  1. Thank you so much, praise band, for leading us this morning in worship.

  2. What a blessing you are.

  3. If you have your Bibles, I want you to turn to Genesis chapter 13.

    Genesis 13 chapter mention

  4. Genesis chapter 13.

    Genesis 13 chapter mention

  5. You know life is strange.

  6. It seems like we kind of live life backwards.

  7. We make some of the most crucial decisions of our life

  8. when we don't know any better.

  9. You see the value of your education when you're finished.

  10. No do-overs.

  11. You see the wisdom of your parents when you're grown.

  12. You know the most about parenting when your kids are out of the house.

  13. And you hear yourself as you get older say,

  14. if I'd only known,

  15. if I could do that again.

  16. So what can we learn from that?

  17. Now I will tell you, I've struggled with saying what I'm about to say

  18. because I know it may be offensive to you.

  19. But the more I ponder, the more I believe it's true.

  20. We're not really prepared to handle life by ourselves.

  21. Now I know a lot of self-made people may take offense to that.

  22. But I'm sorry.

  23. The reality is we're not really prepared to handle life by ourself.

  24. It is as if we were not made to master it on our own, actually.

  25. And if we try, we're going to mess up.

  26. Lot messed up.

  27. Abram's nephew, Lot, messed up.

  28. And I believe the account of his mess-ups are in Scripture

  29. so we don't make the same kind of mistakes ourselves.

  30. So I want us to look at Lot's example this morning.

  31. Not to follow it, to learn from it.

  32. Now, Genesis chapter 13, beginning in verse 1 says,

    Genesis 13 chapter mention

  33. So Abram went up from Egypt.

  34. He and his wife and all that he had and Lot with him into the Negev.

  35. Now Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold.

  36. And he journeyed on from the Negev as far as Bethel

  37. to the place where his tent had been at the beginning

  38. between Bethel and Ai,

  39. to the place where he had made an altar at the first.

  40. And there Abram called upon the name of the Lord.

  41. And Lot, who went with Abram,

  42. also had flocks and herds and tents,

  43. so that the land could not support both of them dwelling together.

  44. For their possessions were so great that they could not dwell together.

  45. And there was strife between the herdsmen of Abram's livestock

  46. and the herdsmen of Lot's livestock.

  47. At that time, the Canaanites and the Barizzazites were dwelling in the land.

  48. And then Abram said to Lot,

  49. Let there be no strife between you and me

  50. and between your herdsmen and my herdsmen,

  51. for we are kinsmen.

  52. Is not the whole land before you?

  53. Separate yourself from me.

  54. If you take the left hand, then I'll go to the right.

  55. And if you take the right hand, then I'll go to the left.

  56. And Lot lifted up his eyes

  57. and saw that the Jordan Valley was well watered,

  58. everything like the garden of the Lord,

  59. like the land of Egypt in the direction of Zor.

  60. This was before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.

  61. That's a prophecy there, folks, aforementioned.

  62. So Lot chose for himself all the Jordan Valley,

  63. and Lot journeyed east.

  64. Thus they separated from each other.

  65. Abram settled in the land of Canaan,

  66. where Lot settled among the cities of the valley

  67. and moved his tent as far as Sodom.

  68. Now the men of Sodom were wicked,

  69. great sinners against the Lord.

  70. I guess having too much is a good problem to have.

  71. You know, I guess it's better than having too little.

  72. But it can also be a huge problem.

  73. Scripture says that he was very rich.

  74. In other words, Abram was rolling.

  75. You know, the word actually very rich,

  76. the word in Hebrew actually means heavy.

  77. So in other words, he was loaded.

  78. He appeared to be doing okay financially

  79. before he went into Egypt.

  80. But remember when he went up to Egypt,

  81. Egypt took care of him.

  82. Because he gave his wife,

  83. he just claimed her as a sister,

  84. gave his wife to Pharaoh for a time.

  85. And Egypt took care of him because of that.

  86. And he was able to take all that he had with him

  87. when the plagues came and Pharaoh said,

  88. take your wife and get out of here

  89. and all your stuff too.

  90. So he left very rich.

  91. And he's loaded with people too.

  92. Family and all those acquaintances,

  93. extended family are like guests.

  94. And Ben Franklin said,

  95. guests are like fish.

  96. After three days, they start to smell.

  97. And it was Abram's fault, quite honestly,

  98. that they were in this situation.

  99. God told him to leave his extended family behind.

  100. But he didn't.

  101. Took his father with him

  102. and his father had him hang out in Haran way too long.

  103. And he was supposed to go to Canaan.

  104. But when times got tough,

  105. instead of trusting the Lord to get him through,

  106. he went to the wealth of Egypt

  107. and profited from it.

  108. But he also inherited the mess that it made for him.

  109. Now as they leave Egypt,

  110. they have conflict.

  111. Literally in the original language,

  112. that speaks of physical and verbal conflict, fighting.

  113. They were getting after it.

  114. And it was the herdsmen against the herdsmen.

  115. So they're fighting over property

  116. and what sheep belongs to who

  117. and all that kind of stuff.

  118. And remember,

  119. they wasn't even supposed to be on this journey.

  120. Lot wasn't even supposed to make it to this journey.

  121. And things were shook.

  122. And Lot was blessed with livestock as well.

  123. And verse 5 says they had many tents.

  124. Well, they had people in those tents.

  125. They had a flock of people with them too.

  126. And traveling with that many people,

  127. I mean, if you've ever been on a bus ride for several days,

  128. you know that no matter how big that bus is,

  129. it ain't big enough to be with those people.

  130. And then with more livestock and more food and more water,

  131. all that's needed,

  132. and this is a land that was hit by the famine earlier.

  133. And besides that, Scripture tells us

  134. that the land is filled with Canaanites and Perizzocites.

  135. I mean, Perizzocites sounds enough like parasites

  136. to make you know they're good for nothing, you know.

  137. But plus, let me add,

  138. Abram and his family were rich folk.

  139. Rich folk have a sense of entitlement to them, you know.

  140. I mean, they don't want to just live off the land.

  141. They want to live nice, you know.

  142. I've come to define rich folk as those folks who,

  143. not for a special occasion, just for a meal out,

  144. they'll order an appetizer and dessert.

  145. Man, what's that like, you know?

  146. And there are not a lot of desserts in this land.

  147. It's not there.

  148. And now everyone's sprawling out like Texas

  149. and something's got to give.

  150. And Abram could have said, get out, but he didn't.

  151. He didn't.

  152. He told Lot, pick where you want to go.

  153. If you go to the left, I'll go to the right.

  154. If you go to the right, I'll go to the left.

  155. You pick where you want to go.

  156. Don't ever let that slip by unnoticed.

  157. Because Abram not only treated him like an equal,

  158. which he was not, but Abram put Lot before himself.

  159. Not only does that speak of a corrected course

  160. in Abram's life along the way,

  161. but he is now following and trusting the Lord again.

  162. But it also speaks of an increase in his faith.

  163. Because he's trusting the Lord he's going to provide.

  164. He didn't trust in himself.

  165. He didn't trust in Lot.

  166. He's just trusting in God.

  167. And he gave God control of his future.

  168. And my friend, that's exactly where he needed to be.

  169. And that's exactly where we need to be.

  170. Lot, on the other hand, didn't do so well.

  171. And we can learn from both.

  172. The ramifications for Lot would be huge,

  173. but his future could be different

  174. if his decision-making was different.

  175. But he didn't aim in the right direction.

  176. He wasn't really prepared to manage life by himself.

  177. Nor are we.

  178. Now, I realize when I stand in this room,

  179. I am surrounded by a lot of smart,

  180. successful, and good people.

  181. And then there are those other ones.

  182. But anyway.

  183. But we're prepared to manage our lives by ourselves.

  184. We feel like we are.

  185. But the reality is we're not prepared

  186. to handle life by ourselves.

  187. And to be honest,

  188. we're not intended to handle life by ourselves.

  189. God made us to be in relationship with him

  190. and depend upon him.

  191. And that kind of dependence

  192. kind of rubs against us sometimes

  193. because we like to be independent.

  194. I don't need anybody else.

  195. I don't depend on anybody.

  196. I got this.

  197. Well, watch out

  198. because it'll eventually show what you got.

  199. And if we get that wrong,

  200. it causes a lot of headache.

  201. And Lot got it wrong.

  202. Lot chose for himself.

  203. So this episode in his life

  204. that affected his future

  205. begs us to ask three life questions

  206. about ourselves.

  207. One is this.

  208. Are we merely trusting what we can see?

  209. Are we merely trusting what we can see?

  210. Lot was not grateful for what he had.

  211. He was greedy.

  212. And he was looking for more wealth

  213. and he was looking for more plenty

  214. and he was standing on the ledge

  215. in the midst of a parched land

  216. and he was seeing garden-like plains before him.

  217. Garden of Eden style stuff.

  218. Now I'm telling you,

  219. the Jordan River was winding

  220. through the deepest gorge in the world

  221. with lush and green grass on both sides

  222. and beautiful palms all along the banks.

  223. It was around those areas

  224. that some of the great cities were built.

  225. But what he couldn't see from that angle

  226. was the rest of the river

  227. because the Jordan, the Yarden,

  228. means descender.

  229. And the Jordan River is a sinking down as it goes

  230. and it, as in death of sorts

  231. because when John the Baptist baptized in the Jordan River,

  232. he symbolized the death of the old self

  233. and the resurrection of the spiritually dead

  234. to life in Christ.

  235. And the sad reality is

  236. the life-giving waters of the Jordan

  237. dropped far below sea level,

  238. 1,414 feet below sea level

  239. into the Dead Sea,

  240. a sea so salty that nothing can live in it.

  241. And I found out when I visited there

  242. that if you accidentally splash yourself in the eye,

  243. you won't see for quite some time.

  244. They say you can float.

  245. But on the bus, on the way to the Dead Sea,

  246. that overcrowded bus I was talking about,

  247. somebody said,

  248. you know they say

  249. that if you ever get upside down in the Dead Sea,

  250. you bob and you can't get back up.

  251. So I went out there in the Dead Sea.

  252. Don't laugh at me.

  253. I went out there in the Dead Sea

  254. and I laid back.

  255. You know, I've seen people with pictures

  256. reading the newspaper

  257. and they're just floating.

  258. And I leaned back

  259. and I thought I leaned back a little too far.

  260. And I didn't want to be the one dude

  261. in American history that visited Israel

  262. that drowned in the Dead Sea from bobbing

  263. and they couldn't get the old boy back up.

  264. And so in my effort to sit back up,

  265. I splashed myself with a seawater

  266. that's ten times saltier than ocean water.

  267. And the trip was over.

  268. I was done.

  269. The guy I was with said,

  270. hey man, watch it.

  271. I said, I can't see anything.

  272. It's a horrible experience.

  273. Lot should have known better.

  274. That's all I'm saying.

  275. What looked promising though to Lot's eye

  276. was actually choosing death.

  277. And it's a lesson for us.

  278. Don't let money and possessions

  279. and property be your guide.

  280. Don't let that stuff

  281. cause quarrels

  282. and fights

  283. and divisions.

  284. It's not worth it.

  285. And that was

  286. not only Lot's,

  287. that was not his only mistake.

  288. The second question

  289. I think we ought to ask ourselves is this.

  290. Are we solely

  291. making our own

  292. decisions?

  293. Because Lot was

  294. protecting his status.

  295. really.

  296. Instead of his family.

  297. He was trying to get

  298. everything that he possibly could

  299. no matter what the cost.

  300. But the reality is

  301. the best may not always

  302. look like the greatest.

  303. He was choosing for himself

  304. instead of trusting God.

  305. He felt certain

  306. for what he could see.

  307. And you shouldn't feel certain

  308. about what you can see.

  309. Actually, that's exactly

  310. the opposite of living

  311. a life of faith

  312. when Hebrews 11.1

  313. describes faith as this.

  314. Faith is the assurance

  315. of things hoped for.

  316. The conviction of things

  317. not seen.

  318. The things that you cannot see.

  319. How can we be certain

  320. about the things

  321. that we cannot see?

  322. We put our faith

  323. not in what we can do

  324. and not in what we can see

  325. but what in God can see

  326. and what God can do.

  327. And what God will do.

  328. And that's why

  329. it's so important

  330. that we must be

  331. spirit led in our lives.

  332. Because that is the opposite

  333. of how we think

  334. in the flesh.

  335. And most of the time

  336. we believe it is the stuff

  337. that we can see

  338. that we can be certain of

  339. as we prognosticate

  340. about things.

  341. But instead of what

  342. God will show us

  343. and Lot learned

  344. the difference.

  345. Sadly.

  346. Let's learn from Lot.

  347. Let's don't make

  348. the same mistake.

  349. In reality

  350. his greatest uncertainty

  351. his greatest mistake

  352. came because

  353. he trusted what he saw.

  354. What he thought

  355. he could grasp.

  356. Third question is this.

  357. Are we hanging out

  358. in the right places?

  359. Are we hanging out

  360. in the right places?

  361. He pitched his tent

  362. among the wrong people.

  363. He pitched his tent

  364. near Sodom.

  365. Now you know

  366. that we get our word

  367. sodomy

  368. from that word

  369. because of the depth

  370. of the sexual sin

  371. in that area.

  372. However,

  373. their sin was more

  374. than that.

  375. Ezekiel 16,

  376. 49,

  377. and 50

  378. says this about Sodom.

  379. It says,

  380. Sodom

  381. had pride,

  382. excess of food,

  383. and prosperous

  384. ease.

  385. But did not aid

  386. the poor

  387. and needy.

  388. They were haughty

  389. and did an abomination

  390. before God.

  391. Now let me be clear

  392. about Sodom

  393. and we'll get there

  394. in a week or two.

  395. If you think

  396. the Christian church

  397. can turn a blind eye

  398. to the sinful

  399. sexual abominations

  400. of the world,

  401. you're wrong.

  402. We can't.

  403. The world is loud.

  404. Loud about the matters

  405. of sex and gender.

  406. And the church

  407. needs to stand

  408. and proclaim

  409. the truth

  410. in the matter

  411. as boldly

  412. as we hear it

  413. from others.

  414. But just as true,

  415. if we are proudly

  416. and easily

  417. ignoring the needs

  418. of others,

  419. Scripture says

  420. we're haughty

  421. and an abomination

  422. as well.

  423. It is not our job

  424. to focus on one

  425. and not the other.

  426. It's our job

  427. to take care

  428. of both.

  429. And not only

  430. was Lot pitching

  431. his tent near Sodom,

  432. but the Canaanites

  433. and the Perizzites

  434. were also living

  435. in that land.

  436. Those are enemies

  437. of God's people.

  438. They are stumbling blocks

  439. for Lot.

  440. But his conflict

  441. was with a believer,

  442. which was Abram.

  443. Abram,

  444. a man of faith.

  445. So let's not act

  446. like Abram

  447. and Lot

  448. because the reality

  449. is if believers

  450. struggle against each other,

  451. while we're struggling

  452. against each other,

  453. there's a lost world

  454. out there

  455. in the same land

  456. that we will fail

  457. to reach

  458. if all we do

  459. is get fascinated

  460. with each other.

  461. Those who are against

  462. the work of the Lord

  463. are lurking.

  464. They want to embarrass us

  465. or see us

  466. embarrass ourselves.

  467. They are also

  468. the evils

  469. of the flesh nearby.

  470. Scripture says,

  471. like a lion

  472. seeking whom

  473. he may devour.

  474. You need to remember

  475. as what Ephesians 6,

  476. 12 tells us,

  477. that we don't

  478. wrestle against

  479. flesh and blood,

  480. but against the rulers,

  481. against the authorities,

  482. against the cosmic powers

  483. of this present darkness,

  484. against the spiritual forces

  485. of evil

  486. in the heavenly places.

  487. Our battle's not

  488. against flesh and blood.

  489. Our hatred

  490. don't need to be shown

  491. upon each other.

  492. So while Christians

  493. take their eyes

  494. off of what we're

  495. supposed to be doing

  496. and deal with

  497. the trivialities

  498. among each other

  499. or just selfishly

  500. set our own course

  501. and do our own thing,

  502. the enemies of the Lord

  503. are striving

  504. to divide

  505. and to conquer.

  506. Why wouldn't the devil

  507. take full advantage

  508. of that?

  509. Church,

  510. we can't be asleep.

  511. He took advantage

  512. in Lot's life

  513. because Lot

  514. wasn't paying attention

  515. and Lot didn't

  516. see it coming

  517. and the text

  518. reminds us here,

  519. prophesies to us

  520. that this is before

  521. the Lord destroyed

  522. Sodom and Gomorrah

  523. because God

  524. saw it coming.

  525. Lot didn't see it coming

  526. and Lot didn't

  527. trust God

  528. with what he was to do.

  529. He just looked

  530. with his eyes.

  531. He picked

  532. what he thought

  533. was best.

  534. Friend,

  535. we don't know

  536. what tomorrow holds

  537. but we better know

  538. that the one

  539. that holds tomorrow

  540. we better know

  541. the one that holds tomorrow

  542. and we better let him

  543. call the shots

  544. of our life.

  545. If not,

  546. we will inevitably

  547. keep pitching

  548. our tents

  549. a little bit closer

  550. to Sodom

  551. every time.

  552. Just inching.

  553. Just moving

  554. that way.

  555. Just moving

  556. that way.

  557. There's an option.

  558. There's an option

  559. that we ought

  560. to take

  561. and I think

  562. God,

  563. Abram,

  564. claimed that option

  565. and the option

  566. is to trust

  567. the Lord.

  568. Trust the Lord.

  569. He let God

  570. lead him

  571. and I want you

  572. to watch

  573. what happens

  574. when he let God

  575. lead him.

  576. it's in Genesis

    Genesis 13 chapter mention

  577. chapter 13

  578. beginning in verse 14

  579. and it says this.

  580. The Lord said to Abram,

  581. after Lot had

  582. separated from him,

  583. lift up your eyes

  584. and look from the place

  585. where you are

  586. northward and southward

  587. and eastward and westward

  588. for all the land

  589. that you see

  590. I will give to you

  591. and to your offspring

  592. forever.

  593. I'll make your offspring

  594. as the dust

  595. of the earth

  596. so that if one

  597. can count

  598. the dust

  599. of the earth

  600. your offspring

  601. also can be counted.

  602. Arise,

  603. walk through the length

  604. and the breadth

  605. of the land

  606. for I will give it

  607. to you.

  608. So Abram,

  609. oh I love this,

  610. moved his tent

  611. and came

  612. and settled

  613. by the oaks

  614. of Mamrie

  615. which are at Hebron

  616. and there he built

  617. an altar to the Lord.

  618. Oh,

  619. pick up on this difference.

  620. He didn't trust

  621. his vision.

  622. He trusted God's.

  623. He didn't choose

  624. for himself.

  625. He let God choose.

  626. He didn't pitch

  627. his tents

  628. with the wickedness

  629. of the world.

  630. He pitched his tents

  631. in the oaks

  632. of Mamrie.

  633. Mamrie is a

  634. Hebrew word

  635. for fatness.

  636. That sounds

  637. a lot better

  638. than descending

  639. down to death,

  640. don't it?

  641. Not only that

  642. but it says

  643. he also was

  644. in Hebron

  645. and Hebron

  646. means fellowship.

  647. So in other words

  648. he was in a place

  649. of fatness

  650. and fellowship

  651. and he built

  652. an altar

  653. to the Lord.

  654. He didn't try

  655. to manage

  656. his own life decisions.

  657. He let the Lord

  658. do that

  659. and God built

  660. a great nation

  661. through him.

  662. As Jesus

  663. reminds us

  664. he sought

  665. first the kingdom

  666. of God

  667. and his righteousness

  668. and all these

  669. things

  670. whatever they are

  671. in your life

  672. these things

  673. will be added

  674. unto you

  675. as long as you

  676. seek

  677. the kingdom

  678. of God.

  679. These things

  680. are that stuff

  681. that you need

  682. or the stuff

  683. that you're worried

  684. about.

  685. Trust God

  686. he'll take care

  687. of that.

  688. but it may

  689. be like

  690. for Abram

  691. in your life

  692. it may be

  693. that you need

  694. correction

  695. in your life

  696. you need

  697. repentance

  698. in your life

  699. you need

  700. to turn

  701. 180 degrees

  702. and that's

  703. exactly what

  704. Abram did

  705. he had to

  706. go back

  707. from where

  708. he had

  709. started

  710. and trust

  711. the one

  712. that he trusted

  713. when he was

  714. there before

  715. before he tried

  716. to go on

  717. his own

  718. because when

  719. he went

  720. on his own

  721. and made

  722. his own

  723. decisions

  724. he pitched

  725. his tents

  726. in Egypt

  727. and placed

  728. his wife

  729. in Pharaoh's

  730. house

  731. and placed

  732. his nephew

  733. under the

  734. influence

  735. of evil

  736. presence

  737. and got

  738. their mind

  739. off of what

  740. it needed

  741. to be on

  742. and led

  743. them to make

  744. bad decisions

  745. along the way

  746. and it wasn't

  747. until Abram

  748. came back

  749. to where

  750. he had been

  751. when he was

  752. right with God

  753. that God

  754. told him

  755. walk the

  756. land

  757. everything

  758. you see

  759. and everything

  760. you touch

  761. I'll give

  762. to you

  763. and I'll

  764. bless you

  765. beyond measure

  766. that's an

  767. old man

  768. he's talking

  769. to

  770. and he

  771. just promised

  772. him the

  773. world

  774. I want to

  775. close with

  776. one more

  777. life question

  778. I know I

  779. said three

  780. I lied

  781. one more

  782. what do

  783. we do

  784. when we

  785. realize

  786. we messed

  787. up

  788. I got

  789. good news

  790. for you

  791. we begin

  792. again

  793. we begin

  794. again

  795. time is

  796. wasting folks

  797. but we can

  798. begin again

  799. and we can

  800. get it right

  801. aren't you

  802. thankful today

  803. that God

  804. always allows

  805. us to come

  806. back

  807. and make it

  808. right

  809. aren't you

  810. thankful today

  811. that God

  812. always allows

  813. us to come

  814. back and make

  815. it right

  816. amen

  817. but we first

  818. have to admit

  819. that we're not

  820. really equipped

  821. to manage

  822. our lives

  823. on our own

  824. and before

  825. you take

  826. offense of

  827. that I

  828. want you

  829. to know

  830. God never

  831. intended for

  832. us to do

  833. that

  834. he always

  835. intended for

  836. us to walk

  837. with him

  838. and depend

  839. upon him

  840. and allow him

  841. to guide us

  842. so let's not

  843. trust our eyes

  844. let's trust

  845. the Lord

  846. let's not

  847. choose for

  848. ourselves

  849. let's let

  850. God choose

  851. and let's

  852. watch where

  853. we hang

  854. out

  855. let's be

  856. careful where

  857. we pitch

  858. our tents

  859. instead

  860. let God

  861. guide us

  862. and when he

  863. guides us

  864. we'll be

  865. blessed

  866. with every head

  867. bowed and

  868. every eye closed

  869. in this room

  870. I ask you

  871. for something

  872. I ask you

  873. if you've ever

  874. made a decision

  875. to follow the

  876. Lord Jesus

  877. as your

  878. personal Lord

  879. Savior

  880. I want you

  881. to know

  882. if you

  883. haven't done

  884. that

  885. you've made

  886. a lot of

  887. wrong decisions

  888. along the way

  889. and the reality

  890. is

  891. that I'm

  892. thankful today

  893. that you have

  894. an opportunity

  895. of salvation

  896. today

  897. if you'll admit

  898. to the Lord

  899. Jesus that you

  900. are a sinner

  901. that you've

  902. done wrong

  903. that you realize

  904. it's separated

  905. you from the

  906. Father

  907. that you'd

  908. like to

  909. take Christ's

  910. sacrificial death

  911. as your salvation

  912. and surrender

  913. your life

  914. to the Lord

  915. Jesus

  916. I want you to

  917. know he'll guide

  918. your path

  919. you can trust

  920. him

  921. that's a big

  922. step

  923. more than you

  924. can see

  925. I get that

  926. but I promise

  927. you

  928. he's right there

  929. with you

  930. guiding you

  931. all the way

  932. God's drawing

  933. you to himself

  934. today

  935. don't ignore

  936. him

  937. you respond

  938. as he speaks

  939. to your heart

  940. and life

  941. we'll stand

  942. in just a moment

  943. and we'll sing

  944. and as we do

  945. more important

  946. than singing

  947. it's your

  948. invitation to

  949. come

  950. we'd love

  951. to guide

  952. you in what

  953. it means

  954. to have a

  955. personal

  956. relationship

  957. with Christ

  958. maybe you

  959. know that

  960. you do have

  961. a personal

  962. relationship

  963. with Christ

  964. but the reality

  965. is you're

  966. not going

  967. in the right

  968. direction

  969. you're pitching

  970. your tent

  971. in the wrong

  972. place

  973. you're living

  974. off your own

  975. site

  976. you're not

  977. doing exactly

  978. what you need

  979. to do

  980. you need

  981. to come

  982. back

  983. to a place

  984. where you

  985. were before

  986. in your life

  987. where things

  988. were right

  989. and make it

  990. right again

  991. and I'm

  992. thankful that

  993. God allows

  994. you to come

  995. back

  996. we can trust

  997. him with that

  998. you may want

  999. to do that

  1000. personally

  1001. where you

  1002. are

  1003. you may

  1004. want to

  1005. do it

  1006. at this

  1007. altar

  1008. you may

  1009. want a

  1010. pastor

  1011. to pray

  1012. with you

  1013. whatever it

  1014. is

  1015. I just

  1016. encourage you

  1017. to be

  1018. obedient

  1019. to God

  1020. maybe God's

  1021. drawing you

  1022. to be a part

  1023. of this

  1024. fellowship

  1025. you know

  1026. this is your

  1027. church home

  1028. God's made

  1029. that clear

  1030. to you

  1031. I encourage

  1032. you to come

  1033. as God

  1034. leads you

  1035. we'll guide

  1036. you through

  1037. that process

  1038. or maybe

  1039. there's one

  1040. here today

  1041. who's made

  1042. a personal

  1043. relationship

  1044. with Christ

  1045. and made

  1046. that commitment

  1047. to Christ

  1048. but there's

  1049. never been a

  1050. time when you

  1051. look back

  1052. over your life

  1053. since that time

  1054. you gave your

  1055. heart and life

  1056. to the Lord

  1057. Jesus Christ

  1058. and I want you

  1059. to know

  1060. if that's the

  1061. case

  1062. it'll be a

  1063. great hindrance

  1064. in your life

  1065. to keep you

  1066. from being

  1067. everything that

  1068. God would have

  1069. you to be

  1070. the devil

  1071. loves

  1072. to play off

  1073. of our

  1074. lack of

  1075. public

  1076. confession

  1077. of faith

  1078. to make us

  1079. weak in our

  1080. faith

  1081. so just

  1082. trust him

  1083. with that

  1084. I have

  1085. no idea

  1086. how God

  1087. spoke to you

  1088. I know how

  1089. he spoke to me

  1090. this week

  1091. as I worked

  1092. on this

  1093. but I want

  1094. you to know

  1095. you'll never

  1096. be satisfied

  1097. unless you

  1098. follow the

  1099. Lord Jesus

  1100. and in him

  1101. you'll find

  1102. your satisfaction

  1103. so just

  1104. trust him

  1105. today

  1106. and be

  1107. obedient

  1108. to him

  1109. Lord Jesus

  1110. I love

  1111. you

  1112. and I

  1113. thank you

  1114. for allowing

  1115. us to study

  1116. your word

  1117. together

  1118. to worship

  1119. you dear

  1120. God

  1121. to hear

  1122. from you

  1123. God

  1124. give us

  1125. the boldness

  1126. the fortitude

  1127. the wisdom

  1128. the strength

  1129. dear God

  1130. to respond

  1131. in obedience

  1132. as you speak

  1133. to our hearts

  1134. and lives

  1135. lead us

  1136. right now

  1137. oh God

  1138. I pray

  1139. in Jesus

  1140. name

  1141. amen
