  1. powerful military force that is ready and able to defend us if we are attacked or if there's any

  2. kind of warlike crisis. As individuals, we have education, technology, medicine, talented people

  3. to provide us with at least some power to face almost any crisis. But in the face of this

  4. coronavirus emergency, many people, many Americans have felt powerless. You may have. Sometimes I do.

  5. And it's frustrating, isn't it? It's discouraging. Well, I have some good news this morning. On this

  6. Easter Sunday morning, I want us to understand that God is in full control of everything. He is in full

  7. control of this universe. God clearly demonstrated the unmatched greatness of His power when He raised

  8. Jesus from the dead on that first Easter Sunday morning. It was a tremendous demonstration of the

  9. mighty power of God. And I want you to listen to this. Take this to heart. God has made this same great

  10. power available to us, you and me, as His people. In Ephesians chapter 1, Paul prays for Christians to have

    Ephesians 1 chapter mention

  11. both a knowledge of and experience with God's power. That's what we're going to look at this morning.

  12. I want to invite you to open your Bible to Ephesians chapter 1. We're going to look at verses 16 through 23,

    Ephesians 1 chapter mention

  13. where Paul tells us about what and how he has prayed for these Christians. When we get to verse 19,

  14. it just seems like Paul gets excited as he prays for them to experience God's power. And the reason I say

  15. that is you look at verse 19, he just goes all out to emphasize the greatness of God's power. Let's look at

  16. Ephesians chapter 1, beginning in verse 16. I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my

    Ephesians 1 chapter mention

  17. prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the spirit of wisdom

  18. and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. Having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know

  19. what is the hope to which He has called you. What are the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints?

  20. Now, let's pay close attention to how Paul describes God's power beginning in the next verse, verse 19.

  21. And what is the immeasurable greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His great might,

  22. that He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,

  23. far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named,

  24. not only in this age, but also in the one to come. And He put all things under His feet and gave Him as head

  25. over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

  26. The goal for us today as we look at this passage is the same as God's goal for the Ephesians,

  27. to make sure that we have knowledge of and experience with God's great power.

  28. The first thing I want us to consider is a question. Can you point to evidence of the unmatched greatness of God's power?

  29. In other words, can you point to evidence of God's power in action?

  30. Somewhere in history, in life, can you point to evidence of God's great power?

  31. Well, Paul points out two powerful demonstrations that every Christian should be familiar with.

  32. Let's look at it again. Number one, He raised Jesus from the dead.

  33. That's the great demonstration of God's power that He is focusing on, that He's excited about,

  34. and that we need to be excited about this morning.

  35. Look at the verses again, verses 19 and 20.

  36. The immeasurable greatness of His power toward us who believe,

  37. according to the working of His great might,

  38. that He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead.

  39. When God the Father raised the Son from the dead,

  40. it was the greatest demonstration of power in all of history.

  41. Now think about it with me.

  42. You know, most of you, if you're a Bible reader,

  43. there are a handful or so places in the Bible

  44. where someone was brought back from the dead.

  45. Three weeks ago, we looked at a passage in John chapter 11

    John 11 chapter mention

  46. where Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead.

  47. Now, what I want us to understand when Jesus raised Lazarus

  48. and all the other times that someone was raised to life,

  49. what the Scripture is describing is someone coming back to life

  50. in the same body, the same person, condition that they were previously in.

  51. It was really a restoration of the earthly life of the person who was raised.

  52. For example, Lazarus.

  53. He died again.

  54. Every person that you read about other than Jesus,

  55. people who died and Jesus or one of the prophets

  56. or one of the apostles brought them back to life,

  57. they died again.

  58. And they were buried.

  59. And their body is in a grave somewhere in this world right now.

  60. But the resurrection of Jesus is totally different.

  61. When God raised Jesus on that Sunday morning,

  62. Jesus had a new, glorified, resurrected body

  63. that will never experience pain, suffering, or death again.

  64. You know, that's the kind of body that we as Christians

  65. will receive one day when Jesus comes back to this earth.

  66. We will receive a new, resurrected, glorified body

  67. that will never suffer any kind of disease,

  68. experience a crisis, never die again.

  69. Think about this new body.

  70. Think about it in terms of Jesus' new body.

  71. After Jesus arose from the grave,

  72. people saw Him.

  73. They touched Him.

  74. They heard Him speak.

  75. Some people even saw Jesus cook fish over an open fire.

  76. They saw Him eat.

  77. Jesus appeared in bodily form

  78. to over 500 people

  79. in different locations

  80. over a period of 40 days.

  81. And His appearance, His presence, His power

  82. made a difference in the lives of His disciples.

  83. After His disciples saw Him,

  84. the resurrected Jesus,

  85. and later were filled with the Holy Spirit,

  86. they were just radically changed.

  87. Before His death and resurrection,

  88. they deserted Him.

  89. They ran away.

  90. They were cowards.

  91. But after the resurrection,

  92. they boldly and publicly declared

  93. that Jesus Christ is the risen Lord and Savior

  94. of all who will believe in Him.

  95. Many of those disciples,

  96. tradition tells us,

  97. died by execution

  98. because they would not renounce their faith.

  99. They would not in any way compromise

  100. their commitment

  101. to the risen Lord Jesus Christ.

  102. God demonstrated His power

  103. by raising Jesus from the dead.

  104. But that's not all.

  105. That's not where He stopped.

  106. We also see that He exalted Jesus

  107. to His right hand.

  108. Look back again.

  109. Those same scriptures.

  110. The immeasurable greatness of His power

  111. toward us who believe,

  112. according to the working of His great might,

  113. that He worked in Christ

  114. when He raised Him from the dead,

  115. and seated Him at His right hand

  116. in the heavenly places.

  117. The exaltation of Jesus

  118. to the right hand of the Father

  119. is also a tremendous demonstration

  120. of God's power.

  121. It also demonstrates the power

  122. and the authority of Jesus

  123. as He is seated

  124. in that place of authority and power

  125. there at God's right hand.

  126. I want you to look at verses 21 and 22

  127. because they describe

  128. this authority and power

  129. that Jesus now possesses.

  130. And seated Him

  131. in His right hand

  132. in the heavenly places

  133. far above all rule

  134. and authority

  135. and power

  136. and dominion

  137. and above every name

  138. that is named

  139. not only in this age

  140. but also in the one to come.

  141. And He put all things

  142. under His feet

  143. and gave Him as head

  144. over all things

  145. to the church.

  146. Jesus Christ is alive right now.

  147. He's at the Father's right hand.

  148. He rules over everything

  149. now.

  150. And He will forever.

  151. We saw last week

  152. from Romans chapter 8

    Romans 8 chapter mention

  153. and verse 31

  154. that something else

  155. Jesus is doing right now,

  156. He's interceding for us.

  157. He's praying for us.

  158. He's there

  159. representing us

  160. before the Father.

  161. He's there on our behalf.

  162. He is for us.

  163. And then one day,

  164. one day Jesus is going to leave

  165. that position

  166. at the Father's right hand

  167. to return to this world

  168. in what will be

  169. at that time

  170. the greatest demonstration

  171. of power and authority

  172. that the world

  173. has ever seen.

  174. Jesus will come back

  175. to this world

  176. one day.

  177. Now let me ask you,

  178. do you know,

  179. do you have

  180. absolute confidence

  181. that Jesus Christ

  182. was raised

  183. from the dead,

  184. that He is seated

  185. at the right hand

  186. of the Father,

  187. and that all this

  188. was done

  189. by God's mighty power?

  190. Do you know that?

  191. Are you truly

  192. worshiping

  193. and praising

  194. and talking

  195. to your living

  196. Lord

  197. this morning?

  198. This past week,

  199. someone sent me

  200. an article

  201. about Dabo Swinney

  202. where he was making

  203. some comments

  204. about the coronavirus,

  205. but he also talked

  206. about his faith

  207. in Jesus Christ.

  208. He was talking

  209. about this special

  210. time of year

  211. about the resurrection

  212. and about Easter.

  213. He said one thing

  214. that helps us

  215. see something

  216. about the greatness

  217. of God's power.

  218. I want to quote Dabo.

  219. He said,

  220. over 2,000 years ago,

  221. we had a major

  222. world crisis

  223. going on.

  224. God took something

  225. that was evil

  226. and turned it

  227. into eternal good.

  228. He was talking

  229. about the death

  230. of God's Son.

  231. The death

  232. of God's Son,

  233. the Lord Jesus Christ

  234. on the cross

  235. was the worst

  236. act of evil

  237. that's ever

  238. taken place

  239. in the history

  240. of the world.

  241. But what we need

  242. to understand

  243. is that God

  244. had determined

  245. beforehand

  246. to use it

  247. to bring about

  248. the greatest

  249. good

  250. in the history

  251. of the world.

  252. The salvation

  253. of all

  254. who will come

  255. to Him

  256. through faith

  257. in Jesus.

  258. I want to ask you,

  259. do you have

  260. a real relationship

  261. with the risen

  262. and exalted

  263. Lord Jesus Christ?

  264. Think about it.

  265. Do you know Him?

  266. Do you talk to Him?

  267. Do you listen to Him?

  268. Do you love Him?

  269. Do you worship Him?

  270. Is He really

  271. your Lord

  272. and your God?

  273. Do you serve Him?

  274. Do you seek

  275. to please Him?

  276. That's what we do

  277. in a relationship

  278. with Him

  279. if we have one.

  280. If you don't have

  281. that kind of relationship,

  282. I want to encourage you

  283. to come to Him

  284. right now.

  285. There is absolutely

  286. no better time

  287. to come to Christ

  288. in faith

  289. than Easter Sunday.

  290. I want to encourage you.

  291. Turn from your sin.

  292. Repent.

  293. Change your mind.

  294. Put your faith

  295. in Jesus

  296. that when He died

  297. on the cross,

  298. He was paying

  299. the penalty

  300. for your sin.

  301. Surrender your life

  302. to Him.

  303. Honor Him

  304. as your King

  305. and your Lord.

  306. The Scripture

  307. tells us very

  308. clearly,

  309. plainly,

  310. that whoever calls

  311. on the name

  312. of the Lord

  313. will be saved.

  314. And I want to encourage

  315. you to do that

  316. if you've never done so,

  317. if you're not

  318. truly

  319. one with Christ.

  320. It is vitally

  321. important this morning

  322. that we understand

  323. the greatness

  324. of God's power,

  325. but knowledge

  326. is not enough.

  327. We need to

  328. experience it.

  329. Here's the second question,

  330. second major question.

  331. Can you point

  332. to your personal

  333. experience

  334. of the unmatched

  335. greatness

  336. of God's power?

  337. In other words,

  338. how have you

  339. experienced

  340. God's power

  341. in your life?

  342. Do you realize

  343. that the power

  344. of God,

  345. the power

  346. that God

  347. makes available

  348. to us

  349. is the same

  350. power

  351. that He

  352. exerted

  353. when He

  354. brought Jesus

  355. from the grave

  356. and exalted

  357. Him to His

  358. right hand?

  359. Look back

  360. at verses 19

  361. and 20

  362. one more time

  363. and let's look

  364. at it in the

  365. New Living

  366. Translation.

  367. I also

  368. pray

  369. that you

  370. will understand

  371. the incredible

  372. greatness

  373. of God's

  374. power for

  375. us

  376. who believe

  377. Him.

  378. this is the

  379. same mighty

  380. power

  381. that raised

  382. Christ

  383. from the

  384. dead

  385. and seated

  386. Him

  387. in the

  388. place of

  389. honor

  390. at God's

  391. right hand.

  392. I want to

  393. make something

  394. very clear

  395. about God's

  396. power.

  397. God makes

  398. His power

  399. available to

  400. us

  401. to accomplish

  402. His

  403. purpose

  404. not our

  405. own.

  406. God does

  407. not give us

  408. power

  409. to go on

  410. an ego

  411. trip.

  412. God does

  413. not give

  414. us power

  415. for selfish

  416. or worldly

  417. goals.

  418. Most of

  419. you know

  420. that God's

  421. overall goal

  422. His ultimate

  423. goal

  424. is for us

  425. to become

  426. like Jesus.

  427. That's what

  428. He's working

  429. in us

  430. every day

  431. in every

  432. situation

  433. to accomplish

  434. if we're

  435. Christians.

  436. God wants

  437. us as His

  438. children to

  439. grow spiritually

  440. and to

  441. develop

  442. Christ-like

  443. character.

  444. And He

  445. promises

  446. us the

  447. power to

  448. be able to

  449. do that,

  450. to succeed

  451. that.

  452. You know

  453. in the last

  454. three chapters

  455. of Ephesians,

    Ephesians 4 chapter mention

  456. chapters 4,

  457. 5,

  458. and 6,

  459. Paul describes

  460. some of the

  461. ways that

  462. God wants

  463. to exert

  464. His power

  465. in our

  466. lives

  467. and bring

  468. about change

  469. in us.

  470. God does

  471. not save

  472. us with

  473. the intent

  474. of leaving

  475. us as

  476. we are.

  477. When God

  478. saves us,

  479. He puts

  480. His Spirit

  481. in us

  482. and He

  483. works

  484. in us

  485. to change

  486. the way

  487. that we

  488. think,

  489. the way

  490. that we

  491. speak,

  492. the way

  493. that we

  494. live,

  495. the way

  496. that we

  497. interact

  498. with people.

  499. I want

  500. you to

  501. look at

  502. some

  503. examples

  504. in Ephesians

  505. 4 through

  506. 6 of the

  507. kind of

  508. changes God

  509. wants to

  510. work in

  511. us

  512. through His

  513. power.

  514. First,

  515. God will

  516. empower us

  517. to develop

  518. humility,

  519. gentleness,

  520. and patience

  521. according to

  522. chapter 4

  523. verse 2.

  524. God works

  525. in us,

  526. enables us

  527. with the

  528. power,

  529. if we'll

  530. cooperate with

  531. Him,

  532. to develop

  533. humility,

  534. gentleness,

  535. and patience.

  536. God gives

  537. us the

  538. power to

  539. use our

  540. spiritual

  541. gifts and

  542. talents to

  543. be a

  544. blessing to

  545. other people,

  546. to help

  547. other people,

  548. to serve in

  549. and through

  550. our church,

  551. to strengthen

  552. the ministry

  553. of our

  554. church.

  555. Are you

  556. using your

  557. gifts that

  558. way?

  559. Number

  560. three,

  561. God will

  562. give us

  563. the power

  564. we need

  565. to get

  566. rid of

  567. ungodly

  568. behaviors,

  569. things like

  570. sexual

  571. immorality,

  572. greed,

  573. lying,

  574. anger,

  575. rage,

  576. even

  577. alcohol

  578. abuse.

  579. We find

  580. this in

  581. Ephesians

    Ephesians 4:25

  582. chapter 4

  583. verses 25

  584. through

  585. chapter 5

  586. verse 18.

  587. And these

  588. are just

  589. some of

  590. the behaviors,

  591. sinful

  592. behaviors,

  593. that God

  594. will empower

  595. us to

  596. overcome.

  597. Number

  598. four,

  599. God will

  600. empower us

  601. to live

  602. godly

  603. lives in

  604. our homes

  605. and develop

  606. healthy

  607. family

  608. relationships.

  609. There's an

  610. extensive

  611. passage,

  612. Ephesians

    Ephesians 5:22

  613. 5 verse 22

  614. through chapter

  615. 6 verse 9,

  616. where Paul

  617. specifically

  618. addresses

  619. wives,

  620. husbands,

  621. fathers,

  622. parents,

  623. children.

  624. God wants

  625. our homes

  626. to be

  627. healthy.

  628. He wants

  629. the relationships

  630. in our

  631. home to

  632. be loving.

  633. He has

  634. given us

  635. instructions

  636. on what

  637. we need to

  638. do, the

  639. mindset, the

  640. lifestyle we

  641. need to be

  642. involved in

  643. in order to

  644. make this

  645. happen.

  646. It's not

  647. easy.

  648. It's not

  649. easy living

  650. with other

  651. people, is

  652. it?

  653. But God

  654. will give

  655. us the

  656. power over

  657. time to

  658. gradually

  659. grow and

  660. become loving

  661. husbands and

  662. wives and

  663. parents and

  664. children.

  665. Let's look at

  666. one more.

  667. God gives

  668. us the

  669. power to

  670. resist

  671. temptation and

  672. overcome the

  673. evil power and

  674. influence of the

  675. devil in any

  676. demonic force.

  677. That's in

  678. Ephesians chapter

    Ephesians 6 chapter mention

  679. 6,

  680. specifically

  681. verse 12.

  682. I want you

  683. to think.

  684. Everything that

  685. God calls us

  686. to be and

  687. do, he

  688. supplies us

  689. with the

  690. power, the

  691. ability to

  692. do it.

  693. Do you

  694. really and

  695. truly believe

  696. that?

  697. Well, the

  698. answer is

  699. found in the

  700. way you are

  701. using God's

  702. power.

  703. power.

  704. How have

  705. you responded

  706. to God's

  707. offer of

  708. power, to

  709. his indwelling

  710. spirit who

  711. provides that

  712. power?

  713. Have you

  714. responded with

  715. doubt, with

  716. denial, or

  717. maybe with

  718. delight?

  719. Let's think

  720. about it.

  721. Have you

  722. doubted God's

  723. willingness to

  724. work powerfully in

  725. your life?

  726. Have you

  727. doubted it?

  728. Some Christians

  729. do.

  730. Some Christians

  731. really live like

  732. they are

  733. deists.

  734. They're

  735. practical

  736. deists.

  737. They believe

  738. that God

  739. created the

  740. world.

  741. They believe

  742. that God

  743. has saved

  744. them.

  745. I'm talking

  746. about people

  747. who really

  748. and truly do

  749. not expect

  750. God to be

  751. actively involved

  752. in their life

  753. on a daily

  754. basis.

  755. God.

  756. They believe

  757. in God.

  758. They trust

  759. Jesus as

  760. their Lord

  761. and Savior.

  762. But the way

  763. that they

  764. live, the way

  765. that they

  766. think, they

  767. really show

  768. that they do

  769. not expect

  770. God to be

  771. actively involved

  772. in the details

  773. of their life.

  774. Let me ask

  775. you, do you

  776. expect God to

  777. work His

  778. power in

  779. your life

  780. on a regular

  781. basis, on a

  782. daily basis?

  783. Now, some

  784. people deny,

  785. let me ask

  786. you, have

  787. you denied

  788. God's

  789. willingness to

  790. work powerfully

  791. in your life?

  792. Some Christians

  793. do that.

  794. They may not

  795. think about it

  796. in these terms,

  797. but some

  798. Christians, just

  799. as some people

  800. in general in

  801. the world, have

  802. a victim

  803. mentality.

  804. mentality.

  805. They think

  806. that they're

  807. trapped in

  808. some kind of

  809. unhealthy or

  810. even sinful

  811. behavior, and

  812. they can never

  813. change.

  814. Oh, they see

  815. other people

  816. have changed,

  817. but in their

  818. mind, they're

  819. different.

  820. Such things

  821. have happened.

  822. Certain people

  823. have betrayed

  824. them, hurt

  825. them, and they

  826. think they're

  827. beyond hope

  828. when it comes

  829. to change.

  830. When a

  831. Christian thinks

  832. like that, what

  833. they're saying

  834. is they don't

  835. think God can

  836. or will work

  837. in their lives

  838. to change

  839. them.

  840. So I want to

  841. ask you, do

  842. you really

  843. believe, do you

  844. have confidence

  845. in the fact that

  846. God can change

  847. you?

  848. God can

  849. let me ask you

  850. one more

  851. question about

  852. this.

  853. Have you

  854. delighted in

  855. God's willingness

  856. to work powerfully

  857. in your life

  858. by the way that

  859. you cooperate

  860. with Him, by the

  861. way that you

  862. seek to listen to

  863. Him and obey

  864. Him?

  865. You know, that's

  866. what we all

  867. should be doing.

  868. That's what God's

  869. goal is for us,

  870. to trust Him,

  871. that He has the

  872. power to change

  873. us, and then to

  874. obey Him as He

  875. goes about changing

  876. us through

  877. primarily His

  878. Word and His

  879. Spirit.

  880. You know, God

  881. works in His

  882. power in our

  883. lives in all

  884. kinds of ways,

  885. really.

  886. But the

  887. primary ways are

  888. through His

  889. Word and His

  890. Spirit.

  891. You know, God's

  892. Word, the Bible

  893. that you have,

  894. provides us with

  895. everything that we

  896. need in terms of

  897. what we should

  898. believe and how

  899. we should live as

  900. people who are

  901. children of God,

  902. who want to

  903. please God.

  904. So let me ask

  905. you, are you

  906. reading that Word

  907. regularly?

  908. Are you

  909. obeying what

  910. you read

  911. faithfully?

  912. God's Spirit

  913. gives us the

  914. desire and the

  915. ability to obey

  916. God's Word and

  917. to please God in

  918. the process.

  919. We have that

  920. desire.

  921. We have the

  922. responsibility as

  923. Christians, indwelled

  924. by the Spirit of

  925. God, that's our

  926. real power source,

  927. He is our real

  928. power source, we

  929. have the

  930. responsibility to

  931. be sensitive to

  932. His presence,

  933. and then obedient

  934. to His leadership.

  935. And I want you to

  936. think, keep in

  937. mind, the Holy

  938. Spirit will teach

  939. and guide us most

  940. clearly from what

  941. He has already

  942. given us in the

  943. Scriptures that He

  944. inspired men to

  945. write.

  946. And we can always

  947. be sure that He

  948. will never, the

  949. Spirit will never

  950. lead us to do

  951. something that is

  952. contrary to

  953. Scripture.

  954. before World War

  955. II, there was a

  956. small town in

  957. Texas where a

  958. school fire broke

  959. out and took the

  960. lives of 263

  961. children.

  962. Now, as you can

  963. imagine, in a

  964. small town, just

  965. about every family

  966. was touched, broken

  967. broken by that

  968. tragedy.

  969. Well, during the

  970. war, during World

  971. War II, there was

  972. no money, and the

  973. town was not able to

  974. rebuild their school.

  975. But after the war was

  976. over, the town did

  977. rebuild, and they never

  978. forgot the fire.

  979. They were able to build a

  980. new school that

  981. featured what they

  982. called the finest

  983. sprinkler system in the

  984. world because they were

  985. determined a tragedy

  986. like that would never

  987. happen again.

  988. Well, in the post-World War

  989. II era, towns boomed, and

  990. this little town had a lot

  991. of growth to the point

  992. that seven years after the

  993. school was built, they had

  994. to expand the school.

  995. When they began adding a

  996. new wing, they discovered

  997. something that just floored

  998. them, shocked them, they

  999. could not believe.

  1000. Their world-class sprinkler

  1001. system had never been

  1002. connected to the water

  1003. line.

  1004. Can you imagine that?

  1005. A town, a group of people

1006. who were so concerned for

  1007. the welfare of their

  1008. children that they

  1009. overlooked hooking up that

  1010. sprinkler system to the

  1011. water line.

1012. That is a parable of how

  1013. many Christians fail to

1014. hook up to, be sensitive to,

1015. and obedient to the Spirit

1016. of God, their source of

  1017. power who indwells them.

1018. A lot of times we fail to

  1019. utilize God's awesome power

  1020. that He demonstrated by

1021. raising Jesus and seating Him

  1022. at His right hand.

1023. That's the kind of power that

1024. a lot of times we ignore, that

  1025. we waste.

1026. I want you to understand on

1027. this Easter Sunday, God in

  1028. demonstrating His power by

1029. bringing Jesus back from the

1030. grave, exalting Him to His

  1031. right hand.

1032. God wants to use that same

  1033. power in your life.

1034. He wants to use it in a way in

1035. you and through you that will

1036. first of all bring glory to

  1037. Himself.

1038. That will truly be a blessing to

  1039. other people.

1040. And as you glorify God and

1041. bless other people, you're going

  1042. to find that you're experiencing a

1043. lot of joy and satisfaction.

1044. It's going to be just a byproduct

  1045. for you.

1046. I want to encourage you.

  1047. Think about this power.

  1048. It's available to you.

1049. But do you want to experience?

1050. Do you want to experience God's

1051. power in your life to shape and

1052. mold you into the likeness of His

  1053. Son?

1054. If you do, trust Him.

  1055. Obey Him.

1056. And be prepared to experience His

1057. awesome power in your life every

  1058. day.

  1059. Let's pray together.

1060. Father, we are people who are

  1061. powerless on our own.

1062. When it comes to pleasing you and

1063. living the life that you've called

  1064. us to live.

1065. But Lord, we thank you that you have

1066. supplied what we don't have.

  1067. Your great power.

1068. Help us, Father, to desire it.

1069. Help us, Father, to seek it.

1070. And Father, as you speak through your

1071. word and your spirit, help us to pay

  1072. attention.

1073. Help us to listen to you.

1074. Help us to obey you.

1075. Help us to discipline ourselves to

1076. listen and obey day by day,

  1077. situation by situation.

1078. Father, on this Easter Sunday, we are

1079. so thankful for the way you

1080. demonstrated your power in raising

  1081. Jesus from the dead.

1082. Asking Jesus from the dead.

1083. We are so thankful for you.

1084. Making Jesus from the dead.

1085. Exalting Him to your right hand and

1086. promising to send Him back to this

1087. world one day where you will make

  1088. everything right and perfect.

1089. But Lord, help us to not end this day

1090. with just knowledge of your power or

1091. even an appreciation of your power.

1092. Help us, Father, to experience it by living lives that are sensitive to and obedient to your indwelling spirit.

1093. Help us, Father, to truly be consciously aware of your presence and trust you and obey you,

1094. even in the little details of our lives.

1095. Thank you for this promise of power.

1096. Help us, Father, to truly experience it every day.

1097. And it's in Jesus' name we come. Amen.
