  1. The holy Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, according to Mark.

  2. But overhearing what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the

  3. synagogue, do not fear, only believe.

  4. And he allowed no one to follow him, except Peter and James and

  5. John the brother of James. They came to the House of the

  6. ruler of the synagogue, and Jesus saw a commotion, people

  7. weeping and waiting loudly. And when he had entered, he say

  8. to them, Why are you making a commotion and weeping?

  9. The child is not dead, but sleeping.

  10. And they laughed at him. But he put them all outside, and

  11. took the child's father and mother and those who were with

  12. him, and went in where the child was, taking her by the hand.

  13. He say to her Tarifa Comb, which means little girl.

  14. I said to you arise. And immediately the girl got up

  15. and began walking, for she was 12 years of.

  16. Age and they. Were immediately overcame with

  17. amazement. And he strictly charged.

  18. Them that no one should know this and told them to give her

  19. something to eat the gospel. Of the Lord, let's pray

  20. together. Heavenly Father, we bow before

  21. you with grateful hearts. You have given us your precious

  22. word in our own language. We can read it, we can listen to

  23. it, and through it we gain knowledge and just see Your

  24. guidance. We thank You that Your Word

  25. strengthens our faith. Father, Your sons and daughters

  26. are ready to receive Your Word in their lives.

  27. Open their hearts to listen. Bless them with divine wisdom

  28. and also bless me with your Holy Spirit to preach according to

  29. your will. We offer this prayer in Jesus

  30. name, Amen. I want to begin this sermon by

  31. sharing a story from my own life.

  32. I have been suffering from an ear disease for the last 16

  33. years. So both of my ear drums were

  34. ruptured and the infection spread to the inner part of my

  35. ear which is very sensitive and connected to the brain.

  36. I have undergone 3 major surgeries.

  37. My first surgery was on my right ear on April 8th 2021 and during

  38. the procedure my facial nerve was accidentally damaged which

  39. caused facial paralysis. One side of my face dropped and

  40. I could not eat or drink properly.

  41. Before the surgery the doctor had me sign a concert form and

  42. explaining that if this happened the chances of the recovery

  43. would be very small. If I could show you my photos or

  44. pictures of that time so you could see clearly.

  45. My face is D shaped but I thank God for his miracle.

  46. He was healed from facial paralysis.

  47. So my second surgery was on my left ear on September 9th, 2021,

  48. the same year. At that time COVID-19.

  49. Was it on his peak before the surgery?

  50. I tested positive and I had to isolate for 14 days.

  51. So my family and myself, we prayed and by God's grace I

  52. recovered. Then Dr. proceed with the

  53. surgery but it was not successful.

  54. They recommended another surgery for the following year and my

  55. third surgery took place on September 3rd, 2022, again on my

  56. left ear. I have two surgery of my left

  57. ear. At this time.

  58. I was left to one of the largest hospital in Pakistan.

  59. So that hospital is in Karachi. It took about 18 hours by train

  60. to reach there. And during that time, Pakistan

  61. was facing severe flooding. Unfortunately, I had no relative

  62. in Karachi to go and to stay with them.

  63. So one of my congregation member, he arranged for me to

  64. stay with their brother in Karachi.

  65. A few days after, when I arrived there, train services were

  66. suspended because part of the railway track was washed away by

  67. the flood water. After completing all my tasks,

  68. the doctor scheduled my surgery and then my wife and my elder

  69. brother. They managed to travel by bus to

  70. be with me. It's my personal testimonies.

  71. You have to listen carefully. The surgery lasted 4 hours.

  72. The doctor removed the damaged inner ear bones.

  73. If you have some knowledge about the human body, so there are

  74. three smallest bones in our human body.

  75. It is in our ear so that small ear bones were damaged by the

  76. infection and the doctor removed that small bones from my ear and

  77. they placed a new eardrum. So this procedure is called

  78. tympanomestoid Dr. Mini. If someone is here who is a

  79. doctor or later to a field of medicals.

  80. So you could note tympanomestoid Dr. me.

  81. Three days later after the surgery, I was discharged and I

  82. booked a bus ticket because train services was suspended.

  83. I booked a bus ticket to return home the next day.

  84. However, in the evening I developed a high fever of 1/03.

  85. I immediately contact my Doctor Who advised me to take blood

  86. test for typhoid, malaria and dengue.

  87. When the results came, I tested positive for a dengue fever.

  88. I don't know how many of you have ever experienced dengue but

  89. I pray that no one has to go through it.

  90. I have experienced COVID and facial paralysis but dengue was

  91. worse than both of it. You know in dengue fever you

  92. have a severe headaches, pain behind the eyes, intense body

  93. and joints pain and you have nausea, vomiting and drop

  94. platelets. For almost 20 days, I could

  95. barely I had severe pain through my body and I could not sleep

  96. day or night and I vomit all the day.

  97. My platelets are going to decrease day by day.

  98. My condition created deep uncertainty for my family.

  99. I could not return my home because the train services were

  100. suspended and I could not travel by air because my recent

  101. surgery. My mother wept when she talked

  102. to me. My wife, my brother and the

  103. family I was staying with feared for my life.

  104. But in that situation I hold home the one verse.

  105. Again and again I read book of Jonah chapter 2 verse 4.

    Jonah 2:4

  106. When Jonah was in the belly of fish, he asked the Lord, I will

  107. look again forward, your holy temple in that situation, when I

  108. am hopeless and I asked my wife take me back to home.

  109. I want to spend remaining days with my parents, with my father,

  110. with my mother. Again and again I read that

  111. words and I pray a Lord. I have faith.

  112. I will see your temple again. I pray a Lord, I believe I will

  113. again preach in your church. I believe you will give me new

  114. life. And I'm thank to Lord.

  115. He is very faithful with me. He give me healing, He give me

  116. power. And I serve in Pakistan and

  117. today I am serving here in the United States.

  118. I just believe. In the same way.

  119. When Jairus saw that there were no hope and all circumstances

  120. were against him, he ran to Jesus and begged for his

  121. daughter's life. And Jesus said to him to not be

  122. afraid, only believe. When we read book of Mark

    Mark 5:21–24

  123. chapter 5, verse 21 to 24, the passage began with the name a

  124. man named Jairus. It is written that when he saw

  125. Jesus, he fell at his feet and pleaded earnestly for the life

  126. of his little daughter because she was about to die.

  127. But before moving forward, we must know who Jairus is.

  128. The Gospel tells us that he was a synagogue leader, a man of

  129. honor. He has authority, he has respect

  130. in Jewish community, He is the ruler, he is the leader, He is a

  131. wealthy person and he has accepts all the resources of

  132. that time. He has access to the best

  133. position of his time, but nothing could save his daughter.

  134. His wealth, his power, his authority, his status.

  135. Nothing could save his daughter. His only hope was Jesus.

  136. Think about why would a synagogue leader come to Jesus

  137. when we read a gospel of Mark chapter 3.

    Mark 3 chapter mention

  138. There is a miracle in Mark chapter 3.

    Mark 3 chapter mention

  139. On the day of Saba, Jesus was in the synagogue and Jesus healed a

  140. man who has trebled hand. When Jesus healed that man, it

  141. was written in the book of Mark, chapter 3, all the Pharisees,

    Mark 3 chapter mention

  142. they were against the Lord and plotted a plan to kill him.

  143. In chapter 3, Pharisees, the synagogue leaders, they were

  144. against the Lord, they were against the Jesus.

  145. They want to kill him. But when we read chapter 5, the

  146. synagogue leader Gyrus, who is the leader of the synagogue, who

  147. is the representative of that community, he came and kneeled

  148. on, He fouled on and asked that Jesus come with me.

  149. When there was no hope, Charis found hope in Christ.

  150. On the way to Jairus house, Jesus was surrounded by a large

  151. crowd. A woman who had suffered from

  152. bleeding for 12 years touched his garment and was healed.

  153. Jesus stopped and took time for her.

  154. Could you imagine if myself I was in Jairus place or my only

  155. daughter was about to die and Jesus took time?

  156. So what was my condition? I have different thoughts in my

  157. mind. Why Jesus you are doing?

  158. Why Jesus, you took a time. My daughter is about to die.

  159. Maybe Jairus has a different thoughts in his mind.

  160. The delay must have been difficult for Jairus.

  161. Imagine watching time pass while your child is dying.

  162. Then you have only hope of Jesus.

  163. And Jesus took time. I won't go into detail about

  164. this woman because last Sunday Christina briefed it

  165. beautifully. But remember the both story have

  166. a connection, they are interlinked.

  167. So later I will tell you what connection is between both

  168. stories. And when we read Gospel of Mark

    Mark 5:35–36

  169. chapter 5 verse 35 to 36, while Jesus was still speaking,

  170. someone came from Jairus house and said your daughter is dead,

  171. don't bother the teacher anymore.

  172. What does that mean in human terms?

  173. They are saying it is over. They are saying why are you

  174. bother teacher anymore, your daughter is dead, Jesus can't do

  175. anything. But it is written that Jesus as

  176. Childress. Don't be afraid only believe we

  177. similar we see similar moment in the scripture when we read our

  178. Gospel of John Chapter 11 Mendel Lazarus was died and when Jesus

    John 11 chapter mention

  179. went there Mary and Martha, they ask Jesus master, if you had

  180. been here, our brother would not die.

  181. It means that the both sister they asked to Jesus.

  182. Now it's over. If you had been here, our

  183. brother would not be die. Sometime people around us speak

  184. words that weakens our faith. You know, we have some kind of

  185. friends and relatives. They weakens our faith.

  186. They do not always intend harm, but they speak from fear, not

  187. faith. But Jesus ignored the report and

  188. said to Jairus, Don't be afraid, only believe.

  189. When Jesus arrived at the house from chapter 5, verse 38 to 43,

  190. there were mourners crying and playing instruments.

  191. These were the professional mourners so commonly hired in

  192. that culture. They hired at least three

  193. people, two people who play flute and the one woman.

  194. Well, every person they hired at least three people.

  195. So Jairus is a wealthy person, Chairus has a status, Chairus

  196. has only daughter or definitely is The family hired.

  197. Many people in my culture where I grew up, we are not hired a

  198. professional mourners, but our women they are willing like a

  199. professional mourners. Their mourning is like in a

  200. musical beats, like in a rhythm, and they use a very a word that

  201. can't touch your heart. And the people who listen their

  202. moaning, they feel that there's someone loved one is dying.

  203. So in my culture, the woman, when they moan, they beat

  204. themselves. Similarly, in China's house,

  205. there are mourners. But when Jesus came and Jesus

  206. said that the girl is not dying, she's just sleeping, they mock

  207. Jesus. Why?

  208. Because they are the professionals.

  209. They know that the girl has died, but Jesus allowed only

  210. parents and a few disciples into the room.

  211. Then he took the girl by hand and said, Talita Akum, which

  212. means little girl. I say to you, Catter, in one

  213. translation it is written, Little girl, I say to you, our

  214. eyes. When she heard the voice of

  215. Jesus, immediately she stood up and began to walk.

  216. Similarly, Jesus spoke to Lazarus.

  217. Lazarus come out, and when Lazarus listen the voice of

  218. Jesus, he come out. There is power in the voice of

  219. Jesus because Jesus is the eternal word of God.

  220. When Jesus speak, creation responds, When Jesus speaks

  221. strong stop, when Jesus speaks universe create, When Jesus

  222. speak demons have gone, or when Jesus speaks diseases and

  223. sickness has gone. And when Jesus speaks the lions

  224. start to see. And when Jesus speaks the diet

  225. arise, or when we read a book of First Thessalonians, it is

  226. written that on the day of the judgment, when Jesus come again,

  227. he will speak, and all the dead they are listen and their eyes.

  228. Similarly, Jesus speak to the girl spoke to the girl Talitha

  229. Kumi a little girl arise and she arise and walking.

  230. I told you earlier there is one similarity between woman who has

  231. an issue of blood and the daughter of Charis.

  232. Both the woman and the little girl are connected by 1 and

  233. other. The similarities are #12 the

  234. woman had been suffering for 12 years and the girl was 12 years

  235. old. One represents long term

  236. suffering, the woman who has an issue of blood, he represents a

  237. long term suffering. And the little little daughter

  238. who was 12 years old, she represents our lives suddenly

  239. cut short. Scholars said that when Jairus

  240. daughter was born on the same year, the woman started facing

  241. her suffering after the 12 year. When the child's daughter was

  242. born at the same year, the woman started to facing her suffering.

  243. On the same year she was born, she was starting suffering.

  244. Yet on the same day, both receive healing and new life.

  245. This shows us that Jesus has the power over both.

  246. Groaning, suffering over sudden crises, Chiris invited Jesus

  247. into his pain, and Jesus walked with him every step of the way.

  248. But during the journey, the worst news came.

  249. Your daughter is Dad. Why trouble the teacher anymore?

  250. In the other words, they told him to stop hoping they believed

  251. it was too late. But Jesus said those were turned

  252. to gyrus and sad. Don't be afraid.

  253. Only believe one thing you remember in your life.

  254. A personal invitation must be followed by a personal faith.

  255. It is not enough to invite Jesus, we must also trust him.

  256. Jairus kept working with Jesus step all the way to the house

  257. where death has created. Jesus took Jairus, his wife, and

  258. his few disciples. Then he spoke to the little

  259. girl. Little girl, I said to your

  260. eyes. And she did.

  261. This is the power of personal invitation and trust.

  262. Chiras welcomed Jesus into his personal situation and trusted

  263. him even when the outcome seemed impossible.

  264. And Jesus did what no one can else do.

  265. So my brothers and sisters, Jesus is still waiting your

  266. invitation. He is not looking for perfect

  267. people, but for open hearts. He is not looking for impressive

  268. words, but for humble faith. Today is the day of decision.

  269. Will you invite Him in your family?

  270. Will you invite Him into your heart?

  271. Will you trust Him? Even a life is hard because when

  272. you invite Jesus, He comes, or when you trust Him, He moves, or

  273. when He moves in, life begins again.

  274. Today I don't know what situation you are facing.

  275. Maybe you are dealing with sickness, family struggle,

  276. financial hardships, or spiritual dryness.

  277. Maybe like Jairus, you feel hopeless.

  278. But Jesus said to you, don't be afraid, only believe.

  279. Trust in even when you cannot see the way.

  280. I personally believe the same God who healed me and the same

  281. God who raised children's daughter is still alive and

  282. working today. What to do?

  283. You just invite him. When we read Constable of Mark

    Mark 5 chapter mention

  284. chapter 5 in chapter 5, there are three miracles.

  285. First miracle was a man who had legions for the Samuel preached

  286. on it. When Jesus healed that person

  287. who had a legion, and you know that when the people came from

  288. the village, they pleaded Jesus please leave our region.

  289. And then Jesus went to this place and these two miracles

  290. happen here. It is written in the chapter 5

  291. verse 20. When Jesus came back from the

  292. Gresenia, the people are already standing and welcome Jesus.

  293. When we welcome Jesus, then the miracles happen.

  294. When we invite Jesus, he do his things.

  295. And when Jairus invited Jesus, when Jairus welcomed him, Jesus

  296. did miracle in his family. Today I want to encourage you,

  297. if you are facing some kind of suffering, if you are facing

  298. health issues, financial issues, any kind of hardship,

  299. brokenness, only believe Jesus said, don't be afraid.

  300. And the last thing is that when we read only Bible, it is

  301. written Don't be afraid 365 times, don't be afraid, don't be

  302. afraid. How many days in a year?

  303. 365 every day. Jesus, God has a promise.

  304. Don't be afraid, only believe. His name is Emmanuel.

  305. He is with us. Let's spit.

  306. Heavenly Father, thank you for your word.

  307. Strengthen our faith in times of difficulty.

  308. Help us to trust You when circumstances are against us.

  309. Teach us to believe and not be afraid.

  310. Bless your people and fill them with hope and faith.

  311. We ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
