  1. Joedy Melashenko: It's a blessing to be here this morning.

  2. Joedy Melashenko: I've had

  3. Joedy Melashenko: uh

  4. Joedy Melashenko: a

  5. Joedy Melashenko: tickle

  6. Joedy Melashenko: in my throat for a number of weeks, and I

  7. Joedy Melashenko: Wasn't even sure I'd be able to sing this morning.

  8. Joedy Melashenko: So if you hear me, you know, looking for some uh

  9. Joedy Melashenko: sour note, you understand why.

  10. Joedy Melashenko: But it's a joy to be here this morning.

  11. Joedy Melashenko: We're going to be sharing a lot of

  12. Joedy Melashenko: exciting things that

  13. Joedy Melashenko: God is doing in this world.

  14. Joedy Melashenko: Here's a song for you to meditate

  15. Joedy Melashenko: on.

  16. Joedy Melashenko: One day I came to him.

  17. Joedy Melashenko: I

  18. Joedy Melashenko: was

  19. Joedy Melashenko: so thirsty

  20. Joedy Melashenko: I asked for water, my

  21. Joedy Melashenko: throat was

  22. Joedy Melashenko: so

  23. Joedy Melashenko: dry.

  24. Joedy Melashenko: He

  25. Joedy Melashenko: gave me water

  26. Joedy Melashenko: that I

  27. Joedy Melashenko: had

  28. Joedy Melashenko: never dreamed

  29. Joedy Melashenko: of

  30. Joedy Melashenko: But for this water

  31. Joedy Melashenko: my Lord had

  32. Joedy Melashenko: to

  33. Joedy Melashenko: die

  34. Joedy Melashenko: He said

  35. Joedy Melashenko: I

  36. Joedy Melashenko: first

  37. Joedy Melashenko: get

  38. Joedy Melashenko: him

  39. Joedy Melashenko: The river

  40. Joedy Melashenko: he said

  41. Joedy Melashenko: I

  42. Joedy Melashenko: thirst, yet he made

  43. Joedy Melashenko: the sea.

  44. Joedy Melashenko: Oh

  45. Joedy Melashenko: I

  46. Joedy Melashenko: thirst

  47. Joedy Melashenko: said

  48. Joedy Melashenko: the king

  49. Joedy Melashenko: of

  50. Joedy Melashenko: the

  51. Joedy Melashenko: ages

  52. Joedy Melashenko: in his

  53. Joedy Melashenko: great thirst

  54. Joedy Melashenko: he brought water.

  55. Joedy Melashenko: To

  56. Joedy Melashenko: me.

  57. Joedy Melashenko: Now

  58. Joedy Melashenko: there's a river

  59. Joedy Melashenko: and it flows

  60. Joedy Melashenko: as clear as crystal.

  61. Joedy Melashenko: It comes

  62. Joedy Melashenko: from

  63. Joedy Melashenko: God

  64. Joedy Melashenko: 's throne

  65. Joedy Melashenko: above

  66. Joedy Melashenko: and like

  67. Joedy Melashenko: a river

  68. Joedy Melashenko: it wells up.

  69. Joedy Melashenko: Up

  70. Joedy Melashenko: inside

  71. Joedy Melashenko: me, bringing mercy

  72. Joedy Melashenko: and life

  73. Joedy Melashenko: giving

  74. Joedy Melashenko: love.

  75. Joedy Melashenko: He

  76. Joedy Melashenko: said

  77. Joedy Melashenko: I thirst

  78. Joedy Melashenko: yet he made

  79. Joedy Melashenko: the river

  80. Joedy Melashenko: He said

  81. Joedy Melashenko: I thirst

  82. Joedy Melashenko: yet he may

  83. Joedy Melashenko: Said

  84. Joedy Melashenko: the king

  85. Joedy Melashenko: of

  86. Joedy Melashenko: the

  87. Joedy Melashenko: ages.

  88. Joedy Melashenko: In his

  89. Joedy Melashenko: great thirst, he brought water

  90. Joedy Melashenko: to

  91. Joedy Melashenko: me.

  92. Joedy Melashenko: Oh, he said

  93. Joedy Melashenko: I

  94. Joedy Melashenko: thirst, yet he

  95. Joedy Melashenko: made.

  96. Joedy Melashenko: The river.

  97. Joedy Melashenko: He said

  98. Joedy Melashenko: I

  99. Joedy Melashenko: thirst, yet

  100. Joedy Melashenko: he made

  101. Joedy Melashenko: the sea.

  102. Joedy Melashenko: I

  103. Joedy Melashenko: thirst

  104. Joedy Melashenko: said

  105. Joedy Melashenko: the king of

  106. Joedy Melashenko: the ages

  107. Joedy Melashenko: in his

  108. Joedy Melashenko: great thirst

  109. Joedy Melashenko: he brought

  110. Joedy Melashenko: water.

  111. Joedy Melashenko: To me.

  112. Joedy Melashenko: In his

  113. Joedy Melashenko: great first, he brought water

  114. Joedy Melashenko: to

  115. Joedy Melashenko: me.

  116. Joedy Melashenko: Get up close.

  117. Joedy Melashenko: Get up close.

  118. Joedy Melashenko: Good morning everyone.

  119. Joedy Melashenko: We're so happy to be here with you this morning.

  120. Joedy Melashenko: I'd like to share our scripture that we're going

  121. Joedy Melashenko: Jody's going to be basing his sermon off of, and it's found in Romans

  122. Joedy Melashenko: chapter 10 and verses 13 to 15.

  123. Joedy Melashenko: There, I think there are Bibles

  124. Joedy Melashenko: in the pews in front of you if you'd like to follow along.

  125. Joedy Melashenko: Otherwise, you can read it off the screen.

  126. Joedy Melashenko: Everyone, everyone

  127. Joedy Melashenko: who calls on the name of the Lord

  128. Joedy Melashenko: will be saved.

  129. Joedy Melashenko: What an awesome promise

  130. Joedy Melashenko: is that

  131. Joedy Melashenko: But how can they call on him

  132. Joedy Melashenko: unless they believe in him?

  133. Joedy Melashenko: And how can they believe in him

  134. Joedy Melashenko: if they've never heard about him?

  135. Joedy Melashenko: And

  136. Joedy Melashenko: how can they hear about him

  137. Joedy Melashenko: unless someone tells them?

  138. Joedy Melashenko: And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent?

  139. Joedy Melashenko: That's our scripture this morning.

  140. Joedy Melashenko: And you will find out quickly how

  141. Joedy Melashenko: God is working in this world to

  142. Joedy Melashenko: send people

  143. Joedy Melashenko: to share the gospel.

  144. Joedy Melashenko: Amen.

  145. Joedy Melashenko: My dear wife

  146. Joedy Melashenko: Judy and I have

  147. Joedy Melashenko: put up with each other in a very wonderful way.

  148. Joedy Melashenko: Fifty-five years.

  149. Joedy Melashenko: I'm still on probation, she tells me though.

  150. Joedy Melashenko: But I'm just, I know she don't want me to say much, but this has been a very difficult

  151. Joedy Melashenko: last

  152. Joedy Melashenko: couple weeks for us.

  153. Joedy Melashenko: Judy lost her best friend, her sister, just two weeks ago today

  154. Joedy Melashenko: and

  155. Joedy Melashenko: it's been

  156. Joedy Melashenko: Lord Jesus, please come soon.

  157. Joedy Melashenko: That's all I can say.

  158. Joedy Melashenko: My wife and I have

  159. Joedy Melashenko: had

  160. Joedy Melashenko: The wonderful privilege of being involved in youth ministries our whole career.

  161. Joedy Melashenko: The last 15 years we served with quiet

  162. Joedy Melashenko: hour ministries out of

  163. Joedy Melashenko: Redlands, California, with Bill and Jackie Tucker.

  164. Joedy Melashenko: And we organized

  165. Joedy Melashenko: and coordinated about 50

  166. Joedy Melashenko: short-term mission projects, including evangelism

  167. Joedy Melashenko: building

  168. Joedy Melashenko: schools

  169. Joedy Melashenko: and churches.

  170. Joedy Melashenko: And it was by far

  171. Joedy Melashenko: the most life-changing experience, not only for us, but the young people that went with us.

  172. Joedy Melashenko: It was just a very

  173. Joedy Melashenko: marvelous privilege.

  174. Joedy Melashenko: We thought our days of

  175. Joedy Melashenko: mission projects were over.

  176. Joedy Melashenko: Did I say something?

  177. Joedy Melashenko: One of the

  178. Joedy Melashenko: guys who is my

  179. Joedy Melashenko: one of my contractors

  180. Joedy Melashenko: called me a year ago and said, Jody.

  181. Joedy Melashenko: We uh

  182. Joedy Melashenko: we spent a couple

  183. Joedy Melashenko: summers

  184. Joedy Melashenko: in Fiji.

  185. Joedy Melashenko: By the way, does anybody know the greeting

  186. Joedy Melashenko: from the Fijian islands?

  187. Joedy Melashenko: What do they say when they see each other?

  188. Joedy Melashenko: Bula.

  189. Joedy Melashenko: Bula.

  190. Joedy Melashenko: Everywhere it goes.

  191. Joedy Melashenko: Bula.

  192. Joedy Melashenko: He said, we're going back to Bula

  193. Joedy Melashenko: country

  194. Joedy Melashenko: because there's 23

  195. Joedy Melashenko: little churches there.

  196. Joedy Melashenko: That have been meeting in this little pole

  197. Joedy Melashenko: barn for their school, and they desperately want a church school in this region of

  198. Joedy Melashenko: Singatoka, Fiji.

  199. Joedy Melashenko: So

  200. Joedy Melashenko: fortunately, praise the Lord, we were able to raise some funds through our church, through the church up in Battleground, Metal Glade

  201. Joedy Melashenko: Church up in Washington.

  202. Joedy Melashenko: And so in a couple weeks, Judy and I are

  203. Joedy Melashenko: and 50 missionaries are heading to Fiji

  204. Joedy Melashenko: to conduct an evangelistic series and build a school.

  205. Joedy Melashenko: So

  206. Joedy Melashenko: we want you to keep that on your prayer list.

  207. Joedy Melashenko: The

  208. Joedy Melashenko: um

  209. Joedy Melashenko: the reality is

  210. Joedy Melashenko: the world that we live in today

  211. Joedy Melashenko: Especially for young people.

  212. Joedy Melashenko: And I don't want to go crosser

  213. Joedy Melashenko: with any kids here because my whole ministry was

  214. Joedy Melashenko: directed to young people.

  215. Joedy Melashenko: But the young people from North America, from many of the Western cultures, have it so good they don't understand how good they've got it.

  216. Joedy Melashenko: Here in America, we have so much stuff

  217. Joedy Melashenko: we don't want to do with it all.

  218. Joedy Melashenko: If you were an entrepreneur and had a little bit of a entrepreneurial spirit 30, 35

  219. Joedy Melashenko: years ago.

  220. Joedy Melashenko: And you had

  221. Joedy Melashenko: invested

  222. Joedy Melashenko: in the U

  223. Joedy Melashenko: store

  224. Joedy Melashenko: it

  225. Joedy Melashenko: facilities

  226. Joedy Melashenko: where people rent a place to store their stuff.

  227. Joedy Melashenko: Because they

  228. Joedy Melashenko: got so much stuff they don't have room for it at home.

  229. Joedy Melashenko: You know what I'm talking about?

  230. Joedy Melashenko: You'd

  231. Joedy Melashenko: become a very wealthy person.

  232. Joedy Melashenko: And young people here in our culture

  233. Joedy Melashenko: In fact, not only

  234. Joedy Melashenko: young people, but many of you old senior citizens out there this morning, every time you turn the radio or every time you open a magazine or television,

  235. Joedy Melashenko: The message that the world shouts to us goes something like this.

  236. Joedy Melashenko: Get it bigger, better, and faster than the other guy, and that'll guarantee your happiness.

  237. Joedy Melashenko: Are you with me?

  238. Joedy Melashenko: Get it bigger, better, and faster than the other guy.

  239. Joedy Melashenko: We spend most of our time, most of our years, if we're really honest with ourselves.

  240. Joedy Melashenko: Trying to keep up with the bigger, better, and faster stuff that keeps coming out.

  241. Joedy Melashenko: Do you think um

  242. Joedy Melashenko: iPhone was happy for iPhone 1?

  243. Joedy Melashenko: How many

  244. Joedy Melashenko: how many generations

  245. Joedy Melashenko: that

  246. Joedy Melashenko: was

  247. Joedy Melashenko: iPhone

  248. Joedy Melashenko: 17 now, whatever?

  249. Joedy Melashenko: I was in a

  250. Joedy Melashenko: cell phone store the other day getting my phone worked on and

  251. Joedy Melashenko: You know, here's this young person.

  252. Joedy Melashenko: They're plunking down twelve

  253. Joedy Melashenko: hundred dollars for the new iPhone.

  254. Joedy Melashenko: I was reminded

  255. Joedy Melashenko: About all the stuff we have.

  256. Joedy Melashenko: When my mom and dad got to the place where

  257. Joedy Melashenko: they needed to be moved in an assisted living facility.

  258. Joedy Melashenko: And my brother Rudy and I, by the way, we lived

  259. Joedy Melashenko: in Paradise, California and sold our home in Paradise, California

  260. Joedy Melashenko: five months before that fire took everything.

  261. Joedy Melashenko: before we moved down here to Sun City West.

  262. Joedy Melashenko: But before that fire took everything, my mom and dad went to this assisted living place, and so we're starting to go through their stuff.

  263. Joedy Melashenko: in the garage to sort things out and find out what we can give to the Dorcas

  264. Joedy Melashenko: Society and what we

  265. Joedy Melashenko: can.

  266. Joedy Melashenko: Okay, my parents

  267. Joedy Melashenko: were

  268. Joedy Melashenko: products

  269. Joedy Melashenko: of the Depression era.

  270. Joedy Melashenko: What do you do

  271. Joedy Melashenko: with

  272. Joedy Melashenko: five hundred

  273. Joedy Melashenko: empty cottage cheese containers?

  274. Joedy Melashenko: What do you do with

  275. Joedy Melashenko: 20 gallons, big

  276. Joedy Melashenko: five-gallon buckets of rusted nails, and on and on and on?

  277. Joedy Melashenko: So

  278. Joedy Melashenko: My brother Rudy and I were, we had the

  279. Joedy Melashenko: joy

  280. Joedy Melashenko: of hauling one load after another of stuff to the dump.

  281. Joedy Melashenko: Now they don't call it a dump anymore.

  282. Joedy Melashenko: They call it a landfill.

  283. Joedy Melashenko: And they call it a landfill because that sounds so more earth-friendly.

  284. Joedy Melashenko: Have any of you been to a landfill lately?

  285. Joedy Melashenko: It's a dump, okay?

  286. Joedy Melashenko: It's a dump.

  287. Joedy Melashenko: And here

  288. Joedy Melashenko: people come.

  289. Joedy Melashenko: What was interesting.

  290. Joedy Melashenko: The guy that was directing traffic back up into here, he says,

  291. Joedy Melashenko: let me guess.

  292. Joedy Melashenko: You're going through your folks' stuff, huh?

  293. Joedy Melashenko: I said, Yeah, that's right.

  294. Joedy Melashenko: He says, You don't have any idea.

  295. Joedy Melashenko: How many people I meet

  296. Joedy Melashenko: who have to go through their stuff

  297. Joedy Melashenko: because their parents have gone.

  298. Joedy Melashenko: What was it

  299. Joedy Melashenko: really interesting though?

  300. Joedy Melashenko: One of the buildings.

  301. Joedy Melashenko: I mean, there are stacks of old tires and stacks of old appliances and bicycles and

  302. Joedy Melashenko: but they got this building over here

  303. Joedy Melashenko: that is called the Electronic Recycling Building.

  304. Joedy Melashenko: And that's where they take old computers and stuff and they pull stuff, whatever they can use.

  305. Joedy Melashenko: What was interesting

  306. Joedy Melashenko: as we were unloading some stuff, here's a

  307. Joedy Melashenko: An elder

  308. Joedy Melashenko: the gentleman and his younger son.

  309. Joedy Melashenko: They back

  310. Joedy Melashenko: up with a pickup truck to the electronic recycling

  311. Joedy Melashenko: And they've got this massive

  312. Joedy Melashenko: television set.

  313. Joedy Melashenko: Now it wasn't a high definition.

  314. Joedy Melashenko: It was one of these old style, you know, it's a boat anchor is what it was.

  315. Joedy Melashenko: I mean

  316. Joedy Melashenko: they

  317. Joedy Melashenko: weighed a ton.

  318. Joedy Melashenko: Took two of them to unload it.

  319. Joedy Melashenko: It worked just fine, but you see it's not bigger, better, and faster anymore.

  320. Joedy Melashenko: And so that that went to the dump.

  321. Joedy Melashenko: You're following me, aren't you?

  322. Joedy Melashenko: Friends?

  323. Joedy Melashenko: That's a hamster wheel.

  324. Joedy Melashenko: That's a squirrel cage.

  325. Joedy Melashenko: You never stop running.

  326. Joedy Melashenko: But here's the interesting thing.

  327. Joedy Melashenko: Many of these young people that have gone on these mission trips with us.

  328. Joedy Melashenko: Who've been told you need the bigger, better, and faster stuff to be happy.

  329. Joedy Melashenko: When they go into a country

  330. Joedy Melashenko: and they meet young people

  331. Joedy Melashenko: and they meet individuals

  332. Joedy Melashenko: who have absolutely nothing.

  333. Joedy Melashenko: And they're just a whole lot happier than we are.

  334. Joedy Melashenko: Something wonderful happens in many of those young people's lives.

  335. Joedy Melashenko: They come to realize what really, really is important in this journey, and it's not stuff.

  336. Joedy Melashenko: So, if it's not stuff, then what is it?

  337. Joedy Melashenko: A youth pastor

  338. Joedy Melashenko: friend

  339. Joedy Melashenko: and I were having breakfast together.

  340. Joedy Melashenko: I was youth pastor at the Carmichael Church in Sacramento

  341. Joedy Melashenko: for years, and

  342. Joedy Melashenko: we were having breakfast, and he started kind of shaking his head.

  343. Joedy Melashenko: He said, I'm I'm really not looking forward to the church board meeting tonight.

  344. Joedy Melashenko: He said, because

  345. Joedy Melashenko: our church is

  346. Joedy Melashenko: business session, they have decided to place a curse on me.

  347. Joedy Melashenko: And that curse happens to be that I'm going to be the coordinator of the church remodeling project.

  348. Joedy Melashenko: I

  349. Joedy Melashenko: see.

  350. Joedy Melashenko: I don't need to say anything else.

  351. Joedy Melashenko: And he said so, the reality is

  352. Joedy Melashenko: this.

  353. Joedy Melashenko: We got a whole bunch of the church members that want

  354. Joedy Melashenko: blue carpet.

  355. Joedy Melashenko: And this group here wants green carpet

  356. Joedy Melashenko: and the blue carpet people have given more than the green carpet people and it's gonna be war.

  357. Joedy Melashenko: So I turned to my friend

  358. Joedy Melashenko: Jim and I said, Jim, I didn't come up with this, but somebody shared this motto with me, and I've adopted it for everything

  359. Joedy Melashenko: I do in this journey called life.

  360. Joedy Melashenko: Whether it's with my family, whether it's with my friends, whether it's on the golf course, whatever it is, that motto goes like this.

  361. Joedy Melashenko: The main

  362. Joedy Melashenko: thing is that the main thing is the main thing.

  363. Joedy Melashenko: Did God send his

  364. Joedy Melashenko: son

  365. Joedy Melashenko: Jesus

  366. Joedy Melashenko: down to this earth so you could argue about the color of the carpeting?

  367. Joedy Melashenko: No.

  368. Joedy Melashenko: And so we ask ourselves this morning

  369. Joedy Melashenko: the main

  370. Joedy Melashenko: thing.

  371. Joedy Melashenko: Our dear brother Danny there asks, why are we here?

  372. Joedy Melashenko: What's the main thing?

  373. Joedy Melashenko: What's the purpose for church?

  374. Joedy Melashenko: Well, the main thing is made very, very clear in the Gospels.

  375. Joedy Melashenko: When Jesus himself

  376. Joedy Melashenko: declared what we call the Great Gospel Commission, we read in Matthew 16, go there for, go into the whole world and preach the good news to everyone.

  377. Joedy Melashenko: Well that's pretty simple.

  378. Joedy Melashenko: And then I think since we've all been in crin

  379. Joedy Melashenko: kindergarten, we memorized Matthew 24, 14

  380. Joedy Melashenko: that says

  381. Joedy Melashenko: this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world

  382. Joedy Melashenko: as a witness unto all nations, and then the end shall

  383. Joedy Melashenko: come.

  384. Joedy Melashenko: But there's part of that verse that's very troubling to my spirit, and that happens to be this word

  385. Joedy Melashenko: all, because

  386. Joedy Melashenko: there are parts of this world you can't get there from here.

  387. Joedy Melashenko: And there are parts of this world

  388. Joedy Melashenko: you wouldn't

  389. Joedy Melashenko: you wouldn't want to be there

  390. Joedy Melashenko: because as a Westerner you'd last

  391. Joedy Melashenko: two minutes.

  392. Joedy Melashenko: But the Lord says, all the world.

  393. Joedy Melashenko: That passage of scripture that Judy read earlier, I'm going to repeat it to you

  394. Joedy Melashenko: because there's actually in this scripture

  395. Joedy Melashenko: The Apostle Paul, he wrote this letter to the Roman Church after his third missionary journey, and the Apostle Paul had such a passion for Jesus.

  396. Joedy Melashenko: He has such a passion to share the good news of the gospel.

  397. Joedy Melashenko: He literally shared the gospel in the then-known world.

  398. Joedy Melashenko: And if you've ever traced the footsteps of Paul and see

  399. Joedy Melashenko: where he went

  400. Joedy Melashenko: in those journeys, unbelievable.

  401. Joedy Melashenko: And so he gets back from his third missionary journey, and he has a letter that he's sending to the Roman church, and he says

  402. Joedy Melashenko: ,

  403. Joedy Melashenko: Now, you know.

  404. Joedy Melashenko: I

  405. Joedy Melashenko: wish Paul could stand up here this morning

  406. Joedy Melashenko: because

  407. Joedy Melashenko: he makes the gospel about

  408. Joedy Melashenko: as plain as you can make it

  409. Joedy Melashenko: right here.

  410. Joedy Melashenko: Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

  411. Joedy Melashenko: Well then we add all this other stuff to it.

  412. Joedy Melashenko: Friends, if Jesus Christ is your Savior and Lord, you c

  413. Joedy Melashenko: you can have the assurance of your salvation.

  414. Joedy Melashenko: If you know Jesus, you're saved.

  415. Joedy Melashenko: End of discussion.

  416. Joedy Melashenko: But then

  417. Joedy Melashenko: he adds these

  418. Joedy Melashenko: four questions.

  419. Joedy Melashenko: And

  420. Joedy Melashenko: they get more and more intense through these verses.

  421. Joedy Melashenko: But how can they call on him

  422. Joedy Melashenko: unless they believe on him?

  423. Joedy Melashenko: And how can they believe in him

  424. Joedy Melashenko: if they never heard about him?

  425. Joedy Melashenko: And then

  426. Joedy Melashenko: and how can they hear about him unless someone goes and tells him?

  427. Joedy Melashenko: And then how

  428. Joedy Melashenko: anyone go and tell them without being sent?

  429. Joedy Melashenko: You get the intensity of his

  430. Joedy Melashenko: Friends, I am so

  431. Joedy Melashenko: grateful

  432. Joedy Melashenko: to be a part of a church

  433. Joedy Melashenko: that still is sending out missionaries

  434. Joedy Melashenko: that are sending out people to share the good news of the gospel in some of the most remote parts of the world.

  435. Joedy Melashenko: Now, I'm just gonna cue my friends back there at the booth.

  436. Joedy Melashenko: Bye, I want to lift them all up.

  437. Joedy Melashenko: You got a great group of people here.

  438. Joedy Melashenko: Uh

  439. Joedy Melashenko: they're they're flying a 747

  440. Joedy Melashenko: this morning.

  441. Joedy Melashenko: It's a brand new sound system and they've made it work really, really good.

  442. Joedy Melashenko: But they said, you know, we've only

  443. Joedy Melashenko: had experience buying a pipe or cub, so we're we're gonna have to learn and curve

  444. Joedy Melashenko: it.

  445. Joedy Melashenko: But we have a video I want to show to you right now.

  446. Joedy Melashenko: Let's go ahead and show it.

  447. Joedy Melashenko: We need sound.

  448. Joedy Melashenko: Let's start it from the beginning again and we can bring the level down just a little bit.

  449. Joedy Melashenko: And this

  450. Joedy Melashenko: gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world

  451. Joedy Melashenko: as a witness unto all nations, and then shall the end come.

  452. Joedy Melashenko: Join us now for a journey that may change forever your

  453. Joedy Melashenko: understanding of foreign mission work and the fulfillment of the Great Commission.

  454. Joedy Melashenko: Today, we travel to an area of the world largely ignored by Christians.

  455. Joedy Melashenko: Known as the 1040 window, it's located between 10 and 40 degrees north latitude in the eastern hemisphere.

  456. Joedy Melashenko: It stretches from North Africa toward the rising sun, across the Middle East, India, China, and southward

  457. Joedy Melashenko: to catch Thailand and the Philippine Islands.

  458. Joedy Melashenko: All

  459. Joedy Melashenko: told, nearly 70 countries lie within this window.

  460. Joedy Melashenko: The area accounts for one-third of the world's land mass

  461. Joedy Melashenko: Yet more than five billion people live here.

  462. Joedy Melashenko: That's two-thirds of the world's population.

  463. Joedy Melashenko: Poverty, hunger, illness?

  464. Joedy Melashenko: Illiteracy, oppression, idol worship, fear, and hopelessness are ways of life for many.

  465. Joedy Melashenko: Dominant religions include Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism.

  466. Joedy Melashenko: Worldwide, an estimated 3.

  467. Joedy Melashenko: 2 billion people

  468. Joedy Melashenko: have yet to hear the gospel.

  469. Joedy Melashenko: If you were to guess what percentage of these unreached people live in the 1040 window, what would you say?

  470. Joedy Melashenko: 40%?

  471. Joedy Melashenko: 60%?

  472. Joedy Melashenko: 80%?

  473. Joedy Melashenko: Actually, the stunning answer is 97

  474. Joedy Melashenko: %.

  475. Joedy Melashenko: Virtually all of the world's unreached people

  476. Joedy Melashenko: live in the 1040 window.

  477. Joedy Melashenko: We've shared the gospel close to home, but have left one final

  478. Joedy Melashenko: frontier for evangelism.

  479. Joedy Melashenko: Millions of people in the 1040 window haven't, even once, had a chance to hear the gospel.

  480. Joedy Melashenko: Despite the great need in the 1040 window,

  481. Joedy Melashenko: Less than 2%

  482. Joedy Melashenko: of Christian mission giving goes here.

  483. Joedy Melashenko: There is enough evangelism taking place today to reach the world dozens of times.

  484. Joedy Melashenko: Unfortunately, most of it is happening among people who have already heard the gospel.

  485. Joedy Melashenko: In all candor and to our continuing shame.

  486. Joedy Melashenko: Let us admit that the world's perishing unreached people are very seldom mentioned or thought about in almost all churches.

  487. Joedy Melashenko: Gospel Outreach was founded in 1993 to help introduce people to Jesus in the 1040 window.

  488. Joedy Melashenko: The all-volunteers staff works closely with the church.

  489. Joedy Melashenko: The goal?

  490. Joedy Melashenko: Raise

  491. Joedy Melashenko: funds to support indigenous evangelists and Bible workers.

  492. Joedy Melashenko: These workers are hired and trained by local church conferences.

  493. Joedy Melashenko: Through the Gospel Outreach Adopt a Worker program, a worker can be sponsored for $150 U.

  494. Joedy Melashenko: S.

  495. Joedy Melashenko: dollars monthly.

  496. Joedy Melashenko: Compared to foreign missionaries coming into a country, indigenous workers have many advantages.

  497. Joedy Melashenko: They already know the culture, the religion, the language, the traditions, and the people.

  498. Joedy Melashenko: Gospel outreach is the heartbeat of the South Asia Division.

  499. Joedy Melashenko: Hundreds of thousands of people have given their hearts to Jesus and chosen to be baptized as a result of Gospel Outreach Sponsored Workers.

  500. Joedy Melashenko: Not only are these Bible workers effective, they are also efficient.

  501. Joedy Melashenko: On average, very few dollars invested in their work results in a decision for Jesus that leads to baptism.

  502. Joedy Melashenko: In the 1040 window, millions and millions of honest-hearted people are searching.

  503. Joedy Melashenko: They need hope.

  504. Joedy Melashenko: They need the savior

  505. Joedy Melashenko: Yet they have never had the chance to hear the story of Jesus.

  506. Joedy Melashenko: Today

  507. Joedy Melashenko: it's up to us to make a difference.

  508. Joedy Melashenko: We must help hasten the Lord's return.

  509. Joedy Melashenko: We

  510. Joedy Melashenko: believe

  511. Joedy Melashenko: let's act

  512. Joedy Melashenko: Now I have a question.

  513. Joedy Melashenko: How many of you

  514. Joedy Melashenko: up until this

  515. Joedy Melashenko: moment

  516. Joedy Melashenko: have never heard about gospel outreach?

  517. Joedy Melashenko: Can I see your hands?

  518. Joedy Melashenko: There's a number of you.

  519. Joedy Melashenko: Unfortunately, I think it's the church's best kept secret.

  520. Joedy Melashenko: But I know my wife and I

  521. Joedy Melashenko: we

  522. Joedy Melashenko: we retired from full-time ministry about ten

  523. Joedy Melashenko: years ago and

  524. Joedy Melashenko: God opened the door for us to continue using our music and preaching ministry

  525. Joedy Melashenko: to reach churches and camp meetings and other venues

  526. Joedy Melashenko: to share what this incredible ministry is doing.

  527. Joedy Melashenko: Now, when I first heard the statistics

  528. Joedy Melashenko: that were shared, 97

  529. Joedy Melashenko: %

  530. Joedy Melashenko: of the people that don't know about Jesus

  531. Joedy Melashenko: Live in the 1040 window and yet we only give about two

  532. Joedy Melashenko: percent of our evangelistic efforts to to reach them.

  533. Joedy Melashenko: Now I'm happy to tell you

  534. Joedy Melashenko: that's percentages

  535. Joedy Melashenko: for Christian churches.

  536. Joedy Melashenko: The Adventist Church does quite a bit better than that.

  537. Joedy Melashenko: Your pastor, I'd

  538. Joedy Melashenko: love to sit and chat with him.

  539. Joedy Melashenko: I'm gonna have a chance this afternoon.

  540. Joedy Melashenko: He served in one of the regions in the 1040 window in Vietnam and Mongolia

  541. Joedy Melashenko: and

  542. Joedy Melashenko: In 1993, when gospel outreach was first

  543. Joedy Melashenko: started, I was a young pastor in the Oregon Conference.

  544. Joedy Melashenko: And there was two retired pastors, Pastor Frank and Pastor Edgar.

  545. Joedy Melashenko: Pastor Edgar was

  546. Joedy Melashenko: from the Philippines.

  547. Joedy Melashenko: And he said, we have some remote islands in the Philippines that desperately need to hear the gospel.

  548. Joedy Melashenko: So

  549. Joedy Melashenko: the Oregon Conference at that time

  550. Joedy Melashenko: They took some of the evangelism funds and they sponsored five or six Bible workers

  551. Joedy Melashenko: in that region of the world, and the rest is history.

  552. Joedy Melashenko: That term

  553. Joedy Melashenko: 1040 window, I think most of us have become familiar with it.

  554. Joedy Melashenko: It's 10 degrees north, 40 degrees north latitude in the eastern hemisphere.

  555. Joedy Melashenko: There are many, many countries in that region

  556. Joedy Melashenko: that you and I could not go to without putting our life at risk.

  557. Joedy Melashenko: I'm going to be sharing some things with you this morning.

  558. Joedy Melashenko: You have to be careful who you share it with.

  559. Joedy Melashenko: And I have to

  560. Joedy Melashenko: remain kind of anonymous.

  561. Joedy Melashenko: But the things that are happening right now.

  562. Joedy Melashenko: Especially

  563. Joedy Melashenko: in

  564. Joedy Melashenko: the

  565. Joedy Melashenko: radical

  566. Joedy Melashenko: Muslim countries.

  567. Joedy Melashenko: I'll just leave it at that.

  568. Joedy Melashenko: So

  569. Joedy Melashenko: here's some statistics.

  570. Joedy Melashenko: Through gospel outreach, in the 30-some years they've been in ministry

  571. Joedy Melashenko: ,

  572. Joedy Melashenko: Their gospel

  573. Joedy Melashenko: Bible workers have added about two

  574. Joedy Melashenko: million members to the Adventist Church.

  575. Joedy Melashenko: These are volunteers.

  576. Joedy Melashenko: These are laymen

  577. Joedy Melashenko: that we put

  578. Joedy Melashenko: through training centers

  579. Joedy Melashenko: to our training facilities.

  580. Joedy Melashenko: These are the ones that are tent makers and the

  581. Joedy Melashenko: they

  582. Joedy Melashenko: they

  583. Joedy Melashenko: know how to reach their people.

  584. Joedy Melashenko: And I think you probably caught that in the um

  585. Joedy Melashenko: in the video.

  586. Joedy Melashenko: Um

  587. Joedy Melashenko: We

  588. Joedy Melashenko: now have

  589. Joedy Melashenko: 400, close to 2,500 Bible workers that are in 54

  590. Joedy Melashenko: of the 70 countries in the 1040 window.

  591. Joedy Melashenko: I can't tell you the country because it would put our Bible workers at risk.

  592. Joedy Melashenko: But one of the countries had not had a Christian presence in decades.

  593. Joedy Melashenko: And

  594. Joedy Melashenko: we sent

  595. Joedy Melashenko: 40 Bible workers into that country.

  596. Joedy Melashenko: Four years later, they have a membership of over 80,000.

  597. Joedy Melashenko: In four years.

  598. Joedy Melashenko: 40 Bible workers.

  599. Joedy Melashenko: Now, I have to watch what I say.

  600. Joedy Melashenko: But the cost to sponsor those 40 Bible workers who resulted in 70 or

  601. Joedy Melashenko: 80,000 baptisms

  602. Joedy Melashenko: If you would look at the cost for those Bible workers, it's the same as one full-time pastor here

  603. Joedy Melashenko: in North America.

  604. Joedy Melashenko: There's a lot of people that say, you know what?

  605. Joedy Melashenko: If I have some discretional giving, if I've got some money in my evangelism budget, I know where I'm sending it.

  606. Joedy Melashenko: You

  607. Joedy Melashenko: talk

  608. Joedy Melashenko: about the bang for the buck.

  609. Joedy Melashenko: Unbelievable.

  610. Joedy Melashenko: We'll be sharing a few

  611. Joedy Melashenko: that you know the the wonderful thing about

  612. Joedy Melashenko: I can

  613. Joedy Melashenko: I

  614. Joedy Melashenko: remembered

  615. Joedy Melashenko: When I listen to this video again, I think I was maybe twelve or thirteen years old

  616. Joedy Melashenko: at the Southern New England camp meeting in South Lancaster, Massachusetts, where a family began our ministry together.

  617. Joedy Melashenko: Singing and preaching.

  618. Joedy Melashenko: And um

  619. Joedy Melashenko: used to love going at camp meeting

  620. Joedy Melashenko: in the evening, especially

  621. Joedy Melashenko: when you knew a return missionary was going to come.

  622. Joedy Melashenko: and was going to share it right up the frontline

  623. Joedy Melashenko: story about what was happening in the mission field.

  624. Joedy Melashenko: And if any of you have ever heard

  625. Joedy Melashenko: Eric B.

  626. Joedy Melashenko: Hare

  627. Joedy Melashenko: or Josephine Cunnington Edwards and these incredible storytellers

  628. Joedy Melashenko: You'll know that they brought mission life right to the front row.

  629. Joedy Melashenko: I remember listening to a a couple, I don't remember what country they're from, but I do remember they said something like this.

  630. Joedy Melashenko: You know, my wife and I, we've been in such and such a country for seven or eight years, and we're just starting to learn the language, and we're starting to understand the culture.

  631. Joedy Melashenko: And in my little 12 and 13-year-old brain, you know what

  632. Joedy Melashenko: thought went through?

  633. Joedy Melashenko: Lord, don't you have some local folk down there that we could train

  634. Joedy Melashenko: and teach

  635. Joedy Melashenko: because they have

  636. Joedy Melashenko: they understand the language

  637. Joedy Melashenko: They understand the culture, they

  638. Joedy Melashenko: know the traditions, they

  639. Joedy Melashenko: know the people.

  640. Joedy Melashenko: That is exactly the philosophy why gospel outreach was started.

  641. Joedy Melashenko: And I don't want to get myself in trouble, but the days of sending Westerners into many of these third world countries to try to westernize them, those days are gone.

  642. Joedy Melashenko: We need to respect and understand the people's culture and their traditions.

  643. Joedy Melashenko: And that's what these Bible workers are able to do in incredible ways.

  644. Joedy Melashenko: So here's

  645. Joedy Melashenko: typical.

  646. Joedy Melashenko: Bible worker

  647. Joedy Melashenko: meeting people and they're very, very remote.

  648. Joedy Melashenko: Very simple homes up in the foothills

  649. Joedy Melashenko: One of the very effective tools that they use is they conduct medical clinics, health clinics in the local fair, the local town square, and here the people come.

  650. Joedy Melashenko: And and the Bible workers become known as the as the health outreach ministers in their communities.

  651. Joedy Melashenko: We even have some of them working in some of the refugee camps.

  652. Joedy Melashenko: And if you want to see destitution,

  653. Joedy Melashenko: Unbelievable.

  654. Joedy Melashenko: That's their baptist

  655. Joedy Melashenko: that that's their

  656. Joedy Melashenko: baptistry for many of them.

  657. Joedy Melashenko: They meet people on the front steps

  658. Joedy Melashenko: in their homes, on their porch, or in the town square.

  659. Joedy Melashenko: Wherever they can meet people, they're out there sharing the good news of salvation.

  660. Joedy Melashenko: Now

  661. Joedy Melashenko: There is

  662. Joedy Melashenko: an interesting picture I want to show you right now.

  663. Joedy Melashenko: This happens to be a picture, the country that has the largest number of gospel outreach Bible workers.

  664. Joedy Melashenko: is in India.

  665. Joedy Melashenko: We have about over a thousand

  666. Joedy Melashenko: Bible workers there.

  667. Joedy Melashenko: And the work in India has just exploded, but it's becoming more and more challenging and I'll share that with you in a minute.

  668. Joedy Melashenko: But these are the Bible workers that came to get new training, learning new techniques, and a story emerged from those meetings.

  669. Joedy Melashenko: The man that you see kneeling, his name is Pastor C.

  670. Joedy Melashenko: J.

  671. Joedy Melashenko: Saman.

  672. Joedy Melashenko: Pastor Saman

  673. Joedy Melashenko: was a ministerial

  674. Joedy Melashenko: secretary, ministerial director for all of the Pentecostal churches in India.

  675. Joedy Melashenko: He oversaw thousands of the Pentecostal churches in India.

  676. Joedy Melashenko: He was reading his Bible

  677. Joedy Melashenko: and he kept

  678. Joedy Melashenko: Hearing a message that just

  679. Joedy Melashenko: it convicted his spirit, I need to understand more

  680. Joedy Melashenko: about the Sabbath.

  681. Joedy Melashenko: And so he prayed, Lord, I'm having a hard time understanding, but I just keep reading it throughout the Old and New

  682. Joedy Melashenko: Testament.

  683. Joedy Melashenko: I need more understanding.

  684. Joedy Melashenko: Send someone that can help me.

  685. Joedy Melashenko: Two days later, he meets two gospel

  686. Joedy Melashenko: Bible workers, and they start talking.

  687. Joedy Melashenko: And he starts asking them some questions, and he discovered that these Bible workers

  688. Joedy Melashenko: They could share some insights theologically about the Sabbath, about the state, and so forth.

  689. Joedy Melashenko: And so he started, he set up some Bible studies.

  690. Joedy Melashenko: And every day, for months, these Bible workers met

  691. Joedy Melashenko: with

  692. Joedy Melashenko: Brother

  693. Joedy Melashenko: C.

  694. Joedy Melashenko: J.

  695. Joedy Melashenko: Simon.

  696. Joedy Melashenko: About six months later

  697. Joedy Melashenko: Pastor Simon stood up before his church congregation

  698. Joedy Melashenko: and he said, Brothers and sisters, I have an announcement I need

  699. Joedy Melashenko: to make today.

  700. Joedy Melashenko: It's not an announcement I want to make, but

  701. Joedy Melashenko: I have to resign my position as your pastor.

  702. Joedy Melashenko: They love

  703. Joedy Melashenko: this man.

  704. Joedy Melashenko: You're going to resign.

  705. Joedy Melashenko: Why?

  706. Joedy Melashenko: I've discovered some truths in Scripture

  707. Joedy Melashenko: that are not consistent with

  708. Joedy Melashenko: the theology of this church.

  709. Joedy Melashenko: Well, Brother Simon,

  710. Joedy Melashenko: you can't resign until you share with us this new truth that you've heard, that you've understood.

  711. Joedy Melashenko: So

  712. Joedy Melashenko: for the next number of months, Pastor CJ

  713. Joedy Melashenko: Simon

  714. Joedy Melashenko: is sharing the good news of the three angels

  715. Joedy Melashenko: message to his church family.

  716. Joedy Melashenko: The entire church gets baptized.

  717. Joedy Melashenko: And now that church, they took the sign down.

  718. Joedy Melashenko: It's an Adventist church.

  719. Joedy Melashenko: And his mission is now to reach every Pentecostal pastor.

  720. Joedy Melashenko: in India

  721. Joedy Melashenko: to share with of the good news that he has

  722. Joedy Melashenko: he has come to understand.

  723. Joedy Melashenko: That's how God is working.

  724. Joedy Melashenko: Powerful.

  725. Joedy Melashenko: The challenge is, Prime

  726. Joedy Melashenko: Minister Modi

  727. Joedy Melashenko: is a militant Hindu, and he has convinced his parliament.

  728. Joedy Melashenko: to outlaw any non-Hindu organizations from his country.

  729. Joedy Melashenko: And so in the last five years, more than 2,000 non-Hindu organizations

  730. Joedy Melashenko: Have been banned from India

  731. Joedy Melashenko: because they

  732. Joedy Melashenko: claim they're accusing these Christian organizations

  733. Joedy Melashenko: of buying converts.

  734. Joedy Melashenko: And unfortunately, many of these

  735. Joedy Melashenko: organizations, they'll offer twenty

  736. Joedy Melashenko: or fifty dollars to a family to join their church, and that's a month's wages for them.

  737. Joedy Melashenko: And

  738. Joedy Melashenko: now thankfully the Adventist Church doesn't do that.

  739. Joedy Melashenko: There are only four main organizations left in India that are Christian organizations.

  740. Joedy Melashenko: Pentecostals, the Baptists, the Lutherans, and the Seventh-day Adventists.

  741. Joedy Melashenko: And what we're doing in India, because

  742. Joedy Melashenko: we

  743. Joedy Melashenko: want

  744. Joedy Melashenko: the Indian

  745. Joedy Melashenko: people to understand that

  746. Joedy Melashenko: as Seventh-day Adventists, we're giving more than we're taking.

  747. Joedy Melashenko: And so we're training all of the

  748. Joedy Melashenko: spouses, the wives of the gospel

  749. Joedy Melashenko: outreach

  750. Joedy Melashenko: Bible workers

  751. Joedy Melashenko: to be health educators, to trade them in the right arm of the gospel.

  752. Joedy Melashenko: There's an organization up in Portland, Oregon called Ultimate

  753. Joedy Melashenko: Missions, and they've already trained over a hundred of our Bible workers' wives in India.

  754. Joedy Melashenko: And those those health workers, they'll go into a village before that they even move into the village and they become recognized that they are an emergency room nurse.

  755. Joedy Melashenko: They're

  756. Joedy Melashenko: uh

  757. Joedy Melashenko: What do you call the

  758. Joedy Melashenko: midwife?

  759. Joedy Melashenko: Midwife.

  760. Joedy Melashenko: Thank you there.

  761. Joedy Melashenko: They become known as the health experts in the community.

  762. Joedy Melashenko: And then when the husbands come in and they start announcing, you know, these

  763. Joedy Melashenko: these meetings, it's it's just fabulous what's happening.

  764. Joedy Melashenko: Thankfully, the Prime Minister has had to back off a little bit

  765. Joedy Melashenko: because now he has a coalition government he has to work with.

  766. Joedy Melashenko: And so they've backed off on some of their

  767. Joedy Melashenko: uh

  768. Joedy Melashenko: some

  769. Joedy Melashenko: of the organizations that they're banning from the country.

  770. Joedy Melashenko: But it's a very, it's a huge challenge in India.

  771. Joedy Melashenko: And I've got to

  772. Joedy Melashenko: I've got to move on here quickly because I've got

  773. Joedy Melashenko: that clock

  774. Joedy Melashenko: right.

  775. Joedy Melashenko: Well

  776. Joedy Melashenko: Do we need to take a motion?

  777. Joedy Melashenko: All in favor say aye.

  778. Joedy Melashenko: It's opposed or it's carried.

  779. Joedy Melashenko: Okay, whatever.

  780. Joedy Melashenko: I want to show you

  781. Joedy Melashenko: one of my favorite pictures.

  782. Joedy Melashenko: This is a young 13-year-old

  783. Joedy Melashenko: young lady from India.

  784. Joedy Melashenko: And I don't want to get in the political scene here, but if you

  785. Joedy Melashenko: understand anything about

  786. Joedy Melashenko: India, even though the government has

  787. Joedy Melashenko: outlawed the caste system.

  788. Joedy Melashenko: The caste system, there's about eight different levels of castes in the Indian culture.

  789. Joedy Melashenko: And if you're born in the Brahmin caste, your

  790. Joedy Melashenko: wealth and your

  791. Joedy Melashenko: fame, but the people in the lower caste.

  792. Joedy Melashenko: You cannot buy your way out or educate your

  793. Joedy Melashenko: out of being in that lower caste.

  794. Joedy Melashenko: They've basically

  795. Joedy Melashenko: been predestined to be servants and slaves and whatever.

  796. Joedy Melashenko: And this young lady was from a lower caste.

  797. Joedy Melashenko: system

  798. Joedy Melashenko: family.

  799. Joedy Melashenko: All her life she's been told that women

  800. Joedy Melashenko: in their culture

  801. Joedy Melashenko: are worth less than

  802. Joedy Melashenko: a cow.

  803. Joedy Melashenko: The

  804. Joedy Melashenko: worse

  805. Joedy Melashenko: less than

  806. Joedy Melashenko: they're they're just

  807. Joedy Melashenko: you're like chattel.

  808. Joedy Melashenko: She goes to a gospel outreach

  809. Joedy Melashenko: group of meetings, and for the first time, this young lady hears that in Jesus

  810. Joedy Melashenko: There

  811. Joedy Melashenko: 's no Greek or slave, and they're Greek or Jew.

  812. Joedy Melashenko: There's no free or slave.

  813. Joedy Melashenko: There's no male or female

  814. Joedy Melashenko: that we all stand

  815. Joedy Melashenko: on equal ground in front of the cross.

  816. Joedy Melashenko: Can you see the happiness in her eyes?

  817. Joedy Melashenko: She's now a youth leader in her little church there

  818. Joedy Melashenko: where she gave her heart to Jesus.

  819. Joedy Melashenko: That's the good news of the gospel, friends.

  820. Joedy Melashenko: The request from India?

  821. Joedy Melashenko: They want

  822. Joedy Melashenko: 10,000 more Bible workers.

  823. Joedy Melashenko: Well, we've got 2,500 worldwide

  824. Joedy Melashenko: or the

  825. Joedy Melashenko: 1040 window.

  826. Joedy Melashenko: But

  827. Joedy Melashenko: I'm going to share now for a few minutes with you

  828. Joedy Melashenko: change cultures.

  829. Joedy Melashenko: In many of those radical countries in the 1040 window.

  830. Joedy Melashenko: For

  831. Joedy Melashenko: years, many

  832. Joedy Melashenko: truth-seeking Muslims

  833. Joedy Melashenko: have been experiencing dreams and visions.

  834. Joedy Melashenko: You can go onto a website called Dreams of Isa, ISA, that's their term for Messiah.

  835. Joedy Melashenko: Tens of thousands of reports of these people.

  836. Joedy Melashenko: Having dreams and

  837. Joedy Melashenko: all their dreams and visions are pretty much the same.

  838. Joedy Melashenko: It's a dream of a man robed in white

  839. Joedy Melashenko: with a golden crown,

  840. Joedy Melashenko: Bloodstains

  841. Joedy Melashenko: on his hand, and he turns and he says, Follow me.

  842. Joedy Melashenko: I'm the way, I'm the truth, I'm the light.

  843. Joedy Melashenko: Now you have to pause there because

  844. Joedy Melashenko: if you're a Muslim, you understand you pray five times a day, you repeat the prayer three times a day, three times, so

  845. Joedy Melashenko: fifteen

  846. Joedy Melashenko: times a day, you're praying.

  847. Joedy Melashenko: For

  848. Joedy Melashenko: Allah to show you the straight path.

  849. Joedy Melashenko: That's part of the prayer.

  850. Joedy Melashenko: Show me the way, the straight path.

  851. Joedy Melashenko: And now this messenger comes and said, I am the straight path.

  852. Joedy Melashenko: I am the way.

  853. Joedy Melashenko: So

  854. Joedy Melashenko: now many of the Bible workers, social

  855. Joedy Melashenko: media, whatever it takes, they put an advertisement.

  856. Joedy Melashenko: They say, Have you had a dream of a man in white?

  857. Joedy Melashenko: Now they're not saying anything about Jesus.

  858. Joedy Melashenko: They're not saying anything about Christianity, but thousands of these people now get together and they start comparing notes and they're discovering that their dreams are the same

  859. Joedy Melashenko: from

  860. Joedy Melashenko: the same source.

  861. Joedy Melashenko: Now this will thrill your hearts.

  862. Joedy Melashenko: Many of those same people

  863. Joedy Melashenko: are now having dreams of three angels.

  864. Joedy Melashenko: Flying through heaven.

  865. Joedy Melashenko: And the messenger turns to them and says, Find the people of the book that can explain this dream to you.

  866. Joedy Melashenko: Now, I don't know how many of you know anything about the Muslim culture, but in that culture, through Prophet

  867. Joedy Melashenko: during

  868. Joedy Melashenko: Prophet Muhammad, that near when

  869. Joedy Melashenko: just before Issa

  870. Joedy Melashenko: returns

  871. Joedy Melashenko: They are going to receive a special message from the people of the book.

  872. Joedy Melashenko: That's followers of Jesus.

  873. Joedy Melashenko: And many, many of those, and I don't have the time today

  874. Joedy Melashenko: this morning, but many, many of those imams, because when they find out

  875. Joedy Melashenko: that

  876. Joedy Melashenko: a

  877. Joedy Melashenko: Seventh-day Adventist

  878. Joedy Melashenko: Uh

  879. Joedy Melashenko: you don't eat pig?

  880. Joedy Melashenko: No.

  881. Joedy Melashenko: Uh you don't drink alcohol?

  882. Joedy Melashenko: No.

  883. Joedy Melashenko: Uh

  884. Joedy Melashenko: you don't

  885. Joedy Melashenko: You don't worship the Pope?

  886. Joedy Melashenko: No.

  887. Joedy Melashenko: You don't have big idols that you worship all around?

  888. Joedy Melashenko: No.

  889. Joedy Melashenko: And you dress modestly?

  890. Joedy Melashenko: You must be believers.

  891. Joedy Melashenko: So

  892. Joedy Melashenko: in the mind of a Muslim, a Christian

  893. Joedy Melashenko: is

  894. Joedy Melashenko: what I just listed.

  895. Joedy Melashenko: But as a Seventh-day Adventist, they refer to them as fellow believers.

  896. Joedy Melashenko: The word Christian has a negative connotation.

  897. Joedy Melashenko: They say,

  898. Joedy Melashenko: your

  899. Joedy Melashenko: fellow believers.

  900. Joedy Melashenko: The stories

  901. Joedy Melashenko: of

  902. Joedy Melashenko: things that are coming out of

  903. Joedy Melashenko: Iraq and Iran and Afghanistan

  904. Joedy Melashenko: and those countries, I'll just have to be careful.

  905. Joedy Melashenko: Our main

  906. Joedy Melashenko: um

  907. Joedy Melashenko: contact person

  908. Joedy Melashenko: in that region of the world, he has to remain anonymous.

  909. Joedy Melashenko: Because he's been involved in an underground

  910. Joedy Melashenko: um

  911. Joedy Melashenko: work

  912. Joedy Melashenko: to reach

  913. Joedy Melashenko: Muslims

  914. Joedy Melashenko: for many, many years.

  915. Joedy Melashenko: I talked to him on the phone just the other day.

  916. Joedy Melashenko: He said

  917. Joedy Melashenko: in Iran right now, especially northern Iran, which used to be Persia, still call it Persia, Persia used to be all Christian.

  918. Joedy Melashenko: He said there are literally still

  919. Joedy Melashenko: the hundreds and thousands of Persian Christians that can't wait for this regime to be taken over so they can have freedom of worship.

  920. Joedy Melashenko: That's all they want.

  921. Joedy Melashenko: Freedom of worship.

  922. Joedy Melashenko: And

  923. Joedy Melashenko: um

  924. Joedy Melashenko: this is not political, but

  925. Joedy Melashenko: these

  926. Joedy Melashenko: are people that have been praying

  927. Joedy Melashenko: that they'll have some kind of freedom

  928. Joedy Melashenko: sometime

  929. Joedy Melashenko: and with this whole crazy thing that's happening over there.

  930. Joedy Melashenko: But

  931. Joedy Melashenko: in that

  932. Joedy Melashenko: in that country, there have

  933. Joedy Melashenko: been literally hundreds of thousands

  934. Joedy Melashenko: of home churches that have sprung up

  935. Joedy Melashenko: That's the only way they can worship.

  936. Joedy Melashenko: They can't make an announcement, you know, we

  937. Joedy Melashenko: got a church down the road.

  938. Joedy Melashenko: Come and meet Jesus.

  939. Joedy Melashenko: It's all through home churches.

  940. Joedy Melashenko: Let me let me tell you

  941. Joedy Melashenko: one example of a story.

  942. Joedy Melashenko: Here is an Imam.

  943. Joedy Melashenko: Imam is their clerical leader among Muslims.

  944. Joedy Melashenko: He's walking in his village one day.

  945. Joedy Melashenko: And he has a dream.

  946. Joedy Melashenko: And the messenger says to him, very

  947. Joedy Melashenko: soon

  948. Joedy Melashenko: you're going to receive new light and new truth.

  949. Joedy Melashenko: End of the dream.

  950. Joedy Melashenko: Dream number two.

  951. Joedy Melashenko: A couple days later, he

  952. Joedy Melashenko: he met

  953. Joedy Melashenko: two

  954. Joedy Melashenko: Goswatreach Bible workers.

  955. Joedy Melashenko: Didn't know each other, they

  956. Joedy Melashenko: got started talking together, and um

  957. Joedy Melashenko: they departed.

  958. Joedy Melashenko: And as the emam was going home

  959. Joedy Melashenko: Dream number two happened, and the messenger said, those two men that you just met today, those are the men who are going to share with you new truth and new light.

  960. Joedy Melashenko: Well

  961. Joedy Melashenko: then I

  962. Joedy Melashenko: gotta find out where these guys live.

  963. Joedy Melashenko: So he found out where they lived.

  964. Joedy Melashenko: They got together

  965. Joedy Melashenko: and they started comparing

  966. Joedy Melashenko: the book

  967. Joedy Melashenko: and the Quran.

  968. Joedy Melashenko: But they had

  969. Joedy Melashenko: this Imam

  970. Joedy Melashenko: had some very, very

  971. Joedy Melashenko: difficult

  972. Joedy Melashenko: theological questions that these Bible workers couldn't answer.

  973. Joedy Melashenko: But

  974. Joedy Melashenko: they had a seminary professor at whatever university.

  975. Joedy Melashenko: If they ever got to a situation where they couldn't answer a question, call him and he'll he'll answer it for them.

  976. Joedy Melashenko: So he turned to the imam and he said

  977. Joedy Melashenko: We can't answer that question, but we have a good friend of ours.

  978. Joedy Melashenko: We have

  979. Joedy Melashenko: uh

  980. Joedy Melashenko: a scholar, a religious scholar that can

  981. Joedy Melashenko: explain it to you.

  982. Joedy Melashenko: And here's his cell phone number.

  983. Joedy Melashenko: And you

  984. Joedy Melashenko: probably all know

  985. Joedy Melashenko: everybody in this world has a cell phone, it seems like.

  986. Joedy Melashenko: So

  987. Joedy Melashenko: the imam, he gets on his phone, said

  988. Joedy Melashenko: said goodbye to the two Bible workers, gets on his phone to call.

  989. Joedy Melashenko: This

  990. Joedy Melashenko: seminary professor

  991. Joedy Melashenko: and

  992. Joedy Melashenko: no cell signaling

  993. Joedy Melashenko: couldn't get through.

  994. Joedy Melashenko: Now this is gonna make your hair stand up

  995. Joedy Melashenko: when I

  996. Joedy Melashenko: what I tell you.

  997. Joedy Melashenko: Dream number three

  998. Joedy Melashenko: Go

  999. Joedy Melashenko: at the back gate of your village

1000. Joedy Melashenko: up the hill

1001. Joedy Melashenko: where that big cypress

  1002. Joedy Melashenko: tree is.

1003. Joedy Melashenko: Climb up to the first limb of that cypress tree, and there you'll get a sell

1004. Joedy Melashenko: signal and you'll have your questions answered

  1005. Joedy Melashenko: Now

1006. Joedy Melashenko: friends, have an atheist or an agnostic explain that dream to you.

1007. Joedy Melashenko: So here's this imam

1008. Joedy Melashenko: now climbing up this tree

1009. Joedy Melashenko: for weeks now.

1010. Joedy Melashenko: You've been having these questions

  1011. Joedy Melashenko: about

1012. Joedy Melashenko: some of the doctrines.

1013. Joedy Melashenko: And now in that little village, we have a Muslim

1014. Joedy Melashenko: Seventh day Adventist home church.

1015. Joedy Melashenko: You see, we still respect the Muslim culture.

1016. Joedy Melashenko: They still pray five times a day, but they understand

1017. Joedy Melashenko: who Esau is.

1018. Joedy Melashenko: They understand who Jesus is.

1019. Joedy Melashenko: And they've now become believers.

1020. Joedy Melashenko: We can't really get an exact number of how our church has grown there, but it has grown

  1021. Joedy Melashenko: Unbelievably

1022. Joedy Melashenko: the numbers that they anticipate

1023. Joedy Melashenko: in the in the 1040 windows, there could be upwards of 250,000

  1024. Joedy Melashenko: Muslim

1025. Joedy Melashenko: Seventh-day Avenist home churches.

1026. Joedy Melashenko: I thought maybe that would get an amen, but it didn't.

1027. Joedy Melashenko: I'm not sure what I need to say.

1028. Joedy Melashenko: Gospel outreach, the amazing part of this ministry.

1029. Joedy Melashenko: It's an all

  1030. Joedy Melashenko: It's an all-volunteer organization.

1031. Joedy Melashenko: And here's a picture of some of our volunteers

  1032. Joedy Melashenko: out

1033. Joedy Melashenko: at our office in

1034. Joedy Melashenko: College Place, Washington, they're in Walla

  1035. Joedy Melashenko: Walla.

1036. Joedy Melashenko: And uh you'll notice they all share something in common.

  1037. Joedy Melashenko: Yeah.

1038. Joedy Melashenko: These are all retirees, school teachers, pastors, hospital administrators, physicians.

  1039. Joedy Melashenko: uh

1040. Joedy Melashenko: you name it, who've all

1041. Joedy Melashenko: decided, you know, I'm not ready to pull it, put the plow

  1042. Joedy Melashenko: down yet.

1043. Joedy Melashenko: And so as a volunteer organization, we have nobody on a payroll.

  1044. Joedy Melashenko: So

1045. Joedy Melashenko: five percent is all it costs for them to do administrative.

1046. Joedy Melashenko: That's to print whatever brochures and stuff.

1047. Joedy Melashenko: I don't want to get myself in trouble, but boy, don't you wish our conferences

1048. Joedy Melashenko: could maybe uh

1049. Joedy Melashenko: get a get a picture of what volunteers could do.

  1050. Joedy Melashenko: So

  1051. Joedy Melashenko: that 95

  1052. Joedy Melashenko: %

  1053. Joedy Melashenko: of donations

1054. Joedy Melashenko: go directly to those Bible workers.

1055. Joedy Melashenko: And what they're doing in the field is

  1056. Joedy Melashenko: just thrilling.

1057. Joedy Melashenko: I'm happy to tell you

  1058. Joedy Melashenko: gospel outreach.

  1059. Joedy Melashenko: Excuse me.

1060. Joedy Melashenko: Praise the Lord, we have some deep pockets.

1061. Joedy Melashenko: Our budget is about four and a half million dollars a year.

1062. Joedy Melashenko: Just a couple weeks ago, we got a donation from an estate of nearly two

  1063. Joedy Melashenko: million dollars.

1064. Joedy Melashenko: That's now going to give us

1065. Joedy Melashenko: the ability, because

1066. Joedy Melashenko: as soon as the doors open in Iran, we have a hundred

1067. Joedy Melashenko: Bible workers ready to go in.

  1068. Joedy Melashenko: And

1069. Joedy Melashenko: now we have the funds to do that.

  1070. Joedy Melashenko: And

  1071. Joedy Melashenko: um

1072. Joedy Melashenko: but most of the Bible workers, they're sponsored by people just like you and me who say, you know, I I can

  1073. Joedy Melashenko: I can afford $20

  1074. Joedy Melashenko: a month

1075. Joedy Melashenko: or I can afford $50

  1076. Joedy Melashenko: a month

  1077. Joedy Melashenko: or whatever.

  1078. Joedy Melashenko: So

1079. Joedy Melashenko: with that being said, they do not receive any funds from the General Conference

1080. Joedy Melashenko: or the Unions

1081. Joedy Melashenko: or the Division or the Conference.

1082. Joedy Melashenko: They are truly a faith-based ministry that is doing something unbelievable for God.

  1083. Joedy Melashenko: And

  1084. Joedy Melashenko: again,

  1085. Joedy Melashenko: Bible

  1086. Joedy Melashenko: work

1087. Joedy Melashenko: can be sponsored for $150 a month.

  1088. Joedy Melashenko: And

  1089. Joedy Melashenko: friends.

1090. Joedy Melashenko: In a few minutes, folks, I'm going to be queuing up that last song I'm going to do, hopefully.

1091. Joedy Melashenko: These Bible workers are just common, ordinary people, just like you and me.

1092. Joedy Melashenko: Who've decided they want to do something uncommon for Jesus.

1093. Joedy Melashenko: And so they put the

1094. Joedy Melashenko: many of these Bible workers put their life on the line every day

  1095. Joedy Melashenko: because

1096. Joedy Melashenko: in many of these communities

  1097. Joedy Melashenko: it is

  1098. Joedy Melashenko: illegal.

1099. Joedy Melashenko: To share the gospel.

1100. Joedy Melashenko: I could tell you about one of our Bible workers in one of these countries

1101. Joedy Melashenko: who was arrested.

1102. Joedy Melashenko: four times for sharing the gospel, was imprisoned

1103. Joedy Melashenko: and was sentenced to be executed, to be beheaded.

1104. Joedy Melashenko: The judge kept staying the execution.

1105. Joedy Melashenko: We had our prayer warriors around the world praying for the the girl

  1106. Joedy Melashenko: went by

1107. Joedy Melashenko: her nickname was Surrender.

1108. Joedy Melashenko: Praise the Lord.

1109. Joedy Melashenko: The judge finally released her and said, Don't be out

1110. Joedy Melashenko: there talking about Jesus anymore.

1111. Joedy Melashenko: You'll be back in here.

1112. Joedy Melashenko: And uh, but you're free to go.

  1113. Joedy Melashenko: Guess what

1114. Joedy Melashenko: she's doing that afternoon?

  1115. Joedy Melashenko: Here's

1116. Joedy Melashenko: something else that I just discovered.

1117. Joedy Melashenko: In some of the countries where we have some of our Bible workers that have been arrested, the prison guards are having dreams and visions.

1118. Joedy Melashenko: And the dreams and the visions you're having is

  1119. Joedy Melashenko: these

1120. Joedy Melashenko: people that are

1121. Joedy Melashenko: that you've locked up here, these people

1122. Joedy Melashenko: are true followers of Isa.

1123. Joedy Melashenko: And they have truth and light.

1124. Joedy Melashenko: And so here these prison guards now, they're going to these inmates and they're saying, at one

1125. Joedy Melashenko: o'clock this morning.

1126. Joedy Melashenko: The gates are going to be unlocked, the prison doors are going to be unopened, and you're free to go.

  1127. Joedy Melashenko: Praise

  1128. Joedy Melashenko: God.

  1129. Joedy Melashenko: So

1130. Joedy Melashenko: I want to just close with this statement

1131. Joedy Melashenko: from the book

1132. Joedy Melashenko: Acts of the Apostles, God's faithful people

1133. Joedy Melashenko: Have always been aggressive missionaries, consecrating their resources to the honor of his

  1134. Joedy Melashenko: name

1135. Joedy Melashenko: and wisely using their talents

  1136. Joedy Melashenko: in his

  1137. Joedy Melashenko: service.

1138. Joedy Melashenko: That's why the Seventh-day Avenue Church, as we sit here this morning, is the fastest growing denomination in the world.

1139. Joedy Melashenko: Because people have come to understand the truth of our message.

1140. Joedy Melashenko: I love the words of Paul.

1141. Joedy Melashenko: It's always been my ambition, and this is the

1142. Joedy Melashenko: motto we've adopted at Quiet Hour.

  1143. Joedy Melashenko: It has

1144. Joedy Melashenko: always been our ambition to preach the gospel where Christ is not known.

  1145. Joedy Melashenko: And that's

  1146. Joedy Melashenko: that's

  1147. Joedy Melashenko: the

  1148. Joedy Melashenko: the

1149. Joedy Melashenko: That's the message I want to leave with you.

1150. Joedy Melashenko: The harvest is plentiful, the labors are few.

1151. Joedy Melashenko: Pray the Lord of the harvest

1152. Joedy Melashenko: to send out labors

1153. Joedy Melashenko: into his harvest.

1154. Joedy Melashenko: And this morning, before we leave, you received

1155. Joedy Melashenko: As you came in, you received a little brochure like this.

1156. Joedy Melashenko: If you didn't get one, raise your hand.

1157. Joedy Melashenko: Maybe we can get some deacons or somebody to hand them out.

1158. Joedy Melashenko: Because inside of this

  1159. Joedy Melashenko: is

  1160. Joedy Melashenko: an envelope.

1161. Joedy Melashenko: Could we get a couple?

1162. Joedy Melashenko: Yeah, thank you.

1163. Joedy Melashenko: And this envelope gives you a place where you can

  1164. Joedy Melashenko: make

1165. Joedy Melashenko: an option as to what kind of a donation, what kind of support.

  1166. Joedy Melashenko: you'd

  1167. Joedy Melashenko: like to

1168. Joedy Melashenko: give for a Bible worker.

  1169. Joedy Melashenko: Please know

1170. Joedy Melashenko: Judy and I are volunteers.

1171. Joedy Melashenko: We don't get a cent

1172. Joedy Melashenko: for doing this.

1173. Joedy Melashenko: We do this because we love the work that they're doing.

  1174. Joedy Melashenko: There's even a

1175. Joedy Melashenko: QR code on this little

  1176. Joedy Melashenko: brochure here.

1177. Joedy Melashenko: If you want to click on that, it'll take you right to our website.

1178. Joedy Melashenko: You might want to donate online.

  1179. Joedy Melashenko: But

1180. Joedy Melashenko: this morning, as we leave, there's going to be a couple of deacons standing at the doors, and you can put your envelope in

  1181. Joedy Melashenko: the

1182. Joedy Melashenko: bag or the or the

1183. Joedy Melashenko: offering bucket, whatever they have.

  1184. Joedy Melashenko: But

  1185. Joedy Melashenko: please know

1186. Joedy Melashenko: your gifts are greatly appreciated by gospel outreach.

1187. Joedy Melashenko: And it's a ministry that I know God has anointed for these

  1188. Joedy Melashenko: last days.

  1189. Joedy Melashenko: So

  1190. Joedy Melashenko: with that.

1191. Joedy Melashenko: While you're filling out that envelope, there's a song that wanna f that we're gonna finish with.

  1192. Joedy Melashenko: One day

1193. Joedy Melashenko: a Roman soldier

1194. Joedy Melashenko: in a shameful

  1195. Joedy Melashenko: gambling game

  1196. Joedy Melashenko: One

1197. Joedy Melashenko: the bloodstained garment

  1198. Joedy Melashenko: that

  1199. Joedy Melashenko: once

  1200. Joedy Melashenko: had clothed

  1201. Joedy Melashenko: my king

1202. Joedy Melashenko: Just a cheap robe of linen

  1203. Joedy Melashenko: No

1204. Joedy Melashenko: great value did it hold, but when worn

  1205. Joedy Melashenko: by

1206. Joedy Melashenko: the master, it was worth more than gold.

1207. Joedy Melashenko: See, a few days

  1208. Joedy Melashenko: before

1209. Joedy Melashenko: this old garment

1210. Joedy Melashenko: had changed the life

  1211. Joedy Melashenko: of

  1212. Joedy Melashenko: a time

  1213. Joedy Melashenko: and helpless.

  1214. Joedy Melashenko: Woman

  1215. Joedy Melashenko: who

  1216. Joedy Melashenko: believed

1217. Joedy Melashenko: with all her might

  1218. Joedy Melashenko: she

  1219. Joedy Melashenko: reached down

1220. Joedy Melashenko: and touched it

1221. Joedy Melashenko: with the hope

  1222. Joedy Melashenko: to be

  1223. Joedy Melashenko: restored.

  1224. Joedy Melashenko: Oh

  1225. Joedy Melashenko: she

  1226. Joedy Melashenko: knew

1227. Joedy Melashenko: this plain old garment.

  1228. Joedy Melashenko: Was the

  1229. Joedy Melashenko: vesture of

  1230. Joedy Melashenko: the

  1231. Joedy Melashenko: Lord

  1232. Joedy Melashenko: God

  1233. Joedy Melashenko: uses

  1234. Joedy Melashenko: common

  1235. Joedy Melashenko: commands

  1236. Joedy Melashenko: to do?

  1237. Joedy Melashenko: Un

  1238. Joedy Melashenko: carbon

  1239. Joedy Melashenko: things

  1240. Joedy Melashenko: and

  1241. Joedy Melashenko: God

  1242. Joedy Melashenko: uses

  1243. Joedy Melashenko: cause

  1244. Joedy Melashenko: people.

  1245. Joedy Melashenko: To live

  1246. Joedy Melashenko: up

  1247. Joedy Melashenko: is

  1248. Joedy Melashenko: uncovering

  1249. Joedy Melashenko: great

  1250. Joedy Melashenko: it's not

  1251. Joedy Melashenko: what

  1252. Joedy Melashenko: you

  1253. Joedy Melashenko: You are

  1254. Joedy Melashenko: that

  1255. Joedy Melashenko: matters.

  1256. Joedy Melashenko: You see

1257. Joedy Melashenko: it's what he

  1258. Joedy Melashenko: can

  1259. Joedy Melashenko: make

  1260. Joedy Melashenko: you

  1261. Joedy Melashenko: to be.

  1262. Joedy Melashenko: Cause if

  1263. Joedy Melashenko: God

  1264. Joedy Melashenko: can

1265. Joedy Melashenko: take an old

  1266. Joedy Melashenko: club

  1267. Joedy Melashenko: and

  1268. Joedy Melashenko: garment

1269. Joedy Melashenko: and change a life, then

  1270. Joedy Melashenko: surely

  1271. Joedy Melashenko: he can

  1272. Joedy Melashenko: use you.

  1273. Joedy Melashenko: You

  1274. Joedy Melashenko: and

  1275. Joedy Melashenko: me

1276. Joedy Melashenko: and here it is.

  1277. Joedy Melashenko: We

  1278. Joedy Melashenko: are

  1279. Joedy Melashenko: the reason.

  1280. Joedy Melashenko: That

1281. Joedy Melashenko: Jesus came to

1282. Joedy Melashenko: die, and we

  1283. Joedy Melashenko: have

  1284. Joedy Melashenko: been chosen

  1285. Joedy Melashenko: to

  1286. Joedy Melashenko: send forth

  1287. Joedy Melashenko: his

  1288. Joedy Melashenko: light.

1289. Joedy Melashenko: Now it doesn't matter

  1290. Joedy Melashenko: if

  1291. Joedy Melashenko: your worth

1292. Joedy Melashenko: is great or small.

  1293. Joedy Melashenko: God

  1294. Joedy Melashenko: needs

  1295. Joedy Melashenko: some

  1296. Joedy Melashenko: willing vessel.

1297. Joedy Melashenko: Just common garments, that's all

  1298. Joedy Melashenko: God

  1299. Joedy Melashenko: uses

  1300. Joedy Melashenko: common

  1301. Joedy Melashenko: garments.

  1302. Joedy Melashenko: To

  1303. Joedy Melashenko: do

  1304. Joedy Melashenko: uncommon

  1305. Joedy Melashenko: things

  1306. Joedy Melashenko: and

  1307. Joedy Melashenko: continues

  1308. Joedy Melashenko: calling.

  1309. Joedy Melashenko: People

1310. Joedy Melashenko: to live up

  1311. Joedy Melashenko: is

  1312. Joedy Melashenko: hard

  1313. Joedy Melashenko: for

  1314. Joedy Melashenko: But

  1315. Joedy Melashenko: you are

  1316. Joedy Melashenko: all

  1317. Joedy Melashenko: that

  1318. Joedy Melashenko: matters.

  1319. Joedy Melashenko: You see

  1320. Joedy Melashenko: it's what

  1321. Joedy Melashenko: he

  1322. Joedy Melashenko: can make

  1323. Joedy Melashenko: you

  1324. Joedy Melashenko: to be.

1325. Joedy Melashenko: Cause if God

  1326. Joedy Melashenko: can

1327. Joedy Melashenko: take an old

  1328. Joedy Melashenko: common

  1329. Joedy Melashenko: garment

1330. Joedy Melashenko: and change a lot, then

  1331. Joedy Melashenko: surely

  1332. Joedy Melashenko: he can

1333. Joedy Melashenko: 't be able to do it.

  1334. Joedy Melashenko: Can

  1335. Joedy Melashenko: use

  1336. Joedy Melashenko: you

  1337. Joedy Melashenko: and me

  1338. Joedy Melashenko: Cause if

  1339. Joedy Melashenko: God

  1340. Joedy Melashenko: can

  1341. Joedy Melashenko: take it

  1342. Joedy Melashenko: off

  1343. Joedy Melashenko: and garment

1344. Joedy Melashenko: and change a lot.

  1345. Joedy Melashenko: Then

  1346. Joedy Melashenko: surely

1347. Joedy Melashenko: he can use

  1348. Joedy Melashenko: you

  1349. Joedy Melashenko: and me.

  1350. Joedy Melashenko: Use you

  1351. Joedy Melashenko: and

  1352. Joedy Melashenko: me.

1353. Joedy Melashenko: If God can take

1354. Joedy Melashenko: an old common garment

1355. Joedy Melashenko: and change a life, then what's your excuse?

  1356. Joedy Melashenko: God

  1357. Joedy Melashenko: is looking

1358. Joedy Melashenko: for common people to do something uncommon for his

  1359. Joedy Melashenko: kingdom.

1360. Joedy Melashenko: And as we mentioned this morning, hey

1361. Joedy Melashenko: All of us here, we can't go to Africa.

1362. Joedy Melashenko: We can't go to the 1040 window.

1363. Joedy Melashenko: But you can be a sender.

1364. Joedy Melashenko: You can be someone who can help sponsor one of those Bible workers.

1365. Joedy Melashenko: One of the things I just want to share with you

1366. Joedy Melashenko: at the table in the back where Judy will be and I'll be at the door,

1367. Joedy Melashenko: there's magazines and some other gospel

  1368. Joedy Melashenko: Reach items.

  1369. Joedy Melashenko: But

  1370. Joedy Melashenko: just

1371. Joedy Melashenko: for you to think about something here, and I should have mentioned this earlier.

1372. Joedy Melashenko: The Meloshenko family

1373. Joedy Melashenko: singers, over the years, we've produced numerous CDs and DVDs.

  1374. Joedy Melashenko: Uh

  1375. Joedy Melashenko: people

1376. Joedy Melashenko: don't buy CDs and DVDs anymore.

1377. Joedy Melashenko: My daughter, dad, you still have a CD player?

  1378. Joedy Melashenko: Yep.

1379. Joedy Melashenko: I just got rid of my A

  1380. Joedy Melashenko: -track

  1381. Joedy Melashenko: last week.

1382. Joedy Melashenko: So we have taken

1383. Joedy Melashenko: we've taken all of our music and we've put them onto a thumb drive that looks like this.

1384. Joedy Melashenko: It just pops out.

1385. Joedy Melashenko: There's about six hours of music on there.

1386. Joedy Melashenko: And we give those to the

1387. Joedy Melashenko: for those of you who can make a pledge to help sponsor a Bible work.

1388. Joedy Melashenko: And come up to Judy at the table back there.

1389. Joedy Melashenko: She'll hand one to you and show you how to how it works.

1390. Joedy Melashenko: Some of you might want to

1391. Joedy Melashenko: Check out our websites

  1392. Joedy Melashenko: called Go

1393. Joedy Melashenko: Aim, which is

  1394. Joedy Melashenko: gospel

1395. Joedy Melashenko: outreach adventures in missions.

1396. Joedy Melashenko: And there we have

1397. Joedy Melashenko: fresh stories every every week about the incredible things God is doing.

  1398. Joedy Melashenko: Well

1399. Joedy Melashenko: You have been incredibly gracious with your time this morning.

1400. Joedy Melashenko: I just praise God my voice is held up, at least part way.

1401. Joedy Melashenko: I wasn't sure if I could preach or sing, but it's all in God's hands.

1402. Joedy Melashenko: Would you please bow your heads with me as we close our service today?

1403. Joedy Melashenko: Lord, when we think about

1404. Joedy Melashenko: The promise of your soon coming that this gospel, the

  1405. Joedy Melashenko: kingdom, not

1406. Joedy Melashenko: might, but it will go to the whole world.

1407. Joedy Melashenko: We see that happening before our very eyes.

1408. Joedy Melashenko: And Lord, we know that

  1409. Joedy Melashenko: you have

  1410. Joedy Melashenko: precious children

1411. Joedy Melashenko: that have not heard the name of Jesus, but they are your children.

1412. Joedy Melashenko: And you've come to offer salvation

1413. Joedy Melashenko: to all those who

1414. Joedy Melashenko: call upon the Lord as their Savior.

1415. Joedy Melashenko: Lord, we just are so grateful for the dedication of these Bible workers.

1416. Joedy Melashenko: We're grateful for the dedication of our

  1417. Joedy Melashenko: conference and

  1418. Joedy Melashenko: union

1419. Joedy Melashenko: and division leaders.

1420. Joedy Melashenko: And we just pray, Lord, that you would continue to help us keep the main thing, the main thing in our focus.

1421. Joedy Melashenko: And that is to share the good news of salvation.

1422. Joedy Melashenko: To our neighbors, our friends, those we work with, the guys we play golf with, whatever it might be, Lord, we want Jesus to be seen in us.

1423. Joedy Melashenko: Thank you for this church family.

1424. Joedy Melashenko: I lift up everyone, all the kids.

1425. Joedy Melashenko: The generations that are here, Lord, they're your children as well.

1426. Joedy Melashenko: We claim the promise

  1427. Joedy Melashenko: In Philippians

1428. Joedy Melashenko: said, He who began a good work in you

1429. Joedy Melashenko: will be faithful to complete it.

1430. Joedy Melashenko: We give you permission to complete that work in us today.

1431. Joedy Melashenko: We love you, Lord.

1432. Joedy Melashenko: Please come soon, we pray.

1433. Joedy Melashenko: And everybody said together.

  1434. Joedy Melashenko: Amen.

1435. Joedy Melashenko: God bless all of you
