St. Philip Catholic Church: Today in the scriptures we heard that God doesn't want us to live a life of fearful and not to be afraid. Whatever the reason may be, the Lord doesn't want us to live the life of fearful. But if you look at in the life of Jeremiah in our first reading. Because of what he preached, what the Lord wanted him to tell, he was rejected, put into prison, his life was in danger. How do we make sense then? Because we are in a moment of like World Cup Soccer, like actually right, we can say football here, I guess, right? Something that I really actually like is when the smaller country or the smaller teams play without being afraid. Yeah. So imagine of Jeremiah as a soccer player. Well, he's like a player who is booing, like some people, a player being booed by the the crowd. Criticized by media. Targeted by opponents. But Jeremiah, remember and pray that the Lord. is with me. So when we are afraid, fear shrink us. But faith enlarges us. So if Jeremiah is like a player being bull by the crowd and then he remembered the Lord, then what is that the Lord is representing then? The Lord could resemble as our coach. You know, like the player is now trusting on the coach under the formation, the system. Because he has the game plan, a system, and a formation that they can win. That coach is actually Jesus. Jesus see eternity. Jesus see everything that we what we cannot see in our life. He has a plan for you. He has a formation for you. He has a system that how you can work. Therefore, we much we must trust in Jesus. How about in the team there is a captain? The captain resemble fathers in the family. I would like to greet and wish you happy Father's Day. But that Father, Fatherhood, and being a captain comes with a responsibility. How can that team win when they don't respect, listen, and obey to their captain? Therefore in our family we must allow our fathers to lead the family. The Lord chose them to be leaders. Allow them to lead your family. The Lord wants you to respect them. Not because of who they are and how good they are, not solo for quick, but because of the role that God has given them. Our value is not dependent upon individual performance. Many times players focus on individual performance. They think that I'm valuable if I'm successful. I am valuable if people approve of me and praise me. Your value is that that you are being known by the Father, that you are being loved by God, that you are being chosen by God. That is your value. How about the victory that every team's play to win? Every team play to win, so what is our victory then? Actually our victory is that we are already a winners. As long as we play in the team of Jesus Christ. Jesus already won, dead, he resurrected, he ascended into heaven. So as long as we are with him, as long as we play in his team, the fact that we have the courage to play for him, we are already winners. So when you go out of here after Mass.
