Crossroad Currents

So let's have a prayer and launch into the Bible.
-
Father God, I pray today you'll hold us in Jesus.
-
You'll keep us in Jesus, and that we will discover
-
what it means to live in the crossroad, in the current,
-
where the great rock is found that does not get
-
blown away by the flood. In Jesus' name, Amen. Now,
-
sometimes we live our life thinking that we exist at
-
the center of the universe. Have you ever thought that
-
the whole thing rotates around me? And then we discover
-
that it doesn't rotate around us, That somehow the crossroad
-
of reality, the current of reality, doesn't flow through us.
-
It flows through God. But we have our own center.
-
If you look, you'll see the center of the universe.
-
It's all you gotta do is turn around, and you're
-
at the center from your own perspective. This week, I've
-
been studying Psalms nineteen ninety one. I mean, Psalms ninety
-
is perhaps my favorite psalm in all of the Psalms.
-
It's not by David, it's by Moses. And Linguistically, I
-
stayed up all night after prayer meeting. I could not
-
give doctor Schaeffer. I could not go to sleep Wednesday
-
night after prayer meeting, not because of prayer meeting, but
-
because I got into an analysis of Psalms ninety and
-
ninety one in the Hebrew that took me up until
-
six am. It was so sweet I couldn't let it down.
-
And I don't often do that, but boy, that night
-
I could just feel God in the Bible. Moses wrote
-
Psalms ninety It just says it's a Psalm of Moses,
-
but the Hebrew rabbi's taught that Moses wrote also Psalms
-
ninety in Psalms ninety one, And I know by interacting
-
with the text that Psalms ninety and ninety one form
-
a single linguistic structural system, as if they were written
-
by one author. Now Moses may have written both, he
-
may not have written both. But who's the ultimate author
-
of scripture? As God is Jesus, the mind of Christ,
-
the Holy Spirit, it doesn't matter. And so they unite
-
in what they call a chiastic structure. I've spoken as
-
to what this is before. Chiastic structures are, in a
-
real sense, represent the linguistic math mind of God diffused
-
through the profits into the Bible. A chiastic structure works
-
kind of like this. You start with the beginning. It's
-
called a the end is called a prime. It matches
-
or cross talks, moving toward a center, and there are
-
no gaps until you get to the center. And the
-
bookends of A and a prime always meet in some
-
meaningful way in the center. And then I have found
-
in my analysis of the Bible that it'll fractal. And
-
we say fractal, it'll break into two, and you'll have
-
two subsets, and then you have subsets within this. And
-
really it's like a tree, a tree of life, where
-
the structural branches of the Bible move toward the micro
-
structures of words and sentences. And the mind of God,
-
as that says in the Spirit of Prophecy, is diffused.
-
She speaks of channels, deep currents in the Bible and
-
Christ's object lessons that are yet to be discovered. The
-
mind of God is in the document we hold in
-
her hand. Now, some people will say, well, you know
-
the Bible, it's got all these errors, and every people
-
say that, yeah, and now you have smart theologian types. Well,
-
I have found this discrepancy, which you've really found that
-
you have a shrunken mind because God integrates. He puts
-
things together in ways that forces us to stand outside
-
of our logic and observe the awesome power of God
-
in the Bible. Now, I don't believe this just because
-
I have strong emotions about the Bible. I am sixty three,
-
and you can say, oh, Pastor Mike, how's that possible? Well,
-
look at the gray hair. You see the gray hair
-
I got. I'm sixty three, and I don't say this.
-
I don't say this just to say it. I know
-
from the evidence of years a study of the Bible,
-
and I quit worrying about theologians a number of years ago.
-
I don't care what they say the Bible. From the
-
Bible alone, that we have in our hand, the intentional
-
word of God meant for the last days of human history,
-
in its exact order as it exists, so that we
-
will be ready for the same coming to Christ whoos
-
I'm so sorry, should be gentle with the word of God. Okay,
-
now I say that, not the pontificate, but to proclaim
-
that which I have learned from the evidence. Now, a
-
chiastic structure. They're all through the Bible. The serm of
-
the Mountain is one they went up the mountain a
-
prime a no excuse me, A on the front side
-
the end of it. They went down the mountain, and
-
in between that structure, you'll come to the center, the
-
secret place where God Almighty in prayer meets with us.
-
That's the top of the mountain, the top of the
-
chiastic structure, the mountain, the mountain, the secret place with
-
God is the center, which is the top of the
-
out The Bible is obsessed with these chiastic cross structures.
-
At the center of Psalms ninety ninety one, verses one
-
and two. Here is the chiastic center of it. He
-
who dwells in the shelter of the most High, who
-
abides in the shadow of them Almighty. We'll say to
-
the Lord, my refuge, my fortress, my God in whom
-
I trust. That's the secret place. The shelter in Hebrew
-
is the word secret place. A chiasm, as I sayd
-
as a linguistic cross with the left side and the
-
right side match moving toward a meaningful center that meets
-
in the middle. So Psalms ninety ninety one, meet right
-
there in verse one. There is a fractaling of these
-
chiastic structures. As I said, when they break into subset
-
structures where you see another cross, where it meets in
-
the middle, time and time again. It's like this, the
-
currents of scripture the cross, currents like a giant Monora tree,
-
a fract system giving light understanding the cross, the cross,
-
the cross, the cross, time and time again. I don't
-
think for a moment that this is an accident that
-
our Bible is embedded so deeply with the cross. Our
-
Almighty Father God values the Cross of Jesus Christ more
-
than any other truth in the Bible. It is structurally
-
embedded as the apostle of the Gospel of God. Paul
-
affirmed the same truth that I'm speaking here that God
-
affirms by what he does in scripture in Galatians six fourteen.
-
Look at this verse with me, But far be it
-
from me to glory except in the cross of our
-
Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified
-
to me and I to the world. Can you affirm
-
that with me by a hearty amen or the raising
-
of your hand. I mean, this is central truth here.
-
Far be it from me to focus on anything but
-
the Cross of Christ. Paul says, So when we teach,
-
when we preach, when we work with our children. When
-
we are we laboring long in the church, we should
-
be cross centered christ centered people. God forbid that we
-
lose our focus and think about You know, I love
-
studying prophecy, but prophecy is not the ultimate truth. It
-
points to the truth of the Cross. And so when
-
we come and we integrate truth correctly, we are cross
-
centered christ centered Christians. Now, you can't be a cross
-
centered christ centered Christian if you don't believe jesus death
-
on the cross mattered. Right, you can say, well, you know,
-
Christ didn't need to die. That's a pagan idea. You know,
-
whoever's teaching you that nonsense is teaching you pagan theology.
-
Christ had to die for our sins based on one
-
Corinthians fifteen, the most important truth. And I've seen smart
-
theologian types try to argue this away with what they
-
call the moral influence there that somehow Christ only came
-
to show us God's love. Well, he did come to
-
show us God's love. But friends, Christ came to do
-
more than show us God's love. Christ came to die
-
for us because he is God's love and God's love
-
will not tolerate sin. And Christ died for our sins,
-
so that you can stand at the second coming justified
-
by faith in Jesus Christ, by virtue of the Cross
-
of Christ. God forbid that we should glory in anything
-
but the Cross of Christ. We all live amazing in
-
the amazing plan and province of God at the crossroad.
-
We meet at the cross. All humanity meets at the cross.
-
We live in the violent currents the river of life.
-
And somehow the cross is planted in time and our current,
-
in our struggle and our life, God meets us right
-
there at the cross, and the river flows through the cross.
-
Dear heart Ess stood in the wild currents of the
-
flood at the cross, the flood of human lives, of
-
human minds, of human sin, and it all went through him.
-
He drowned at the cross. But the rock is the
-
platform that was not swept away. The suddenly prophecy of
-
Dan nine well read by you today. Thank you. The
-
suddenly prophecy of Dani nine has been called the cornerstone
-
of the Christian religion if you study the themes of
-
the four hundred ninety year time prophecy, by the way,
-
a prophecy linked with the twenty three hundred year Time
-
prophecy that gave rise to the Seventh day Abonist movement.
-
I want to say this very forthrightly. If this church
-
that I'm attending right here today, the Seventh day Abnist Church,
-
is not a movement in Bible prophecy, I wouldn't be
-
a minister in this church. Do you hear me? I'm
-
not pontificating here. Because God raised up the Apostolic Church
-
at the end of the seventy week prophecy of Dale nine,
-
the four one hundred and ninety year prophecy, the cornerstone
-
of the Christian religion. In Dale nine, He raised up
-
his church with that time prophecy. The apostles taught that
-
time prophecy in the New Testament. But when he had
-
to restore his church at the end of the Middle Ages,
-
when everything had gone south, when you had the papal
-
apostasy predicting the Book of Daniel, when he had to
-
restore his church, when the Reformation fell short of Bible truth,
-
became the sleeping Church of Sardis. In the relation at
-
the end of the twenty three hundred years that reaches
-
to the year eighteen forty four, the autumn of eighteen
-
forty four, God Almighty in Heaven linked the coming of
-
Christ in the seventy weeks, which was cut off from
-
this longer time prophecy, and he moved in history through
-
the Great Disappointment of eighteen forty four, guided by prophetic activity,
-
to raise up out of fifty people the fastest growing
-
church on the face of planet Earth that meets the
-
credentials of Revelation twelve seventeen. Here are those who keep
-
the commandments of God and the testimony of Jesus. Now, friends,
-
I don't believe that because I want to believe it
-
when I was a young By the way, this is
-
not in my manuscript. I just feel impressed to say
-
this today. I don't do that because I want to
-
believe it when I was a young person. Exactly that
-
truth was challenged theologically when I had attended Southern College
-
and I left the Ministerial Department program for a year,
-
went into pre med because I was troubled by the
-
attacks on the teaching of the investigative judgment of the
-
Great Time Prophecy of Day on eight fourteen, and I
-
took time went overseas to lol Isle in the middle
-
of the Pacific. The Marshall Islands, And there I studied
-
my Bible, nothing else, just my Bible. And God sent
-
a wonderful man into my life by the name of
-
Hm asked Richards Junior, who prayed for me, the speaker
-
of the Voice of Prophecy radio broadcast. And there I
-
was able, by God's grace to piece together the framework,
-
not all the questions answered, but enough to see that
-
where else would I go? How could I go back
-
to a Sunday keeping church that violates the Fourth Commandment?
-
How could I go to any church that would teach
-
that God's laws set aside? And how can I be
-
a part of anything that it's not as Christ centered
-
as the beautiful book The Desire of Ages. You know,
-
people say, well, in a spirit of prophecy, it's crazy,
-
man alive. You read that book. My Father's Dying Thoughts
-
was the last chop chapter of the Desire of Ages
-
and the Life of Christ to my father and yours.
-
By the way, which is chiastic, it's a supernatural document.
-
There's no way I could go back. And friends, I'm
-
in it for the long game. I believe, enfeebled and
-
defective as our church is at this time of our history.
-
God is going to discipline it. He's going to help us.
-
He's going by the way, he's going to correct it.
-
We need correction at times. But God's Church does not
-
dependent upon any man any new idea. It's prophetic truth
-
unfolding in time that leads to our time. We're in
-
the current the great river. So, by the way, when
-
you study Danie nine, you would discover that the imagery
-
of the seventy week prophecy Daana nine is strongly rooted
-
in the imagery of Isaiah fifty two thirteen to Isaiah
-
fifty three. The end we call it the fourth servants song.
-
We know Isaiah fifty three. How many of you are
-
familiar with it? Like a lamb to the slaughter, It's
-
the great prophecy of Jesus dying as the lamb going
-
to the cross. Paul's theology of justification by faith in
-
Romans three and other places comes right out of Isaiah
-
fifty three. Paul. Perhaps Isaiah has the greatest impact on Paul.
-
In fact, Paul's theology of justification by faith is rooted
-
in Isaiah fifty three and Daniel nine nine twenty four,
-
In particular, seven weeks of Day one nine is interacting
-
through the Holy Spirit with Isaiah firfty three. Now, the
-
suffering servant in Isaiah fifty two and fifty three is
-
in fact the Messiah Prince of Daniel nine twenty three,
-
twenty four to twenty seven, and they are both presented
-
as the Maray. That's the keyword that links the two chapters.
-
Hebrew word maray. Why don't you repeat it with me?
-
Come on, try it? Maray? Maray. Do we have anybody
-
named Mara here? Mara? Mara can mean two things in Hebrew.
-
It can mean, it can mean bitterness or vision. It's
-
the feminine of the masculine. Marey. So marey said one
-
more time with him. Marey. It means appearance, that what
-
you can see with your eyes. Behold maray. That is
-
the cross link between these two chapters. Turn with me
-
Isaiah fifty two thirteen. Let's start a little bit in Isaiah. Behold,
-
my servant shall prosper, and that Jesus said he came
-
to be a servant, He shall prosper. He shall be
-
exalted and lifted up, and shall be very high. The
-
Antichrist of Daniel eight tries to do what the servant
-
has a right to do. In Isaiah fifty three, behold,
-
my servant, I think of John one twenty nine, when
-
John saw Jesus coming to the Jordan, and it says,
-
behold the lamb of God. He's getting it right out
-
of here. Of Isaiah fifty two and fifty three. I
-
think if Pilot and John when he said behold the
-
man Daniel eight and nine interacting with Isaiah fifty three.
-
Look at verse fifteen when I Daniel had seen the vision.
-
Now he means the twenty three hundred year vision, the hodzone,
-
the long time prophecy. I sought to understand it, but
-
God had different plans for him. He wanted to explain
-
something more important than the longest time PropheC of the Bible.
-
And behold, there stood before me, one having the what
-
is the Hebrew word? I wrote it on the screen,
-
Say with me the mare appearance of a man, literally,
-
a mighty man, a gever, a gover. It's in pause
-
and Hebrew, so standing before him the appearance. Suddenly he
-
can see with his eyes the mighty man. You see,
-
God would rather have us understand Jesus first before we
-
attempt to understand long time prophecies. If your focus is
-
on long time without knowing Jesus, it doesn't get you anywhere.
-
Look at you. On nine twenty three, at the beginning
-
of your supplication, so time passes, he explains the mare.
-
He comes to verse twenty five of Daniel eight, and
-
we see the death of Christ, where the king fierce
-
of faith, which is Rome identified in Daniel eleven, stands
-
upon the Hebrews, stands upon the Prince of Princess. Horrifies
-
Daniel how Jesus could die, and in the mare the
-
mighty Man would be crushed by this evil Roman power.
-
Nine twenty three, now years past, Gabriel comes back to
-
explain the mara. To explain Jesus. At the beginning of
-
your supplications, a word went forth dav Ar, and I
-
have come to tell it to you, for your greatly beloved. Therefore,
-
consider the word Davar, and understand the mare the appearance
-
that means of the mighty Man. Christ is both. We
-
will switch this thing out next week. Sure, okay, let
-
me just regot it. Christ is both the word the devar,
-
and he is the appearance of the mighty Man. The
-
seventy week Prophecy Dale nine explains both, because Jesus is both.
-
Look at verse twenty four seventy weeks of years. That's
-
the revised standard version our decreed. The Hebrew is katok.
-
It's a cut off. It's the only time this verb
-
occurs here, concerning your people. Cut off of the longer
-
time prophecy of the twenty third years is the mare
-
of the Mighty Man, the appearance of the coming of Jesus,
-
concerning your people in your holy city. To do what
-
to finish the transgression of the Jewish people understood, to
-
put an end to sin that means all sin, to
-
atone for iniquity in the Hebrew without a definite article
-
which means all iniquity. And then here is pauline justification
-
by faith to bring in what kind of righteousness? Come on,
-
help me now, look, if Christ, if God brings in
-
an everlasting righteousness, don't you go thinking that you can
-
add to God's righteousness by being perfect? Do you hear me?
-
God's righteousness is in Jesus. We acquire it by our
-
connection to Jesus. We don't acquire it because we impress
-
God with how much we know, how good we are,
-
or how perfect we think we are. Now God will
-
have a perfect people, but a perfect people will never
-
rely on their righteousness, They will rely on Jesus righteousness.
-
Do you get the point to bring in everlasting righteousness
-
because we don't have that, to seal both vision and profit,
-
and to anoint and most holy. Literally the Kodesh kurda
-
shame in the fourth century Iranius excuse me, Athanasius, in
-
his treatise on the Incarnation use this very verse to
-
demonstrate that Jesus Christ is God, the Messiah, was anointed
-
in this time prophecy, and a holy of holy a
-
is a codis koda shim. You cannot be holy of
-
holies unless you are God. And so the anti trinitarian
-
theory that would attack the divinity of Christ, that would
-
diminish his divine credentials to die on the cross for us,
-
is at war with the everlasting righteousness that God would
-
bring us in Jesus. You see, everlasting righteousness goes back
-
into eternity. Everlasting righteousness goes forward into eternity. Christ Our righteousness,
-
the righteousness of God is God's righteousness. Paul says, all
-
right Dale nine twenty four. Now the mighty Man of
-
Daniel eight point fifteen shows up as the mare in
-
the appearance of Dale nine, twenty three, twenty four, and
-
then twenty six identified as Messiah Prince. I say Isaiah
-
uses the same word mare for appearance in Isaiah fifty two,
-
fourteen and fifty three to two. Right then in your
-
Bible fifty two, fourteen fifty three two, same use of mare.
-
In fact, certain word study books will indicate that this
-
is a specialized use of mare for the Messiah appearance.
-
And time and time again, the New Testament says he
-
has appeared once and for all at the end of
-
the ages. That's mare, I did mare. But now a
-
righteousness has been as appeared. Paul says Romans three been manifested.
-
Apart from the law and the prophets, the appearance of
-
Christ is the answer to all our needs. He appears
-
in the seventy weeks. Look what he says here, and
-
this is the servants song of Isaiah. As many as
-
were astonished at him, his mare. His appearance was so
-
marred beyond human semblance, and his farm beyond that of
-
the sons of men. Christ was pulverized, Christ was mutilated. Christ.
-
If the shroud of Turin is in fact evidence Christ
-
was butchered for our sins, and a mangled body hung
-
upon the cross of Christ Calvary. Look at Isaiah fifty three,
-
verse two, another use of mare, for he grew up
-
before him like a young plant, like a route out
-
of dry ground. He had no form or comeliness that
-
we should look at him, and no beauty the Hebrew mare,
-
no appearance that we should desire him. He appears, but
-
his appearance isn't like a rock star. He comes as
-
the humble servant of God to save the world. The
-
mighty man we all need in life is the suffering
-
servant of Isaiah fifty two and fifty three, who was
-
the lamb of God. And so Daniels saw the mighty
-
Man dying in Daniel eight twenty five by at the
-
hands of the of Rome. He was horrified, and he says,
-
I didn't understand the mara. He was not expecting a
-
suffering mighty man, a broken mighty man. In Isaiah fifty
-
three to two, for the suffering servants, Christ has no form,
-
no form. But in Isaiah nine and excuse me. In
-
Dane nine twenty six, the Messiah prince appears, and it
-
says he has nothing. There's nothing for him. He loses
-
it all. Isaiah fifty three eight says the suffering servant
-
was cut off out of the land of the living,
-
stricken for the transgression of God's people, and dal nine
-
twenty six the Messiah Prince is cut off and has nothing.
-
In Isaiah fifty three eleven, the suffering servant, who is
-
the lamb, bears our iniquity so he can forgive us,
-
give us his righteousness. In dal On nine twenty four,
-
the Messiah Prince atones for iniquity transgression to bring in
-
everlasting righteousness. Daniel is quoting Isaiah fifty three when he
-
speaks of Jesus showing up as the mighty Man in
-
the Suffering Servant. Let me ask you a question. In
-
your life, do you worship a weak savior or a
-
strong one? What do you think? Is he a mighty man?
-
He is? Don't you ever pull the power of God
-
out of Jesus Christ in your life. Christ doesn't put
-
up with evil. Do you know that he disciplines us,
-
but he loves us? Because the Mighty Man has a
-
mighty heart of love for you and me. He's not
-
satisfied that you would be lost Isaiah fifty three to eleven.
-
Look what it says, he shall see the fruit of
-
the travail of his soul and be satisfied by his knowledge.
-
Shall my righteous one make my servant, make many to
-
be a count of righteousness, that is palling justification by
-
faith in the Book of Romans, coming from that verse,
-
and he shall bear their iniquities. You can't get any
-
closer to us than that Christ took us into him
-
and down nine twenty six. Gabriel tells Daniel that the
-
end comes with a flood. Now, I've been in a flood.
-
I've been in where my life was put in danger
-
by a raging stream. But the Hebrew can be translated
-
his end or its end with a flood. Both are true.
-
The city representing God's people, its end came with a flood.
-
We are all in the flood, the currents. But his end,
-
his end for us, happened first there. He drowns in
-
our sin on the cross, the city's sin, and we
-
escape to the surer life. Now the King of the
-
North and the King of the South. Discourse given by
-
Gabriel and Dannel ten twenty one to Daniel, twelve to
-
one expands on this idea of crossroads and currents. According
-
to Daniel ten fourteen, Gabriel's Discourse of the King of
-
the North and the King of the South is a commentary.
-
In fact, it's a full commentary on the vision of
-
the twenty three years. Have you ever scratched your head
-
and you said, Pastor Mike, what is going on in
-
Daniel eleven, The King of the North, King of South?
-
Have you ever had that? I'm going be brave and
-
raise your hand. Raise your hand. If you're honest. The
-
rest of you will work with you for moral you know, improvement,
-
now just having fun with you? Do you realize it's
-
really kind of basic? The twenty three hundred year prophecy
-
of Daniel eight fourteen, according to Daniel ten fourteen, is
-
explained by Gabriel in the discourse of Daniel levin The
-
King of the North, King of South. The whole history
-
of the world, from the meat of Persian Empire to
-
the coming of Christ is in one chapter of your Bible.
-
How do you like that? So if you want to
-
know history right, study Daniel eleven. And if you want
-
to get some help, go to Angels Intheglen dot org.
-
Now I happen to know that Elder John Dom is
-
working on a book on Daniel chapter eleven, verse by verse, right,
-
and you're getting there. It's about a third of the
-
way through that book. And that thing's going to end
-
up on the web with a video presentation of Daniel eleven.
-
So we're working on that for product purposes. But but
-
you read it, watch God work in your life. But
-
we're gonna talk a little bit about it right now. Okay,
-
getting back to this where we're at here, God's people
-
are always at the crossroad, the center of the struggle
-
in Daniel eleven, the North, the South, Judea in the middle,
-
and the north represents more than just the Seleucia Empire
-
in verse sixteen that becomes Rome, and the south represents
-
more than just the Tomaic Egyptian Empire, because as these
-
kingdoms pass in Daniel eleven, they're replaced by systems that
-
represent the North and the South globally, and the North
-
and the South in a real sense represents the right
-
and the left. Now, I don't want any political people
-
here to run up and say, well, I want MAGA
-
or I want you know, social justice. How many of
-
you know that we all tend to go to the
-
left a little bit on how we vote. Come on,
-
raise your hands. Is that true? Do you realize that
-
God's people are always in the middle of the right
-
and the left. They're caught in the great current, the
-
great struggle. So we shouldn't be identifying with any group
-
other than God's people, the glorious land. We're in the middle.
-
And so this is why we leave politics out of
-
the church. We don't promote candidates. We promote conscience, and
-
we're about the truth of God and his word. Now
-
let me just go on here a little bit. I
-
my manuscript here is not happening today. We all meet
-
in the middle at the crossroads in Daniel eleven. Now,
-
let's put this chart on the screen here if we
-
can now this is a very basic picture of Daniel eleven.
-
Really danel ten twenty one to Daniel twelve to one,
-
which is the King of the North, King of the
-
South discourse. And I wish the slide was brighter you
-
could see the colors. So I'm gonna have to draw
-
out what I say on my screen. Ear, But the
-
Prince of the Covenant is in blue. Michael, the Prince
-
and Michael the Great Prince is in blue. Why because
-
in Daniel ten twenty one, which is a a prime
-
in the structure, Daniel twelve one, No, excuse me, a
-
Daniel twelve one, which is a prime at the end
-
of the structure. It meets in the structure at the
-
very center in Daniel eleven twenty two. And Daniel eleven
-
twenty two is the cross of Christ in human history.
-
So what's the center of the King of the North,
-
King of the South discourse? Based on the calastic structure.
-
You can look at the chart Daniel eleven twenty two.
-
I have one symbol there. What is that? The cross?
-
What matters to God the most in Bible prophecy the cross. Okay,
-
now you'll see here in Daniel ten twenty one, Michael,
-
your prince standing. It says with me, Gabriel, I'll tell
-
you what's in the Book of Truth or the writing
-
of truth. Now on the other side, at the end
-
of the prophece, you have Daniel twelve one, Michael, the
-
Great Prince standing over your people, literally in the Hebrew,
-
guarding them, found written in the book. Now Jesus said
-
that he has guarded us. He's the great Guardian. And
-
in fact it's notice the book on the right side
-
and the book on the left side attached to Michael.
-
Now the book revelation. What's the book that gets us
-
out of trouble? What's it called the lambs come on
-
help me? Book of Life? Well here it's Michael's Book
-
of life. You get the point. He's the one who
-
has the book. And then in the very center, we
-
don't have Michael the Great Prince. We have the Prince
-
of the Covenant. So Michael the Prince on each side
-
meets with the Prince, but he's the Prince of the Covenant.
-
Now Malachi will call him the Angel the Covenant, mean
-
the messenger of the Covenant, who's Christ who comes. But
-
right here the Covenant matches the book on the left
-
side and the book on the right side. Because God's
-
Covenant is the Book of life. If you're in the Covenant,
-
you're found written in the book. So on each side,
-
Daniel's in trouble. On the last time, God's people are
-
in trouble. At the time of the end, you had
-
a sudden coming. But in the center, Jesus is in trouble.
-
The text says he swept away in the flood and
-
broken the cross of Christ in the eighteenth year of
-
Taber Caesar and Daniel eleven twenty two. Christ dies in
-
the center of this discourse. Now look at it. I'm
-
gonna read Danel ten twenty one very briefly, but I
-
will tell you was inscribed in the Book of Truth.
-
There is no one who contends by my side against
-
these except Michael, your prince Daniel twelve to one. At
-
the time shall arise Michael, the great Prince, who has
-
charge of your people. He's the great shepherd. And there
-
shall be a time of trouble such as never has
-
been since there was a nation till that time. But
-
at that time your people shall be delivered. How many
-
of you want to be delivered? Raid your hand. It's me.
-
Everyone is God trying to keep people out. No whose
-
name should be found written in the book the Lamb's
-
Book of Life, Michael's book. Now look at Dane eleven
-
twenty two. Chiastic sinner armies shall be ly swept away,
-
flooded away before him and broke. And it's Rome and
-
the Prince of the Covenant also, he dies in the flood.
-
He's broken for us. Michael's a question Hebrew that literally
-
means who is just like God? Friend, Jesus is the
-
only answer to that most important and profound question in
-
your life. Jesus is the great Prince who stands watch
-
over God's people in every age, as Michael, the one
-
who is just like God, who stands over the waters
-
of the angry Stream, as the Man in Lenin and
-
Daniel ten and Daniel twelve, as Michael the Great Prince
-
in Daniel twelve one, as one as the on of
-
God in the Fiery Furnace in Daniel chapter three, as
-
the Messiah Prince of the New Covenant in Dale nine
-
twenty seven, as the Prince of the Covenant in Daniel
-
eleven twenty two, broken in the flood. Friend, Jesus is
-
the Word of life. Jesus is the book of life.
-
Jesus is the writing of truth. Jesus is the covenant
-
that God has made with us. Jesus is the Way,
-
the Truth, and the life at the chiastic center. Guess
-
who we find at the cross? We find that we
-
are at the cross. We were there in the mind
-
and the heart of Jesus. As the flood of humanity
-
from Adam to the end rolled through the lamb of God,
-
who takes away the sin of the world. Every evil
-
I've ever committed, every evil you've ever committed, he atoned
-
for in his mind in the hours from Kyssemite to
-
the Cross, until there was nothing left to condemn. And
-
when he was finished, he said, Father, it is finished.
-
Your sins were no longer the roadblock to keep you
-
from access to God in Christ, and everlasting righteousness has
-
been brought in, and we are treated as if we
-
had never sinned. We experienced the beautiful truth of justification
-
by faith in Christ alone. Our tears, our fears, our hopes,
-
our dreams met in Jesus at the Cross of Christ,
-
and his tears mingled with ours. You're on the serm
-
of them Mount, which is that beautiful clastic structure. It says,
-
blessed those who mourn on the other side of the Chiasm.
-
It says, the floods came and beat against the house
-
that was founded on the rock. See, the flood is
-
sorrow and tears in our life. But if you're on
-
the r you're not going to be swept away by sorrows,
-
fears and tears, because you're in the secret place with God.
-
At the top of the mountain. Somehow Jesus proved at
-
Calvary's Cross that he is the Way, the Truth, and
-
the Life. Christ found the way through the darkness of
-
the flood of the Great River. Save us, dear heart,
-
crossroad and currents matter to God. Why because you matter
-
to God at the cross and every day of your life,
-
in the currents that lead you through time, you matter
-
to God. You matter to God. Don't ever forget it.
-
You matter to God. Father, God. Thank you for Jesus
-
all sufficient, God, for us, everything that you are here
-
for us. God with us, he Manuel. Thank you for
-
the ever lasting righteousness that is most holy, because Jesus
-
is most holy. And Lord, we want to leave this
-
place feeling saved, and we know we will be saved
-
in the future, but right now, every day we want
-
to right now righteousness and ever now lasting righteousness good
-
enough for the judgment day. Lord, this service represents it.
-
Bless your people with Christian assurance, so that we will
-
obey for the right reasons. And may we will live
-
for you with joyful lives, and we will give our
-
sins to you, knowing we're not cast off, and that
-
we will be your children. For all eternity. Bless your
-
people name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy
-
Spirit in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen,
