The Little Horn Prayer

Okay, let's have a little prayer and we'll lunch in.

Dear Father God, thank you for the Cross of Christ,

putting us on that cross in Jesus and the Lord.

Doesn't matter if we're young or old. If we're in Jesus,

we're a new creation. So grant us a picture of

what it means to pray the little horn prayer this

morning in Jesus' name. Amen. Now, I would like to

say one thing before I begin the message today. Thank

you for singing that beautiful happy Birthday song for me.

And I am sixty three years old today and I'm

telling everyone I'm thirty six. I'm dyslexic. Please let me

do that. I'm just kidding. I don't care if I'm

eighty four sixty. You know, one dear person didn't greet

me this morning, but reminding me that I look a

little older. Do I have more gray hair than when

I started this journey? Yeah? You know. One of the

reasons my eyes are a little bade than most is

I have Ahler's dan Lowe's, which is a connective tissue,

so you'll see my eyes droop a little bit more

than the most. But that was true twenty years ago.

So I'm just glad to be here, a little receding

hairline and gray, and other than that, I feel like

I'm twenty thirty six. Would you let me kind of

land there in heart? And I'm very grateful to see

you all. And I love you, Diana and I we

love you. Let's pray again, Father, guide our hearts as

we get into the Bible in Jesus' name. Amen. The

title of the message is the Little Horn Prayer. He said,

what are you doing there, pastor Mike, Well, wait and

see Acts Chapter ten begins with a clear statement about

a good man, where he lived, what he did for

a living, Acts ten one and two. Let's open our

bibles and a look at Cesarea. There was a man

named Cornelius, a centurion of what was known as the

Italian cohort Pause. There was a Roman coastal city about

thirty miles north of Joppa, where Peter had settled down

for a while after raising Tabitha from the dead. Joppa

is associated with present day Tel Aviv. In Peter's time,

Cesarea was the capital of the Roman province of Judea.

In sixty four b c. POMPEII annexed Syria. Just within

a year, Judea was scooped up and the conquest of

Palestine was secured. It was a major political, commercial, and

naval hub for the Roman Empire. Cesarea was a vital

point in the region of Judea. The city was called

Cesarea because it was named after the great Roman emperor Caesar,

Augustus Octavius, Augustus Caesar, who was proclaimed to be the

Roman Prince of Peace. You know, Christ was the true

Prince of peace, but in the Roman world, Augustus Caesar

was called Prince EPs, the Prince of Peace, because he

had defeated every enemy that had caused a destabilized world.

And with this final conquest of Egypt and BC thirty

one at the Battle of Actium, he ushered in what

history calls the famous Pax Romana, and so he was PRINCEPS.

He was declared to be a God, the son of God,

the son of a God, and he was the Prince

of peace. In their mind, Cesarea was called little Rome

in relationship to the city of Rome, in the big

boot of Italy. And what do they do at Rome?

With that big boot? They kicked everybody else around to

get their way. They ruled the world. The Book of

Daniels says they broke in pieces all the kingdoms that

came before it. Cornelius was a humble centurion the Roman Empire,

Roman army. Now do we have any Cornelius is here

in church today? I know we have one Cornelius. You

are here today, so you're gonna learn something about your name.

He was a centurion in the Roman Empire. Now why

do you think he was a centurion. What does the

word centurion mean over one hundred, and we assumed that

they were over one hundred. Not quite the case. As

a centurion, he was in charge of eighty soldiers in

the peacekeeping force of four hundred and eighty soldiers that

was part of the Italian Cohort. So one hundred is

really eighty, So it's an optimistic number. Christ was crucified

by Roman soldiers. Now think about it. When those two

Roman spikes went into his feet, the serpent's fangs landed

in Jesus' feet. In the Book of Revelation, a ten

horned dragon is pictured as the power of Rome that

crucified Christ. And so Christ was wounded in his feet,

just as God told Adam and Eve that the Messiah

would be wounded in the feet that crushed the head

of the serpent, and so Rome was nothing to be

spoken of in a fond way. Christ was crucified by

Roman soldiers, tortured by them, and it should be noted

that many Roman sold soldiers turned to Jesus Christ as

their caesar, their king, Christ won the army. At least

two Roman centurions expressed faith in Jesus and the Gospels.

One was, from what city do you remember? The city

of Capernaum? And it means in Hebrew the atonement or

covering of compassion, and so one of this. And then

there was another centurion for sure that said, truly this

man was the son of God when Jesus Christ was crucified.

So you can be in the military, and except Christ,

am I right? Sometimes I think, well, if someone's in

the military, is no way on earth they can be

following God. Look at all those soldiers do. And yet

we have the example of godly soldiers doing the right things.

And that means godly police officers, godly firemen, people who

serve to protect have a God ordained role. According to

the Romans. One recently, a groundbreaking archaeological discovery occurred at Megiddo.

They're putting a prison in there, and they were excavating

it as they do in Israel, to make sure they

don't lose any archaeological finds. And they found an ancient

flora mosaic and a complex built for Roman soldiers dating

to two thirty a d. That was on earthed as

part of this large worship Paul and it was sixteen

by thirty two feet wide. Now, Lucien, you work at

the Bible Museum. You can raise your hand in our

Is that exhibit still there? Do you know? It is

still there? So what I'm talking about is at the

Bible Museum. If you hook up some tickets to the

Bible Museum, you can look at what I'm talking about.

And this flora mosaic dates to two thirty a D. Now,

why is that significance significant? This is almost a century

before Constantine at the Council of Nicea and others Will

developed the doctrine of the Trinity. Constantine didn't develop the

Doctor of Trinity. I didn't say that, right, He's observing

it being affirmed at that time. Constantine was not a

power player at the Council of Nicia, he was present there.

He later became anti Trinitarian. Five years later he persecuted Athanasius,

who had defended the deity of Christ. If you ever

have a chance to read Athanasius's treatise on the Incarnation,

he in fact is he sounds like a good Seventh

day Adventist, talks about the seventy weeks of Daniel nine

cut off. He had the foretaste of eighteen forty four

right there in three twenty five AD. But Constantine persecuted Athanasius,

and he basically went Arian, and for a number of

years until the death of his son, it shifted and

then it came back. Some people have twisted that history

and do not know it correctly. So that Flora Mosaic

was constructed nearly a century before the reign of Constantine

the Great, about seventy five years. Amazingly, this elegant mosaic

was discovered in a building used by the sixth Ironclad

Legion of the Roman Army in the third century AD.

That Roman soldier's building had been built with a special

worship Paul that was dedicated to Jesus Christ. So here

you have the military complex and you have this floor,

and it's dedicated Jesus Christ. They worshiped in that barracks.

The beautiful Christian Mosaic and Meghiddo was funded in part

by Guyanus. Guyanus, a Roman centurion similar to Cornelius, but

later down the timeline, who had evidently converted to Christianity.

The mosaic is significant for many reasons, but most importantly

because it contains a very clear inscription by a believer

named a Keptus that reads as follows the follow this,

the God loving Aceptus has offered a table to God

Jesus Christ as a memorial. You read that. Now this

is seventy five years before they'll ever meet to deal

with the question of the Trinity. And some people said, well,

this idea that Jesus is God is a later invention.

It was held by the early Christians, and this is

considered to be one of the great archaeological finds of

our time. Friends, when you recognize Jesus as Jehovah Yahweh God,

you have aligned with the ancient faith that was given

by the Apostles to Christians, as affirmed by Gaius and

a captus in that floora inscription at the Bible Museum.

So go see the thing. It's well worth watching. Almost

one hundred years before the Constant of the Great the Council,

and I see those early Christians affirm that Jesus Christ

is God. This is one of the great discoveries of

our time. Like the Dead Sea scrolls, Friend, the divinity

of Jesus Christ is not a scandal of later changes.

The divinity of Jesus Christ is the truth we need

to be changed in our lives. Carnelius name in Latin

comes from a combination of words that means something like this,

a bit like a horn, or, more clearly, in a

vernacular sense, the diminutive sense of the word for horn,

little horn. Imagine me and name little horn Cornelius. I

hope you don't leave the church over this, okay, But

your name actually means literally little horn. But there's a

good side to this. Follow me. He was named little

horn in the Book of Daniel. The figure of a

little horn is used in both Daniel seven and Daniel

Late to describe the Antichrist's power. Now don't leave. This

is going to turn out good. That came out of

Rome and persecute the Christian Church for twelve and sixty years.

Dale seven. The Little Horn power looks like the son

of Man. He has eyes in a mouth, but rather

he's the Antichrist. He's a fake son of man. He's

an impostor who is not the true son of man.

The Little Horn is a religio political power that dominates

Christianity in the Middle Ages, sucks people into disbelief, violating

God's law, change of the Sabbath. That list is long.

The Little Horn is a fake son of man who

makes himself out to be the head of the Christian

Church of Middle Ages. But he is not the head

of God's church because he is not Jesus Christ. Friends,

the preacher isn't the head of the church. The church

isn't the head of the church administrators and have the church?

Who's the head of the church Jesus? And what did

Jesus give us so we could be faithful to him?

I give you a hint, it's right here the Bible.

So God's word becomes the standard of righteousness that leads

us to Jesus and both dw seven Day or eight.

The Little harm power exalts itself as the spiritual phase

of Rome, to be greater than God, greater than Jesus Christ,

who is the true son of God. Dan On seven

to twenty five. Notice what it did. He shall speak

pompous words against the Most High, which means it's a

religion power. He shall persecute the saints of the Most High,

which means it's a persecuting power. Fifty plus fifty to

two hundred million people have been estimated died at the

hands of this corrupt religional political system after sixteen eighteen,

when the Thirty Years War hit. The latter part of

the time Times and Dividing of Times, the Dividing of

Times part sixteen eighteen to seventeen ninety eight, millions of

people die because of a corrupt church system. He shall

intend to change times in law, God's Law, God's Covenant

Deuteronomy four thirteen is the Ten Commandments. It is the

constitution of the universe. God's Covenant, God's name, God's character,

the same thing Christ came to reveal the name of God,

the law of God, the nature of God. This power

would change the times in God's Holy Law, And so

we know from history when that time prophecy started Daniel

that we're going to look at in that very year

was a universal Sunday law commanding all churches east and

west to violate the Fourth Commandment. A little more than

a century earlier, at the Council of Ladesia, the Church

had imposed a rule that God's Holy ten Commandment law

is changed by the authority of the Church, vesting Sabbath

no longer as the Sabbath, but giving the solemnity to Sunday.

And it was done by the bishops and an ecumenical

council that defied the God of the universe and the

constitution of Heaven. And I'm telling you those church leaders

who did that, unrepentant, will arise in the resurrection at

the end of the millennium to answer before the judgment

bar of God for attacking the Covenant, the eternal Covenant

of God. He shall intend to change times in law

and the saints, and that means Christians shall be given

his hand. Here's the time period. What does it say

a time? Help me with this? Times in times without

a number is always two times and half a time,

and that is three and a half years. Who had

a ministry of three and a half years all right,

this is the Antichrist fake church system of the Middle Ages,

which has a man in charge of it instead of Jesus,

that corrupted God's law, created the habit of the Middle Ages.

And we have here a clear time period, a counterfeit

of Jesus ministry three and a half year ministry, but

on prophetic time, that is twelve hundred and sixty literal

years every day in a lunar month. Maps out the

forty two months, twelve and sixty days twelve one hundred

and sixty years from five thirty eight when the siege

of Rome lifts, to seventeen ninety eight, when a new

siege of Rome takes Pious the sixth captive. You have

that prophetic time period, well attested in Dan revelation, affirmed

by the reformers of the sixteenth century. Nothing new here, Antichrist.

Now look at Daniel eight, nine, and eleven. It won't

dwell on this as much. Out of one of them,

one of the four winds came a little horn which

grew exceeding great toward the south, toward the east, and

toward the glorious land that's Rome, toward Egypt, east, toward Greece,

glorious land Palestine under to Pompei, the conquests of sixty

five and on BC. Next verse verse ten, and he

grew up to the Host of Heaven. So not just

political Rome, spiritual Rome. And it casts some of the

host and some of the stars of the ground. Faithful believers,

God told Abraham are like the stars. When a star

gets thrown down, believers turn away from God. And some

of the stars that through to the ground. And what

did do it persecute them? It trampled on them. So

don't think you're new that you're putting up with stuff

that no one else has. When you stand for God,

you stand for his word, and you get persecuted for it,

you are in good company. Verse eleven. It even he

even exalting in himself as high as the prince of

the Host. Now I'm going to ask you an easy

question of today. Who is the prince of the Host?

That's right. So, in other words, it exalted itself to

take the place of the commander of heaven, Jesus, the

great high Priest of Heaven. And by him, that's the Antichrist.

The Daily Now, the word sacrifices is not in Hebrew.

The Daily Bible says, give us this day our daily wife.

What does that mean? It means the word of God.

It took the word of God, the Bible. It took

it away from Christ and from the Church, and the

place of his sanctuary, the ministry of Christ and the

hemly sanctuary was cast down. And that is the great

apostasy of the Middle Ages. Cornelius had the Latin name

that meant the same thing as the Roman antichrist little

horn of Daniels seven and eight. That seems to be

a bad start, right, But not so? And yet Cornelius

is a man from Rome who is seeking the knowledge

of the true God as best he can and acts tens.

Verse two, Luke introduces to Cornelius's moral character in his

spiritual relationship with God, even though he had a limited

knowledge of God. Look at verse two, Acts ten, Luke

records that he was a devout man who feared God

with all his household. He gave alms liberally to the people,

and pray constantly to God. How many of you like

to be in the Cornelius camp today? I want to

be in the Cornelius camp. Put me right there now.

I ask you this morning, what is real religion. Can

I ask you that question, what is real religion? I

can guarantee you that real religion is not looking religious. Oh,

I'm meddling. Real religion is not the act of singing

well in church and we like good singing or thank

you Daniel and Joe together an combination or being smart

and Sabbath school. Even though it's good to be smart,

or impressing others with your religious pedigree as a third

or fourth generation believer, that's not a good thing to do.

Real religion is not what you do to look good

on a Sabbath morning for preachers and teachers to admire you.

Real religion is who you are, because you are sincere,

because you belong to a good God, because you derive

your goodness from God and not from yourself. A right

relationship with God will make a man or woman right

in the community, rite in the church, and write in

the family like Cornelius was why, because a right relationship

with God will move on a person's heart to care

about others, to be merciful towards those in need, to live,

to make a difference for people. Before Cornelius ever experienced

a formal conversion to the faith, Cornelius was a man

led by the Holy Spirit, acting as if he was

in the faith before he was ever baptized. He was

a better believer before he was a believer. Some people, well,

how you do that? Well, look at Cornelius. He was

doing the right things before he was baptized. May God

give us a million Cornelius is in the Christian Church.

It's a marvelous thing to have. Don't tell me that

God doesn't have a good people, that he doesn't have

honest people in different churches, different world religions. I'm not

saying the religion is good. I'm not saying their church

is necessarily good. But they're His children, and the Holy

Spirit is gone there. And what matters most is happening

in the life and the heart. Romans eight fourteen Paul

tells us who God's children are. He says, for all

who are led with the Spirit of God are the

sons of God. So if you aren'tled with the Holy Spirit,

I don't care what you do, what you say, what

you've accomplished, you are not in the program. We are

to be spirit led people. And the fruits of the spirit,

what are they? Help me with them a little bit

go slow and loud love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness. Something. Now,

by the way, this is say, fruits of the spirit

are fruit. All of that together is fruit. One fruit

means the Holy Spirit. John ten sixteen. Jesus said, and

he said this at the time of ancient Judaism, when

there wasn't a Christian church. He said, I have other

sheep that are not of this fold, that would have

been in the world religions at that time. I must

bring them also, and they will heed my voice, so

there would be one flock and one shepherd. He's quoting

Isaiah fifty six' eight that talks about The sabbath going

to the, world the gentile, world when The messiah would show,

up And jesus is affirming that that's time for that to.

Happen dear, Heart True christianity is not bigoted or. Exclusive

NOW i whenever we're connected to a people blessed By

god and we are with prophetic, truth prophetic, knowledge the

danger is to get arrogant and bigheaded about it and

think that we're somehow better than other people because of

How god has blessed. Us has that ever happened to?

You no True christianity doesn't write people off because they

don't belong to our church or agree with. Us True

christianity doesn't strut around to other churches and glowed about

how much truth we have in ours and how much

error they have in. Theirs let me tell you, SOMETHING

i have stood right here where this church was dedicated

churches who don't keep The, sabbath don't understand it as we,

do don't understand prophetic truth The Three angels, messages but

are Godly christians who Love, jesus and they Recognize jesus

to prove how right you, are it's in evidence you

Church maybe they have a world religion you can't. Stand dear,

heart that person is a child Of, god whether they

know or, not The Holy spirit has moved throughout the.

World your heart measured that precious person by the yardstick

of their, need with the measure Of god's. Mercy, Now

god says he will make a man or woman more

precious than the gold of. Oph how many of you like?

Gold you are more precious than. Gold and when you

measure a precious person by the artstick of their need

with the measure of, mercy you will be measured by

The god Of love as a righteous man or, woman

full of grace and, mercy led of The Holy, spirit

a true son or daughter Of. God so this business

of being, righteous because you know a lot is. Meaningless

you are righteous if you are a, merciful loving human

being and you care about other people and you put

yourself out there for them without just trying to look

good for your own. Ego you may not know much about,

theology but if you are a merciful person praying as

best you know how with an honest, Heart god will

reach out to you in his mercy to communicate his

love to you. Personally that is the first lesson we

learn in the early conversion story Of. Cornelius mercy. Matters

so if we have to have values here at reaching,

hearts should mercy be high on the? List should be

love and acceptance behind the? List what do you come,

on a? Men those kind of things that should be. High.

Right theology matters, too but not as high as those

acts ten verse. Three, friends your prayers will go up

when you are a merciful, person And god's message of

love will come down to you because you have shown

mercy x ten. Three about the ninth hour of the,

day he That's cornelius saw clearly in a vision an

angel Of god coming in and saying to. Him cornelius

in The Synoptic gospels Of, Matthew mark And luke synoptic

means they run parallel to each. Other john is and

how there was a darkness over the cross from the sixth.

You if you pray with an, earnest honest and sore

heart for, mercy a memorial is made for. You verse,

would probably die from fear of looking at an. Angel

and angel is not some pretty little thing with. Wings

it's this powerful being with light and who knows what

else me look like a, lion an, ox and eagle

like In. Ezekiel we probably have to go on meds

immediately because of how fearful the appearance of an angel

is to. Us so let the angels remain in the

shadows in another dimension to do their good work of encouraging,

us pointing us to people taking the form of other

people who will lead us To. Jesus but don't ask

to see an angel unless you want. To probably have

some hard. Times have you asked yourself the question as of,

late Does god ever hear me WHEN i? Pray have

you ever wondered? That have you? Come all? Right all?

Four The angel, said your prayers and your alms have

ascended as a memorial Before. God it's not just your

prayers that go up To, god your acts of. Mercy

it's what you do when you put yourself out in

service in the, church service for the, poor service to

helping people come To. Christ when you do that in any,

capacity and it takes from you to do, it it

goes To god as if it were a. Prayer you

can pray by your actions and it becomes a memorial

Before god for. You so it's not just your prayers

that go, up your deeds go. Up you may get

frustrated helping. OTHERS i don't. Know i've been frustrated times

helping people because it sometimes sucks the wind out of

your personal, energy your, finances you. Think But god doesn't

get frustrated when you give you hear me those sacrifices

here and. There when the church needs the help it,

needs when a precious person needs a helping, hand when

discouraged and beaten down soul needs a divine. Lift that

is the moment when what you do becomes the prayer

of your deeds that ascend To. God not what you,

say but what you do as an act of mercy

is a prayer. Action it ascends To, god And god

hears what you do for, others and Thus he knows

who you. Are we are told in The bible that

there will be an investigative judgment in heaven of the

righteous dead just before the sudden coming Of, christ and

we are living during that time right. Now some people

say why we need an investigative. JUDGMENT i don't need investigtive.

Judgment great theologians, say we don't need a investiaive. Judgment you

know why we need investigative judgment because of the question of,

theodicy the justification Of. God god cares so much about

you that he stops the whole universe to open the,

books to consider the importance of your, life to audit

the record so That Jesus christ can stand Before God.

Almighty We're lucifer, sinned and he can confess your name

Before His father and The Holy angels in the judgment

as he promised he would. Do and if that's not,

there then who knows Why god put people in and

need to worship an Arbitrary. God we worship a, loving Open.

life there is a memorial of what you have done
