  6. message from God's word will be a blessing to you.

  7. John Chapter 13 this morning. If you would please John Chapter

John 13 chapter mention John 13 chapter mention

  8. 13 is where we're going to be at.

  9. Of course we are moving forward in our series forward this year

  10. and April is the month of moving forward in love.

  11. And certainly, that's not a mistake as we consider the love

  12. that Jesus shed abroad. On the cross, there is precious

  13. blood in the fact that even here today, as we consider the day

  14. where we commemorate his triumphal entry into Jerusalem.

  15. Jerusalem and all that followed after that as he approached the

  16. cross. And I think today we can move

  17. forward in Love by looking at Christ's sacrifice and his

  18. never-ending love, and fact that's the title of my message.

  19. This morning, a never-ending love all through April.

  20. We're going to be looking at this concept of what the Bible

  21. means, when it talks about love and love is one of those funny

  22. words, isn't it? Because it's a word that people

  23. use all the time? But yet, it means different

  24. things to different people. And it's one that the

  25. definition, although I don't believe it's confusing to.

  26. God is one that's confusing to man.

  27. For instance, loves comes with different uses.

  28. It's a noun, it's a verb, it can be used in different ways.

  29. Love comes with different intensities, I love my wife and

  30. I love pizza. And we pray that the intensity

  31. of those are different, right? Because I really love people but

  32. anyway, I really know I that my love for pizza.

  33. Cannot parallel. The love that my for my wife.

  34. But yet we use the same word to describe both.

  35. I mean, that's kind of a strange thing when you think about it,

  36. isn't it? Love has different.

  37. Definitions, believe it. Or not, if you were to look in

  38. the Webster's 1828 dictionary and add, all the definitions

  39. together, there are no less than 11 different definitions for the

  40. word, love that we use. Today.

  41. And then you add to all that confusion, you have this modern

  42. and sinful society that we live in.

  43. That keeps telling us a phrase. Like this love is Love.

  44. Love Is Love which by defining the word by the word itself

  45. means that the word has no meaning or value, and hence can

  46. be defined by anyone in any way at any time, no matter what that

  47. phrase. And we have to see that there.

  48. To be a meaning to love. There has to be a definition of

  49. Love. There has to be an example of

  50. love that has to be held up for us by none other than Jesus

  51. Christ. And so, here are Texas morning.

  52. I want to take some time to meditate on the death and

  53. burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

  54. But particularly I want us to focus in on True, Love In

  55. Action. As Jesus is approaching the last

  56. hours before he goes to the cross.

  57. Why would you stand please for the reading?

  58. God's word, God's word. This morning, John 13.

  59. Verse number one and we're literally going to read one

  60. verse this morning. So you're not going to stand for

  61. Long John Chapter 13, beginning of verse number one.

    John 13 chapter mention

  62. And it says this now before the Feast of the Passover, when

  63. Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out

  64. of the world unto the father, having loved his own, which were

  65. in the world. He loved them until the end.

  66. That's a short verse but there's a lot in that verse and I really

  67. want us to focus in this short period of time that we have on

  68. that second half of the verse having loved his own which were

  69. in the world. He loved them unto the end if

  70. we're to move forward in love in this month of April and really

  71. if we move forward in love, as God has called us to get our

  72. Christian Life. Far beyond just one month out of

  73. the year. Would it behoove us to look at

  74. the love of Jesus Christ? Not just this morning, but on

  75. Tuesday and on Friday and on Sunday and far beyond as we

  76. consider that there is no greater model of love that has

  77. ever walked the face of the Earth then none other than Jesus

  78. Christ. Heavenly Father.

  79. Be with us this morning as we get into your word, help us to

  80. understand just a glimpse of this never-ending love.

  81. And we ask it in Jesus name. Amen.

  82. Thank you. May be seated.

  83. It in such a short verse. So much is being said as John

    John 13 chapter mention

  84. Chapter 13 unfolds or rather John, chapter 12 unfolds Palm

    John 12 chapter mention

  85. Sunday has passed. Jesus is now sharing the last

  86. supper with his disciples in the hours, as he goes to the cross.

  87. In the beginning of that verse, the first half of verse number,

  88. one of John Chapter 13 sets the scene for us of exactly what's

    John 13 chapter mention

  89. going on. It gives us the time frame of

  90. when this verse takes place. Before the Feast of the

  91. Passover, understanding that he's about to share of what we

  92. would call the last supper with his disciples including who

  93. would see if we continue to read with none other than Judas

  94. himself who's at the table before the supper, the Last

  95. Supper takes place and we see this timeframe that is here, it

  96. also gives us Jesus mindset. When it says Jesus knew that he

  97. knew that this hour was come. Now we And that Jesus knew all

  98. things before the foundation of the world ever took place.

  99. But yet at the same time, could we put it this way?

  100. It's at the front of Jesus mind right now.

  101. I don't Proclaim to understand all of how that works.

  102. But yet here on Jesus mind and heart is the fact that he knows

  103. within hours, he's going to go to the garden and he's going to

  104. pray and great. Drops of blood will fall down

  105. from him as sweat from his brow and he's going to be taken.

  106. And he is going to be beaten and mocked and placed on a cross.

  107. And he knows these things are about to happen.

  108. It says that he knew that his hour was come that the hour for

  109. which he came to this earth, 33 years.

  110. Previous to that point had now come and it also gives us this

  111. first half of the verse Jesus future that it wasn't just that

  112. he was in, go to the Cross but that he should depart out of

  113. this world unto the father telling us that he knew while he

  114. was Going to go to the cross that he would resurrect three

  115. days later and that he would sit at the right hand of God the

  116. Father which is by the way, where he's seated today, waiting

  117. for the moment. When the father tells him go and

  118. get my children and bring them hither back to me and that day

  119. is coming, but Jesus knew exactly where he's going on

  120. again. He was not conned into the

  121. cross. He was not cornered into the

  122. cross. Jesus came into the situation

  123. fully aware knowing what was about to happen.

  124. And I think it's important for us to take a moment to dwell on

  125. that because it makes the second half much more powerful knowing

  126. that Jesus would have had all of this on his mind but yet still

  127. had this great love in his heart.

  128. Listen. If you're a man especially we

  129. can only concentrate on one thing at a time.

  130. No, listen to my wife wants to talk to me.

  131. It has to be after the half ending of the Red Sox game

  132. because during something important might happen, all

  133. right? I don't know, and I'm saying

  134. this in front of you because I'm much braver in front of you,

  135. with all of you around me than I am.

  136. If it's just us alone. No, I know.

  137. Seriously though, even just this morning and, you know, our

  138. daughters, hear Bethenny's here and I'm thinking about the

  139. sermon, but my thoughts are going all over the place just

  140. because Typically many of us not just men women, we like to focus

  141. on one thing at a time. We can't just happens that women

  142. do it. Better focusing on multiple

  143. things at a time. But Jesus here is in a situation

  144. where he knows he's about to go to the Cross.

  145. He's about to go through something that no one has ever

  146. gone through that. No one will ever go through and

  147. that we can't even comprehend even though we have the volume

  148. of 66 books. In front of us, we can't

  149. comprehend all that he went through during those at even

  150. just the hours that he was there.

  151. Praying in the garden. We can't understand.

  152. Great anguish that he was going through when he said, let this

  153. cup pass from me, but not my will, but thy will be done.

  154. I can't even imagine that, but against this backdrop was so

  155. much pain and Agony ahead. We're given the small piece of

  156. information in the second half of John 13, and it's small and

  157. Powerful, like dynamite having loved each of his own, which

  158. were in the world. He loved them unto the end.

  159. Having loved his own which were in the world.

  160. He loved them unto the end. Jesus loved was evident all

  161. throughout his ministry but maybe never more than in his

  162. final days. Think of all those who he

  163. lavished his love upon in those final days before he went to the

  164. Cross. He loved the crowds on Palm

  165. Sunday, despite the fact that many of them would have shouted

  166. Hosanna, which literally means save us now, one day, but some

  167. of the same ones would have been crying out, crucify him just a

  168. few days later. No, Jesus, still love them.

  169. Knowing when he wrote In, as we just heard brother, Vince read

  170. this morning that as he wrote in and they were extolling his

  171. virtues. He knew that many of them would

  172. turn their backs on him and he loved them.

  173. Anyway, unto the end, he loved the Pharisees that he would

  174. verbally spar with on those days following there, in the temple

  175. who publicly would denounce him and privately plotted against

  176. him. He loved them to the end, he

  177. loved the money changers. You remember that he cleansed

  178. the temple one final time before he went to the cross and he Love

  179. those money changers, even though they had made his

  180. father's house, a house of merchandise and even though he

  181. had took that cord and even though he ushered them out of

  182. the temple, he still had great love for those moneychangers.

  183. Even though they were doing him wrong, he loved the members of

  184. the Sanhedrin, even though they plan to entrap him into a

  185. kangaroo court and accused him with false Witnesses, each of

  186. those, he loved unto the end, But it wasn't just those things

  187. that had been passed and prior to John 13:1, I would submit to

    John 13:1

  188. you. That what is said, in John 13:1

    John 13:1

  189. is also ringing true to everything that happened after

  190. that moment as well. He loved the soldiers who had

  191. mercilessly beat him. Mock him and curse him. he loves

  192. pilot despite the fact that he condemned an innocent man that

  193. he looked at him and he said, what is truth when he was

  194. looking at true When he said, I wash my hands of this man's

  195. blood. When there's not enough

  196. antibiotic antiseptic water in this world that could wash his

  197. hands from the blood of Christ. But he loved them to the end.

  198. He loved Herod Antipas, remember that he got sent to Herod in the

  199. middle of examination of pilot. And sometimes I think we forget

  200. that it's that same Herod. Remember, there were many

  201. different herod's herod's was a name of a ruler that would have

  202. been Regional at that time there in Israel but it was that same

  203. Herod who I believe, beheaded his cousin, John the Baptist and

  204. he would have stood before that same Herod who is making mockery

  205. of him and that day was true. The Bible says that the enemy of

  206. my enemy was My friend that Herod and pilate didn't really

  207. get along, but they had a common enemy who ended up being Jesus.

  208. And so they became friends during all that.

  209. And despite all that Jesus loved Herod unto the end, He loved the

  210. crowds though. They be rated him and blasphemed

  211. him and challenged him and said, if you be who you say you are

  212. get yourself off of this cross. And we know not only could he

  213. have done so but he could have wiped the map with the whole lot

  214. of them. But yet he didn't as the old

  215. song, says, he died alone for you and me.

  216. He loved the crowds to the end. Can I remind you that he looked

  217. at Judas a few hours from now and in Matthew 26:52 called him

    Matthew 26:52

  218. friend. I've read some commentaries that

  219. say that heme said that out of sarcasm or he said that in some

  220. other fashion, but no, Jesus would have said that in sorrow,

  221. but in truth, Knowing that he had invested in Judas for three

  222. years knowing still what he was going to do.

  223. No no he knew what Judas was going to do.

  224. The Son of Perdition yet he loved him until the end.

  225. I mean, this is astounding. What a model for us to have in.

  226. Love the bottle of Jesus Christ, we think we've been hurt.

  227. Compared to Jesus, we think we've gone through difficulties.

  228. Compared to Jesus. We think people have done us

  229. wrong. Compared to Christ and I'm not

  230. minimizing those things that have happened to you in your

  231. life. I'm not saying that they aren't

  232. real because Jesus had more happened to him.

  233. That's not what I'm saying this morning.

  234. What I'm saying is, if Jesus could love those to the end,

  235. even those who had done him so wrong, when he had never done

  236. anything wrong in his life, in his 33 years and and has never

  237. done anything wrong in his existence which was before time

  238. and in time and will be after time.

  239. Eternal nature of God has never done wrong if he can love to the

  240. end, who are we We so there's two things I want to point out

  241. to you very briefly here this morning.

  242. And the first is this, we must remember the Christ loves unto.

  243. The end Christ loves unto the end and I don't know about you,

  244. but if this was me And I was going through those things that

  245. Jesus was going through. And I had any one of these

  246. events or occurrences that I just read to you happened to me.

  247. At some point, I would have looked at Jesus and I would have

  248. said something like this or I would have looked at those

  249. people and responded differently than Jesus.

  250. I would have said this forget, all of you.

  251. If you don't see what I'm trying to do for you forget it.

  252. No, if it was me, I would have used the pilot defense.

  253. I would have washed my hands and said, I wash my hands of all of

  254. you because I have done nothing wrong and look what you've done

  255. to me, but yet that's not our Jesus.

  256. We need to remember this morning, did, although he very

  257. well could have done that and would have been within His right

  258. to be able to do that because of our unrighteousness.

  259. But yet that's not what he did. He loved and loves until the

  260. end. You say, well, well, you're

  261. saying that about some of these people.

  262. But how do you know that about about everybody?

  263. Well, because of Romans, 5 6 through 8, where it says for

  264. when we were yet without Strength In Due Time Christ died

  265. for the ungodly. Do you know who the ungodly is?

  266. That's us. We were the ungodly before.

  267. We got saved Christ died for the ungodly.

  268. Meaning this he came into this eyes wide open.

  269. He knew what you would do. He knew what I would do?

  270. He knew what they would do before history, even started

  271. being written. And yet this was always the plan

  272. for scarcely for a righteous man will one died yet peradventure

  273. for a good man, some would even dare to die, but God commendeth

  274. God, reveals God shows his love toward us.

  275. Us in that while we were yet. Sinners Christ died for us.

  276. That's love. That's a love.

  277. Unlike any other love, you can find anywhere.

  278. This is the kind of love that loves to the end.

  279. So it reminds me this morning to just ask this question, do you

  280. know Jesus Christ in Salvation today?

  281. Because the next verse in Romans 5, says this Romans 5:9 much

    Romans 5:9

  282. more. Then being now justified by his

  283. blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

  284. How do we know that we're saved, even though we were that?

  285. Lost Sinner, they had done, wickedly and unrighteously and

  286. that Jesus loved us enough and loved us to the end to save us.

  287. Well how do we do it? It's through the blood.

  288. Can I help you with something today?

  289. It's not through what happens here.

  290. This is not what will save you here this morning?

  291. The Bible never says that someone is to get baptized to

  292. bring the vessel of Grace upon them and salvation.

  293. That's not what the Bible says. The Bible makes it clear that

  294. the baptismal Waters were always for those who responded to the

  295. gospel message. That's why the Ethiopian eunuch

  296. said, what doth hinder me to be baptized.

  297. And our King James Bible says which modern versions take out.

  298. It says this it says, if thou believest with all thine heart,

  299. thou Thou mayest and they got out and they went into the water

  300. and they went into the water because Romans 6 tells us that

  301. what happens here in this water is not a, it's not a vessel of

  302. Grace, but as a picture of the grace that have been bestowed

  303. upon us by what the love of Jesus Christ.

  304. We who straightway in the water and then he went down in the

  305. water buried in the likeness of his death and raised in the

  306. likeness of his resurrection. Once again, why it's a picture

  307. of what Jesus did the death burial Resurrection this A

  308. picture of the love of Christ. What we do here today with

  309. Peyton with with our brother Jamie?

  310. What we do here is to picture, not just the death burial

  311. Resurrection but it's to remind us of the great love of Jesus

  312. Christ. If you were to fill this pool

  313. that this horse trough let's just be honest, what it is.

  314. Who know some people get their supplies from, you know, like

  315. the Heritage house and we go to Tractor Supply, you know, that's

  316. just what. That's just who we are, you

  317. know, but here's what I know if you were to fill this with the

  318. the love of God, that it would overflow so much that the old

  319. hymn says that if that if the the sky was parchment and every

  320. man, a scribe by trade and the, the oceans were ink that you

  321. could never write of the love of God.

  322. But yet this pictures, what it is here.

  323. For us today and he loved us until the end.

  324. And if you don't know, Jesus Christ as your savior today,

  325. don't do this to get saved, no repent and call upon Christ to

  326. save you, and then get baptized to confirm what God's already

  327. done in your heart. And all of that's well and good.

  328. And everything that I've said here so far is true, which is

  329. probably a relief seeing as I preach for the last 20 minutes

  330. you probably relieved that I believe that what I said is

  331. true, but I will say that it's a little bit of a departure from

  332. the text. Because the text is very

  333. specific. It's not that God doesn't love

  334. all until the end because he does But it doesn't say in John

    John 13:1

  335. 13 Verse 1 that he loved old to the end.

  336. Again, that's a true saying that doesn't take that away.

  337. But part of preaching biblically is making sure that we don't

  338. just preach what we thinks in the text who actually preach the

  339. text. So, look what it says in John 13

  340. verse number 1. It says now before the Feast of

  341. the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come, that he

  342. should depart out of this world on to the father, having loved.

  343. What's the next two words? His own Which were in the world.

  344. He loved. What's that next?

  345. Word them unto the end. Did he love all to the end?

  346. He did put in those final moments?

  347. What is the message that the holy spirit is trying to convey

  348. to us through this text that? It wasn't just that he loved all

  349. of mankind to the end which he did.

  350. And we'll get to look into that next week and there's I mean,

  351. there's so many verses, I mean, it was like trying to put this

  352. together was trying to go up to a buffet and trying to figure

  353. what verse is do. I use because there's so many,

  354. the speak of the love of God in our life and how we relate to

  355. that. I don't even know where to

  356. begin. But it says he loved his own.

  357. and he loved them, his own until the end, which means this

  358. There's an application for those who are believers here today.

  359. That should be a help. And why is this so important?

  360. Well, here's why it's important in a few verses.

  361. Those ones that he loved at the table to the end that he

  362. specifically speaking of are about to flee. 11 out of 11 or

  363. gone, the closest is John who followed farther away and who

  364. was there at the cross. He was there close enough that

  365. Jesus could convey final instructions to John in

  366. reference to his mother Mary. So we want to maybe, say a

  367. ten-and-a-half at best, but John followed far away 10 of or nine

  368. of them. We don't know what happened to

  369. them. We don't see them until Sunday.

  370. And then there was Peter who we know what happened.

  371. And Peter was worse in the sense that it wasn't just what he did.

  372. That he cursed the fact that he did not know.

  373. Jesus Christ, he cursed and vowed that he did not know.

  374. Jesus Christ in me better way to put that but it was just a few

  375. hours before where he said I will never do that.

  376. I'll never do it. And in the light of that.

  377. We are reminded in John 13:1 in the light of the failure of his

    John 13:1

  378. disciples. You know, in the light of the

  379. failure of his disciples, we are reminded from John 13:1 that he

    John 13:1

  380. still loved us to the end. So, who us?

  381. Well, you're there too and I am if we belong to him.

  382. Cic encouragement for the believer today.

  383. When I look at this thought that moving forward in love reminds

  384. us that even when we fail Jesus he loves us.

  385. Doesn't he loves us when we don't obey him?

  386. John 15:10 says, if you love, if you keep my Commandments, you

    John 15:10

  387. shall abide in my love. Even as I have, kept my father's

  388. Commandments and abide in his love.

  389. Jesus says, I abide my father's Commandments and so I abide in

  390. his love. He says, if you want to show

  391. your love for me abide in my Commandments, Jesus, as I do, my

  392. father, we don't do that very well.

  393. Who are you talking to exactly who I'm looking to?

  394. I know who you are and I know who I am.

  395. And I would I say to you, I say with boldness, but also with the

  396. humility of knowing that I'm in the same boat that you are

  397. having to deal with the same rotten flesh every day.

  398. And yet instead of confirming my love to him through obedience to

  399. him. What I end up doing is straying

  400. from him over and over and over again.

  401. That's why in John 14 of chapter before he said he even more

  402. succinctly. If you love me, keep my

  403. Commandments. But yet, despite the fact that I

  404. do not confirm, my love to him, as I should so often, he loves

  405. me to the end, they don't know. Encourage somebody that all hit

  406. me. Make a Baptists.

  407. Amen. I mean it didn't, but it ought

  408. to sure. When we're not faithful to him.

  409. The things he wants us to do. Ministry that we should do.

  410. You want to talk about Ministry in church?

  411. I'm just talk about ministering to other people at the job site

  412. in your family. The people that you run across,

  413. you need to give attractive. We're not faithful to the Holy

  414. Spirit, Will prompt you say, you know, you should give that track

  415. to someone and we've got a hundred reasons, why not?

  416. But he still loves us, and loves us to the end. when we worry

  417. more about our own Comfort than his glory and his plan, I think

  418. that so often defines us, You know why the disciples ran, they

  419. were more concerned about their safety.

  420. Then the savior, That's why they ran.

  421. They were fearful for their lives.

  422. If you're not sure go fast forward to Sunday, they've

  423. barred the door, making sure that no one would get in.

  424. And despite the fact that they coveted their own safety more

  425. than they did, the security of their savior just as we often do

  426. with our own Comfort. Compared to his glory, his plan,

  427. he still love them and loves us till the end.

  428. So, have you failed? Or fallen or fallen short of

  429. what God has planned for your life.

  430. Understand that, if that's the case, he'll still love you to

  431. the end. Now I will say this, he loves

  432. you far too much to have you stay that way, which is why he

  433. brings loving correction into our lives.

  434. What Hebrews chapter 12 makes it clear.

    Hebrews 12 chapter mention

  435. If you are one of his own, he will correct you as a father to

  436. the children. It's great to watch.

  437. Peyton get baptized today. It's been a blessing to baptize

  438. now all three of my girls and I was just talking with I think

  439. was Kaylee yesterday, the irony of baptizing, a daughter, my

  440. sister. In the name of the father and

  441. the son of the Holy Ghost, it's a beautiful thing to baptize my

  442. daughter. My sister.

  443. That's a great thing. I love that.

  444. You know, some of you might be surprised about this and I feel

  445. uncomfortable talking about it while our teachers here.

  446. But some of you might be surprised that Peyton, sometimes

  447. acts up In my notes it just says here and Jamie Christopher gives

  448. a testimony know I just get know that does it.

  449. That's not Everyday. I'll ask her when she gets in

  450. the car. Did you get a check?

  451. She goes. No, but I do know who did not

  452. want to hear about who did? Do not do not throw them out as

  453. the sacrifice to try to save yourself for the next time you

  454. get a check, I don't want to hear it.

  455. Yeah. That he the tire tracks firmly

  456. on the back of their backs, but there are times we have to

  457. correct her I could give you examples.

  458. You say, well Pastor, don't you love her.

  459. Of course I do, why? Correct?

  460. Why corrector? Well, pastor of God loves me so

  461. much, then then it, he's just never gonna bring correction my

  462. life. You know, he's gonna love you so

  463. much. He is going to lovingly.

  464. Correct. You at times to try to bring

  465. bring you back at. How much do you love Israel?

  466. Israel, the apples. I what do you do?

  467. He kept giving them warnings and profits over and over and over

  468. but yet they wouldn't listen. And what would happen, he'd

  469. bring correction to be able to show them his loving nature and

  470. to draw them back in the fold. So understand this Christ loves

  471. into the end, but that doesn't mean he's going to leave you

  472. alone. If you're a child of God, When

  473. you're in sin, in fact, quite the opposite.

  474. He's gonna do it. Because like a father saying,

  475. well, you know, Peyton go ahead and touch the hot stove.

  476. Who cares? You'll learn your lesson?

  477. No, I'm going to stop her from doing that and I'm going to

  478. teach you the lesson because I don't want her to get hurt.

  479. God is going to bring some things into our lives.

  480. To try to help us is because he loves us till the end and you

  481. better. Be sure that if you have failed

  482. him, he loves you. He cares for you.

  483. He doesn't he desires nothing more than for you.

  484. To come forward to this all to this morning with repentance and

  485. to get your life, right? With him, but if you don't, he's

  486. also going to show you that love by bringing some correction into

  487. your life. Because he loves you to the end.

  488. If you're a child of his, the number one, I see this Christ

  489. loves into the end. But number two, TV, one more

  490. application. Remember this?

  491. We should love Christ. And to the end.

  492. Christ loves us into the end. That's never been questioned.

  493. That could never honestly be questioned throughout human

  494. history with a Christ has loved Humanity.

  495. What is questioned in my life every day is this?

  496. Do I love him to the him? Do I love him to him?

  497. And as we move forward in love this week, and this month.

  498. We ask ourselves this question, why I love him to the end?

  499. Is my love burning hotter for him.

  500. Or waxing colder. Because it should burn hotter

  501. and more brightly with each passing day.

  502. Matthew 24:12 talks to the last days when it says and because

    Matthew 24:12

  503. iniquity shall abound the love of many shall wax cold.

  504. You know when iniquity of bounds in our hearts sin you wanted to

  505. bounds our hearts. You know it does our love for

  506. Christ gets cold. So what happens Knowing the

  507. Bible. Our Salvation is often compared

  508. to marriage many times. There are many comparisons of it

  509. in the Bible. You know, many marriages start

  510. and infatuation. And in and of itself that's not

  511. wrong because of the nature of what love and physical

  512. attraction. All those things are but you

  513. know it's found out over the years that true deep meaningful

  514. love. Goes far beyond just those few

  515. early days. and as you drive, The pile deeper into the

  516. Bedrock. You find this that when that

  517. initial infatuation is not exactly the same as it was and

  518. I'm not saying that you should ever lose that completely, you

  519. really should have that in a marriage.

  520. But boy there should be something deeper.

  521. How can two people in their aged years?

  522. That physically have very little to offer each other.

  523. But yet, look at each other with a deeper love than they had when

  524. they were at the marriage altar. Well, that's a true deep love.

  525. And, you know, I found is often true for believers, there's an

  526. infatuation that takes place, sometimes in the first few days,

  527. weeks, months and years when they get saved.

  528. You say Pastor that's not true. Jesus gave a parable about the

  529. soils and he said there's going to be a type of person that

  530. reacts in that manner they sprout up only to church all the

  531. time. I'm going to be in future Pastor

  532. all open the doors for you. I'm going to be what could I do?

  533. Where could I go? What can I do?

  534. What can I give? They're doing everything in

  535. month and month a year later. You never see him again.

  536. Or there's some that hang around church for years.

  537. But their heart is just the same as the one who left after a

  538. year. And Jesus is Love Will Last to

  539. the end, but our love for Jesus. Wayne's overtime.

  540. When we baptized, we often use the ring as an example because

  541. that's what baptism is. It's a symbol.

  542. This ring. I'm not no longer married

  543. because I took it off. It's a symbol of what took place

  544. was 20 years ago by the way. Yeah, dude.

  545. Whoa, what was that? No, I'm not sure how I feel

  546. about them. It's a was it we were at a

  547. preacher's meeting a few weeks ago and I did.

  548. They said, you know, tell how long you're in the ministry, I

  549. stood up and said I'm Rivero and 17 or 18 years in full-time

  550. Ministry to goes. I didn't realize you were that

  551. old said the same to you buddy. All right, so let's strike that

  552. from the record. All right, but let me get to it.

  553. Let me get to the point. Aunt, I'm veering from the

  554. point. I'm grounded.

  555. Third and coming home. And I'm about to trip on the

  556. Baseline. Here, here's what I know.

  557. Is that this symbol? At a wedding is often called the

  558. symbol of marriage. I don't know how many pastors

  559. I've heard that it said this in the wedding's they've done and

  560. say, well is a symbol of marriage because it's a

  561. never-ending love. Here's the problem.

  562. It's not always. The statistics L is 50 percent

  563. of marriages end in divorce and it's not much different even

  564. within the realm of Christianity.

  565. And so what I'm saying, is it because we're frail human

  566. beings, it's not always the case.

  567. This symbol. You know that this should be the

  568. symbol of our love with Christ. You want to you want a real

  569. symbol of everlasting love? He will love us to the end.

  570. By the way, I'm not trying to take away from the text or add

  571. to the text. But what it says he loved them

  572. to the end it, I believe that it means that he was going to

  573. fulfill his love to them through his Earthly Ministry.

  574. That's what it's speaking of a net context, but we not also

  575. agree that he not only loves us to our end, but beyond our end

  576. here in this life and into the next So, why wouldn't I want to

  577. have a love that grows stronger? over the years of my savior,

  578. some of some of you, it's getting a little cold, And just

  579. like in a marriage where things get cold.

  580. And difficult. And awkward.

  581. How much more so with our savior?

  582. When between two people. There can be fault on both

  583. sides. Let's be honest, even if it's

  584. great fault on one side and really not much on the other,

  585. I'm just saying that there can be But here's what I know when

  586. it comes to my relationship with Christ.

  587. It's never his fault. It's never been his fault.

  588. People disappoint, you. People will hurt you.

  589. But Jesus loves to the end. Let's use that love towards

  590. others, to the end but let's make sure we're loving him to

  591. the end. And that every day my

  592. relationship and love for him is stronger, not weaker than the

  593. day before. Thank you for listening to the
