  1. Eric, if you have your Bibles, turn to Luke chapter 10.

    Luke 10 chapter mention

  2. Luke chapter 10.

    Luke 10 chapter mention

  3. I want to thank Lawrence Crenshaw for filling in for Brian.

  4. Short notice like that when sickness came upon him.

  5. And he's already learned the power of the methodical pause in the middle of reading Scripture

  6. that only ministers and video tech guys know.

  7. Today I want to deal with a passage that talks about the greatest question that's ever been asked.

  8. It's asked a few times in Scripture.

  9. Once it is asked by Nicodemus who came to Jesus under the cover of darkness to find the answer.

  10. The rich young ruler wanted to know the same thing.

  11. And then we see it again in our passage today.

  12. Although when it's asked today it's not a genuine question.

  13. It's not asked genuinely.

  14. It's like a set up question.

  15. It's like when they asked the preacher who was Cain's wife.

  16. You know.

  17. It's just to test them.

  18. And they wanted to test Jesus.

  19. And they didn't really want to know what he had to say.

  20. They were just kind of needling him.

  21. So this was intended to be a set up question.

  22. However, the way Jesus answered the question not only tested the listener.

  23. It tested all of us.

  24. He didn't set up Jesus.

  25. Jesus kind of set us up to realize what it means to do real Christian ministry.

  26. Church, we do well to listen to Christ.

  27. Church, we do well to listen to Christ.

  28. Even when he challenges us.

  29. Even when he shakes us up.

  30. Especially when he shakes us up.

  31. And this morning's passage does exactly that.

  32. It's found in Luke chapter 10.

    Luke 10 chapter mention

  33. Luke chapter 10 verse 25.

    Luke 10:25

  34. And it says,

  35. Jesus said to him,

  36. Correctly, do this and you will live.

  37. But he, desiring to justify himself, said to Jesus,

  38. And who's my neighbor?

  39. And Jesus replied,

  40. A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho.

  41. And he fell among robbers.

  42. Who stripped him and beat him and departed.

  43. Leaving him half dead.

  44. Now, by chance, a priest was going down that road.

  45. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

  46. So likewise, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him,

  47. passed by on the other side.

  48. But as Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was.

  49. And when he saw him, he had compassion.

  50. He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine.

  51. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him.

  52. And the next day, he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper,

  53. saying, Take care of him.

  54. And whatever more you spend, I'll repay you when I come back.

  55. Which of these three, Jesus asked,

  56. do you think proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?

  57. And the man said, The one who showed him mercy.

  58. And Jesus said, You go and do likewise.

  59. Now, you know that story, probably.

  60. It's a very familiar story.

  61. As a matter of fact, if you were using the curriculum that we were using in Sunday school last week,

  62. you dealt with it last week,

  63. and you think the preacher ain't even done his homework.

  64. He's just doing the Sunday school lesson.

  65. But I will tell you that the listener in the first audience,

  66. the one Jesus was talking to that day,

  67. heard this story with a little bit different light than we hear it.

  68. And it always helps us to understand Scripture in the context that it's in.

  69. That's why it's important to read Scripture around the Scripture that you're looking at.

  70. But also to understand the cultural context of when he speaks this story,

  71. what it meant to them.

  72. It helps us through that filter to understand how it speaks to us even more.

  73. And so when the listener in the first audience heard this,

  74. they came up with some conclusions right off the bat.

  75. One of them was the victim deserved it.

  76. He deserved it.

  77. I mean, don't get me wrong.

  78. It's not right to attack and rob a man,

  79. but I mean, what was he doing there?

  80. Nobody with good sense travels the road to Jericho alone.

  81. The road has a dark reputation.

  82. Josephus, a historian of that day, called it the bloody way.

  83. And if you go down from Jerusalem to Jericho,

  84. you really go down.

  85. It is a 17-mile journey that drops rapidly from 2,800 feet above sea level

  86. to 1,300 feet below sea level, almost a mile in depth.

  87. It is a mountainous trek of rough terrain with 300-foot drops,

  88. limestone caves, massive boulders,

  89. all kinds of places for bandits to hide.

  90. And they did.

  91. And that's why it was called the bloody way.

  92. In other words, it was a known danger.

  93. Now, I didn't do this last week.

  94. Last week, I went to Mississippi and, praise God,

  95. got a contract on a house, on my house.

  96. Amen.

  97. Amen.

  98. Pray that it goes through and she gets a burden

  99. and gives a little more than she committed to.

  100. But what if I told you instead that I took my family,

  101. after we watched some crime sitcom on TV,

  102. that I decided to take them to a notoriously dangerous place

  103. in a downtown major city in Atlanta,

  104. excuse me, in America.

  105. I drove to Atlanta yesterday.

  106. Good example.

  107. But anyway, a major city in America to see the real crime scenes,

  108. just like we watch on TV.

  109. And when we went down in that dark alley at night,

  110. I got hit in the head and robbed,

  111. and I barely made it out alive.

  112. Now, I know you.

  113. You are a gracious people.

  114. You're kind.

  115. You've been gracious to us as we've come into a new congregation.

  116. I'm telling you, Ralph Carter told me they're appreciative people,

  117. and he's right.

  118. And I appreciate that.

  119. You'd be nice to me.

  120. But when you went home,

  121. you'd have me for dinner.

  122. The preacher has lost his mind.

  123. He deserved it.

  124. And his precious wife and his precious,

  125. how in the world could he?

  126. The old boy deserved it.

  127. We ought to knock another knot upside his head.

  128. Because remember, we help those who help themselves.

  129. I mean, if you don't have any better sense than that,

  130. then just leave him by the side of the road.

  131. That's what the first century audience would have said.

  132. Tell you another thing the first century audience would have said.

  133. They would have said the clergy did exactly what they were expected to do.

  134. Now, I know we look at them and go,

  135. sorry, old preachers.

  136. But the reality is they did exactly what was expected.

  137. Numbers 1911 and Leviticus 21.1,

  138. tells us that if something is dead and is touched,

  139. you are made ceremonially unclean.

  140. And Jericho was a town of 12,000 priests.

  141. And they were on their way to perform religious ceremonies.

  142. They better not stop and get their hands dirty in the matter.

  143. And these men didn't.

  144. They made a point to go around him on the opposite side of the road

  145. because in case he died,

  146. and they got sidetracked,

  147. they were like, don't look, just keep walking.

  148. Because if they came in contact with dead,

  149. it would not allow them to be a part of that process.

  150. The ceremonies that they were going to.

  151. Now, they knew the law,

  152. and there's a lot of other passages that tell them to help,

  153. but that's not the ones that they chose at the time.

  154. Sometimes we have a tendency to pick the ones we want to pick too.

  155. Therefore, they did exactly what was expected,

  156. and the first audience would have expected them to do just what they did.

  157. I'll tell you what else they would have expected.

  158. When they thought of this story,

  159. the first century audience would have said

  160. the Samaritan was not supposed to help anybody.

  161. This guy needed help bad.

  162. He didn't only get robbed.

  163. He got beat.

  164. He got stripped.

  165. He got left for dead.

  166. Don't expect a Samaritan to help

  167. because Jews hated Samaritans.

  168. They called them mixed dogs,

  169. and I'll tell you why they called them that.

  170. Because Samaria is the capital of the northern kingdom of Israel,

  171. and when the Assyrians conquered the northern kingdom,

  172. they exiled 27,000,

  173. and they only left a remnant behind.

  174. Assyrian captives from other places also settled there,

  175. and for those that remained,

  176. they intermarried with the Assyrians that came into that area.

  177. So Jews with Gentiles,

  178. and then they adopted into a lot of the foreign gods

  179. that came into that melting pot of an atmosphere.

  180. And by the time the Jews returned to Jerusalem,

  181. they had a hatred toward the Samaritans.

  182. All of them, not just the guilty ones,

  183. because they all compromised, the whole people.

  184. No longer were they pure.

  185. They were mixed.

  186. They had mixed with the world.

  187. Listen, racism is not a new thing,

  188. and it was very real there.

  189. Therefore, when Jesus used a Samaritan

  190. to do the right thing in the story,

  191. he hit a nerve.

  192. It was a shocker.

  193. Samaritans don't do good things.

  194. It'd be like making a Jew a hero

  195. to an audience of Nazis,

  196. or making a member of the Taliban a hero.

  197. We just don't want to hear that kind of thing.

  198. It's unheard of.

  199. It's controversial even to suggest it.

  200. And John's Gospel tells us

  201. that the Jewish leaders thought

  202. that Jesus was a Samaritan

  203. with a demon after hearing this story.

  204. What in the world's going on?

  205. And that's why this story challenged everything.

  206. It crossed social barriers.

  207. It was uncomfortable.

  208. It was challenging.

  209. And the truth is,

  210. when you get to the heart of it,

  211. it still is.

  212. But Jesus taught it that day for a reason,

  213. and through the power and the inspiration

  214. of the Holy Spirit of God,

  215. it applies to us as well today

  216. to teach us.

  217. And it teaches us a few things.

  218. One of them is that real ministry is not easy.

  219. Real ministry is not easy.

  220. This lawyer is really just trying to goad Jesus.

  221. He asked him a hard question

  222. and provoke him

  223. and get him to say the wrong thing.

  224. Religious folks often do that kind of thing to Jesus.

  225. And it didn't work.

  226. Jesus saw it coming.

  227. He didn't get mad about it.

  228. He didn't get in a debate about it.

  229. No, as my grandpa said,

  230. he killed him with kindness.

  231. He surprised him with his answer.

  232. The lawyer wanted a formula for religion.

  233. Tell me what I have to do.

  234. Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

  235. That's not Christianity, folks.

  236. You can't do anything to earn your salvation.

  237. Eternal life cannot be earned.

  238. Christianity is surrendering your have-tos to God.

  239. In other words,

  240. you don't have to attend church to be saved.

  241. But you will if it's real.

  242. There will be a drawing there if it's real.

  243. You don't have to reach out to others if you're saved.

  244. But if Christ has touched your life,

  245. you're going to want to tell others about it.

  246. You don't have to tithe your money to the church

  247. and be a Christian.

  248. But if you are a Christian

  249. and you realize how much God has done for you,

  250. you realize everything that you have

  251. has been entrusted to you

  252. and it's not yours anyway, it's God's.

  253. So why not give him back the portion

  254. that he tells us to?

  255. You don't have to pray

  256. to be a Christian.

  257. But the reality is,

  258. if you are a Christian, you will pray.

  259. You don't have to care about others

  260. to be a Christian.

  261. But if you are a Christian,

  262. you will care about others.

  263. The reality is,

  264. real ministry is not just loving

  265. those who are our own.

  266. It's not just loving folks that are like me.

  267. It's not just loving those

  268. that we think deserve it.

  269. Real ministry is when you sweat,

  270. when it stings,

  271. when you sacrifice,

  272. when it's tough.

  273. Not only did the Samaritan

  274. reach out to this guy,

  275. but he reached out to one

  276. that should have known better.

  277. He reached out to one

  278. who was,

  279. he reached out to one

  280. and took a risk

  281. when he reached out to him.

  282. I mean,

  283. this could have been a trap

  284. to bait somebody.

  285. There could have been fentanyl

  286. on that dollar bill.

  287. I mean, you know,

  288. I was going to touch it, you know.

  289. Leave him alone.

  290. By the way,

  291. me and Mama found a 20

  292. at Dollar General the other day.

  293. We took our chances,

  294. but anyway.

  295. Anyway.

  296. Those are the things

  297. that we would say today,

  298. and it ain't even affected,

  299. you know.

  300. But that's no different

  301. than that day

  302. is what I'm saying.

  303. Remember,

  304. this is the bloody way.

  305. Notice as well,

  306. it was not just spot ministry.

  307. He didn't buy the meal

  308. of the guy behind him

  309. in the drive-thru.

  310. It was ongoing.

  311. He spotted a beaten stranger

  312. even after he was gone,

  313. and he supported him

  314. and took care of him.

  315. Not endless support.

  316. Don't misunderstand me.

  317. Not endless support,

  318. but he helped him get up

  319. and get back on his feet,

  320. and you know what?

  321. I bet that was a pattern

  322. for the Samaritan,

  323. and the reason why

  324. is because the innkeeper

  325. trusted him.

  326. And when folks

  327. are coming back

  328. to pay cash,

  329. you don't trust them

  330. unless they've come back before.

  331. It wasn't spot ministry.

  332. It was ongoing ministry.

  333. Spot ministry.

  334. Let's be plain.

  335. Spot ministry is easy.

  336. Real ministry is not easy.

  337. It also teaches us this,

  338. that real Christianity

  339. is fruitful.

  340. Real Christianity is fruitful.

  341. We like to talk about

  342. the gifts of the Spirit

  343. and what we're gifted at

  344. and those unique gifts

  345. and abilities that God

  346. has given us

  347. to enable us

  348. to do the work of the church,

  349. the gift of evangelism,

  350. the gift of proclaiming,

  351. the gift of teaching,

  352. the gift of faith,

  353. the gift of discernment,

  354. the gift of showing mercy,

  355. the gift of leadership.

  356. Man, if you give folks

  357. the opportunity

  358. to take a spiritual gifts test,

  359. which basically asks them

  360. what they think they're good at,

  361. they'll fill it up.

  362. You know,

  363. they're multi-gifted.

  364. Just ask them.

  365. I mean,

  366. we like to know

  367. about that kind of stuff.

  368. What's our gifts?

  369. But what about the fruit?

  370. I mean,

  371. the fruit's what really matters.

  372. If you have the gifts

  373. but no fruit,

  374. you're unfit for the kingdom.

  375. And what am I talking about?

  376. When I say fruit,

  377. it's Galatians 5, 22 and 23.

  378. When the apostle Paul said,

  379. the fruit of the spirit

  380. is love, joy, peace, patience,

  381. kindness, goodness,

  382. faithfulness, gentleness,

  383. self-control.

  384. You want to know

  385. what the Christian life's about?

  386. The fruit's where it's at, folks.

  387. If you want to live out your faith

  388. for the Lord Jesus Christ,

  389. the fruit's where it's at.

  390. And I promise you

  391. that if you pray over those matters

  392. in your life every day,

  393. the Holy Spirit of God

  394. will not only beat you up

  395. but he'll show you

  396. how to improve in those areas.

  397. Because that's where the growth is.

  398. Without fruit,

  399. you're not effective

  400. no matter what gifts you have.

  401. And if you have fruit without gifts,

  402. well, you don't.

  403. But even if you could,

  404. you'd still change lives

  405. because that kind of stuff

  406. gets people's attention.

  407. It matters.

  408. Jesus teaches us

  409. it's not about what you got.

  410. It's about what you do with it.

  411. And so be fruitful.

  412. He also teaches us this.

  413. Real Christians don't make excuses.

  414. Real Christians don't make excuses.

  415. The Samaritan didn't say,

  416. oh, no, I'm just a Samaritan.

  417. What are people going to think?

  418. I'm not even qualified to do that.

  419. He didn't say,

  420. he didn't say I didn't do it

  421. because I didn't know what to say.

  422. How many times are Christians

  423. sidetracked from doing

  424. what God's burdened them to do?

  425. Because they don't know what to say.

  426. By the way,

  427. if you don't know what to say,

  428. don't say it.

  429. Just be there.

  430. People who try to defend

  431. the role of God

  432. in the midst of tragedy

  433. usually cause tragedy to be worse.

  434. And your presence means

  435. more than your words.

  436. And if I walk in a heavy room

  437. and stand on the wall

  438. and say nothing,

  439. it's because I don't know

  440. what to say.

  441. And if you don't know

  442. what to say,

  443. please don't say it.

  444. This Samaritan could have easily said,

  445. I don't have time for this.

  446. He also did not look

  447. at the situation logically.

  448. Like the lawyer

  449. that asked the question

  450. would have expected

  451. somebody to look at something

  452. because that's what they look at

  453. is logic.

  454. And logic does not always work.

  455. Let me tell you about this,

  456. oh boy.

  457. I heard of a man

  458. who decided to get married

  459. based on logic

  460. and scientific principles.

  461. He was 30 years old,

  462. logical age to consider

  463. getting married.

  464. And so he made a list of,

  465. in black ink, by the way,

  466. of,

  467. on quality paper,

  468. good paper,

  469. because he's logical

  470. and it's important.

  471. And he made two columns.

  472. One column

  473. was why he should get married.

  474. The other column

  475. was why he shouldn't get married.

  476. And when he wrote down

  477. those things,

  478. marriage outweighed

  479. not getting married.

  480. And so he got out

  481. another piece

  482. of good quality paper

  483. with his black ink

  484. and wrote down

  485. eligible,

  486. good quality

  487. young ladies.

  488. And he got out

  489. index cards

  490. and he put their names

  491. on them

  492. and he listed reasons

  493. why he ought to marry

  494. each one.

  495. And he soon found one

  496. that

  497. he thought logically

  498. should be his wife.

  499. And he asked her

  500. to marry him

  501. and she said,

  502. yes.

  503. And the marriage

  504. was a disaster

  505. because love

  506. don't wait on logic

  507. and logic

  508. does not lead

  509. to love.

  510. When the woman

  511. anointed the feet

  512. of Jesus,

  513. as I mentioned

  514. last week,

  515. it was not logical.

  516. It was love.

  517. The Samaritan

  518. did not act

  519. logically.

  520. He acted

  521. lovingly.

  522. He acted

  523. when he had

  524. the opportunity

  525. to walk

  526. by the victim.

  527. He would have

  528. missed that opportunity.

  529. The priest

  530. and the Levite

  531. asked,

  532. they responded

  533. logically.

  534. I mean,

  535. a dead body

  536. would have

  537. sidelined them

  538. for a week.

  539. The very thing

  540. that they were

  541. going to do,

  542. they would not

  543. be able to do

  544. if this fellow

  545. didn't make it.

  546. And it's much easier

  547. to say,

  548. I don't have time

  549. for this.

  550. Because the reality

  551. is,

  552. we only have time

  553. for the things

  554. that are important

  555. to us.

  556. So the question

  557. is,

  558. what's important

  559. to us?

  560. we've pledged

  561. our life

  562. to Christ.

  563. We've pledged

  564. our life

  565. to serve him.

  566. If today

  567. you're a

  568. professed

  569. Christian,

  570. so

  571. what's important

  572. to us?

  573. And you may

  574. say,

  575. well,

  576. to do

  577. such as this

  578. would be

  579. fanatical.

  580. To put

  581. yourself out

  582. like this?

  583. Now look,

  584. preacher,

  585. I mean,

  586. you know,

  587. I love the Lord

  588. and the church

  589. and all that,

  590. but I'm not

  591. going to get

  592. fanatical about

  593. this thing.

  594. So let me get

  595. this straight.

  596. Christ left

  597. the glories

  598. of heaven

  599. to be born

  600. on earth

  601. in a cattle

  602. stall.

  603. To face

  604. every temptation

  605. that we would

  606. ever face,

  607. what scripture

  608. says,

  609. and to endure

  610. all of it

  611. sinlessly,

  612. only to be

  613. opposed by

  614. the church

  615. of that day

  616. and endure

  617. the worst

  618. torture

  619. and the worst

  620. execution

  621. known to man

  622. studied by

  623. the Roman

  624. Empire to know

  625. exactly the best

  626. way to torture

  627. a man before

  628. you kill him.

  629. so that you

  630. and I

  631. who fall

  632. to too many

  633. temptations

  634. will have

  635. the opportunity

  636. to have

  637. our many sins

  638. forgiven

  639. and go to

  640. heaven when

  641. we die,

  642. but he

  643. didn't mean

  644. for us

  645. to get

  646. fanatical

  647. about our

  648. faith,

  649. yet we're

  650. to follow

  651. his example.

  652. Let the church

  653. sit on their

  654. tough,

  655. proclaim their

  656. way is right,

  657. and dare the

  658. world to join

  659. them.

  660. Or let's

  661. get outside

  662. the walls

  663. and make a

  664. difference for

  665. Christ.

  666. Because Jesus

  667. said,

  668. this is what

  669. it means to

  670. have eternal

  671. life.

  672. So how do we

  673. do that?

  674. We follow

  675. the example

  676. of who,

  677. of what?

  678. a Samaritan.

  679. I heard

  680. about a

  681. PGA golfer,

  682. don't know

  683. who it is,

  684. that won

  685. $48,000

  686. one weekend,

  687. rough weekend

  688. in PGA.

  689. He won

  690. $48,000,

  691. and when he

  692. had the check

  693. in his hand,

  694. a lady came

  695. to him

  696. with a baby

  697. in her hands

  698. and said,

  699. my baby

  700. is deathly

  701. ill and

  702. needs surgery,

  703. and it is

  704. $25,000,

  705. and I don't

  706. have the money.

  707. And the man

  708. took the check,

  709. endorsed the

  710. back of it,

  711. and handed

  712. it to her.

  713. The next

  714. day,

  715. he got a

  716. call.

  717. from an

  718. official

  719. with PGA

  720. and said,

  721. you've been

  722. fleeced.

  723. He said,

  724. what,

  725. is the baby

  726. all right?

  727. He said,

  728. yeah,

  729. the baby's

  730. all right.

  731. He said,

  732. the woman

  733. was messing

  734. with you.

  735. She took

  736. your money.

  737. You've been

  738. fleeced.

  739. He said,

  740. is the baby

  741. all right?

  742. He said,

  743. yeah,

  744. the baby's

  745. fine.

  746. He said,

  747. good.

  748. That's

  749. all that

  750. matters.

  751. With every

  752. head bowed,

  753. and every

  754. eye closed,

  755. I think

  756. God leads

  757. us to do

  758. what really

  759. matters.

  760. And I'll

  761. tell you what

  762. really matters

  763. is if you

  764. are here

  765. this morning

  766. and there's

  767. never been a

  768. time in your

  769. life when you've

  770. given your heart

  771. and life to the

  772. Lord Jesus

  773. Christ,

  774. I am thankful

  775. today that

  776. today is the

  777. day of salvation.

  778. That Jesus is

  779. the same yesterday,

  780. today,

  781. and forever,

  782. and the offer

  783. that he makes

  784. to those that he

  785. comes in contact

  786. with in the first

  787. century is the

  788. same offer that

  789. he makes to you

  790. today.

  791. That if you'll

  792. come and say,

  793. Lord,

  794. I come as I am.

  795. I know I'm a

  796. sinner.

  797. I know I've done

  798. wrong,

  799. and I ask you to

  800. forgive me,

  801. to cleanse me,

  802. to come into my

  803. life,

  804. and to change

  805. me,

  806. and from this

  807. day forward,

  808. I commit my

  809. life to follow

  810. you.

  811. If you've never

  812. done that,

  813. or you're willing

  814. to surrender your

  815. life to the Lord

  816. Jesus like that,

  817. we're going to

  818. stand in just a

  819. moment,

  820. and we're going

  821. to sing,

  822. and we're doing

  823. it for you,

  824. to give you the

  825. opportunity to come.

  826. If you come,

  827. I'll make sure

  828. someone talks to

  829. you about what it

  830. means to give your

  831. heart and life to

  832. the Lord Jesus

  833. Christ.

  834. Maybe you're here,

  835. and you have done

  836. that, but as you

  837. watch those people

  838. go through baptism

  839. waters today, you

  840. realize that you've

  841. never publicly

  842. professed that

  843. private faith in a

  844. way that is in

  845. obedience to the

  846. Lord, and as I tell

  847. many baptism

  848. candidates, the

  849. reality is that is a

  850. hindrance and a

  851. hurdle in your

  852. Christian walk.

  853. Until you obey God

  854. in that first step of

  855. obedience that not

  856. only Christ showed us

  857. by example, but also

  858. impelled us to do,

  859. unless we do that,

  860. there's a hindrance

  861. there.

  862. So maybe you want

  863. to come this morning

  864. and say, preacher, I

  865. have given my heart

  866. and life to the

  867. Lord Jesus Christ, but

  868. I've never been

  869. baptized as a believer,

  870. and today I want to

  871. come just the way

  872. Christ showed us to

  873. come.

  874. Maybe God's drawing

  875. you to be a part of

  876. this congregation.

  877. God's blessed us in

  878. recent days with many

  879. who have felt led to

  880. come and join us

  881. along this journey.

  882. We're not perfect,

  883. nor are you, and so

  884. man, we get along

  885. great.

  886. So you come as God

  887. leads, and we'll

  888. happily guide you

  889. through that.

  890. You have questions

  891. about that and wonder

  892. about that, my phone

  893. number, I'm easy to

  894. contact.

  895. It's all over the

  896. bulletin.

  897. You let me know.

  898. I'd love to talk to

  899. you about that.

  900. And then I sit among

  901. a lot of priests,

  902. Levites, good old

  903. church folk.

  904. We believe the right

  905. thing.

  906. We're sitting in the

  907. right place today.

  908. Seemingly doing the

  909. right thing.

  910. God says, are we

  911. doing what really

  912. matters?

  913. Are we staking out

  914. our life to follow

  915. his will and his way

  916. in our heart and

  917. life?

  918. I don't know how

  919. God's leading you.

  920. I don't pretend to

  921. know that, but I know

  922. that you'll never be

  923. satisfied until you

  924. follow him.

  925. And so you come as

  926. God leads you.

  927. Maybe you'll make a

  928. decision for the Lord

  929. where you are.

  930. Maybe you'll make a

  931. decision for the Lord

  932. privately at this altar

  933. praying.

  934. Maybe you want

  935. somebody to pray with

  936. you.

  937. I'm here.

  938. Just obey God.

  939. Let's not hinder the

  940. Holy Spirit by not

  941. doing what he tells

  942. us.

  943. Lord Jesus, I love

  944. you.

  945. Thank you for the

  946. privilege and opportunity

  947. you give us today.

  948. Lead us right now, oh

  949. God, I pray in Jesus'

  950. precious name.

  951. Amen.

  952. Amen.

  953. Amen.

  954. Amen.

  955. Amen.

  956. Amen.

  957. Amen.

  958. Amen.

  959. Amen.

  960. Amen.

  961. Amen.

  962. Amen.

  963. Amen.

  964. Amen.

  965. Amen.
