  1. Everybody will turn to Genesis chapter 22.

    Genesis 22 chapter mention

  2. Am I on?

  3. Can you hear me?

  4. That's why y'all were so, you couldn't hear me.

  5. I almost did all that again, but I'm not going to.

  6. I picked up the phone recently, and a friend said,

  7. I, cancer.

  8. His voice broke, as he told me.

  9. I knew that tests had been done.

  10. I knew that he was somewhat anticipating it.

  11. I said, you broke up, tell me again.

  12. And he said, I don't have cancer.

  13. I needed to hear it again.

  14. Wednesday morning at 4 a.m., my daughter, oldest daughter,

  15. left, packed like a mule going down the road.

  16. I took a picture as she left.

  17. I told her I loved her and to be careful.

  18. She got to probably about Pickens County Airport,

  19. and we realized she had left something that she needed,

  20. that she had bought for the first days of school,

  21. and she needed it.

  22. And so we called her.

  23. She turned around.

  24. At 4.10, I met her in the road, in front of the house,

  25. put her package in the car, and said,

  26. I love you.

  27. Be careful.

  28. I wanted her to hear it again.

  29. Sometimes you need to hear things again.

  30. Sometimes they need to be repeated.

  31. And Abraham, who we've been studying,

  32. offered up his son Isaac on the altar

  33. as God instructed him.

  34. And an angel comes to Abraham after he does that

  35. and speaks words that he has already heard.

  36. But sometimes we need to hear it again.

  37. Let's hear it again this morning.

  38. Genesis chapter 22, beginning in verse 15,

    Genesis 22 chapter mention

  39. it says this,

  40. And the angel of the Lord called to Abraham

  41. a second time from heaven and said,

  42. By myself I have sworn, declares the Lord,

  43. because you have done this

  44. and have not withheld your son, your only son,

  45. I will surely bless you,

  46. and I will surely multiply your offspring

  47. as the stars of heaven

  48. and as the sand that is on the seashore.

  49. And your offspring shall possess the gate of his enemy.

  50. And in your offspring shall all the nations of the earth

  51. be blessed because you have obeyed my voice.

  52. So Abraham returned to his young men

  53. and they arose and went together to Beersheba.

  54. And Abraham lived at Beersheba.

  55. Let's pray together.

  56. Heavenly Father, I am thankful for the word that you give us

  57. and the words that sometimes you give us a second time.

  58. Those things that we often sometimes,

  59. not only a second time,

  60. but maybe more,

  61. need to hear again.

  62. God, I pray today

  63. that in the things that we face in our lives,

  64. help us, oh God,

  65. to hear what we need to hear

  66. again today.

  67. In Jesus' name.

  68. Amen.

  69. Amen.

  70. I really believe verse 15 through 19

  71. is a reboot for Abraham.

  72. He desired a son to carry on the lineage

  73. that God had promised him.

  74. Having that son and watching him grow

  75. and then God asking him to sacrifice his son.

  76. Willing to trust the Lord,

  77. he followed the command,

  78. trusting that somehow God would intervene.

  79. Somehow, if God took his son,

  80. he'd bring him back.

  81. He told others that both of them would be back.

  82. Right there at the foot of the hill,

  83. when they followed him most of the way,

  84. he told them to wait

  85. and he and the boy would be back.

  86. He had confidence that God was going to do something

  87. to bring them both back safely.

  88. God provided the ram that they noticed

  89. as the knife was raised over Isaac.

  90. That is slightly intense, folks.

  91. Where do we go from here?

  92. Well, you remember what you already know.

  93. You hear what you've heard again.

  94. So I want to be clear this morning.

  95. I may not tell you anything new today,

  96. but there are three truths

  97. that I want you to hear again.

  98. I think they apply to anything

  99. and everything in your life

  100. that you're concerned about.

  101. Three truths.

  102. First one is this.

  103. God gives us his word.

  104. God gives us his word.

  105. The angel came a second time.

  106. The first time the message

  107. was when the covenant of God was formed

  108. with Abraham.

  109. It's found in Genesis chapter 15

    Genesis 15 chapter mention

  110. and before Abraham even had Isaac,

  111. he promised him that he would.

  112. With an uncertainty of how it could be done

  113. when his wife was past

  114. the age of bearing children,

  115. Abraham made other arrangements

  116. with Hagar, the lead maidservant,

  117. against the wishes of God.

  118. God promises Isaac again

  119. and then Isaac is born.

  120. Miraculously.

  121. We get to this event in Genesis chapter 22

    Genesis 22 chapter mention

  122. on Mount Moriah

  123. and God provides a ram

  124. so that there's no need for Isaac to die there.

  125. In the aftermath,

  126. God reiterates, underlines

  127. what he said to start with

  128. because God keeps his promises.

  129. Whether it's his promises

  130. or whether it's the promise,

  131. he keeps it.

  132. And when I say the promise,

  133. I mean

  134. that once you are saved by the grace of God,

  135. your salvation is secure.

  136. That's the promise of God.

  137. The promise of God is

  138. that if you'll surrender your life

  139. to the Lord Jesus Christ,

  140. if you'll admit that you're a sinner

  141. and ask him to come into your life

  142. and to save you,

  143. that he will do it.

  144. It's a promise of God.

  145. Once he does that,

  146. you can rest in that.

  147. That never changes.

  148. You'll change.

  149. God doesn't change.

  150. But the salvation that you receive from him

  151. will never change.

  152. It is secure.

  153. Not only does it secure your eternity,

  154. but it upticks your life here

  155. because you are empowered now

  156. by the Holy Spirit of God

  157. to rise above the temptation

  158. that you face in this life.

  159. That is the promise of salvation.

  160. The promise of God.

  161. But beyond that promise,

  162. there are the promises of God.

  163. And I want you to understand

  164. that God's other promises

  165. are just as secure as your salvation.

  166. Notice the angel says,

  167. because you have done this.

  168. Remember, Abraham has went up the mountain with Isaac,

  169. offered his son to the Lord.

  170. The son did not require him.

  171. Excuse me, the Lord did not require his son.

  172. And now the angel says,

  173. because you have done this.

  174. Abraham was blessed because he was obedient.

  175. But I want you to be clear about something.

  176. God knew Abraham would obey him.

  177. God knew Abraham would obey him

  178. before he ever established the first covenant with him.

  179. God knew Abraham would obey him

  180. before he was even created,

  181. before Abraham was even born.

  182. The promise of God came

  183. before he knew beforehand

  184. what he was going to show Abraham

  185. and how Abraham would respond.

  186. He has promised Abraham

  187. that his descendants would be numerous.

  188. Here the angel takes it a step further.

  189. And in that promise of the legacy of Abraham,

  190. he's described for the first time here

  191. in this angelic message,

  192. that that legacy is to be as numerous

  193. as the stars in heaven,

  194. which are too numerous to count.

  195. Now that's hard for us to grasp in Pickens County

  196. because we're blessed with trees

  197. and hills and mountains.

  198. Two weeks ago, I spent some nights in South Dakota

  199. on the backside of nowhere in Big Sky Country.

  200. And when we went out at night,

  201. we saw the stars.

  202. Too numerous to count.

  203. Never before until this angelic message

  204. was his legacy described as numerous

  205. as the sands on the seashore.

  206. If you were to take a cup of sand

  207. and this afternoon,

  208. take that cup of sand

  209. and go to your dining room table

  210. and pour that cup of sand out

  211. and start counting out the grains of sand

  212. as if you were counting coins,

  213. well, one, you are a very boring person.

  214. But number two,

  215. you won't get it done today.

  216. I believe they're probably beyond

  217. what you're at least willing to calculate.

  218. That's the example that he gives.

  219. God's promises are that his blessings

  220. will be too numerous to count.

  221. I want you to notice something else too.

  222. In verse 17, I love this passage.

  223. It says this,

  224. And your offspring shall possess

  225. the gates of his enemies.

  226. Now understand the gate of the city.

  227. We're talking about walled cities.

  228. Okay?

  229. The gate was the main part of the city.

  230. If you came into that city,

  231. if you went out of that city,

  232. you had to go through the gate of the city.

  233. It was the meeting spot.

  234. It was the social spot.

  235. If you want to know what was happening,

  236. that's where you went to see what was happening.

  237. It was literally the gateway into the city.

  238. Now, you can try to tear down the wall.

  239. If you're trying to take over that city,

  240. you can try to build a ramp to go over the wall.

  241. They did such as that.

  242. You can ladder up or try to break through

  243. or tunnel under,

  244. but the real place to get through was the gate.

  245. And even if you did go over or under the wall,

  246. the first thing that an army would do

  247. if it went over the wall or under the wall

  248. was to get to the gate and open it up

  249. so the rest of the army could come in.

  250. You defeat the enemy by possessing the gate.

  251. And God says here,

  252. Your offspring,

  253. because of your obedience,

  254. shall subdue the enemy.

  255. You know what that means to us, Christian?

  256. Well, let me remind you of what Jesus said

  257. at Caesarea Philippi.

  258. Matthew chapter 16, beginning in verse 15,

    Matthew 16 chapter mention

  259. he said this,

  260. He said to them,

  261. But who do you say that I am?

  262. And Simon Peter replied,

  263. You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.

  264. And Jesus answered him,

  265. Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah.

  266. That just means his daddy's name was Jonah.

  267. Simon Bar-Jonah,

  268. for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you,

  269. but my Father who is in heaven.

  270. And I tell you,

  271. you are Peter,

  272. and on this rock I'll build my church,

  273. and the gates of hell

  274. shall not prevail against it.

  275. That word for Peter there means rock,

  276. like a small stone.

  277. But the reality is,

  278. when he says,

  279. and on this rock,

  280. that's a different word,

  281. more like a boulder.

  282. I had a New Testament professor

  283. that described this passage as meaning this.

  284. He said,

  285. I wasn't there,

  286. but if I was there,

  287. I believe I would have seen this.

  288. And he said,

  289. Peter,

  290. and you are now rock.

  291. His name was Simon

  292. before he changed him to small stone.

  293. You are rock.

  294. And on this rock,

  295. I'll build my church.

  296. And the gates of hell

  297. shall not prevail against it.

  298. I want to be clear.

  299. No matter what denomination you come from,

  300. the church is not built on Peter.

  301. It's built on Christ.

  302. He is the foundation,

  303. the cornerstone,

  304. and the capstone.

  305. That's where the strength comes from.

  306. But get this point.

  307. The gates of hell

  308. shall not prevail.

  309. In other words,

  310. if you go with God,

  311. we will possess the gate.

  312. If we go with God,

  313. we will subdue the enemy.

  314. If we go with God,

  315. we will win the battle,

  316. triumph over the enemy in the war.

  317. With God, friend,

  318. we win.

  319. And the angel had to say that

  320. a second time to Abraham.

  321. He needed to hear it again

  322. or he wouldn't have repeated it.

  323. Maybe you need to hear it again.

  324. I know I do from time to time.

  325. I need to be reminded

  326. that with God, we win.

  327. That is the blessings of believing.

  328. That is the blessings of obedience.

  329. You will gain things from the Lord

  330. that you do not deserve

  331. because God gives us

  332. his word.

  333. Second truth is this.

  334. You've heard this before.

  335. You need to hear it again.

  336. God challenges us

  337. to believe.

  338. Abraham had to believe

  339. God before Isaac was born.

  340. Abraham had to believe

  341. God when God asked for Isaac.

  342. Abraham had to believe

  343. God in the midst of the journey

  344. when he kept looking at that place,

  345. dreading the top of that mountain

  346. where he was going,

  347. looking up to that place.

  348. He had to trust God in that.

  349. Abraham had to believe God

  350. when he told his servants,

  351. wait here,

  352. we'll be back.

  353. We'll be back,

  354. both of us.

  355. Abraham had to believe God

  356. as he bound his son.

  357. Abraham had to believe God

  358. as he lifted that knife.

  359. Abraham had to believe.

  360. It was a challenge of belief.

  361. And he's not the only one.

  362. Think about David.

  363. When David walked in

  364. to the valley of Elah

  365. and saw that blasphemous

  366. giant of a man, Goliath,

  367. breathing out his

  368. sacrilegious threats,

  369. David had to believe in God.

  370. I mean, they tried to fit him

  371. with Saul's armor.

  372. And another passage said

  373. Saul was a head taller

  374. than every other man.

  375. It didn't fit on David.

  376. He couldn't believe in the armor.

  377. He had to believe in God.

  378. When Saul told him,

  379. you're just a boy,

  380. he had to believe in God.

  381. When David went

  382. and picked up five smooth stones,

  383. praying for accuracy,

  384. he had to believe in God.

  385. And he referred back

  386. to what God had done

  387. for him in the past.

  388. He said,

  389. when I was keeping sheep

  390. and a bear came along,

  391. God enabled me

  392. to protect the sheep.

  393. When the lion came along,

  394. God enabled me

  395. to protect the sheep.

  396. David had to believe

  397. that God had prepared him

  398. for this.

  399. He saw all that shepherding

  400. as a training ground

  401. for this valley,

  402. for this time.

  403. David had to believe

  404. that when he went

  405. with boldness

  406. against those that defy

  407. the living God,

  408. that God would come through.

  409. David had to believe.

  410. And when he went

  411. into that valley

  412. and when he took his shot

  413. and when he struck down

  414. the enemy,

  415. David had to believe.

  416. But he's not the only one.

  417. When Peter was in that boat

  418. in the midst of the storm,

  419. he had to believe.

  420. When he saw Jesus

  421. walking on the water,

  422. he had to believe.

  423. When Jesus told him

  424. to walk out on the water,

  425. he had to believe.

  426. And as long as his eyes

  427. stayed on Jesus,

  428. he stayed up.

  429. And when he looked

  430. at the storm,

  431. he began to sink.

  432. I promise you folks,

  433. if you watch the storms

  434. in life,

  435. it'll weaken your faith

  436. every time.

  437. But you keep your eyes

  438. upon the Lord

  439. and he will lead you

  440. to believe.

  441. Because God challenges us

  442. to believe.

  443. He did it in Abraham's life.

  444. He did it in David's life.

  445. He did it in Peter's life.

  446. Oh, I could go on.

  447. We can talk about Joseph.

  448. We can talk about Moses.

  449. Y'all don't want lunch today,

  450. do you?

  451. We can talk about Joshua.

  452. We can talk about Samson.

  453. We can talk about Nehemiah.

  454. We can talk about Esther.

  455. We can talk about Job.

  456. Let's get over to the prophets.

  457. Let's turn over to the apostles.

  458. All the way through,

  459. you will find that

  460. they had to believe.

  461. God challenges us

  462. to believe,

  463. not just for biblical folks,

  464. for folks today.

  465. God challenges us

  466. to believe.

  467. So I want to ask you this morning,

  468. have you ever believed

  469. on the Lord?

  470. 1 John 1, 9 says,

  471. if we confess our sins,

  472. he's faithful and just

  473. to forgive us of our sins

  474. and to cleanse us

  475. from all unrighteousness.

  476. Leave that up a minute.

  477. I love this passage.

  478. And what I love about it is,

  479. if God was,

  480. if God was willing to do it

  481. but couldn't do it,

  482. we'd be in a mess.

  483. And if God could do it

  484. but wasn't willing to do it,

  485. oh man,

  486. we'd be in a mess.

  487. But thank God,

  488. he's willing to do it

  489. and he can do it

  490. and not only does he forgive us

  491. of our sins,

  492. but listen,

  493. if you start naming your sins today,

  494. if we all do that,

  495. this place is going to get ugly.

  496. Okay?

  497. If we start confessing our sins

  498. but I'll tell you,

  499. we can make a list

  500. as long as we possibly

  501. can think of

  502. and we'll still not name them all.

  503. We'll miss some out.

  504. And what I am thankful about

  505. is when we bring

  506. our known sin to God,

  507. he is willing and able

  508. to forgive us of our sins

  509. and look at what it says,

  510. and to cleanse us

  511. from all unrighteousness.

  512. He cleans the slate

  513. when we believe.

  514. Have you ever believed

  515. on the Lord?

  516. If not,

  517. that's your challenge today

  518. because he challenges us

  519. to believe.

  520. Third thing is this.

  521. God keeps his promise.

  522. God populated a nation

  523. through Abraham

  524. just like he promised.

  525. He used Abraham

  526. because of his obedience.

  527. Think about another man

  528. that obeyed God.

  529. Noah obeyed God.

  530. He built a boat

  531. in the desert

  532. when it hadn't even rained.

  533. Why did he do it?

  534. Because God told him to do it.

  535. And all the storms

  536. and the floods,

  537. when Noah reached dry land,

  538. the first thing he did

  539. was build an altar

  540. to the Lord

  541. in Genesis chapter 9.

    Genesis 9 chapter mention

  542. It was after the sacrifice

  543. that God promised

  544. he would never again

  545. destroy the earth

  546. by flood

  547. and then he put his bow

  548. in the sky.

  549. All that fight over the rainbow

  550. if they only knew.

  551. Let me tell you

  552. what literally

  553. the Hebrew mind

  554. would see

  555. when they look at that passage.

  556. is that when the wrath

  557. of God

  558. is coming upon

  559. the people

  560. of the land

  561. that it is

  562. as if God

  563. has a bow and arrow

  564. and he is using

  565. that primitive weapon

  566. to display his wrath

  567. toward folks.

  568. That's what the flood

  569. was doing.

  570. It was God

  571. using his wrath

  572. toward the earth

  573. and when he made

  574. that covenant

  575. with Noah

  576. after he went

  577. to that altar,

  578. God,

  579. thank God,

  580. hung up his bow.

  581. in the sky

  582. he was done.

  583. And every time

  584. you see a rainbow

  585. you can be reminded

  586. thank God

  587. the wrath of God

  588. has been spared

  589. from my life

  590. because God's

  591. hung up his bow.

  592. I didn't make that up.

  593. The Hebrew language

  594. tells us that.

  595. Hagar

  596. was used

  597. by Abraham

  598. and Sarah

  599. to have the baby

  600. that they thought

  601. they could not have.

  602. It was not

  603. in God's will

  604. and it made

  605. for a messy

  606. hairy situation

  607. but God promised

  608. her

  609. before her child

  610. was born

  611. that he would

  612. father descendants

  613. without number.

  614. Job went

  615. through the worst.

  616. I can't imagine

  617. the losses

  618. he took

  619. the accusations

  620. that people made

  621. the hardship

  622. that he suffered

  623. but after he went

  624. through his trial

  625. the scripture says

  626. he received

  627. a double portion

  628. of all that he had lost.

  629. Why?

  630. Because God is faithful.

  631. He keeps

  632. his promise.

  633. Now I want you

  634. to recognize something.

  635. Abraham

  636. when he was

  637. going up that mountain

  638. with his precious

  639. son Isaac

  640. did not know

  641. this was a test

  642. of God.

  643. He didn't know

  644. that till afterwards.

  645. Job

  646. when he went

  647. through all his suffering

  648. didn't know

  649. it was a test

  650. that he was going

  651. through

  652. until he suffered

  653. the losses

  654. that he did.

  655. I say that

  656. because

  657. we usually

  658. do not recognize

  659. the test

  660. that we face

  661. when we're walking

  662. in the midst

  663. of it.

  664. It's not until

  665. after the fact

  666. when we look back

  667. and see God's hand

  668. lead us through it

  669. that we understand

  670. what was going on.

  671. It's just too real

  672. to us.

  673. It's right there

  674. before us.

  675. The test

  676. of God

  677. are not

  678. pre-scheduled

  679. on some syllabus

  680. that God gives us

  681. when we give

  682. our heart and life

  683. to him

  684. so we can know

  685. when it's going to come

  686. and when the deadline

  687. is.

  688. They come

  689. unexpected.

  690. But God's promises

  691. God promises

  692. that he will not

  693. leave us alone

  694. in the midst

  695. of our difficulty

  696. and God

  697. keeps his promise.

  698. Not only that

  699. but he blesses

  700. those who trust

  701. him

  702. and turn

  703. their way

  704. to his way.

  705. I like the way

  706. Kent Hughes

  707. put it.

  708. He said this

  709. it's all so simple

  710. we grow

  711. in faith

  712. as we believe

  713. the bare word

  714. of God.

  715. The process

  716. is this

  717. God comes

  718. to us

  719. with his word

  720. and we're challenged

  721. to believe.

  722. When we believe

  723. his word

  724. he tests us

  725. by stretching

  726. our faith

  727. so that it can

  728. grow to greater

  729. dimensions than before.

  730. There are always

  731. valleys next

  732. to the hilltops

  733. of faith.

  734. There are ups

  735. and downs

  736. but God grows

  737. our faith

  738. incrementally

  739. so that we are

  740. enabled

  741. to give our

  742. Isaacs

  743. to God.

  744. so

  745. so

  746. so what

  747. changes

  748. does God

  749. want you

  750. to make

  751. in his life?

  752. What changes

  753. does God

  754. want you

  755. to make

  756. in your life?

  757. Resting

  758. upon the

  759. promises

  760. of God

  761. being reminded

  762. of those things

  763. that most of you

  764. when you walked

  765. in this place

  766. already knew

  767. how does that

  768. apply to your

  769. life today?

  770. What does

  771. his word

  772. and the conviction

  773. of his spirit

  774. speak to you

  775. about in regards

  776. to a change

  777. that needs to come

  778. in your life?

  779. You may be in that

  780. spot where you say

  781. well pastor

  782. listen I'm not

  783. hearing anything

  784. from God.

  785. I'm just not

  786. hearing it.

  787. and my first

  788. question would be

  789. it's not

  790. accusative

  791. it's a question

  792. are you

  793. listening?

  794. Are you

  795. attentive?

  796. Are you

  797. taking personal

  798. time in his

  799. word?

  800. Because my

  801. friend the

  802. word of God

  803. is God

  804. breathes.

  805. It is a

  806. living

  807. active

  808. declaration

  809. of what

  810. he'll work

  811. and move

  812. not only in

  813. the people's

  814. lives that

  815. are listed

  816. in this

  817. book

  818. but what

  819. he'll do

  820. in our

  821. lives as

  822. well.

  823. And when

  824. you ask

  825. the Lord

  826. Jesus

  827. God as I

  828. read this

  829. will you

  830. show me

  831. how it

  832. applies to

  833. my life?

  834. God will

  835. you interact

  836. with what

  837. I'm dealing

  838. with in my

  839. life today

  840. as I read

  841. this passage

  842. God?

  843. Will you

  844. give me

  845. direction

  846. I ask?

  847. I promise

  848. you

  849. the Holy

  850. Spirit will

  851. work and

  852. move in

  853. your life

  854. as you

  855. trust him

  856. in his

  857. word.

  858. The other

  859. question is

  860. this have

  861. you answered

  862. what he's

  863. already told

  864. you to

  865. do?

  866. God

  867. convicted

  868. you in

  869. an area

  870. of your

  871. life that

  872. you're just

  873. letting lay

  874. and ignoring?

  875. Have you

  876. responded to

  877. what he's

  878. already told

  879. you to do?

  880. I want

  881. you to hear

  882. it again.

  883. God gives

  884. you his

  885. word.

  886. God will

  887. always challenge

  888. us to

  889. believe and

  890. God will

  891. always keep

  892. his promises.

  893. You can rest

  894. in it.

  895. As my friend

  896. says often

  897. that's what the

  898. book says and

  899. the book never

  900. lies.

  901. every head

  902. bowed and

  903. every eye

  904. closed.

  905. I want to

  906. ask you this

  907. morning has

  908. there ever

  909. been a time

  910. in your

  911. life when

  912. you've asked

  913. the Lord

  914. Jesus to

  915. come into

  916. your life

  917. and save

  918. you?

  919. Have you

  920. ever

  921. acknowledged

  922. the fact

  923. that you're

  924. a sinner

  925. and need

  926. the Lord

  927. Jesus and

  928. ask him to

  929. save you?

  930. If that's

  931. never happened

  932. to you I

  933. want you to

  934. know in a few

  935. minutes we're

  936. going to stand

  937. we're going to

  938. give the

  939. invitation.

  940. You can

  941. come for

  942. various reasons

  943. but the

  944. most important

  945. one of any

  946. of that is

  947. that if you

  948. don't know

  949. the Lord

  950. Jesus you

  951. come I'd

  952. love to

  953. guide you

  954. in that

  955. process of

  956. what it

  957. means to

  958. give your

  959. heart and

  960. life to

  961. the Lord.

  962. If you've

  963. done that

  964. privately but

  965. you've never

  966. done that

  967. publicly you

  968. need to

  969. acknowledge him

  970. through baptism.

  971. It's the

  972. first step of

  973. obedience.

  974. Christ did

  975. it as an

  976. example for

  977. us to

  978. follow and

  979. it's the way

  980. to proclaim

  981. that faith.

  982. So maybe

  983. you're coming

  984. today and

  985. say listen I

  986. know I've

  987. given my

  988. heart and

  989. life to the

  990. Lord but I've

  991. never made

  992. that publicly

  993. acknowledged and

  994. I need to do

  995. that today.

  996. Maybe God's

  997. drawing you

  998. into this

  999. fellowship.

  1000. You know that

  1001. this is where

  1002. God would have

  1003. you to serve.

  1004. Sometimes we

  1005. just put those

  1006. things off.

  1007. Listen if you're

  1008. putting that off

  1009. for no reason

  1010. except for

  1011. stubbornness don't

  1012. do that anymore.

  1013. Just obey God

  1014. and come.

  1015. I don't ever want

  1016. you to do anything

  1017. that God's not

  1018. leading you to do.

  1019. Never want you to

  1020. sit on anything

  1021. God is telling you

  1022. to do.

  1023. Maybe you're

  1024. here this

  1025. morning and the

  1026. reality is there's

  1027. just stuff in your

  1028. life that you need

  1029. to believe God

  1030. for and you need

  1031. to lay those

  1032. things at the

  1033. altar and give

  1034. them over to God.

  1035. Not pick them up

  1036. and take them back

  1037. to your seat with

  1038. you.

  1039. Leave them here

  1040. at his feet

  1041. trusting him with

  1042. it.

  1043. I don't know how

  1044. God's speaking to

  1045. you but I promise

  1046. you that if you

  1047. obey him he'll keep

  1048. his promises.

1049. You can rest in it.

  1050. Heavenly Father I love

1051. you and I thank you

  1052. dear God for your

1053. love for us and I

  1054. ask today that you'll

  1055. move and you'll work

  1056. in our midst.

  1057. Help us to respond

  1058. in obedience as you

  1059. speak to our hearts

  1060. and lives.

1061. Oh God I pray in

  1062. Jesus precious name.

  1063. Amen.
