  1. If you have your Bibles this morning, I want you to turn to Genesis chapter 22.

    Genesis 22 chapter mention

  2. Genesis chapter 22.

    Genesis 22 chapter mention

  3. I want us to climb again up Mount Moriah to look at Abraham and Isaac.

  4. I preached on this three weeks ago.

  5. I don't expect you to remember that.

  6. But it is such a poignant passage that I believe we need to look at it one more time.

  7. I say that because there are similarities here to the cross of Christ that to me seem amazing.

  8. And I want you to see it.

  9. I don't want you to miss the sacrificial similarities.

  10. It's in Genesis chapter 22 beginning in verse 1 and it says this.

    Genesis 22 chapter mention

  11. After these things, God tested Abraham and said to him, Abraham.

  12. And he said, here am I.

  13. He said, take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah

  14. and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.

  15. So Abraham rose early in the morning, saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him

  16. and his son Isaac.

  17. And he cut the wood for the burnt offering and arose and went to a place of which God had told him.

  18. On the third day, Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the place from afar.

  19. Then Abraham said to his young men, stay here with the donkey.

  20. I and the boy will go over there and worship and come again to you.

  21. And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac, his son.

  22. And he took in his hand the fire and the knife, so they went, both of them together.

  23. And Isaac said to his father Abraham, my father, he said, here am I, my son.

  24. He said, behold the fire and the wood, but where's the lamb for the burnt offering?

  25. Abraham said, God will provide himself the lamb.

  26. For a burnt offering, my son.

  27. So they went, both of them, together.

  28. When they came to the place of which God had told him, Abraham built the altar there and laid the wood in order

  29. and bound Isaac, his son, and laid him on the altar on top of the wood.

  30. Then Abraham reached out his hand and took his knife to slaughter his son.

  31. But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, Abraham, Abraham.

  32. And he said, here am I.

  33. He said, do not lay your hand on your boy or do anything to him, for I now know that you fear God,

  34. seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.

  35. And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked and behold, behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by its horns.

  36. And Abraham went and took the ram and offered it as a burnt offering instead of his son.

  37. So Abraham called the name of the place the Lord will provide.

  38. As it is said to this day, on the mount of the Lord, it shall be provided.

  39. Let's pray together.

  40. Lord Jesus, thank you for the cross of Christ, the sacrifice that Christ made for us that is foreshadowed in this passage today.

  41. Help us to see the correlation, not only of the Christ event and the Abraham and Isaac event,

  42. but also the relationship to our life, of what it means to acknowledge the sacrificial death of Christ

  43. and then live our lives as living sacrifices.

  44. Give us understanding today as can only come through your Holy Spirit.

  45. In Jesus' name, amen.

  46. There's no doubt that this event, Mount Moriah, points to the most pivotal event in all of history.

  47. And the most pivotal event in all of history happened on Mount Calvary.

  48. Jesus died on the cross and rose again.

  49. That is what history rotates around.

  50. And if you look at the Old Testament, there is often scripture that is a foreshadowing of the sacrifice of Christ.

  51. It foretells what is to come.

  52. In reality, the Old Testament sets the stage by showing us the need of Christ.

  53. Everything that's happened since the cross looks back to the cross.

  54. In other words, our hope is found in the cross.

  55. And in a very real sense, those that came before the cross were helpless,

  56. if not for the coming of the event of the cross of Christ.

  57. Even though their knowledge of Christ was limited at best.

  58. And that is filled with such a foreshadowing that we see in the Old Testament again and again.

  59. First of the year, I plan to preach on Genesis 1 through 11.

  60. The creation of the world and where the war really started that we're facing today in our world.

  61. And even there, with the first sin and the covering of that sin, you see the cross.

  62. You see it again and again.

  63. And so today I want to show you seven similarities.

  64. I know it's scary.

  65. Just chill out, all right?

  66. Seven similarities of this event and the sacrificial death of Christ on the cross.

  67. Now having little sleep, if I fade out on four, forgive me, okay?

  68. First is the pain of the sacrifice.

  69. When Abraham was told in verse 2 to sacrifice his son, his only son,

  70. it was the ultimate demand.

  71. For as long as Abraham had had the call of God upon his life,

  72. and that was throughout his adult years,

  73. he looked to the promise of the birth of his son.

  74. Not only did he want a child,

  75. but his future legacy hung on this boy.

  76. The promised covenant that God made with Abraham would be only fulfilled through his line.

  77. Yet here God says all of that, sacrifice it.

  78. Sacrifice him.

  79. It was the ultimate ask.

  80. But God did not ask anything of Abraham that he would not do himself

  81. because the price of holiness requires that sin must be paid for permanently.

  82. Before the cross of Christ, bulls and goats of yesteryear sacrificed in orchestrated fashion,

  83. served as just a stopgap to an eternal sin problem.

  84. Every sacrifice that was made in a tabernacle or a temple

  85. were only a foreshadowing of the sacrifice of the sinless one to come.

  86. The reality is the offering of Isaac is similar to the cross of Christ

  87. concerning the pain involved of the sacrifice.

  88. But not only that, but there's also a similarity to me in the struggle of the journey.

  89. I don't want you to read this casually.

  90. Abraham and Isaac wound their way up to the mountain

  91. to the place that God ordained for them to go.

  92. And it was upon that spot where that sacrifice was offered

  93. that the temple would be built in the future.

  94. It was upon that spot that the sacrifices on the Day of Atonement

  95. and the Holy of Holies, the sacrifices that would be made

  96. would be on that spot.

  97. It was at that spot God picked out and led him.

  98. It was a prophetic spot.

  99. And it was a three-day journey.

  100. Three days of knowing that he was to offer his son.

  101. Three days, I believe, of wondering how it all played out.

  102. Like the man said to Jesus,

  103. I believe, help thou my unbelief.

  104. I believe that must have been the prayer of Abraham

  105. as he wound up that mountain.

  106. Three days of dread.

  107. Three days of struggle.

  108. Three days of heartache.

  109. Three days of surrender.

  110. Giving up his way for God's way.

  111. And it reminds me of another struggle.

  112. Because in Luke chapter 9, verse 51,

    Luke 9:51

  113. Jesus, it says,

  114. set his face toward Jerusalem.

  115. Now, roughly six months after that verse,

  116. he would climb Calvary's hill.

  117. But that pivotal verse in Luke

  118. shows us that everything after that point

  119. was aimed at the cross of Christ

  120. and what he would do on the cross.

  121. His earlier ministry was gathering disciples.

  122. His earlier ministry was teaching those disciples

  123. the truths of God's kingdom.

  124. His earlier days was showing them how to minister.

  125. He was displaying for them the power of the Holy Spirit

  126. and training them to found the church.

  127. And after three years of that kind of ministry,

  128. it all becomes directly related to the cross.

  129. And when his last week began,

  130. he barred a beast of burden,

  131. made a triumphal entry,

  132. and began his journey

  133. to struggle up Calvary's hill.

  134. And on the night he was betrayed,

  135. and before he would be crucified,

  136. he suffered in prayer.

  137. As I told you at Easter time,

  138. I think you can only understand

  139. the weight of the cross

  140. if you understand the journey that got him there.

  141. And in the same way,

  142. what kind of walk was that

  143. with Abraham and his boy?

  144. The struggle of the journey.

  145. Third similarity.

  146. The loneliness of the surrender.

  147. When Abraham and Isaac reached the foot of Mount Moriah,

  148. Abraham spoke to those that traveled with him.

  149. Verse 5 tells us what happened.

  150. And it says in verse 5,

  151. Then Abraham said to his young men,

  152. Stay here with the donkey.

  153. I and the boy will go over there

  154. and worship and come back to you.

  155. Now that's a poignant statement.

  156. There's a lot there.

  157. But some of it is

  158. that that final journey

  159. would have to be traveled alone.

  160. Just he and his precious son.

  161. And when I saw that,

  162. I could not help but think about

  163. when Jesus had taken

  164. Peter, James, and John

  165. with him up the Mount of Transfiguration

  166. in that amazing event

  167. where the glory and the light of heaven

  168. shone upon him,

  169. moved in a mighty way,

  170. and he was up there

  171. with only Peter, James, and John.

  172. It was the same three,

  173. Peter, James, and John,

  174. that he took further

  175. into the Garden of Gethsemane

  176. to pray with him.

  177. However, in the final hours

  178. of his prayer,

  179. he went a little further

  180. alone

  181. to lay out his heaviest burdens

  182. before the Father.

  183. I believe this journey

  184. of Abraham and Isaac,

  185. this last leg of the journey,

  186. foreshadows that of Christ

  187. in the Garden.

  188. It was the loneliness

  189. of the surrender.

  190. Fourth thing is

  191. the foresight of the Father.

  192. Abraham was instructed

  193. to go to Moriah.

  194. Moriah is a Hebrew word,

  195. and the meaning of the word

  196. Moriah is foreseen by Yahweh.

  197. God saw all of this

  198. before Abraham was even born.

  199. He knew that he would say

  200. to Abraham,

  201. go to the land of Moriah.

  202. He also knew much more.

  203. He knew before he placed

  204. Adam and Eve in the garden

  205. that they would sin.

  206. And that after him,

  207. we would all be born

  208. into sin.

  209. He knew it

  210. before it happened.

  211. I wear an Apple watch today,

  212. but

  213. to not so many years ago,

  214. some of y'all

  215. will blow your mind,

  216. you youngins,

  217. we've not always had

  218. Apple watches.

  219. We've not always had

  220. smart watches.

  221. unless you count the way

  222. the Swiss make a watch,

  223. which is pretty fabulous.

  224. And this watch does a lot of stuff,

  225. but let's forget this watch.

  226. A traditional watch's job

  227. is to tell time.

  228. It can do other things.

  229. It can possibly tell you

  230. what day it is

  231. and those type things.

  232. But his job

  233. is to

  234. tell time.

  235. It's primary purpose.

  236. And in the same way,

  237. we can do a lot of things,

  238. but

  239. I want you to know

  240. that our primary purpose

  241. in life,

  242. we were made

  243. to glorify God.

  244. That's what we were made for.

  245. It's our primary purpose.

  246. We can do a lot of other things

  247. in life,

  248. but our primary purpose

  249. will always be

  250. to glorify God.

  251. That's what we're made for.

  252. Now,

  253. a watch

  254. can fail

  255. to perform.

  256. Sometimes it runs fast.

  257. Sometimes it runs slow.

  258. Sometimes it even stops.

  259. And when a traditional watch

  260. stops,

  261. its face

  262. tells a lie.

  263. It's not the right time.

  264. It does not live up

  265. to its making.

  266. But the watchmaker

  267. knew that was going to happen.

  268. And so he built

  269. a provision in there.

  270. One of two ways.

  271. The early watches

  272. are those who

  273. would need to be

  274. wound again.

  275. They could wind

  276. that watch

  277. up again.

  278. reset it

  279. and go on.

  280. Newer watches

  281. added batteries

  282. and so it goes

  283. until the battery dies

  284. and then you

  285. replace the battery

  286. if you can ever

  287. get the back off of it.

  288. There's a provision

  289. built in

  290. for a

  291. malfunctioning

  292. watch.

  293. I thank God

  294. that he's built

  295. a provision

  296. for

  297. humanity.

  298. For a humanity

  299. that fails

  300. to live up

  301. to our primary purpose

  302. because God

  303. has built

  304. into his plan

  305. a plan

  306. of redemption

  307. before the fall

  308. of man.

  309. Actually before the

  310. foundation

  311. of the world.

  312. Revelation 318

  313. tells us

  314. God

  315. knew a provision

  316. would need

  317. to be made

  318. and that provision

  319. was made

  320. through Christ

  321. on Calvary.

  322. But the

  323. father

  324. knew it would

  325. be needed

  326. before the

  327. fall ever came

  328. in the garden.

  329. Before the first

  330. sin was ever

  331. committed.

  332. There's a

  333. commonality

  334. of Abraham

  335. and Christ

  336. in the

  337. foresight

  338. of the

  339. father.

  340. Even the

  341. very mountain

  342. that Abraham

  343. was sent to

  344. was named

  345. after the

  346. foresight

  347. of God.

  348. I'll tell you

  349. another commonality

  350. and that is

  351. the dread

  352. of the

  353. place.

  354. I picked

  355. up on this

  356. parallel

  357. and I just

  358. can't get

  359. over it.

  360. Because once

  361. God told

  362. Abraham to

  363. go the

  364. dread of

  365. the place

  366. was before

  367. him.

  368. He cut

  369. the wood

  370. or he was

  371. 100 years

  372. old.

  373. I hope

  374. somebody cut

  375. his wood

  376. for him.

  377. But anyway

  378. he cut

  379. the wood

  380. he prepared

  381. for the

  382. trip and

  383. he set

  384. out for

  385. the place.

  386. That's in

  387. verse 3.

  388. In verse 4

  389. it says on

  390. day 3 he

  391. lifted up

  392. his eyes

  393. and he saw

  394. the place

  395. from afar.

  396. Don't you

  397. feel the

  398. dread in

  399. that?

  400. I mean

  401. you've been

  402. anticipating

  403. and wondering

  404. how God

  405. was going

  406. to work

  407. all this

  408. out and

  409. exactly what

  410. was going

  411. to happen

  412. and you're

  413. winding around

  414. making your

  415. way and you

  416. catch sight.

  417. That's the

  418. spot.

  419. That's the

  420. dreaded spot.

  421. It was ever

  422. before him.

  423. Verse 9

  424. says when

  425. they came

  426. to the

  427. place.

  428. The

  429. place.

  430. I'm

  431. thinking

  432. oh God

  433. I believe

  434. I know

  435. you're

  436. leading

  437. I know

  438. you can

  439. provide

  440. but

  441. this is

  442. the

  443. place.

  444. The

  445. dread of

  446. the place

  447. that never

  448. seemed to

  449. leave.

  450. And what

  451. caught me

  452. about that

  453. was it

  454. reminded me

  455. of Luke

    Luke 23:33

  456. chapter 23

  457. verse 33

  458. and it

  459. says and

  460. when they

  461. came to

  462. the place

  463. that's called

  464. the skull

  465. there they

  466. crucified him

  467. and the

  468. criminals

  469. one on his

  470. right and

  471. one on his

  472. left.

  473. The dread

  474. of the place

  475. was common.

  476. there's

  477. another

  478. commonality

  479. I want

  480. to tell

  481. you about

  482. and that's

  483. the

  484. willingness

  485. of the

  486. innocent.

  487. There's a

  488. mysterious

  489. part in

  490. this story

  491. that I

  492. don't believe

  493. when we

  494. get to

  495. heaven we'll

  496. ask the

  497. questions that

  498. we say

  499. we'll ask.

  500. Okay?

  501. People say

  502. boy when I

  503. get to

  504. heaven I'm

  505. gonna

  506. no you're

  507. not.

  508. No you're

  509. not.

  510. If you

  511. get there

  512. okay.

  513. That's a

  514. whole other

  515. matter I'll

  516. deal with

  517. before we

  518. leave but

  519. you're gonna

  520. be so caught

  521. up in the

  522. glory of

  523. God in

  524. the presence

  525. of Christ

  526. in the

  527. reunion of

  528. the saints

  529. in as

  530. scripture calls

  531. it the

  532. marriage supper

  533. of the land

  534. that sounds

  535. like a feast

  536. to me.

  537. You'll be so

  538. caught up in

  539. that that

  540. your questions

  541. will be

  542. gone.

  543. But I

  544. wonder now

  545. I won't

  546. then I

  547. guess

  548. but I

  549. wonder now

  550. about that

  551. trip up

  552. there for

  553. Isaac and

  554. Abraham.

  555. I mean how

  556. did that all

  557. go down?

  558. You know I

  559. mean and

  560. how did it

  561. work out when

  562. they got to

  563. the place of

  564. the sacrifice?

  565. Isaac was a

  566. young strapping

  567. man and while

  568. Abraham was

  569. old and I

  570. mean if you're

  571. a hundred today

  572. I don't mean to

  573. be you know

  574. that's considered

  575. old by most of

  576. us you know.

  577. was there any

  578. dialogue there

  579. besides him

  580. asking about

  581. that sacrifice?

  582. I mean we

  583. know on the

  584. way up Isaac

  585. asked where the

  586. sacrifice was and

  587. we know that

  588. Abraham answered

  589. that God would

  590. provide but when

  591. they got there

  592. scripture tells us

  593. that Abraham

  594. laid the wood

  595. in order and

  596. laid his bound

  597. son on the

  598. wood and then

  599. Abraham raised

  600. the knife.

  601. Isaac had to

  602. be willing to

  603. serve his

  604. father when

  605. just the two

  606. of them are in

  607. that spot.

  608. Whatever may

  609. come he had to

  610. trust the father.

  611. That reminds me

  612. of Christ.

  613. In the garden

  614. of Gethsemane

  615. may this cup

  616. pass from me

  617. yet not my

  618. will but yours.

  619. And on the

  620. cross when he

  621. cried out my

  622. God my God

  623. why have you

  624. forsaken me?

  625. Christ felt

  626. forsaken.

  627. But was he?

  628. That's the

  629. beginning of a

  630. psalm that he

  631. quotes that speaks

  632. not only of the

  633. prophecy of the

  634. cross but it

  635. also speaks of

  636. the delivery of

  637. the Lord.

  638. And Christ

  639. knew that

  640. psalm.

  641. Isaac had to

  642. go willingly.

  643. Christ went

  644. willingly.

  645. It was the

  646. willingness of

  647. the innocent.

  648. One more

  649. similarity and

  650. I'll close.

  651. The provision of

  652. the sacrifice.

  653. Abraham

  654. as the knife

  655. was raised in

  656. agony over

  657. his son the

  658. angel of the

  659. Lord spoke

  660. saying in

  661. verse 12

  662. he said do

  663. not lay your

  664. hand on the

  665. boy or do

  666. anything to

  667. him.

  668. For now I

  669. know that you

  670. fear God

  671. seeing that you

  672. have not

  673. withheld your

  674. son your only

  675. son from me.

  676. And Abraham

  677. lifted up his

  678. eyes and

  679. looked and

  680. behold behind

  681. him was a

  682. ram caught in

  683. a thicket by

  684. his horns.

  685. Abraham went

  686. and took the

  687. ram and

  688. offered it up

  689. as a burnt

  690. offering instead

  691. of his son.

  692. So Abraham

  693. called the name

  694. of that place

  695. the Lord

  696. will provide.

  697. And it is

  698. said to this

  699. day on the

  700. mount of the

  701. Lord it shall

  702. be provided.

  703. This is the

  704. most obvious

  705. similarity to

  706. that of Christ

  707. because God

  708. watched his son

  709. be led like a

  710. lamb to the

  711. slaughter laid

  712. upon the wooden

  713. cross bound by

  714. the spikes in

  715. his hands and

  716. feet and it

  717. is as if God

  718. himself lifted

  719. the knife of

  720. sacrifice and

  721. brought it down

  722. on his own son

  723. as Christ hung

  724. on the cross and

  725. died for our

  726. sins.

  727. That is the

  728. work of the

  729. cross.

  730. The sacrifice to

  731. replace all

  732. previous sacrifices.

  733. Hebrews chapter

    Hebrews 10:11

  734. 10 verse 11 and

  735. 12 speaks of this

  736. and explains it to

  737. us when it says

  738. and every priest

  739. stands daily at his

  740. service.

  741. offering repeatedly

  742. the same sacrifices

  743. which can never

  744. take away sin but

  745. Christ had offered

  746. for all time a

  747. single sacrifice for

  748. sins.

  749. He sat down at the

  750. right hand of the

  751. father.

  752. God has provided

  753. the sacrifice.

  754. He did for

  755. Abraham.

  756. He did for us.

  757. And the

  758. similarities of

  759. these two stories

  760. amaze me when you

  761. look at the agony of

  762. giving up your son.

  763. When you look at the

  764. struggle of the

  765. journey.

  766. When you look at the

  767. loneliness involved in

  768. that.

  769. The prophetic foresight

  770. of the event.

  771. The dread that came

  772. with it.

  773. And the willingness of

  774. the one to be

  775. sacrificed.

  776. And once again God

  777. provides.

  778. I want you to hear me

  779. today.

  780. He always provides.

  781. He provides.

  782. He provides.

  783. He provides.

  784. He provides.

  785. He provides.

  786. He provides.

  787. He provides.

  788. He provides.

  789. Now.

  790. What are you going

  791. through today?

  792. What are you struggling

  793. with?

  794. God will provide.

  795. He's good for it.

  796. He always does.

  797. What does he ask for in

  798. return?

  799. He asks for the

  800. surrender of our lives.

  801. Romans 10 9 says if you

  802. confess with your mouth

  803. that Jesus is Lord and

  804. believe in your heart that

  805. God raised him from the

  806. dead.

  807. You will be saved.

  808. And the sacrifice of our

  809. lives for him is what he

  810. asked for.

  811. And friend don't

  812. misunderstand me.

  813. He don't want us to die

  814. for him.

  815. He wants us to live for

  816. him.

  817. Romans chapter 12 verse

    Romans 12:1

  818. 1 and 2 says this and I

  819. appeal to you therefore

  820. brothers by the mercies of

  821. God to present your bodies

  822. as living sacrifice holy

  823. and acceptable to God which

  824. is your spiritual worship.

  825. Oh listen friend.

  826. You need to memorize this

  827. verse today.

  828. In the world in which we

  829. live you need to know it.

  830. Bring your Bibles with you.

  831. Underline it.

  832. Mark it.

  833. Put a post-it there.

  834. Live by it.

  835. Do not be conformed to this

  836. world.

  837. But be transformed by the

  838. renewal of your mind.

  839. That by testing you may

  840. discern what the will of

  841. God.

  842. What is the will of God.

  843. What is good and

  844. acceptable and perfect.

  845. God just wants you to live

  846. for him.

  847. That's what he wanted for

  848. Abraham and Isaac.

  849. That's the opportunity that

  850. he gives us provided through

  851. Christ.

  852. Christ.

  853. And that opportunity is

  854. provided through the

  855. sacrifice of Christ to all

  856. who come to Christ.

  857. Some of you might need to

  858. hear that this morning.

  859. But I'll promise you one

  860. thing.

  861. There's a world right outside

  862. those doors that desperately

  863. needs to hear it.

  864. With every head bowed and

  865. every eye closed, if there's

  866. never been a time in your

  867. life when you have surrendered

  868. your life to the Lord Jesus,

  869. ask him to forgive you of your

  870. sins, to come into your life

  871. and to change you.

  872. Empower you with the Holy

  873. Spirit of God and enable you

  874. to live a life that glorifies

  875. him.

  876. To live a life that pleases

  877. him.

  878. If you've never made such a

  879. commitment as that, I want you

  880. to know we'll stand in just a

  881. moment and we'll sing, but more

  882. important than any song we sing

  883. is that you make the proper

  884. decision for the Lord as he

  885. leads you.

  886. You come and say, Pastor, I want

  887. to be saved.

  888. I want to know the Lord Jesus

  889. personally.

  890. You come and we'll lead you in

  891. that process.

  892. Maybe you've done that privately,

  893. but you've never told anybody

  894. about it.

  895. It's time to tell folks.

  896. Jesus said, if you're ashamed of

  897. me before others, I'll be ashamed

  898. of you before my Father.

  899. He wants us to boldly live for

  900. him.

  901. To honor him by letting others

  902. know what Christ has done in our

  903. life, by living that out and by

  904. showing that through the first

  905. step of obedience of baptism.

  906. And man, what a cool opportunity

  907. we have coming up in just a little

  908. less than a month for you to

  909. publicly display your faith in

  910. Christ through baptism.

  911. You might be here this morning.

  912. God may be drawing you to First

  913. Baptist Church.

  914. You know this is the place that God

  915. would have you to serve.

  916. He's led you in that way.

  917. You come.

  918. We'll happily guide you in that

  919. process.

  920. And there's a lot of others here

  921. today who look at your life and

  922. when you look at your life, you say,

  923. I'm not living sacrificially for the

  924. Lord.

  925. My life's not marked as a living

  926. sacrifice for God.

  927. I'm doing what I want to do instead

  928. of what he wants me to do.

  929. I'm displeasing him.

  930. I'm not living for his glory.

  931. And I need to set that straight.

  932. Right here in the middle of the hot

  933. summer.

  934. What a great time to get it right.

  935. Quit living lacklusterly for the

  936. Lord.

  937. Enough with casual Christianity.

  938. The Holy Spirit of God fill us up.

  939. Wear us out and build us back up.

  940. That's what it's about.

  941. You just do what God tells you.

  942. Just trust him.

  943. I don't ever want you to do more than

  944. what God would have you to do.

  945. I pray you'll never be satisfied with

  946. less.

  947. Lord Jesus, I love you.

  948. And I thank you that week after week

  949. you allow me to stand and proclaim

  950. the salvation of the Lord.

  951. With a full confidence that you will

  952. provide.

  953. God, help us to respond in obedience,

  954. God, I pray.

  955. In Jesus' name, amen.
