  1. I want to turn to John 15.

  2. John 15.

  3. Last week we began our journey to the empty tomb

  4. by being encouraged to pray about inviting others to come and see

  5. because Christ has a lot to offer.

  6. And if you have Christ in your life,

  7. you lose nothing by sharing him with others.

  8. Actually, it is our gain to do that

  9. because we're blessed by it.

  10. We become stronger in our faith by it.

  11. And so we ought to be busy about it.

  12. All of the gospels build up to the last week of Christ.

  13. And that week starts with a triumphal entry into Jerusalem.

  14. Jesus rides in on a donkey.

  15. The reason he does that is to fulfill prophecy.

  16. Zechariah 9 verse 9 says,

    Zechariah 9:9

  17. Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion.

  18. Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem.

  19. Behold, your king is coming to you.

  20. Righteous and having salvation is he,

  21. humble and mounted on donkey.

  22. On a colt, the fall of a donkey.

  23. His way was paved by laying down garments.

  24. That speaks of royalty.

  25. That's what you did for kings.

  26. It was also marked by people laying down palm branches,

  27. which speak of peace.

  28. What it paints the picture of is a humble king coming in peace

  29. and claiming his place.

  30. As he came, they cried out, Hosanna, which means save us,

  31. which is the proclamation of the Messiah.

  32. They said, Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

  33. That was originally spoken about those who were approaching the temple for worship.

  34. Here it is to announce the Christ as Messiah,

  35. the one that actually fulfills everything that the temple amounted to.

  36. Shortly after he entered,

  37. he makes his way to the upper room

  38. to share a last supper with the disciples

  39. before he would go to the garden and be arrested.

  40. He washed their feet there.

  41. Peter was in the room.

  42. Peter didn't feel comfortable with him washing his feet.

  43. He knew that was the lowest of the servants to do that.

  44. He didn't feel comfortable with that.

  45. And so Peter,

  46. he's that dude that always thinks and says it,

  47. you know,

  48. or says it before he thinks it

  49. or something like that, you know.

  50. If you've got a big mouth,

  51. you sympathize with Peter, okay?

  52. And so he says,

  53. Look, you're not lowering yourself to wash my feet.

  54. I'd never let you do that.

  55. Jesus responds and says,

  56. If I don't wash you,

  57. you have nothing to do with me.

  58. And Peter says,

  59. Well, then wash all of me, you know.

  60. I mean, he really didn't get it.

  61. He really didn't.

  62. And Jesus said,

  63. I've washed your feet.

  64. Now wash others.

  65. In other words,

  66. what he was telling us is,

  67. I've served you at the lowest level.

  68. Because the foot washer

  69. was the lowest servant in the house

  70. washing the dirt and the grime

  71. off of the feet

  72. as a greeting to folks.

  73. Almost like taking your coat.

  74. Instead, they'd wash your feet.

  75. And it's Christ's way of saying,

  76. Do whatever you need to do

  77. to serve other people.

  78. He begins the meal like that.

  79. During the meal,

  80. he confronts Judas,

  81. the traitor in the bunch.

  82. And Judas goes on to make a decision

  83. that will ruin him quickly.

  84. Peter speaks up again and says,

  85. I'll never deny you.

  86. And Jesus says,

  87. Sit down.

  88. You'll deny me three times

  89. before the sun comes up, basically.

  90. That's when the rooster crows, by the way.

  91. He continues to speak to the disciples

  92. in the longest teaching and training time

  93. that we have anywhere in Scripture of Jesus.

  94. There are 156 verses of his teaching

  95. dedicated to the upper room.

  96. And everything that he said

  97. and everything that he prayed,

  98. the Sermon on the Mount

  99. is only 110 verses.

  100. That's significant.

  101. The timing of the event is significant.

  102. It's the last thing he says to them

  103. before he goes to the garden to be arrested.

  104. The teaching that he gives them

  105. is primarily for them

  106. after he would no longer be physically present with them.

  107. We are a people that live today

  108. in Christ

  109. when he's not physically present with us.

  110. So it's a word for us.

  111. And then the training that he gives them is amazing.

  112. He begins by talking about

  113. how he is the way, the truth, and the life.

  114. And he gives us an assurance

  115. for salvation in the here and the now.

  116. And he gives us assurances

  117. that he'll always be there for us.

  118. That there's more to eternal life

  119. in Christ

  120. than what this world has to offer.

  121. This ain't all there is, folks.

  122. And he's very clear about that

  123. in the upper room.

  124. And when he has died and been buried

  125. and rose again and ascended,

  126. he assures us that we will not be left alone.

  127. We will not be comfortless.

  128. The Holy Spirit will come.

  129. The Holy Spirit will empower us.

  130. He'll guide us.

  131. And he'll use us.

  132. And then he closes his time

  133. in the upper room in John 17.

  134. It's often called the high priestly prayer

  135. because Jesus closes out his time

  136. in the upper room

  137. praying for his disciples.

  138. As he progresses through the prayer,

  139. he prays for those

  140. that the disciples will reach.

  141. As he continues to progress,

  142. he prays for those

  143. that will be reached

  144. by those that are reached

  145. by the disciples.

  146. Do you know who that is?

  147. That's us.

  148. He's praying for us.

  149. And do you know what he prays for us?

  150. He prays for us to be unified

  151. for his cause

  152. so that all the world can see him

  153. for who he is.

  154. Now you're going to be glad to hear

  155. what I'm about to say

  156. because I will tell you

  157. that John chapter 13 through 17

    John 13 chapter mention

  158. is too much teaching for one time.

  159. Okay?

  160. I could literally spend

  161. a year of Sundays

  162. teaching John 13 through 17

  163. and I'm not going to do,

  164. I'm not going to try to squeeze

  165. five chapters out of you this morning.

  166. To attempt to scan that this morning hastily

  167. I believe would be unjust

  168. and I will not do it.

  169. I just want us to,

  170. I encourage you to read it this week,

  171. but I just want us to dip our toe

  172. in a key portion of this passage

  173. that reminds us of how we are to do

  174. what we are to do for the Lord.

  175. I just want to take a few moments,

  176. you're going to love this,

  177. to look at one verse.

  178. One key verse.

  179. It was key for them that day.

  180. It is key for us today.

  181. He goes on to define what this verse means

  182. and the Apostle Paul spends a lot of time

  183. defining what it means.

  184. It's John chapter 15 verse 5.

    John 15:5

  185. And Jesus said,

  186. I am the vine,

  187. you are the branches,

  188. whoever abides in me and I in him,

  189. he it is that bears much fruit

  190. for apart from me,

  191. you can do nothing.

  192. We are to bear fruit.

  193. How do you bear fruit

  194. when you abide in Christ?

  195. Well, Scripture shows us that

  196. and it's a lot more broad in scope

  197. than you probably thought

  198. because when we are saved,

  199. when we surrender our lives to the Lord Jesus,

  200. we are indwelled with the Holy Spirit.

  201. And when our lives are hooked into the vine,

  202. getting a full run of the sap from the Lord,

  203. our lives produce fruit.

  204. Just like a healthy branch of a fruit tree

  205. produces fruit.

  206. So what kind of fruit are we to produce?

  207. Our fruit ought to be characterized by character.

  208. We ought to produce a fruit of character.

  209. There are obvious traits in the lives of folks

  210. that are right with the Lord.

  211. Paul put it this way.

  212. In Galatians chapter 5 verse 22 and 23,

    Galatians 5:22

  213. he says this,

  214. But the fruit of the Spirit is love,

  215. joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,

  216. faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.

  217. Against such things, there is no law.

  218. Now I will tell you that the fruit of the Spirit

  219. is not for you to pick and choose what fruit that you want.

  220. Instead, we're responsible for all of them

  221. to live it out.

  222. And listen, he's not talking about being fake here either.

  223. As disappointing as it would be

  224. if you saw a big, beautiful basket of fruit

  225. and said,

  226. Man, I want one of those apples right off the top

  227. and went and grabbed that

  228. and it was one of those plastic things, you know,

  229. that looked so good,

  230. but in reality it's not.

  231. Sometimes Christians can be just as fake as that.

  232. They can be just as bad as that.

  233. Real love is not smiling

  234. or even telling people that you love them.

  235. Real love, 1 Corinthians 13, 7 says,

  236. always protects, always trusts,

  237. always hopes, and always perseveres.

  238. Now, I will tell you to be clear,

  239. because I don't want you to misunderstand me,

  240. when you love somebody,

  241. you ought to tell them.

  242. Men, I'm particularly speaking to you this morning

  243. because it's not manly sometimes to,

  244. we think it's not manly to tell somebody

  245. that you love them,

  246. but the reality is it's not manly to not tell them.

  247. Those that God has entrusted to you,

  248. that you love them.

  249. Reva McIntyre sang a song years ago

  250. called The Greatest Man I Never Knew,

  251. and one of those lines says,

  252. he never said he loved me,

  253. guess he thought I knew,

  254. and she's talking about her daddy.

  255. Your family, your loved ones need to know it

  256. by how you live it and how you tell them.

  257. And if you're dropping off a teenager at school,

  258. you roll the window down or let the window down

  259. and you yell it out to them.

  260. They love that.

  261. You tell them how much you love them,

  262. right in front of all their friends.

  263. It's great.

  264. It's great.

  265. They deserve it.

  266. Instead of fussing and fighting,

  267. have joy.

  268. Instead of factions and feuds,

  269. promote peace.

  270. Instead of bringing discord,

  271. be patient.

  272. Instead of being selfish,

  273. be kind.

  274. Instead of living without restraint,

  275. embrace genuine goodness.

  276. Instead of envying everyone,

  277. be faithful.

  278. Be trustworthy.

  279. Be dependable.

  280. Instead of being jealous and resentful and revengeful,

  281. be gentle toward other folks.

  282. Instead of being filled with rage,

  283. exhibit self-control.

  284. It will stand out in the society that we live in today.

  285. Produce a real basket of fruit.

  286. Not that plastic Sunday morning fake stuff.

  287. But the real stuff.

  288. We're to be people bearing the fruit of good character.

  289. We also are to be people who are bearing the fruit of compassion.

  290. And that's what he talks about in this context.

  291. Because he says in John 15 verse 12,

    John 15:12

  292. this is my commandment,

  293. that you love one another as I have loved you.

  294. Now if you really want to know what a verse is talking about,

  295. read the verses around it.

  296. And the verses around it point exactly to that.

  297. Now if you love God,

  298. you obey him.

  299. And he's telling us to reflect that kind of love that he has for us.

  300. He goes on in verse 13 to say this.

  301. Greater love has no one than this,

  302. that someone lay down his life for his friends.

  303. You're my friends if you do what I command you.

  304. We live in a day when there's a lot of lashing out.

  305. There's a lot of pointing fingers at somebody else.

  306. And many things are done and said in a hateful attitude.

  307. And I will tell you it is so easy for us to jump right in that fray.

  308. To be just a part of that.

  309. If that's where the world's going to be,

  310. we'll set them straight.

  311. We'll do just like they do.

  312. That don't set anything straight.

  313. That just joins the fray.

  314. Let me be clear about something.

  315. Just because you think it

  316. does not mean you need to say it.

  317. It does not mean that you need to type it.

  318. It is best not to show all your inner feelings on social media.

  319. You're to love people

  320. that you don't agree with.

  321. You're to love people

  322. that you're not very happy with.

  323. He goes as far

  324. as telling us to love folks

  325. that we'd rather not even tend to.

  326. We're to love folks

  327. like the Lord has loved us.

  328. And man, I'm telling you,

  329. the Lord has looked past a lot in our lives,

  330. hasn't He?

  331. He's loved us enough

  332. to forgive us of those things.

  333. He's loved us enough

  334. to die for those things.

  335. And in return,

  336. we share that same kind of love for each other.

  337. If you've asked Him to forgive you,

  338. He's forgiven you.

  339. And He loves you so much

  340. that even in our mess,

  341. He died for us.

  342. And now He just tells us

  343. to respond by loving others.

  344. There's a fruit of compassion there.

  345. There's also a fruit of our conduct.

  346. How we are to act.

  347. Romans 6, verse 22 says this,

    Romans 6:22

  348. But now that you've been set free from sin

  349. and have become slaves of God,

  350. the fruit you get leads to sanctification

  351. and its end eternal life.

  352. Now when Scripture speaks of sanctification,

  353. it's speaking of becoming more like Christ

  354. throughout our lives.

  355. It means that we are made holy.

  356. That means we're set apart

  357. by and for God.

  358. Does not mean we're perfect.

  359. We're not.

  360. It does mean that we're set apart for Him.

  361. And our salvation will be consummated in eternity

  362. when we are made more like Him.

  363. That's our glorification.

  364. But in the meantime,

  365. we are to grow more like Him.

  366. I like old Swindoll's book,

  367. the title,

  368. never read the book,

  369. but I love the title.

  370. Three Steps Forward, Two Steps Back.

  371. You know?

  372. That's how we live our lives.

  373. We make some progress

  374. and then we mess up.

  375. But you know what?

  376. If you take three steps forward and two steps back,

  377. you've made a step of progress.

  378. And the key to the Christian life

  379. is making progress toward being more like Christ.

  380. 1 Peter makes it very clear.

  381. He says in 1 Peter 1, verse 14,

    1 Peter 1:14

  382. As obedient children,

  383. do not conform to the passions

  384. of your former ignorance.

  385. But as He who called you is holy,

  386. you also be holy in your conduct.

  387. Since it's written,

  388. you shall be holy for I am holy.

  389. In order for us to do

  390. and to be what God has set out for us to be,

  391. we have to pursue holiness.

  392. Between the 6 a.m. crowd

  393. and the 9 a.m. crowd

  394. is about 40 men

  395. reading through

  396. The Pursuit of Holiness

  397. by Jerry Bridges.

  398. It is a challenge

  399. to each one of us.

  400. And we are challenged by that

  401. and we encourage each other through that.

  402. And Jerry in that work says this.

  403. He says,

  404. But God has not called us

  405. to be like those around us.

  406. He's called us to be like Himself.

  407. Holiness is nothing less

  408. than conformity

  409. to the character of God.

  410. Not about being a little bit better

  411. than the guy next to you.

  412. It's about being like the Lord.

  413. So to pursue holiness

  414. involves at least two things.

  415. One, it involves our diligence

  416. and our effort.

  417. And that is required

  418. to be pursuing holiness.

  419. And we are to be pursuing it.

  420. And I will tell you too,

  421. it's a lifelong task.

  422. You will never finish it.

  423. You will spend the rest of your life,

  424. Christian,

  425. serving the Lord.

  426. Becoming more like Him.

  427. It's not a crash course.

  428. It's a long haul.

  429. We will spend our lives

  430. being more like Him.

  431. That's the kind of evidence

  432. that the fruit

  433. that Jesus told us to bear

  434. because He's the vine

  435. and we're the branches.

  436. That's the kind of fruit

  437. that we're to bear

  438. in His last teaching

  439. before He went to the cross.

  440. He also said

  441. we ought to have

  442. the fruit of our conversation.

  443. The Lord's name

  444. and His praise

  445. ought to be quick on your tongue.

  446. Hebrews chapter 13,

    Hebrews 13:15

  447. verse 15 says this,

  448. through Him,

  449. speaking of Christ,

  450. then let us continually

  451. offer up a sacrifice

  452. of praise to God.

  453. That is the fruit of lips

  454. that acknowledge His name.

  455. In other words,

  456. we need to be speaking

  457. of the Lord

  458. every chance we get.

  459. It needs to be a part

  460. of our talk.

  461. James chapter 4,

    James 4 chapter mention

  462. 13 through 15,

  463. tells us to acknowledge

  464. our dependence upon Him

  465. in the plans that we make.

  466. He says,

  467. come now,

  468. you who say today

  469. or tomorrow

  470. will go into such

  471. and such a town

  472. and spend a year there

  473. and trade

  474. and make a profit.

  475. Yet you don't know

  476. what tomorrow will bring.

  477. What is your life?

  478. For you are a mist

  479. that appears for a little time

  480. and then vanishes.

  481. Instead,

  482. you ought to say,

  483. if the Lord wills,

  484. we'll live and do this

  485. or that.

  486. Friend,

  487. be careful.

  488. Don't assume

  489. other people know.

  490. Talk of your love.

  491. Talk of your praise.

  492. Talk of your dependence

  493. upon the Lord.

  494. The fruit of our conversations.

  495. Lastly,

  496. we ought to bear

  497. the fruit of harvest.

  498. If we live our lives

  499. of character,

  500. if we live our lives

  501. of Christian compassion,

  502. if we conduct ourselves

  503. with gospel conversations

  504. that are real

  505. and that are evident

  506. through our lives,

  507. God will use us

  508. and lead us

  509. to reach other folks.

  510. In Romans 1,

    Romans 1:13

  511. verse 13,

  512. Paul spoke of his hunger

  513. to come to them

  514. so that he could,

  515. quote,

  516. reap some harvest.

  517. Paul was hungry

  518. to reach people

  519. for Christ.

  520. And your hunger

  521. to see people saved

  522. is a sure sign

  523. of your faithfulness

  524. to live for the Lord.

  525. It's a sure sign

  526. of your faithfulness

  527. to pray for the lost.

  528. Lift them up.

  529. Ask God to move

  530. in their lives.

  531. Ask God to move

  532. in your life.

  533. Ask God to somehow

  534. allow you to be a part

  535. of that process

  536. to see them come

  537. to know the Lord personally.

  538. Proverbs 11,

    Proverbs 11:30

  539. verse 30 says,

  540. the fruit of the righteous

  541. is a tree of life.

  542. And I love the way

  543. King James put it.

  544. It says,

  545. and he that winneth souls

  546. is wise.

  547. I believe the greatest

  548. investment

  549. of your time

  550. can be made

  551. sharing Jesus

  552. with somebody else.

  553. there's an ancient fable

  554. that tells the story

  555. of three merchants

  556. crossing the Arabian desert.

  557. They were traveling

  558. on a starless night

  559. in order to avoid

  560. the heat

  561. and they passed

  562. over a dry creek bed.

  563. In the midst of that,

  564. they heard a voice

  565. from the night,

  566. not knowing where it came from,

  567. commanding them

  568. to stop.

  569. They were ordered

  570. to stoop down

  571. and to pick up

  572. the pebbles

  573. from that dry creek bed

  574. and to put them

  575. in their pocket

  576. and then to leave

  577. and to camp

  578. nowhere near

  579. that location.

  580. The voice then told them

  581. that in the morning

  582. they would be both happy

  583. and sad.

  584. They did what

  585. they were told.

  586. They picked up

  587. the pebbles,

  588. they put them

  589. in their pockets,

  590. they went on their way

  591. and the next morning

  592. when they woke up

  593. far away

  594. from that dry creek bed

  595. they reached

  596. in their pocket

  597. and anxiously looked

  598. and rather than

  599. finding pebbles

  600. in their pocket

  601. they found

  602. precious jewels.

  603. And just like

  604. that voice

  605. had told them

  606. they were both

  607. happy

  608. and sad.

  609. they were happy

  610. that they had jewels.

  611. They were sad

  612. that they left

  613. a lot of others

  614. behind.

  615. My friend

  616. if you ever

  617. lead anybody

  618. to the Lord Jesus

  619. you'll find

  620. it's the most

  621. satisfying thing

  622. in your life

  623. that you'll ever do.

  624. When somebody

  625. genuinely

  626. surrenders

  627. their life

  628. to the Lord

  629. and God

  630. allows you

  631. to be a part

  632. of that closing

  633. process

  634. it's a blessing.

  635. I don't believe

  636. the half

  637. has been told

  638. though

  639. because I believe

  640. that if you

  641. will pray

  642. for folks

  643. to come

  644. to know the Lord

  645. that you'll be

  646. a part of that process.

  647. I believe

  648. that if you'll

  649. share

  650. and you'll

  651. invite

  652. and you'll

  653. be

  654. anxious

  655. ready

  656. to share

  657. your love

  658. for the Lord

  659. Jesus

  660. with somebody

  661. else

  662. God will

  663. allow you

  664. to be part

  665. of that process.

  666. God has

  667. a way

  668. of

  669. capturing

  670. somebody

  671. through

  672. several

  673. different

  674. means

  675. of contact

  676. along the way

  677. and if you

  678. happen to be

  679. at the end

  680. of that

  681. when they

  682. give their

  683. heart and life

  684. to the Lord

  685. Jesus

  686. he just

  687. blesses you

  688. that much

  689. more

  690. because you

  691. happen to be

  692. a part of that

  693. but you

  694. didn't do

  695. that

  696. God did

  697. that

  698. and he

  699. did it

  700. through a lot

  701. of other

  702. people

  703. working and

  704. moving all

  705. the time

  706. in their

  707. life

  708. the jewels

  709. of heaven

  710. has to be

  711. the souls

  712. that we

  713. touch

  714. and how

  715. some of

  716. them are

  717. we see

  718. change

  719. in their

  720. life

  721. and I

  722. am convinced

  723. when we

  724. get to

  725. eternity

  726. we'll see

  727. folks that

  728. we didn't

  729. know

  730. they ever

  731. came to

  732. the Lord

  733. but if we

  734. had a

  735. testimony

  736. for the

  737. Lord

  738. and we

  739. lived it

  740. out before

  741. them and

  742. we shared

  743. with them

  744. we know

  745. that somewhere

  746. along the

  747. way we

  748. played a part

  749. in that

  750. process

  751. but we

  752. didn't know

  753. the end

  754. result till

  755. we saw

  756. them face

  757. to face

  758. it'll make

  759. you both

  760. happy and

  761. sad

  762. happy for

  763. all those

  764. that's been

  765. reached and

  766. sad for

  767. those that

  768. you didn't

  769. share with

  770. if it

  771. meant enough

  772. to Christ

  773. in the

  774. upper room

  775. to be the

  776. focal

  777. passage

  778. I mean

  779. we're

  780. talking

  781. John 13

  782. through 17

  783. and right

  784. smack in

  785. the middle

  786. at John

  787. 15 5

  788. he says

  789. I'm the

  790. vine

  791. and you're

  792. the branches

  793. without me

  794. you can do

  795. nothing

  796. but in me

  797. you'll bear

  798. fruit

  799. they got

  800. up from

  801. there just

  802. minutes

  803. later

  804. and went

  805. to the

  806. garden where

  807. he'd be

  808. arrested

  809. he knew

  810. what was

  811. coming

  812. he knew

  813. what to

  814. share

  815. it was

  816. important to

  817. him then

  818. it's important

  819. to us now

  820. let's make

  821. sure that our

  822. branches are

  823. healthy enough

  824. with our

  825. character

  826. healthy enough

  827. with our

  828. compassion

  829. healthy enough

  830. with our

  831. conduct

  832. with our

  833. conversation

  834. with our

  835. contentment

  836. to bear

  837. fruit

  838. fruit that

  839. is fit

  840. to reach

  841. others

  842. for Christ

  843. because if

  844. that's the

  845. burden of

  846. Christ in

  847. the upper

  848. room

  849. in his

  850. last sit

  851. down with

  852. his disciples

  853. before he

  854. went to

  855. the cross

  856. if that's

  857. such a

  858. priority to

  859. him

  860. it ought to

  861. be to

  862. us

  863. and just

  864. quite honestly

  865. there is

  866. never a

  867. better time

  868. than as we

  869. approach

  870. Easter

  871. what an

  872. open door

  873. of opportunity

  874. to welcome

  875. to invite

  876. to begin

  877. a conversation

  878. with somebody

  879. about the

  880. difference that

  881. Jesus has made

  882. in your life

  883. may God

  884. help us

  885. to be

  886. fruit bearing

  887. Christians

  888. may he bless

  889. that path

  890. with every

  891. head bowed

  892. and every

  893. eye closed

  894. it's a

  895. challenge

  896. folks

  897. it's a

  898. challenge

  899. and I

  900. asked you

  901. last week

  902. to pray

  903. that God

  904. would give

  905. you names

  906. and lay

  907. them upon

  908. your heart

  909. and I

  910. asked you

  911. this week

  912. to spend

  913. time praying

  914. for those

  915. names

  916. asking God

  917. to work

  918. in their

  919. lives

  920. asking God

  921. to work

  922. in your

  923. life

  924. asking God

  925. to work

  926. out

  927. just a

  928. way

  929. for you

  930. to invite

  931. we'll make

  932. that process

  933. just as easy

  934. as possible

  935. for you

  936. with invitation

  937. cards that

  938. tell all

  939. the details

  940. if you're

  941. shy and

  942. don't say

  943. much

  944. hand them

  945. a card

  946. man I'd

  947. love for you

  948. to come

  949. to this

  950. but you

  951. know there's

  952. folks around

  953. you that

  954. desperately

  955. need Jesus

  956. and if you

  957. prayed for

  958. those folks

  959. God's laid

  960. folks on

  961. your heart

  962. some of you

  963. have been

  964. like me

  965. your card's

  966. too full

  967. it ain't big

  968. enough

  969. as God

  970. lays burdens

  971. upon your

  972. heart

  973. let's be

  974. diligent

  975. let's go

  976. and see

  977. what God

  978. has in

  979. store for

  980. us

  981. and then

  982. come and

  983. see

  984. what he

  985. does in

  986. our midst

  987. if you're

  988. here this

  989. morning and

  990. you've never

  991. accepted the

  992. Lord Jesus

  993. Christ I

  994. want you to

  995. know

  996. that if you

  997. feel him

  998. drawing you

  999. this morning

  1000. if you feel

  1001. a burden

  1002. to ask

  1003. God to

  1004. forgive you

  1005. of your

  1006. sins

  1007. and to

  1008. come into

  1009. your life

  1010. and to

  1011. change you

  1012. I promise

  1013. you today

  1014. he'll save

  1015. you

  1016. today's

  1017. day of

  1018. salvation

  1019. he'll work

  1020. and move

  1021. in your

  1022. life as

  1023. only he

  1024. can

  1025. you don't

  1026. need to

  1027. clean up

  1028. to come

  1029. to him

  1030. he'll

  1031. clean you

  1032. up

  1033. he'll

  1034. make you

  1035. right

  1036. you surrender

  1037. your life

  1038. to him

  1039. give it

  1040. over to

  1041. him

  1042. maybe you're

  1043. here this

  1044. morning and

  1045. you've done

  1046. that but

  1047. you've never

  1048. acknowledged that

  1049. publicly and

  1050. you need to

  1051. do that

  1052. it's not a

  1053. private decision

  1054. everything Christ

  1055. ever did

  1056. said it

  1057. was public

  1058. he'd just

  1059. look at folks

  1060. and say come

  1061. follow me

  1062. and they'd

  1063. come on

  1064. or they'd

  1065. decide not

  1066. to come on

  1067. so I

  1068. encourage you

  1069. to make a

  1070. decision to

  1071. follow him

  1072. today

  1073. maybe God's

  1074. drawing you

  1075. to be a

  1076. part of this

  1077. fellowship

  1078. you know that

  1079. God's leading

  1080. you to be a

  1081. part of this

  1082. church

  1083. join us along

  1084. the journey

  1085. help us do

  1086. what God

  1087. has called

  1088. us to do

  1089. or maybe you

  1090. just need to

  1091. get your heart

  1092. right today

  1093. to just come to

  1094. this altar

  1095. or have a

  1096. pastor pray for

  1097. you to ask

  1098. God to do

  1099. a work in

  1100. your life

  1101. I don't know

  1102. what God's

  1103. telling you to

  1104. do but I

  1105. know you'll

  1106. never be

  1107. satisfied unless

  1108. you follow him

  1109. so let's be

  1110. obedient today

  1111. heavenly father

  1112. lead and work

  1113. in our midst

  1114. right now oh

  1115. God I pray

  1116. have your will

  1117. and your way

  1118. in our hearts

  1119. in Jesus precious

  1120. name amen
