  1. Thank you very much, Richard.

  2. Great song that we need to be thankful for,

  3. that our God is faithful.

  4. Don't answer out loud,

  5. but how would you describe life during this pandemic?

  6. Fearful, stressful, frustrating.

  7. What about uncertain?

  8. Over the past two months,

  9. we have certainly been living in uncertain times.

  10. There's been a lot of uncertainty about a variety of things.

  11. What businesses are open?

  12. And if I go, will they have what I need?

  13. Is my job secure?

  14. Some people, they live with that uncertainty week by week.

  15. Some people, how am I going to work my job

  16. and provide childcare for my children?

  17. And most, all of us are wondering,

  18. how long will it be before life turns to some kind of normalcy?

  19. Chuck Swindoll wrote a book,

  20. a devotional book on the Psalms.

  21. He called it Living in the Psalms.

  22. And he gave his chapter on Psalm 23 this title,

  23. The Grind of Uncertainty.

  24. And he begins the chapter with these words,

  25. I have observed that fewer inner battles are more fierce

  26. than the daily grind of uncertainty.

  27. No doubt, you too have encountered one or more of its many faces

  28. as you have struggled with purpose and pain,

  29. job security, financial pressures,

  30. physical handicaps, relational snags,

  31. and a dozen other confusing puzzles

  32. not quickly or easily solved.

  33. It is for the dark hours of uncertainty

  34. that David penned a song we know as Psalm 23.

  35. If we took a poll of what chapter of the Bible

  36. has God used most over the centuries

  37. to bring comfort and hope to Christians,

  38. I believe we would far and away pick the 23rd Psalm.

  39. For the past several weeks,

  40. I've been thinking about and praying about

  41. what passage of Scripture should I focus on,

  42. preach from on our first Sunday back.

  43. This is a special time.

  44. We've been away for nine weeks.

  45. We're here now as God's people,

  46. worshiping Him, studying His Word.

  47. What passage should I preach?

  48. Well, as I thought about that, prayed about that,

  49. I thought about Psalms.

  50. Psalms has something that touches every condition,

  51. every emotion.

  52. I started thinking about the Psalm 100.

  53. It's a psalm about giving thanks,

  54. and we have a lot to be thankful for.

  55. But early this past week,

  56. I think the Lord brought my attention

  57. to the 23rd Psalm.

  58. That's the chapter.

  59. That's the passage that we need to look at.

  60. Now, I can think of several reasons

  61. why this is a good study for us.

  62. First, Psalm 23 is a very familiar passage of Scripture,

  63. and I think it'll help us, do us all good,

  64. to study something that is familiar

  65. during this unfamiliar time we're in right now.

  66. Psalm 23 is also a very comforting

  67. and encouraging passage.

  68. Comfort and encouragement

  69. is something that most of us need a lot of times,

  70. maybe especially now.

  71. And then Psalm 23 is written in a way

  72. to give us assurance on a personal level.

  73. Look at it.

  74. Psalm 23, verse 1.

    Psalms 23:1

  75. The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want.

  76. Look at it.

  77. The Lord is, present tense, my,

  78. talking about something very personal here,

  79. is my shepherd.

  80. And as a result of that,

  81. I have all that I want,

  82. or more specifically, all that I need.

  83. I want us to begin today

  84. and do about a five or six week study

  85. of this familiar psalm

  86. with a prayer that God will use it

  87. to help us have more certainty

  88. in these uncertain times

  89. because of our personal experience

  90. with the Lord

  91. as our, or let's make it personal,

  92. my shepherd.

  93. Now, David wrote Psalm 23

  94. as an older man,

  95. as the king of Israel.

  96. But as he wrote this psalm,

  97. he thought about his boyhood experience

  98. as a shepherd

  99. taking care of his father's sheep.

  100. You can read about that

  101. in the book of 1 Samuel.

  102. It's important that we understand

  103. the perspective from which David wrote.

  104. He didn't write from the perspective

  105. of himself being the shepherd.

  106. Look at it.

  107. He wrote,

  108. the Lord is my shepherd,

  109. which means he wrote

  110. from the perspective of a sheep

  111. being cared for by the shepherd.

  112. So, the first key to understanding

  113. Psalm 23

  114. and profiting from it

  115. as the Lord wants us to

  116. is this.

  117. If we're going to find certainty

  118. for uncertain times

  119. in Psalm 23,

  120. we must learn to see ourselves

  121. as we really are

  122. before God.

  123. We've got to learn to see ourselves

  124. as God sees us.

  125. Now, in the context of Psalm 23,

  126. we are helpless sheep.

  127. And that is not a compliment.

  128. Don't think in terms of

  129. Mary had a little lamb,

  130. its fleece was white as snow

  131. and all that kind of junk.

  132. Sheep

  133. are not something

  134. that anybody wants to be.

  135. If we did a poll this morning

  136. in this room right now,

  137. if you had to be an animal,

  138. what would you be?

  139. Probably some kind of great dog

  140. or a great cat

  141. like a lion, a tiger.

  142. Maybe a bear.

  143. Some people may want to be

  144. a bird because you like to sing

  145. or something like that.

  146. But I don't believe anybody

  147. would say

  148. if it could be any kind of animal,

  149. they would be a sheep.

  150. Haddon Robinson

  151. explains why

  152. being a sheep

  153. is not complimentary.

  154. Look at this.

  155. A sheep is all of the things

  156. that we do not want to be.

  157. It is defenseless,

  158. dependent,

  159. and stupid.

  160. But when David wrote,

  161. the Lord is my shepherd,

  162. I shall not want,

  163. he was saying by implication

  164. that he was a sheep.

  165. He was defenseless,

  166. dependent,

  167. and foolish.

  168. You and I might as well admit it.

  169. Before God,

  170. we too

  171. are sheep.

  172. Yet in the depths

  173. of our proud hearts,

  174. that is a very difficult

  175. admission

  176. to make.

  177. I don't want to be a sheep.

  178. I don't want to think of myself

  179. as dumb

  180. and defenseless

  181. like a sheep is.

  182. But we can't get around it.

  183. In both the Old

  184. and New Testament,

  185. a lot of times,

  186. God's people,

  187. Christians,

  188. are referred to

  189. as sheep.

  190. Here's one

  191. that's probably

  192. most in this room

  193. you know this,

  194. from Isaiah 53.

  195. All we like sheep

  196. have gone astray.

  197. We have turned

  198. everyone

  199. to his own way

  200. as opposed to

  201. God's way.

  202. Jesus described us

  203. as Christians,

  204. his people,

  205. as sheep,

  206. and he,

  207. our good shepherd,

  208. in John 10.

  209. We'll look at that

  210. more

  211. a little bit later

  212. in this series.

  213. The only way

  214. that we will ever

  215. find comfort

  216. in Psalm 23

  217. is to admit

  218. that we

  219. spiritually now,

  220. spiritually,

  221. before God,

  222. we are like sheep.

  223. We are totally

  224. dependent on

  225. our shepherd.

  226. We just can't

  227. make it on our own.

  228. Now,

  229. I know

  230. some people

  231. are thinking,

  232. well,

  233. I'm not dumb.

  234. People aren't

  235. dumb,

  236. and you're right.

  237. This does not

  238. mean,

  239. this idea

  240. of us being

  241. sheep,

  242. does not mean

  243. that we should

  244. think of ourselves

  245. literally

  246. as a dumb,

  247. sheep-like

  248. animal.

  249. As human beings,

  250. we are created

  251. in the image

  252. of God.

  253. And we should

  254. never lose sight

  255. of that.

  256. As human beings,

  257. we are created

  258. in the image

  259. of God.

  260. We are God's

  261. highest,

  262. most special

  263. creation.

  264. We have

  265. many God-given

  266. qualities,

  267. intellectually,

  268. physically,

  269. ability,

  270. a lot of physical

  271. abilities,

  272. socially.

  273. And all that

  274. makes us far

  275. superior to

  276. the best animal,

  277. the most intelligent

  278. animal.

  279. But let's

  280. remember this.

  281. Ever since Adam

  282. and Eve sinned

  283. in the Garden

  284. of Eden,

  285. sin has made

  286. human beings

  287. as spiritually

  288. impoverished

  289. and needy

  290. as sheep.

  291. We really are

  292. before God

  293. spiritually lost,

  294. separated from

  295. God.

  296. That's what sin

  297. did there in the

  298. Garden in the

  299. beginning.

  300. God created Adam

  301. and Eve.

  302. They enjoyed

  303. perfect fellowship

  304. face-to-face

  305. with Him.

  306. But when they

  307. sinned,

  308. what happened?

  309. They hid

  310. from God.

  311. Sin separated

  312. them.

  313. They knew

  314. they were wrong.

  315. Something had

  316. gone wrong.

  317. They couldn't

  318. see,

  319. look at God

  320. as they had

  321. in the past.

  322. Sin messed

  323. up that

  324. relationship.

  325. Think about

  326. this.

  327. On our own,

  328. we are defenseless

  329. against the devil,

  330. against the

  331. forces of evil

  332. in this world

  333. that oppose us,

  334. that tempt us.

  335. And think about

  336. this.

  337. We demonstrate

  338. our spiritual

  339. foolishness by

  340. allowing ourselves

  341. to be shaped

  342. more by the

  343. influence of this

  344. world, this world

  345. that opposes God,

  346. than being shaped

  347. by the truth

  348. of God's Word.

  349. God's Word.

  350. That's why Paul

  351. writes in Romans

  352. 12, don't let

  353. the world squeeze

  354. you into its

  355. mold, because

  356. that's what we

  357. naturally do.

  358. And that shows us

  359. just how foolish

  360. we are.

  361. So, if you look

  362. at Psalm 23,

  363. if you've been a

  364. Christian for any

  365. length of time,

  366. if you grew up in a

  367. home where the

  368. Bible was ever read,

  369. you ever went to

  370. church, you know the

  371. 23rd Psalm, if you

  372. want to really

  373. experience comfort and

  374. hope from it, first,

  375. look at yourself as

  376. God looks at you.

  377. You are a

  378. spiritually lost

  379. sheep.

  380. You are without hope

  381. in terms of having a

  382. right relationship with

  383. God, being able to

  384. live life in a way

  385. that will please Him

  386. and serve His

  387. purpose.

  388. We are sheep who

  389. are in desperate

  390. need of God's

  391. shepherd-like

  392. guidance, protection,

  393. and loving care.

  394. Jesus emphasizes that

  395. loving care part in

  396. John 10 that we'll be

  397. looking at.

  398. Now, once we

  399. understand who we

  400. are in this Psalm,

  401. then we're ready to

  402. start looking at the

  403. main player, the

  404. focus of the Psalm,

  405. the Lord.

  406. Look at this.

  407. If we're going to

  408. find certainty for

  409. uncertain times in

  410. Psalm 23, we must

  411. learn to see God as

  412. He really is.

  413. And David's real

  414. clear.

  415. David begins with

  416. the Lord.

  417. Now, whenever you

  418. see the word Lord in

  419. all capital letters as

  420. it is in this English

  421. translation, it's

  422. translating the Hebrew

  423. word Yahweh.

  424. That's God's most

  425. sacred name.

  426. And it means that God

  427. is self-sufficient and

  428. God is self-existent.

  429. Let's think about that

  430. for a moment.

  431. To say that God is

  432. self-sufficient means He

  433. has absolutely no

  434. needs.

  435. God needs nothing.

  436. God has no need for

  437. more wisdom because He is

  438. all-wise.

  439. God never has to look

  440. around and try to find

  441. more power because He is

  442. all-powerful.

  443. You know that God never

  444. could become more

  445. loving because as

  446. Scripture calls Him, He is

  447. love.

  448. When we think about God

  449. being self-sufficient, that

  450. means that God has all the

  451. resources at His disposal in

  452. who He is, what He

  453. possesses, He has all the

  454. resources He will ever need

  455. to meet our needs.

  456. God is, if you're a Christian,

  457. think about it, is my

  458. shepherd, my protector, my

  459. guider, my comforter.

  460. And then look at this.

  461. To say that God is self-existent

  462. means that He has always

  463. existed as God.

  464. Put it another way, He is

  465. timeless.

  466. He is above time, beyond

  467. time.

  468. Don't dwell on that too

  469. long because that will

  470. blow your mind on it.

  471. To be above time and space

  472. like God is, time is a

  473. creation of God.

  474. Think about it this way.

  475. He never changes.

  476. That's hard to imagine

  477. because everything changes.

  478. You say you don't like

  479. change?

  480. Well, die.

  481. Die or get used to it

  482. because everything changes.

  483. During the, I don't know,

  484. maybe a couple of weeks

  485. ago, Lisa was looking for

  486. something.

  487. She found some old

  488. pictures.

  489. My hair was jet black.

  490. I didn't have to suck in

  491. this, I didn't have a

  492. belly.

  493. Think about what you look

  494. like five years ago.

  495. Think about what you look

  496. like ten years ago.

  497. Think about twenty years

  498. ago.

  499. All you have to do to know

  500. that change is constant is

  501. just look at yourself in the

  502. mirror day by day.

  503. We change.

  504. Our children grow up.

  505. They have children.

  506. Our parents and

  507. grandparents, they die.

  508. They die.

  509. They're no longer a part of

  510. our lives.

  511. Everything about life

  512. changes.

  513. This coronavirus pandemic

  514. has been an unexpected and

  515. harsh reminder of how

  516. quickly things can change.

  517. But change was not

  518. introduced into our country

  519. or culture or homes as a

  520. result of this pandemic.

  521. everything changes but God

  522. is what I'm getting at.

  523. God is the one

  524. constant.

  525. God's character never

  526. changes.

  527. God's promises never

  528. change.

  529. God's power

  530. will remain the same

  531. forever.

  532. God's power

  533. will remain the same

  534. forever.

  535. We can have confidence in

  536. the Lord as our shepherd

  537. because he will always be who

  538. he has revealed himself to be.

  539. He will always do what he has

  540. promised to do.

  541. That's hard to get our heads

  542. around to think about it because

  543. nobody else does.

  544. Nobody else can do that.

  545. It's sad.

  546. Some of you have

  547. experienced this with your

  548. parent or grandparent or

  549. aunt or uncle.

  550. My dad when he died was not

  551. the person he'd always been

  552. because of Alzheimer's.

  553. A lot of us in this room

  554. right now, we can't do what we

  555. used to do the way we used to

  556. do it.

  557. We just don't have that kind of

  558. strength or stamina now.

  559. But God, he will never be

  560. changed by some kind of

  561. disease.

  562. He will never be changed by

  563. what happens in this world.

  564. His power will never be in any

  565. shape, form or fashion

  566. diminished.

  567. This is the Lord that David

  568. says is my shepherd.

  569. Now if you're a Christian, make

  570. that personal.

  571. Say it to yourself or even if

  572. you want to, say it out loud

  573. right now.

  574. The Lord is my shepherd.

  575. This is a statement of fact that

  576. every believer can say, can claim

  577. every moment of every day.

  578. No matter how uncertain things are

  579. where you work or the school

  580. situation.

  581. The Lord is my shepherd now.

  582. And that should make a tremendous

  583. difference in how we face our

  584. uncertainty.

  585. Let's make this even more personal

  586. by looking at what Jesus said in

  587. John chapter 10.

    John 10 chapter mention

  588. Jesus describes his relationship

  589. with all who trust him as the good

  590. shepherd who knows, loves, and cares

  591. for his sheep.

  592. Let me give you an example.

  593. John 10 verses 14 and 15.

    John 10:14

  594. Jesus said, I am the good shepherd.

  595. I know my own and my own know me.

  596. Just as the Father knows me and I know

  597. the Father.

  598. And I lay down my life for the sheep.

  599. That's how much he loves us.

  600. That's how much he gives of himself

  601. for us.

  602. Now I want you to look at this next

  603. one.

  604. Jesus also says that his sheep,

  605. his followers, Christians,

  606. his sheep know his voice

  607. and they follow him.

  608. This is in John 10 verses 27 and 28.

    John 10:27

  609. My sheep hear my voice.

  610. He's talking about through his word

  611. and through his spirit.

  612. My sheep hear my voice and I know

  613. them and they follow me.

  614. Now see, Jesus is describing a fact

  615. about who all real Christians are

  616. and what they do.

  617. We as he is,

  618. we hear his voice.

  619. He knows us

  620. and we follow him.

  621. He says, I give them eternal life

  622. and they will never perish

  623. and no one will snatch them

  624. out of my hand.

  625. We are eternally secure

  626. through faith in Jesus.

  627. We are living in uncertain times.

  628. But wasn't life uncertain

  629. before this pandemic ever

  630. rared its ugly head?

  631. There's uncertainty

  632. in our homes

  633. from time to time.

  634. There's uncertainty

  635. related to jobs.

  636. There's uncertainty

  637. about our health.

  638. Uncertainty is just part of life.

  639. We are spiritually

  640. helpless sheep

  641. who need the good shepherd Jesus

  642. to guide us through

  643. this uncertain world

  644. and the end

  645. to lead us into heaven

  646. where all certainty will end.

  647. Can you say right now,

  648. can you

  649. as an individual,

  650. can you say right now,

  651. the Lord is

  652. my

  653. shepherd?

  654. Are you

  655. one of the Lord's sheep?

  656. You know his voice.

  657. As you read his word,

  658. you hear his voice.

  659. Not literally.

  660. As you read his word,

  661. as you live

  662. as a Christian

  663. with the spirit of God

  664. living in you,

  665. you hear him

  666. leading you,

  667. you experience his

  668. leading you,

  669. prompting you

  670. from within.

  671. Are you one of the Lord's sheep

  672. who hears his voice

  673. and you follow him?

  674. You obey him.

  675. None of us does it perfectly.

  676. None of us does it every day.

  677. No one does it

  678. to the absolute

  679. nth degree.

  680. But if we are

  681. children of God

  682. and dwell by the spirit

  683. of God,

  684. we'll have the desire

  685. and we will put forth

  686. the effort

  687. to hear his voice

  688. and follow him

  689. on a regular basis.

  690. Now what I want us

  691. to understand is

  692. this all applies

  693. to people who believe.

  694. David wrote

  695. the 23rd Psalm

  696. as someone

  697. who knew the Lord

  698. as his shepherd.

  699. He was a believer.

  700. Jesus in John 10

  701. was describing

  702. his relationship

  703. with his followers.

  704. So the question here is

  705. are you as a Christian

  706. are you seeking

  707. to listen to

  708. the voice

  709. of your good shepherd

  710. as he speaks

  711. through his word

  712. and through his spirit

  713. on a regular basis?

  714. And are you listening

  715. to him because

  716. you love him?

  717. You trust him?

  718. You know that his way

  719. is right.

  720. His way is best

  721. even if it's hard.

  722. You know the only way

  723. anybody can live

  724. with confidence

  725. and certainty

  726. in our uncertain times

  727. is to humbly admit

  728. we can't do it

  729. on our own.

  730. We are spiritually

  731. helpless like sheep

  732. and we really are

  733. totally dependent

  734. on our shepherd God,

  735. our shepherd Lord

  736. to give us wisdom.

  737. to guide us

  738. in the right way.

  739. To help us stay

  740. on the right path

  741. in life.

  742. Now if God

  743. has shown you

  744. that your problem

  745. is not that you're

  746. a weak Christian

  747. it's just you're

  748. not a Christian

  749. well you need

  750. to admit that

  751. and thank God

  752. for making that

  753. clear to you.

  754. And the way

  755. you should respond

  756. is to don't argue

  757. but to humble yourself,

  758. admit your need,

  759. turn from your sin,

  760. repent,

  761. change your mind

  762. about how you're

  763. living and put

  764. your trust in Jesus

  765. as your Savior.

  766. Call upon Him

  767. to save you.

  768. I want us to look

  769. at one more thing

  770. quickly that will

  771. also give us

  772. certainty.

  773. Look at this,

  774. number three.

  775. If we're going

  776. to find certainty

  777. for uncertain times

  778. in Psalm 23,

  779. we must learn

  780. to enjoy

  781. and be content

  782. in our relationship

  783. with God.

  784. Now think about

  785. what that's saying.

  786. The Lord is my shepherd

  787. with an emphasis on

  788. I shall not want.

  789. I think Chuck Swindoll

  790. does a good job

  791. of explaining this point.

  792. Look at it.

  793. He says the key thought

  794. is this,

  795. because the Lord

  796. is my shepherd

  797. I shall lack nothing.

  798. Some of you have

  799. a translation that says

  800. the Lord is my shepherd

  801. I shall lack nothing.

  802. Swindoll says

  803. no uncertainty

  804. should frighten me

  805. because the Lord

  806. is my shepherd.

  807. Look at what he says.

  808. I shall not lack

  809. rest or provision.

  810. Why?

  811. He makes me

  812. to lie down

  813. in green pastures.

  814. I shall not lack

  815. peace.

  816. Why?

  817. He leads me

  818. beside quiet waters.

  819. I shall not lack

  820. restoration or encouragement

  821. when I faint,

  822. fail, or fall.

  823. Why?

  824. He restores my soul.

  825. I shall not lack

  826. guidance or fellowship.

  827. Why?

  828. He guides me

  829. in the paths

  830. of righteousness.

  831. I shall not lack

  832. courage when my way

  833. is dark.

  834. Why?

  835. Even though I walk

  836. through the valley

  837. of the shadow of death,

  838. I fear no evil

  839. for you

  840. are with me.

  841. I shall not lack

  842. companionship.

  843. Why?

  844. You are with me.

  845. Can you honestly

  846. say things like that?

  847. Can you honestly

  848. say that you have

  849. come to the point

  850. in your relationship

  851. with the Lord

  852. that you enjoy Him?

  853. You know Him.

  854. You love Him.

  855. You enjoy Him.

  856. And you are content

  857. with the things

  858. He has provided

  859. for you.

  860. Now we're going

  861. to be looking

  862. at the many ways

  863. God provides for us

  864. as we go on

  865. in this series.

  866. But the main

  867. question now is

  868. does your

  869. personal relationship

  870. with the Lord

  871. bring you

  872. joy

  873. and

  874. contentment?

  875. Now

  876. I am not asking

  877. if you're finding

  878. joy and contentment

  879. in the things

  880. that God gives you.

  881. We're talking about

  882. are you finding

  883. joy and contentment

  884. in God

  885. as your Heavenly Father

  886. and in Jesus Christ

  887. as your Savior

  888. and Lord?

  889. Just about

  890. every Sunday

  891. my sons

  892. daughters-in-law

  893. and grandchildren

  894. come to our house

  895. for lunch.

  896. Lisa and I

  897. we get a lot

  898. of joy

  899. and contentment

  900. by just

  901. having them

  902. with us

  903. like that.

  904. It has

  905. nothing to do

  906. with what they do

  907. because they don't

  908. do a doggone thing

  909. but come and eat

  910. our food.

  911. Our joy

  912. comes from

  913. spending time

  914. with them.

  915. We are content

  916. to know them

  917. and love them

  918. and experience

  919. their love

  920. and just

  921. share life

  922. with them.

  923. Well that's

  924. how the Lord

  925. wants us to

  926. enjoy and be

  927. content with

  928. Him.

  929. And when that

  930. does happen

  931. we will be able

  932. to say

  933. like David

  934. because the Lord

  935. is my shepherd

  936. I have all

  937. that I need.

  938. Let's pray

  939. together.

  940. Lord

  941. show us

  942. now

  943. how you

  944. want us

  945. to respond.

  946. Show us

  947. as Christians

  948. Lord

  949. if

  950. people in

  951. this room

  952. say

  953. I do

  954. enjoy my

  955. relationship

  956. with you.

  957. I am

  958. content

  959. in having

  960. you

  961. and what

  962. you provide.

  963. affirm

  964. them

  965. their God.

  966. Just draw

  967. them close

  968. to you

  969. and affirm

  970. that kind

  971. of love

  972. and commitment

  973. and contentment.

  974. But Lord

  975. if that's

  976. not true

  977. for Christians

  978. convict

  979. them

  980. of their

  981. failure

  982. to seek

  983. joy

  984. in you

  985. and be

  986. content

  987. in knowing

  988. you

  989. and having

  990. what you

  991. provide.

  992. help

  993. them

  994. dear God

  995. to confess

  996. their

  997. selfishness

  998. or any

  999. kind of

  1000. specific

  1001. sin

  1002. that's

  1003. keeping

  1004. them

  1005. from

  1006. enjoying

  1007. you.

  1008. Show

  1009. them

  1010. how they

  1011. need to

  1012. change

  1013. some

  1014. things

  1015. in their

  1016. lives.

  1017. And Lord

  1018. if there

  1019. are people

  1020. in this

  1021. room

  1022. who are

  1023. not

  1024. believers

  1025. believers

  1026. don't let

  1027. them

  1028. rest

  1029. easy

  1030. till they

  1031. turn from

  1032. their sin

  1033. and trust

  1034. Jesus.

  1035. In fact

  1036. right now

  1037. God we pray

  1038. that you

  1039. will just

  1040. overwhelm

  1041. them

  1042. with

  1043. brokenness

  1044. over their

  1045. sin

  1046. heartfelt

  1047. repentance

  1048. and cause

  1049. them

  1050. their God

  1051. to call

  1052. upon Jesus

  1053. to save

  1054. them

  1055. to want

  1056. that

  1057. and surrender

  1058. their lives

  1059. to him.

  1060. With every

  1061. head bowed

  1062. and every

  1063. eye closed

  1064. listen to

  1065. the Lord

  1066. and just

  1067. obey him.

  1068. It'll just

  1069. be a time

  1070. of your

  1071. personal

  1072. commitment

  1073. so that

  1074. you can

  1075. leave here

  1076. knowing

  1077. the Lord

  1078. is my

  1079. shepherd.
