-
glory of God. And so Jesus says, divided kingdom is
-
not in God's plan. Friend, we live today in the
-
end of time. If you don't think so, I mean,
-
we're this close to World War three. If you're not
-
following the news right, you're not following it. What's happening today?
-
The world is hanging by a thread, the Iran element
-
in the Middle East, how the Soviet Union and China
-
are wrapped around it. We are the Middle East kingdoms
-
really We are in a hotbed that could blow up
-
in a minute. Our lives could be forever altered in
-
a day, and Friend, every day matters because it could
-
be your last day. We are living before the coming
-
of Jesus Christ, and it there is no time time
-
for us to have our minds and our focus on
-
other things spirit for and we live today at the
-
time of the end. The Book of Daniel says the
-
time of the end would come to its beginning in
-
the year seventeen ninety eight. We've lived a lot of
-
years since seventeen ninety eight. We are living in Daniel eleven,
-
verse forty, just before Christ returns. In Nanel twelve to one,
-
the iron and the clay represent the world that came
-
out of the divided Europe of the Middle Ages. That's
-
our world today. We are in the toenails of human history.
-
We live in a divided world, a world order of nationalism,
-
self interest, dictators fighting with each other for money and power,
-
and order of corruption and chaos, of meanness and madness.
-
The kingdom of the world, Friend, cannot stand because it
-
is a divided kingdom without Jesus Christ. God has not
-
called us to a divided kingdom. Like Babel. He has
-
called us to the Christian faith, the word of God,
-
to the oneness that comes in Jesus Christ. Daniel two
-
forty one. You saw the feet and toes partly of
-
Potter's clay and partly of iron. It shall be a
-
divided kingdom, but some of the firmness of the iron
-
shall be in it. And just as you saw iron
-
mixed with Marie clay, and as the toes of the
-
feet were partly iron and partly clay, so the kingdom
-
shall be partly strong and partly brittle. Sister White comments
-
on verse forty two, and she says this in part
-
represents the union of state craft and church craft in
-
the Middle Ages, the divided Europe of the Holy Roman Empire.
-
And she nails the history correctly, because Rome transitioned to
-
a fusion of church and state corrupted, and it was
-
a few and then you had strong and weak nations
-
in the mix. You had the Holy Roman Emperor, and
-
you had the papal Pope of Rome, and together it
-
was Europe. It was the second phase of Rome. And
-
goes on in verse forty three. As you saw the
-
iron mix with Marie clay, so they will mix one
-
another in marriage. That brings us down to the eighteen
-
hundreds post Napoleonic Wars, the attempt to unite Europe by marriage,
-
and it fails. It leads to World War One, where
-
the idea of historical hereditary monarchies are essentially abandoned in Europe.
-
The Bible brings us in verse forty three that four.
-
So they mix with one another in marriage, but they
-
will not hold together. And you can put World War
-
one right there. Every family in every monarch in Europe
-
before your World War one was kin to each other
-
by marriage. At the end of World War One, we
-
have socialist dictatorships, communism and the like. It's the end
-
of that era. So we're living in the days of
-
the kingdoms now, but not in the days of the kings.
-
That era is gone. But they will not hold together,
-
just as iron does not mixed with clay. In other words,
-
it will be a divided kingdom at the time of
-
the end. The world is coming to an end and
-
Jesus is coming. It is a new beginning for our lives,
-
our families, and us and friends. I want to start
-
with Jesus now, not then. Today is the day we
-
latch onto the kingdom. The image of gold, silver, bronze,
-
and iron represents the four great world kingdoms of Babylon,
-
me to Persia, Greece, and Rome, which will be smashed
-
to pieces when Jesus comes back. The world kingdom order
-
is coming down, so you better not bank on this
-
world as your future. Why because a divided kingdom cannot stand.
-
Divided hearts cannot stand with Jesus, dear heart. God's kingdom
-
is not a divided kingdom. God's kingdom will stand. God's
-
Kingdom is a stone kingdom Daniel two. And Jesus is
-
the Rock of ages, the one who is one with
-
God and nature and purpose and power. And because of this,
-
Jesus is the one solid truth you can confidently build
-
your life on. Plant your hope in Christ. If you
-
have Jesus Christ in your life, dear heart, you have
-
the Kingdom of God in you, because Jesus is the king.
-
If you have Jesus, you have the Kingdom. Jesus is
-
the stone that smashes the image of the world kingdoms,
-
the stone that grows into a mountain kingdom for all
-
time down two forty four in the days of those
-
kings now now here he's talking about a heavenly event.
-
The Kingdom of God is not established at the second Coming.
-
The king of God is established in heaven and Jesus comes,
-
as Matthew says in the Glory of his Father, in
-
the Kingdom. He comes to earth. At Luke nineteen eleven
-
and twelve says that he would go into a far
-
off land to receive his country. He gets it in
-
heaven and returns. And this is here spoken of in
-
Down two forty four. In the days of those Kings,
-
the God of Heaven will do what set up a kingdom?
-
Now friends, those monarchies came to an end of World
-
War One. This has to be happening in the eighteen hundreds,
-
a heavenly event where the Kingdom of God is set up.
-
And then it will be finally at the end of
-
the Judgment of Daniel seven. And so it says, in
-
the days of those Kings, the God of Heaven will
-
set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed, nor
-
shall it sovereign to be left in other people. It
-
shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them
-
to an end, and it shall stand for how long.
-
What does the Bible say forever. I mean, that's a constant,
-
dependable kingdom. And just as you saw that the stone
-
was cut from the mountain, I know human hand, that's
-
the setting up of the kingdom. The stone gets cut
-
out of the mountain, and that it broke in pieces
-
of the iron, and then it flies through space. It
-
wheams the feet the point of contact of worship, which
-
means end time. Events are over. Worship, false worship, image worship,
-
mark of the Beast kind of worship. It pulverizes the
-
image and the feet, and then it replaces the image
-
with a mountain, which means the King of God comes
-
to earth eventually. Just as you saw the stone was
-
cut from a mountain, I know human hand that it
-
broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver,
-
and the gold. And I like this. A great God,
-
you know, not a weak god. A great God has
-
made known to the king what shall be hereafter. The
-
dream is certain its interpretation. Sure, don't let anyone to
-
convince you that Bible prophecy, we don't know what's going
-
to happen. No Mark of the Beast, the Bible says,
-
this dream is certain. It's the outline of the Books
-
of Daniel Revelation. You can plant your hope and your
-
dreams on Bible truth. The Gospel writers relied heavily upon
-
the Book of Daniel in their proclamation recording of the
-
Gospel of Jesus Christ, and so should we. Friends. There
-
is no dichotomy, no unnatural division between prophetic truth and
-
gospel truth. Did you hear me? There is no division,
-
there's no war between the two. They are one truth.
-
We are saved by a gospel of grace that was
-
predicted and affirmed by the prophets. If you have no
-
place in your thinking for prophetic truth, you have no
-
place in your heart for gospel truth. That you hear me?
-
The rumor got back to me recently, and I'm just
-
sharing this because it really made me a little funny.
-
I thought this was funny. My wife said, Honey, someone
-
said that you're teaching new theology. I said, well, that's different.
-
And I was amused, and I'm begin to chuckle a
-
little bit. I scratched my head and laughed. And then
-
I thought, well, I teach prophetic truth from the Bible.
-
I teach the Gospel truth from Romans. I teach from
-
the Spirit of prophecy, which is the lesser light to
-
lead to the greater light. And I teach the everlasting Gospel,
-
not a new gospel that somebody came up with because
-
they think they're smarter than Paul. I don't preach that.
-
Paul knew this. Paul knew that there is an everlasting Gospel.
-
And so you can't improve on the Apostolic Gospel. A
-
final generation cannot show up at the time of the
-
end and have a better gospel than Paul and Peter
-
and John that they took to the world to transform
-
the world in the Apostolic era. The gospel we preach
-
the seventh Avens Christians is the Apostolic Gospel. That is
-
the everlasting Gospel. It's the Gospel of God, the gospel
-
concerning his son. Paul knew this because the gospel is
-
the outcome of prophetic truth. That is gospel truth that
-
saves us. If you preach prophecy, and I've seen it done,
-
and you don't have Jesus as the core and content.
-
Noticing one two how the Rock is the center of
-
that prophecy. That's Christ. Christ is the focal point of prophecy.
-
If you preach prophetic teaching. And you don't have Jesus
-
as the glow in your face, the kick in your feet,
-
the theme of your teaching, you're not teaching the truth.
-
Roman's one one to four. Notice the apostle Paul. It
-
says Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ called to be
-
an apostle, set apart for the Gospel of God, which
-
he promised beforehand through the What does the scripture say
-
through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures the Gospel concerning
-
his son in one word, you can tell from verse
-
three that Jesus is the Gospel, and one word, the
-
good news is Jesus the Gospel concerning his son, who
-
was descended from David according to the flesh, designated son
-
of God in power, according to the spirit of holiness
-
by his resurrection from the dead. Jesus Christ, our Lord.
-
Here he is. He's saying prophetic truth led to the Gospel.
-
That's how we know Jesus the Gospel is the good
-
news predicted by the prophets. Because prophetic truth, rightly understood,
-
is gospel truth. Friends, God's Kingdom is the one sure
-
truth you can depend on every day of your life.
-
When life is out of control. When you can't control
-
the crazy stuff, God can control you through the Gospel.
-
For that reason and others. The Gospel of God, the
-
gospel about Jesus Christ, the gospel that saves us if
-
we hold it fast, as Paul says, is the gospel
-
of the Kingdom of God, the King of God. Paul
-
says in Romans one to three that that gospel is
-
the gospel that concerns Jesus. Know why this correlation, Because
-
if you have the King, you have the kingdom. If
-
you have Jesus, you have the future. If you're connected
-
to Christ, you are in, not out. If you have
-
the advocate, who is Christ, who comes before the Ancient
-
of days in the judgment in our place, the one
-
who took our place at the cross, if you have
-
him in the preadvent investigative judgment as your savior, you're in.
-
You're not out. So the coming kingdom depends on the King.
-
Judonomy thirty two four. Moses is the Rock. His work
-
is perfect in all his ways are justice, a god
-
of faithfulness, and without iniquity. Justin right is he. So
-
in Deuteronomy thirty four, the Rock is God. Daniel two.
-
The Rock comes from the mountain. But you go to
-
first Peter two four, And Peter says, Christ is the rock,
-
which means Christ is God. And don't let anyone convince
-
you Christ is not God, because you cannot be the
-
living stone, the rock that is God in Deuteronomy thirty
-
four unless you are God. God became flesh in Jesus.
-
The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. And John
-
is very clear he said the Word was God, and
-
the world was with God. Jesus is God. One Peter
-
two four. Come to him, that living stone rejected by men,
-
But in God's sight. What are the two key words
-
we see there? Chosen and precious. Now the reason precious
-
is used because Jesus is a gemstone. In the Old Testament,
-
he's identified with the blue sapphire stone throne of God.
-
And here Peter says, he's not an ordinary piece of
-
rock on a mountain. He is a precious gemstone. The
-
color sapphire belongs to Jesus in scripture. And like living stones,
-
be yourself built up in to a spiritual house, to
-
be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to
-
God through Jesus Christ. For it stands in scripture. Behold,
-
I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone, chosen
-
and precious, and he believes in him will not be
-
put to shame. That's Jesus, friend. If you put your
-
confidence in Jesus, you cannot be shamed out of the
-
Kingdom of God. It doesn't matter how awful you have
-
fallen in your life, it doesn't matter how low you
-
have gone down. If you are connected to Christ and
-
you won't let go of him, Peter said, depart from me.
-
I'm a sinful man, but he held on to his
-
knees in Luke fied he wouldn't let him go. You
-
cannot be lost because of your connection to Jesus. That's
-
not new theology. That's Bible theology. The word gospel in
-
Greek means good news. Friends. Jesus is good news, and
-
jesus Kingdom is good news for our lives because we
-
need Jesus. For Peter to twenty one, verse twenty one,
-
twenty five, through him, you have confidence in God? How
-
do we have confidence with God? At coin to verse
-
twenty one, What does it say through Jesus? Not because
-
you're good? This children's story wasn't that a great illustration? Today?
-
We can't reach high enough. Now. I was talking to
-
Evelyn a little bit here, and I thought she had
-
a candy bar, and I said, can I open it?
-
And says no, because I like chocolate. But you see,
-
it was a treasure, and she gave the treasure out.
-
But none of us can reach high enough to be saved.
-
God has to come down to us in Jesus. Our
-
confidence is not in us, it's in God who raised him,
-
Jesus from the dead and gave him glory. So that
-
your faith and hope are in God, not yourself, not
-
your own works, not your achievements, having purified your souls
-
by your obedience to the truth. Yes, we obey, not
-
to be saved, but because we're in God's hands, he says,
-
for a sincere love of the brethren. We obey because
-
we want us to be in the kingdom. Love one
-
another earnestly from the heart. So no fake religion. When
-
we're in the Gospel. You have been born anew, not
-
of perishable seed, but of imperishable through the living and
-
abiding word of God. That's Jesus. In the book Revelation,
-
it calls Jesus, the Word of God. He's a name
-
and was written on him, which is the Word of God.
-
Verse twenty four. For all fleshes like grass, and it's glory,
-
like the flower of grass. That's us. The grass withers
-
and the flower falls. But the Word of God lasts.
-
How long? What does it say in your Bible abides forever?
-
The Word is the good News. That means the Gospel,
-
which was a priest to you. Do you realize that
-
Paul Peter's saying the same thing that Paul is saying.
-
Christ is the living Word of God. He's also the
-
good News. And you cannot do away with Christ. You
-
cannot do away with the Gospel, the Apostolic Gospel, the
-
living Stone is the living and abiding Word of God.
-
The Gospel of the Kingdom is the Gospel, the Word
-
of God Kingdom, because Jesus is the world, that is God.
-
John one one. You guys know that, ladies know that
-
in the beginning was the Word. The Word was with God.
-
The Word was God. That's Jesus. The word of the
-
Lord came to Abromavision in Genesis fifteen one, saying the
-
Word of the Lord came to Jeremiah saying that was
-
Jesus in the Old Testament speaking to the prophets. That's
-
why the prophets have the testimony of Jesus. The kingdom
-
of the world is a kingdom of death, decay, and misery.
-
The King of God that Jesus brings into our lives
-
is a king of healing, of meaning, true riches found
-
only in God. Friend. God heals people for his coming
-
kingdom because God sent Jesus to make each and every
-
one of us a perfect jewel in jesus crown. He's
-
not going to let you stay falling down. He's going
-
to lift you. You abide in Christ, your life will
-
change for the rest of your life. Dear heart, you
-
may think you can't be saved. Jesus saves. Jesus is
-
the saving business and the healing business for you. The
-
trade we all need for life is the currency of
-
God's grace and our sins, Our sins for his grace,
-
our fear for his faith, our condemnation for his acceptance.
-
The gospel of the Kingdom that is true in Jesus
-
heals people who are wounded, broken people, tired, people, diseased, people, polluted, sullied, miserable, depressed, ignorant,
-
troubled in heart. Christ is the healer of the human race. Friend,
-
there is not a sin that Jesus cannot heal in
-
your life. You hear me, not a sin. There's not
-
a problem that Jesus cannot solve for you through the
-
power of the Holy Spirit. There is no hole too
-
deep that you have fallen into that Jesus cannot pull
-
you out, just like he pulled Peter out of the
-
water when he was sinking. And there's no stain on
-
your life garment that is so black and foul, awful
-
and ugly that Jesus cannot make it white in the
-
blood of the Lamb. Friend, Jesus is the King, and
-
Jesus is the King, and that's in the healing and forgiving,
-
restoring business in your life. And He will not be
-
done with you until you live with him for all
-
eternity perfect. He will get you there. Not you don't
-
let the devil convince you and for one moment to
-
believe the lie that Jesus cannot forgive you and heal
-
you totally. Don't believe that the Gospel is the goodness
-
of the good news of the King of God. Becoming
-
Kingdom of kindness and grace, power that is seen in
-
the eyes of Jesus in the Gospels. My father shared
-
with me the Gospel when I was fifteen years of age.
-
He was an awful father. He was an awful father
-
till he met Jesus. But when he started praying for me,
-
he became the father I needed. And he prayed God
-
would find his kids and bring them to him. And
-
the day I walked into hospital room and fletch your
-
hospital and fletch your North Carolina, having come from Appalachia,
-
my last night fishing on the New River, begging my
-
friend Jeff to come with me and to change his
-
life and to give his life, because I could feel
-
God was moving in me. It was prayer, It was
-
changing me. I didn't even know it. I just could
-
sense it. My father led me to Christ in those
-
two months before he died, and he took the time
-
to open the book Steps to Christ and the Bible
-
and walk me through the Apostolic Gospel. And friends, we
-
don't get to the Kingdom because we're good people. If
-
I had to tell you my life when I was
-
fifteen and before four years of it, it's horrific, but
-
you know what it's been like since. It's been a
-
challenge and a growth struggle. But God has been with me,
-
and I am convinced the one who started the work
-
can finish it in you and me Matthew twenty four,
-
twenty three, and twenty five. Jesus went out about all Galilee,
-
teaching their synagogues and preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom
-
and healing every disease and every infirmity among the people.
-
The keyword is every Jesus can handle every challenge in
-
your life. Christ can heal every weakness, every disease. There's
-
nothing that you have He can't do to solve it
-
for you. Jesus is the good News verse twenty four.
-
So it's fame spread throughout all Syria. And they brought
-
him all the sick, those afflicted with various diseases and pains, demoniacs, epileptics, paralytics.
-
These are mental and physical diseases, and he healed them.
-
And great crowds followed him from Galilee and the capitalists,
-
and Jerusalem and Judea, and from beyond the jord. Never
-
in the history of the world had anything happened like
-
this until Jesus came Christ is the good news of
-
the Gospel of the Kingdom. You may know nothing of theology,
-
but you can follow Jesus. You can know Jesus, the
-
one simple truth that will make you a child of
-
God by faith for all eternity. You can follow Jesus
-
because Jesus heals you. You can follow Jesus because Jesus
-
saves you and loves you. You can follow Jesus because
-
Jesus is the King who can bring you into his kingdom.
-
There's a statement in the Book Education, page two fifty seven.
-
The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed,
-
a refuge in times of trouble. And they that know
-
Thy name will put their trust in THEE. For Thou
-
Lord hast not forsaken them that seek THEE. The compassion
-
that God manifests toward us, he bids us manifest toward others.
-
Let the impulsive, the self sufficient, the revengeful behold the
-
meek and lowly one led us a lamb to the slaughter,
-
unretaliating as a sheep done before her shearers. Let them
-
look upon Him who our sins have pierced, and our
-
sorrows burdened, And they will learn to endure, to forbear,
-
and to forgive through faith. And this is one of
-
my favorite paragraphs in all of all of Sister White's writings.
-
Through faith in Christ, every deficiency of character may be supplied,
-
every defilement cleansed, every fault corrected, every excellence developed, she says,
-
quoting psychicautions, too, ye are complete in Him Manuscript forty seven,
-
nineteen oh one. Another beautiful statement. Every provision has been
-
made for the salvation of the fallen race. All power
-
was given to Him who offered himself as a sacrifice
-
to redeem every son and daughter of Adam who would
-
accept him as a personal savior, as many as received
-
him to them, gave he power to become the sons
-
of God, even to them that believe on his name.
-
And then I have this in bold Christ came to
-
this world and stood before men with the hearted love
-
of eternity. The whole ocean of divine love was flowing
-
forth from its great center. And then she identifies the
-
eternal sinner of love that he brought to this earth.
-
She says, the Godhead, the Father number one, the Son
-
number two, and the Holy Spirit number three. We're working
-
in behalf of man. Every power in the heavenly universe
-
was put into activity to carry forward the plan of salvation.
-
Don't tell me you can't be saved. God has brought
-
infinite loving power into our lives. Friend, God has given
-
the resources of eternity within the triumn. God had to
-
save us. That's why we are a baptized the name
-
of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Sister
-
White calls him the three heavenly worthies and other terms
-
as well. So why does he do this? Because the
-
that is God, the hoarded eternal unity of love that
-
is God, the Father, God, the Son, and God the
-
Holy Spirit flows to us because God loves us. Thy
-
Kingdom Come, Jesus says, Thy will be done on earth
-
as it is in heaven. And it means God's love
-
came when Jesus came, you know John three point sixteen.
-
I have the RSV. You can quote it in any
-
translation you used to. But go with me. For God
-
so love the world that he gave his only son,
-
that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have
-
eternal life. For God sent the Son into the world
-
not to condemn the world, but that the world might
-
be saved through him. The Gospel the Kingdom is all
-
about the King and not about us. We're not the
-
gospel in any way. Our church is not the gospel.
-
Our denomination, as important as it is as the remnant
-
movement of the book Revelation, it's not the gospel. Friends,
-
Jesus is the Gospel of the kingdom. Three truths in
-
Jesus' life It led to his death, and what follows
-
are the cour truth that save us for God's eternal kingdom.
-
When the angels came and they sang the song on Bethlehem,
-
they told the shepherds, we bring you good news, which
-
means the gospel. When Jesus shows up, it's gospel, but
-
the three core truths of the gospel, Paul identifies in
-
one Corinthians fifteen one to four. Quickly turn with me.
-
I know we're going a little late here. We had
-
a good health knuck of today, didn't we. We needed that,
-
so I'm not far from being done. But help me here,
-
Paul says, Now, I would remind you, brethren, in what
-
terms I preached to you. What is in your bible?
-
What's the word gospel which you receive in which you
-
stand verse two by which you are saved if you
-
do what what does it say in the Bible? Hold
-
it fast, don't give it up. Don't let someone convince
-
you to some crazy theology that would surrender this. That's
-
what he's saying unless you believed in vain verse three.
-
For I delivered to you as a first importance, here
-
is the most important truth of the gospel. But I
-
also received that Christ died for our sin. Is what
-
did Jesus die for? Tell me for our sins? Why?
-
Because we're sinners? In accordance with the scriptures and the
-
look of verse four, that he was buried. So what's
-
the second piece here? He was buried and the third
-
he was raised on the third day. And what does
-
it say and accords to scriptures, that's prophetic truth predicting this.
-
The first and most important truth of the gospel is
-
that Jesus died from my sins so I can be saved,
-
so you can be saved. Jesus took my place and
-
your place on the cross. I've heard some people say, no,
-
that's pagan idea, nothing pagan about it. God cannot set
-
aside his law, that is his character and save us.
-
So God went to the cross in Christ to save us.
-
Every sin has ever been committed went to hell at
-
the cross and Christ. It was judged in Jesus, and
-
when it was over with, there was no one left
-
to condemn. If they're in Christ, no one left to condemn.
-
Jesus took my place in your place on the so
-
I can take his place, and you can take his
-
place in heaven for all eternity. The second truth flows
-
from the first, and that Jesus was buried to take
-
away our sins. And finally the third truth of the Gospels,
-
that Jesus was raised for my acceptance, my legal acquittal
-
in the Greek of Romans four twenty five and five
-
to one. So I cannot be condemned in the judgment day.
-
You cannot be condemned in the judgment day if you're
-
in Jesus. Christ's death, his burial, his resurrection is the
-
way of the woods. So who's the good news? One word?
-
What isn't I'm quizzing you. Jesus is the good news.
-
We're living in a world that's changing fast in front
-
of our eyes. Kingdoms are falling and churches are burning,
-
and our dear brethren at the Spenserville church. If there's
-
anything we can do to help them, we're going to
-
do it. We don't let churches go down. Is it
-
fair enough? So whatever we can do if they need
-
to baptize in our baptistry. How many of you are
-
committed to making sure our sister church survives this horrible
-
thing that happened this week. I went over Friday morning
-
to the Spensable Church and I met Pastor Crystal there.
-
We had a prayer for them, We took some food
-
and evidently they're reguarding the church there so they can
-
figure out how to secure the building properly. But let's remember,
-
our dear brothers and sisters in the Spencerblee Church, we
-
are living just before the coming of Jesus, and we
-
may lose our building too. It could be taken away.
-
We're living the toenails of the Image of Daniel too,
-
just before Jesus comes. We cannot afford to be worshiping
-
an image in our lives. We cannot afford to have
-
false religion, be it in a church or any other place.
-
We need the Bible, we need Jesus. I appealed you
-
today to let Jesus work for you in your life
-
I'm going to read from Jesus' words here, and then
-
I'm going to ask for a simple call by raising
-
his hands. But I want to read what Jesus said
-
about the rock. One, then, who hears these words of
-
mind and does them. In other words, who obeys the gospel,
-
will be like a wise man who built his house
-
upon the rock. The rain fell, the floods came, the
-
winds blew and beat upon that house, and it did
-
not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.
-
And everyone who hears these words of mine and does
-
not do them will be like a foolish man or
-
woman understood, who built his or her house upon the sand.
-
And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the
-
winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell,
-
and great was the fall of it. And when Jesus
-
finished these sayings, the crowds were astonished at his teaching,
-
for he taught them as one who had authority, and
-
not as their scribes. And my call is very simple today.
-
I want to first extend it to those who have
-
never been baptized. Do you realize the Bible teaches that
-
we must be obedient to be baptized When we are baptized.
-
We show we believe Jesus said, whoever is believed is
-
badzed will be saved. Whoever does not believe is baptized
-
will be condemned. It's the way we tell Jesus. I'm in,
-
I'm into the kingdom. If you've never been baptized and
-
you feel conviction today that you need to be, raise
-
your hand high, raise it high. Let's see. Thank you, Daniel,
-
God bless you. You've made a public confession of faith.
-
Daniel and Malaysia, God bless you. Web You've raised your
-
hand high. Donald, you've raised your hand. And Brother, you've
-
raised your hand too. Now, Mervin, I'm going to ask
-
you to come up to the front with me. Just
-
come quickly to the front, and I would ask Elder
-
John Dom if you're here, to come as well, and
-
we're going to have a prayer for you before we end.
-
I would like to do that as the way we
-
end our service today. Now, next week we have a baptism.
-
We prepare people for baptism. If that's not if we
-
can't do it by the seventeen, we will have a
-
baptism soon. Once your preparation is ready. Why don't you
-
stand and come to the front. If you raise your hands,
-
just come to the front. We're going to have a
-
prayer for you, Paul.
-
Oh Lord, we are grateful that we have an invitation,
-
an open invitation to come to you without any preconditions.
-
I'm so thankful Lord that these people have come and
-
signified the intention to join you by publicly expressing their
-
faith in you. We want to have everybody who has
-
made that decision to be consecrated Lord today so that
-
they can join you and grow in You. Father. We
-
ask you to bless the other candidates who are not
-
here but who are going to be baptized next Sabbath.
-
We thank you for this harvest that you have given us.
-
May this be the beginning of our efforts to have
-
a desire to win souls for you, and may this
-
church be known as a church where sinners can come
-
and be accepted by Christ and grow. Father. Each one
-
of us has that work and we want to do
-
it and welcome each member who has made this important
-
decision today. Thank you, Father for your love and for
-
the provision that you have made. Something which we could
-
not do. You did for us. So we thank you, Lord,
-
and appreciate what you have done, and dedicate our efforts
-
to inviting others to do the same thing. We ask
-
all of this in Jesus' name. Amen.
